| 1:3 |
PraiseBlessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ. |
| 1:4 |
For Hehe chose us in Himhim, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in Hislove sightbefore him. In love |
| 1:5 |
He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for Himselfhimself, according to Histhe favorgood andpleasure of his will, |
| 1:6 |
to the praise of Hishis glorious grace that Hehe favoredlavished on us with in the Beloved One. |
| 1:7 |
WeIn him we have redemption in Him through Hishis blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of Hishis grace |
| 1:8 |
that Hehe lavishedrichly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding. |
| 1:9 |
He made known to us the mystery of Hishis will, according to Hishis good pleasure that Hehe plannedpurposed in HimChrist |
| 1:10 |
foras thea administrationplan offor the daysright oftime fulfillment— to bring everything together in the MessiahChrist, both things in heaven and things on earth in Himhim. |
| 1:11 |
WeIn him we have also received an inheritance, inbecause Him,we were predestined according to the purposeplan of the Oneone who works out everything in agreement with the decisionpurpose of Hishis will, |
| 1:12 |
so that we who had already put our hope in theChrist Messiah might bring praise to Hishis glory. |
| 1:13 |
WhenIn him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the messageword of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. |
| 1:14 |
HeThe Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, foruntil the redemption of the possession, to the praise of Hishis glory. |
| 1:17 |
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you athe spiritSpirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Himhim. |
| 1:18 |
I pray that the perceptioneyes of your mindheart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of Hishis calling, what areis the gloriouswealth riches of Hishis glorious inheritance amongin the saints, |
| 1:19 |
and what is the immeasurable greatness of Hishis power totoward us who believe, according to the mighty working of Hishis vast strength. |
| 1:20 |
He demonstratedexercised this power in theChrist Messiah by raising Himhim from the dead and seating Himhim at Hishis right hand in the heavens — |
| 1:22 |
And Hehe putsubjected everything under Hishis feet and appointed Himhim as head over everything for the church, |
| 1:23 |
which is Hishis body, the fullness of the Oneone who fills all things in every way. |
| 2:2 |
in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler whoof exercisesthe authoritypower overof the lower heavensair, the spirit now working in the disobedient. |
| 2:4 |
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of Hishis great love that Hehe had for us, |
| 2:5 |
made us alive with theChrist Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! |
| 2:6 |
Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, |
| 2:7 |
so that in the coming ages Hehe might display the immeasurable riches of Hishis grace through Hishis kindness to us in Christ Jesus. |
| 2:8 |
For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — |
| 2:10 |
For we are Hishis creationworkmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time sofor thatus weto shoulddo. walk in them. |
| 2:11 |
So, then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh — called “the uncircumcised” by those called “the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands. |
| 2:12 |
At that time you were without the MessiahChrist, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. |
| 2:13 |
But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of the MessiahChrist. |
| 2:14 |
For Hehe is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In Hishis flesh, |
| 2:15 |
Hehe made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that Hehe might create in Himselfhimself one new man from the two, resulting in peace. |
| 2:16 |
He did this so that Hehe might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross andby which he put the hostility to death by it. |
| 2:17 |
WhenHe the Messiah came, Heand proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. |
| 2:18 |
For through Himhim we both have access byin one Spirit to the Father. |
| 2:19 |
So, then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, |
| 2:20 |
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himselfhimself as the cornerstone. |
| 2:21 |
TheIn him the whole building, being put together by Him, grows into a holy sanctuarytemple in the Lord. |
| 2:22 |
YouIn alsohim you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit. |
| 3:1 |
For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles — |
| 3:2 |
assuming you have heard, haven’t you, about the administration of God’s grace that Hehe gave to me for you?. |
| 3:4 |
By reading this you are able to understand my insight aboutinto the mystery of the MessiahChrist. |
| 3:5 |
This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to Hishis holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: |
| 3:6 |
The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners ofin the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. |
| 3:7 |
I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of Hishis power. |
| 3:8 |
This grace was given to me — the least of all the saints — to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the MessiahChrist, |
| 3:10 |
This is so that God’s multi-faceted wisdom may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens. |
| 3:11 |
This is according to Hishis eternal purpose accomplished in theChrist Messiah, Jesus our Lord. |
| 3:12 |
In Himhim we have boldness and confident access through faith in Himhim. |
| 3:13 |
So, then, I ask you not to be discouraged over my afflictions on your behalf, for they are your glory. |
| 3:16 |
I pray that Hehe may grant you, according to the riches of Hishis glory, to be strengthened with power in theyour inner manbeing through Hishis Spirit, |
| 3:17 |
and that theChrist Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, |
| 3:19 |
and to know the MessiahChrist’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. |
| 3:20 |
Now to Himhim who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us — |
| 3:21 |
to Himhim be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. |
| 4:1 |
Therefore I, the prisoner forin the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, |
| 4:2 |
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, acceptingbearing with one another in love, |
| 4:3 |
diligentlymaking keepingevery effort to keep the unity of the Spirit withthrough the peacebond thatof binds uspeace. |
| 4:4 |
There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to one hope at your calling — |
| 4:7 |
Now grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of the MessiahChrist’s gift. |
| 4:8 |
For it says: When Hehe ascended on high, Hehe took prisonersthe intocaptives captivitycaptive; Hehe gave gifts to people. |
| 4:9 |
But what does “Hehe ascended” mean except that Hehe also descended to the lower parts of the earth? |
| 4:10 |
The Oneone who descended is also the Oneone who ascended far above all the heavens, thatto He might fill all things. |
| 4:11 |
And Hehe personallyhimself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, |
| 4:12 |
forto theequip training of the saints infor the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, |
| 4:13 |
until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into amaturity mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness. |
| 4:15 |
But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into Himhim who is the head — Christ. |
| 4:16 |
From Himhim the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part. |
| 4:17 |
Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord: You should no longer walk as the Gentiles walkdo, in the futility of their thoughts. |
| 4:20 |
But that is not how you learnedcame aboutto theknow MessiahChrist, |
| 4:21 |
assuming you heard about Himhim and were taught by Himhim, becauseas the truth is in Jesus., |
| 4:22 |
Youto tooktake off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires;, |
| 4:23 |
youto arebe being renewed in the spirit of your minds;, |
| 4:24 |
youand to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth. |
| 4:25 |
SinceTherefore, youputting put away lying, Speakspeak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another. |
| 4:27 |
and don’t give the Devildevil an opportunity. |
| 4:28 |
TheLet the thief must no longer steal. Instead, he mustis to do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need. |
| 4:29 |
No foul language isshould to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear. |
| 4:30 |
And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by Himhim for the day of redemption. |
| 4:31 |
AllLet all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice. |
| 5:1 |
Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children., |
| 5:2 |
Andand walk in love, as theChrist Messiah also loved us and gave Himselfhimself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God. |
| 5:4 |
CoarseObscene and foolish talking or crude joking are not suitable, but rather giving thanks. |
| 5:5 |
For know and recognize this: Every sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, does not have an inheritance in the kingdom of theChrist Messiah and of God. |
| 5:8 |
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light — |
| 5:9 |
for the fruit of the light resultsconsists inof all goodness, righteousness, and truth — |
| 5:10 |
discerningtesting what is pleasing to the Lord. |
| 5:13 |
Everything exposed by the light is made clearvisible, |
| 5:14 |
for what makes everything clearvisible is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and theChrist Messiah will shine on you. |
| 5:15 |
Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk — not as unwise people but as wise — |
| 5:18 |
And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actionsliving, but be filled by the Spirit: |
| 5:19 |
speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music fromwith your heart to the Lord, |
| 5:22 |
Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord, |
| 5:23 |
forbecause the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of the body. |
| 5:24 |
Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives are to submit to their husbands in everything. |
| 5:25 |
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himselfhimself for her |
| 5:27 |
He did this to present the church to Himselfhimself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and blameless. |
| 5:30 |
since we are members of Hishis body. |
| 6:1 |
Children, obey your parents asin you would the Lord, because this is right. |
| 6:5 |
Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as toyou would Christ. |
| 6:6 |
Don’t work only while being watched, inas order to please menpeople-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, do God’s will from your heart. |
| 6:7 |
Serve with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to menpeople, |
| 6:9 |
And masters, treat your slaves the same way, without threatening them, because you know that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Himhim. |
| 6:10 |
Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by Hishis vast strength. |
| 6:11 |
Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tacticsschemes of the Devildevil. |
| 6:12 |
For our battlestruggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the worldcosmic powers of this darkness, against theevil, spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. |
| 6:13 |
ThisFor isthis whyreason you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. |
| 6:16 |
In every situation take up the shield of faith, and with itwhich you willcan be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. |
| 6:17 |
Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, — which is God’sthe word of God. |
| 6:18 |
Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. |
| 6:20 |
For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak about it as I should. |
| 6:23 |
Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
