1:4	And I will stretch out my hand uponagainst Judah, and uponagainst all the inhabitants of Jerusalem;. and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and —the name of the Chemarimidolatrous withand thepagan priests;,
1:5	andthose themwho that worship the hostarmy of heaventhe uponsky on the housetops;, andthose themwho that worship, thatand swear toby JehovahYahweh and also swear by Malcam;,
1:6	andthose themwho thathave are turned back from following Jehovah;Yahweh, and those thatwho havehavent not sought Jehovah,Yahweh nor inquired after him.
1:7	HoldBe thysilent peace at the presence of the Lord Jehovah;Yahweh, for the day of JehovahYahweh is at hand:. forFor JehovahYahweh hathhas prepared a sacrifice,. heHe hathhas consecrated his guests.
1:8	AndIt itwill shallhappen come to pass in the day of JehovahsYahwehs sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the kings sons, and all suchthose aswho are clothed with foreign apparelclothing.
1:9	AndIn in that day, I will punish all those thatwho leap over the threshold, thatwho fill their masters house with violence and deceit.
1:10	AndIn in that day, saithsays JehovahYahweh, there shallwill be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.
1:11	Wail, yeyou inhabitants of Maktesh;, for all the people of Canaan are undone;! allAll theythose thatwho were ladenloaded with silver are cut off.
1:12	AndIt itwill shallhappen come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps;, and I will punish the men thatwho are settled on their leesdregs, thatwho say in their heart, JehovahYahweh will not do good, neither will he do evil.
1:13	AndTheir their wealth shallwill become a spoilplunder, and their houses a desolation:. yeaYes, they shallwill build houses, but shallwont not inhabit them;. andThey theywill shall plant vineyards, but shallwont not drink thetheir wine thereof.
1:14	The great day of JehovahYahweh is near,. itIt is near and hastethhurries greatly, even the voice of the day of Jehovah;Yahweh. theThe mighty man criethcries there bitterly.
1:15	That day is a day of wrath, a day of troubledistress and distressanguish, a day of wastenesstrouble and desolationruin, a day of darkness and gloominessgloom, a day of clouds and thick darknessblackness,
1:16	a day of the trumpet and alarm, against the fortified cities, and against the high battlements.
1:17	And I will bring such distress uponon men, that they shallwill walk like blind men, because they have sinned against Jehovah;Yahweh. andTheir their blood shallwill be poured out aslike dust, and their flesh aslike dung.
1:18	Neither their silver nor their gold shallwill be able to deliver them in the day of JehovahsYahwehs wrath;, but the whole land shallwill be devoured by the fire of his jealousy:; for he will make an end, yeayes, a terrible end, of all themthose thatwho dwell in the land.
2:1	Gather yourselves together, yeayes, gather together, Oyou nation that hathhas no shame;,
2:2	before the decreeappointed bringtime forth,when before the day passpasses as the chaff, before the fierce anger of JehovahYahweh comecomes uponon you, before the day of JehovahsYahwehs anger comecomes uponon you.
2:3	Seek ye JehovahYahweh, all yeyou meekhumble of the earthland, thatwho have kept his ordinances;. seekSeek righteousness,. seekSeek meekness:humility. itIt may be yethat you will be hidhidden in the day of JehovahsYahwehs anger.
2:4	For Gaza shallwill be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation;. theyThey shallwill drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron shallwill be rooted up.
2:5	Woe untoto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! TheYahwehs word of Jehovah is against you, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines;. I will destroy thee,you thatuntil there shallis be no inhabitant.
2:6	AndThe the sea coast shallwill be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.
2:7	AndThe the coast shallwill be for the remnant of the house of Judah;. theyThey shallwill feedfind theirpasture. flocksIn thereupon; in the houses of Ashkelon, shall they will lie down in the evening;, for JehovahYahweh, their God, will visit them, and bringrestore back their captivitythem.
2:8	I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilingsinsults of the children of Ammon, wherewithwith which they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
2:9	Therefore, as I live, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, the God of Israel, Surelysurely Moab shallwill be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and saltpitssalt pits, and a perpetual desolation:. theThe residueremnant of my people shallwill makeplunder a prey of them, and the remnantsurvivors of my nation shallwill inherit them.
2:10	This shall they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies.
2:11	JehovahYahweh will be terribleawesome untoto them;, for he will famish all the gods of the earth;land. andMen menwill shall worship him, everyeveryone one from his place, even all the islesshores of the nations.
2:12	YeYou EthiopiansCushites also, yeyou shallwill be slainkilled by my sword.
2:13	AndHe he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria, and will make Nineveh a desolation, andas dry likeas the wilderness.
2:14	AndHerds herdswill shall lie down in the midstmiddle of her, all thekinds beasts of theanimals. nations:Both both the pelican and the porcupine shallwill lodge in theits capitals. thereof;Their theircalls voicewill shallecho singthrough in the windows;. desolationDesolation shallwill be in the thresholds:, for he hathhas laid bare the cedar workbeams.

3:3	Her princes inwithin the midst of her are roaring lions;. herHer judges are evening wolves;. theyThey leave nothing tilluntil the morrownext day.
3:4	Her prophets are lightarrogant and treacherous persons;people. herHer priests have profaned the sanctuary,. theyThey have done violence to the law.
3:5	JehovahYahweh, inwithin the midst of her, is righteous;. heHe will not do iniquity;no everywrong. Every morning doth he bringbrings his justice to light,. heHe failethdoesnt not;fail, but the unjust knowethknow no shame.
3:6	I have cut off nations;. theirTheir battlements are desolate;. I have made their streets waste, so that noneno passethone passes by;. theirTheir cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.
3:7	I said, OnlyJust fear thou me;. receiveReceive correction;, so that her dwelling shallwont not be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her:. butBut they rose early and corrupted all their doings.
3:8	Therefore wait ye for me, saithsays JehovahYahweh, until the day that I rise up to the prey;, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour uponon them minemy indignation, even all my fierce anger;, for all the earth shallwill be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
3:9	For then will I turnwill topurify the peopleslips of athe pure languagepeoples, that they may all call uponon theYahwehs name of Jehovah, to serve him withshoulder oneto consentshoulder.
3:10	From beyond the rivers of EthiopiaCush, my suppliantsworshipers, even the daughter of my dispersed people, shallwill bring minemy offering.
3:11	In that day shaltyou thouwill not be putdisappointed to shame for all thyyour doings, whereinin thouwhich hastyou have transgressed against me; for then I will take away out offrom theamong midstyou ofyour thee thy proudly exulting ones, and thouyou shaltwill no more be haughtyarrogant in my holy mountain.
3:12	But I will leave inamong theyou midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shallwill take refuge in theYahwehs name of Jehovah.
3:13	The remnant of Israel shallwill not do iniquity, nor speak lies;, neither shallwill a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth;, for they shallwill feed and lie down, and noneno shallone will make them afraid.
3:14	Sing, O daughter of Zion;! shoutShout, O Israel;! beBe glad and rejoice with all theyour heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
3:15	JehovahYahweh hathhas taken away thyyour judgments,. heHe hathhas castthrown out thineyour enemy:. theThe King of Israel, even JehovahYahweh, is inamong theyou. midstYou ofwill thee;not thoube shaltafraid notof fear evil any more.
3:16	In that day, it shallwill be said to Jerusalem, FearDont thoube not;afraid, O Zion,. Dont let notyour thy hands be slackweak.
3:17	JehovahYahweh, thyyour God, is inamong the midst of theeyou, a mighty one who will save;. heHe will rejoice over theeyou with joy;. heHe will restcalm you in his love;. heHe will joyrejoice over theeyou with singing.
3:18	I will gatherremove themthose thatwho sorrowgrieve forabout the solemnappointed assembly,feasts whofrom wereyou. ofThey thee;are toa whom the burden uponand hera wasreproach ato reproachyou.
3:19	Behold, at that time I will deal with all themthose thatwho afflict theeyou; and I will save thatthose whichwho isare lame, and gather thatthose whichwho waswere driven away;. and I will makegive them a praise and a namehonor, whose shame hathhas been in all the earth.
3:20	At that time I will I bring you in, and at that time I will I gather you; for I will makegive you ahonor name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I bringrestore back your captivityfortunes before your eyes, saithsays JehovahYahweh.
