In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying, |
| 1:3 |
Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts;: TurnReturn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turnreturn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 1:4 |
Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts;, TurnReturn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord. |
| 1:6 |
But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not takeovertake hold of your fathers? and they returnedturned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us. |
| 1:7 |
Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month SebatShebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying, |
| 1:8 |
I saw byin the night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there redwere horses, speckledred, sorrel, and white. |
| 1:13 |
And the Lord answered the angel that talked with me with good words, andeven comfortable words. |
| 1:14 |
So the angel that communedtalked with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts;: I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. |
| 1:15 |
And I am very sore displeased with the heathennations that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. |
| 1:16 |
Therefore thus saith the Lord;: I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies:; my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth uponover Jerusalem. |
| 1:17 |
Cry yet again, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts;: My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem. |
| 1:18 |
ThenAnd I lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns. |
| 1:20 |
And the Lord shewed me four carpenterssmiths. |
| 1:21 |
Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast outdown the horns of the Gentilesnations, which lifted up their horn overagainst the land of Judah to scatter it. |
| 2:1 |
And I lifted up mine eyes again, and lookedsaw, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand. |
| 2:4 |
Andand said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as townsvillages without walls, forby reason of the multitude of men and cattle therein:. |
| 2:5 |
For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her. |
| 2:6 |
Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord. |
| 2:7 |
DeliverHo thyselfZion, O Zionescape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. |
| 2:8 |
For thus saith the Lord of hosts;: After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. |
| 2:9 |
For, behold, I will shake mine hand uponover them, and they shall be a spoil to theirthose servantsthat served them: and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me. |
| 2:11 |
And many nations shall bejoin joinedthemselves to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee. |
| 2:12 |
And the Lord shall inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and shall yet choose Jerusalem again. |
| 2:13 |
Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raisedwaked up out of his holy habitation. |
| 3:1 |
And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resistbe himhis adversary. |
| 3:2 |
And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; evenyea, the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? |
| 3:4 |
And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from off him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with changerich of raimentapparel. |
| 3:5 |
And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments.; Andand the angel of the Lord stood by. |
| 3:7 |
Thus saith the Lord of hosts;: If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou also shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee placesa toplace walkof access among these that stand by. |
| 3:8 |
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee:; for they are men wonderedwhich atare a sign: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch. |
| 3:9 |
For behold, the stone that I have laidset before Joshua; upon one stone shallare be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. |
| 4:2 |
And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have lookedseen, and behold, a candlestick all of gold, with aits bowl upon the top of it, and hisits seven lamps thereon,; andthere are seven pipes to each of the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: |
| 4:3 |
Andand two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. |
| 4:4 |
SoAnd I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my Lord? |
| 4:7 |
Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstonehead thereofstone with shoutings, crying,of Grace, grace, unto it. |
| 4:10 |
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel, witheven thosethese seven;, theywhich are the eyes of the Lord,; whichthey run to and fro through the whole earth. |
| 4:12 |
And I answered againthe second time, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches, which throughare beside the two golden pipesspouts, that empty the golden oil out of themselves? |
| 4:14 |
Then said he, These are the two anointedsons onesof oil, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth. |
| 5:1 |
Then again I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and lookedsaw, and behold, a flying roll. |
| 5:3 |
Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earthland: for every one that stealeth shall be cutpurged offout as on thisthe one side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cutpurged offout as on thatthe other side according to it. |
| 5:4 |
I will bringcause it to go forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remainabide in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof. |
| 5:6 |
And I said, What is it? And he said, This is anthe ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance throughin all the earth.land: |
| 5:7 |
And,and behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman thatsitting sitteth in the midst of the ephah. |
| 5:8 |
And he said, This is wickedness.Wickedness; Andand he cast ither down into the midst of the ephah;: and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. |
| 5:9 |
Then lifted I up mine eyes, and lookedsaw, and, behold, there came outforth two women, and the wind was in their wings; fornow they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. |
| 5:11 |
And he said unto me, To build ither an house in the land of Shinar: and when it is prepared, she shall be established, and set there uponin her own baseplace. |
| 6:1 |
And again I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and lookedsaw, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. |
| 6:3 |
Andand in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. |
| 6:5 |
And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spiritswinds of the heavensheaven, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. |
| 6:6 |
The blackchariot horseswherein which are thereinthe goblack horses goeth forth intotoward the north country; and the white gowent forth after them; and the grisled gowent forth toward the south country. |
| 6:8 |
Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, thesethey that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country. |
| 6:10 |
Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah,; which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, whither they are come from Babylon; |
| 6:11 |
Thenyea, take of them silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of JosedechJehozadak, the high priest; |
| 6:12 |
Andand speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is Thethe Branch; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord: |
| 6:13 |

| 7:6 |
And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, diddo not ye eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves? |
| 7:7 |

| 7:9 |
Thus speakethhath the Lord of hosts spoken, saying, Execute true judgmentjudgement, and shew mercy and compassionscompassion every man to his brother: |

| 7:12 |
Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hathhad sent inby his spirit by the hand of the former prophets: therefore came athere great wrath from the Lord of hosts. |
