1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia: Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our sibling, to the church of God in Corinth, with all the saints throughout Achaia:
1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to yall from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all comfort.
1:4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Hᴇ comforts us in all our affliction to enable us to comfort those who are in all their affliction, with the comfort through which we are comforted by God.
1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ. For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also our comfort overflows through Christ.
1:6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer. But if we are afflicted, it is for yalls comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for yalls comfort, which produces in yall the patient endurance of the same sufferings that we suffer.
1:7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort. Our hope for yall is firm, because we know that just as yall are partners in our sufferings, yall will also be partners in our comfort.
1:8 For we dont desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life. Now we dont want yall to be uninformed, siblings, about our oppression that happened in Asia: that we were incredibly burdened, beyond our strength, so much that we even despaired of life itself.
1:9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, Indeed, we ourselves felt that we had been given the sentence of death, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.
1:10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us, Hᴇ delivered us from that terrible risk of death, and ʜᴇ will deliver us again. We have set our hope that ʜᴇ will continue to deliver us,
1:11 you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf. as yall join in helping us through your* prayers. Then many faces will give thanks for the gracious gift given to us through the prayers of many.
1:12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you. Now this is our boast: the testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward yall, with godly integrity and sincerity, not by fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God.
1:13 For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end— For we do not write to yall anything yall cant read or understand. I hope yall will come to understand completely,
1:14 as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus. just as yall have already understood us partially, that we are your* reason for boasting just as yall are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
1:15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit, In this confidence, I had planned to come to yall first so that yall would receive a second benefit,
1:16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea. and after visiting yall to go on to Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to return to yall, and then be helped by yall on my journey to Judea.
1:17 When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the Yes, yes and the No, no? Now when I planned this was I being fickle? Or did I plan these things in a fleshly way so that within me there was both Yes, yes and No, no?
1:18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not Yes and no. But as God is faithful, our word toward yall is not Yes and No.
1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and no, but in him is Yes. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we Silvanus, Timothy, and I preached among yall was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes.
1:20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the Yes. Therefore also through him is the Amen, to the glory of God through us. For every promise of God is a Yes in him. And so through him is an Amen to the glory of God through us.
1:21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, Now it is God who establishes us with yall in Christ. Hᴇ also anointed us,
1:22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts. put ʜɪꜱ seal on us, and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.
1:23 But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I didnt come to Corinth. I invoke God as a witness to my soul, that it was to spare yall that I didnt come to Corinth.
1:24 We dont control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith. Not that we Lord it over yalls faith, but are colaborers with yall for your* joy, because it is by faith yall stand firm.
2:1 But I determined this for myself, that I would not come to you again in sorrow. So I made up my mind that I would not make another painful visit to yall.
2:2 For if I make you grieve, then who will make me glad but he who is made to grieve by me? For if I grieve yall, then who will make me glad but the one whom I have grieved?
2:3 And I wrote this very thing to you, so that when I came, I wouldnt have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all that my joy would be shared by all of you. And I wrote this very thing, so that when I came, I wouldnt experience grief from those who should make me rejoice. I am confident in all yall that my joy will also be yalls.
2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that you should be made to grieve, but that you might know the love that I have so abundantly for you. For I wrote to yall in tears with great oppression and anguish of heart, not to grieve yall, but that yall would know the abundant love I have for yall.
2:5 But if any has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow not to me, but in part that I not press too heavily to you all. If anyone has caused grief, they have not caused sorrow to me, but to some extent not to exaggerate to all yall.
2:6 This punishment which was inflicted by the many is sufficient for such a one; This punishment by the majority is enough for that person.
2:7 so that, on the contrary, you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow. So instead, yall should forgive and comfort them. Otherwise such a person might be swallowed up with overwhelming grief.
2:8 Therefore I beg you to confirm your love toward him. Therefore I urge yall to reaffirm yalls love for him.
2:9 For to this end I also wrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether you are obedient in all things. I also wrote for this reason: to test yall to see if yall are obedient in everything.
2:10 Now I also forgive whomever you forgive anything. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, Anyone yall forgive, I forgive. For what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the presence of Christ for yalls sake,
2:11 that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes. so we might not be exploited by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
2:12 Now when I came to Troas for the Good News of Christ, and when a door was opened to me in the Lord, When I went to Troas for the gospel of Christ, even though the Lord had opened a door for me,
2:13 I had no relief for my spirit, because I didnt find Titus my brother, but taking my leave of them, I went out into Macedonia. I had no rest in my spirit, because I didnt find Titus my sibling. Instead, I said goodbye to them and set out for Macedonia.
2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place. But thanks be to God who always leads us in Christs triumphal procession and through us spreads the aroma of the knowledge of him in every place.
2:15 For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God in those who are saved and in those who perish: For we are to God a pleasing fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.
2:16 to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? To the one we are an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?
2:17 For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ. For we are not like so many who peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, we speak with sincerity in Christ, as those from God and before God.
3:1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you? Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, like some, letters of recommendation to yall or from yall?
3:2 You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men, Yall are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by all humans,
3:3 being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh. revealing that yall are a letter from Christ, ministered to by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
3:4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God, We have such confidence through Christ before God,
3:5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God, not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God.
3:6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Hᴇ also made us competent as deacons of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
3:7 But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away, But if the deacon work of death, engraved in letters on stone tablets, came with such glory that the children of Israel could not gaze steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, which was fading away,
3:8 wont service of the Spirit be with much more glory? wont the deacon work of the Spirit be even more glorious?
3:9 For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. For if the deacon work that brought condemnation had glory, how much more glorious is the deacon work that brings righteousness!
3:10 For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses. For what had been glorious now has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it.
3:11 For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory. For if what was fading away had glory, how much more glorious is that which endures!
3:12 Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech, Therefore, since we have this kind of hope, we act with great boldness,
3:13 and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face so that the children of Israel wouldnt look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away. not like Moses, who would put a veil on his face to prevent the children of Israel from gazing steadily at the end of what was fading away.
3:14 But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away. But their minds were hardened, for to this day, when the old covenant is read, the same veil remains. It has not been drawn back, because only in Christ does it fade away.
3:15 But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Yet to this day, when Moses is read, a veil covers their heart,
3:16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. but whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
3:18 But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit. And we all, with unveiled faces are reflecting the glory of the Lord, being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, according to the Lord, who is the Spirit.
4:1 Therefore, seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we dont faint. Therefore, since we have this deacon work because we were shown mercy, we do not lose heart.
4:2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every mans conscience in the sight of God. But we have renounced the secret and shameful things, not walking in deceitfulness nor distorting the word of God, but by the clear declaration of truth we commend ourselves to every humans conscience in the sight of God.
4:3 Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who are dying, And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those who are perishing.
4:4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, would not shine on them.
4:5 For we dont preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus sake, For it is not ourselves that we preach, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as yalls servants for Jesuss sake.
4:6 seeing it is God who said, Light will shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
4:7 But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, so that the extraordinary power is from God and not from us.
4:8 We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; We are squeezed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not to despair;
4:9 pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
4:10 always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, that the life of Jesus may also be displayed in our body.
4:11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh. For we who are alive are constantly being given over to death for Jesuss sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be displayed in our mortal flesh.
4:12 So then death works in us, but life in you. So then death is at work in us, but life in yall.
4:13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore I spoke. We also believe, and therefore we also speak, And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed, and therefore I spoke. We also believe, and therefore we also speak,
4:14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you. knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with yall.
4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Indeed, all this is for yall, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
4:16 Therefore we dont faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer humanity is decaying, our inside is being renewed day by day.
4:17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory, For our momentary, lightweight oppression is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.
4:18 while we dont look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. So we dont focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
5:1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in the heavens, not made by human hands.
5:2 For most certainly in this we groan, longing to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, For in this state we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
5:3 if indeed being clothed, we will not be found naked. since after we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
5:4 For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened, not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we dont want to be unclothed, but to be clothed so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
5:5 Now he who made us for this very thing is God, who also gave to us the down payment of the Spirit. Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a down payment.
5:6 Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; Therefore we are always full of courage, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord.
5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. For we walk by faith, not by sight.
5:8 We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. And so, we are full of courage and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
5:9 Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him. Therefore whether at home or absent, we make it our ambition to please ʜɪᴍ.
5:10 For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive the things in the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive according to what was done in the body, whether good or bad.
5:11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are revealed to God, and I hope that we are revealed also in your consciences. Therefore, since we know the fear of the Lord, we work to persuade humans. What we are is known openly to God, and I hope we are also known openly in yalls consciences.
5:12 For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but speak as giving you occasion of boasting on our behalf, that you may have something to answer those who boast in appearance and not in heart. We arent commending ourselves to yall again, but are giving yall an opportunity to take pride in us, so that yall will have an answer for those who take pride in appearances rather than in what is in heart.
5:13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you. For if we are out of our minds, it is for God. And if we are in our right mind, it is for yall.
5:14 For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died. For the love of Christ compels us, since we have concluded this: that one died for all, therefore all died.
5:15 He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again. And he died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and rose again.
5:16 Therefore we know no one according to the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him so no more. From now on, we dont view anyone from a fleshly perspective. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, now we no longer know him that way.
5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, there is new creation! The old has passed, the new has come!
5:18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; But all things are from God, who reconciled us to ʜɪᴍꜱᴇʟꜰ through Christ and gave us the deacon work of reconciliation,
5:19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. which is that God was reconciling the world to ʜɪᴍꜱᴇʟꜰ in Christ, not counting peoples sins against them. Hᴇ has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
5:20 We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us. We plead on behalf of Christ: Yall be reconciled to God.
5:21 For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. For ʜᴇ made him who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
6:1 Working together, we entreat also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain. Working together with ʜɪᴍ, we urge yall not to receive the grace of God in vain.
6:2 For he says, At an acceptable time I listened to you. In a day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation. For ʜᴇ says, At an acceptable time I listened to you. And in the day of salvation I helped you. Pay attention: now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation!
6:3 We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed, We dont give anyone anything that would cause stumbling, so that the deacon work will not be discredited.
6:4 but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God: in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, Instead, we commend ourselves as deacons of God in all things: in great endurance, in oppressions, in hardships, in distresses,
6:5 in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings, in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in overwork, in sleepless nights, in hunger,
6:6 in pureness, in knowledge, in perseverance, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love, in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,
6:7 in the word of truth, in the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, in the word of truth, in the power of God, through tools of righteousness in the right hand and the left,
6:8 by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report, as deceivers and yet true, through glory and dishonor, through defamation and good report, regarded as deceivers and yet true,
6:9 as unknown and yet well known, as dying and behold—we live, as punished and not killed, as unknown and yet recognized, as dying and yet—look!—we live, as punished and yet not killed,
6:10 as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things. as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing everything.
6:11 Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians. Our heart is enlarged. We have spoken openly to yall, Corinthians, and our heart has been opened wide.
6:12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. We are not withholding our affection from yall, but yall are withholding yours* from us.
6:13 Now in return—I speak as to my children—you also open your hearts. I speak as to my children: as a fair exchange, open wide yalls hearts also.
6:14 Dont be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? Yall must not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
6:15 What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what portion does a believer have with an unbeliever? What harmony does Christ have with Belial? Or what portion does a believer have with an unbeliever?
6:16 What agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, I will dwell in them and walk in them. I will be their God and they will be my people. What agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, I will dwell with them and walk among them. I will be their God and they will be my people.
6:17 Therefore Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you. Therefore, Yall come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Yall must not touch any unclean thing, and I will receive yall. And,
6:18 I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. I will be a Father to yall, and yall will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
7:1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, lets cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Therefore, beloved, since we have these promises, lets cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles the flesh and the spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
7:2 Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one. Open yalls hearts to us. We have wronged no one, corrupted no one, and taken advantage of no one.
7:3 I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and live together. I dont say this in condemnation, since I have already said that yall are in our hearts to die together and live together.
7:4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction. I have spoken with great frankness to yall, and I take great pride in yall. I am filled with comfort, and I am overflowing with joy in all our oppressions.
7:5 For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside. For even when we came into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest. Instead, we were squeezed on every side, conflicts on the outside, fears within.
7:6 Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus, But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus,
7:7 and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more. and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort yall gave him. He told us of yalls longing, yalls mourning, and yalls zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.
7:8 For though I grieved you with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you grieve, though just for a while. For even if I grieved yall with my letter, I dont regret it. And if I did regret it, because I saw that my letter grieved yall for a little while,
7:9 I now rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing. I now rejoice—not because yall were grieved, but that your* grief led to repentance. For yall were grieved in a godly way so that yall werent harmed in any way by us.
7:10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. For godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation, without regret. But worldly sorrow produces death.
7:11 For behold, this same thing, that you were grieved in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vindication! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter. Look at what this godly sorrow has produced in yall—what earnestness, what reasoned defense, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what vindication! In every way, yall have shown yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
7:12 So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God. So although I wrote to yall, it was not for the one who did wrong or the one who was wronged, but that yalls earnest care for us might be made known to yall in the sight of God.
7:13 Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all. For this reason we have been comforted. And in addition to our comfort, we rejoiced even more for Tituss joy, because his spirit was refreshed by all yall.
7:14 For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth. For if I boasted to him about yall, I was not disappointed. But just as everything we said to yall is true, so our boasting about yall to Titus has proved to be true.
7:15 His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him. And his affection for yall is even greater when he remembers all your* obedience, how yall received him with fear and trembling.
7:16 I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you. I rejoice that I have total confidence in yall.
8:1 Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia, Now, siblings, we want yall to know about the grace of God that was given to the churches of Macedonia.
8:2 how in a severe ordeal of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their generosity. During a severe trial of oppression, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed to the wealth of their generosity.
8:3 For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord, I can testify that, according to their means and even beyond it, of their own initiative,
8:4 begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints. they urgently begged us for the grace of sharing in the deacon work to the saints.
8:5 This was not as we had expected, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God. And they did not just what we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.
8:6 So we urged Titus, that as he had made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace. So we urged Titus, that just as he had begun, he would also complete this act of grace for yall.
8:7 But as you abound in everything—in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us—see that you also abound in this grace. But since yall excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in yalls love for us—yall be sure to excel in this grace as well.
8:8 I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love. I am not saying this as a commandment, but as a way of testing the sincerity of yalls love by comparison with the eagerness of others.
8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich. For yall know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, he became poor for yalls sake, so that through his poverty yall might become rich.
8:10 I give advice in this: it is expedient for you who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing. So I will give my opinion about what is best for yall: Last year, you were the first to begin, not only to do something, but to desire to do so.
8:11 But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability. Now yall should complete the work, so that just as there was the readiness and desire, so there may be completion according to your ability.
8:12 For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you dont have. For if the willingness is present, the gift itself is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what they do not have.
8:13 For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed, This is not so that others may be relieved while yall are oppressed, but as a matter of equality.
8:14 but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack, that there may be equality. At the present moment, yalls abundance will meet their need, so that one day their abundance may meet yalls need, bringing about equality.
8:15 As it is written, He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. As it is written, The one who gathered much did not overshoot, and the one who gathered little did not fall short.
8:16 But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus. Thanks be to God, who put the same concern I have for yall in the heart of Titus.
8:17 For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord. For he not only welcomed our request, but being very diligent, he is coming to yall on his own initiative.
8:18 We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known throughout all the assemblies. We have sent him together with the sibling who is praised in all the churches for his gospel work.
8:19 Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness. And not only that, he was also appointed by the churches to accompany us with this gracious gift, which we are administering for the glory of the Lord himself and to show our zeal to help,
8:20 We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us. taking precaution so that no one will find any fault in the way we are administering this large gift.
8:21 Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. We are thinking carefully about acting with excellence, not only before the Lord, but also before humans.
8:22 We have sent with them our brother whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you. We are also sending our sibling whom we have tested many times in many things and found diligent, but now even more diligent because of his great confidence in yall.
8:23 As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ. As for Titus, he is my partner and coworker for yall, and as for our siblings, they are the apostles of the church to the glory of Christ.
8:24 Therefore show the proof of your love to them before the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf. Therefore, show all the churches the proof of yalls love for these men and the reason for our boasting about yall.
9:1 It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints, Indeed, it is unnecessary for me to write to yall concerning the deacon work to the saints,
9:2 for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to those of Macedonia, that Achaia has been prepared for the past year. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them. for I know yalls eagerness, and I boast about yall to the Macedonians, saying that Achaia has been prepared since last year. Yalls zeal has stirred up most of them.
9:3 But I have sent the brothers so that our boasting on your behalf may not be in vain in this respect, that, just as I said, you may be prepared, But I am sending the siblings so that our boasting about yall may not prove to be empty in this case, but that yall would be ready just as I said.
9:4 lest by any means, if anyone from Macedonia comes there with me and finds you unprepared, we to say nothing of you would be disappointed in this confident boasting. Otherwise, if any Macedonians come with me and find yall unprepared, we, not to mention yall, would be put to shame by this overconfidence.
9:5 I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness. So I deemed it necessary to urge the siblings to go on ahead to yall and arrange ahead of time the generous gift yall had promised. Then it would be ready as a matter of generosity, rather than coercion.
9:6 Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. This is the point: the person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.
9:7 Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Each person should give according to what they have determined in their heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver.
9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. And God is able to make every gracious gift overflow to yall, so by having everything in every situation, yall may overflow with every good work.
9:9 As it is written, He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever. As it is written, This person has scattered and given to the poor. Their righteousness endures forever.
9:10 Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness, Now ʜᴇ who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and increase yalls seed and cause the harvest of yalls righteousness to grow.
9:11 you being enriched in everything for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us. Yall will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.
9:12 For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God, For this deacon work of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.
9:13 seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all, Through the evidence of this deacon work they will glorify God for yalls obedient confession in the gospel of Christ and for the generosity of yalls contribution to them and to everyone,
9:14 while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you. and in their prayers for yall, they have affection for yall because of the surpassing grace of God in yall.
9:15 Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift! Now thanks be to God for ʜɪꜱ indescribable gift!
10:1 Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. Now I Paul, myself, appeal to yall by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am meek when face to face with yall, but bold toward yall when away!
10:2 Yes, I beg you that I may not, when present, show courage with the confidence with which I intend to be bold against some, who consider us to be walking according to the flesh. I ask that when I am present, I will not have to be as boldly confident as when I plan to be bold against those who consider us to be walking according to the flesh.
10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we dont wage war according to the flesh; For though we walk in the flesh, we dont wage war according to the flesh,
10:4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for tearing down fortresses.
10:5 throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, We tear down arguments and every lofty thing that is elevated against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
10:6 and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is made full. And we are prepared to retaliate for every act of disobedience when yalls obedience is complete.
10:7 Do you look at things only as they appear in front of your face? If anyone trusts in himself that he is Christs, let him consider this again with himself, that even as he is Christs, so we also are Christs. Yall are looking at whats in front of your face. If anyone is confident that they belong to Christ, they should consider this again from within: we belong to Christ just as much as they do.
10:8 For even if I boast somewhat abundantly concerning our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for casting you down, I will not be ashamed, For even if I boast a bit much about our authority, which the Lord gave for building yall up and not tearing yall down, I will not be ashamed.
10:9 that I may not seem as if I desire to terrify you by my letters. I dont want to seem as though I am trying to terrify yall with my letters.
10:10 For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is despised. For some say, His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speaking is forgettable.
10:11 Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such are we also in deed when we are present. Let such a person consider this, that what we are in the words of our letters when we are absent, we will also be in our actions when we are present.
10:12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding. For we dont classify or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But in measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.
10:13 But we will not boast beyond proper limits, but within the boundaries with which God appointed to us, which reach even to you. We, however, will not boast beyond certain limits, but within the boundaries God has appointed to us, which also comes around yall.
10:14 For we dont stretch ourselves too much, as though we didnt reach to you. For we came even as far as to you with the Good News of Christ, For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we hadnt come to yall. For we were the first to come to yall with the gospel of Christ,
10:15 not boasting beyond proper limits in other mens labors, but having hope that as your faith grows, we will be abundantly enlarged by you in our sphere of influence, so we are not boasting beyond our limits in other peoples labors. But we have hope that as yalls faith grows, the boundaries of our ministry will be expanded through yall,
10:16 so as to preach the Good News even to the parts beyond you, not to boast in what someone else has already done. so that we might preach the gospel in the regions beyond yall, not boasting about what has been done in someone elses area.
10:17 But he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord. But Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord YHWH.
10:18 For it isnt he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends. For it is not the one who commends themselves who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
11:1 I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you do bear with me. Id like yall to put up with a little foolishness from me. Yes, please put up with me!
11:2 For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy. For I promised you in marriage to one husband, that I might present you as a pure virgin to Christ. For I am jealous for yall with a godly jealousy, because I promised yall in marriage to one husband—Christ—that I might present yall as a pure virgin to him.
11:3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. But I fear that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, so yalls minds might be corrupted from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we didnt preach, or if you receive a different spirit which you didnt receive, or a different good news which you didnt accept, you put up with that well enough. For if someone comes and preaches another Jesus whom we didnt preach, or if yall receive a different spirit than the one yall received, or a different good news than the one yall accepted, yall put up with it well enough!
11:5 For I reckon that I am not at all behind the very best apostles. For I consider myself not at all inferior to those super apostles.
11:6 But though I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not unskilled in knowledge. No, in every way we have been revealed to you in all things. But though I am untrained in speech, I am not so in knowledge. Indeed, in every way we made this clear to yall in all things.
11:7 Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you Gods Good News free of charge? Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself so that yall would be exalted as I preached the gospel of God to yall free of charge?
11:8 I robbed other assemblies, taking wages from them that I might serve you. I robbed other churches by taking wages from them so that I might do deacon work for yall.
11:9 When I was present with you and was in need, I wasnt a burden on anyone, for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, supplied the measure of my need. In everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and I will continue to do so. When I was present with yall and needed something, I never burdened anyone, because the siblings who came from Macedonia supplied my needs. In everything I kept myself from being burdensome to yall, and I will continue to do so.
11:10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia. As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will block me from boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11:11 Why? Because I dont love you? God knows. Why? Because I dont love yall? God knows I do!
11:12 But what I do, that I will continue to do, that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity, that in which they boast, they may be recognized just like us. But what I am doing, I will continue to do, that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded as equal with us in the things they boast about.
11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christs apostles. For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.
11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. And no wonder! For even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.
11:15 It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. Therefore its not a big surprise that his deacons also masquerade as deacons of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their works.
11:16 I say again, let no one think me foolish. But if so, yet receive me as foolish, that I also may boast a little. I say again: let no one consider me a fool. But if yall do, then receive me as a fool, so that I also can boast a little.
11:17 That which I speak, I dont speak according to the Lord, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. When I speak in this confident boasting way, I am not speaking according to the Lord, but in foolishness.
11:18 Seeing that many boast after the flesh, I will also boast. Since many others boast according to the flesh, I will boast too.
11:19 For you bear with the foolish gladly, being wise. For yall, being so wise, gladly put up with fools!
11:20 For you bear with a man if he brings you into bondage, if he devours you, if he takes you captive, if he exalts himself, or if he strikes you on the face. In fact, yall even put up with someone who would enslave yall, devour yall, take advantage of yall, put yall down, or slap yall in the face.
11:21 To my shame, I speak as though we had been weak. Yet in whatever way anyone is bold I speak in foolishness, I am bold also. To my shame, I must say that we were too weak for that! Yet in whatever way anyone else dares to boast I am speaking foolishness I also dare to boast:
11:22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the offspring of Abraham? So am I. Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the descendants of Abraham? So am I.
11:23 Are they servants of Christ? I speak as one beside himself. I am more so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths often. Are they deacons of Christ? Im speaking like a crazy person I am more so: way more work, more times in prison, countless beatings, many times near death.
11:24 Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews. Five times I received forty lashes minus one from the Jews.
11:25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I have been a night and a day in the open sea.
11:26 I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers; I have been on many journeys, with dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own countrymen, dangers from ethnic groups, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers in the sea, and dangers from fake siblings.
11:27 in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness. I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, and been cold and naked.
11:28 Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily: anxiety for all the assemblies. Besides everything else, there is a daily pressure on me—my concern for all the churches.
11:29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I dont burn with indignation? Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I dont burn with indignation?
11:30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that concern my weakness. If it is necessary to boast, I will boast about my weakness.
11:31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, he who is blessed forever more, knows that I dont lie. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is to be blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
11:32 In Damascus the governor under King Aretas guarded the Damascenes city, desiring to arrest me. In Damascus a ruler under King Aretas was guarding the city of Damascenes in order to apprehend me.
11:33 I was let down in a basket through a window by the wall, and escaped his hands. But I was lowered in a basket from a window in the wall, and I escaped from his hands.
12:1 It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast, but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. Boasting is necessary, and even though its not profitable, I will continue on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
12:2 I know a man in Christ who was caught up into the third heaven fourteen years ago—whether in the body, I dont know, or whether out of the body, I dont know; God knows. I know a human in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up into the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body, I dont know—God knows.
12:3 I know such a man whether in the body, or outside of the body, I dont know; God knows, I know that this human—whether in the body, or apart from the body, I dont know, God knows—
12:4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a human being is not permitted to speak.
12:5 On behalf of such a one I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in my weaknesses. On behalf of this person I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except about my weaknesses.
12:6 For if I would desire to boast, I will not be foolish; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, so that no man may think more of me than that which he sees in me or hears from me. For if I wanted to boast, I wouldnt be a fool, because I would be telling the truth. But I refrain, so that no one will think more of me than what he sees in me or hears from me,
12:7 By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted excessively, a thorn in the flesh was given to me: a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I should not be exalted excessively. and because of the immeasurable greatness of the revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, I was given a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, that I would not exalt myself.
12:8 Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me. I pleaded with the Lord three times about this, that it would leave me.
12:9 He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. So then, I will gladly boast all the more in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christs sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong. For Christs sake, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in troubles, in persecutions, and in tight squeezes. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
12:11 I have become foolish in boasting. You compelled me, for I ought to have been commended by you, for I am in no way inferior to the very best apostles, though I am nothing. I have become a fool—yall forced me! For I should have been commended by yall, since I am the least inferior to the super apostles, even though I am nothing.
12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were worked among you in all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty works. Indeed, the signs of an apostle were performed among yall with all perseverance, through signs, wonders, and miracles.
12:13 For what is there in which you were made inferior to the rest of the assemblies, unless it is that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong! So how were yall made inferior to the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not burden yall? Forgive me for this wrong, yall!
12:14 Behold, this is the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I seek not your possessions, but you. For the children ought not to save up for the parents, but the parents for the children. Look, I am ready to come to yall a third time, and I will not be a burden, since I dont want yalls possessions, but yall. For children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
12:15 I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less? I will gladly spend and be spent for yalls souls. If I love yall more, am I to be loved less?
12:16 Even so, I myself didnt burden you. But you might say that being crafty, I caught you with deception. Even so, I didnt burden yall. But by being sneaky, I took yall in by deceit.
12:17 Did I take advantage of you by anyone of those whom I have sent to you? Did I take advantage of yall by anyone I sent to yall?
12:18 I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? Didnt we walk in the same spirit? Didnt we walk in the same steps? I exhorted Titus, and I sent the sibling with him. Titus didnt take advantage of yall, did he? Didnt we walk in the same Spirit and the same footsteps?
12:19 Again, do you think that we are excusing ourselves to you? In the sight of God we speak in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying. Have yall been thinking all this time that we are defending ourselves to yall? We have been speaking in the sight of God in Christ, and everything, beloved, is for building yall up.
12:20 For I am afraid that perhaps when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you dont desire, that perhaps there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, or riots, For I am afraid that when I come, I might not find yall the way I want, and yall might not find me as yall want. Perhaps there will be infighting, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder,
12:21 that again when I come my God would humble me before you, and I would mourn for many of those who have sinned before now, and not repented of the uncleanness, sexual immorality, and lustfulness which they committed. such that when I come again my God will humble me before yall, and I will be grieved for many who previously sinned and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality, and sensuality which they practiced.
13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. This is the third time I am coming to yall. Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
13:2 I have warned previously, and I warn again, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now and to all the rest that if I come again, I will not spare, I said previously when I was present the second time, and though now I am absent, I say again to those who sinned previously and to all the rest that if I come again, I will not spare anyone,
13:3 seeing that you seek a proof of Christ who speaks in me who is not weak, but is powerful in you. since yall are looking for a proof that Christ speaks in me. He is not weak in dealing with yall, but is powerful among yall.
13:4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you. For he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but through the power of God we will live with him in dealing with yall.
13:5 Examine your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or dont you know about your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. Yall must examine yourselves to see whether yall are in the faith. Yall should test yourselves. Or do yall not recognize that Jesus Christ is in yall?—unless indeed yall fail the test.
13:6 But I hope that you will know that we arent disqualified. But I hope that yall will recognize that we havent failed the test.
13:7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we may seem to have failed. Now I pray to God that yall wouldnt do anything worthless—not so that we will appear to have passed the test, but that yall may do what is excellent, even if we appear to fail the test.
13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.
13:9 For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray for this: your becoming perfect. For we rejoice when we are weak and yall are strong. We also pray for this: that yall would be made complete.
13:10 For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down. This is the reason I am writing these things while absent: so that I wont have to be severe when present, according to the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
13:11 Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Finally, siblings, rejoice yall! May yall be perfected, be comforted, be of one mind, and live at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with yall.
13:12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. Yall should greet one another with a holy kiss.
13:13 All the saints greet you. All the saints greet yall.
13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, Gods love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all yall.
