4:1 After this I looked and lobehold ina heavendoor anstanding open doorin heaven And the first voice which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet said Come up hitherhere and I will show you what must take place after this
4:2 At once I was in the Spirit and lobehold a throne stood in heaven with one seated on the throne
4:3 And he who sat there appearedhad likethe appearance of jasper and carnelian and roundaround the throne was a rainbow that lookedhad likethe appearance of an emerald
4:4 RoundAround the throne were twenty four thrones and seated on the thrones were twenty four elders cladclothed in white garments with golden crowns uponon their heads
4:5 From the throne issuecame flashes of lightning and voicesrumblings and peals of thunder and before the throne burnwere burning seven torches of fire which are the seven spirits of God;
4:6 and before the throne there iswas as it were a sea of glass like crystal And roundaround the throne on each side of the throne are four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind:
4:7 the first living creature like a lion the second living creature like an ox the third living creature with the face of a man and the fourth living creature like aan flying eagle in flight
4:8 And the four living creatures each of them with six wings are full of eyes all roundaround and within and day and night they never cease to singsay Holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come
4:9 And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne who lives forforever ever and ever
4:10 the twenty four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forforever ever and ever; theyThey cast their crowns before the throne singingsaying
4:11 Worthy artare thouyou our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power for thouyou didstcreated create all things and by thyyour will they existed and were created
5:1 AndThen I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back sealed with seven seals;
5:2 andAnd I saw a strongmighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals
5:4 and I weptbegan muchto thatweep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it
5:5 ThenAnd one of the elders said to me Weep notno more; lobehold the Lion of the tribe of Judah the Root of David has conquered so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals
5:6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing as though it had been slain with seven horns and with seven eyes which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth;
5:7 andAnd he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne
5:8 And when he had taken the scroll the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb each holding a harp and with golden bowls full of incense which are the prayers of the saints;
5:9 andAnd they sang a new song saying Worthy artare thouyou to take the scroll and to open its seals for thouyou wastwere slain and by thyyour blood didstyou ransomransomed menpeople for God from every tribe and tonguelanguage and people and nation
5:10 and hastyou have made them a kingdom and priests to our God and they shall reign on the earth
5:13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea and all thereinthat is in them saying To him who sits uponon the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forforever ever and ever
6:1 Now I sawwatched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals and I heard one of the four living creatures say as with a voice oflike thunder Come
6:2 And I sawlooked and behold a white horse andAnd its rider had a bow; and a crown was given to him and he wentcame out conquering and to conquer
6:4 And out came another horse bright red; itsIts rider was permitted to take peace from the earth so that menpeople should slay one another; and he was given a great sword
6:5 When he opened the third seal I heard the third living creature say Come And I sawlooked and behold a black horse andAnd its rider had a balancepair of scales in his hand;
6:6 andAnd I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying A quart of wheat for a denarius and three quarts of barley for a denarius; butand do not harm the oil and wine
6:8 And I sawlooked and behold a pale horse andAnd its riders name was Death and Hades followed him; andAnd they were given powerauthority over a fourth of the earth to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth
6:9 When he opened the fifth seal I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne;
6:10 theyThey cried out with a loud voice O Sovereign Lord holy and true how long before thouyou wiltwill judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell uponon the earth
6:11 Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and their brethrenbrothers should be complete who were to be killed as they themselves had been
6:12 When he opened the sixth seal I looked and behold there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth the full moon became like blood
6:13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale;
6:14 theThe sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up and every mountain and island was removed from its place
6:15 Then the kings of the earth and the great menones and the generals and the rich and the strongpowerful and everyeveryone one slave and free hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains
6:16 calling to the mountains and rocks Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb;
6:17 for the great day of their wrath has come and who can stand before it
7:2 Then I saw another angel ascendascending from the rising of the sun with the seal of the living God and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea
7:3 saying Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees tilluntil we have sealed the servants of our God uponon their foreheads
7:4 And I heard the number of the sealed a144000 hundred and forty four thousand sealed outfrom of every tribe of the sons of Israel :
7:5 twelve12000 thousandfrom sealed out of the tribe of Judah twelvewere thousandsealed of12000 from the tribe of Reuben twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Gad
7:6 twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Asher twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Naph′taliNaphtali twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Manas′seh Manasseh
7:7 twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Simeon twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Levi twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Is′sachar Issachar
7:8 twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Zeb′ulunZebulun twelve12000 thousandfrom of the tribe of Joseph twelve12000 thousandfrom sealed out of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed
7:9 After this I looked and behold a great multitude whichthat no manone could number from every nation from all tribes and peoples and tongueslanguages standing before the throne and before the Lamb clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands
7:10 and crying out with a loud voice Salvation belongs to our God who sits uponon the throne and to the Lamb
7:11 And all the angels stoodwere roundstanding around the throne and roundaround the elders and the four living creatures and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God
7:12 saying Amen Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forforever ever and ever Amen
7:13 Then one of the elders addressed me saying Who are these clothed in white robes and whencefrom where have they come
7:14 I said to him Sir you know And he said to me These are theythe whoones havecoming come out of the great tribulation; theyThey have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb
7:15 Therefore they are they before the throne of God and serve him day and night withinin his temple; and he who sits uponon the throne will shelter them with his presence
7:16 They shall hunger no more neither thirst any moreanymore; the sun shall not strike them nor any scorching heat
7:17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes
8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingleoffer with the prayers of all the saints uponon the golden altar before the throne;
8:4 and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints rose before God from the hand of the angel before God
8:5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth; and there were peals of thunder voicesrumblings flashes of lightning and an earthquake
8:6 Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets madeprepared ready to blow them
8:7 The first angel blew his trumpet and there followed hail and fire mixed with blood whichand fellthese onwere thrown upon the earth; andAnd a third of the earth was burntburned up and a third of the trees were burntburned up and all green grass was burntburned up
8:8 The second angel blew his trumpet and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood
8:9 andA a third of the sea became blood a third of the living creatures in the sea died and a third of the ships were destroyed
8:10 The third angel blew his trumpet and a great star fell from heaven blazing like a torch and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the fountainssprings of water
8:11 The name of the star is Wormwood A third of the waters became wormwood and many menpeople died offrom the water because it washad been made bitter
8:12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet and a third of the sun was struck and a third of the moon and a third of the stars so that a third of their light wasmight be darkened; and a third of the day wasmight be kept from shining and likewise a third of the night
8:13 Then I looked and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew indirectly midheavenoverhead Woe woe woe to those who dwell on the earth at the blasts of the other trumpets whichthat the three angels are about to blow
9:1 And the fifth angel blew his trumpet and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth and he was given the key ofto the shaft of the bottomless pit;
9:2 heHe opened the shaft of the bottomless pit and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft
9:3 Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth;
9:4 theyThey were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green growthplant or any tree but only those ofpeople mankind who havedo not have the seal of God uponon their foreheads;
9:5 theyThey were allowed to torturetorment them for five months but not to kill them and their torturetorment was like the torturetorment of a scorpion when it stings a man someone
9:6 And in those days menpeople will seek death and will not find it; theyThey will long to die andbut death will flyflee from them
9:7 In appearance the locusts were like horses arrayedprepared for battle;: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces
9:9 they had scalesbreastplates like breastplates of iron breastplates and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle
9:10 They have tails and stings like scorpions and stings and their power ofto hurtinghurt menpeople for five months liesis in their tails
9:11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit; hisHis name in Hebrew is Abad′donAbaddon and in Greek he is called Apol′lyonApollyon
9:14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphra′tes Euphrates
9:15 So the four angels were released who had been heldprepared ready for the hour the day the month and the year were released to kill a third of mankind
9:16 The number of themounted troops of cavalry was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number
9:17 And this wasis how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: thethey riders wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulphursulfur and the heads of the horses were like lions heads and fire and smoke and sulphursulfur issuedcame fromout of their mouths
9:18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed by the fire and smoke and sulphursulfur issuingcoming fromout of their mouths
9:19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents with heads and by means of them they wound
9:20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood which cannot either see or hear or walk;
9:21 nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts
10:3 and called out with a loud voice like a lion roaring; whenWhen he called out the seven thunders sounded
10:5 And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land liftedraised up his right hand to heaven
10:6 and swore by him who lives forforever ever and ever who created heaven and what is in it the earth and what is in it and the sea and what is in it that there shouldwould be no more delay
10:7 but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel the mystery of God would be fulfilled just as he announced to his servants the prophets should be fulfilled
10:8 Then the voice whichthat I had heard from heaven spoke to me again saying Go take the scroll whichthat is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land
10:9 So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll; andAnd he said to me Take it and eat it; it will bemake your stomach bitter tobut in your stomachmouth butit will be sweet as honey in your mouth
10:10 And I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it; itIt was sweet as honey in my mouth but when I had eaten it my stomach was made bitter
10:11 And I was told You must again prophesy about many peoples and nations and tongueslanguages and kings
11:1 Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff and I was told: Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there
11:2 but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out for it is given over to the nations and they will trample over the holy city for forty two months
11:3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses powerand tothey will prophesy for one1260 thousand two hundred and sixty days clothed in sackcloth
11:4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands whichthat stand before the Lord of the earth
11:5 And if anyanyone one would harm them fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes; ifIf anyanyone one would harm them thusthis is how he is doomed to be killed
11:6 They have the power to shut the sky that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to smitestrike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they desire
11:7 And when they have finished their testimony the beast that ascendsrises from the bottomless pit will make war uponon them and conquer them and kill them
11:8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city whichthat symbolically is allegorically called Sodom and Egypt where their Lord was crucified
11:9 For three days and a half mendays some from the peoples and tribes and tongueslanguages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and refuse to let them be placed in a tomb
11:12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them Come up hitherhere And in the sight of their foes they went up to heaven in a cloud and their enemies watched them
11:13 And at that hour there was a great earthquake and a tenth of the city fell; sevenSeven thousand people were killed in the earthquake and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven
11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet and there were loud voices in heaven saying The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and he shall reign forforever ever and ever
11:17 saying We give thanks to theeyou Lord God Almighty who artis and who wastwas thatfor thouyou hasthave taken thyyour great power and begun to reign
11:18 The nations raged but thyyour wrath came and the time for the dead to be judged and for rewarding thyyour servants the prophets and saints and those who fear thyyour name both small and great and for destroying the destroyers of the earth
11:19 Then Gods temple in heaven was opened and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; andThere there were flashes of lightning voicesrumblings peals of thunder an earthquake and heavy hail
12:1 And a great portentsign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun with the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of twelve stars;
12:2 sheShe was withpregnant child and shewas criedcrying out in herbirth pangspains ofand birththe inagony anguishof forgiving delivery birth
12:3 And another portentsign appeared in heaven;: behold a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and sevenon diadems upon his heads seven diadems
12:4 His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to beargive abirth childso that hewhen mightshe devourbore her child whenhe shemight broughtdevour it forth;
12:5 sheShe broughtgave forthbirth to a male child one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron but her child was caught up to God and to his throne
12:6 and the woman fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared by God in which she is to be nourished for one1260 thousand two hundred and sixty days
12:7 Now war arose in heaven Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; andAnd the dragon and his angels fought back
12:8 but theyhe werewas defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven
12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down that ancient serpent who is called the Devildevil and Satan the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth and his angels were thrown down with him
12:10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come for the accuser of our brethrenbrothers has been thrown down who accuses them day and night before our God
12:12 RejoiceTherefore thenrejoice O heavenheavens and you thatwho dwell thereinin them But woe to you O earth and sea for the devil has come down to you in great wrath because he knows that his time is short
12:13 And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth he pursued the woman who had bornegiven birth to the male child
12:14 But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness to the place where she is to be nourished for a time and times and half a time
12:15 The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with thea flood
12:16 But the earth came to the help of the woman and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river whichthat the dragon had poured from his mouth
12:17 Then the dragon wasbecame angryfurious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring on those who keep the commandments of God and bearhold to the testimony toof Jesus And he stood on the sand of the sea
13:1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads with ten diadems uponon its horns and a blasphemous namenames uponon its heads
13:2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bears and its mouth was like a lions mouth And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority
13:3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound but its mortal wound was healed and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast with wonder
13:4 MenAnd they worshiped the dragon for he had given his authority to the beast and they worshiped the beast saying Who is like the beast and who can fight against it
13:5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty two months;
13:6 itIt opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God blaspheming his name and his dwelling that is those who dwell in heaven
13:7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them And authority was given it over every tribe and people and tonguelanguage and nation
13:8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it everyeveryone one whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb thatwho was slain
13:9 If anyanyone one has an ear let him hear:
13:10 If anyanyone one is to be taken captive to captivity he goes; if anyanyone oneis slaysto be slain with the sword with the sword must he be slain Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints
13:11 Then I saw another beast whichrising rose out of the earth; itIt had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon
13:13 It worksperforms great signs even making fire come down from heaven to earth in thefront sight of men; people
13:14 and by the signs whichthat it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth biddingtelling them to make an image for the beast whichthat was wounded by the sword and yet lived;
13:15 andAnd it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast shouldmight even speak and tomight cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain
13:18 This calls for wisdom: let himthe one who has understanding reckoncalculate the number of the beast for it is athe human number itsof numbera isman sixand hundredhis andnumber sixtyis six666
14:1 Then I looked and lobehold on Mount Zion stood the Lamb and with him a144000 hundred and forty four thousand who had his name and his Fathers name written on their foreheads
14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the soundroar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder; theThe voice I heard was like the sound of harpersharpists playing on their harps
14:3 and they singwere singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders No one could learn that song except the hundred144000 and forty four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth
14:4 It is these who have not defiled themselves with women for they are chaste;virgins itIt is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes; theseThese have been redeemed from mankind as firstfirstfruits fruits for God and the Lamb
14:5 and in their mouth no lie was found for they are spotlessblameless
14:6 Then I saw another angel flying indirectly midheavenoverhead with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth to every nation and tribe and tonguelanguage and people;
14:7 andAnd he said with a loud voice Fear God and give him glory forbecause the hour of his judgment has come; and worship him who made heaven and earth the sea and the fountainssprings of water
14:8 Another angel a second followed saying Fallen fallen is Babylon the great she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her impuresexual passionimmorality
14:9 And another angel a third followed them saying with a loud voice If anyanyone one worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand
14:10 he also shallwill drink the wine of Gods wrath poured unmixedfull strength into the cup of his anger and he shallwill be tormented with fire and sulphursulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb
14:11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forforever ever and ever; and they have no rest day or night these worshipers of the beast and its image and whoever receives the mark of its name
14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints those who keep the commandments of God and thetheir faith ofin Jesus
14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord henceforthfrom now on Blessed indeed says the Spirit that they may rest from their labors for their deeds follow them
14:14 Then I looked and lobehold a white cloud and seated on the cloud one like a son of man with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand
14:15 And another angel came out of the temple calling with a loud voice to him who sat uponon the cloud Put in your sickle and reap for the hour to reap has come for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe
14:16 So he who sat uponon the cloud swung his sickle onacross the earth and the earth was reaped
14:17 AndThen another angel came out of the temple in heaven and he too had a sharp sickle
14:18 ThenAnd another angel came out from the altar the angel who has powerauthority over the fire and he called with a loud voice to himthe one who had the sharp sickle Put in your sickle and gather the clusters offrom the vine of the earth for its grapes are ripe
14:19 So the angel swung his sickle onacross the earth and gathered the vintagegrape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great winewinepress press of the wrath of God;
14:20 andAnd the winewinepress press was trodden outside the city and blood flowed from the winewinepress press as high as a horses bridle for one1600 thousand six hundred stadia
15:1 Then I saw another portentsign in heaven great and wonderfulamazing seven angels with seven plagues which are the last for with them the wrath of God is endedfinished
15:2 And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire —and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands
15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb saying Great and wonderfulamazing are thyyour deeds O Lord God the Almighty Just and true are thyyour ways O King of the agesnations
15:4 Who shallwill not fear O Lord and glorify thyyour name O Lord For thouyou alone artare holy All nations shallwill come and worship theeyou for thyyour judgmentsrighteous acts have been revealed
15:5 After this I looked and the templesanctuary of the tent of witness in heaven was opened
15:6 and out of the templesanctuary came the seven angels with the seven plagues robedclothed in pure bright linen andwith theirgolden breastssashes girdedaround withtheir golden girdles chests
15:7 And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forforever ever and ever;
15:8 and the templesanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power and no one could enter the templesanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were endedfinished
16:2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth and foulharmful and evilpainful sores came upon the menpeople who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image
16:3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea and it became like the blood of a deadcorpse man and every living thing died that was in the sea
16:4 The third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the fountainssprings of water and they became blood
16:5 And I heard the angel in charge of waterthe waters say Just artare thouyou inO theseHoly thyOne judgmentswho thouis and who artwas andfor wastyou Obrought Holythese Onejudgments
16:6 For menthey have shed the blood of saints and prophets and thouyou hasthave given them blood to drink It is theirwhat duethey deserve
16:7 And I heard the altar crysaying YeaYes Lord God the Almighty true and just are thyyour judgments
16:8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun and it was allowed to scorch menpeople with fire;
16:9 menThey were scorched by the fierce heat and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues andThey they did not repent and give him glory
16:10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast and its kingdom was inplunged into darkness; menPeople gnawed their tongues in anguish
16:11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores andThey did not repent of their deeds
16:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphra′tesEuphrates and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east
16:13 And I saw issuingcoming fromout of the mouth of the dragon and fromout of the mouth of the beast and fromout of the mouth of the false prophet three foulunclean spirits like frogs;
16:14 forFor they are demonic spirits performing signs who go abroad to the kings of the whole world to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty
16:15 LoBehold I am coming like a thief Blessed is hethe one who isstays awake keeping his garments on that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed
16:16 And they assembled them at the place whichthat in Hebrew is called in Hebrew Armaged′donArmageddon
16:17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne saying It is done
16:18 And there were flashes of lightning voicesrumblings peals of thunder and a great earthquake such as there had never been since menman werewas on the earth so great was that earthquake
16:19 The great city was split into three parts and the cities of the nations fell and God remembered Babylon the great Babylon to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath
16:20 And every island fled away and no mountains were to be found;
16:21 andAnd great hailstones heavyabout asone ahundred hundredweightpounds droppedeach onfell men from heaven tillon menpeople; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail sobecause fearfulthe plague was thatso plaguesevere
17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me Come I will show you the judgment of the great harlotprostitute who is seated uponon many waters
17:2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornicationsexual immorality and with the wine of whose fornicationsexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk
17:3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast whichthat was full of blasphemous names and it had seven heads and ten horns
17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet and bedeckedadorned with gold and jewels and pearls holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication;sexual immorality
17:5 andAnd on her forehead was written a name of mystery: Babylon the great mother of harlotsprostitutes and of earths abominations
17:6 And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus When I saw her I marveled greatly
17:7 But the angel said to me Why do you marvel I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her
17:8 The beast that you saw was and is not and is about to ascendrise from the bottomless pit and go to perdition;destruction andAnd the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to beholdsee the beast because it was and is not and is to come
17:10 they are also seven kings five of whom have fallen one is the other has not yet come and when he comesdoes come he must remain only a little while
17:11 As for the beast that was and is not it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven and it goes to perdition destruction
17:13 These are of one mind and givethey hand over their power and authority to the beast;
17:14 theyThey will make war on the Lamb and the Lamb will conquer them for he is Lord of lords and King of kings and those with him are called and chosen and faithful
17:15 And hethe angel said to me The waters that you saw where the harlotprostitute is seated are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues languages
17:16 And the ten horns that you saw they and the beast will hate the harlot;prostitute theyThey will make her desolate and naked and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire
17:17 for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and givinghanding over their royal power to the beast until the words of God shallare be fulfilled
17:18 And the woman that you saw is the great city whichthat has dominion over the kings of the earth
18:1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven having great authority; and the earth was made bright with his splendor glory
18:2 And he called out with a mighty voice Fallen fallen is Babylon the great ItShe has become a dwelling place offor demons a haunt offor every foulunclean spirit a haunt offor every foulunclean bird a haunt for every unclean and hatefuldetestable bird;beast
18:3 For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her impuresexual passionimmorality and the kings of the earth have committed fornicationimmorality with her and the merchants of the earth have grown rich withfrom the wealthpower of her wantonnessluxurious living
18:6 RenderPay to her back as she herself has renderedpaid back others and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double draughtportion for her in the cup she mixed
18:7 As she glorified herself and playedlived thein wantonluxury so give her a like measure of torment and mourning Sincesince in her heart she says A queen I sit as a queen I am no widow and mourning I shall never see
18:8 soFor shallthis reason her plagues will come in a single day pestilencedeath and mourning and famine and she shallwill be burned up with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who judgeshas judged her
18:9 And the kings of the earth who committed fornicationsexual immorality and werelived wantonin luxury with her will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning;
18:10 theyThey will stand far off in fear of her torment and say Alas alasAlas thouYou great city thouyou mighty city Babylon InFor onein a single hour hasyour thy judgment has come
18:11 And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her since no one buys their cargo any more anymore

18:20 Rejoice over her O heaven Oand you saints and apostles and prophets for God has given judgment for you against her
18:21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea saying So shallwill Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence and shallwill be found no more;
18:22 and the sound of harpersharpists and minstrelsmusicians of flute players and trumpeters shallwill be heard in theeyou no more; and a craftsman of any craft shallwill be found in theeyou no more; and the sound of the millstonemill shallwill be heard in theeyou no more;
18:23 and the light of a lamp shallwill shine in theeyou no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shallwill be heard in theeyou no more; for thyyour merchants were the great menones of the earth and all nations were deceived by thyyour sorcery
19:1 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven crying out Hallelujah Salvation and glory and power belong to our God
19:2     for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great harlotprostitute who corrupted the earth with her fornicationimmorality and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants

19:8 it was granted her to beclothe clothedherself with fine linen bright and pure— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints
19:9 And the angel said to me Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb And he said to me These are the true words of God
19:10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him but he said to me You must not do that I am a fellow servant with you and your brethrenbrothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus Worship God For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy
19:11 Then I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse HeThe whoone satsitting uponon it is called Faithful and True and in righteousness he judges and makes war
19:12 His eyes are like a flame of fire and on his head are many diadems; and he has a name inscribedwritten whichthat no one knows but himself

20:4 Then I saw thrones and seated on them were those to whom judgmentthe authority to judge was committed Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for theirthe testimony toof Jesus and for the word of God and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years
20:6 Blessed and holy is hethe one who shares in the first resurrection Over such the second death has no power but they shallwill be priests of God and of Christ and they shallwill reign with him for a thousand years
20:7 And when the thousand years are ended Satan will be loosedreleased from his prison
20:8 and will come out to deceive the nations whichthat are at the four corners of the earth that is Gog and Magog to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea
