1:1 James, a slaveservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ: To the 12twelve tribes indispersed the Dispersionabroad. Greetings.
1:2 Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,
1:3 knowingbecause you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
1:4 ButAnd let endurance musthave do its completefull workeffect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.
1:5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, — who gives to all generously and withoutungrudgingly criticizing,— and it will be given to him.
1:7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.,
1:8 Anbeing indecisivedouble-minded manand is unstable in all his ways.
1:9 TheLet the brother of humble circumstances should boast in his exaltation,
1:10 but let the one who is rich should boast in his humiliation because he will pass away like a flower of the field.
1:11 For the sun rises and, together with itsthe scorching heatwind, and dries up the grass; its flower falls off, and its beautiful appearance is destroyedperishes. In the same way, the rich manperson will wither away while pursuing his activities.
1:12 ABlessed manis the one who endures trials is blessed, because when he passeshas stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Himhim.
1:13 No one undergoing a trial should say, “I am being tempted by God.”,” Forsince God is not tempted by evil, and Hehe Himselfhimself doesn’t tempt anyone.
1:14 But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desiresdesire.
1:16 Don’t be deceived, my dearlydear lovedbrothers brothersand sisters.
1:17 Every generousgood act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights;, withwho Himdoes therenot ischange nolike variationshifting or shadow cast by turningshadows.
1:18 By Hishis own choice, Hehe gave us a new birth by the messageword of truth so that we would be thea kind of firstfruits of Hishis creatures.
1:19 My dearlydear lovedbrothers brothersand sisters, understand this: Everyone mustshould be quick to hearlisten, slow to speak, and slow to anger,
1:20 for man’shuman anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.
1:21 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save youyour souls.
1:23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like asomeone man looking at his own face in a mirror.
1:24 For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of manperson he was.
1:25 But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but onea doer who doesworks good— works—this person will be blessed in what he does.
1:26 If anyone thinks he is religious without controlling his tongue, then his religion is useless and he deceives himself.
1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before our God andthe Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained byfrom the world.
2:1 My brothers and sisters, do not show favoritism as you hold on to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.
2:2 For example,if asomeone man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and a poor manperson dressed in dirtyfilthy clothes also comes in.,
2:3 Ifif you look with favor on the manone wearing the fine clothes and say, “Sit here in a good place,” and yet you say to the poor manperson, “Stand over there,” or, “Sit here on the floor by my footstool,”
2:4 haven’t you discriminatedmade distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
2:5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that Hehe has promised to those who love Himhim?
2:6 Yet you have dishonored thatthe poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you and drag you into the courtscourt?
2:7 Don’t they blaspheme the noblegood name that was pronouncedinvoked over you? at your baptism?
2:8 Indeed, if you keepfulfill the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing well.
2:9 ButIf, ifhowever, you show favoritism, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
2:10 For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet failsstumbles inat one point, is guilty of breaking it all.
2:11 For Hehe who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. So if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you are a lawbreaker.
2:12 Speak and act as those who willare to be judged by the law of freedom.
2:13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who hasn’thas not shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
2:14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone saysclaims heto hashave faith but does not have works? Can hissuch faith save him?
2:16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keepstay warm, and eatbe well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?
2:17 In the same way faith, if it doesn’tdoes not have works, is dead by itself.
2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith fromby my works.
2:19 You believe that God is one;. youGood! doEven well.the The demons alsobelieve believe— and they shudder.
2:20 FoolishSenseless manperson! Are you willing to learn that faith without works is useless?
2:21 Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works whenin heoffering offered Isaac his son on the altar?
2:22 You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was perfected.made complete,
2:23 Soand the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him foras righteousness, and he was called God’s friend.
2:24 You see that a manperson is justified by works and not by faith alone.
2:25 AndIn in the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works whenin shereceiving received the messengers and sentsending them out by a different route?

3:5 So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forestsmall fire sets ablaze a smalllarge fire ignitesforest.
3:6 And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodiesmembers. It pollutesstains the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
3:7 Every seakind creature,of reptileanimal, bird, orreptile, animaland fish is tamed and has been tamed by manhumankind,
3:8 but no manone can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
3:9 WeWith praisethe tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it, and we curse menpeople who are made in God’s likeness with it.

3:13 Who among you is wise and has understanding? amongBy you?his Hegood conduct he should show that his works byare gooddone conductin withthe gentleness that comes from wisdom’s gentleness.
3:14 But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t bragboast and deny the truth.
3:15 Such wisdom does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
3:16 For where there is envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kindevil of evilpractice.
3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without favoritism and hypocrisypretense.
4:1 What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from theyour cravingspassions that arewage at war within you?
4:2 You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask.
4:3 You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evilpleasures. desires.
4:4 AdulteressesYou adulterous people! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the friend of the world’s friend becomes God’sthe enemy of God.
4:5 Or do you think it’s without reason that the Scripture says: thatThe thespirit Spirithe whomade livesto dwell in us yearnsenvies jealouslyintensely?

4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and Hehe will exalt you.
4:11 Don’t criticize one another, brothers and sisters. HeAnyone who criticizesdefames a brother or judges hisa brotherfellow criticizesbeliever thedefames law and judges the law. ButIf if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
4:14 YouYet don’tyou evendo not know what tomorrow will bring — what your life will be! For you are like smokevapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes.
4:17 So it is a sin for the person who knows to doknow whatthe is good and doesn’tyet not do it.
5:1 Come now, you rich people!, Weepweep and wail over the miseries that are coming on you.
5:2 Your wealth ishas ruinedrotted and your clothes are moth-eaten.
5:3 Your silvergold and goldsilver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have stored up treasure in the last days!.
