| 1:18 |
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was onlike this wise: WhenAfter his mother, Mary, hadwas beenengaged betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found withpregnant childby of the Holy Spirit. |
| 1:19 |
And Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, wasintended minded to put her away privilysecretly. |
| 1:20 |
But when he thought onabout these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared untoto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, feardont notbe afraid to take untoto theeyourself Mary thyas your wife:, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. |
| 1:21 |
AndShe she shall bringgive forthbirth to a son;. andYou thoushall shaltname callhim his name Jesus;, for it is he thatwho shall save his people from their sins. |
| 1:22 |
Now all this ishas comehappened to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, |
| 1:23 |
Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bringgive forthbirth to a son,. AndThey they shall call his name Immanuel;, which is, being interpreted, God with us. |
| 1:24 |
And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took untohis himwife histo wifehimself; |
| 1:25 |
and knewdidnt know her notsexually tilluntil she had broughtgiven forthbirth ato son:her andfirstborn heson. calledHe hisnamed namehim Jesus. |
| 2:1 |
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of JudaeaJudea in the days of King Herod the king, behold, Wisewise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, |
| 2:2 |
Where is he thatwho is born King of the Jews? forFor we saw his star in the east, and arehave come to worship him. |
| 2:3 |
AndWhen whenKing Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. |
| 2:4 |
AndGathering gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquiredasked of them where the Christ shouldwould be born. |
| 2:5 |
AndThey they said untoto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea:Judea, for thusthis it is written through the prophet, |
| 2:6 |
AndYou thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Artare in no wiseway least among the princes of Judah:; Forfor out of theeyou shall come forth a governor, Whowho shall be shepherd of my people, Israel. |
| 2:7 |
Then Herod privilysecretly called the Wisewise men, and learned offrom them exactly what time the star appeared. |
| 2:8 |
AndHe he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search outdiligently exactlyfor concerning the young child;. andWhen whenyou ye have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him. |
| 2:9 |
And theyThey, having heard the king, went their way; and lobehold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, tilluntil it came and stood over where the young child was. |
| 2:10 |
AndWhen when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingexceedingly great joy. |
| 2:11 |
AndThey they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother;, and they fell down and worshippedworshiped him;. andOpening opening their treasures, they offered untoto him gifts,: gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. |
| 2:12 |
AndBeing being warned of God in a dream thatnot theyto should not return to Herod, they departedwent intoback to their own country another way. |
| 2:13 |
Now when they werehad departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appearethappeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and bestay thou there until I tell thee:you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. |
| 2:14 |
AndHe he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt;, |
| 2:15 |
and was there until the death of Herod:, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I callcalled my son. |
| 2:16 |
Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked ofby the Wisewise men, was exceedingexceedingly wrothangry, and sent forth, out and slewkilled all the male children thatwho were in Bethlehem, and in all the borderssurrounding thereofcountryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had exactly learned offrom the Wisewise men. |
| 2:17 |
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken throughby Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, |
| 2:18 |
A voice was heard in Ramah, Weepinglamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she wouldwouldnt not be comforted, because they are notno more. |
| 2:19 |
But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appearethappeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, |
| 2:20 |
Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel:, for theythose arewho dead that sought the young childs life are dead. |
| 2:21 |
AndHe he arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. |
| 2:22 |
But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over JudaeaJudea in the roomplace of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go thither;there. andBeing being warned of God in a dream, he withdrew into the partsregion of Galilee, |
| 2:23 |
and came and dweltlived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he shouldwill be called a Nazarene. |
| 3:1 |
AndIn in those days, cometh John the BaptistBaptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of JudaeaJudea, saying, |
| 3:2 |
Repent, ye; for the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is at hand.! |
| 3:3 |
For this is he thatwho was spoken of throughby Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Makemake ye ready the way of the Lord, ready! Make his paths straight.! |
| 3:4 |
Now John himself hadwore hisclothing raimentmade of camels hair, andwith a leathernleather girdlebelt aboutaround his loins;waist. andHis his food was locusts and wild honey. |
| 3:5 |
Then wentpeople outfrom unto him Jerusalem, and all Judaeaof Judea, and all the region roundaround about the Jordan; went out to him. |
| 3:6 |
andThey they were baptized ofby him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. |
| 3:7 |
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming tofor his baptism, he said untoto them, YeYou offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? |
| 3:8 |
BringTherefore forthproduce therefore fruit worthy of repentance:! |
| 3:9 |
andDont think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham tofor our father:, for I saytell unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children untoto Abraham from these stones. |
| 3:10 |
AndEven even now the axeax liethlies at the root of the trees:. Therefore every tree therefore that bringethdoesnt notproduce forth good fruit is hewncut down, and cast into the fire. |
| 3:11 |
I indeed baptize you in water untofor repentance:, but he thatwho comethcomes after me is mightier than I, whose shoessandals I am not worthy to bear:carry. heHe shallwill baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:. |
| 3:12 |
whoseHis fanwinnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor;. andHe he will gather his wheat into the garnerbarn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire. |
| 3:13 |
Then cometh Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan untoto John, to be baptized ofby him. |
| 3:14 |
But John would have hindered him, saying, I have need to be baptized ofby theeyou, and comestyou thoucome to me? |
| 3:15 |
But Jesus, answering, said untoto him, SufferAllow it now:, for thusthis itis becomeththe fitting way for us to fulfilfulfill all righteousness. Then he sufferethallowed him. |
| 3:16 |
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightwaydirectly from the water: and lobehold, the heavens were opened untoto him,. andHe he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming uponon him;. |
| 3:17 |
and loBehold, a voice out of the heavens, sayingsaid, This is my beloved Son, inwith whom I am well pleased. |
| 4:1 |
Then Jesus was Jesus led up ofby the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted ofby the devil. |
| 4:2 |
AndWhen when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward hungered. |
| 4:3 |
AndThe the tempter came and said untoto him, If thouyou artare the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. |
| 4:4 |
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedethproceeds out of theGods mouth of God. |
| 4:5 |
Then the devil takethtook him into the holy city;. andHe he set him on the pinnacle of the temple, |
| 4:6 |
and saithsaid untoto him, If thouyou artare the Son of God, castthrow thyselfyourself down:, for it is written, He shallwill givecommand his angels charge concerning thee:you, and, On their hands they shallwill bear theeyou up, Lestso haplythat thouyou dont dash thyyour foot against a stone. |
| 4:7 |
Jesus said untoto him, Again, it is written, ThouYou shaltshall not maketest trial of the Lord, thyyour God. |
| 4:8 |
Again, the devil takethtook him untoto an exceedingexceedingly high mountain, and showethshowed him all the kingdoms of the world, and thetheir glory of them;. |
| 4:9 |
andHe he said untoto him, AllI thesewill thingsgive willyou Iall giveof theethese things, if thouyou wiltwill fall down and worship me. |
| 4:10 |
Then saith Jesus untosaid to him, Get theebehind henceme, Satan:! forFor it is written, ThouYou shaltshall worship the Lord thyyour God, and himyou onlyshall shaltserve thouhim serveonly. |
| 4:11 |
Then the devil leavethleft him;, and behold, angels came and ministeredserved unto him. |
| 4:12 |
Now when heJesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee;. |
| 4:13 |
andLeaving leaving Nazareth, he came and dweltlived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the bordersregion of Zebulun and Naphtali:, |
| 4:15 |
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, Towardtoward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, |
| 4:16 |
Thethe people thatwho sat in darkness Sawsaw a great light,; And to themthose thatwho sat in the region and shadow of death, Toto them did light springhas updawned. |
| 4:17 |
From that time, Jesus began Jesus to preach, and to say, Repent! ye;For for the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is at hand. |
| 4:18 |
AndWalking walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishersfishermen. |
| 4:19 |
AndHe hesaid saithto unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers offor men. |
| 4:20 |
AndThey theyimmediately straightway left thetheir nets, and followed him. |
| 4:21 |
AndGoing going on from thencethere, he saw two other brethrenbrothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets;. andHe he called them. |
| 4:22 |
AndThey theyimmediately straightway left the boat and their father, and followed him. |
| 4:23 |
And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospelGood News of the kingdomKingdom, and healing allevery manner of disease and allevery manner of sickness among the people. |
| 4:24 |
AndThe the report ofabout him went forthout into all Syria:. andThey they brought untoto him all thatwho were sick, holdenafflicted with diversvarious diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epilepticepileptics, and palsiedparalytics; and he healed them. |
| 4:25 |
AndGreat there followed him great multitudes from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, andJudea, Judaea and from beyond the Jordan followed him. |
| 5:1 |
AndSeeing seeing the multitudes, he went up intoonto the mountain:. andWhen when he had sat down, his disciples came untoto him:. |
| 5:2 |
andHe he opened his mouth and taught them, saying, |
| 5:3 |
Blessed are the poor in spirit:, for theirs is the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven. |
| 5:4 |
Blessed are theythose thatwho mourn:, for they shall be comforted. |
| 5:5 |
Blessed are the meek:gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. |
| 5:6 |
Blessed are theythose thatwho hunger and thirst afterfor righteousness:, for they shall be filled. |
| 5:7 |
Blessed are the merciful:, for they shall obtain mercy. |
| 5:8 |
Blessed are the pure in heart:, for they shall see God. |
| 5:9 |
Blessed are the peacemakers:, for they shall be called sonschildren of God. |
| 5:10 |
Blessed are theythose thatwho have been persecuted for righteousness sake:, for theirs is the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven. |
| 5:11 |
Blessed are yeyou when menpeople shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all mannerkinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |
| 5:12 |
Rejoice, and be exceedingexceedingly glad:, for great is your reward in heaven:. forFor sothat persecutedis how they persecuted the prophets thatwho were before you. |
| 5:13 |
YeYou are the salt of the earth:, but if the salt havehas lost its savorflavor, wherewithwith shallwhat will it be salted? itIt is thenceforththen good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under footthe feet of men. |
| 5:14 |
YeYou are the light of the world. A city setlocated on a hill cannotcant be hidhidden. |
| 5:15 |
Neither do menyou light a lamp, and put it under thea bushelmeasuring basket, but on thea stand; and it shinethshines untoto all thatwho are in the house. |
| 5:16 |
Even so, let your light shine before men;, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. |
| 5:17 |
ThinkDont notthink that I came to destroy the law or the prophets:. I camedidnt notcome to destroy, but to fulfilfulfill. |
| 5:18 |
For verilymost certainly, I saytell unto you, Tilluntil heaven and earth pass away, not even one jotsmallest letter or one tittletiny pen stroke shall in noany wiseway pass away from the law, tilluntil all things beare accomplished. |
| 5:19 |
WhosoeverTherefore, thereforewhoever shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach menothers to do so, shall be called least in the kingdomKingdom of heaven:Heaven; but whosoeverwhoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven. |
| 5:20 |
For I saytell unto you, that exceptunless your righteousness shallexceeds exceedthat the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, yethere shallis in no wiseway you will enter into the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven. |
| 5:21 |
YeYou have heard that it was said to themthe ofancient old timeones, ThouYou shaltshall not killmurder; and whosoeverWhoever shallmurders killwill shall be in danger of the judgment:. |
| 5:22 |
butBut I saytell unto you, that everyeveryone one who is angry with his brother shallwithout a cause will be in danger of the judgment;. andWhoever whosoeversays shall say to his brother, Raca,! shallwill be in danger of the council;. andWhoever whosoever shall saysays, ThouYou fool,! shallwill be in danger of the hellfire of fireGehenna. |
| 5:23 |
If therefore thouyou artare offering thyyour gift at the altar, and there rememberestremember that thyyour brother hathhas aughtanything against theeyou, |
| 5:24 |
leave thereyour thy gift there before the altar, and go thyyour way,. firstFirst be reconciled to thyyour brother, and then come and offer thyyour gift. |
| 5:25 |
Agree with thineyour adversary quickly, while thouyou artare with him inon the way; lest haplyperhaps the adversaryprosecutor deliver theeyou to the judge, and the judge deliver theeyou to the officer, and thouyou be cast into prison. |
| 5:26 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto theeyou, Thouyou shaltshall by no means comeget out thence,of tillthere thouuntil you have paid the last farthingpenny. |
| 5:27 |
YeYou have heard that it was said, ThouYou shaltshall not commit adultery:; |
| 5:28 |
but I saytell unto you, that everyeveryone onewho thatgazes lookethat on a woman to lust after her hathhas committed adultery with her already in his heart. |
| 5:29 |
AndIf ifyour thy right eye causethcauses theeyou to stumble, pluck it out, and castthrow it away from thee:you. forFor it is more profitable for theeyou that one of thyyour members should perish, andthan notfor thyyour whole body to be cast into hellGehenna. |
| 5:30 |
AndIf ifyour thy right hand causethcauses theeyou to stumble, cut it off, and castthrow it away from thee:you. forFor it is more profitable for theeyou that one of thyyour members should perish, andthan notfor thyyour whole body goto be cast into hellGehenna. |
| 5:31 |
It was also said also, WhosoeverWhoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:divorce, |
| 5:32 |
but I saytell unto you, that everywhoever oneputs that putteth away his wife, savingexcept for the cause of fornicationsexual immorality, makethmakes her an adulteress:; and whosoeverwhoever shallmarries marry her when she is put away committethcommits adultery. |
| 5:33 |
Again, yeyou have heard that it was said to themthe ofancient old timeones, ThouYou shaltshall not forswearmake thyselffalse vows, but shaltshall perform untoto the Lord thineyour oaths:vows, |
| 5:34 |
but I saytell unto you, Sweardont notswear at all;: neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God; |
| 5:36 |
Neither shaltshall thouyou swear by thyyour head, for thouyou canstcant not make one hair white or black. |
| 5:37 |
But let your speechYes be, Yea,Yes yea;and Nay,your nay:No andbe whatsoeverNo. Whatever is more than these is of the evil one. |
| 5:38 |
YeYou have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:. |
| 5:39 |
butBut I saytell unto you, Resistdont notresist him thatwho is evil:; but whosoeverwhoever smitethstrikes theeyou on thyyour right cheek, turn to him the other also. |
| 5:40 |
AndIf ifanyone anysues manyou would go to law with thee, and take away thyyour coat, let him have thyyour cloak also. |
| 5:41 |
AndWhoever whosoevercompels shallyou compel thee to go one mile, go with him two. |
| 5:42 |
Give to him thatwho askethasks theeyou, and fromdont himturn thataway wouldhim borrowwho ofdesires theeto turnborrow notfrom thou awayyou. |
| 5:43 |
YeYou have heard that it was said, ThouYou shaltshall love thyyour neighbor, and hate thineyour enemy:. |
| 5:44 |
butBut I saytell unto you, Lovelove your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for themthose thatwho mistreat you and persecute you;, |
| 5:45 |
that yeyou may be sonschildren of your Father who is in heaven:. forFor he makethmakes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendethsends rain on the just and the unjust. |
| 5:46 |
For if yeyou love themthose thatwho love you, what reward do you have ye? doDont not even the publicanstax collectors do the same? |
| 5:47 |
AndIf ifyou yeonly salutegreet your brethren onlyfriends, what more do yeyou moredo than others? doDont not even the Gentilestax collectors do the same? |
| 5:48 |
YeTherefore thereforeyou shall be perfect, just as your heavenly Father in heaven is perfect. |
| 6:1 |
TakeBe heedcareful that yeyou dont do not your righteousnesscharitable giving before men, to be seen ofby them:, or else yeyou have no reward withfrom your Father who is in heaven. |
| 6:2 |
WhenTherefore, thereforewhen thouyou doestdo almsmerciful deeds, dont sound not a trumpet before theeyourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may haveget glory offrom men. VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Theythey have received their reward. |
| 6:3 |
But when thouyou doestdo almsmerciful deeds, dont let notyour thy left hand know what thyyour right hand doeth:does, |
| 6:4 |
so that thineyour almsmerciful deeds may be in secret:, andthen thyyour Father who seethsees in secret shallwill recompensereward theeyou openly. |
| 6:5 |
AndWhen whenyou ye pray, yeyou shall not be as the hypocrites:, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen ofby men. VerilyMost certainly, I saytell unto you, Theythey have received their reward. |
| 6:6 |
But thouyou, when thouyou prayestpray, enter into thineyour inner chamberroom, and having shut thyyour door, pray to thyyour Father who is in secret,; and thyyour Father who seethsees in secret shallwill recompensereward theeyou openly. |
| 6:7 |
AndIn in praying, dont use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do:; for they think that they shallwill be heard for their much speaking. |
| 6:8 |
BeTherefore notdont thereforebe like unto them:, for your Father knowethknows what things yeyou have need of, before yeyou ask him. |
| 6:9 |
AfterPray like this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowedmay your name be thykept nameholy. |
| 6:10 |
ThyLet kingdomyour Kingdom come. ThyLet your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, so on earth. |
| 6:11 |
Give us thistoday day our daily bread. |
| 6:12 |
AndForgive forgive us our debts, as we also haveforgive forgiven our debtors. |
| 6:13 |
AndBring bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. |
| 6:14 |
For if yeyou forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
| 6:15 |
But if yeyou dont forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
| 6:16 |
Moreover when yeyou fast, dont be not, like as the hypocrites, ofwith a sad countenance:faces. forFor they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen ofby men to fastbe fasting. VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Theythey have received their reward. |
| 6:17 |
But thouyou, when thouyou fastestfast, anoint thyyour head, and wash thyyour face;, |
| 6:18 |
so that thouyou beare not seen ofby men to fastbe fasting, but ofby thyyour Father who is in secret:; and thyyour Father, who seethsees in secret, shallwill recompensereward theeyou. |
| 6:19 |
LayDont notlay up treasures for yourselves treasureson upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal:; |
| 6:20 |
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves dodont not break through norand steal:; |
| 6:21 |
for where thyyour treasure is, there willyour thy heart will be also. |
| 6:22 |
The lamp of the body is the eye:. ifIf therefore thineyour eye beis singlesound, thyyour whole body shallwill be full of light. |
| 6:23 |
But if thineyour eye beis evil, thyyour whole body shallwill be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in theeyou beis darkness, how great is the darkness! |
| 6:24 |
No manone can serve two masters:, for either he will hate the one, and love the other;, or else he will holdbe devoted to one, and despise the other. YeYou cannotcant serve both God and mammonMammon. |
| 6:25 |
Therefore I saytell unto you, Bedont notbe anxious for your life,: what yeyou shallwill eat, or what yeyou shallwill drink; nor yet for your body, what yeyou shallwill put onwear. IsIsnt not the life more than the food, and the body more than the raimentclothing? |
| 6:26 |
BeholdSee the birds of the heavensky, that they dont sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns;. andYour your heavenly Father feedethfeeds them. AreArent notyou ye of much more value than they? |
| 6:27 |
AndWhich which of you by being anxious, can add one cubitmoment untoto the measure of his lifelifespan? |
| 6:28 |
AndWhy why are yeyou anxious concerningabout raimentclothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;. theyThey dont toil not, neither do they spin:, |
| 6:29 |
yet I saytell unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayeddressed like one of these. |
| 6:30 |
But if God doth so clotheclothes the grass of the field, which totoday dayexists is, and totomorrow morrow is castthrown into the oven, shallwont he not much more clothe you, Oyou ye of little faith? |
| 6:31 |
BeTherefore notdont thereforebe anxious, saying, What shallwill we eat??, or, What shallwill we drink? or, WherewithalWith shallwhat will we be clothed? |
| 6:32 |
For the Gentiles seek after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knowethknows that yeyou have need of all these things. |
| 6:33 |
But seek ye first hisGods kingdom,Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things shallwill be addedgiven untoto you as well. |
| 6:34 |
BeTherefore notdont thereforebe anxious for thetomorrow, morrow: for thetomorrow morrow will be anxious for itself. SufficientEach untodays theown dayevil is the evil thereofsufficient. |
| 7:1 |
JudgeDont notjudge, so that yeyou wont be not judged. |
| 7:2 |

| 7:3 |

| 7:4 |
Or how wiltwill thouyou saytell toyour thy brother, Let me castremove out the motespeck outfrom ofyour thine eye;, and lobehold, the beam is in thineyour own eye? |
| 7:5 |
ThouYou hypocrite,! castFirst outremove first the beam out of thineyour own eye;, and then shaltyou thoucan see clearly to castremove out the motespeck out of thyyour brothers eye. |
| 7:6 |

| 8:9 |
For I am also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers:. and I saytell to this one, Go, and he goethgoes; and totell another, Come, and he comethcomes; and totell my servant, Do this, and he doethdoes it. |

| 10:12 |
AndAs asyou ye enter into the househousehold, salutegreet it. |
| 10:13 |
AndIf if the househousehold beis worthy, let your peace come uponon it:, but if it beisnt not worthy, let your peace return to you. |

But whosoeverwhoever shalldenies deny me before men, himI will I also deny him before my Father who is in heaven. |
| 10:34 |
ThinkDont notthink that I came to send peace on the earth:. I camedidnt notcome to send peace, but a sword. |
| 10:35 |
For I came to set a man at varianceodds against his father, and thea daughter against her mother, and thea daughter in law against her mother in law:. |
| 10:36 |
andA a mans foes shallwill be theythose of his own household. |
| 10:37 |
He thatwho lovethloves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he thatwho lovethloves son or daughter more than me isisnt not worthy of me. |
| 10:38 |
AndHe hewho thatdoesnt doth not take his cross and follow after me, isisnt not worthy of me. |
| 10:39 |
He thatwho findethseeks his life shallwill lose it; and he thatwho losethloses his life for my sake shallwill find it. |

AndWhen it came to pass when Jesus had finished commandingdirecting his twelve disciples, he departed thencefrom there to teach and preach in their cities. |
| 11:2 |
Now when John heard in the prison the works of the Christ, he sent bytwo of his disciples |
| 11:3 |
and said untoto him, ArtAre thouyou he thatwho comethcomes, or lookshould we look for another? |
| 11:4 |
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which yeyou hear and see: |
| 11:5 |
the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidingsnews preached to them. |
| 11:6 |
AndBlessed blessed is he, whosoeverwho shallfinds find no occasion offor stumbling in me. |
| 11:7 |
AndAs as these went their way, Jesus began to say untoto the multitudes concerning John, What wentdid yeyou go out into the wilderness to beholdsee? aA reed shaken withby the wind? |
| 11:8 |
But what wentdid yeyou go out to see? aA man clothed in soft raimentclothing? Behold, theythose thatwho wear soft raimentclothing are in kings houses. |

AndFrom from the days of John the BaptistBaptizer until now, the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven sufferethsuffers violence, and menthe ofviolent violence take it by force. |
| 11:14 |
AndIf ifyou ye are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, thatwho is to come. |
| 11:15 |
He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear. |
| 11:16 |
But whereuntoto what shall I likencompare this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the marketplaces, who call untoto their fellowscompanions |
| 11:17 |
and say, We pipedplayed untothe flute for you, and yeyou diddidnt not dance;. weWe wailedmourned for you, and yeyou diddidnt not mournlament. |
| 11:18 |
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hathhas a demon. |
| 11:19 |
The Son of manMan came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous man and a winebibberdrunkard, a friend of publicanstax collectors and sinners! AndBut wisdom is justified by her workschildren. |
| 11:20 |
Then he began he to upbraiddenounce the cities whereinin which most of his mighty works werehad been done, because they repenteddidnt notrepent. |
| 11:21 |
Woe untoto theeyou, Chorazin! woeWoe untoto theeyou, Bethsaida! forFor if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. |
| 11:22 |
But I saytell unto you, it shallwill be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon inon the day of judgment, than for you. |
| 11:23 |
And thouYou, Capernaum, shaltwho thouare be exalted untoto heaven?, thouyou shaltwill go down untoto Hades:. forFor if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in theeyou, it would have remained until this daytoday. |
| 11:24 |
But I saytell unto you that it shallwill be more tolerable for the land of Sodom inon the day of judgment, than for theeyou. |
| 11:25 |
At that seasontime, Jesus answered and said, I thank theeyou, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thouyou didsthid hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didstrevealed reveal them untoto babes:infants. |
| 11:26 |
yeaYes, Father, for so it was well pleasing in thyyour sight. |
| 11:27 |
All things have been delivered untoto me ofby my Father:. andNo no one knowethknows the Son, saveexcept the Father; neither dothdoes anyanyone know the Father, saveexcept the Son, and he to whomsoeverwhom the Son willethdesires to reveal him. |
| 11:28 |

At that seasontime, Jesus went on the sabbathSabbath day through the grainfields;grain andfields. hisHis disciples were hungry and began to pluck earsheads of grain and to eat. |
| 12:2 |
But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said untoto him, Behold, thyyour disciples do thatwhat which it is not lawful to do uponon the sabbathSabbath. |
| 12:3 |
But he said untoto them, HaveHavent yeyou not read what David did, when he was hungry, and theythose thatwho were with him;: |
| 12:4 |
how he entered into theGods house of God, and ate the showbreadshow bread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, neithernor for themthose thatwho were with him, but only for the priests? |
| 12:5 |
Or have yeyou not read in the law, that on the sabbathSabbath day the priests in the temple profane the sabbath,Sabbath and are guiltless? |
| 12:6 |
But I saytell unto you, that one greater than the temple is here. |
| 12:7 |
But if yeyou had known what this meanethmeans, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, yeyou wouldwouldnt not have condemned the guiltless. |
| 12:8 |
For the Son of manMan is Lord of the sabbathSabbath. |
| 12:9 |
AndHe he departed thence, from there and went into their synagogue:. |
| 12:10 |
andAnd behold, there was a man havingwith a withered hand. AndThey they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbathSabbath day? so that they might accuse him. |
| 12:11 |
AndHe he said untoto them, What man shallis there beamong of you, thatwho shallhas have one sheep, and if this fallone falls into a pit on the sabbathSabbath day, willwont he notgrab layon holdto on it, and lift it out? |
| 12:12 |
HowOf how much more value then is a man of more value than a sheep! WhereforeTherefore it is lawful to do good on the sabbathSabbath day. |
| 12:13 |
Then saith he totold the man, Stretch forthout thyyour hand. AndHe he stretched it forthout; and it was restored whole, asjust like the other. |
| 12:14 |
But the Pharisees went out, and tookconspired counsel against him, how they might destroy him. |
| 12:15 |
And Jesus, perceiving itthat, withdrew from thence:there. andGreat manymultitudes followed him; and he healed them all, |
| 12:16 |
and chargedcommanded them that they should not make him known:, |
| 12:18 |
Behold, my servant whom I have chosen;, Mymy beloved in whom my soul is well pleased:. I will put my Spirit uponon him,. AndHe hewill shallproclaim declarejustice judgment to the Gentilesnations. |
| 12:19 |
He shallwill not strive, nor cryshout, aloud;neither Neitherwill shallanyone any one hear his voice in the streets. |
| 12:20 |
AHe wont break a bruised reed. shallHe hewont notquench break,a And smoking flax shall he not quench, Tilluntil he sendleads forthjustice judgmentto unto victory. |
| 12:21 |
AndIn in his name, shall the Gentilesnations will hope. |
| 12:22 |
Then was brought unto him one possessed withby a demon, blind and dumb:mute, was brought to him; and he healed him, insomuchso that the dumbblind and mute man spakeboth spoke and saw. |
| 12:23 |
AndAll all the multitudes were amazed, and said, Can this be the son of David? |
| 12:24 |
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man dothdoes not cast out demons, butexcept by BeelzebubBeelzebul, the prince of the demons. |
| 12:25 |
AndKnowing knowing their thoughts, heJesus said untoto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation;, and every city or house divided against itself shallwill not stand:. |
| 12:26 |
andIf if Satan castethcasts out Satan, he is divided against himself;. howHow then shallwill his kingdom stand? |
| 12:27 |
AndIf if I by BeelzebubBeelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sonschildren cast them out? thereforeTherefore shall they will be your judges. |
| 12:28 |
But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then isGods theKingdom kingdomhas of God come upon you. |
| 12:29 |
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and spoilplunder his goods, exceptunless he first bind the strong man? andThen then he will spoilplunder his house. |
| 12:30 |
He thatwho is not with me is against me;, and he thatwho gatherethdoesnt notgather with me, scatterethscatters. |
| 12:31 |
Therefore I saytell unto you, Everyevery sin and blasphemy shallwill be forgiven unto men;, but the blasphemy against the Spirit shallwill not be forgiven men. |
| 12:32 |
AndWhoever whosoeverspeaks shall speak a word against the Son of manMan, it shallwill be forgiven him; but whosoeverwhoever shallspeaks speak against the Holy Spirit, it shallwill not be forgiven him, neithereither in this worldage, noror in that which is to come. |
| 12:33 |
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good;, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt:; for the tree is known by its fruit. |
| 12:34 |
YeYou offspring of vipers, how can yeyou, being evil, speak good things? forFor out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speakethspeaks. |
| 12:35 |
The good man out of his good treasure bringethbrings forthout good things:, and the evil man out of his evil treasure bringethbrings forthout evil things. |
| 12:36 |
And I saytell unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shallwill give account thereofof it in the day of judgment. |
| 12:37 |
For by thyyour words thouyou shaltwill be justified, and by thyyour words thouyou shaltwill be condemned. |
| 12:38 |
Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, Teacher, we wouldwant to see a sign from theeyou. |
| 12:39 |
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seekethseeks after a sign;, andbut there shall no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet:. |
| 12:40 |
forFor as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale;huge fish, so shallwill the Son of manMan be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. |
| 12:41 |
The men of Nineveh shallwill stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shallwill condemn it:, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, asomeone greater than Jonah is here. |
| 12:42 |
The queenQueen of the southSouth shallwill rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shallwill condemn it:, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, asomeone greater than Solomon is here. |
| 12:43 |
ButWhen thean unclean spirit, whenhas he is gone out of thea man, passethhe passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and findethdoesnt find it not. |
| 12:44 |
Then he saithsays, I will return into my house whencefrom which I came out; and when he ishas come back, he findethfinds it empty, swept, and garnishedput in order. |
| 12:45 |
Then goeth he, goes and takethtakes with himself seven other spirits more evil than himselfhe is, and they enter in and dwell there:. andThe the last state of that man becomethbecomes worse than the first. Even so shallwill it be also untoto this evil generation. |
| 12:46 |
While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brethrenbrothers stood withoutoutside, seeking to speak to him. |
| 12:47 |
AndOne one said untoto him, Behold, thyyour mother and thyyour brethrenbrothers stand withoutoutside, seeking to speak to theeyou. |
| 12:48 |
But he answered andhim saidwho untospoke himto that told him, Who is my mother? andWho who are my brethrenbrothers? |
| 12:49 |
AndHe he stretched forthout his hand towardstoward his disciples, and said, Behold, my mother and my brethrenbrothers! |
| 12:50 |
For whosoeverwhoever shalldoes do the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother. |
| 13:1 |
On that day Jesus went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea sideseaside. |
| 13:2 |
AndGreat theremultitudes were gathered untoto him great multitudes, so that he entered into a boat, and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach. |
| 13:3 |
AndHe hespoke spake to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, thea sowerfarmer went forthout to sow;. |
| 13:4 |
andAs as he sowed, some seeds fell by the way sideroadside, and the birds came and devoured them:. |
| 13:5 |
andOthers others fell uponon the rocky placesground, where they haddidnt nothave much earth:soil, and straightwayimmediately they sprang up, because they had no deepnessdepth of earth:. |
| 13:6 |
andWhen when the sun washad risen, they were scorched;. andBecause because they had no root, they withered away. |
| 13:7 |
AndOthers others fell uponamong the thorns;. andThe the thorns grew up and choked them:. |
| 13:8 |
andOthers others fell uponon the good ground, soil and yielded fruit,: some aone hundredfoldhundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty. |
| 13:9 |
He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear. |
| 13:10 |
AndThe the disciples came, and said untoto him, Why speakestdo thouyou untospeak to them in parables? |
| 13:11 |
AndHe he answered and said unto them, UntoTo you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven, but to them it is not given to them. |
| 13:12 |
For whosoeverwhoever hathhas, to him shallwill be given, and he shallwill have abundance:; but whosoeverwhoever hathdoesnt nothave, from him shallwill be taken away even that which he hathhas. |
| 13:13 |
Therefore I speak I to them in parables;, because seeing they dont see not, and hearing, they dont hear not, neither do they understand. |
| 13:14 |
AndIn unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which saithsays, By hearing yeyou shallwill hear, and shallwill in no wiseway understand; AndSeeing seeingyou yewill shall see, and shallwill in no wiseway perceive:; |
| 13:15 |
Forfor this peoples heart ishas waxedgrown grosscallous, And their ears are dull of hearing, Andand their eyes they have closed their eyes; Lestor haplyelse perhaps they shouldmight perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, Andand shouldwould turn again, Andand I shouldwould heal them. |
| 13:17 |
For verilymost certainly I saytell unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which yeyou see, and sawdidnt see them not; and to hear the things which yeyou hear, and hearddidnt hear them not. |
| 13:18 |
Hear, then, ye the parable of the sowerfarmer. |
| 13:19 |
When anyanyone onehears heareth the word of the kingdom,Kingdom and understandethdoesnt understand it not, then cometh the evil one, comes and snatchethsnatches away that which hathhas been sown in his heart. This is hewhat that was sown by the way sideroadside. |
| 13:20 |
AndWhat he that was sown uponon the rocky places, this is he thatwho hearethhears the word, and straightwayimmediately with joy receivethreceives it; |
| 13:21 |
yet hath he nothas no root in himself, but endurethendures for a while;. andWhen whenoppression tribulation or persecution arisetharises because of the word, straightwayimmediately he stumblethstumbles. |
| 13:22 |
AndWhat he that was sown among the thorns, this is he thatwho hearethhears the word;, andbut the carecares of thethis world, age and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomethbecomes unfruitful. |
| 13:23 |
AndWhat he that was sown uponon the good ground, this is he thatwho hearethhears the word, and understandethunderstands it;, who verilymost bearethcertainly bears fruit, and bringeth forthproduces, some aone hundredfoldhundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty. |
| 13:24 |
AnotherHe parable set heanother parable before them, saying, The kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is likenedlike unto a man thatwho sowed good seed in his field:, |
| 13:25 |
but while menpeople slept, his enemy came and sowed taresdarnel weeds also among the wheat, and went away. |
| 13:26 |
But when the blade sprang up and broughtproduced forth fruitgrain, then appeared the taresdarnel weeds appeared also. |
| 13:27 |
AndThe the servants of the householder came and said untoto him, Sir, didstdidnt thouyou not sow good seed in thyyour field? whenceWhere thendid haththese itdarnel taresweeds come from? |
| 13:28 |
AndHe he said untoto them, An enemy hathhas done this. AndThe the servants sayasked unto him, WiltDo thouyou thenwant thatus weto go and gather them up? |
| 13:29 |
But he saithsaid, Nay;No, lest haplyperhaps while yeyou gather up the taresdarnel weeds, yeyou root up the wheat with them. |
| 13:30 |
Let both grow together until the harvest:, and in the harvest time of the harvest I will saytell to the reapers, GatherFirst, gather up first the taresdarnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn. |
| 13:31 |
AnotherHe parable set heanother parable before them, saying, The kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:, |
| 13:32 |
which indeed is lesssmaller than all seeds;. butBut when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomethbecomes a tree, so that the birds of the heavenair come and lodge in theits branches thereof. |
| 13:33 |
AnotherHe parablespoke spakeanother heparable untoto them;. The kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is like untoyeast leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, tilluntil it was all leavened. |
| 13:34 |
AllJesus spoke all these things spake Jesus in parables untoto the multitudes; and without a parable, spake he nothingdidnt untospeak to them:, |
| 13:36 |
Then heJesus leftsent the multitudes away, and went into the house:. andHis his disciples came untoto him, saying, Explain untoto us the parable of the taresdarnel weeds of the field. |
| 13:37 |
AndHe he answered and saidthem, He thatwho sowethsows the good seed is the Son of man;Man, |
| 13:38 |
and the field is the world;, and the good seed, seeds these are the sonschildren of the kingdom;Kingdom, and the taresdarnel weeds are the sonschildren of the evil one;. |
| 13:39 |
andThe the enemy thatwho sowed them is the devil:. andThe the harvest is the end of the world;age, and the reapers are angels. |
| 13:40 |
As therefore the taresdarnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so shallwill it be inat the end of thethis worldage. |
| 13:41 |
The Son of manMan shallwill send forthout his angels, and they shallwill gather out of his kingdomKingdom all things that cause stumbling, and themthose thatwho do iniquity, |
| 13:42 |
and shallwill cast them into the furnace of fire:. thereThere shallwill be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. |
| 13:43 |
Then shall the righteous will shine forthlike as the sun in the kingdomKingdom of their Father. He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear. |
| 13:44 |
TheAgain, kingdomthe Kingdom of heavenHeaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field;, which a man found, and hid;. andIn in his joy, he goethgoes and sellethsells all that he hath, has and buyethbuys that field. |
| 13:45 |
Again, the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is like unto a man thatwho is a merchant seeking goodlyfine pearls:, |
| 13:46 |
andwho having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it. |
| 13:47 |
Again, the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is like unto a net, dragnet that was cast into the sea, and gathered some fish of every kind:, |
| 13:48 |
which, when it was filled, theyfishermen drew up on the beach;. andThey they sat down, and gathered the good into vesselscontainers, but the bad they castthrew away. |
| 13:49 |
So shall it will be in the end of the world:. theThe angels shallwill come forth, and severseparate the wicked from among the righteous, |
| 13:50 |
and shallwill cast them into the furnace of fire:. thereThere shallwill be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. |
| 13:51 |
Jesus said to them, Have yeyou understood all these things? They sayanswered unto him, YeaYes, Lord. |
| 13:52 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Therefore every scribe who hathhas been made a disciple toin the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is like unto a man thatwho is a householder, who bringethbrings forth out of his treasure things new and old things. |
| 13:53 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thencefrom there. |
| 13:54 |
AndComing coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuchso that they were astonished, and said, WhenceWhere hathdid this man get this wisdom, and these mighty works? |
| 13:55 |
IsIsnt not this the carpenters son? isIsnt not his mother called Mary?, and his brethren, brothers James, and JosephJoses, and Simon, and Judas? |
| 13:56 |
AndArent all of his sisters, are they not all with us? WhenceWhere then hathdid this man get all of these things? |
| 13:57 |
AndThey they were offended inby him. But Jesus said untoto them, A prophet is not without honor, saveexcept in his own country, and in his own house. |
| 13:58 |
AndHe hedidnt diddo not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. |
| 14:1 |
At that seasontime, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus, |
| 14:2 |
and said untoto his servants, This is John the Baptist;Baptizer. heHe is risen from the dead;. andThat thereforeis dowhy these powers work in him. |
| 14:3 |
For Herod had laidarrested hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philips wife. |
| 14:4 |
For John said untoto him, It is not lawful for theeyou to have her. |
| 14:5 |
AndWhen when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. |
| 14:6 |
But when Herods birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced inamong thethem midst, and pleased Herod. |
| 14:7 |
WhereuponTherefore he promised with an oath to give her whatsoeverwhatever she should ask. |
| 14:8 |
And sheShe, being putprompted forward by her mother, saithsaid, Give me here on a platter the head of John the BaptistBaptizer. |
| 14:9 |
AndThe the king was grieved;, but for the sake of his oaths, and of themthose thatwho sat at meatthe table with him, he commanded it to be given;, |
| 14:11 |
AndHis his head was brought on a platter, and given to the damsel:young lady; and she brought it to her mother. |
| 14:12 |
AndHis his disciples came, and took up the corpsebody, and buried him;it. andThen they went and told Jesus. |
| 14:13 |
Now when Jesus heard itthis, he withdrew from thencethere in a boat, to a desertdeserted place apart:. andWhen when the multitudes heard thereofit, they followed him on foot from the cities. |
| 14:14 |
AndJesus hewent came forthout, and he saw a great multitude,. andHe he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. |
| 14:15 |
AndWhen whenevening evenhad was come, thehis disciples came to him, saying, TheThis place is desertdeserted, and the timehour is already past;late. sendSend the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food. |
| 14:16 |
But Jesus said untoto them, They havedont no need to go away;. You give ye them something to eat. |
| 14:17 |
AndThey theytold say unto him, We only have here but five loaves, and two fishesfish. |
| 14:18 |
AndHe he said, Bring them hitherhere to me. |
| 14:19 |
AndHe he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves, and the two fishesfish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, andbroke brake and gave the loaves to the disciples,; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. |
| 14:20 |
AndThey they all ate, and were filled:. andThey they took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over offrom the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. |
| 14:21 |
AndThose theywho thatate did eat were about five thousand men, besidesin addition to women and children. |
| 14:22 |
AndImmediately straightwayJesus hemade constrained the disciples toget enter into the boat, and to go beforeahead of him untoto the other side, tillwhile he shouldsent send the multitudes away. |
| 14:23 |
AndAfter after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apartby himself to pray:. andWhen whenevening evenhad was come, he was there alone. |
| 14:24 |
But the boat was now in the midstmiddle of the sea, distressed by the waves;, for the wind was contrary. |
| 14:25 |
AndIn in the fourth watch of the night, heJesus came untoto them, walking uponon the sea. |
| 14:26 |
AndWhen when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, ItIts is a ghost;! and they cried out for fear. |
| 14:27 |
But straightwayimmediately Jesus spakespoke untoto them, saying, BeCheer ofup! goodIt cheer; it is I;! Dont be not afraid. |
| 14:28 |
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it beis thouyou, bidcommand me to come untoto theeyou uponon the waters. |
| 14:29 |
AndHe he said, Come.! And Peter wentstepped down from the boat, and walked uponon the waters to come to Jesus. |
| 14:30 |
But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid;, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.! |
| 14:31 |
AndImmediately immediately Jesus stretched forthout his hand, and took hold of him, and saithsaid untoto him, OYou thou of little faith, whereforewhy didstdid thouyou doubt? |
| 14:32 |
AndWhen when they weregot gone up into the boat, the wind ceased. |
| 14:33 |
AndThose theywho that were in the boat worshippedcame and worshiped him, saying, OfYou aare truthtruly thou art the Son of God.! |
| 14:34 |
AndWhen when they had crossed over, they came to the land, untoof Gennesaret. |
| 14:35 |
AndWhen when the menpeople of that place knewrecognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region round about, and brought untoto him all thatwho were sick; |
| 14:36 |
and they besoughtbegged him that they might onlyjust touch the borderfringe of his garment:. andAs as many as touched it were made whole. |
| 15:1 |
Then therePharisees comeand scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying, |
| 15:2 |
Why do thyyour disciples transgressdisobey the tradition of the elders? forFor they dont wash not their hands when they eat bread. |
| 15:3 |
AndHe he answered and said unto them, Why do yeyou also transgressdisobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? |
| 15:4 |
For God saidcommanded, Honor thyyour father and thyyour mother:, and, He thatwho speakethspeaks evil of father or mother, let him diebe theput to death. |
| 15:5 |
But yeyou say, WhosoeverWhoever shallmay saytell to his father or his mother, ThatWhatever wherewithhelp thouyou mightestmight otherwise have beengotten profitedfrom by me is givena gift devoted to God;, |
| 15:6 |
he shall not honor his father or mother. AndYou ye have made void the wordcommandment of God void because of your tradition. |
| 15:7 |
YeYou hypocrites,! wellWell did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, |
| 15:8 |
ThisThese people honorethdraw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; Butbut their heart is far from me. |
| 15:9 |
ButAnd in vain do they worship me in vain, Teachingteaching as theirdoctrine doctrinesrules themade preceptsby of men. |
| 15:10 |
AndHe hesummoned called to him the multitude, and said untoto them, Hear, and understand:. |
| 15:11 |
NotThat that which enterethenters into the mouth defilethdoesnt defile the man; but that which proceedethproceeds out of the mouth, this defilethdefiles the man. |
| 15:12 |
Then came the disciples, came and said untoto him, KnowestDo thouyou know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying? |
| 15:13 |
But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father planteddidnt not, plant shallwill be rooted upuprooted. |
| 15:14 |
LetLeave them alone:. theyThey are blind guides of the blind. AndIf if the blind guide the blind, both shallwill fall into a pit. |
| 15:15 |
And Peter answered and said unto him, DeclareExplain untothe usparable theto parableus. |
| 15:16 |
AndSo heJesus said, AreDo yeyou also evenstill yetnot without understandingunderstand? |
| 15:17 |
PerceiveDont yeyou not, understand that whatsoeverwhatever goethgoes into the mouth passethpasses into the belly, and isthen cast out intoof the draughtbody? |
| 15:18 |
But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart;, and they defile the man. |
| 15:19 |
For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornicationssexual sins, thefts, false witnesstestimony, railings:and blasphemies. |
| 15:20 |
theseThese are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashenunwashed hands defilethdoesnt notdefile the man. |
| 15:21 |
And Jesus went out thence, from there and withdrew into the partsregion of Tyre and Sidon. |
| 15:22 |
And beholdBehold, a CanaanitishCanaanite woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thouyou son of David;! myMy daughter is grievouslyseverely vexedpossessed withby a demon.! |
| 15:23 |
But he answered her not a word. AndHis his disciples came and besoughtbegged him, saying, Send her away; for she criethcries after us. |
| 15:24 |
But he answered and said, I waswasnt not sent to anyone but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. |
| 15:25 |
But she came and worshippedworshiped him, saying, Lord, help me. |
| 15:26 |
AndBut he answered and said, It is not meetappropriate to take the childrens bread and castthrow it to the dogs. |
| 15:27 |
But she said, YeaYes, Lord:, forbut even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters table. |
| 15:28 |
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O womanWoman, great is thyyour faith:! beBe it done untoto theeyou even as thouyou wiltdesire. And her daughter was healed from that hour. |
| 15:29 |
And Jesus departed thence, from there and came nighnear untoto the sea of Galilee; and he went up intoon the mountain, and sat there. |
| 15:30 |
AndGreat theremultitudes came untoto him great multitudes, having with them the lame, blind, dumbmute, maimed, and many others, and they castput them down at his feet;. andHe he healed them:, |
| 15:31 |
insomuchso that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumbmute speaking, the maimedinjured wholehealed, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing: —and they glorified the God of Israel. |
| 15:32 |
And Jesus calledsummoned unto him his disciples, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continuehave continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat:. and I woulddont notwant to send them away fasting, lestor haply they might faint on the way. |
| 15:33 |
AndThe the disciples saysaid untoto him, WhenceWhere shouldcould we haveget so many loaves in a desertdeserted place as to fillsatisfy so great a multitude? |
| 15:34 |
And Jesus said untoto them, How many loaves do you have ye? AndThey they said, Seven, and a few small fishesfish. |
| 15:35 |
AndHe he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; |
| 15:36 |
and he took the seven loaves and the fishes;fish. andHe he gave thanks and brakebroke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. |
| 15:37 |
AndThey they all ate, and were filled:. andThey they took up thatseven whichbaskets remainedfull over of the broken pieces, seventhat basketswere fullleft over. |
| 15:38 |
AndThose theywho thatate did eat were four thousand men, besidesin addition to women and children. |
| 15:39 |
AndThen he sent away the multitudes, andgot entered into the boat, and came into the borders of MagadanMagdala. |
| 16:1 |
AndThe the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and tryingtesting him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven. |
| 16:2 |
But he answered and said unto them, When it is evening, yeyou say, It will be fair weather:, for the heavensky is red. |
| 16:3 |
AndIn in the morning, It will be foul weather totoday, day: for the heavensky is red and loweringthreatening. YeHypocrites! You know how to discern the faceappearance of the heaven;sky, but yeyou cannotcant discern the signs of the times.! |
| 16:4 |
An evil and adulterous generation seekethseeks after a sign;, and there shallwill be no sign be given untoto it, butexcept the sign of the prophet Jonah. AndHe he left them, and departed. |
| 16:5 |
AndThe the disciples came to the other side and forgothad forgotten to take bread. |
| 16:6 |
And Jesus said untoto them, Take heed and beware of the leavenyeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. |
| 16:7 |
AndThey they reasoned among themselves, saying, We tookbrought no bread. |
| 16:8 |
And Jesus, perceiving it, said, OWhy yedo ofyou littlereason faithamong yourselves, whyyou reasonof yelittle among yourselvesfaith, because yeyou have brought no bread? |
| 16:9 |
DoDont yeyou not yet perceive, neitheror remember the five loaves offor the five thousand, and how many baskets yeyou took up?, |
| 16:10 |
Neitheror the seven loaves offor the four thousand, and how many baskets yeyou took up? |
| 16:11 |
How is it that yeyou dodont not perceive that I spakedidnt notspeak to you concerning bread? But beware of the leavenyeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. |
| 16:12 |
Then they understood they that he badedidnt tell them notto beware of the leavenyeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. |
| 16:13 |
Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of manMan, isam? |
| 16:14 |
AndThey they said, Some say John the Baptist;Baptizer, some, Elijah;, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. |
| 16:15 |
He saithsaid untoto them, But who do you say ye that I am? |
| 16:16 |
And Simon Peter answered and said, ThouYou artare the Christ, the Son of the living God. |
| 16:17 |
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed artare thouyou, Simon Bar Jonah:, for flesh and blood hathhas not revealed itthis untoto theeyou, but my Father who is in heaven. |
| 16:18 |
And I also saytell untoyou thee, that thouyou artare Peter, and uponon this rock I will build my church;assembly, and the gates of Hades shallwill not prevail against it. |
| 16:19 |
I will give untoto theeyou the keys of the kingdomKingdom of heaven:Heaven, and whatsoeverwhatever thouyou shalt bind on earth shallwill behave been bound in heaven; and whatsoeverwhatever thouyou shaltrelease loose on earth shallwill behave loosedbeen released in heaven. |
| 16:20 |
Then charged he commanded the disciples that they should tell no manone that he was Jesus the Christ. |
| 16:21 |
From that time, Jesus began Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must go untoto Jerusalem, and suffer many things offrom the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up. |
| 16:22 |
And Peter took him, aside and began to rebuke him, saying, BeFar be it far from theeyou, Lord:! thisThis shallwill never be untodone theeto you. |
| 16:23 |
But he turned, and said untoto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan:! thouYou artare a stumbling block untoto me:, for thouyou mindestare not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men. |
| 16:24 |
Then Jesus said Jesusto unto his disciples, If anyanyone mandesires wouldto come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
| 16:25 |
For whosoeverwhoever woulddesires to save his life shallwill lose it:, and whosoeverwhoever shallwill lose his life for my sake shallwill find it. |
| 16:26 |
For what shallwill it profit a man be profited, if he shallgains gain the whole world, and forfeitforfeits his life? orOr what shallwill a man give in exchange for his life? |
| 16:27 |
For the Son of manMan shallwill come in the glory of his Father with his angels;, and then shall he will render untoto everyeveryone man according to his deeds. |
| 16:28 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Therethere are some ofstanding them that stand here, who shallwill in no wiseway taste of death, tilluntil they see the Son of manMan coming in his kingdomKingdom. |
| 17:1 |
AndAfter after six days, Jesus takethtook with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringethbrought them up into a high mountain apart:by themselves. |
| 17:2 |
andHe he was transfiguredchanged before them;. andHis his face didshone shinelike as the sun, and his garments became as white as the light. |
| 17:3 |
And beholdBehold, thereMoses and Elijah appeared untoto them Moses and Elijah talking with him. |
| 17:4 |
And Peter answered, and said untoto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here:. ifIf thouyou wiltwant, Ilets will make here three tabernacles;tents here: one for theeyou, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. |
| 17:5 |
While he was yetstill speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:. and beholdBehold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased;. hearListen yeto him. |
| 17:6 |
AndWhen when the disciples heard it, they fell on their facefaces, and were sorevery afraid. |
| 17:7 |
And Jesus came and touched them and said, AriseGet up, and dont be not afraid. |
| 17:8 |
AndLifting lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, saveexcept Jesus onlyalone. |
| 17:9 |
AndAs as they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, TellDont thetell visionanyone towhat noyou mansaw, until the Son of manMan behas risen from the dead. |
| 17:10 |
AndHis his disciples asked him, saying, WhyThen thenwhy saydo the scribes say that Elijah must come first come? |
| 17:11 |
AndJesus he answered and saidthem, Elijah indeed comethcomes first, and shallwill restore all things:; |
| 17:12 |
but I saytell unto you, that Elijah ishas come already, and they knewdidnt recognize him not, but did untoto him whatsoeverwhatever they wouldwanted to. Even so shall the Son of manMan will also suffer ofby them. |
| 17:13 |
Then understood the disciples understood that he spakespoke untoto them of John the BaptistBaptizer. |
| 17:14 |
AndWhen when they werecame come to the multitude, therea man came to him a man, kneeling down to him, and saying, |
| 17:15 |
Lord, have mercy on my son:, for he is epileptic, and sufferethsuffers grievously; for ofthe timesoften hefalls falleth into the fire, and oftoften times into the water. |
| 17:16 |
AndSo I brought him to thyyour disciples, and they could not cure him. |
| 17:17 |
And Jesus answered and said, OFaithless faithless and perverse generation,! howHow long shallwill I be with you? howHow long shallwill I bear with you? bringBring him hitherhere to me. |
| 17:18 |
And Jesus rebuked him;the demon, and theit demon went out of him:, and the boy was cured from that hour. |
| 17:19 |
Then came the disciples came to Jesus apartprivately, and said, Why couldwerent not we able to cast it out? |
| 17:20 |
AndHe hesaid saithto unto them, Because of your littleunbelief. faith:For formost verilycertainly I saytell unto you, Ifif yeyou have faith as a grain of mustard seed, yeyou shallwill saytell unto this mountain, RemoveMove hencefrom here to yonderthere, place; and it shallwill removemove; and nothing shallwill be impossible untofor you. |
| 17:22 |
AndWhile while they abodewere staying in Galilee, Jesus said untoto them, The Son of manMan shallis about to be delivered up into the hands of men;, |
| 17:23 |
and they shallwill kill him, and the third day he shallwill be raised up. AndThey they were exceedingexceedingly sorry. |
| 17:24 |
AndWhen when they werehad come to Capernaum, theythose thatwho receivedcollected the halfdidrachma shekelcoins came to Peter, and said, DothDoesnt not your teacher pay the half shekeldidrachma? |
| 17:25 |
He saithsaid, YeaYes. AndWhen when he came into the house, Jesus spakeanticipated first to him, saying, What thinkestdo thouyou think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive toll or tribute? fromFrom their sonschildren, or from strangers? |
| 17:26 |
AndPeter whensaid heto saidhim, From strangers,. Jesus said untoto him, Therefore the sonschildren are freeexempt. |
| 17:27 |
But, lest we cause them to stumble, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the first fish that firstcomes cometh up;. andWhen whenyou thouhave hast opened hisits mouth, thouyou shaltwill find a shekel:stater coin. Take that take, and give untoit to them for me and theeyou. |
| 18:1 |
In that hour came the disciples untocame to Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven? |
| 18:2 |
AndJesus he called to him a little child to himself, and set him in the midstmiddle of them, |
| 18:3 |
and said, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Exceptunless yeyou turn, and become as little children, yeyou shallwill in no wiseway enter into the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven. |
| 18:4 |
WhosoeverWhoever therefore shallhumbles humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven. |
| 18:5 |
AndWhoever whosoreceives shall receive one such little child in my name receivethreceives me:, |
| 18:6 |
but whosowhoever shallcauses cause one of these little ones thatwho believe onin me to stumble, it iswould profitablebe better for him thatif a greathuge millstone shouldwere behung hangedaround about his neck, and that he shouldwere be sunk in the depthdepths of the sea. |
| 18:7 |
Woe untoto the world because of occasions of stumbling! forFor it must needs be that the occasions come;, but woe to that manperson through whom the occasion comethcomes! |
| 18:8 |
AndIf ifyour thy hand or thyyour foot causethcauses theeyou to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee:you. itIt is goodbetter for theeyou to enter into life maimed or haltcrippled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire. |
| 18:9 |
AndIf ifyour thine eye causethcauses theeyou to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee:you. itIt is goodbetter for theeyou to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hellGehenna of fire. |
| 18:10 |
See that yeyou dont despise not one of these little ones:, for I saytell unto you, that in heaven their angels do always beholdsee the face of my Father who is in heaven. |
| 18:12 |
HowWhat do you think ye? ifIf anya man havehas aone hundred sheep, and one of them begoes gone astray, dothdoesnt he not leave the ninety and nine, and go untoto the mountains, and seek that which goethhas gone astray? |
| 18:13 |
AndIf if so be that he findfinds it, verilymost certainly I saytell unto you, he rejoicethrejoices over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray. |
| 18:14 |
Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. |
| 18:15 |
AndIf ifyour thy brother sinsins against theeyou, go, show him his fault between theeyou and him alone:. ifIf he hearlistens theeto you, thouyou hasthave gained thyback your brother. |
| 18:16 |
But if he heardoesnt thee notlisten, take with thee one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three witnesses every word may be established. |
| 18:17 |
AndIf if he refuserefuses to hearlisten to them, tell it untoto the church:assembly. andIf if he refuserefuses to hear the churchassembly also, let him be untoto theeyou as thea Gentile andor thea publicantax collector. |
| 18:18 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Whatwhatever things soeveryou ye shall bind on earth shallwill behave been bound in heaven;, and whatwhatever things soeveryou yerelease shall loose on earth shallwill behave loosedbeen released in heaven. |
| 18:19 |
Again, assuredly I saytell unto you, that if two of you shallwill agree on earth asconcerning touching anything that they shallwill ask, it shallwill be done for them ofby my Father who is in heaven. |
| 18:20 |
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am I in the midstmiddle of them. |
| 18:21 |
Then Peter came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oftoften shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? untilUntil seven times? |
| 18:22 |
Jesus saithsaid untoto him, I saydont nottell untoyou thee, until Until seven times;, but, Untiluntil seventy times seven. |
| 18:23 |
Therefore is the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven likenedis untolike a certain king, who wouldwanted maketo asettle reckoningaccounts with his servants. |
| 18:24 |
AndWhen when he had begun to reckonsettle, one was brought untoto him, thatwho owed him ten thousand This talent was probably worth about £200, or $1000.talents. |
| 18:25 |
But forasmuchbecause as he hadcouldnt not wherewith to pay, his Lord commanded him to be sold, andwith his wife, andhis children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. |
| 18:26 |
The servant therefore fell down and worshippedknelt before him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will payrepay theeyou all.! |
| 18:27 |
AndThe the Lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. |
| 18:28 |
But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him aone hundred shillings:denarii, and he laidgrabbed hold on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what thouyou owest.owe! |
| 18:29 |
So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and besoughtbegged him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will payrepay thee.you! |
| 18:30 |
AndHe he would not:, but went and cast him into prison, tilluntil he should pay back that which was due. |
| 18:31 |
So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingexceedingly sorry, and came and told unto their Lord all that was done. |
| 18:32 |
Then his Lord called him untoin him, and saithsaid to him, ThouYou wicked servant,! I forgave theeyou all that debt, because thouyou besoughtestbegged me:. |
| 18:33 |
shouldestShouldnt notyou thou also have had mercy on thyyour fellow servant, even as I had mercy on theeyou? |
| 18:34 |
AndHis his Lord was wrothangry, and delivered him to the tormentors, tilluntil he should pay all that was due to him. |
| 18:35 |
So shall also my heavenly Father will also do untoto you, if yeyou forgivedont noteach everyforgive oneyour his brother from your hearts for his misdeeds. |
| 19:1 |
AndWhen it came to pass when Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the borders of JudaeaJudea beyond the Jordan;. |
| 19:2 |
andGreat great multitudes followed him;, and he healed them there. |
| 19:3 |
AndPharisees there came untoto him Pharisees, tryingtesting him, and saying, Is it lawful for a man to putdivorce away his wife for everyany causereason? |
| 19:4 |
AndHe he answered and said, HaveHavent yeyou not read, that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, |
| 19:5 |
and said, For this cause shall a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleavebe joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? |
| 19:6 |
So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hathhas joined together, dont let not man puttear asunderapart. |
| 19:7 |
They sayasked unto him, Why then did Moses command us to give her a billcertificate of divorcement, divorce and todivorce put her away? |
| 19:8 |
He saithsaid untoto them, Moses, forbecause yourof the hardness of heartyour sufferedhearts, allowed you to putdivorce away your wives:, but from the beginning it hathhas not been so. |
| 19:9 |
And I saytell unto you, Whosoeverthat shallwhoever putdivorces away his wife, except for fornicationsexual immorality, and shallmarries marry another, committethcommits adultery:; and he thatwho marriethmarries her when she is putdivorced awaycommits committeth adultery. |
| 19:10 |
TheHis disciples saysaid untoto him, If this is the case of the man is so with his wife, it is not expedient to marry. |
| 19:11 |
But he said untoto them, Not all men can receive this saying, but theythose to whom it is given. |
| 19:12 |
For there are eunuchs, thatwho were so born that way from their mothers womb:, and there are eunuchs, thatwho were made eunuchs by men:; and there are eunuchs, thatwho made themselves eunuchs for the kingdomKingdom of heavensHeavens sake. He thatwho is able to receive it, let him receive it. |
| 19:13 |
Then little children were there brought untoto him little children, that he should lay his hands on them, and pray:; and the disciples rebuked them. |
| 19:14 |
But Jesus said, SufferAllow the little children, and dont forbid them not, to come untoto me:; for tothe suchKingdom belongethof theHeaven kingdombelongs ofto heavenones like these. |
| 19:15 |
AndHe he laid his hands on them, and departed thencefrom there. |
| 19:16 |
And beholdBehold, one came to him and said, TeacherGood teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? |
| 19:17 |
AndHe he said untoto him, Why askestdo thouyou call me concerninggood? thatNo whichone is good? Onebut thereone, isthat who is, good:God. butBut if thouyou wouldestwant to enter into life, keep the commandments. |
| 19:18 |
He saithsaid untoto him, Which ones? And Jesus said, ThouYou shaltshall not kill, murder. ThouYou shaltshall not commit adultery,. ThouYou shaltshall not steal,. ThouYou shaltshall not bearoffer false witness, testimony. |
| 19:19 |
Honor thyyour father and thyyour mother;. andAnd, ThouYou shaltshall love thyyour neighbor as thyselfyourself. |
| 19:20 |
The young man saithsaid untoto him, All these things I have I observed: whatfrom lackmy youth. What do I yetstill lack? |
| 19:21 |
Jesus said untoto him, If thouyou wouldestwant to be perfect, go, sell thatwhat whichyou thou hasthave, and give to the poor, and thouyou shaltwill have treasure in heaven:; and come, follow me. |
| 19:22 |
But when the young man heard the sayingthis, he went away sorrowful;sad, for he was one thatwho had great possessions. |
| 19:23 |
And Jesus said untoto his disciples, VerilyMost certainly I say untoto you, It is hard for a rich man towill enter into the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven with difficulty. |
| 19:24 |
AndAgain again I saytell unto you, Itit is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, than for a rich man to enter into theGods kingdom of GodKingdom. |
| 19:25 |
AndWhen when the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished exceedingly, saying, Who then can be saved? |
| 19:26 |
AndLooking Jesusat lookingthem, uponJesus them said to them, With men this is impossible;, but with God all things are possible. |
| 19:27 |
Then answered Peter and said unto himanswered, LoBehold, we have left all, everything and followed thee;you. whatWhat then shallwill we have? |
| 19:28 |
And Jesus said untoto them, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, that yeyou who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of manMan shallwill sit on the throne of his glory, yeyou also shallwill sit uponon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. |
| 19:29 |
AndEveryone everywho onehas that hath left houses, or brethrenbrothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my names sake, shallwill receive aone hundredfoldhundred times, and shallwill inherit eternal life. |
| 19:30 |
But many shallwill be last thatwho are first;, and first thatwho are last. |
| 20:1 |
For the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is like unto a man thatwho was the master of a householderhousehold, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers intofor his vineyard. |
| 20:2 |
AndWhen when he had agreed with the laborers for a shillingdenarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. |
| 20:3 |
AndHe he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace idle;. |
| 20:4 |
andHe said to them he said, GoYou ye also go into the vineyard, and whatsoeverwhatever is right I will give you. AndSo they went their way. |
| 20:6 |
AndAbout about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing; andidle. heHe saithsaid untoto them, Why do you stand ye here all the day idle? |
| 20:7 |
They saysaid untoto him, Because no manone hathhas hired us. He saithsaid untoto them, GoYou ye also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right. |
| 20:8 |
AndWhen whenevening evenhad was come, the Lord of the vineyard saithsaid untoto his stewardmanager, Call the laborers, and pay them their hirewages, beginning from the last untoto the first. |
| 20:9 |
AndWhen whenthose theywho came that were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received every man a shillingdenarius. |
| 20:10 |
AndWhen when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received every man a shillingdenarius. |
| 20:11 |
AndWhen when they received it, they murmured against the householdermaster of the household, |
| 20:12 |
saying, These last have spent but one hour, and thouyou hasthave made them equal untoto us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.! |
| 20:13 |
But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I doam theedoing you no wrong:. didstDidnt notyou thou agree with me for a shillingdenarius? |
| 20:14 |
Take up that which is thineyours, and go thyyour way;. itIt is my willdesire to give untoto this last, evenjust as untomuch theeas to you. |
| 20:15 |
IsIsnt it not lawful for me to do what I willwant to with minewhat I own? orOr is thineyour eye evil, because I am good? |
| 20:16 |
So the last shallwill be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen. |
| 20:17 |
AndAs as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples apartaside, and on the way he said untoto them, |
| 20:18 |
Behold, we goare going up to Jerusalem;, and the Son of manMan shallwill be delivered untoto the chief priests and scribes;, and they shallwill condemn him to death, |
| 20:19 |
and shallwill deliverhand him untoover to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify:; and the third day he shallwill be raised up. |
| 20:20 |
Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, worshippingkneeling him, and asking a certain thing of him. |
| 20:21 |
AndHe he said untoto her, What wouldestdo thouyou want? She saithsaid untoto him, Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on thyyour right hand, and one on thyyour left hand, in thyyour kingdomKingdom. |
| 20:22 |
But Jesus answered, andYou said, dont Ye know not what yeyou askare asking. Are yeyou able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They saysaid untoto him, We are able. |
| 20:23 |
He saithsaid untoto them, MyYou cupwill indeed yedrink shallmy drink:cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give;, but it is for them for whom it hathhas been prepared ofby my Father. |
| 20:24 |
AndWhen when the ten heard it, they were movedindignant with indignation concerning the two brethrenbrothers. |
| 20:25 |
But Jesus calledsummoned them unto him, and said, YeYou know that the rulers of the Gentilesnations Lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. |
| 20:26 |
NotIt so shall itnot be so among you:; but whosoeverwhoever woulddesires to become great among you shall be your minister;servant. |
| 20:27 |
andWhoever whosoeverdesires wouldto be first among you shall be your servant:bondservant, |
| 20:28 |
even as the Son of manMan came not to be ministered untoserved, but to ministerserve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
| 20:29 |
AndAs as they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. |
| 20:30 |
And beholdBehold, two blind men sitting by the way sideroad, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thouyou son of David.! |
| 20:31 |
AndThe the multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should holdbe theirquiet, peace: but they cried out theeven more, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thouyou son of David.! |
| 20:32 |
And Jesus stood still, and called them, and saidasked, What willdo yeyou thatwant Ime shouldto do untofor you? |
| 20:33 |
They saytold unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. |
| 20:34 |
And Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and straightwayimmediately theytheir eyes received their sight, and they followed him. |
| 21:1 |
AndWhen when they drewcame nighnear untoto Jerusalem, and came untoto BethphageBethsphage, untoto the mountMount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, |
| 21:2 |
saying untoto them, Go into the village that is overopposite against you, and straightwayimmediately yeyou shallwill find ana assdonkey tied, and a colt with her:. looseUntie them, and bring them untoto me. |
| 21:3 |
AndIf ifanyone anysays oneanything sayto aught unto you, yeyou shall say, The Lord hathneeds need of them;, and straightwayimmediately he will send them. |
| 21:4 |
NowAll this iswas comedone to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, |
| 21:5 |
Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Beholdbehold, thyyour King comethcomes untoto theeyou, Meekhumble, and riding uponon ana assdonkey, Andon upon a colt, the foal of ana assdonkey. |
| 21:6 |
AndThe the disciples went, and did evenjust as Jesus appointedcommanded them, |
| 21:7 |
and brought the ass, donkey and the colt, and putlaid their clothes on them their garments; and he sat thereonon them. |
| 21:8 |
AndA thevery mostgreat part of the multitude spread their garmentsclothes inon the way;road. andOthers others cut branches from the trees, and spread them inon the wayroad. |
| 21:9 |
AndThe the multitudes thatwho went beforein front of him, and thatthose who followed, cried, kept sayingshouting, Hosanna to the son of David:! Blessed is he thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord;! Hosanna in the highest.! |
| 21:10 |
AndWhen when he washad come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, Who is this? |
| 21:11 |
AndThe the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee. |
| 21:12 |
And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and castdrove out all themof thatthose who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, tables and the seats of themthose thatwho sold the doves;. |
| 21:13 |
andHe hesaid saithto unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer:, but yeyou makehave made it a den of robbers.! |
| 21:14 |
AndThe thelame blind and the lameblind came to him in the temple;, and he healed them. |
| 21:15 |
But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children thatwho were crying in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the son of David;! they were moved with indignationindignant, |
| 21:16 |
and said untoto him, HearestDo thouyou hear what these are saying? And Jesus saithsaid untoto them, Yea:Yes. didDid yeyou never read, Out of the mouth of babeschildren and sucklingsnursing thoubabies, hastyou have perfected praise? |
| 21:17 |
AndHe he left them, and went forth out of the city to Bethany, and lodgedcamped there. |
| 21:18 |
Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he hungeredwas hungry. |
| 21:19 |
AndSeeing seeing a fig tree by the way sideroad, he came to it, and found nothing thereon,on it but leaves. only;He andsaid heto saith unto it, Let there be no fruit from theeyou henceforwardforever! forImmediately ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away. |
| 21:20 |
AndWhen when the disciples saw it, they marvelledmarveled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither away? |
| 21:21 |
And Jesus answered and said unto them, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Ifif yeyou have faith, and dont doubt not, yeyou shallwill not only do what iswas done to the fig tree, but even if yeyou shalltold say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shallwould be done. |
| 21:22 |
AndAll all things, whatsoeverwhatever yeyou shall ask in prayer, believing, yeyou shallwill receive. |
| 21:23 |
AndWhen when he washad come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came untoto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doestdo thouyou do these things? andWho who gave theeyou this authority? |
| 21:24 |
And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one question, which if yeyou tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things. |
| 21:25 |
The baptism of John, whencewhere was it? from? From heaven or from men? AndThey they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven;, he will sayask unto us, Why then did yeyou not believe him? |
| 21:26 |
But if we shall say, From men;, we fear the multitude;, for all hold John as a prophet. |
| 21:27 |
AndThey they answered Jesus, and said, We dont know not. He also said untoto them, Neither tellwill I tell you by what authority I do these things. |
| 21:28 |
But what do you think ye? A man had two sons;, and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work totoday day in themy vineyard. |
| 21:29 |
AndHe he answered and said, I will not:, but afterward he repentedchanged himselfhis mind, and went. |
| 21:30 |
AndHe he came to the second, and said likewisethe same thing. AndHe he answered and said, IIm gogoing, sir:, andbut wenthe notdidnt go. |
| 21:31 |
Which of the two did the will of his father? They saysaid to him, The first. Jesus saithsaid untoto them, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, that the publicanstax collectors and the harlotsprostitutes goare entering into theGods kingdomKingdom of God before you. |
| 21:32 |
For John came untoto you in the way of righteousness, and yeyou believeddidnt believe him not; but the publicanstax collectors and the harlotsprostitutes believed him:. andWhen ye,you when ye saw it, didyou notdidnt even repent yourselves afterward, that yeyou might believe him. |
| 21:33 |
Hear another parable:. There was a man thatwho was a householder, master of a household who planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, anddug digged a winepresswine press in it, and built a tower, andleased let it out to husbandmenfarmers, and went into another country. |
| 21:34 |
AndWhen when the season offor the fruitsfruit drewcame near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, farmers to receive his fruitsfruit. |
| 21:35 |
AndThe thefarmers husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. |
| 21:36 |
Again, he sent other servants more than the first:; and they didtreated unto them inthe likesame mannerway. |
| 21:37 |
But afterward he sent untoto them his son, saying, They will reverencerespect my son. |
| 21:38 |
But the husbandmenfarmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir;. comeCome, letlets us kill him, and takeseize his inheritance. |
| 21:39 |
AndSo they took him, and castthrew him forth out of the vineyard, andthen killed him. |
| 21:40 |
When therefore the Lord of the vineyard shall comecomes, what will he do untoto those husbandmenfarmers? |
| 21:41 |
They saytold unto him, He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will letlease out the vineyard untoto other husbandmen, farmers who shallwill rendergive him the fruitsfruit in theirits seasonsseason. |
| 21:42 |
Jesus saithsaid untoto them, Did yeyou never read in the scripturesScriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner;. This was from the Lord,. AndIt it is marvellousmarvelous in our eyes? |
| 21:43 |
Therefore say I untotell you, TheGods kingdomKingdom ofwill God shall be taken away from you, and shallwill be given to a nation bringingproducing forthits the fruits thereoffruit. |
| 21:44 |
AndHe hewho thatfalls falleth on this stone shallwill be broken to pieces:, but on whomsoeverwhomever it shallwill fall, it will scatter him as dust. |
| 21:45 |
AndWhen when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spakespoke ofabout them. |
| 21:46 |
AndWhen when they sought to layseize hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they tookconsidered him forto be a prophet. |
| 22:1 |
And Jesus answered and spakespoke to them again in parables unto them, saying, |
| 22:2 |
The kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven is likenedlike unto a certain king, who made a marriagewedding feast for his son, |
| 22:3 |
and sent forthout his servants to call themthose thatwho were biddeninvited to the marriagewedding feast:, andbut they would not come. |
| 22:4 |
Again he sent forthout other servants, saying, Tell themthose thatwho are biddeninvited, Behold, I have madeprepared ready my dinner;. myMy oxencattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready:. comeCome to the marriagewedding feast.! |
| 22:6 |
and the rest laidgrabbed hold on his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them. |
| 22:7 |
ButWhen the king heard that, he was wroth;angry, and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. |
| 22:8 |
Then saith he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but theythose thatwho were biddeninvited werewerent not worthy. |
| 22:9 |
Go ye therefore untoto the partingsintersections of the highways, and as many as yeyou shallmay find, bidinvite to the marriagewedding feast. |
| 22:10 |
AndThose those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good:. andThe the wedding was filled with guests. |
| 22:11 |
But when the king came in to beholdsee the guests, he saw there a man who haddidnt nothave on a wedding garment:clothing, |
| 22:12 |
and he saithsaid untoto him, Friend, how camestdid thouyou come in hitherhere not havingwearing a wedding garmentclothing? AndHe he was speechless. |
| 22:13 |
Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and castthrow him out into the outer darkness;. thereThat shallis bewhere the weeping and thegrinding gnashing of teeth will be. |
| 22:15 |
Then went the Pharisees, went and took counsel how they might ensnareentrap him in his talk. |
| 22:16 |
AndThey theysent sendtheir disciples to him, theiralong disciples, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thouyou artare truehonest, and teachestteach the way of God in truth, andno carestmatter notwhom foryou anyteach; one: for thouyou regardestarent notpartial theto person of menanyone. |
| 22:17 |
Tell us therefore, Whatwhat thinkestdo thouyou think? Is it lawful to givepay tributetaxes untoto Caesar, or not? |
| 22:18 |
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why makedo yeyou trialtest of me, yeyou hypocrites? |
| 22:19 |
Show me the tributetax money. AndThey they brought untoto him a denarius. |
| 22:20 |
AndHe heasked saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscriptioninscription? |
| 22:21 |
They saysaid untoto him, Caesars. Then saith he untosaid to them, RenderGive therefore untoto Caesar the things that are Caesars;, and untoto God the things that are Gods. |
| 22:22 |
AndWhen when they heard it, they marvelledmarveled, and left him, and went away. |
| 22:23 |
On that day there came to him Sadducees, theythose thatwho say that there is no resurrection: andcame theyto him. They asked him, |
| 22:24 |
saying, Teacher, Moses said, If a man diedies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seedoffspring untofor his brother. |
| 22:25 |
Now there were with us seven brethren:brothers. andThe the first married and deceaseddied, and having no seedoffspring left his wife untoto his brother;. |
| 22:26 |
inIn likethe mannersame way, the second also, and the third, untoto the seventh. |
| 22:27 |
AndAfter after them all, the woman died. |
| 22:28 |
In the resurrection therefore, whose wife shallwill she be of the seven? forFor they all had her. |
| 22:29 |
But Jesus answered and said unto them, YeYou doare errmistaken, not knowing the scripturesScriptures, nor the power of God. |
| 22:30 |
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are aslike Gods angels in heaven. |
| 22:31 |
But asconcerning touching the resurrection of the dead, havehavent yeyou not read that which was spoken untoto you by God, saying, |
| 22:33 |
AndWhen when the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching. |
| 22:34 |
But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had putsilenced the Sadducees to silence, gathered themselves together. |
| 22:35 |
AndOne one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, tryingtesting him:. |
| 22:36 |
Teacher, which is the greatgreatest commandment in the law? |
| 22:37 |
AndJesus he said untoto him, ThouYou shaltshall love the Lord thyyour God with all thyyour heart, and with all thyyour soul, and with all thyyour mind. |
| 22:38 |
This is the greatfirst and firstgreat commandment. |
| 22:39 |
AndA a second likelikewise unto it is this, ThouYou shaltshall love thyyour neighbor as thyselfyourself. |
| 22:40 |
OnThe thesewhole twolaw commandmentsand the wholeprophets lawdepend hangeth,on andthese thetwo prophetscommandments. |
| 22:42 |
saying, What do you think ye of the Christ? whoseWhose son is he? They saysaid untoto him, TheOf son of David. |
| 22:43 |
He saithsaid untoto them, How then dothdoes David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, |
| 22:44 |
The Lord said untoto my Lord, Sitsit thou on my right hand, Tilluntil I putmake thineyour enemies underneatha thyfootstool for your feet? |
| 22:45 |
If then David thencalls calleth him Lord, how is he his son? |
| 22:46 |
AndNo no one was able to answer him a word, neither durstdid any man fromdare that day forth ask him any more questions from that day forward. |
| 23:1 |
Then spake Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples, |
| 23:2 |
saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses seat:. |
| 23:3 |
allAll things therefore whatsoeverwhatever they bidtell you, theseto doobserve, and observe: butand do, notbut yedont afterdo their works; for they say, and dont do not. |
| 23:4 |
Yea,For they bind heavy burdens andthat are grievous to be borne, and lay them on mens shoulders; but they themselves will not movelift thema withfinger theirto fingerhelp them. |
| 23:5 |
But they do all their works they do to be seen ofby men:. forThey they make broad their phylacteries, broad and enlarge the bordersfringes of their garments, |
| 23:6 |
and love the chief place of honor at feasts, and the chiefbest seats in the synagogues, |
| 23:7 |
and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of menRabbi, Rabbi by men. |
| 23:8 |
But beyou are not yeto be called Rabbi:, for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all yeof you are brethrenbrothers. |
| 23:9 |
AndCall call no man your father on the earth: your father, for one is your Father, even he who is in heaven. |
| 23:10 |
Neither be ye called masters:, for one is your master, even the Christ. |
| 23:11 |
But he thatwho is greatest among you shallwill be your servant. |
| 23:12 |
AndWhoever whosoeverexalts shall exalt himself shallwill be humbled;, and whosoeverwhoever shallhumbles humble himself shallwill be exalted. |
| 23:13 |
ButWoe woeto unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! becauseFor yeyou shutdevour thewidows kingdomhouses, ofand heavenas againsta men:pretense foryou yemake enterlong notprayers. inTherefore yourselves, you neitherwill sufferreceive yegreater them that are entering in to entercondemnation. |
| 23:15 |
Woe untoto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! forFor yeyou compasstravel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he isbecomes become soone, yeyou make him twofoldtwice moreas much a son of hellGehenna thanas yourselves. |
| 23:16 |
Woe untoto you, yeyou blind guides, thatwho say, WhosoeverWhoever shallswears swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoeverwhoever shallswears swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtorobligated. |
| 23:17 |
YeYou blind fools! andFor blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hathsanctifies sanctified the gold? |
| 23:18 |
And, WhosoeverWhoever shallswears swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoeverwhoever shallswears swear by the gift that is uponon it, he is a debtorobligated. |
| 23:19 |
YeYou blind: forfools! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifiethsanctifies the gift? |
| 23:20 |
He therefore thatwho swearethswears by the altar, swearethswears by it, and by alleverything thingson thereonit. |
| 23:21 |
AndHe hewho thatswears sweareth by the temple, swearethswears by it, and by him thatwho dwellethhas thereinbeen living in it. |
| 23:22 |
AndHe hewho thatswears sweareth by the heaven, swearethswears by the throne of God, and by him thatwho sittethsits thereonon it. |
| 23:23 |
Woe untoto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! forFor yeyou tithe mint, anddill, anise and cummincumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law,: justice, and mercy, and faith:. butBut theseyou ye ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone. |
| 23:24 |
YeYou blind guides, thatwho strain out thea gnat, and swallow thea camel! |
| 23:25 |
Woe untoto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! forFor yeyou cleanseclean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full fromof extortion and excessunrighteousness. |
| 23:26 |
ThouYou blind Pharisee, cleanse first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that theits outside thereof may become clean also. |
| 23:27 |
Woe untoto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! forFor yeyou are like untowhitened whited sepulchrestombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead mens bones, and of all uncleanness. |
| 23:28 |
Even so yeyou also outwardly appear righteous untoto men, but inwardly yeyou are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. |
| 23:29 |
Woe untoto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! forFor yeyou build the sepulchrestombs of the prophets, and garnishdecorate the tombs of the righteous, |
| 23:30 |
and say, If we had beenlived in the days of our fathers, we shouldwouldnt not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. |
| 23:31 |
WhereforeTherefore yeyou witnesstestify to yourselves, that yeyou are sonschildren of themthose thatwho slewkilled the prophets. |
| 23:32 |
Fill ye up, then, the measure of your fathers. |
| 23:33 |
YeYou serpents, yeyou offspring of vipers, how shallwill yeyou escape the judgment of hellGehenna? |
| 23:34 |
Therefore, behold, I send untoto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes:. someSome of them shallyou yewill kill and crucify; and some of them shallyou yewill scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:, |
| 23:35 |
that uponon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel theto righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom yeyou slewkilled between the sanctuary and the altar. |
| 23:36 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Allall these things shallwill come upon this generation. |
| 23:37 |
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thatwho killethkills the prophets, and stonethstones themthose thatwho are sent untoto her! howHow often I would I have gathered thyyour children together, even as a hen gatherethgathers her chickenschicks under her wings, and yeyou would not! |
| 23:38 |
Behold, your house is left untoto you desolate. |
| 23:39 |
For I saytell unto you, Yeyou shallwill not see me henceforthfrom now on, tilluntil yeyou shall say, Blessed is he thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord.! |
| 24:1 |
And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way;. andHis his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. |
| 24:2 |
But he answered and said unto them, SeeYou yesee not all of these things, dont you? verilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Therethere shallwill not be left here one stone uponon another, that shallwill not be thrown down. |
| 24:3 |
AndAs as he sat on the mountMount of Olives, the disciples came untoto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shallwill these things be? andWhat whatis shall be the sign of thyyour coming, and of the end of the worldage? |
| 24:4 |
And Jesus answered and said unto them, TakeBe heedcareful that no manone leadleads you astray. |
| 24:5 |
For many shallwill come in my name, saying, I am the Christ;, and shallwill lead many astray. |
| 24:6 |
AndYou yewill shall hear of wars and rumors of wars;. seeSee that yeyou bearent not troubled:, for theseall thingsthis must needshappen, come to pass; but the end is not yet. |
| 24:7 |
For nation shallwill rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shallwill be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in diversvarious places. |
| 24:8 |
But all these things are the beginning of travailbirth pains. |
| 24:9 |
Then shall they will deliver you up untoto tribulation, oppression and shallwill kill you:. andYou yewill shall be hated ofby all of the nations for my names sake. |
| 24:10 |
AndThen thenmany shallwill many stumble, and shallwill deliver up one another, and shallwill hate one another. |
| 24:11 |
AndMany many false prophets shallwill arise, and shallwill lead many astray. |
| 24:12 |
AndBecause because iniquity shallwill be multiplied, the love of the many shallwill waxgrow cold. |
| 24:13 |
But he thatwho endurethendures to the end, thewill same shall be saved. |
| 24:14 |
AndThis thisGood gospelNews of the kingdomKingdom shallwill be preached in the whole world for a testimony untoto all the nations;, and then shall the end will come. |
| 24:15 |
When, therefore, yeyou see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place let himthe thatreader readeth understand, |
| 24:16 |
then let themthose thatwho are in JudaeaJudea flee untoto the mountains:. |
| 24:17 |
letLet him thatwho is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house:. |
| 24:18 |
andLet let him thatwho is in the field not return back to takeget his cloakclothes. |
| 24:19 |
But woe untoto themthose thatwho are with child and to themnursing thatmothers give suck in those days! |
| 24:20 |
AndPray pray ye that your flight bewill not be in the winter, neithernor on a sabbath:Sabbath, |
| 24:21 |
for then shallthere will be great tribulationsuffering, such as hathhas not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shallwill be. |
| 24:22 |
AndUnless except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved:. butBut for the elects sake of the chosen ones, those days shallwill be shortened. |
| 24:23 |
Then if any man shalltells say unto you, LoBehold, here is the Christ,! or, Here; There! dont believe it not. |
| 24:24 |
For there shall arise false Christs, christs and false prophets will arise, and shallthey will show great signs and wonders;, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the electchosen ones. |
| 24:26 |
If therefore they shalltell say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness;, dont go notout; forth:or Behold, he is in the inner chambers;rooms, dont believe it not. |
| 24:27 |
For as the lightning comethflashes forth from the east, and is seen even untoto the west;, so shallwill be the coming of the Son of manMan be. |
| 24:28 |
WheresoeverFor wherever the carcasecarcass is, therethat willis where the eaglesvultures begather gathered together. |
| 24:29 |
But immediately after the tribulationsuffering of those days, the sun shallwill be darkened, and the moon shallwill not give herits light, and the stars shallwill fall from heaventhe sky, and the powers of the heavens shallwill be shaken:; |
| 24:30 |
and then shall appear the sign of the Son of manMan will appear in heaven:the andsky. thenThen shall all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they shallwill see the Son of manMan coming on the clouds of heaventhe sky with power and great glory. |
| 24:31 |
AndHe hewill shall send forthout his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shallwill gather together his electchosen ones from the four winds, from one end of heaventhe sky to the other. |
| 24:32 |
Now from the fig tree learn herthis parable: whenWhen herits branch ishas now become tender, and puttethproduces forth its leaves, yeyou know that the summer is nigh;near. |
| 24:33 |
evenEven so yeyou also, when yeyou see all these things, know ye that he is nighnear, even at the doors. |
| 24:34 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Thisthis generation shallwill not pass away, tilluntil all these things beare accomplished. |
| 24:35 |
Heaven and earth shallwill pass away, but my words shallwill not pass away. |
| 24:36 |
But no one knows of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but themy Father only. |
| 24:37 |
AndAs as were the days of Noah were, so shallwill be the coming of the Son of manMan be. |
| 24:38 |
For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the arkship, |
| 24:39 |
and they knewdidnt notknow until the flood came, and took them all away;, so shallwill be the coming of the Son of manMan be. |
| 24:40 |
Then shall two men will be in the field;: one iswill be taken, and one iswill be left:. |
| 24:41 |
twoTwo women shallwill be grinding at the mill;: one iswill be taken, and one iswill be left. |
| 24:42 |
Watch therefore:, for yeyou dont know notin on what dayhour your Lord comethcomes. |
| 24:43 |
But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have sufferedallowed his house to be broken throughinto. |
| 24:44 |
Therefore also be ye also ready;, for in an hour that yeyou thinkdont notexpect, the Son of manMan comethwill come. |
| 24:45 |
Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hathhas set over his household, to give them their food in due season? |
| 24:46 |
Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord whenfinds hedoing comethso shallwhen findhe so doingcomes. |
| 24:47 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, that he will set him over all that he hathhas. |
| 24:48 |
But if that evil servant shallshould say in his heart, My Lord tarrieth;is delaying his coming, |
| 24:49 |
and shallbegins begin to beat his fellow servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;drunkards, |
| 24:50 |
the Lord of that servant shallwill come in a day when he expectethdoesnt not, expect it and in an hour when he knowethdoesnt notknow it, |
| 24:51 |
and shallwill cut him asunder,in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites:. thereThat shallis bewhere the weeping and thegrinding gnashing of teeth will be. |
| 25:1 |
Then shall the kingdomKingdom of heavenHeaven will be likenedlike unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forthout to meet the bridegroom. |
| 25:2 |
AndFive five of them were foolish, and five were wise. |
| 25:3 |
ForThose thewho were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them:, |
| 25:5 |
Now while the bridegroom tarrieddelayed, they all slumbered and slept. |
| 25:6 |
But at midnight there iswas a cry, Behold,! theThe bridegroom is coming! Come yeout forth to meet him.! |
| 25:8 |
AndThe the foolish said untoto the wise, Give us some of your oil;, for our lamps are going out. |
| 25:9 |
But the wise answered, saying, PeradventureWhat if there willisnt not be enough for us and you:? You go ye rather to themthose thatwho sell, and buy for yourselves. |
| 25:10 |
AndWhile while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came;, and theythose thatwho were ready went in with him to the marriagewedding feast:, and the door was shut. |
| 25:11 |
Afterward came also the other virgins also came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. |
| 25:12 |
But he answered, andMost said, certainly Verily I saytell unto you, I dont know you not. |
| 25:13 |
Watch therefore, for yeyou dont know not the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. |
| 25:14 |
For it is aslike when a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and deliveredentrusted untohis themgoods histo goodsthem. |
| 25:15 |
AndTo unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one;, to each according to his severalown ability;. andThen he went on his journey. |
| 25:16 |
StraightwayImmediately he thatwho received the five talents went and traded with them, and made otheranother five talents. |
| 25:17 |
In likethe mannersame way, he also thatwho receivedgot the two gained otheranother two. |
| 25:18 |
But he thatwho received the one talent went away and diggeddug in the earth, and hid his Lords money. |
| 25:19 |
Now after a long time the Lord of those servants comethcame, and makethsettled aaccounts reckoning with them. |
| 25:20 |
AndHe hewho that received the five talents came and brought otheranother five talents, saying, Lord, thouyou deliveredstdelivered untoto me five talents:. loBehold, I have gained otheranother five talents in addition to them. |
| 25:21 |
His Lord said untoto him, Well done, good and faithful servant:. thouYou hasthave been faithful over a few things, I will set theeyou over many things;. enterEnter thou into the joy of thyyour Lord. |
| 25:22 |
AndHe he also thatwho receivedgot the two talents came and said, Lord, thouyou deliveredstdelivered untoto me two talents:. loBehold, I have gained otheranother two talents in addition to them. |
| 25:23 |
His Lord said untoto him, Well done, good and faithful servant:. thouYou hasthave been faithful over a few things,. I will set theeyou over many things;. enterEnter thou into the joy of thyyour Lord. |
| 25:24 |
AndHe he also thatwho had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew theeyou that thouyou artare a hard man, reaping where thouyou didstdidnt not sow, and gathering where thouyou didstdidnt not scatter;. |
| 25:25 |
and I was afraid, and went away and hid thyyour talent in the earth:. loBehold, thouyou hasthave thinewhat ownis yours. |
| 25:26 |
But his Lord answered and said unto him, ThouYou wicked and slothful servant,. thouYou knewestknew that I reap where I soweddidnt notsow, and gather where I diddidnt not scatter;. |
| 25:27 |
thouYou oughtestought therefore to have putdeposited my money towith the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back minemy own with interest. |
| 25:28 |
Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it untoto him thatwho hathhas the ten talents. |
| 25:29 |
For untoto everyeveryone onewho thathas hathwill shall be given, and he shallwill have abundance:, but from him thatwho hathdoesnt nothave, even that which he hathhas shallwill be taken away. |
| 25:30 |
AndThrow cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness:, where there shallwill be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth. |
| 25:31 |
But when the Son of manMan shallcomes come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he will sit on the throne of his glory:. |
| 25:32 |
andBefore before him shall be gathered all the nations: will be gathered, and he shallwill separate them one from another, as thea shepherd separatethseparates the sheep from the goats;. |
| 25:33 |
andHe hewill shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. |
| 25:34 |
Then shall the King saywill untotell themthose on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdomKingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:; |
| 25:35 |
for I was hungry, and yeyou gave me food to eat;. I was thirsty, and yeyou gave me drink;. I was a stranger, and yeyou took me in;. |
| 25:36 |
I was naked, and yeyou clothed me;. I was sick, and yeyou visited me;. I was in prison, and yeyou came untoto me. |
| 25:37 |
Then shall the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when sawdid we theesee you hungry, and fedfeed thee?you, or athirst, thirsty and gavegive theeyou a drink? |
| 25:38 |
AndWhen whendid saw we theesee you as a stranger, and tooktake theeyou in?, or naked, and clothedclothe theeyou? |
| 25:39 |
AndWhen whendid saw we theesee you sick, or in prison, and camecome untoto theeyou? |
| 25:40 |
AndThe the King shallwill answer and say unto them, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Inasmuchbecause asyou ye did it untoto one of thesethe myleast brethren,of even these leastmy brothers, yeyou did it untoto me. |
| 25:41 |
Then shall he will say also untoto themthose on the left hand, Depart from me, yeyou cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:; |
| 25:42 |
for I was hungry, and yeyou diddidnt not give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and yeyou gave me no drink; |
| 25:43 |
I was a stranger, and yeyou tookdidnt take me not in; naked, and yeyou clotheddidnt clothe me not; sick, and in prison, and yeyou visiteddidnt visit me not. |
| 25:44 |
Then shall they will also answer, saying, Lord, when sawdid we theesee you hungry, or athirstthirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and diddidnt nothelp minister unto theeyou? |
| 25:45 |
Then shall he will answer them, saying, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Inasmuchbecause asyou yedidnt diddo it notto unto one of thesethe least of these, yeyou diddidnt do it notto unto me. |
| 25:46 |
AndThese thesewill shall go away into eternal punishment:, but the righteous into eternal life. |
| 26:1 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, he said untoto his disciples, |
| 26:2 |
YeYou know that after two days the passoverPassover comethis coming, and the Son of manMan iswill be delivered up to be crucified. |
| 26:3 |
Then were gathered together the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people, untowere gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas;. |
| 26:4 |
andThey they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, deceit and kill him. |
| 26:5 |
But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumultriot ariseoccur among the people. |
| 26:7 |
therea woman came untoto him a woman having an alabaster crusejar of exceedingvery preciousexpensive ointment, and she poured it uponon his head, as he sat at meatthe table. |
| 26:8 |
But when thehis disciples saw itthis, they hadwere indignationindignant, saying, ToWhy what purpose is this waste? |
| 26:9 |
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. |
| 26:10 |
ButHowever, Jesusknowing perceivingthis, itJesus said untoto them, Why do you trouble ye the woman? forShe shehas hathdone wrought a good work uponfor me. |
| 26:11 |
For yeyou always have the poor always with you;, but meyou yedont always have not alwaysme. |
| 26:12 |
For in thatpouring she poured this ointment uponon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. |
| 26:13 |
VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Wheresoeverwherever this gospelGood shallNews beis preached in the whole world, thatwhat also which this woman hathhas done shallwill also be spoken of foras a memorial of her. |
| 26:14 |
Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went untoto the chief priests, |
| 26:15 |
and said, What are yeyou willing to give me, andif I will deliver him untoto you? AndSo they weighed untoout for him thirty pieces of silver. |
| 26:16 |
AndFrom from that time he sought opportunity to deliverbetray him unto them. |
| 26:17 |
Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, Where wiltdo thouyou thatwant weus maketo readyprepare for theeyou to eat the passoverPassover? |
| 26:18 |
AndHe he said, Go into the city to such a mancertain person, and saytell unto him, The Teacher saithsays, My time is at hand;. I will keep the passoverPassover at thyyour house with my disciples. |
| 26:19 |
AndThe the disciples did as Jesus appointedcommanded them;, and they madeprepared ready the passoverPassover. |
| 26:20 |
Now when evenevening washad come, he was sittingreclining at meatthe table with the twelve disciples;. |
| 26:21 |
andAs as they were eating, he said, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, that one of you shallwill betray me. |
| 26:22 |
AndThey they were exceedingexceedingly sorrowful, and each began to sayask unto him, everyIt oneisnt me, Isis it I, Lord? |
| 26:23 |
AndHe he answered and said, He thatwho dipped his hand with me in the dish, thewill same shall betray me. |
| 26:24 |
The Son of manMan goeth, goes even as it is written of him:, but woe untoto that man through whom the Son of manMan is betrayed! goodIt werewould itbe better for that man if he had not been born. |
| 26:25 |
And Judas, who betrayed him, answered, andIt saidisnt me, Isis it I, Rabbi? He saithsaid untoto him, ThouYou hastsaid saidit. |
| 26:26 |
AndAs as they were eating, Jesus took bread, andgave blessedthanks for it, and brakebroke it;. andHe he gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. |
| 26:27 |
AndHe he took athe cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, DrinkAll yeof allyou ofdrink it;, |
| 26:28 |
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many untofor the remission of sins. |
| 26:29 |
But I saytell unto you, that I shallwill not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it newanew with you in my Fathers kingdomKingdom. |
| 26:30 |
AndWhen when they had sung a hymn, they went out intoto the mountMount of Olives. |
| 26:31 |
Then saith Jesus untosaid to them, All yeof shallyou will be offendedmade into stumble because of me thistonight, night: for it is written, I will smitestrike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shallwill be scattered abroad. |
| 26:33 |
But Peter answered and said unto him, IfEven if all shallwill be offendedmade into theestumble because of you, I will never be offendedmade to stumble. |
| 26:34 |
Jesus said untoto him, VerilyMost certainly I saytell untoyou thee, that this nighttonight, before the cockrooster crowcrows, thouyou shaltwill deny me thricethree times. |
| 26:35 |
Peter saithsaid untoto him, Even if I must die with theeyou, yetI will I not deny theeyou. LikewiseAll of the disciples also said all the discipleslikewise. |
| 26:36 |
Then cometh Jesus came with them untoto a place called Gethsemane, and saithsaid untoto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonderthere and pray. |
| 26:37 |
AndHe he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and soreseverely troubled. |
| 26:38 |
Then saithJesus hesaid untoto them, My soul is exceedingexceedingly sorrowful, even untoto death:. abideStay ye here, and watch with me. |
| 26:39 |
AndHe he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it beis possible, let this cup pass away from me:; nevertheless, not aswhat I willdesire, but aswhat thouyou wiltdesire. |
| 26:40 |
AndHe hecame comethto unto the disciples, and findethfound them sleeping, and saithsaid untoto Peter, What, couldcouldnt yeyou not watch with me for one hour? |
| 26:41 |
Watch and pray, that yeyou dont enter not into temptation:. theThe spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. |
| 26:42 |
Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this cannotcup cant pass away, exceptfrom me unless I drink it, thyyour willdesire be done. |
| 26:43 |
AndHe he came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. |
| 26:44 |
AndHe he left them again, and went away, and prayed a third time, saying again the same words. |
| 26:45 |
Then cometh he came to thehis disciples, and saithsaid untoto them, SleepAre onyou now, still sleeping and takeresting? your rest: beholdBehold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of manMan is betrayed into the hands of sinners. |
| 26:46 |
Arise, letlets us be going:. beholdBehold, he who betrays me is at hand that betrayeth me. |
| 26:47 |
AndWhile while he yetwas spakestill speaking, lobehold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and stavesclubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people. |
| 26:48 |
Now he thatwho betrayed him gavehad given them a sign, saying, WhomsoeverWhoever I shall kiss, thathe is he:the takeone. Seize him. |
| 26:49 |
AndImmediately straightway he came to Jesus, and said, HailGreetings, Rabbi;! and kissed him. |
| 26:50 |
And Jesus said untoto him, Friend, dowhy thatare foryou whichhere? thou art come. Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him. |
| 26:51 |
And beholdBehold, one of themthose thatwho were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and smotestruck the servant of the high priest, and struckcut off his ear. |
| 26:52 |
Then saith Jesus untosaid to him, Put upyour againsword thyback sword into its place:, for all theythose thatwho take the sword shallwill perishdie withby the sword. |
| 26:53 |
Or thinkestdo thouyou think that I cannotcouldnt beseechask my Father, and he shallwould even now send me more than twelve legions of angels? |
| 26:54 |
How then shouldwould the scripturesScriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be so? |
| 26:55 |
In that hour Jesus said Jesus to the multitudes, AreHave yeyou come out as against a robber with swords and stavesclubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and yeyou tookdidnt arrest me not. |
| 26:56 |
But all this ishas comehappened to pass, that the scripturesScriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him, and fled. |
| 26:57 |
AndThose theywho that had taken Jesus led him away to the house of Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together. |
| 26:58 |
But Peter followed him afarfrom off,a untodistance to the court of the high priest, and entered in, and sat with the officers, to see the end. |
| 26:59 |
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false witnesstestimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death;, |
| 26:60 |
and they found itnone. not,Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But afterwardat last two false witnesses came two, forward |
| 26:62 |
AndThe the high priest stood up, and said untoto him, AnswerestHave thouyou nothingno answer? whatWhat is itthis whichthat these witnesstestify against theeyou? |
| 26:63 |
But Jesus heldstayed his peacesilent. AndThe the high priest saidanswered unto him, I adjure theeyou by the living God, that thouyou tell us whether thouyou artare the Christ, the Son of God. |
| 26:64 |
Jesus saithsaid untoto him, ThouYou hasthave said: neverthelessso. Nevertheless, I saytell unto you, Henceforthafter yethis shallyou will see the Son of manMan sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaventhe sky. |
| 26:65 |
Then the high priest renttore his garmentsclothing, saying, He hathhas spoken blasphemy:! whatWhy furtherdo we need haveany wemore of witnesses? beholdBehold, now yeyou have heard thehis blasphemy:. |
| 26:66 |
whatWhat do you think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.! |
| 26:67 |
Then did they spitspat in his face and buffetbeat him: with their fists, and some smoteslapped him with the palms of their hands, |
| 26:68 |
saying, Prophesy untoto us, thouyou Christ:! whoWho ishit he that struck theeyou? |
| 26:69 |
Now Peter was sitting withoutoutside in the court:, and a maid came untoto him, saying, ThouYou were also wast with Jesus, the Galilaean.Galilean! |
| 26:70 |
But he denied it before them all, saying, I dont know not what thouyou sayestare talking about. |
| 26:71 |
AndWhen when he washad gone out intoonto the porch, anothersomeone maidelse saw him, and saithsaid untoto themthose thatwho were there, This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth. |
| 26:72 |
AndAgain again he denied it with an oath, I dont know not the man. |
| 26:73 |
AndAfter after a little while theythose thatwho stood by came and said to Peter, OfSurely ayou truthare thou also art one of them;, for thyyour speech makethmakes theeyou known. |
| 26:74 |
Then he began he to curse and to swear, I dont know not the man.! AndImmediately straightway the cockrooster crewcrowed. |
| 26:75 |
And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said to him, Before the cockrooster crowcrows, thouyou shaltwill deny me thricethree times. AndThen he went out, and wept bitterly. |
| 27:1 |
Now when morning washad come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:. |
| 27:2 |
andThey they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor. |
| 27:3 |
Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that heJesus was condemned, repentedfelt himselfremorse, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, |
| 27:4 |
saying, I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood. But they said, What is that to us? You see thou to it. |
| 27:5 |
AndHe hethrew cast down the pieces of silver intoin the sanctuary, and departed;. andThen he went away and hanged himself. |
| 27:6 |
AndThe the chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, ItIts is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood. |
| 27:7 |
AndThey they took counsel, and bought with them the potters field, with them to bury strangers in. |
| 27:8 |
WhereforeTherefore that field washas been called, The fieldField of blood,Blood untoto this day. |
| 27:9 |
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, AndThey they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him thatupon waswhom priceda price had been set, whom certainsome of the children of Israel did price;priced, |
| 27:10 |
and they gave them for the potters field, as the Lord appointedcommanded me. |
| 27:11 |
Now Jesus stood before the governor:; and the governor asked him, saying, ArtAre thouyou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said untoto him, ThouSo sayestyou say. |
| 27:12 |
AndWhen when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. |
| 27:13 |
Then saith Pilate untosaid to him, HearestDont thouyou nothear how many things they witnesstestify against theeyou? |
| 27:14 |
AndHe he gave him no answer, not even to one word:, insomuchso that the governor marvelledmarveled greatly. |
| 27:15 |
Now at the feast the governor was wontaccustomed to release untoto the multitude one prisoner, whom they woulddesired. |
| 27:16 |
AndThey they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. |
| 27:17 |
When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said untoto them, Whom willdo yeyou thatwant Ime to release untoto you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ? |
| 27:18 |
For he knew that forbecause of envy they had delivered him up. |
| 27:19 |
AndWhile while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent untoto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that righteous man;, for I have suffered many things thistoday day in a dream because of him. |
| 27:20 |
Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes thatto they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. |
| 27:21 |
But the governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two willdo yeyou thatwant Ime to release untoto you? AndThey they said, Barabbas.! |
| 27:22 |
Pilate saithsaid untoto them, What then shall I do untoto Jesus who is called Christ? They all saysaid to him, Let him be crucified.! |
| 27:23 |
AndBut hethe governor said, Why,? whatWhat evil hathhas he done? But they cried out exceedingly, saying, Let him be crucified.! |
| 27:24 |
So when Pilate saw that henothing prevailedwas nothingbeing gained, but rather that a tumultdisturbance was arisingstarting, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man;person. You see ye to it. |
| 27:25 |
AndAll all the people answered, andMay said, his His blood be on us, and on our children.! |
| 27:26 |
Then he released heBarabbas untoto them, Barabbas; but Jesus he scourgedflogged and delivered to be crucified. |
| 27:27 |
Then the governors soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered unto him the whole bandgarrison together against him. |
| 27:28 |
AndThey they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe on him. |
| 27:29 |
AndThey theybraided platted a crown of thorns and put it uponon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! |
| 27:30 |
AndThey they spat uponon him, and took the reed and smotestruck him on the head. |
| 27:31 |
AndWhen when they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him the robe, and put his clothes on him his garments, and led him away to crucify him. |
| 27:32 |
AndAs as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name:, himand they compelled him to go with them, that he might bearcarry his cross. |
| 27:33 |
AndWhen when they werecame cometo unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, The place of a skull, |
| 27:34 |
they gave him sour wine to drink mingledmixed with gall:. andWhen when he had tasted it, he would not drink. |
| 27:35 |
AndWhen when they had crucified him, they parteddivided his garmentsclothing among them, casting lots;, |
| 27:37 |
AndThey they set up over his head histhe accusation against him written, ThisTHIS isIS JesusJESUS, theTHE KingKING ofOF theTHE JewsJEWS. |
| 27:38 |
Then are there were two robbers crucified with him two robbers, one on thehis right hand and one on the left. |
| 27:39 |
AndThose theywho that passed by railedblasphemed on him, wagging their heads, |
| 27:40 |
and saying, ThouYou thatwho destroyestdestroy the temple, and buildestbuild it in three days, save thyself:yourself! ifIf thouyou artare the Son of God, come down from the cross.! |
| 27:41 |
InLikewise like manner also the chief priests also mocking him, with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said, |
| 27:42 |
He saved others;, himselfbut he cannotcant save himself. HeIf he is the King of Israel;, let him now come down from the cross now, and we will believe onin him. |
| 27:43 |
He trustethtrusts onin God;. letLet himGod deliver him now, if he desirethwants him:; for he said, I am the Son of God. |
| 27:44 |
AndThe the robbers also thatwho were crucified with him cast uponon him the same reproach. |
| 27:46 |
AndAbout about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lamalima sabachthani? thatThat is, My God, my God, why hasthave thouyou forsaken me? |
| 27:47 |
AndSome some of them thatwho stood there, when they heard it, said, This man callethis calling Elijah. |
| 27:48 |
AndImmediately straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him toa drink. |
| 27:49 |
AndThe the rest said, Let him be;. letLets us see whether Elijah comethcomes to save him. |
| 27:50 |
And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. |
| 27:51 |
And beholdBehold, the veil of the temple was renttorn in two from the top to the bottom;. andThe the earth didquaked quake; and the rocks were rent;split. |
| 27:52 |
andThe the tombs were opened;, and many bodies of the saints thatwho had fallen asleep were raised; |
| 27:53 |
and coming forth out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared untoto many. |
| 27:54 |
Now the centurion, and theythose thatwho were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, fearedwere exceedinglyterrified, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.! |
| 27:55 |
AndMany many women were there beholdingwatching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministeringserving unto him:. |
| 27:56 |
amongAmong whomthem waswere Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. |
| 27:57 |
AndWhen whenevening evenhad was come, there came a rich man from Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was also Jesus disciple:, came. |
| 27:58 |
thisThis man went to Pilate, and asked for theJesus body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded itthe body to be given up. |
| 27:59 |
And Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, |
| 27:60 |
and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewncut out in the rock:. andThen he rolled a greatlarge stone toagainst the door of the tomb, and departed. |
| 27:61 |
And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting overopposite against the sepulchretomb. |
| 27:62 |
Now on the morrownext day, which iswas the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together untoto Pilate, |
| 27:63 |
saying, Sir, we remember thatwhat that deceiver said while he was yetstill alive,: After three days I will rise again. |
| 27:64 |
Command therefore that the sepulchretomb be made suresecure until the third day, lest haplyperhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and saytell unto the people, He is risen from the dead:; and the last errordeception will be worse than the first. |
| 27:65 |
Pilate said untoto them, YeYou have a guard:. goGo, make it as suresecure as yeyou can. |
| 27:66 |
So they went, with the guard and made the sepulchretomb suresecure, sealing the stone, the guard being with them. |
| 28:1 |
Now lateafter on the sabbath daySabbath, as it began to dawn towardon the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the sepulchretomb. |
| 28:2 |
And beholdBehold, there was a great earthquake;, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, the sky and came and rolled away the stone, from the door and sat uponon it. |
| 28:3 |
His appearance was aslike lightning, and his raimentclothing white as snow:. |
| 28:4 |
andFor for fear of him, the watchersguards did quakeshook, and became aslike dead men. |
| 28:5 |
AndThe the angel answered and said unto the women, FearDont notbe ye;afraid, for I know that yeyou seek Jesus, who hathhas been crucified. |
| 28:6 |
He is not here;, for he ishas risen, evenjust aslike he said. Come, see the place where the Lord laywas lying. |
| 28:7 |
AndGo go quickly, and tell his disciples, He ishas risen from the dead;, and lobehold, he goethgoes before you into Galilee; there shallyou yewill see him:. loBehold, I have told you. |
| 28:8 |
AndThey they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word. |
| 28:9 |
AndAs they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, AllRejoice! hail. They And they came and took hold of his feet, and worshippedworshiped him. |
| 28:10 |
Then saith Jesus untosaid to them, FearDont not:be goafraid. Go tell my brethrenbrothers that they departshould go into Galilee, and there shall they will see me. |
| 28:11 |
Now while they were going, behold, some of the guardguards came into the city, and told unto the chief priests all the things that werehad come to passhappened. |
| 28:12 |
AndWhen when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave mucha moneylarge untoamount of silver to the soldiers, |
| 28:13 |
saying, Say ye,that Hishis disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. |
| 28:14 |
AndIf if this comecomes to the governors ears, we will persuade him, and ridmake you free of careworry. |
| 28:15 |
So they took the money, and did as they were taught:told. andThis this saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continuethcontinues until this daytoday. |
| 28:16 |
But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, untoto the mountain where Jesus had appointedsent them. |
| 28:17 |
AndWhen when they saw him, they worshippedbowed down to him; but some doubted. |
| 28:18 |
And Jesus came to them and spakespoke untoto them, saying, All authority hathhas been given untoto me in heaven and on earth. |
| 28:19 |
Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them intoin the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:, |
| 28:20 |
teaching them to observe all things whatsoeverthat I commanded you:. and loBehold, I am with you always, even untoto the end of the worldage. Amen. |
