1:24 “What do Youyou have to do with us, Jesus—Nazarene of Nazareth? Have Youyou come to destroy us? I know who Youyou are — the Holy One of God!”
1:25 But Jesus rebuked him and saidsaying, “Be quietsilent, and come out of him!”
1:26 And the unclean spirit convulsedthrew him into convulsions, shouted with a loud voice, and came out of him.
1:27 ThenThey they were all amazed, and so they began to argueask witheach one anotherother, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Himhim.”

1:36 Simon and his companions wentsearched searching for Him.him,
1:37 Theyand when they found Himhim andthey said, “Everyone’s is looking for You!”you.”
1:38 And Hehe said to them, “Let’s go on to the neighboring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.”

1:41 Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out Hishis hand and touched him. “I am willing,” Hehe told him. “Be made clean.”
1:42 Immediately the diseaseleprosy left him, and he was healedmade clean.
1:43 Then Hehe sternly warned him and sent him away at once,
1:44 telling him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer what Moses prescribedcommanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
1:45 Yet he went out and began to proclaim it widely and to spread the news, with the result that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly. But Hehe was out in deserted places, and they wouldcame come to Himhim from everywhere.
2:1 When Hehe entered Capernaum again after some days, it was reported that Hehe was at home.
2:2 So many people gathered together that there was no more room, not even in the doorway, and Hehe was speaking the messageword to them.
2:3 ThenThey they came to Himhim bringing a paralytic, carried by four menof them.
2:4 Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above wherehim, Heand was.after Anddigging whenthrough they had broken throughit, they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
2:6 But some of the scribes were sitting there, thinkingquestioning toin themselvestheir hearts:
2:7 “Why does Hehe speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
2:8 Right away Jesus understoodperceived in Hishis spirit that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?
2:9 Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, picktake up your mat, and walk’?
2:10 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,””  He— he told the paralytic, —
2:11 “I tell you: get up, picktake up your mat, and go home.”
2:12 Immediately he got up, pickedtook up the mat, and went out in front of everyone. As a result, they were all astounded and gave glory to God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
2:13 Then Jesus went out again beside the sea. The whole crowd was coming to Himhim, and Hehe taughtwas teaching them.
2:14 Then, movingpassing onby, Hehe saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and Hehe said to him, “Follow Me!”me,” Soand he got up and followed Himhim.
2:15 While Hehe was reclining at the table in Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were alsoeating guests with Jesus and Hishis disciples, becausefor there were many who were following Himhim.
2:16 When the scribes ofwho thewere Pharisees saw that Hehe was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked Hishis disciples, “Why does Hehe eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
2:17 When Jesus heard this, Hehe told them, “ThoseIt is not those who are well don’twho need a doctor, but thethose sickwho doare need onesick. I didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
2:18 Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. People came and asked Himhim, “Why do John’s disciples and the Pharisees’ disciples fast, but Youryour disciples do not fast?”

2:24 The Pharisees said to Himhim, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
2:25 He said to them, “Have you never read what David and those who were with him did when he was in need and hungry —
2:26 how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest and ate the sacredbread breadof the Presence — which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests — and also gave some to his companions?”
2:27 Then Hehe told them, “The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath.
2:28 ThereforeSo then, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
3:1 NowJesus He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a paralyzedshriveled hand.
3:2 In order to accuse Himhim, they were watching Himhim closely to see whether Hehe would heal him on the Sabbath.
3:3 He told the man with the paralyzedshriveled hand, “Stand before us.”
3:4 Then Hehe said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do whatgood ison goodthe Sabbath or to do what is evil, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
3:5 After looking around at them with anger, andhe sorrowwas grieved at the hardness of their hearts, Heand told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
3:6 Immediately the Pharisees went out and started plotting with the Herodians against Himhim, how they might destroykill Himhim.
3:7 Jesus departed with Hishis disciples to the sea, and a large crowd followed from Galilee, and a large crowd followed from Judea,
3:8 Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to Himhim because they heard about everything Hehe was doing.
3:9 Then Hehe told Hishis disciples to have a small boat ready for Himhim, so that the crowd wouldwouldn’t not crush Himhim.
3:10 Since Hehe had healed many, all who had diseases were pressing toward Himhim to touch Himhim.
3:11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw Himhim, thosethey possessed fell down before Himhim and cried out, “You are the Son of God!”
3:12 And Hehe would strongly warn them not to make Himhim known.
3:13 ThenJesus He went up the mountain and summoned those Hehe wanted, and they came to Himhim.
3:14 He also appointed 12—Hetwelve, whom he also named themapostles, apostles—to be with Himhim, to send them out to preach,
3:16 He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, Hehe gave the name Peter;
3:17 and to James the son of Zebedee, and to his brother John, Hehe gave the name “Boanerges” (that is, “Sons of Thunder”);
3:19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Himhim.
3:20 ThenJesus Heentered wenta homehouse, and the crowd gathered again so that they were not even able to eat.
3:21 When Hishis family heard this, they set out to restrain Himhim, because they said, “He’s out of Hishis mind.”
3:22 The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said, “He hasis Beelzebulpossessed inby Him!”Beelzebul,” and, “He drives out demons by the ruler of the demons!”.”
3:23 So Hehe summoned them and spoke to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?
3:26 And if Satan rebelsopposes against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but is finished!.
3:27 “OnBut the other hand, no one can enter a strong man’s house and robplunder his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he willcan robplunder his house.
3:28 “Truly I assuretell you:, Peoplepeople will be forgiven for all sins and whatever blasphemies they may blasphemeutter.
3:29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”—”  —
3:31 Then His mother and Hishis brothers came, and standing outside, they sent word to Himhim and called Himhim.
3:32 A crowd was sitting around Himhim and told Himhim, “Look, Youryour mother, Youryour brothers, and Youryour sisters are outside asking for Youyou.”
3:33 He replied to them, “Who are Mymy mother and Mymy brothers?”
3:34 AndLooking looking about at those who were sitting in a circle around Himhim, Hehe said, “Here are Mymy mother and Mymy brothers!
3:35 Whoever does the will of God is Mymy brother and sister and mother.”
4:1 Again Hehe began to teach by the sea, and a very large crowd gathered around Himhim. So Hehe got into a boat on the sea and sat down, while the whole crowd was onby the shoresea facingon the seashore.
4:2 He taught them many things in parables, and in Hishis teaching Hehe said to them:,
4:4 As he sowed, thissome occurred: Some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and atedevoured it up.
4:5 Other seed fell on rocky ground where it didn’t have much soil, and it spranggrew up right awayquickly, since itthe didnsoil wasn’t have deep soil.
4:6 When the sun came up, it was scorched, and since it didn’thad haveno a root, it withered away.
4:7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it didn’t produce a cropfruit.
4:8 Still othersother seed fell on good ground and producedit agrew cropup, producing fruit that increased 30thirty, 60sixty, and 100a hundred times what was sown.”
4:9 Then Hehe said, “AnyoneLet anyone who has ears to hear shouldlisten.” listen!”
4:10 When Hehe was alone with the Twelve, those whoaround werehim aroundwith Himthe Twelve asked Himhim about the parables.
4:12 so that they may indeed look, and look, yet not perceive; they may indeed listen, and listen, yet not understand; otherwise, they might turn back— and be forgiven.”
4:13 Then Hehe said to them:, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand anyall of the parables?
4:15 TheseSome are like the onesword alongsown on the path. whereWhen the word is sown: when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word sown in them.
4:16 And theseothers are thelike onesseed sown on rocky ground:. whenWhen they hear the word, immediately they receive it with joy.
4:17 But they have no root in themselves; they are short-lived. When pressuredistress or persecution comes because of the word, they immediately stumblefall away.
4:18 Others are like seed sown among thorns; these are the ones who hear the word,
4:19 but the worries of this age, the seductiondeceitfulness of wealth, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
4:20 ButAnd thethose oneslike seed sown on good ground are those who hear the word, welcome it, and produce afruit crop: 30thirty, 60sixty, and 100a hundred times what was sown.”
4:22 For nothingthere is concealednothing excepthidden tothat will not be revealed, and nothing hiddenconcealed exceptthat towill comenot be brought to light.
4:23 If anyone has ears to hear, helet shouldhim listen!”.”
4:24 ThenAnd Hehe said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By the measure you use, it will be measured to you — and more will be added to you.
4:25 For towhoever the one who has, itmore will be given to him, and fromwhoever the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
4:26 “The kingdom of God is like this,” Hehe said. “A man scatters seed on the ground;.
4:27 heHe sleeps and rises— night and day,; and the seed sprouts and grows—, although he doesn’t know how.
4:28 The soil produces a crop by itself — first the blade, then the head, and then the ripefull grain on the head.
4:29 ButAs as soon as the crop is ready, he sends for the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
4:30 And Hehe said:, “HowWith what can we illustratecompare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to describe it?
4:31 It’s like a mustard seed that, when sown inupon the soil, is smallerthe thansmallest of all the seeds on the ground.
4:32 And when sown, it comes up and grows taller than all the vegetablesgarden plants, and produces large branches, so that the birds of the sky can nest in its shade.”
4:33 He wouldwas speakspeaking the word to them with many parables like these, as they were able to understand.
4:34 And He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, Hehe wouldexplained explain everything to Hishis own disciples.
4:35 On that day, when evening had come, Hehe told them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the sea.”
4:36 So they left the crowd and took Himhim along since Hehe was already in the boat. And other boats were with Himhim.
4:37 A fiercegreat windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped.
4:38 But He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Himhim up and said to Himhim, “Teacher! Don’t Youyou care that we’re going to die?”
4:40 Then Hehe said to them, “Why are you fearfulafraid? Do you still have no faith?”
4:41 And they were terrified and asked one another, “Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey Himhim!”
5:1 ThenThey they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes.
5:2 As soon as Hehe got out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came out of the tombs and met Himhim.
5:3 He lived in the tombs., Noand no one was able to restrain him anymore — not even with chainsa chain  —
5:4 because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, but had snappedtorn off the chains apart and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
5:5 AndNight always, night and day, he was crying out among the tombs and inon the mountains, he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.
5:6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt down before Himhim.
5:7 And he cried out with a loud voice, “What do Youyou have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg Youyou before God, don’t torment me!”
5:8 For Hehe had told him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”
5:9 “What is your name?” Hehe asked him. “My name is Legion,” he answered Himhim, “because we are many.”
5:10 And he keptbegged begginghim Himearnestly not to send them out of the region.
5:11 NowA a large herd of pigs was there, feeding on the hillside.
5:12 The demons begged Himhim, “Send us to the pigs, so that we may enter them.”
5:13 AndSo Hehe gave them permission., Thenand the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs,. andThe the herd of about 2,000two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned there.
5:15 They came to Jesus and saw the man who had been demon-possessed by the legion, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
5:16 TheThose eyewitnesseswho had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and told about the pigs.
5:17 Then they began to beg Himhim to leave their region.
5:18 As Hehe was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed keptbegged begginghim Himearnestly tothat behe might remain with Himhim.
5:19 ButJesus Hedid would not let him; instead, but He told him, “Go back home to your own people, and report to them how much the Lord has done for you and how Hehe has had mercy on you.”
5:21 When Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Himhim while Hehe was by the sea.
5:22 One of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at Hishis feet
5:23 and keptbegged begginghim Himearnestly, “My little daughter is at death’s doordying. Come and lay Youryour hands on her so that she can get well and live.”
5:24 So Jesus went with him, and a large crowd was following and pressing against Himhim.
5:25 ANow a woman suffering from bleeding for 12twelve years
5:27 Having heard about Jesus, she came up behind Himhim in the crowd and touched Hishis robeclothing.
5:28 For she said, “If I can just touch Hishis robesclothes, I’ll be made well!”.”
5:29 Instantly her flow of blood ceased, and she sensed in her body that she was curedhealed of her affliction.
5:30 AtImmediately once Jesus realized in Himself that power had gone out from Himhim. He turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched Mymy robesclothes?”
5:31 His disciples said to Himhim, “You see the crowd pressing against Youyou, and Youyet you say, ‘Who touched Meme?’”
5:32 SoBut Hehe was looking around to see who had done this.
5:33 ThenThe the woman, with fear and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came with fear and trembling, fell down before Himhim, and told Himhim the whole truth.
5:34 “Daughter,” Hehe said to her, “your faith has madesaved you well. Go in peace and be freehealed from your affliction.”
5:35 While Hehe was still speaking, people came from the synagogue leader’s house and said, “Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacherteacher anymore?”
5:36 ButWhen when Jesus overheard what was said, Hehe told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe.”
5:37 He did not let anyone accompany Himhim except Peter, James, and John, James’s brother.
5:38 They came to the leader’s house, and Hehe saw a commotion — people weeping and wailing loudly.
5:40 They startedlaughed laughing at Himhim, but Hehe put them all outside. He took the child’s father, mother, and those who were with Himhim, and entered the place where the child was.
5:41 Then Hehe took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!”” (which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!””).
5:42 Immediately the girl got up and began to walk. (She was 12twelve years old.) At this they were utterly astounded.
5:43 Then Hehe gave them strict orders that no one should know about this and saidtold thatthem sheto shouldgive beher given something to eat.
6:1 He wentleft away from there and came to Hishis hometown, and Hishis disciples followed Himhim.
6:2 When the Sabbath came, Hehe began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Himhim were astonished. “Where did this man get these things?” they said. “What is this wisdom that has been given to Himhim, and how are these miracles performed by Hishis hands?
6:3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t Hishis sisters here with us?” So they were offended by Himhim.
6:4 Then Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his household.”
6:5 So He was not able to do anya miraclesmiracle there, except that Hehe laid Hishis hands on a few sick people and healed them.
6:6 And Hehe was amazed at their unbelief. Now He was going around the villages in a circuit, teaching.
6:8 He instructed them to take nothing for the road except a walkingstaff stick:— no bread, no traveling bag, no money in their belts.,
6:9 Theybut were to wear sandals, butand not put on an extra shirt.
6:10 Then He said to them, “Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that place.
6:11 If any place does not welcome you andor people refuse to listen to you, when you leave there, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”
6:13 AndThey theydrove were driving out many demons, anointinganointed many sick people with olive oil, and healinghealed them.
6:14 King Herod heard ofabout thisit, because Jesus’s name had become well known. Some said, “John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that’s why supernaturalmiraculous powers are at work in him.”
6:15 But others said, “He’s Elijah.” Still others said, “He’s a prophet—, like one of the prophets from long ago.”
6:17 For Herod himself had given orders to arrest John and to chain him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, whombecause he had married her.
6:18 John had been telling Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife!”.”
6:20 because Herod wasfeared in awe of John and wasprotected protecting him, knowing he was a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard him he would be very disturbedperplexed, and yet wouldhe hearliked to listen to him. gladly.
6:21 NowAn an opportune time came on his birthday, when Herod gave a banquet for his nobles, military commanders, and the leading men of Galilee.
6:23 SoHe hepromised sworeher oathswith toan heroath: “Whatever you ask me I will give you, up to half my kingdom.”
6:24 ThenShe she went out and said to her mother, “What should I ask for?” “John the Baptist’s head!”,” she said.
6:25 ImmediatelyAt once she hurried to the king and said, “I want you to give me John the Baptist’s head on a platter—right now!”immediately.”
6:26 ThoughAlthough the king was deeply distressed, because of his oaths and the guests he did not want to refuse her.
6:29 When hisJohn’s disciples heard about it, they came and removed his corpse and placed it in a tomb.
6:30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Himhim all that they had done and taught.
6:33 but many saw them leaving and recognized them., Peopleand they ran thereon byfoot land from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.
6:34 SoWhen ashe Hewent stepped ashore, Hehe saw a hugelarge crowd and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Then Hehe began to teach them many things.
6:35 When it wasgrew already late, Hishis disciples approached Himhim and said, “This place is a wildernessdeserted, and it is already late!.
6:36 Send them away, so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages to buy themselves something to eat.”
6:37 “You give them something to eat,” Hehe responded. They said to Himhim, “Should we go and buy 200two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
6:38 And He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? Go lookand see.” When they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.”
6:39 Then Hehe instructed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass.
6:40 So they sat down in ranksgroups of hundreds and fifties.
6:41 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, Hehe blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to Hishis disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.
6:42 Everyone ate and was filledsatisfied.
6:43 ThenThey they picked up 12twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and fish.
6:44 Now those who atehad eaten the loaves were 5,000five thousand men.
6:45 Immediately Hehe made Hishis disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Himhim to the other side, to Bethsaida, while Hehe dismissed the crowd.
6:46 After Hehe said good-bye to them, Hehe went away to the mountain to pray.
6:47 WhenWell eveninginto camethe night, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and Hehe was alone on the land.
6:48 He saw them beingstraining batteredat asthe they rowedoars, because the wind was against them. AroundVery threeearly in the morning Hehe came toward them walking on the sea and wanted to pass by them.
6:49 When they saw Himhim walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out;,
6:50 forbecause they all saw Himhim and were terrified. Immediately Hehe spoke with them and said, “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
6:51 Then Hehe got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. They were completely astounded,
6:53 When they had crossed over, they came to landshore at Gennesaret and beachedanchored the boatthere.
6:54 As they got out of the boat, people immediately recognized Himhim.
6:55 They hurried throughout that vicinityregion and began to carry the sick on mats to wherever they heard Hehe was.
6:56 Wherever Hehe would gowent, into villages, towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Himhim that they might touch just the tasselend of Hishis robe. And everyone who touched it was made wellhealed.
7:1 The Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Himhim.
7:2 They observed that some of Hishis disciples were eating their bread with unclean  — that is, unwashed — hands.
7:3 (For the Pharisees, inand fact all the Jews, willdo not eat unless they washgive their hands rituallya ceremonial washing, keeping the tradition of the elders.
7:4 When they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they have washed. And there are many other customs they have received and keep, like the washing of cups, jugspitchers, copper utensilskettles, and dining couches.)
7:5 ThenSo the Pharisees and the scribes asked Himhim, “Why don’t Youryour disciples live according to the tradition of the elders, instead of eating bread with rituallyceremonially unclean hands?”
7:6 He answered them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: TheseThis people honorhonors Meme with their lips, but their heart is far from Meme.
7:7 They worship Meme in vain, teaching as doctrines thehuman commands. of men.
7:8 Disregarding Abandoning the command of God, you keephold theon traditionto ofhuman mentradition.”
7:9 He also said to them, “You completelyhave invalidatea fine way of invalidating God’s command in order to maintainset up your tradition!
7:11 But you say, ‘If aanyone man tells his father or mother: Whatever benefit you might have received from me is Corbancorban’” (that is, aan giftoffering committeddevoted to the templeGod),
7:13 You revokenullify God’sthe word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many other similar things.”
7:14 Summoning the crowd again, Hehe told them, “Listen to Meme, all of you, and understand:
7:15 Nothing that goes into a person from outside can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him..”
7:16 [If anyone has ears to hear, he should listen!]”
7:17 When Hehe went into the house away from the crowd, thehis disciples asked Himhim about the parable.
7:18 And He said to them, “Are you also as lacking in understanding? Don’t you realize that nothing going into a manperson from the outside can defile him?
7:19 For it doesn’t go into his heart but into the stomach and is eliminated.”” (Asthus ahe result, declared He made all foods clean).)
7:20 ThenAnd Hehe said, “What comes out of a person—that is what defiles him.
7:22 adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, promiscuityself-indulgence, stinginessenvy, blasphemyslander, pride, and foolishness.
7:24 He got up and departed from there to the region of Tyre and Sidon. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it, but Hehe could not escape notice.
7:25 Instead, immediately after hearing about Himhim, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit came and fell at Hishis feet.
7:26 NowThe the woman was Greeka Gentile, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she keptwas asking Himhim to drivecast the demon out of her daughter.
7:27 He said to her, “AllowLet the children to be satisfiedfed first, because it isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
7:28 But she replied to Himhim, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
7:29 Then Hehe told her, “Because of this reply, you may go. The demon has goneleft out of your daughter.”
7:31 Again, leaving the region of Tyre, Hehe went by way of Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, through the region of the Decapolis.
7:32 They brought to Himhim a deaf man who also had adifficulty speechspeaking difficulty, and begged Jesus to lay Hishis hand on him.
7:33 So Hehe took him away from the crowd privatelyin private. After putting Hishis fingers in the man’s ears and spitting, Hehe touched his tongue.
7:34 Then,Looking looking up to heaven, Hehe sighed deeply and said to him, “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”).
7:35 Immediately his ears were opened, his speechtongue difficulty was removedloosened, and he began to speak clearly.
7:36 Then He ordered them to tell no one, but the more Hehe wouldordered order them, the more they wouldproclaimed proclaim it.
7:37 They were extremely astonished and said, “He has done everything well!. He even makes the deaf people hear, and peoplethe unablemute to speak, talk!”.”
8:1 In those days there was again a large crowd, and they had nothing to eat. He summonedcalled the disciples and said to them,
8:2 “I have compassion on the crowd, because they’ve already stayed with Meme three days and have nothing to eat.
8:4 His disciples answered Himhim, “Where can anyone get enough bread here in this desolate place to fillfeed these people?”
8:5 “How many loaves do you have?” Hehe asked them. “Seven,” they said.
8:6 Then He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. Taking the seven loaves, Hehe gave thanks, broke the loavesthem, and keptgave on giving them to Hishis disciples to set before the people. So they served thethem loaves to the crowd.
8:7 They also had a few small fish, and whenafter Hehe had blessed them, Hehe said these were to be served as well.
8:8 They ate and were filledsatisfied. Then they collected seven large baskets of leftover pieces.
8:9 About 4,000four menthousand were there. He dismissed them.
8:10 andAnd he immediately got into the boat with Hishis disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.
8:11 The Pharisees came out and began to argue with Himhim, demanding of Himhim a sign from heaven to test Himhim.
8:12 ButSighing sighing deeply in Hishis spirit, Hehe said, “Why does this generation demand a sign? Truly I assuretell you:, Nono sign will be given to this generation!”.”
8:13 Then Hehe left them, got onback boardinto the boat again, and went to the other side.
8:14 TheyThe disciples had forgotten to take bread and had only one loaf with them in the boat.
8:15 Then Hehe commandedgave them strict orders: “Watch out! Beware of the yeastleaven of the Pharisees and the yeastleaven of Herod.”
8:17 Aware of this, Hehe said to them, “Why are you discussing thatthe fact you do not have anyno bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? IsDo youryou hearthave hardened hearts?
8:18 Do you have eyes, and not see,; and do you have ears, and not hear? And do you not remember?
8:19 When I broke the five loaves for the 5five thousand,000, how many baskets full of piecesleftovers of bread did you collect?” “Twelve,” they told Himhim.
8:20 “When I broke the seven loaves for the 4four thousand,000, how many large baskets full of pieces of bread did you collect?” “Seven,” they said.
8:21 And Hehe said to them, “Don’t you understand yet?”
8:22 ThenThey they came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to Himhim and begged Himhim to touch him.
8:23 He took the blind man by the hand and brought him out of the village. Spitting on his eyes and laying Hishis hands on him, Hehe asked him, “Do you see anything?”
8:24 He looked up and said, “I see people — they look to me like trees walking.”
8:25 Again Jesus placed Hishis hands on the man’s eyes,. andThe heman sawlooked distinctly.intently Heand his sight was curedrestored and couldhe seesaw everything clearly.
8:26 Then Hehe sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”
8:27 Jesus went out with Hishis disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the road Hehe asked Hishis disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”
8:28 They answered Himhim, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, one of the prophets.”
8:29 “But you,” Hehe asked them again, “who do you say that I am?” Peter answered Himhim, “You are the Messiah!”.”
8:30 And Hehe strictly warned them to tell no one about Himhim.
8:31 Then Hehe began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man mustto suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, be killed, and rise after three days.
8:32 He wasspoke openly talking about this. So Peter took Himhim aside and began to rebuke Himhim.
8:33 But turning around and looking at Hishis disciples, Hehe rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Meme, Satan,! becauseYou you’reare not thinking about God’s concerns, but man’s!”human concerns.”
8:34 SummoningCalling the crowd along with Hishis disciples, Hehe said to them, “If anyone wants to befollow Myafter followerme, helet musthim deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Meme.
8:35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Meme and the gospel will save it.
8:36 For what does it benefit asomeone man to gain the whole world and yet lose his life?
8:37 What can aanyone man give in exchange for his life?
8:38 For whoever is ashamed of Meme and ofmy My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when Hehe comes in the glory of Hishis Father with the holy angels.”
9:1 Then Hehe said to them, “Truly I assuretell you:, Therethere are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God come in power.”
9:2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves to be alone. He was transformedtransfigured in front of them,
9:3 and Hishis clothes became dazzling — extremely white as no launderer on earth could whiten them.
9:5 Then Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it’s good for us to be here!. Let’s usset makeup three tabernaclesshelters: one for Youyou, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—” —
9:6 because he did not know what heto should say, since they were terrified.
9:7 A cloud appeared, overshadowing them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is Mymy beloved Son; listen to Him!him!”
9:8 Then suddenlySuddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. alone.
9:9 As they were coming down from the mountain, Hehe ordered them to tell no one what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
9:10 They kept this word to themselves, discussingquestioning what “rising from the dead” meant.
9:11 Then they beganasked to question Himhim, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
9:12 “Elijah does come first and restores everythingall things,” Hehe replied. “HowWhy then is it written aboutthat the Son of Man that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?
9:13 But I tell you that Elijah really has come, and they did whatever they pleased to him, just as it is written about him.”
9:15 AllWhen of a sudden, when the whole crowd saw Himhim, they were amazed and ran to greet Himhim.
9:16 Then He asked them, “What are you arguing with them about?”
9:17 OutSomeone offrom the crowd, one man answered Himhim, “Teacher, I brought my son to Youyou. He has a spirit that makes him unable to speak.
9:18 WhereverWhenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I asked Youryour disciples to drive it out, but they couldn’t.”
9:19 He replied to them, “You unbelieving generation!, Howhow long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to Meme.”
9:20 So they brought himthe boy to Himhim. When the spirit saw Himhim, it immediately convulsedthrew the boy into convulsions. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
9:22 “And many times it has thrown him into fire or water to destroy him. But if Youyou can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
9:23 Then Jesus said to him, “‘If Youyou can’? Everything is possible tofor the one who believes.”
9:24 Immediately the father of the boy cried out, “I do believe!; Helphelp my unbelief.”!”
9:25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidlyquickly coming togethergathering, Hehe rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you: comeCome out of him and never enter him again!”.”
9:26 Then it came out, shrieking and convulsingthrowing him violentlyinto terrible convulsions. The boy became like a corpse, so that many said, “He’s dead.”
9:28 After Hehe wenthad gone into athe house, Hishis disciples asked Himhim privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
9:29 And Hehe told them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer.” [and fasting].”
9:30 Then they left that place and made their way through Galilee, but Hehe did not want anyone to know it.
9:31 For Hehe was teaching Hishis disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is beinggoing to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill Himhim, and after Hehe is killed, Hehe will rise three days later.”
9:32 But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask Himhim.
9:33 ThenThey they came to Capernaum. When Hehe was in the house, Hehe asked them, “What were you arguing about on the way?”
9:35 Sitting down, Hehe called the Twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
9:36 Then He took a child, had him stand among them, and taking him in Hishis arms, Hehe said to them,
9:37 “Whoever welcomes one little child such as this in Mymy name welcomes Meme. And whoever welcomes Meme does not welcome Meme, but Himhim who sent Meme.”
9:38 John said to Himhim, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in Youryour name, and we tried to stop him because he wasn’t following us.”
9:39 “Don’t stop him,” said Jesus, “because there is no one who will perform a miracle in Mymy name who can soon afterward speak evil of Meme.
9:41 And whoever gives you a cup of water to drink becausein ofmy My name, sincebecause you belong to theChrist Messiah— truly I assuretell you:, Hehe will never lose his reward.
9:42 “But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Meme to fall away — it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.
9:43 “And if your hand causes youryou downfallto fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go to hell—, the unquenchable fire,.
9:44 [where Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.]
9:45 And if your foot causes youryou downfallto fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell—. [the unquenchable fire,
9:46 where Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.]
9:47 And if your eye causes youryou downfallto fall away, gouge it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
9:48 where Theirtheir worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
9:50 Salt is good, but if the salt should lose its flavor, how can you makeseason it salty? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
10:1 He set out from there and went to the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Then crowds converged on Himhim again, and, as Hewas usuallyhis did, custom Hehe begantaught teaching them once moreagain.
10:2 Some Pharisees approachedcame Him to test Him.him, They askedasking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
10:7 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother [and be joined to his wife],
10:9 Therefore what God has joined together, manlet mustno notone separate.”
10:10 NowWhen they were in the house again, the disciples questioned Himhim again about this matter.
10:11 And He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.
10:13 SomePeople people were bringing little children to Himhim soin Heorder that he might touch them, but Histhe disciples rebuked them.
10:14 When Jesus saw it, Hehe was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Meme. Don’t stop them, forbecause the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
10:15 Truly I assuretell you:, Whoeverwhoever does not welcomereceive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
10:16 After taking them in Hishis arms, Hehe laid Hishis hands on them and blessed them.
10:17 As Hehe was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before Himhim, and asked Himhim, “Good Teacherteacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
10:18 “Why do you call Meme good?” Jesus asked him. “No one is good butexcept One—God alone.
10:20 He said to Himhim, “Teacher, I have kept all these from my youth.”
10:21 Then,Looking looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him, “You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Meme.”
10:22 But he was stunneddismayed atby this demand, and he went away grieving, because he had many possessions.
10:23 Jesus looked around and said to Hishis disciples, “How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!”
10:24 ButThe the disciples were astonished at Hishis words. Again Jesus said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
10:26 SoThey they were even more astonished, saying to one another, “Then who can be saved?”
10:27 Looking at them, Jesus said, “With menman it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.”
10:28 Peter began to tell Himhim, “Look, we have left everything and followed Youyou.”
10:29 “Truly I assuretell you,” Jesus said, “there is no one who has left house, or brothers or sisters, or mother or father, or children, or fields becausefor ofmy Mesake and for the sake of the gospel,
10:30 who will not receive 100a hundred times more, now at this time — houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields, with persecutions — and eternal life in the age to come.
10:32 They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. TheyThe disciples were astonished, but those who followed Himhim were afraid. Taking the Twelve aside again, Hehe began to tell them the things that would happen to Himhim.
10:33 “Listen!See, Wewe are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn Himhim to death. Then they will hand Himhim over to the Gentiles,
10:34 and they will mock Himhim, spit on Himhim, flog Himhim, and kill Himhim, and Hehe will rise after three days.”
10:35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached Himhim and said, “Teacher, we want Youyou to do somethingwhatever for us if we ask Youyou.”
10:36 “What do you want Meme to do for you?” Hehe asked them.
10:37 They answered Himhim, “Allow us to sit at Youryour right and at Youryour left in Youryour glory.”
10:38 But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup I drink or to be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”
10:39 “We are able,” they told Himhim. Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with.
10:40 But to sit at Mymy right or left is not Minemine to give; instead, it is for those for whom it has been prepared for.”
10:41 When the otherten 10 disciples heard this, they began to be indignant with James and John.
10:42 Jesus called them over and said to them, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles dominatelord it over them, and theirthose menin of high positions exerciseact poweras tyrants over them.
10:43 But it mustis not beso like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you mustwill be your servant,
10:44 and whoever wants to be first among you mustwill be a slave to all.
10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give Hishis life— as a ransom for many.”
10:46 They came to Jericho. And as Hehe was leaving Jericho with Hishis disciples and a large crowd, Bartimaeus (the son of Timaeus), a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
10:47 When he heard that it was Jesus theof NazareneNazareth, he began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me!”
10:48 Many peoplewarned told him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more, “Have mercy on me, Son of David!”
10:49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called the blind man and said to him, “Have courage! Get up; Hehe’s calling for you.”
10:51 Then Jesus answered him, “What do you want Meme to do for you?” “RabbouniRabboni,” the blind man toldsaid Himto him, “I want to see!”.”
10:52 “GoJesus yoursaid way,”to Jesus told him., “YourGo, your faith has healedsaved you.” Immediately he could see and began to follow HimJesus on the road.
11:1 When they approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany near the Mount of Olives, Hehe sent two of Hishis disciples
11:2 and told them, “Go into the village ahead of you. As soon as you enter it, you will find a youngcolt donkey tied there, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here.
11:3 If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’? ’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here right away.’”
11:4 So they went and found a youngcolt donkey outside in the street, tied by a door. They untied it,
11:5 and some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the donkeycolt?”
11:6 They answered them just as Jesus had said,; so they let them go.
11:7 ThenThey they brought the donkeycolt to Jesus and threw their robesclothes on it, and Hehe sat on it.
11:8 Many people spread their robesclothes on the road, and others spread leafy branches cut from the fields.
11:9 ThenThose those who went ahead and those who followed kept shoutingshouted: Hosanna! HeBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! is the blessed One!
11:10 TheBlessed is the coming kingdom of our father David is blessed! Hosanna in the highest heaven!
11:11 And He went into Jerusalem and into the temple complex. After looking around at everything, since it was already late, Hehe went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
11:12 The next day when they camewent out from Bethany, Hehe was hungry.
11:13 AfterSeeing seeing in the distance a fig tree with leaves, Hehe went to find out if there was anything on it. When Hehe came to it, Hehe found nothing but leaves,; becausefor it was not the season for figs.
11:14 He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And Hishis disciples heard it.
11:15 They came to Jerusalem, and Hehe went into the temple complex and began to throw out those buying and selling in the temple. He overturned the tables of the money changers’ tables and the chairs of those selling doves,
11:16 and would not permit anyone to carry goods through the temple. complex.
11:17 Then He beganwas toteaching teach them: “Is it not written, My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it a den of thieves!”
11:18 ThenThe the chief priests and the scribes heard it and started looking for a way to destroykill Himhim. For they were afraid of Himhim, because the whole crowd was astonished by Hishis teaching.
11:19 AndWhenever whenever evening came, they would go out of the city.
11:21 Then Peter remembered and said to Himhim, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that Youyou cursed ishas withered.”
11:23 Truly I assuretell you:, Ifif anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
11:24 Therefore I tell you, alleverything the things you pray and ask for  —  believe that you have received them,it and youit will havebe themyours.
11:25 And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing..”
11:26 [But if you don’t forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your wrongdoing.]”
11:27 They came again to Jerusalem. As Hehe was walking in the temple complex, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came
11:28 and asked Himhim, “By what authority are Youyou doing these things? Who gave Youyou this authority to do these things?”
11:29 Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question; then answer Meme, and I will tell you by what authority I amdo doing these things.
11:30 Was John’s baptism from heaven or fromof menhuman origin? Answer Meme.”
11:31 They begandiscussed toit argue among themselves: “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ Hehe will say, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
11:32 But if we say, ‘FromOf men’”—human origin’” — they were afraid of the crowd, because everyone thought that John was truly a genuine prophet.
12:1 Then He began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug out a pit for a winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went away.
12:2 At harvest time he sent a slaveservant to the farmers to collect some of the fruit of the vineyard from the farmersthem.
12:4 Again he sent another slaveservant to them, and they hit him on the head and treated him shamefully.
12:5 Then he sent another, and they killed that one. He also sent many others; some they beat, some and others they killed. some.
12:6 “He still had one to send, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
12:7 “But those tenant farmers said amongto themselvesone another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours!’.’
12:9 “Therefore,What whatthen will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroykill the farmers and give the vineyard to others.
12:11 This came about from the Lord and is wonderful in our eyes?”
12:12 BecauseThey they knew He had said this parable against them, they were looking for a way to arrest Him,him but feared the crowd because they wereknew afraidhe ofhad thespoken crowdthis parable against them. So they left Himhim and went away.
12:13 Then they sent some of the Pharisees and the Herodians to HimJesus to trap Himhim byin whathis He saidwords.
12:14 When they came, they said to Himhim, “Teacher, we know Youyou are truthful and deferdon’t tocare nowhat oneanyone thinks, fornor Youdo don’tyou show partiality but teach truthfully the way of God truthfully. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”
12:15 Should we pay, or should we not pay?” But knowing their hypocrisy, Hehe said to them, “Why are you testing Meme? Bring Meme a denarius to look at.”
12:16 SoThey they brought onea coin. “Whose image and inscription is this?” Hehe asked them. “Caesar’s,” they saidreplied.
12:17 Then Jesus told them, “Give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they were utterly amazed at Himhim.
12:18 Some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Himhim and questioned Himhim:
12:19 “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies, leavesleaving hisa wife behind, andbut leaves no child, histhat brotherman should take the wife and produceraise up offspring for his brother.
12:20 There were seven brothers. The first tookmarried a wifewoman, and dying, left no offspring.
12:22 SoNone of the seven left no offspring. Last of all, the woman died too.
12:24 Jesus toldspoke to them, “AreIsn’t youthis notthe deceivedreason becausewhy you’re mistaken: you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God?
12:26 NowAnd concerningas for the dead being raised — haven’t you read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spokesaid to him: I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?
12:27 He is not the God of the dead but of the living. You are badly deceivedmistaken.”
12:28 One of the scribes approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked Himhim, “Which command is the most important of all?”
12:29 “ThisJesus isanswered, the“The most important,” Jesusis answered: Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is Oneone.
12:31 “The second is:, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.”
12:32 Then the scribe said to Himhim, “You are right, Teacher!teacher. You have correctly said that Hehe is Oneone, and there is no one else except Himhim.
12:33 And to love Himhim with all your heart, with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself, is far more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
12:34 When Jesus saw that he answered intelligentlywisely, Hehe said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to question Himhim any longer.
12:35 SoWhile Jesus askedwas thisteaching question as He taught in the temple, complexhe asked, “How can the scribes say that the Messiah is the Sonson of David?
12:36 David himself says by the Holy Spirit: The Lord declared to my Lord, ‘Sit at Mymy right hand until I put Youryour enemies under Youryour feet.’
12:37 David himself calls Himhim ‘Lord’;.’ howHow, then, can thehe Messiah be his Sonson?” And the large crowd was listening to Himhim with delight.
12:38 He also said in Hishis teaching, “Beware of the scribes, who want to go around in long robes, and who want greetings in the marketplaces,
12:39 the frontbest seats in the synagogues, and the places of honor at banquets.
12:40 They devour widows’ houses and say long prayers just for show. These will receive harsher punishmentjudgment.”
12:41 Sitting across from the temple treasury, Hehe watched how the crowd dropped money into the treasury. Many rich people were putting in large sums.
12:42 AndThen a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little.
12:43 Summoning Hishis disciples, Hehe said to them, “Truly I assuretell you:, Thisthis poor widow has put in more thaninto allthe thosetreasury givingthan toall the temple treasuryothers.
12:44 For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she possessedhad — all she had to live on.”
13:1 As Hehe was going out of the temple complex, one of Hishis disciples said to Himhim, “Teacher, look! What massive stones! What impressive buildings!”
13:2 Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left hereupon on another that— all will not be thrown down!”.”
13:3 While Hehe was sitting on the Mount of Olives across from the temple complex, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Himhim privately,
13:4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign when all these things are about to takebe placeaccomplished?”
13:5 Then Jesus begantold by telling them:, “Watch out that no one deceives you.
13:6 Many will come in Mymy name, saying, ‘I am Hehe,’ and they will deceive many.
13:7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be alarmed; these things must take place, but theit end is not yet the end.
13:9 “But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to sanhedrinslocal courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of Meme, as a witness to them.
13:10 And theit goodis newsnecessary mustthat firstthe gospel be proclaimedpreached to all nations.
13:11 So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say., Onbut thesay contrary, whatever is given to you inat that hour—saytime, it.for For it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
13:12 Then brother“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and puthave them put to death.
13:13 AndYou you will be hated by everyone because of Mymy name., Butbut the one who endures to the end will be deliveredsaved.
13:14 “When you see the abomination thatof causes desolation standing where it should not be” (let the reader understand), “then those in Judea must flee to the mountains!.
13:15 A man on the housetop must not come down or go in to get anything out of his house.,
13:16 Andand a man in the field must not go back to get his clothescoat.
13:18 “Pray it won’t happen in winter.
13:19 For those will be days of tribulation, the kind that hasn’t been from the beginning of thecreation world, which God created, until now and never will be again!.
13:20 UnlessIf the Lord limitedhad not cut those days short, no one would survivebe saved. But Hehe limitedcut those days becauseshort for the sake of the elect, whom Hehe chose.
13:21 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘LookSee, here is the Messiah! Look—See, there!’! ’ do not believe it!.
13:22 For false messiahs and false prophets will risearise up and will perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the elect.
13:24 “But in those days, after that tribulation: The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light;
13:25 the stars will be falling from the sky, and the celestial powers in the heavens will be shaken.
13:27 He will send out the angels and gather Hishis elect from the four winds, from the endends of the earth to the endends of theheaven. sky.
13:28 “Learn this parablelesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.
13:29 In the same way, when you see these things happening, knowrecognize that Hehe is near — at the door!.
13:30 “Truly I assuretell you:, Thisthis generation will certainly not pass away until all these things take place.
13:31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but Mymy words will never pass away.
13:32 “Now concerning that day or hour no one knows — neither the angels in heaven nor the Son —except but only the Father.
13:33 “Watch! Be alert! For you don’t know when the time is coming.
13:34 “It is like a man on a journey, who left his house, gave authority to his slavesservants, gave each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to be alert.
13:35 Therefore be alert, since you don’t know when the master of the house is coming — whether in the evening or at midnight or at the crowing of the rooster or early in the morning.
13:36 Otherwise, when he mightcomes come suddenly andhe might find you sleeping.
14:1 AfterIt was two days itbefore was the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a treacherouscunning way to arrest Jesus and kill Himhim.
14:2 “Not during the festival,” they said, “orso that there maywon’t be riotinga riot among the people.”
14:3 While Hehe was in Bethany at the house of Simon whothe had a serious skin diseaseleper, as Hehe was reclining at the table, a woman came with an alabaster jar of purevery and expensive fragrantperfume oil of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured it on Hishis head.
14:4 But some were expressing indignation to one another: “Why has this fragrantperfume oil been wasted?
14:5 For this oilperfume might have been sold for more than 300three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they began to scold her.
14:6 Then Jesus saidreplied, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a noble thing for Meme.
14:7 You always have the poor with you, and you can do what is good for them whenever you want, but you do not always have Meme.
14:8 She has done what she could; she has anointed Mymy body in advance for burial.
14:9 Truly I assuretell you:, Whereverwherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what thisshe woman has done will also be told in memory of her.”
14:10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to handbetray HimJesus over to them.
14:11 And when they heard this, they were glad and promised to give him silvermoney. So he started looking for a good opportunity to betray Himhim.
14:12 On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrifice the Passover lamb, Hishis disciples asked Himhim, “Where do Youyou want us to go and prepare the Passover so Youthat you may eat it?”
14:13 So Hehe sent two of Hishis disciples and told them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water jug will meet you. Follow him.
14:14 Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is themy guest room forwhere MeI tomay eat the Passover with Mymy disciples?”’
14:16 So the disciples went out, entered the city, and found it just as Hehe had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
14:17 When evening came, Hehe arrived with the Twelve.
14:18 While they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I assuretell you:, Oneone of you will betray Meme — one who is eating with Me!”me.”
14:19 They began to be distressed and to say to Himhim one by one, “Surely not I?”
14:20 He said to them, “It is one of the Twelve — the one who is dipping bread with Me in the bowl with me.
14:21 For the Son of Man will go just as it is written about Himhim, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for thathim man if he had not been born.”
14:22 As they were eating, Hehe took bread, blessed and broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is Mymy body.”
14:23 Then Hehe took a cup, and after giving thanks, Hehe gave it to them, and so they all drank from it.
14:24 He said to them, “This is Mymy blood thatof establishes the covenant;, itwhich is shedpoured out for many.
14:25 Truly I assuretell you:, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it in a new way in the kingdom of God.”
14:26 After singing psalmsa hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
14:27 Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will runfall away, because it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.
14:28 But after I have been resurrectedrisen, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”
14:29 Peter told Himhim, “Even if everyone runsfalls away, I will certainlynot.” not!”
14:30 “Truly I assuretell you,” Jesus said to him, “today, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Meme three times!”.”
14:31 But he kept insisting, “If I have to die with Youyou, I will never deny You!”you.” And they all said the same thing.
14:32 Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, and Hehe told Hishis disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”
14:33 He took Peter, James, and John with Himhim, and Hehe began to be deeply distressed and horrifiedtroubled.
14:34 Then He said to them, “MyI soulam isdeeply swallowedgrieved up in sorrow —to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake.”
14:35 Then He went a little farther, fell to the ground, and beganprayed to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Himhim.
14:36 And Hehe said, “Abba, Father! All things are possible for Youyou. Take this cup away from Meme. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what Youyou will.”
14:37 Then Hehe came and found them sleeping. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping?”? He asked Peter. “Couldn’t you stay awake one hour?
14:39 Once again Hehe went away and prayed, saying the same thing.
14:40 And Heagain he came again and found them sleeping, because they could not keep their eyes open. They did not know what to say to Himhim.
14:41 Then Hehe came a third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The time has come. LookSee, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
14:42 Get up; let’s go!. See—My, my betrayer is near.”
14:43 While Hehe was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. With him was a mob, with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
14:44 His betrayer had given them a signal. “The Oneone I kiss,” he said, “Hehe’s the Oneone; arrest Himhim and take Himhim away under guard.”
14:45 So when he came, immediately he went right up to HimJesus and said, “Rabbi!”—!” and kissed Himhim.
14:46 ThenThey they took hold of Himhim and arrested Himhim.
14:47 AndOne one of those who stood by drew his sword, struck the high priest’s slaveservant, and cut off his ear.
14:48 But Jesus said to them, “Have you come out with swords and clubs, as thoughif I were a criminal, to capture Meme?
14:49 Every day I was among you, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Meme. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”
14:50 Then they all deserted Himhim and ran away.
14:51 Now a certain young man, havingwearing nothing but a linen cloth wrapped around his naked body, was following Himhim. They caught hold of him,
14:53 They led Jesus away to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes convenedassembled.
14:54 Peter followed Himhim at a distance, right into the high priest’s courtyard. He was sitting with the temple policeservants, warming himself by the fire.
14:55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for testimony against Jesus to put Himhim to death, but they could not find noneany.
14:56 For many were giving false testimony against Himhim, butand the testimonies did not agree.
14:57 Some stood up and weregave giving false testimony against Himhim, stating,
14:58 “We heard Himhim say, ‘I will demolishdestroy this sanctuarytemple made bywith human hands, and in three days I will build another not made by hands.’”
14:60 Then the high priest stood up before them all and questioned Jesus, “Don’t Youyou have an answer to what these men are testifying against Youyou?”
14:61 But Hehe kept silent and did not answer anything. Again the high priest questioned Himhim, “Are Youyou the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”
14:62 “I am,” said Jesus, “and all of you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
14:64 You have heard the blasphemy!. What is your decision?” AndThey they all condemned Himhim toas be deserving of death.
14:65 Then some began to spit on Himhim, to blindfold Himhim, and to beat Himhim, saying, “Prophesy!” The temple policeservants also took Himhim and slapped Himhim.
14:66 While Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the high priest’s servantsmaidservants came.
14:67 When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with that NazareneJesus, Jesusthe man from Nazareth.”
14:68 But he denied it: “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about!”.” Then he went out to the entryway, and a rooster crowed.
14:69 When the servantmaidservant saw him again, she began to tell those standing nearby, “This man is one of them!”.”
14:70 But again he denied it. After a little while those standing there said to Peter again, “You certainly are one of them, since you’re also a Galilean!”.”
14:71 Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about!”
14:72 Immediately a rooster crowed a second time, and Peter remembered when Jesus had spoken the word to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Meme three times.” WhenAnd he thoughtbroke aboutdown it,and he began to weepwept.
15:1 As soon as it was morning, thehaving chiefheld priests had a meeting with the elders, scribes, and the whole Sanhedrin., Afterthe tyingchief priests tied Jesus up, they led Himhim away, and handed Himhim over to Pilate.
15:2 So Pilate asked Himhim, “Are Youyou the Kingking of the Jews?” He answered him, “You havesay saidso.” it.”
15:3 And the chief priests beganaccused tohim accuse Him of many things.
15:4 Then Pilate questioned Himhim again, “AreAren’t Youyou notgoing answeringto anythinganswer? Look how many things they are accusing Youyou of!”
15:5 But Jesus still did not answer anything, and so Pilate was amazed.
15:6 At the festival it was Pilate’s customused to release for the people a prisoner whom they requested.
15:9 So Pilate answered them, “Do you want me to release the Kingking of the Jews for you?”
15:10 For he knew it was because of envy that the chief priests had handed Himhim over.
15:12 Pilate asked them again, “Then what do you want me to do with the Oneone you call the Kingking of the Jews?”
15:13 Again they shouted, “Crucify Himhim!”
15:14 Then Pilate said to them, “Why? What has Hehe done wrong?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify Himhim!” all the more.
15:15 Then,Wanting willing to gratifysatisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them.; Andand after having Jesus flogged, he handed Himhim over to be crucified.
15:16 ThenThe the soldiers led Himhim away into the courtyardpalace (that is, headquartersthe governor’s residence) and called the whole company together.
15:17 They dressed Himhim in a purple robe, twisted together a crown of thorns, and put it on Himhim.
15:18 And they began to salute Himhim, “Hail, Kingking of the Jews!”
15:19 They keptwere hitting Himhim on the head with a reedstick and spitting on Himhim. Getting down on their knees, they were paying Himhim homage.
15:20 WhenAfter they had mocked Himhim, they stripped Himhim of the purple robe, and put Hishis clothes on Him,him. andThey led Himhim out to crucify Himhim.
15:21 They forced a man coming in from the country, who was passing by, to carry Jesus’s cross. He was Simon, aof CyrenianCyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus.
15:22 AndThey they brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means Place of the Skull Place).
15:23 They tried to give Himhim wine mixed with myrrh, but Hehe did not take it.
15:24 Then they crucified Himhim and divided Hishis clothes, casting lots for them to decide what each would get.
15:25 Now it was nine in the morning when they crucified Himhim.
15:26 The inscription of the charge written against Himhim was: THEThe KINGKing OFof THEthe JEWSJews.
15:27 They crucified two criminals with Himhim, one on Hishis right and one on Hishis left.
15:28 [So the Scripture was fulfilled that says: And He was counted among outlaws.]
15:29 Those who passed by were yelling insults at Himhim, shaking their heads, and saying, “Ha! The Oneone who would demolishdestroy the sanctuarytemple and buildrebuild it in three days,
15:30 save Yourselfyourself by coming down from the cross!”
15:31 In the same way, the chief priests with the scribes were mocking Himhim toamong onethemselves another and saying, “He saved others;, Hebut he cannot save Himselfhimself!
15:32 Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe.” Even those who were crucified with Himhim weretaunted tauntinghim. Him.
15:34 And at three Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lemá sabachtháni?” which is translated, “My God, Mymy God, why have Youyou forsakenabandoned Meme?”
15:35 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “LookSee, Hehe’s calling for Elijah!”.”
15:36 Someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, fixed it on a reedstick, offered Himhim a drink, and said, “Let’s see if Elijah comes to take Himhim down!”.”
15:37 But Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed Hishis last.
15:38 Then the curtain of the sanctuarytemple was splittorn in two from top to bottom.
15:39 When the centurion, who was standing opposite Himhim, saw the way Hehe breathed Hishis last, he said, “ThisTruly this man really was God’sthe Son of God!”
15:40 There were also women lookingwatching on from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.
15:41 WhenIn HeGalilee wasthese inwomen Galilee, followed theyhim wouldand followtook Himcare andof help Himhim. Many other women had come up with Himhim to Jerusalem.
15:42 When it was already evening, because it was preparationthe day of preparation (that is, the day before the Sabbath),
15:43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Sanhedrin who was himself looking forward to the kingdom of God, came and boldly went in to Pilate and asked for Jesus’s body.
15:44 Pilate was surprised that Hehe was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him whether Hehe had already died.
15:46 After he bought some finelinen linencloth, heJoseph took Himhim down and wrapped Himhim in the linen. Then he placedlaid Himhim in a tomb cut out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb.
15:47 Now Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses were watching where Hehe was placedlaid.
16:1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they could go and anoint Himhim.
16:4 Looking up, they observednoticed that the stone — which was very large — had been rolled away.
16:5 When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; they were amazed and alarmed.
16:6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he told them. “You are looking for Jesus theof NazareneNazareth, who was crucified. He has been resurrectedrisen! He is not here!. See the place where they put Himhim.
16:7 But go, tell Hishis disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you to Galilee; you will see Himhim there just as Hehe told you.’”
16:8 SoThey they went out and startedran running from the tomb, because trembling and astonishment overwhelmed them. And they said nothing to anyone, since they were afraid. [Some of the earliest mss conclude with 16:8.] [
16:9 [Early on the first day of the week, after Hehe had risen, Hehe appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom Hehe had driven seven demons.
16:10 She went and reported to those who had been with Himhim, as they were mourning and weeping.
16:11 Yet, when they heard that Hehe was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe it.
16:12 ThenAfter after this, Hehe appeared in a different form to two of them walking on their way into the country.
16:14 Later, Hehe appeared to the Eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table. He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who saw Himhim after Hehe had been resurrectedrisen.
16:15 Then Hehe said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to theall whole creation.
16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In Mymy name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languagestongues;
16:18 they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will nevernot harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”
16:19 ThenSo the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord workingworked with them and confirmingconfirmed the word by the accompanying signs.]
