| 1:4 |
Whereas Edom saithsays, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places;, thusYahweh saithof JehovahArmies of hostssays, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shallwill call them The borderWicked of wickednessLand, andeven Thethe people against whom JehovahYahweh hathshows indignationwrath for everforever. |
| 1:5 |
AndYour your eyes shallwill see, and yeyou shallwill say, JehovahYahweh beis magnifiedgreat—even beyond the border of Israel.! |
| 1:6 |
A son honorethhonors his father, and a servant his master:. ifIf then I am a father, then where is minemy honor? andAnd if I am a master, where is mythe fearrespect due me? saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies untoto you, O priests, thatwho despise my name. AndYou ye say, WhereinHow have we despised thyyour name? |
| 1:7 |
YeYou offer polluted bread uponon minemy altar. AndYou ye say, WhereinHow have we polluted theeyou? In that yeyou say, TheYahwehs table of Jehovah is contemptible. |
| 1:8 |
AndWhen whenyou ye offer the blind for sacrifice, itisnt isthat no evil!? andAnd when yeyou offer the lame and sick, itisnt isthat no evil!? Present it now untoto thyyour governor;! willWill he be pleased with theeyou? orOr will he accept thyyour person? saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 1:9 |
And nowNow, Iplease pray you, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious untoto us:. With this, hath been by your means: will he accept any of your personsyou? saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 1:10 |
Oh that there were one among you thatwho would shut the doors, that yeyou might not kindle fire on minemy altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. |
| 1:11 |
For from the rising of the sun even untoto theits going down, of the same my name shallis be great among the Gentiles;nations, and in every place incense shallwill be offered untoto my name, and a pure offering:; for my name shallis be great among the Gentilesnations, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 1:12 |
But yeyou profane it, inwhen thatyou ye say, TheYahwehs table of Jehovah is polluted, and theits fruit thereof, even its food, is contemptible. |
| 1:13 |
YeYou say also, Behold, what a weariness it is it! andAnd yeyou have snuffedsniffed at it, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies; and yeyou have brought that which was taken by violence, and the lame, and the sick; thus yeyou bring the offering:. shouldShould I accept this at your hand? saithsays JehovahYahweh. |
| 1:14 |
But cursed be the deceiver, is cursed who hathhas in his flock a male, and voweth, vows and sacrificethsacrifices untoto the Lord a blemisheddefective thing; for I am a great King, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, and my name is terribleawesome among the Gentilesnations. |
| 2:1 |
And nowNow, Oyou ye priests, this commandment is for you. |
| 2:2 |
If yeyou will not hearlisten, and if yeyou will not laytake it to heart, to give glory untoto my name, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, then I will I send the curse uponon you, and I will curse your blessings;. yeaIndeed, I have cursed them already, because yeyou do not laytake it to heart. |

| 2:5 |
My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might fearbe reverent toward me; and he fearedwas reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name. |
| 2:6 |
The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips:. heHe walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity. |
| 2:7 |
For the priests lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 2:8 |
But yeyou arehave turned asideaway outfrom of the way;path. yeYou have caused many to stumble in the law;. yeYou have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 2:9 |
Therefore I have I also made you contemptible and basewicked before all the people, according asto yethe way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect offor persons in the law. |
| 2:10 |
HaveDont we not all have one father? hathHasnt not one God created us? whyWhy do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers? |
| 2:11 |
Judah hathhas dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hathhas profaned the holiness of JehovahYahweh which he lovethloves, and hathhas married the daughter of a foreign god. |
| 2:12 |
JehovahYahweh will cut off, to the man thatwho doethdoes this, him thatwho wakethwakes and him thatwho answerethanswers, out of the tents of Jacob, and him thatwho offerethoffers an offering untoto JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 2:13 |
AndThis this again yeyou do: yeyou cover theYahwehs altar of Jehovah with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, insomuchbecause that he regardethdoesnt notregard the offering any more, neither receivethreceives it with good will at your hand. |
| 2:14 |
Yet yeyou say, WhereforeWhy? Because JehovahYahweh hathhas been witness between theeyou and the wife of thyyour youth, against whom thouyou hasthave dealt treacherously, though she is thyyour companion, and the wife of thyyour covenant. |
| 2:15 |
AndDid did he not make you one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? AndWhy wherefore one? He sought a godly seedoffspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let noneno one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. |
| 2:16 |
ForOne Iwho hatehates puttingand awaydivorces, saithsays JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, andcovers him that covereth his garment with violence,! saithsays JehovahYahweh of hosts:Armies. thereforeTherefore takepay heedattention to your spirit, that yeyou dealdont notbe treacherouslyunfaithful. |
| 2:17 |
YeYou have wearied JehovahYahweh with your words. Yet yeyou say, WhereinHow have we wearied him? In that yeyou say, EveryEveryone onewho thatdoes doeth evil is good in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, and he delightethdelights in them; or whereWhere is the God of justice? |
| 3:1 |

| 3:2 |
But who can abideendure the day of his coming? andAnd who shallwill stand when he appearethappears? forFor he is like a refiners fire, and like fullerslaunderers soap:; |
| 3:3 |
and he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them as gold and silver; and they shall offer untoto JehovahYahweh offerings in righteousness. |
| 3:4 |
Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant untoto Jehovah,Yahweh as in the days of old, and as in ancient years. |
| 3:5 |
And I will come near to you to judgment;. and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the false swearersperjurers, and against those thatwho oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and thatwho turndeprive aside the sojournerforeigner fromof his rightjustice, and dont fear not me, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 3:6 |
For I, JehovahYahweh, dont change not; therefore yeyou, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. |
| 3:7 |
From the days of your fathers yeyou have turned asideaway from minemy ordinances, and have not kept them. Return untoto me, and I will return untoto you, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. But yeyou say, WhereinHow shall we return? |
| 3:8 |
Will a man rob God? yetYet yeyou rob me.! But yeyou say, WhereinHow have we robbed theeyou? In tithes and offerings. |
| 3:9 |
YeYou are cursed with the curse; for yeyou rob me, even this whole nation. |
| 3:10 |
Bring ye the whole tithe into the store housestorehouse, that there may be food in my house, and provetest me now herewithin this, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shallwill not be room enough toroom receive itfor. |
| 3:11 |
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before theits time in the field, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 3:12 |
AndAll all nations shall call you happy;blessed, for yeyou shallwill be a delightsomedelightful land, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 3:13 |
Your words have been stoutharsh against me, saithsays JehovahYahweh. Yet yeyou say, What have we spoken against theeyou? |
| 3:14 |
YeYou have said, It is vain to serve God;, and whatWhat profit is it that we have keptfollowed his charge, instructions and that we have walked mournfully before JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies? |
| 3:15 |
andNow now we call the proud happy; yeayes, theythose thatwho work wickedness are built up; yeayes, they tempt God, and escape. |
| 3:16 |
Then theythose thatwho feared JehovahYahweh spakespoke one with another; and JehovahYahweh hearkened, listened and heard, and a book of remembrancememory was written before him, for themthose thatwho feared Jehovah,Yahweh and thatwho thoughthonored upon his name. |
| 3:17 |
AndThey they shall be mine, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, evenmy mine own possession, in the day that I make;. and I will spare them, as a man sparethspares his own son thatwho servethserves him. |
| 3:18 |
Then you shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him thatwho servethserves God and him thatwho servethdoesnt serve him not. |
| 4:1 |
For, behold, the day comethcomes, itburning burnethlike as a furnace;, andwhen all the proud, and all thatwho work wickedness, shallwill be stubble;. andThe the day that comethcomes shallwill burn them up, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies, so that it shallwill leave them neither root nor branch. |
| 4:2 |
But untoto you thatwho fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings;. andYou yewill shall go forth, out and gambolleap aslike calves of the stall. |
| 4:3 |
AndYou ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shallwill be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make, saithsays JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies. |
| 4:4 |
