3:6 andWhoever whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be castthrown into a burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire
3:7 Therefore as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn pipe lyre trigon harp bagpipedrum and everyentire kindmusical ofensemble music all the peoples nations and languages fell down and worshiped the golden imagestatue whichthat King Nebuchadnez′zarNebuchadnezzar had set up

3:19 Then Nebuchadnez′zarNebuchadnezzar was fullso offilled furywith rage against Shadrach Meshach and theAbednego expressionthat of his face was changeddistorted against Shadrach Meshach and Abed′nego He ordered the furnace heated up seven times more than it was wontcustomary to be heated
3:20 Andand he ordered certainsome mightyof menthe ofstrongest guards in his army to bind Shadrach Meshach and Abed′negoAbednego and to castthrow them into the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire
3:21 ThenSo thesethe men were bound instill wearing their mantlestunics their tunicstrousers their hats and their other garments and they were castthrown into the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire

3:26 ThenNebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnez′zarthen cameapproached near to the door of the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire and said Shadrach Meshach and Abed′negoAbednego servants of the Most High God come forthout andCome come here ThenSo Shadrach Meshach and Abed′negoAbednego came out from the fire
3:27 And the satraps the prefects the governors and the kings counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men; the hair of their heads was not singed their mantlestunics were not harmed and nonot even the smell of fire hadcame comefrom upon them

4:16 letLet his mind be changed from that of a manshuman and let athe beasts mind of an animal be given to him; andAnd let seven times pass over him
4:17 The sentence is rendered by the decree of the watchers the decision is given by theorder word of the holy ones toin theorder end that theall livingwho live may know that the Most High rulesis sovereign over the kingdom of menmortals; andhe gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of menhuman beings

4:34 AtWhen thethat endperiod ofwas theover days I Nebuchadnez′zarNebuchadnezzar lifted my eyes to heaven and my reason returned to me and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored himthe one who lives forforever ever;For for his dominionsovereignty is an everlasting dominionsovereignty and his kingdom endures from generation to generation;

5:26 This is the interpretation of the matter: meneMENE God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end;
5:27 tekelTEKEL you have been weighed inon the balancesscales and found wanting;
5:28 peresPERES your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians
5:29 Then Belshaz′zarBelshazzar commandedgave the command and Daniel was clothed within purple a chain of gold was put aboutaround his neck and a proclamation was made concerning him that he should berank the third ruler in the kingdom
5:30 That very night Belshaz′zarBelshazzar the Chalde′anChaldean king was slainkilled
5:31 And Darius the Mede received the kingdom being about sixty two years old
6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom aone hundred and twenty satraps tostationed be throughout the whole kingdom;
6:2 and over them three presidents ofincluding whom Daniel; was one to whom these the satraps shouldgave give account so that the king might suffer no loss
6:3 ThenSoon this Daniel became distinguished himself above all the other presidents and satraps because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king planned to setappoint him over the whole kingdom
6:4 ThenSo the presidents and the satraps soughttried to find agrounds ground for complaint against Daniel within regardconnection towith the kingdom; butBut they could find no groundgrounds for complaint or any faultcorruption because he was faithful and no errornegligence or faultcorruption wascould be found in him
6:5 ThenThe these men said We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God
6:6 ThenSo thesethe presidents and satraps cameconspired byand agreementcame to the king and said to him O King Darius live forforever ever
6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom the prefects and the satraps the counselors and the governors are agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce an interdict that whoever makesprays petition to anyanyone goddivine or manhuman for thirty days except to you O king shall be castthrown into thea den of lions
6:10 WhenAlthough Daniel knew that the document had been signed he wentcontinued to go to his house wherewhich he had windows in hisits upper chamberroom open toward Jerusalem; and heto gotget down uponon his knees three times a day andto prayedpray andto gavehis thanksGod beforeand hispraise Godhim just as he had done previously
6:11 ThenThe theseconspirators men came by agreement and found Daniel makingpraying petition and supplicationseeking mercy before his God
6:12 Then they cameapproached nearthe king and said before the king concerning the interdict O king Did you not sign an interdict that anyanyone man who makesprays petition to anyanyone goddivine or manhuman within thirty days except to you O king shall be castthrown into thea den of lions The king answered The thing stands fast according to the law of the Medes and Persians which cannot be revoked
6:13 Then they answeredresponded beforeto the king That Daniel who is one of the exiles from Judah pays no heedattention to you O king or to the interdict you have signed but makeshe is saying his petitionprayers three times a day
6:14 ThenWhen the king whenheard hethe heardcharge thesehe words was very much distressed andHe setwas hisdetermined mind to deliversave Daniel; and heuntil labored till the sun went down he made every effort to rescue him
6:15 Then thesethe menconspirators came by agreement to the king and said to thehim king Know O king that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no interdict or ordinance whichthat the king establishes can be changed
6:16 Then the king commandedgave the command and Daniel was brought and castthrown into the den of lions The king said to Daniel May your God whom you faithfully serve continually deliver you
6:17 AndA a stone was brought and laid uponon the mouth of the den and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords so that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel
6:18 Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; no diversionsfood werewas brought to him and sleep fled from him
6:19 Then at break of day the king arosegot up and wenthurried in haste to the den of lions
6:20 When he came near to the den where Daniel was he cried out inanxiously a tone of anguish and said to Daniel O Daniel servant of the living God has your God whom you faithfully serve continually been able to deliver you from the lions
6:21 Then Daniel then said to the king O king live forforever ever
6:22 My God sent his angel and shut the lions mouths andso that they havewould not hurt me because I was found blameless before him; and also before you O king I have done no wrong
6:23 Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no kind of hurtharm was found uponon him beausebecause he had trusted in his God
6:24 AndThe the king commandedgave a command and those men who had accused Daniel were brought and castthrown into the den of lions—they their children and their wives; andBefore before they reached the bottom of the den the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces
6:25 Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples nations and languagesnations thatof dwellevery inlanguage allthroughout the earthwhole world: PeaceMay beyou multipliedhave toabundant youprosperity
6:26 I make a decree that in all my royal dominion menpeople should tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: forFor he is the living God enduring forforever ever; His his kingdom shall never be destroyed and his dominion shallhas beno to the end
6:27 He delivers and rescues he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth; for he who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions
7:1 In the first year of Belshaz′zarKing kingBelshazzar of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed Then he wrote down the dream: and told the sum of the matter
7:2 I Daniel said I saw in my vision by night and behold the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea
7:3 Andand four great beasts came up out of the sea different from one another
7:4 The first was like a lion and had eagles wings Then as I lookedwatched its wings were plucked off and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand uponon two feet like a manhuman being; and thea human mind of a man was given to it
7:5 AndAnother beholdbeast anotherappeared beast a second one that looked like a bear It was raised up on one side; it had three ribstusks in its mouth betweenamong its teeth; and it was told Arise devour muchmany fleshbodies
7:6 After this as I lookedwatched andanother loappeared another like a leopard withThe beast had four wings of a bird on its back; and the beast had four heads; and dominion was given to it
7:7 After this I saw in the night visions andby beholdnight a fourth beast terribleterrifying and dreadful and exceedingly strong; andIt it had great iron teeth; itand devouredwas anddevouring brokebreaking in pieces and stampedstamping thewhat residuewas left with its feet It was different from all the beasts that werepreceded before it; and it had ten horns
7:8 I consideredwas considering the horns andwhen beholdanother therehorn cameappeared a little one coming up among them; anotherto hornmake aroom littlefor oneit before which three of the firstearlier horns were plucked up by the roots; andThere behold in this horn were eyes like thehuman eyes ofin athis manhorn and a mouth speaking great things arrogantly
7:9 As I lookedwatched thrones were placedset andin oneplace thatand wasan ancientAncient ofOne days took his seat;throne his raimentclothing was white as snow and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames and its wheels were burning fire
7:10 A stream of fire issued and cameflowed forthout from beforehis him;presence aA thousand thousands served him and ten thousand times ten thousand stood beforeattending him; theThe court sat in judgment and the books were opened
7:11 I lookedwatched then because of the soundnoise of the greatarrogant words whichthat the horn was speaking And as I lookedwatched the beast was slainput to death and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire
7:13 As I sawwatched in the night visions andI beholdsaw withone thelike cloudsa ofhuman heavenbeing therecoming camewith onethe likeclouds a son of manheaven andAnd he came to the Ancient ofOne Days and was presented before him
7:14 AndTo to him was given dominion and glory and kingdomkingship that all peoples nations and languages should serve him; hisHis dominion is an everlasting dominion whichthat shall not pass away and his kingdomkingship is one that shall notnever be destroyed
7:15 As for me Daniel my spirit was troubled within me was anxious and the visions of my head alarmedterrified me
7:16 I approached one of thosethe whoattendants stoodto thereask and asked him the truth concerning all this So he toldsaid methat andhe madewould knowndisclose to me the interpretation of the thingsmatter:
7:17 TheseAs for these four great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth
7:18 But the saintsholy ones of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forforever—forever ever for ever and ever
7:19 Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast which was different from all the rest exceedingly terribleterrifying with its teeth of iron and claws of bronze; and which devoured and broke in pieces and stamped thewhat residuewas left with its feet;
7:20 and concerning the ten horns that were on its head and concerning the other horn which came up and beforeto make room for which three of them fell out—the horn whichthat had eyes and a mouth that spoke greatarrogantly things and whichthat seemed greater than itsthe fellowsothers
7:21 As I looked this horn made war with the saintsholy ones and prevailedwas prevailing over them
7:22 until the Ancient ofOne Days came; andthen judgment was given for the saintsholy ones of the Most High and the time camearrived when the saintsholy receivedones gained possession of the kingdom
7:23 ThusThis is what he said: As for the fourth beast there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth whichthat shall be different from all the other kingdoms; and it shall devour the whole earth and trample it down and break it to pieces
7:24 As for the ten horns out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise and another shall arise after them; heThis one shall be different from the former ones and shall put down three kings
7:25 He shall speak words against the Most High and shall wear out the saintsholy ones of the Most High and shall thinkattempt to change the timessacred seasons and the law; and they shall be given into his handpower for a time two times and half a time
7:26 ButThen the court shall sit in judgment and his dominion shall be taken away to be consumed and totally destroyed to the end
7:27 AndThe thekingship kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saintsholy ones of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom and all dominions shall serve and obey them
7:28 Here is the endaccount ofends the matter As for me Daniel my thoughts greatly alarmedterrified me and my colorface changedturned pale; but I kept the matter in my mind
8:1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshaz′zarBelshazzar a vision appeared to me Daniel after the one that whichhad appeared to me at the first
8:2 AndIn Ithe sawvision inI thewas vision;looking and when I saw Imyself was in Susa the capital which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision and I was atby the river U′laiUlai
8:3 I raisedlooked myup eyes and saw and behold a ram standing onbeside the bank of the river It had two horns; andBoth both horns were highlong but one was higherlonger than the other and the higherlonger one came up lastsecond
8:4 I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward; noAll beastbeasts couldwere standpowerless beforeto himwithstand it and there was no one who could rescue from hisits power; heit did as heit pleased and magnifiedbecame himselfstrong
8:5 As I was consideringwatching behold a hemale goat cameappeared from the west coming across the face of the whole earth without touching the ground; andThe the goat had a conspicuous horn between hisits eyes
8:6 HeIt came totoward the ram with the two horns whichthat I had seen standing onbeside the bank of the river and heit ran at himit inwith hissavage mightyforce wrath
8:7 I saw himit comeapproaching close to the ram andIt he was enraged against himit and struck the ram andbreaking brokeits his two horns; andThe the ram haddid nonot have power to standwithstand beforeit; himit butthrew hethe castram him down to the ground and trampled upon him;it and there was no one who could rescue the ram from hisits power
8:8 Then the hemale goat magnifiedgrew himselfexceedingly exceedinglygreat; but whenat hethe washeight strongof its power the great horn was broken and insteadin ofits itplace there came up four conspicuousprominent horns toward the four winds of heaven
8:9 Out of one of them came forthanother horn a little hornone which grew exceedingly great toward the south toward the east and toward the gloriousbeautiful land
8:10 It grew greatas evenhigh toas the host of heaven; andIt somethrew ofdown to the hostearth some of the starshost itand castsome downof to the groundstars and trampled uponon them
8:11 ItEven magnifiedagainst itselfthe evenprince upof to the Princehost ofit theacted hostarrogantly; andit took the continualregular burnt offering was taken away from him and overthrew the place of his sanctuary was overthrown
8:12 AndBecause of wickedness the host was given over to it together with the continualregular burnt offering through transgression; andit truth was cast downtruth to the ground and thekept hornprospering actedin andwhat prosperedit did
8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to the one that spoke For how long is thethis vision concerning the continualregular burnt offering the transgression that makes desolate and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled under foot
8:14 And he saidanswered to him For two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state
8:15 When I Daniel had seen the vision I soughttried to understand it; andThen beholdsomeone thereappeared stoodstanding before me one having the appearance of a man
8:16 Andand I heard a manshuman voice betweenby the banksUlai ofcalling the U′lai and it called Gabriel makehelp this man understand the vision
8:17 So he came near where I stood; and when he came I wasbecame frightened and fell uponprostrate my face But he said to me Understand O sonmortal of man that the vision is for the time of the end
8:18 As he was speaking to me I fell into a deeptrance sleep with my face to the ground; butthen he touched me and set me on my feet
8:19 He said BeholdListen and I will maketell known to you what shallwill betake atplace later in the latterperiod end of the indignationwrath; for it pertainsrefers to the appointed time of the end
8:20 As for the ram whichthat you saw with the two horns these are the kings of Media and Persia
8:21 AndThe themale he goat is the king of Greece; and the great horn between hisits eyes is the first king
8:23 AndAt at the latter end of their rule when the transgressorstransgressions have reached their full measure a king of bold countenance oneshall whoarise understandsskilled riddlesin shall arise intrigue
8:24 HisHe power shall begrow greatstrong andin hepower shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does andHe shall destroy mightythe menpowerful and the people of the saintsholy ones
8:25 By his cunning he shall make deceit prosper under his hand and in his own mind he shall magnifybe himselfgreat Without warning he shall destroy many; and he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes; butBut by no human hand he shall be broken and not by human hands
8:26 The vision of the evenings and the mornings whichthat has been told is true; butAs for you seal up the vision for it pertainsrefers to many days hencefrom now
8:27 AndSo I Daniel was overcome and lay sick for some days; then I rosearose and went about the kings business; butBut I was appalleddismayed by the vision and did not understand it
9:1 In the first year of Darius the son of AhasuAhasuerus e′rus by birth a Mede who became king over the realm of the Chalde′ansChaldeans—
9:2 in the first year of his reign I Daniel perceived in the books the number of years whichthat according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet Jeremiah must passbe beforefulfilled thefor end of the desolationsdevastation of Jerusalem namely seventy years
9:3 Then I turned my face to the Lord God seekingto himseek an answer by prayer and supplicationssupplication with fasting and sackcloth and ashes
9:4 I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession saying OAh Lord the great and terribleawesome God whokeeping keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love himyou and keep hisyour commandments
9:5 we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled turning aside from thyyour commandments and ordinances;
9:6 weWe have not listened to thyyour servants the prophets who spoke in thyyour name to our kings our princes and our fathersancestors and to all the people of the land
9:7 ToRighteousness theeis on your side O Lord belongs righteousness but toopen usshame confusion of face as at this day tofalls on us the menpeople of Judah to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to all Israel those thatwho are near and those thatwho are far away in all the lands to which thouyou hasthave driven them because of the treachery whichthat they have committed against theeyou
9:8 ToOpen usshame O Lord belongsfalls confusionon ofus face to our kings to our princesofficials and to our fathersancestors because we have sinned against theeyou
9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness; becausefor we have rebelled against him
9:11 All Israel has transgressed thyyour law and turned aside refusing to obey thyyour voice AndSo the curse and the oath which are written in the law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out upon us because we have sinned against himyou
9:12 He has confirmed his words which he spoke against us and against our rulers who ruled us by bringing upon us a great calamity; forso undergreat thethat wholewhat heaven there has not been done theagainst likeJerusalem ofhas whatnever hasbefore been done againstunder Jerusalemthe whole heaven
9:13 AsJust as it is written in the law of Moses all this calamity has come upon us yetWe wedid have not entreatedentreat the favor of the Lord our God turning from our iniquities and givingreflecting heedon tohis thyfidelity truth
9:14 ThereforeSo the Lord has kept readywatch theover this calamity anduntil hashe brought it upon us; forIndeed the Lord our God is righteousright in all thethat works which he has done; andfor we have notdisobeyed obeyed his voice
9:15 And now O Lord our God who didstbrought bringyour thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and hast made theeyour a name asrenowned ateven to this day —we have sinned we have done wickedly
9:16 O Lord accordingin toview of all thyyour righteous acts let thyyour anger and thy wrath we pray turn away from thyyour city Jerusalem thyyour holy hillmountain; because forof our sins and for the iniquities of our fathersancestors Jerusalem and thyyour people have become a byworddisgrace among all whoour areneighbors round about us
9:17 Now therefore O our God hearkenlisten to the prayer of thyyour servant and to his supplicationssupplication and for thyyour own sake O Lord causelet thyyour face to shine upon thyyour desolated sanctuary which is desolate
9:18 Incline your ear O my God incline thy ear and hear; openOpen thyyour eyes and beholdlook at our desolationsdesolation and the city whichthat isbears calledyour by thy name; forWe we do not present our supplicationssupplication before theeyou on the ground of our righteousness but on the ground of thyyour great mercymercies
9:19 O Lord hear; O Lord forgive; O Lord givelisten heed and act; delayand do not fordelay thyFor your own sake O my God because thyyour city and thyyour people arebear calledyour by thy name
9:20 While I was speaking and was praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God foron behalf of the holy hillmountain of my God;—
9:21 while I was speaking in prayer the man Gabriel whom I had seen before in thea vision at the first came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice
9:22 He came and he said to me O Daniel I have now come out to give you wisdom and understanding
9:23 At the beginning of your supplications a word went forthout and I have come to telldeclare it to you for you are greatly beloved; thereforeSo consider the word and understand the vision:
9:24 Seventy weeks of years are decreed concerningfor your people and your holy city: to finish the transgression to put an end to sin and to atone for iniquity to bring in everlasting righteousness to seal both vision and prophet and to anoint a most holy place
9:25 Know therefore and understand: that from the goingtime forththat of the word went out to restore and buildrebuild Jerusalem tountil the comingtime of an anointed one a prince there shall be seven weeks; Thenand for sixty two weeks it shall be built again with squaresstreets and moat but in a troubled time
9:26 AndAfter after the sixty two weeks an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing; and the peopletroops of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary Its end shall come with a flood and to the end there shall be war; desolationsDesolations are decreed
9:27 AndHe he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall causemake sacrifice and offering to cease; and uponin thetheir wingplace of abominations shall comebe onean whoabomination makesthat desolatedesolates until the decreed end is poured out onupon the desolator
10:1 In the third year of King Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed to Daniel who was named Belteshaz′zarBelteshazzar AndThe the word was true and it wasconcerned a great conflict AndHe he understood the word andhaving hadreceived understanding ofin the vision
10:2 InAt thosethat daystime I Daniel washad been mourning for three weeks
10:3 I atehad eaten no delicaciesrich food no meat or wine had entered my mouth norand did I anointhad not anointed myself at all for the full three weeks
10:5 I liftedlooked up my eyes and lookedsaw and behold a man clothed in linen whosewith loinsa werebelt girdedof with gold offrom Uphaz around his waist
10:6 His body was like beryl his face like the appearance of lightning his eyes like flaming torches his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze and the sound of his words like the noiseroar of a multitude
10:7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision; for the menpeople who were with me did not see the vision butthough a great trembling fell upon them and they fled toand hidehid themselves
10:8 So I was left alone andto sawsee this great vision andMy no strength was left in me; and my radiantcomplexion appearancegrew wasdeathly fearfullypale changed and I retained no strength
10:9 Then I heard the sound of his words; and when I heard the sound of his words I fell oninto my face in a deeptrance sleep with my face to the ground
10:10 AndBut beholdthen a hand touched me and setroused me tremblingto on my hands and knees
10:11 AndHe he said to me O Daniel man greatly beloved givepay heedattention to the words that I am going to speak to you andStand standon uprightyour feet for now I have now been sent to you WhileSo while he was speaking this word to me I stood up trembling
10:12 ThenHe he said to me FearDo not fear Daniel for from the first day that you set your mind to understandgain understanding and humbledto humble yourself before your God your words have been heard and I have come because of your words
10:13 TheBut the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstoodopposed me twenty one days; butSo Michael one of the chief princes came to help me soand I left him there with the prince of the kingdom of Persia
10:14 and camehave come to makehelp you understand what is to befallhappen to your people inat the latterend of days For thethere vision is fora daysfurther yetvision tofor comethose days
10:15 WhenWhile he hadwas spokenspeaking tothese mewords according to theseme words I turned my face toward the ground and was dumbspeechless
10:16 AndThen behold one in thehuman likenessform of the sons of men touched my lips; thenand I opened my mouth andto spokespeak Iand said to himthe one who stood before me OMy my lord bybecause reason of the vision such pains have come upon me andthat I retain no strength
10:17 How can my lords servant talk with my lord For nowI am shaking no strength remains in me and no breath is left in me
10:18 Again one havingin thehuman appearanceform of a man touched me and strengthened me
10:19 AndHe he said ODo mannot fear greatly beloved fearyou notare peacesafe beBe with you; be strong and ofcourageous goodWhen courage And when he spoke to me I was strengthened and said Let my lord speak for you have strengthened me
10:20 Then he said Do you know why I have come to you ButNow now I willmust return to fight against the prince of Persia; and when I am through with him lo the prince of Greece will come
10:21 But I willam to tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: thereThere is noneno whoone contendswith byme mywho sidecontends against these princes except Michael your prince
