And Jesus rebuked him, saying, HoldBe thysilent peace, and come out of him.! AndWhen when the demon had thrown him down in the midstmiddle of them, he came out of him, having done him no hurtharm. |
| 4:36 |
AndAmazement amazement came uponon all, and they spakespoke together, one with another, saying, What is this word? forFor with authority and power he commandethcommands the unclean spirits, and they come out.! |
| 4:37 |
AndNews thereabout him went forthout a rumor concerning him into every place of the surrounding region round about. |

AndHe he rose up from the synagogue, and entered into theSimons house of Simon. And Simons wifes mother in law was holdenafflicted with a great fever;, and they besoughtbegged him forto help her. |
| 4:39 |
AndHe he stood over her, and rebuked the fever;, and it left her:. andImmediately immediately she rose up and ministeredserved unto them. |
| 4:40 |
AndWhen when the sun was setting, all theythose thatwho had any sick with diversvarious diseases brought them untoto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. |
| 4:41 |
AndDemons demons also came out fromof many, crying out, and saying, ThouYou artare the Christ, the Son of God.! AndRebuking rebuking them, he suffereddidnt allow them not to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ. |

| 4:44 |
AndHe he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee. |

Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed uponon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;. |
| 5:2 |
andHe he saw two boats standing by the lake:, but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets. |
| 5:3 |
AndHe he entered into one of the boats, which was Simons, and asked him to put out a little from the land. AndHe he sat down and taught the multitudes outfrom of the boat. |
| 5:4 |
AndWhen when he had leftfinished speaking, he said untoto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draughtcatch. |
| 5:5 |
And Simon answered and saidhim, Master, we toiledworked all night, and tookcaught nothing:; but at thyyour word I will let down the netsnet. |
| 5:6 |
AndWhen when they had done this, they inclosedcaught a great multitude of fishes;fish, and their netsnet werewas breaking;. |
| 5:7 |
andThey they beckoned untoto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. AndThey they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. |
| 5:8 |
But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus knees, saying, Depart from me;, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. |
| 5:9 |
For he was amazed, and all thatwho were with him, at the draughtcatch of thefish fishes which they had takencaught; |
| 5:10 |
and so also were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said untoto Simon, FearDont not;be fromafraid. henceforthFrom thounow shalton catchyou menwill be catching people alive. |
| 5:11 |
AndWhen when they had brought their boats to land, they left alleverything, and followed him. |
| 5:12 |

| 5:13 |
AndHe he stretched forthout his hand, and touched him, saying, I will;want beto. thouBe made clean. AndImmediately straightway the leprosy departedleft from him. |
| 5:14 |
AndHe hecommanded charged him to tell no man:one, butBut go thyyour way, and show thyselfyourself to the priest, and offer for thyyour cleansing, according asto what Moses commanded, for a testimony untoto them. |
| 5:15 |
But so much the morereport wentconcerning abroadhim thespread reportmuch concerningmore, him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. |
| 5:16 |
But he withdrew himself ininto the deserts, desert and prayed. |
| 5:17 |
AndOn it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctorsteachers of the law sitting by, who werehad come out of every village of Galilee, andJudea, Judaea and Jerusalem:. andThe the power of the Lord was with him to heal them. |
| 5:18 |
And beholdBehold, men bringbrought on a bedparalyzed a man thaton wasa palsied:cot, and they sought to bring him in, and to lay him before himJesus. |
| 5:19 |
AndNot not finding bya what way theyto might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couchcot into the midstmiddle before Jesus. |
| 5:20 |
AndSeeing seeing their faith, he said to him, Man, thyyour sins are forgiven theeyou. |
| 5:21 |
AndThe the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this thatwho speakethspeaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? |
| 5:22 |
But Jesus, perceiving their reasoningsthoughts, answered and said unto them, Why reasonare yeyou reasoning so in your hearts? |
| 5:23 |
Which is easier, to say, ThyYour sins are forgiven thee;you, or to say, Arise and walk? |
| 5:24 |
But that yeyou may know that the Son of manMan hathhas authority on earth to forgive sins, he said untoto himthe thatparalyzed was palsiedman, I saytell unto theeyou, Arisearise, and take up thyyour couchcot, and go untoto thyyour house. |
| 5:25 |
AndImmediately immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereonwhich he laywas laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God. |
| 5:26 |
AndAmazement amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God;. andThey they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to daytoday. |
| 5:27 |
AndAfter after these things he went forth, out and beheldsaw a publican, tax collector named Levi, sitting at the placetax of tolloffice, and said untoto him, Follow me.! |
| 5:28 |
AndHe heleft forsook alleverything, and rose up and followed him. |
| 5:29 |
And Levi made him a great feast for him in his house:. andThere there was a great multitudecrowd of publicanstax collectors and of others thatwho were sittingreclining at meat with them. |
| 5:30 |
AndTheir thescribes Pharisees and theirthe scribesPharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do yeyou eat and drink with the publicanstax collectors and sinners? |
| 5:31 |
And Jesus answeringanswered said unto them, TheyThose thatwho are inhealthy health have no need offor a physician;, but theythose thatwho are sick do. |
| 5:32 |
I amhave not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. |
| 5:33 |
AndThey they said untoto him, TheWhy do Johns disciples ofoften John fast often, and makepray, supplications; likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees;, but thineyours eat and drink.? |
| 5:34 |
AndHe Jesus said untoto them, Can yeyou make the sonsfriends of the bridebridegroom chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? |
| 5:35 |
But the days will come; and when the bridegroom shallwill be taken away from them,. thenThen they will they fast in those days. |
| 5:36 |
AndHe healso spaketold also a parable untoto them:. No manone rendethputs a piece from a new garment andon putteth it upon an old garment;, or else he will rendtear the new, and also the piece from the new will not agreematch with the old. |
| 5:37 |
AndNo noone manputs putteth new wine into old winewineskins, skins;or else the new wine will burst the skins, and itselfit will be spilled, and the skins will perishbe destroyed. |
| 5:38 |
But new wine must be put into fresh winewineskins, skinsand both are preserved. |
| 5:39 |
AndNo no man having drunk old wine desirethimmediately desires new;, for he saithsays, The old is goodbetter. |
| 6:1 |
Now iton camethe tosecond passSabbath onafter athe sabbathfirst, that he was going through the grainfields;grain andfields. hisHis disciples plucked the ears, heads of grain and did eatate, rubbing them in their hands. |
| 6:2 |
But certainsome of the Pharisees said to them, Why do yeyou do that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbathSabbath day? |
| 6:3 |
And Jesus, answering them, said, HaveHavent yeyou not read even this, what David did, when he was hungry, he, and theythose thatwho were with him;, |
| 6:4 |
how he entered into theGods house of God, and took and ate the showbreadshow bread, and gave also to themthose thatwho were with him;, which it is not lawful to eat saveexcept for the priests alone? |
| 6:5 |
AndHe he said untoto them, The Son of manMan is Lord of the sabbathSabbath. |
| 6:6 |
AndIt italso camehappened to pass on another sabbath,Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught:. andThere there was a man there, and his right hand was withered. |
| 6:7 |
AndThe the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the sabbath;Sabbath, that they might find howan toaccusation accuseagainst him. |
| 6:8 |
But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man thatwho had histhe withered hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midstmiddle. AndHe he arose and stood forth. |
| 6:9 |
AndThen Jesus said untoto them, I will ask you, something: Is it lawful on the sabbathSabbath to do good, or to do harm? toTo save a life, or to destroy itkill? |
| 6:10 |
AndHe he looked roundaround aboutat on them all, and said untoto himthe man, Stretch forthout thyyour hand. AndHe he did, so: and his hand was restored as sound as the other. |
| 6:11 |
But they were filled with madness;rage, and communedtalked with one with another about what they might do to Jesus. |
| 6:12 |
AndIn it came to pass in these days, that he went out intoto the mountain to pray;, and he continued all night in prayer to God. |
| 6:13 |
AndWhen when it was day, he called his disciples;, and from them he chose from them twelve, whom he also he named apostles: |
| 6:14 |
Simon, whom he also named Peter,; and Andrew, his brother,; and James; and John,; and Philip; and Bartholomew,; |
| 6:15 |
and Matthew; and Thomas,; and James the son of Alphaeus,; and Simon who was called the Zealot,; |
| 6:16 |
and Judas the son of James,; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor;. |
| 6:17 |
andHe he came down with them, and stood on a level place, andwith a greatcrowd multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all JudaeaJudea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;, |
| 6:18 |
andas theywell thatas those who were troubled withby unclean spirits; and they were being healed. |
| 6:19 |
AndAll all the multitude sought to touch him;, for power came forthout fromof him, and healed them all. |
| 6:20 |
AndHe he lifted up his eyes onto his disciples, and said,: Blessed are yeyou who are poor:, for yoursGods Kingdom is the kingdom of Godyours. |
| 6:21 |
Blessed are yeyou thatwho hunger now:, for yeyou shallwill be filled. Blessed are yeyou thatwho weep now:, for yeyou shallwill laugh. |
| 6:22 |
Blessed are ye,you when men shall hate you, and when they shallexclude separate you from their company, and reproachmock you, and castthrow out your name as evil, for the Son of mansMans sake. |
| 6:23 |
Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy:, for behold, your reward is great in heaven;, for intheir fathers did the same mannerthing didto their fathers unto the prophets. |
| 6:24 |
But woe untoto you thatwho are rich! forFor yeyou have received your consolation. |
| 6:25 |
Woe untoto you, yeyou thatwho are full now!, for yeyou shallwill hungerbe hungry. Woe untoto you, yewho that laugh now!, for yeyou shallwill mourn and weep. |
| 6:26 |
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!, for intheir fathers did the same mannerthing did their fathers to the false prophets. |
| 6:27 |
But I saytell unto you thatwho hear,: Lovelove your enemies, do good to themthose thatwho hate you, |
| 6:28 |
bless themthose thatwho curse you, and pray for themthose thatwho despitefullymistreat use you. |
| 6:29 |
To him thatwho smitethstrikes theeyou on the one cheek, offer also the other; and from him thatwho takethtakes away thyyour cloak, dont withhold notyour thy coat also. |
| 6:30 |
Give to everyeveryone onewho thatasks askethyou, thee; and ofdont ask him thatwho takethtakes away thyyour goods askto give them notback again. |
| 6:31 |
AndAs asyou ye would thatlike menpeople shouldto do to you, do yeexactly alsoso to them likewise. |
| 6:32 |
AndIf ifyou ye love themthose thatwho love you, what thankcredit haveis yethat to you? forFor even sinners love those thatwho love them. |
| 6:33 |
AndIf ifyou ye do good to themthose thatwho do good to you, what thankcredit haveis yethat to you? forFor even sinners do the same. |
| 6:34 |
AndIf ifyou ye lend to themthose offrom whom yeyou hope to receive, what thankcredit haveis yethat to you? evenEven sinners lend to sinners, to receive againback as much. |
| 6:35 |
But love your enemies, and do them good, and lend, neverexpecting despairingnothing back; and your reward shallwill be great, and yeyou shallwill be sonschildren of the Most High:; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. |
| 6:36 |
BeTherefore yebe merciful, even as your Father is also merciful. |
| 6:37 |
AndDont judge not, and yeyou shallwont not be judged:. andDont condemn not, and yeyou shallwont not be condemned:. releaseSet free, and yeyou shallwill be released:set free. |
| 6:38 |
giveGive, and it shallwill be given untoto you;: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shallwill theybe givegiven intoto your bosomyou. For with whatthe same measure yeyou metemeasure it shallwill be measured back to you again. |
| 6:39 |
AndHe hespoke spake also a parable untoto them,. Can the blind guide the blind? shallWont they not both fall into a pit? |
| 6:40 |
TheA disciple is not above his teacher:, but everyeveryone one when he is perfectedfully shalltrained will be aslike his teacher. |
| 6:41 |
AndWhy whydo beholdestyou thousee the motespeck of chaff that is in thyyour brothers eye, but considerestdont notconsider the beam that is in thineyour own eye? |
| 6:42 |
Or how canstcan thouyou saytell toyour thy brother, Brother, let me castremove out the motespeck of chaff that is in thineyour eye, when thouyou thyselfyourself beholdestdont notsee the beam that is in thineyour own eye? ThouYou hypocrite,! castFirst outremove first the beam outfrom ofyour thine own eye, and then shaltyou thoucan see clearly to castremove out the motespeck of chaff that is in thyyour brothers eye. |
| 6:43 |
For there is no good tree that bringethproduces forthrotten corrupt fruit;, nor again a corruptrotten tree that bringethproduces forth good fruit. |
| 6:44 |
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For ofpeople dont gather figs from thorns, mennor do notthey gather figs, grapes norfrom of a bramble bush gather they grapes. |
| 6:45 |
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringethbrings forthout that which is good;, and the evil man out of the evil treasure bringethof forthhis heart brings out that which is evil:, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speakethspeaks. |
| 6:46 |
AndWhy whydo you call ye me, Lord, Lord, and dont do not the things which I say? |
| 6:47 |
EveryEveryone onewho thatcomes comethto unto me, and hearethhears my words, and doethdoes them, I will show you towho whom he is like:. |
| 6:48 |
heHe is like a man building a house, who diggeddug and went deep, and laid a foundation uponon the rock:. andWhen when a flood arose, the stream brakebroke against that house, and could not shake it:, because it hadwas beenfounded wellon buildedthe rock. |
| 6:49 |
But he thatwho heareth, hears and doethdoesnt notdo, is like a man thatwho built a house uponon the earth without a foundation;, against which the stream brakebroke, and straightwayimmediately it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great. |
| 7:1 |
After he had endedfinished allspeaking his sayings in the earshearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum. |
| 7:2 |
AndA a certain centurions servant, who was dear untoto him, was sick and at the point of death. |
| 7:3 |
AndWhen when he heard concerningabout Jesus, he sent untoto him elders of the Jews, asking him thatto he would come and save his servant. |
| 7:4 |
AndWhen they, when they came to Jesus, besoughtthey begged him earnestly, saying, He is worthy thatfor thouyou shouldestto do this for him;, |
| 7:5 |
for he lovethloves our nation, and himselfhe built us our synagogue for us. |
| 7:6 |
And Jesus went with them. AndWhen when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying untoto him, Lord, dont trouble notyourself, thyself; for I am not worthy thatfor thouyou shouldestto come under my roof:. |
| 7:7 |
whereforeTherefore neitherI thoughtdidnt Ieven think myself worthy to come untoto thee:you; but say the word, and my servant shallwill be healed. |
| 7:8 |
For I also am a man setplaced under authority, having under myself soldiers:. and I saytell to this one, Go,! and he goethgoes; and to another, Come,! and he comethcomes; and to my servant, Do this, and he doethdoes it. |
| 7:9 |
AndWhen when Jesus heard these things, he marvelledmarveled at him, and turned and said untoto the multitude thatwho followed him, I saytell unto you, I have not found sosuch great faith, no, not in Israel. |
| 7:10 |
AndThose theywho that were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant wholewho had been sick was well. |
| 7:11 |
AndSoon it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain;. andMany of his disciples, wentalong with him, and a great multitude, went with him. |
| 7:12 |
Now when he drewcame near to the gate of the city, behold, thereone who was dead was carried out one that was dead, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow:. andMany much people of the city waswere with her. |
| 7:13 |
AndWhen when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said untoto her, WeepDont notcry. |
| 7:14 |
AndHe he came nighnear and touched the bier:coffin, and the bearers stood still. AndHe he said, Young man, I saytell unto theeyou, Arise.arise! |
| 7:15 |
AndHe hewho that was dead sat up, and began to speak. AndThen he gave him to his mother. |
| 7:16 |
AndFear fear took hold onof all:, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet ishas arisen among us:! and, God hathhas visited his people.! |
| 7:17 |
AndThis this report went forthout concerning him in the whole of Judaea,Judea and in all the surrounding region round about. |
| 7:18 |
AndThe the disciples of John told him ofabout all these things. |
| 7:19 |
And John, calling untoto himhimself two of his disciples, sent them to the LordJesus, saying, ArtAre thouyou hethe thatone comethwho is coming, or lookshould we look for another? |
| 7:20 |
AndWhen when the men werehad come untoto him, they said, John the BaptistBaptizer hathhas sent us untoto theeyou, saying, ArtAre thouyou he thatwho comethcomes, or lookshould we look for another? |
| 7:21 |
In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and onto many thatwho were blind he bestowedgave sight. |
| 7:22 |
AndJesus he answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which yeyou have seen and heard;: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidingsnews preached to them. |
| 7:23 |
AndBlessed blessed is he, whosoeverwho shallfinds find no occasion offor stumbling in me. |
| 7:24 |
AndWhen whenJohns the messengers ofhad John were departed, he began to saytell unto the multitudes concerningabout John, What wentdid yeyou go out into the wilderness to beholdsee? aA reed shaken withby the wind? |
| 7:25 |
But what wentdid yeyou go out to see? aA man clothed in soft raimentclothing? Behold, theythose thatwho are gorgeously apparelled, dressed and live delicately, are in kings courts. |
| 7:26 |
But what wentdid yeyou go out to see? aA prophet? YeaYes, I saytell unto you, and much more than a prophet. |
| 7:27 |
This is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thyyour face, Whowho shallwill prepare thyyour way before theeyou. |
| 7:28 |
For I saytell unto you, Amongamong themthose thatwho are born of women there is nonenot a greater prophet than John: the Baptizer; yet he thatwho is butleast little in theGods kingdomKingdom of God is greater than he. |
| 7:29 |
AndWhen all the people whenand theythe tax collectors heard this, andthey thedeclared publicans,God justifiedto Godbe just, beinghaving been baptized with theJohns baptism of John. |
| 7:30 |
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected for themselves the counsel of God, not being not baptized ofby him themselves. |
| 7:31 |
WhereuntoTo what then shallshould I likencompare the menpeople of this generation,? andWhat to what are they like? |
| 7:32 |
They are like unto children thatwho sit in the marketplace, and call to one to another;, who saysaying, We piped untoto you, and yeyou diddidnt not dance;. weWe wailedmourned, and yeyou diddidnt not weep. |
| 7:33 |
For John the BaptistBaptizer iscame comeneither eating no bread nor drinking wine;, and yeyou say, He hathhas a demon. |
| 7:34 |
The Son of manMan ishas come eating and drinking;, and yeyou say, Behold, a gluttonousglutton man, and a winebibberdrunkard, a friend of publicanstax collectors and sinners! |
| 7:35 |
AndWisdom wisdom is justified ofby all her children. |
| 7:36 |
AndOne one of the Pharisees desiredinvited him thatto he would eat with him. AndHe he entered into the Pharisees house, and sat downat tothe meattable. |
| 7:37 |
And beholdBehold, a woman who was in the city, who was a sinner;, and when she knew that he was sittingreclining at meat in the Pharisees house, she brought an alabaster crusejar of ointment,. |
| 7:38 |
andStanding standing behind at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. |
| 7:39 |
Now when the Pharisee thatwho had biddeninvited him saw it, he spakesaid withinto himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what mannerkind of woman this is thatwho touchethtouches him, that she is a sinner. |
| 7:40 |
And Jesus answeringanswered said unto him, Simon, I have somewhatsomething to saytell unto theeyou. AndHe he saithsaid, Teacher, say on. |
| 7:41 |
A certain lender had two debtors:. theThe one owed five hundred shillingsdenarii, and the other fifty. |
| 7:42 |
When they hadcouldnt not wherewith to pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most? |
| 7:43 |
Simon answered and said, He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most. AndHe he said untoto him, ThouYou hasthave rightlyjudged judgedcorrectly. |
| 7:44 |
AndTurning turning to the woman, he said untoto Simon, SeestDo thouyou see this woman? I entered into thyyour house, thouand gavestyou gave me no water for my feet:, but she hathhas wettedwet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her hairhead. |
| 7:45 |
ThouYou gavestgave me no kiss:, but she, since the time I came in, hathhas not ceased to kiss my feet. |
| 7:46 |
MyYou didnt anoint my head with oil, thou didst not anoint: but she hathhas anointed my feet with ointment. |
| 7:47 |
WhereforeTherefore I saytell unto theeyou, Herher sins, which are many, are forgiven;, for she loved much:. butBut one to whom little is forgiven, theloves same loveth little. |
| 7:48 |
AndHe he said untoto her, ThyYour sins are forgiven. |
| 7:49 |
AndThose theywho that sat at meatthe table with him began to say withinto themselves, Who is this thatwho even forgivethforgives sins? |
| 7:50 |
AndHe he said untoto the woman, ThyYour faith hathhas saved thee;you. goGo in peace. |
| 8:1 |
AndSoon it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good tidingsnews of theGods kingdomKingdom. ofWith God,him andwere with him the twelve, |
| 8:2 |
and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary thatwho was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,; |
| 8:3 |
and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herods steward,; and Susanna,; and many others, who ministeredserved unto them offrom their substancepossessions. |
| 8:4 |
AndWhen when a great multitude came together, and theypeople offrom every city resortedwere untocoming to him, he spakespoke by a parable: |
| 8:5 |
The sowerfarmer went forthout to sow his seed:. andAs as he sowed, some fell byalong the wayroad, side; and it was troddentrampled under foot, and the birds of the heavensky devoured it. |
| 8:6 |
AndOther otherseed fell on the rock;, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture. |
| 8:7 |
AndOther other fell amidstamid the thorns;, and the thorns grew with it, and choked it. |
| 8:8 |
AndOther other fell into the good ground, and grew, and broughtproduced forthone fruithundred atimes hundredfoldas much fruit. As he said these things, he criedcalled out, He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear.! |
| 8:9 |
AndThen his disciples asked him, whatWhat does this parable might be.mean? |
| 8:10 |
AndHe he said, UntoTo you it is given to know the mysteries of theGods kingdomKingdom, of God: but to the rest it is given in parables;, that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. |
| 8:12 |
AndThose thosealong by the wayroad side are theythose thatwho have heardhear; then cometh the devil, comes and takethtakes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved. |
| 8:13 |
AndThose those on the rock are they who, when they have heardhear, receive the word with joy; andbut these have no root,. whoThey believe for a while believe, andthen fall away in time of temptation fall away. |
| 8:14 |
AndWhat that which fell among the thorns, these are theythose thatwho have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, and riches, and pleasures of this life,; and they bring no fruit to perfectionmaturity. |
| 8:15 |
AndThose that in the good ground, these are suchthose aswho inwith an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it fasttightly, and bringproduce forth fruit with patienceperseverance. |
| 8:16 |
AndNo no manone, when he hathhas lightedlit a lamp, coverethcovers it with a vessel, container or puttethputs it under a bed; but puttethputs it on a stand, that theythose thatwho enter in may see the light. |
| 8:17 |
For nothing is hid, hidden that shallwill not be maderevealed, manifest; nor anything secret, that shallwill not be known and come to light. |
| 8:18 |
TakeBe heedcareful therefore how yeyou hear:. forFor whosoeverwhoever hathhas, to him shallwill be given; and whosoeverwhoever hathdoesnt nothave, from him shallwill be taken away even that which he thinkeththinks he hathhas. |
| 8:19 |
AndHis theremother and brothers came to him his mother and brethren, and they could not come atnear him for the crowd. |
| 8:20 |
AndSome itpeople was told him, ThyYour mother and thyyour brethrenbrothers stand withoutoutside, desiring to see theeyou. |
| 8:21 |
But he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethrenbrothers are these thatwho hear the word of God, and do it. |
| 8:22 |
Now it came to pass on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples;, and he said untoto them, LetLets us go over untoto the other side of the lake:. andSo they launched forthout. |
| 8:23 |
But as they sailed, he fell asleep:. andA therewind storm came down a storm of wind on the lake;, and they were fillingtaking withon water, dangerous andamounts wereof in jeopardywater. |
| 8:24 |
AndThey they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, masterMaster, we perish.are Anddying! heHe awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water:; andthen they ceased, and thereit was a calm. |
| 8:25 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Where is your faith? AndBeing being afraid, they marvelledmarveled, saying to one to another, Who then is this then, that he commandethcommands even the winds and the water, and they obey him? |
| 8:26 |
AndThen they arrived at the country of the GerasenesGadarenes, which is overopposite against Galilee. |
| 8:27 |
AndWhen whenJesus hestepped was come forth upon the landashore, there met him a certain man out of the city, who had demons; and for a long time hemet hadhim. wornHe wore no clothes, and abodedidnt notlive in anya house, but in the tombs. |
| 8:28 |
AndWhen when he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What havedo I have to do with theeyou, Jesus, thouyou Son of the Most High God? I beseechbeg theeyou, dont torment me not.! |
| 8:29 |
For heJesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out fromof the man. For oftentimesthe itunclean spirit had often seized him:the andman. heHe was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters;. andBreaking breaking the bandsbonds asunderapart, he was driven ofby the demon into the desertsdesert. |
| 8:30 |
And Jesus asked him, What is thyyour name? AndHe he said, Legion;, for many demons werehad entered into him. |
| 8:31 |
AndThey theybegged entreated him that he would not command them to departgo into the abyss. |
| 8:32 |
Now there was there a herd of many swinepigs feeding on the mountain:, and they entreatedbegged him that he would giveallow them leave to enter into themthose. AndThen he gaveallowed them leave. |
| 8:33 |
AndThe the demons came out fromof the man, and entered into the swine:pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned. |
| 8:34 |
AndWhen whenthose theywho that fed them saw what had come to passhappened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country. |
| 8:35 |
AndPeople they went out to see what had comehappened. toThey pass; and they came to Jesus, and found the man, from whom the demons werehad gone out, sitting at Jesus feet, clothed and in his right mind,; at the feet of Jesus: and they were afraid. |
| 8:36 |
AndThose theywho that saw it told them how he thatwho washad been possessed withby demons was made wholehealed. |
| 8:37 |
AndAll all the people of the surrounding country of the GerasenesGadarenes round about asked him to depart from them;, for they were holdenvery withmuch greatafraid. fear:Then and he entered into athe boat, and returned. |
| 8:38 |
But the man from whom the demons werehad gone out prayedbegged him that he might bego with him:, but heJesus sent him away, saying, |
| 8:39 |
Return to thyyour house, and declare howwhat great things God hathhas done for theeyou. AndHe he went his way, publishingproclaiming throughout the whole city howwhat great things Jesus had done for him. |
| 8:40 |
AndWhen as Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him;, for they were all waiting for him. |
| 8:41 |
And beholdBehold, there came a man named Jairus, andcame. heHe was a ruler of the synagogue:. andHe he fell down at Jesus feet, and besoughtbegged him to come into his house;, |
| 8:42 |
for he had an only born daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes throngedpressed against him. |
| 8:43 |
AndA a woman havingwho anhad issuea flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living uponon physicians, and could not be healed ofby any, |
| 8:44 |
came behind him, and touched the borderfringe of his garment:cloak. andImmediately immediately the issueflow of her blood stanchedstopped. |
| 8:45 |
And Jesus said, Who is it that touched me? AndWhen when all denied it, Peter said, and theythose that were with him said, Master, the multitudes press theeand jostle you, and crushyou thee.say, Who touched me? |
| 8:46 |
But Jesus said, SomeSomeone one did touch me;, for I perceived that power hadhas gone forthout fromof me. |
| 8:47 |
AndWhen when the woman saw that she was not hidhidden, she came trembling,; and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people forthe whatreason causewhy she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. |
| 8:48 |
AndHe he said untoto her, Daughter, thycheer up. Your faith hathhas made theeyou whole;well. goGo in peace. |
| 8:49 |
While he yetstill spakespoke, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogues house came, saying to him, ThyYour daughter is dead;. Dont trouble not the Teacher. |
| 8:50 |
But Jesus hearing it, answered him, FearDont not:be onlyafraid. Only believe, and she shallwill be made wholehealed. |
| 8:51 |
AndWhen when he came to the house, he suffereddidnt notallow anyanyone man to enter in with him, saveexcept Peter, and John, and James, and the father of the maidenchild, and her mother. |
| 8:52 |
AndAll all were weeping, and bewailingmourning her:, but he said, WeepDont not;weep. forShe sheisnt is not dead, but sleepethsleeping. |
| 8:53 |
AndThey theywere laughedridiculing him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. |
| 8:54 |
But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, MaidenChild, arise.! |
| 8:55 |
AndHer her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately:. andHe he commanded that something be given to her to eat. |
| 8:56 |
AndHer her parents were amazed:, but he chargedcommanded them to tell no manone what had been done. |
| 9:1 |
AndHe he called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. |
| 9:2 |
AndHe he sent them forthout to preach theGods kingdomKingdom of God, and to heal the sick. |
| 9:3 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Take nothing for your journey,—no neither staffstaffs, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money;. neitherDont have two coatstunics each. |
| 9:4 |
AndInto intowhatever whatsoever house yeyou enter, stay there abide, and thencedepart departfrom there. |
| 9:5 |
AndAs as many as dont receive you not, when yeyou depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them. |
| 9:6 |
AndThey they departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the gospel,Good News and healing everywhere. |
| 9:7 |
Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done: by him; and he was muchvery perplexed, because that it was said by some, that John washad risen from the dead;, |
| 9:8 |
and by some, that Elijah had appeared;, and by others, that one of the old prophets washad risen again. |
| 9:9 |
And Herod said, John I beheaded: John, but who is this, about whom I hear such things? AndHe he sought to see him. |
| 9:10 |
AndThe the apostles, when they werehad returned, declaredtold unto him what things they had done. AndHe he took them, and withdrew apart to a desert region of a city called Bethsaida. |
| 9:11 |
But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed him:. andHe he welcomed them, andspoke spake to them of theGods kingdom of GodKingdom, and themhe thatcured hadthose needwho ofneeded healing he cured. |
| 9:12 |
AndThe the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said untoto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryfarms round about, and lodge, and get provisions:food, for we are here in a desertdeserted place. |
| 9:13 |
But he said untoto them, GiveYou yegive them something to eat. AndThey they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes;fish, exceptunless we should go and buy food for all thisthese people. |
| 9:14 |
For they were about five thousand men. AndHe he said untoto his disciples, Make them sit down in companies, groups of about fifty each. |
| 9:15 |
AndThey they did so, and made them all sit down. |
| 9:16 |
AndHe he took the five loaves and the two fishesfish, and looking up to heaventhe sky, he blessed them, andbroke brake;them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. |
| 9:17 |
AndThey they ate, and were all filled:. andThey theregathered was taken up thattwelve whichbaskets remained over to them of broken pieces, twelvethat basketswere left over. |
| 9:18 |
AndAs it came to pass, as he was praying apartalone, the disciples were withnear him:, and he asked them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am? |
| 9:19 |
AndThey they answering saidanswered, John the Baptist;Baptizer, but others say, Elijah;, and others, that one of the old prophets ishas risen again. |
| 9:20 |
AndHe he said untoto them, But who do you say ye that I am? And Peter answering saidanswered, The Christ of God. |
| 9:21 |
But he chargedwarned them, and commanded them to tell this to no man;one, |
| 9:22 |
saying, The Son of manMan must suffer many things, and be rejected ofby the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up. |
| 9:23 |
AndHe he said untoto all, If anyanyone mandesires wouldto come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. |
| 9:24 |
For whosoeverwhoever woulddesires to save his life shallwill lose it;, but whosoeverwhoever shallwill lose his life for my sake, thewill same shall save it. |
| 9:25 |
For what isdoes it profit a man profited, if he gaingains the whole world, and loseloses or forfeitforfeits his own self? |
| 9:26 |
For whosoeverwhoever shallwill be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shallwill the Son of manMan be ashamed, when he comethcomes in his own glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels. |
| 9:27 |
But I tell you ofthe a truth,: There are some of themthose thatwho stand here, who shallwill in no wiseway taste of death, tilluntil they see theGods kingdom of GodKingdom. |
| 9:28 |
AndAbout it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter, and John, and James, and went up intoonto the mountain to pray. |
| 9:29 |
AndAs as he was praying, the fashionappearance of his countenanceface was altered, and his raimentclothing became white and dazzling. |
| 9:30 |
And beholdBehold, theretwo talkedmen were talking with him two men, who were Moses and Elijah;, |
| 9:31 |
who appeared in glory, and spakespoke of his deceasedeparture, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. |
| 9:32 |
Now Peter and theythose thatwho were with him were heavy with sleep:, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men thatwho stood with him. |
| 9:33 |
AndAs it came to pass, as they were parting from him, Peter said untoto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here:. andLets let us make three tabernacles;tents: one for theeyou, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah:, not knowing what he said. |
| 9:34 |
AndWhile while he said these things, there came a cloud, came and overshadowed them:, and they fearedwere afraid as they entered into the cloud. |
| 9:35 |
AndA a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son,. myListen chosen:to hear ye him.! |
| 9:36 |
AndWhen when the voice came, Jesus was found alone. AndThey theywere held their peacesilent, and told no manone in those days any of the things which they had seen. |
| 9:37 |
AndOn it came to pass, on the next day, when they werehad come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. |
| 9:38 |
And beholdBehold, a man from the multitudecrowd criedcalled out, saying, Teacher, I beseechbeg theeyou to look uponat my son;, for he is minemy only born child:. |
| 9:39 |
and beholdBehold, a spirit takethtakes him, and he suddenly criethcries out;, and it tearethconvulses him so that he foameth, foams; and it hardly departethdeparts from him, bruising him sorelyseverely. |
| 9:40 |
And I besoughtbegged thyyour disciples to cast it out;, and they could notcouldnt. |
| 9:41 |
And Jesus answered and said, OFaithless faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? bringBring hitheryour thyson sonhere. |
| 9:42 |
AndWhile as he was yetstill a coming, the demon dashedthrew him down, and tareconvulsed him grievouslyviolently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. |
| 9:43 |
AndThey they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marvellingmarveling at all the things which heJesus did, he said untoto his disciples, |
| 9:44 |
Let these words sink into your ears:, for the Son of manMan shallwill be delivered up into the hands of men. |
| 9:45 |
But they understooddidnt notunderstand this saying,. andIt it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it;, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. |
| 9:46 |
AndAn thereargument arose a reasoning among them, about which of them was the greatest. |
| 9:47 |
But when Jesus, sawperceiving the reasoning of their hearthearts, he took a little child, and set him by his side, |
| 9:48 |
and said untoto them, WhosoeverWhoever shallreceives receive this little child in my name receivethreceives me:. andWhoever whosoeverreceives shall receive me receivethreceives him thatwho sent me:. forFor hewhoever that is least among you all, thethis sameone iswill be great. |
| 9:49 |
And John answered and said, Master, we saw onesomeone casting out demons in thyyour name;, and we forbade him, because he followethdoesnt notfollow with us. |
| 9:50 |
But Jesus said untoto him, ForbidDont forbid him, not: for he thatwho is not against youus is for youus. |
| 9:51 |
AndIt it came to pass, when the days were wellnear nigh come that he should be receivedtaken up, he stedfastlyintently set his face to go to Jerusalem, |
| 9:52 |
and sent messengers before his face:. andThey they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to makeprepare ready for him. |
| 9:53 |
AndThey theydidnt did not receive him, because hishe face was astraveling thoughwith hehis wereface goingset totoward Jerusalem. |
| 9:54 |
AndWhen when his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, Lord, wiltdo thouyou thatwant weus bidto command fire to come down from heaven, the sky and consumedestroy them, just as Elijah did? |
| 9:55 |
But he turned, and rebuked them, You dont know of what kind of spirit you are. |
| 9:56 |
AndFor theythe Son of Man didnt come to destroy mens lives, but to save them. They went to another village. |
| 9:57 |
AndAs as they went on the way, a certain man said untoto him, I willwant to follow theeyou whithersoeverwherever thouyou goestgo, Lord. |
| 9:58 |
And Jesus said untoto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heavensky have nests;, but the Son of manMan hathhas notno whereplace to lay his head. |
| 9:59 |
AndHe he said untoto another, Follow me.! But he said, Lord, sufferallow me first to go and bury my father. |
| 9:60 |
But heJesus said untoto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead;, but you go thou and publishannounce abroadGods the kingdom of GodKingdom. |
| 9:61 |
AndAnother another also said, I willwant to follow theeyou, Lord;, but first sufferallow me to bidsay farewellgood bye to themthose thatwho are at my house. |
| 9:62 |
But Jesus said untoto him, No manone, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for theGods kingdom of GodKingdom. |
| 10:1 |
Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two andby two beforeahead hisof facehim into every city and place, whitherwhere he himself was about to come. |
| 10:2 |
AndThen he said untoto them, The harvest is indeed is plenteousplentiful, but the laborers are few:. prayPray ye therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send forthout laborers into his harvest. |
| 10:3 |
Go your ways;. beholdBehold, I send you forthout as lambs inamong the midst of wolves. |
| 10:4 |
Carry no purse, nonor wallet, nonor shoes;sandals. andGreet salute no manone on the way. |
| 10:5 |
AndInto intowhatever whatsoever house yeyou shall enter, first say, Peace be to this house. |
| 10:6 |
AndIf if a son of peace beis there, your peace shallwill rest uponon him:; but if not, it shallwill turnreturn to you again. |
| 10:7 |
AndRemain in that same house remain, eating and drinking suchthe things as they give:, for the laborer is worthy of his hirewages. GoDont notgo from house to house. |
| 10:8 |
AndInto intowhatever whatsoever city yeyou enter, and they receive you, eat suchthe things asthat are set before you:. |
| 10:9 |
andHeal heal the sick thatwho are therein, there and saytell unto them, TheGods kingdomKingdom ofhas God is come nighnear untoto you. |
| 10:10 |
But into whatsoeverwhatever city yeyou shall enter, and they dont receive you not, go out into theits streets thereof and say, |
| 10:11 |
Even the dust from your city, that cleavethclings to our feetus, we wipe off against you:. neverthelessNevertheless know this, that theGods kingdomKingdom ofhas Godcome isnear cometo nighyou. |
| 10:12 |
I saytell unto you, Itit shallwill be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. |
| 10:13 |
Woe untoto theeyou, Chorazin! woeWoe untoto theeyou, Bethsaida! forFor if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. |
| 10:14 |
But it shallwill be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you. |
| 10:15 |
And thouYou, Capernaum, shaltwho thouare be exalted untoto heaven?, thouwill shalt be brought down untoto Hades. |
| 10:16 |
HeWhoever thatlistens hearethto you hearethlistens to me;, and hewhoever thatrejects rejecteth you rejectethrejects me;. andWhoever herejects that rejecteth me rejectethrejects him thatwho sent me. |
| 10:17 |
AndThe the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject untoto us in thyyour name.! |
| 10:18 |
AndHe he said untoto them, I beheldsaw Satan having fallen aslike lightning from heaven. |
| 10:19 |
Behold, I havegive given you authority to tread uponon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:. andNothing nothingwill shall in any wiseway hurt you. |
| 10:20 |
Nevertheless, dont rejoice in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject untoto you;, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. |
| 10:21 |
In that same hour, heJesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank theeyou, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thouyou didsthave hidehidden these things from the wise and understanding, and didstrevealed reveal them untoto babes:little yeachildren. Yes, Father;, for so it was well pleasing in thyyour sight. |
| 10:22 |
Turning to the disciples, he said, All things have been delivered untoto me ofby my Father:. andNo no one knowethknows who the Son is, saveexcept the Father;, and who the Father is, saveexcept the Son, and he to whomsoeverwhomever the Son willethdesires to reveal him. |
| 10:23 |
AndTurning turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that yeyou see:, |
| 10:24 |
for I saytell unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which yeyou see, and sawdidnt see them, not; and to hear the things which yeyou hear, and hearddidnt hear them not. |
| 10:25 |
And beholdBehold, a certain lawyer stood up and madetested trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? |
| 10:26 |
AndHe he said untoto him, What is written in the law? howHow readestdo thouyou read it? |
| 10:27 |
AndHe he answering saidanswered, ThouYou shaltshall love the Lord thyyour God with all thyyour heart, and with all thyyour soul, and with all thyyour strength, and with all thyyour mind; and thyyour neighbor as thyselfyourself. |
| 10:28 |
AndHe he said untoto him, ThouYou hasthave answered right:correctly. Do this do, and thouyou shaltwill live. |
| 10:29 |
But he, desiring to justify himself, saidasked unto Jesus, AndWho who is my neighbor? |
| 10:30 |
Jesus made answer and saidanswered, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho;, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. |
| 10:31 |
AndBy by chance a certain priest was going down that way:. andWhen when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. |
| 10:32 |
AndIn inthe likesame mannerway a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. |
| 10:33 |
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyedtraveled, came where he was:. andWhen when he saw him, he was moved with compassion, |
| 10:34 |
and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine;. andHe he set him on his own beastanimal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. |
| 10:35 |
AndOn on the morrownext day, when he departed, he took out two shillingsdenarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, Take care of him;. andWhatever whatsoeveryou thouspend spendestbeyond morethat, I, whenwill Irepay comeyou backwhen again,I will repay theereturn. |
| 10:36 |
WhichNow which of these three, thinkestdo thou, you provedthink seemed to be a neighbor untoto him thatwho fell among the robbers? |
| 10:37 |
AndHe he said, He thatwho showed mercy on him. AndThen Jesus said untoto him, Go, and do thou likewise. |
| 10:38 |
NowAs as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village:, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. |
| 10:39 |
AndShe she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at theJesus Lords feet, and heard his word. |
| 10:40 |
But Martha was cumbereddistracted aboutwith much serving;, and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dostdont thouyou not care that my sister didleft leave me to serve alone? bidAsk her therefore thatto she help me. |
| 10:41 |
ButJesus the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thouyou artare anxious and troubled about many things:, |
| 10:42 |
but one thing is needful:needed. for Mary hathhas chosen the good part, which shallwill not be taken away from her. |
| 11:1 |
AndWhen it came to pass, as he wasfinished praying in a certain place, that when he ceased, one of his disciples said untoto him, Lord, teach us to pray, evenjust as John also taught his disciples. |
| 11:2 |
AndHe he said untoto them, When yeyou pray, say, Our Father in heaven, Hallowedmay your name be thykept nameholy. ThyMay kingdomyour Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. |
| 11:4 |
AndForgive forgive us our sins;, for we ourselves also forgive everyeveryone onewho that is indebted to us. AndBring bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. |
| 11:5 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Which of you shall have a friend, andif shallyou go untoto hima friend at midnight, and saytell to him, Friend, lend me three loaves; of bread, |
| 11:6 |
for a friend of mine ishas come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him;, |
| 11:7 |
and he from within shallwill answer and say, TroubleDont bother me. not:The the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed;. I cannotcant riseget up and give theeit to you? |
| 11:8 |
I saytell unto you, Thoughalthough he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunitypersistence, he will ariseget up and give him as many as he needethneeds. |
| 11:9 |
And I saytell unto you, Askkeep asking, and it shallwill be given you;. seekKeep seeking, and yeyou shallwill find;. knockKeep knocking, and it shallwill be opened untoto you. |
| 11:10 |
For everyeveryone onewho thatasks askethreceives. receiveth; He andwho heseeks thatfinds. seekethTo findeth; and to him thatwho knockethknocks it shallwill be opened. |
| 11:11 |
AndWhich of which of you thatfathers, isif ayour father shall his son askasks afor loafbread, andwill he give him a stone? orOr aif fish,he andasks he for a fish, he wont give him a serpentsnake instead of a fish, will he? |
| 11:12 |
Or if he shallasks askfor an egg, will he wont give him a scorpion, will he? |
| 11:13 |
If yeyou then, being evil, know how to give good gifts untoto your children, how much more shallwill your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to themthose thatwho ask him? |
| 11:14 |
AndHe he was casting out a demon, thatand it was dumbmute. AndWhen it came to pass, when the demon washad gone out, the dumbmute man spakespoke; and the multitudes marvelledmarveled. |
| 11:15 |
But some of them said, ByHe Beelzebubcasts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons casteth he out demons. |
| 11:16 |
And othersOthers, tryingtesting him, sought offrom him a sign from heaven. |
| 11:17 |
But he, knowing their thoughts, said untoto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation;. andA a house divided against aitself house fallethfalls. |
| 11:18 |
AndIf if Satan also is divided against himself, how shallwill his kingdom stand? becauseFor yeyou say that I cast out demons by BeelzebubBeelzebul. |
| 11:19 |
AndBut if I by Beelzebub cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sonschildren cast them out? thereforeTherefore shall they will be your judges. |
| 11:20 |
But if I by theGods finger of God cast out demons, then isGods theKingdom kingdomhas of God come uponto you. |
| 11:21 |
When the strong man, fully armed, guardethguards his own courtdwelling, his goods are in peace:safe. |
| 11:22 |
butBut when asomeone stronger thanattacks he shall come upon him, and overcomeovercomes him, he takethtakes from him his whole armor whereinin which he trusted, and dividethdivides his spoilsplunder. |
| 11:23 |
He thatwho is not with me is against me;. andHe hewho thatdoesnt gatherethgather not with me scatterethscatters. |
| 11:24 |
The unclean spirit, when he ishas gone out of the man, passethpasses through waterlessdry places, seeking rest,; and finding none, he saithsays, I will turn back untoto my house whencefrom which I came out. |
| 11:25 |
AndWhen when he is comereturns, he findethfinds it swept and garnishedput in order. |
| 11:26 |
Then goeth he, goes and takethtakes to him seven other spirits more evil than himself;, and they enter in and dwell there:. andThe the last state of that man becomethbecomes worse than the first. |
| 11:27 |
AndIt it came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice, and said untoto him, Blessed is the womb that barebore theeyou, and the breasts which thounursed didst suck.you! |
| 11:28 |
But he said, YeaOn ratherthe contrary, blessed are theythose thatwho hear the word of God, and keep it. |
| 11:29 |
AndWhen when the multitudes were gathering together untoto him, he began to say, This generation is an evil generation:. itIt seekethseeks after a sign;. andNo theresign shallwill no sign be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet. |
| 11:30 |
For even as Jonah became a sign untoto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of manMan will also be to this generation. |
| 11:31 |
The queenQueen of the southSouth shallwill rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and shallwill condemn them:, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, aone greater than Solomon is here. |
| 11:32 |
The men of Nineveh shallwill stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shallwill condemn it:, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, aone greater than Jonah is here. |
| 11:33 |
No manone, when he hathhas lightedlit a lamp, puttethputs it in a cellar, neitheror under thea bushelbasket, but on thea stand, that theythose whichwho entercome in may see the light. |
| 11:34 |
The lamp of thythe body is thinethe eye:. Therefore when thineyour eye is singlegood, thyyour whole body is also is full of light; but when it is evil, thyyour body also is full of darkness. |
| 11:35 |
LookTherefore thereforesee whether the light that is in theeyou beisnt not darkness. |
| 11:36 |
If therefore thyyour whole body beis full of light, having no part dark, it shallwill be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining dothgives giveyou thee light. |
| 11:37 |
Now as he spakespoke, a certain Pharisee askethasked him to dine with him:. andHe he went in, and sat downat tothe meattable. |
| 11:38 |
AndWhen when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelledmarveled that he had not first bathedwashed himself before dinner. |
| 11:39 |
AndThe the Lord said untoto him, Now yeyou the Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter;, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness. |
| 11:40 |
YeYou foolish ones, diddidnt not he thatwho made the outside make the inside also? |
| 11:41 |
But give for almsgifts to the needy those things which are within;, and behold, all things arewill be clean untoto you. |
| 11:42 |
But woe untoto you Pharisees! forFor yeyou tithe mint and rue and every herb, andbut passyou overbypass justice and theGods love. ofYou God: but these ought ye to have done these, and not to leavehave left the other undone. |
| 11:43 |
Woe untoto you Pharisees! forFor yeyou love the chiefbest seats in the synagogues, and the salutationsgreetings in the marketplaces. |
| 11:44 |
Woe untoto you!, forscribes yeand arePharisees, ashypocrites! theFor tombsyou whichare appearlike nothidden graves, and the men thatwho walk over them dont know it not. |
| 11:45 |
AndOne one of the lawyers answeringanswered saith unto him, Teacher, in saying this thouyou reproachestinsult us also. |
| 11:46 |
AndHe he said, Woe untoto you lawyers also! forFor yeyou load men with burdens grievousthat are difficult to be bornecarry, and yeyou yourselves touchwont noteven thelift burdensone withfinger oneto ofhelp yourcarry fingersthose burdens. |
| 11:47 |
Woe untoto you! forFor yeyou build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. |
| 11:48 |
So yeyou aretestify witnesses and consent untoto the works of your fathers:. forFor they killed them, and yeyou build their tombs. |
| 11:49 |
Therefore also said the wisdom of God said, I will send untoto them prophets and apostles; and some of them they shallwill kill and persecute;, |
| 11:50 |
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;, |
| 11:51 |
from the blood of Abel untoto the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary:. yeaYes, I saytell unto you, it shallwill be required of this generation. |
| 11:52 |
Woe untoto you lawyers! forFor yeyou took away the key of knowledge:. yeYou entereddidnt notenter in yourselves, and themthose thatwho were entering in, yeyou hindered. |
| 11:53 |
AndAs when he wassaid comethese outthings fromto thencethem, the scribes and the Pharisees began to pressbe uponterribly him vehementlyangry, and to provokedraw himmany tothings speakout of many things;him, |
| 11:54 |
layinglying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something outhe ofmight hissay, mouththat they might accuse him. |
| 12:1 |
In the mean timeMeanwhile, when thea manymultitude thousands of themany multitudethousands werehad gathered together, insomuchso much so that they trodtrampled oneon uponeach anotherother, he began to saytell unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leavenyeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. |
| 12:2 |
But there is nothing covered up, that shallwill not be revealed;, andnor hid, hidden that shallwill not be known. |
| 12:3 |
WhereforeTherefore whatsoeverwhatever yeyou have said in the darkness shallwill be heard in the light;. andWhat whatyou ye have spoken in the ear in the inner chambersrooms shallwill be proclaimed uponon the housetops. |
| 12:4 |
And I saytell unto you, my friends, Bedont notbe afraid of themthose thatwho kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. |
| 12:5 |
But I will warn you whom yeyou shallshould fear:. Fear him, who after he hathhas killed, hathhas power to cast into hell;Gehenna. yeaYes, I saytell unto you, Fearfear him. |
| 12:6 |
AreArent not five sparrows sold for two penceassaria coins ? andNot not one of them is forgotten inby the sight of God. |
| 12:7 |
But the very hairs of your head are all numberedcounted. FearTherefore not:dont yebe afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows. |
| 12:8 |
And I saytell unto you, Everyeveryone one who shallconfesses confess me before men, him shall the Son of manMan will also confess before the angels of God:; |
| 12:9 |
but he thatwho deniethdenies me in the presence of men shallwill be denied in the presence of theGods angels of God. |
| 12:10 |
AndEveryone every one who shallspeaks speak a word against the Son of man,Man itwill shall be forgiven, him: but untothose himwho thatblaspheme blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit itwill shall not be forgiven. |
| 12:11 |
AndWhen when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, dont be not anxious how or what yeyou shallwill answer, or what yeyou shallwill say:; |
| 12:12 |
for the Holy Spirit shallwill teach you in that verysame hour what yeyou oughtmust to say. |
| 12:13 |
AndOne one out of the multitude said untoto him, Teacher, bidtell my brother to divide the inheritance with me. |
| 12:14 |
But he said untoto him, Man, who made me a judge or aan dividerarbitrator over you? |
| 12:15 |
AndHe he said untoto them, TakeBeware! heed,Keep and keep yourselves from all covetousness:, for a mans life consistethdoesnt notconsist inof the abundance of the things which he possessethpossesses. |
| 12:16 |
AndHe hespoke spake a parable untoto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man broughtproduced forth plentifully:abundantly. |
| 12:17 |
andHe he reasoned within himself, saying, What shallwill I do, because I dont have notroom where to bestowstore my fruitscrops? |
| 12:18 |
AndHe he said, This willis what I will do:. I will pull down my barns, and build greater;bigger ones, and there I will Istore bestow all my grain and my goods. |
| 12:19 |
And I will saytell to my soul, Soul, thouyou hasthave muchmany goods laid up for many years;. takeTake thineyour ease, eat, drink, and be merry. |
| 12:20 |
But God said untoto him, ThouYou foolish one, thistonight nightyour soul is thy soul required of thee;you. andThe the things which thouyou hasthave prepared, —whose shallwill they be? |
| 12:21 |
So is he thatwho layethlays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. |
| 12:22 |
AndHe he said untoto his disciples, Therefore I saytell unto you, Bedont notbe anxious for your life, what yeyou shallwill eat;, nor yet for your body, what yeyou shallwill put onwear. |
| 12:23 |
ForLife the life is more than the food, and the body is more than the raimentclothing. |
| 12:24 |
Consider the ravens,: that they dont sow not, neitherthey dont reap;, whichthey have no storewarehouse chamberor nor barn;, and God feedethfeeds them:. ofHow how much more valuevaluable are yeyou than the birds! |
| 12:25 |
AndWhich which of you by being anxious can add a cubit untoto the measure of his lifeheight? |
| 12:26 |
If then yeyou arearent not able to do even thatthe whichleast is leastthings, why are yeyou anxious concerningabout the rest? |
| 12:27 |
Consider the lilies, how they grow:. theyThey dont toil not, neither do they spin; yet I saytell unto you, Eveneven Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. |
| 12:28 |
But if Godthis dothis sohow clotheGod clothes the grass in the field, which totoday dayexists is, and totomorrow morrow is cast into the oven;, how much more shallwill he clothe you, O yeyou of little faith? |
| 12:29 |
AndDont seek not ye what yeyou shallwill eat, andor what yeyou shallwill drink,; neither be ye of doubtful mindanxious. |
| 12:30 |
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: all of these things, but your Father knowethknows that yeyou have need of these things. |
| 12:31 |
YetBut seek yeGods his kingdomKingdom, and all these things shallwill be added untoto you. |
| 12:32 |
FearDont notbe afraid, little flock;, for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdomKingdom. |
| 12:33 |
Sell thatwhat whichyou ye have, and give alms;gifts maketo the needy. Make for yourselves purses which waxdont notgrow old, a treasure in the heavens that failethdoesnt notfail, where no thief drawethapproaches near, and neitherno moth destroyethdestroys. |
| 12:35 |
Let your loinswaist be girdeddressed about, and your lamps burning;. |
| 12:36 |
andBe be ye yourselves like unto men lookingwatching for their Lord, when he shallreturns return from the marriagewedding feast;, that, when he comethcomes and knockethknocks, they may straightwayimmediately open untoto him. |
| 12:37 |
Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord will find watching when he comethcomes. shallMost findcertainly watching: verily I saytell unto you, that he shallwill girddress himself, and make them sit down to meatrecline, and shallwill come and serve them. |
| 12:38 |
AndThey will be blessed if he shallcomes come in the second watch,or andthird ifwatch in the third, and findfinds them so, blessed are those servants. |
| 12:39 |
But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not haveallowed left his house to be broken throughinto. |
| 12:40 |
BeTherefore yebe ready also, ready: for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that yeyou thinkdont notexpect the Son of man comethhim. |
| 12:41 |
And Peter said to him, Lord, speakestare thouyou telling this parable untoto us, or evento unto alleverybody? |
| 12:42 |
AndThe the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his Lord shallwill set over his household, to give them their portion of food inat duethe seasonright times? |
| 12:43 |
Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord whenwill hefind comethdoing shallso findwhen sohe doingcomes. |
| 12:44 |
OfTruly a truth I saytell unto you, that he will set him over all that he hathhas. |
| 12:45 |
But if that servant shallsays say in his heart, My Lord delayethdelays his coming;, and shallbegins begin to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;, |
| 12:46 |
then the Lord of that servant shallwill come in a day when he expectethisnt not, expecting him and in an hour whenthat he knowethdoesnt notknow, and shallwill cut him asunderin two, and appointplace his portion with the unfaithful. |
| 12:47 |
AndThat that servant, who knew his Lords will, and madedidnt notprepare ready, nor diddo accordingwhat tohe hiswanted, will, shall be beaten with many stripes;, |
| 12:48 |
but he thatwho knewdidnt notknow, and did things worthy of stripes, shallwill be beaten with few stripes. AndTo towhomever whomsoever much is given, of him shallwill much be required:; and to whom theymuch commitwas muchentrusted, of him more will theybe ask the moreasked. |
| 12:49 |
I came to castthrow fire uponon the earth;. and what do I desire, wish if it iswere already kindled?. |
| 12:50 |
But I have a baptism to be baptized with;, and how amdistressed I straitenedam tilluntil it beis accomplished! |
| 12:51 |
ThinkDo yeyou think that I amhave come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay;no, but rather division:. |
| 12:52 |
forFor from now on, there shallwill be from henceforth five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. |
| 12:53 |
They shallwill be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law. |
| 12:54 |
AndHe he said to the multitudes also, When yeyou see a cloud rising infrom the west, straightwayimmediately yeyou say, ThereA comethshower ais shower;coming, and so it cometh to passhappens. |
| 12:55 |
AndWhen when ye see a south wind blowingblows, yeyou say, There will be a scorching heat;, and it cometh to passhappens. |
| 12:56 |
YeYou hypocrites,! yeYou know how to interpret the faceappearance of the earth and the heaven;sky, but how is it that yeyou knowdont not how to interpret this time? |
| 12:57 |
AndWhy whydont evenyou of yourselves judge yefor notyourselves what is right? |
| 12:58 |
For aswhen thouyou artare going with thineyour adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way give diligence to be quitreleased offrom him;, lest haplyperhaps he drag theeyou untoto the judge, and the judge shall deliver theeyou to the officer, and the officer shallthrow castyou thee into prison. |
| 12:59 |
I saytell unto theeyou, Thouyou shaltwill by no means comeget out thence,of tillthere thouuntil you have paid the very last mitepenny. |
| 13:1 |

AndAs as he said these things, all his adversaries were putdisappointed; to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. |
| 13:18 |
He said therefore, UntoWhat what is theGods kingdomKingdom of God like? andTo whereuntowhat shall I likencompare it? |
| 13:19 |
It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and castput intoin his own garden;. andIt it grew, and became a large tree;, and the birds of the heavensky lodgedlive in theits branches thereof. |
| 13:20 |
AndAgain again he said, WhereuntoTo what shall I likencompare theGods kingdom of GodKingdom? |

| 13:32 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Go and saytell to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures totoday day and to morrowtomorrow, and the third day I amcomplete perfectedmy mission. |
| 13:33 |

| 14:1 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a sabbathSabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him. |

| 14:8 |
When thouyou artare biddeninvited ofby anyanyone man to a marriagewedding feast, dont sit not down in the chiefbest seat;, lestsince haplyperhaps asomeone more honorable man than thouyou might be biddeninvited ofby him, |
| 14:9 |
and he thatwho badeinvited theeboth andof himyou shallwould come and saytell to theeyou, GiveMake thisroom manfor place;this andperson. thenThen thouyou shaltwould begin, with shame, to take the lowest place. |
| 14:10 |
But when thouyou artare biddeninvited, go and sit down in the lowest place;, so that when he thatwho hathinvited biddenyou thee comethcomes, he may saytell to theeyou, Friend, gomove up higher:. thenThen shaltyou thouwill havebe gloryhonored in the presence of all thatwho sit at meatthe table with theeyou. |
| 14:11 |
For everyeveryone onewho thatexalts exalteth himself shallwill be humbled;, and hewhoever thathumbles humbleth himself shallwill be exalted. |
| 14:12 |
AndHe healso said to himthe alsoone thatwho had biddeninvited him, When thouyou makestmake a dinner or a supper, dont call notyour thy friends, nor thyyour brethrenbrothers, nor thyyour kinsmen, nor rich neighbors;, lestor haplyperhaps they might also bidreturn theethe againfavor, and apay recompenseyou be made theeback. |
| 14:13 |
But when thouyou makestmake a feast, bidask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind:; |
| 14:14 |
and thouyou shaltwill be blessed;, because they dont have notthe wherewithresources to recompenserepay thee:you. forFor thouyou shaltwill be recompensedrepaid in the resurrection of the justrighteous. |
| 14:15 |
AndWhen when one of themthose thatwho sat at meatthe table with him heard these things, he said untoto him, Blessed is he thatwho shallwill eatfeast bread in theGods kingdom of God.Kingdom! |
| 14:16 |
But he said untoto him, A certain man made a great supper;, and he badeinvited many: people. |
| 14:17 |
andHe he sent forthout his servant at supper time to saytell tothose themwho that were biddeninvited, Come;, for alleverything thingsis areready now ready. |
| 14:18 |
AndThey they all withas one consent began to make excuseexcuses. The first said untoto him, I have bought a field, and I must needs go out and see it;. IPlease pray thee have me excused. |
| 14:19 |
AndAnother another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go totry prove them; Iout. prayPlease thee have me excused. |
| 14:20 |
AndAnother another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannotcant come. |
| 14:21 |
AndThat the servant came, and told his Lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and maimed, and blind, and lame. |
| 14:22 |
AndThe the servant said, Lord, whatit thouis didstdone commandas isyou donecommanded, and yet there is still room. |
| 14:23 |
AndThe the Lord said untoto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and constraincompel them to come in, that my house may be filled. |
| 14:24 |
For I saytell unto you, that none of those men thatwho were biddeninvited shallwill taste of my supper. For many are called, but few are chosen. |
| 14:25 |
Now theregreat wentmultitudes were going with him. greatHe multitudes: and he turned, and said untoto them, |
| 14:26 |
If anyanyone mancomes comethto unto me, and hatethdoesnt notdisregard his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethrenbrothers, and sisters, yeayes, and his own life also, he cannotcant be my disciple. |
| 14:27 |
WhosoeverWhoever dothdoesnt not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannotcant be my disciple. |
| 14:28 |
For which of you, desiring to build a tower, dothdoesnt not first sit down and count the cost, whetherto see if he havehas wherewithenough to complete it? |
| 14:29 |
LestOr haplyperhaps, when he hathhas laid a foundation, and isisnt not able to finish, alleveryone thatwho beholdsees beginbegins to mock him, |
| 14:30 |
saying, This man began to build, and waswasnt not able to finish. |
| 14:31 |
Or what king, as he goethgoes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and takeconsider counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him thatwho comethcomes against him with twenty thousand? |
| 14:32 |
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendethsends an ambassage, envoy and askethasks for conditions of peace. |
| 14:33 |
So therefore, whosoeverwhoever he be of you thatwho renouncethdoesnt notrenounce all that he hathhas, he cannotcant be my disciple. |
| 14:34 |
Salt therefore is good:, but if even the salt havebecomes lostflat itsand savortasteless, wherewithwith shallwhat itdo beyou seasonedseason it? |
| 14:35 |
It is fit neither for the landsoil nor for the dunghill:manure menpile. castIt itis thrown out. He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear. |
| 15:1 |
Now all the publicanstax collectors and sinners were drawingcoming nearclose untoto him to hear him. |
| 15:2 |
AndThe both the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receivethwelcomes sinners, and eatetheats with them. |
| 15:3 |
AndHe hetold spake unto them this parable, saying,: |
| 15:4 |
WhatWhich man of you men, havingif ayou had one hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, dothwouldnt not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that whichwas is lost, until he findfound it? |
| 15:5 |
AndWhen when he hathhas found it, he layethcarries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. |
| 15:6 |
AndWhen when he comethcomes home, he callethcalls together his friends and his neighbors, saying untoto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.! |
| 15:7 |
I saytell unto you, that even so there shallwill be more joy in heaven over one sinner thatwho repentethrepents, more than over ninety and nine righteous persons, people who need no repentance. |
| 15:8 |
Or what woman, havingif she had ten piecesdrachma of silvercoins, if she loselost one piecedrachma coin, dothwouldnt not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek diligently until she findfound it? |
| 15:9 |
AndWhen when she hathhas found it, she callethcalls together her friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the piecedrachma which I had lost.! |
| 15:10 |
Even so, I saytell unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repentethrepenting. |
| 15:11 |
AndHe he said, A certain man had two sons:. |
| 15:12 |
andThe the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me themy portionshare of thyyour substance that falleth to meproperty. AndSo he divided untohis themlivelihood hisbetween livingthem. |
| 15:13 |
AndNot not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and tooktraveled his journey into a far country;. andThere there he wasted his substanceproperty with riotous living. |
| 15:14 |
AndWhen when he had spent all of it, there arose a mightysevere famine in that country;, and he began to be in wantneed. |
| 15:15 |
AndHe he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country;, and he sent him into his fields to feed swinepigs. |
| 15:16 |
AndHe hewanted wouldto fainfill have filled his belly with the huskspods that the swinepigs didate, eat:but and no manone gave untohim himany. |
| 15:17 |
But when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and IIm perishdying here with hunger! |
| 15:18 |
I will ariseget up and go to my father, and will saytell unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thyyour sight:. |
| 15:19 |
I am no more worthy to be called thyyour son:. makeMake me as one of thyyour hired servants. |
| 15:20 |
AndHe he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yetstill afarfar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. |
| 15:21 |
AndThe the son said untoto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thyyour sight:. I am no morelonger worthy to be called thyyour son. |
| 15:22 |
But the father said to his servants, Bring forthout quickly the best robe, and put it on him;. andPut put a ring on his hand, and shoessandals on his feet:. |
| 15:23 |
andBring bring the fattedfattened calf, and kill it, and letlets us eat, and make merry:celebrate; |
| 15:24 |
for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again;. heHe was lost, and is found. AndThen they began to be merrycelebrate. |
| 15:25 |
Now his elder son was in the field:. andAs as he came andnear drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. |
| 15:26 |
AndHe he called to him one of the servants, to him and inquiredasked what thesewas thingsgoing might beon. |
| 15:27 |
AndHe he said untoto him, ThyYour brother ishas come;, and thyyour father hathhas killed the fattedfattened calf, because he hathhas received him back safe and soundhealthy. |
| 15:28 |
But he was angry, and would not go in:. andTherefore his father came out, and entreatedbegged him. |
| 15:29 |
But he answered and said to his father, LoBehold, these many years do I servehave theeserved you, and I never transgresseddisobeyed a commandment of thine;yours, andbut yetyou thou never gavestgave me a kidgoat, that I might makecelebrate merry with my friends:. |
| 15:30 |
butBut when this thyyour son came, who hathhas devoured thyyour living with harlotsprostitutes, thouyou killedstkilled forthe himfattened thecalf fattedfor calfhim. |
| 15:31 |
AndHe he said untoto him, Son, thouyou artare everalways with me, and all that is mine is thineyours. |
| 15:32 |
But it was meetappropriate to makecelebrate merry and be glad:, for this, thyyour brother, was dead, and is alive again;. andHe was lost, and is found. |
| 16:1 |
AndHe healso said alsoto untohis the disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward;manager. andAn theaccusation same was accusedmade untoto him that hethis man was wasting his goodspossessions. |
| 16:2 |
AndHe he called him, and said untoto him, What is this that I hear ofabout theeyou? renderGive thean accountaccounting of thyyour stewardship;management, for thouyou canstcan be no longer stewardbe manager. |
| 16:3 |
AndThe themanager steward said within himself, What shallwill I do, seeing that my Lord takethis taking away the stewardshipmanagement position from me? I dont have not strength to dig;. to beg I am ashamed to beg. |
| 16:4 |
I amknow resolved what toI will do, so that, when I am putremoved outfrom of the stewardshipmanagement, they may receive me into their houses. |
| 16:5 |
AndCalling calling to him each one of his Lords debtors to him, he said to the first, How much owestdo thouyou untoowe to my Lord? |
| 16:6 |
AndHe he said, A hundred measuresbatos of oil. AndHe he said untoto him, Take thyyour bondbill, and sit down quickly and write fifty. |
| 16:7 |
Then he said he to another, AndHow how much owestdo thouyou owe? AndHe he said, A hundred measurescors of wheat. He saithsaid untoto him, Take thyyour bondbill, and write fourscoreeighty. |
| 16:8 |
AndHis his Lord commended the unrighteousdishonest stewardmanager because he had done wisely:, for the sonschildren of this world are, forin their own generation, wiser than the sonschildren of the light. |
| 16:9 |
And I saytell unto you, Makemake tofor yourselves friends by means of theunrighteous mammon, ofso unrighteousness; that, when ityou shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernaclestents. |
| 16:10 |
He thatwho is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much:. andHe hewho that is unrighteousdishonest in a very little is unrighteous also dishonest in much. |
| 16:11 |
If therefore yeyou have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? |
| 16:12 |
AndIf ifyou ye have not been faithful in that which is anothers, who will give you that which is your own? |
| 16:13 |
No servant can serve two masters:, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. YeYou cannotarent able to serve God and mammonMammon. |
| 16:14 |
AndThe the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things;, and they scoffed at him. |
| 16:15 |
AndHe he said untoto them, YeYou are theythose thatwho justify yourselves in the sight of men;, but God knowethknows your hearts:. forFor that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God. |
| 16:16 |
The law and the prophets were until John:. fromFrom that time the gospelGood News of theGods kingdomKingdom of God is preached, and everyeveryone manis enterethforcing violentlyhis way into it. |
| 16:17 |
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tittletiny stroke of a pen in the law to fall. |
| 16:18 |
EveryEveryone onewho thatdivorces putteth away his wife, and marriethmarries another, committethcommits adultery:. andHe hewho thatmarries marrieth one thatwho is putdivorced away from a husband committethcommits adultery. |
| 16:19 |
Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, faringliving sumptuouslyin luxury every day:. |
| 16:20 |
andA a certain beggar, named Lazarus, was laidtaken atto his gate, full of sores, |
| 16:21 |
and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich mans table;. yeaYes, even the dogs came and licked his sores. |
| 16:22 |
AndThe it came to pass, that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels intoto Abrahams bosom:. andThe the rich man also died, and was buried. |
| 16:23 |
AndIn in Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in tormentstorment, and seethsaw Abraham afarfar off, and Lazarus inat his bosom. |
| 16:24 |
AndHe he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue;! forFor I am in anguish in this flame. |
| 16:25 |
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thouyou, in thyyour lifetime, receivedstreceived thyyour good things, and Lazarus, in likethe mannersame evilway, bad things:. butBut now here he is now comforted, and thouyou artare in anguish. |
| 16:26 |
AndBesides besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that theythose thatwho wouldwant to pass from hencehere to you mayare not be able, and that noneno one may cross over from thencethere to us. |
| 16:27 |
AndHe he said, I prayask theeyou therefore, father, that thouyou wouldestwould send him to my fathers house;— |
| 16:28 |
for I have five brethren; brothers—that he may testify untoto them, lestso they wont also come into this place of torment. |
| 16:29 |
But Abraham saithsaid to him, They have Moses and the prophets;. letLet them hearlisten to them. |
| 16:30 |
AndHe he said, NayNo, father Abraham:, but if one gogoes to them from the dead, they will repent. |
| 16:31 |
AndHe he said untoto him, If they heardont notlisten to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one riserises from the dead. |
| 17:1 |
AndHe he said untoto histhe disciples, It is impossible but that no occasions of stumbling should come;, but woe untoto him, through whom they come! |
| 17:2 |
It werewould wellbe better for him if a millstone were hangedhung aboutaround his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. |
| 17:3 |
TakeBe heedcareful. toIf yourselves:your ifbrother thysins brotheragainst sinyou, rebuke him;. andIf if he repentrepents, forgive him. |
| 17:4 |
AndIf if he sinsins against theeyou seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to theereturns, saying, I repent;, thouyou shaltshall forgive him. |
| 17:5 |
AndThe the apostles said untoto the Lord, Increase our faith. |
| 17:6 |
AndThe the Lord said, If yeyou had faith aslike a grain of mustard seed, yeyou would saytell unto this sycaminesycamore tree, Be thouuprooted rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea;, and it would obey you. |
| 17:7 |
But who is there ofamong you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say unto him, when he iscomes come in from the field, Come straightwayimmediately and sit down toat meat;the table? |
| 17:8 |
andWouldnt willhe not rather saytell unto him, MakePrepare readymy wherewith I may supsupper, andclothe girdyourself thyselfproperly, and serve me, tillwhile I haveeat eaten and drunken;drink. andAfterward afterwardyou thoushall shalt eat and drink? |
| 17:9 |
DothDoes he thank thethat servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not. |
| 17:10 |
Even so yeyou also, when yeyou shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitableunworthy servants;. weWe have done that which it was our duty to do. |
| 17:11 |
AndAs ithe camewas to pass, as they were on thehis way to Jerusalem, that he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee. |
| 17:12 |
AndAs as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men thatwho were lepers met him, who stood afarat off:a distance. |
| 17:13 |
andThey they lifted up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.! |
| 17:14 |
AndWhen when he saw them, he said untoto them, Go and show yourselves untoto the priests. AndAs it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed. |
| 17:15 |
AndOne one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice glorifying God;. |
| 17:16 |
andHe he fell uponon his face at hisJesus feet, giving him thanks:; and he was a Samaritan. |
| 17:17 |
And Jesus answering saidanswered, WereWerent not the ten cleansed? butBut where are the nine? |
| 17:18 |
Were there none found thatwho returned to give glory to God, saveexcept this strangerforeigner? |
| 17:19 |
AndThen he said untoto him, AriseGet up, and go thyyour way:. thyYour faith hathhas madehealed thee wholeyou. |
| 17:20 |
AndBeing being asked by the Pharisees, when theGods kingdomKingdom ofwould God comethcome, he answered them and said, TheGods kingdomKingdom ofdoesnt Godcome cometh not with observation:; |
| 17:21 |
neither shallwill they say, LoLook, here! or, ThereLook, there! for lobehold, theGods kingdomKingdom of God is within you. |
| 17:22 |
AndHe he said untoto the disciples, The days will come, when yeyou shallwill desire to see one of the days of the Son of manMan, and yeyou shallwill not see it. |
| 17:23 |
AndThey theywill shalltell say to you, LoLook, therehere! Loor Look, herethere! Dont go not away, noror follow after them:, |
| 17:24 |
for as the lightning, when it lightenethflashes out of the one part under the heavensky, shinethshines untoto theanother other part under heaven;the sky, so shallwill the Son of manMan be in his day. |
| 17:25 |
But first, he must he suffer many things and be rejected ofby this generation. |
| 17:26 |
AndAs as it camewas to pass in the days of Noah, even so shall it bewill also be in the days of the Son of manMan. |
| 17:27 |
They ate, they drank, they married, and they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the arkship, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. |
| 17:28 |
Likewise, even as it camewas to pass in the days of Lot;: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they buildedbuilt; |
| 17:29 |
but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstonesulfur from heaven, the sky and destroyed them all:. |
| 17:30 |
afterIt will be the same mannerway shall it be in the day that the Son of manMan is revealed. |
| 17:31 |
In that day, he thatwho shallwill be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away:. andLet let him thatwho is in the field likewise not returnturn back. |
| 17:32 |
Remember Lots wife.! |
| 17:33 |
WhosoeverWhoever shallseeks seek to gainsave his life shallloses lose it:, but whosoeverwhoever shallloses lose his life shallpreserves preserve it. |
| 17:34 |
I saytell unto you, Inin that night there shallwill be two menpeople onin one bed;. theOne onewill shall be taken, and the other shallwill be left. |
| 17:35 |
There shallwill be two women grinding grain together;. theOne onewill shall be taken, and the other shallwill be left. |
| 17:37 |
AndThey, they answering, sayasked unto him, Where, Lord? AndHe he said untoto them, Where the body is, thitherthere will the eaglesvultures will also be gathered together. |
| 18:1 |
AndHe healso spakespoke a parable untoto them to the end that they oughtmust always to pray, and not togive faint;up, |
| 18:2 |
saying, There was a judge in a certain city a judge, who feareddidnt notfear God, and regardeddidnt notrespect man:. |
| 18:3 |
andA therewidow was a widow in that city;, and she often came oftto unto him, saying, AvengeDefend me offrom minemy adversary.! |
| 18:4 |
AndHe hewouldnt would not for a while:; but afterward he said withinto himself, Though I neither fear not God, nor regardrespect man;, |
| 18:5 |
yet because this widow troublethbothers me, I will avengedefend her, lestor else she will wear me out by her continual coming. |
| 18:6 |
AndThe the Lord said, HearListen to what the unrighteous judge saithsays. |
| 18:7 |
AndWont shall not God avenge his elect, chosen thatones crywho are crying out to him day and night, and yet he isexercises longsufferingpatience overwith them? |
| 18:8 |
I saytell unto you, that he will avenge them speedilyquickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of manMan comethcomes, shallwill he find faith on the earth? |
| 18:9 |
AndHe healso spakespoke also this parable untoto certain people who trustedwere inconvinced themselvesof thattheir theyown were righteousrighteousness, and setwho despised all others at nought: |
| 18:10 |
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one was a Pharisee, and the other was a publicantax collector. |
| 18:11 |
The Pharisee stood and prayed thusby with himself, like this: God, I thank thee, you that I am not aslike the rest of men,: extortionersextortionists, unjustunrighteous, adulterers, or even aslike this publicantax collector. |
| 18:12 |
I fast twice ina the week;. I give tithes of all that I get. |
| 18:13 |
But the publicantax collector, standing afarfar offaway, wouldwouldnt noteven lift up so much as his eyes untoto heaven, but smotebeat his breastchest, saying, God, be thou merciful to me, a sinner.! |
| 18:14 |
I saytell unto you, Thisthis man went down to his house justified rather than the other:; for everyeveryone onewho thatexalts exalteth himself shallwill be humbled;, but he thatwho humblethhumbles himself shallwill be exalted. |
| 18:15 |
AndThey they were also bringing untotheir himbabies alsoto their babeshim, that he shouldmight touch them:. butBut when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. |
| 18:16 |
But Jesus calledsummoned them unto him, saying, SufferAllow the little children to come untoto me, and forbiddont hinder them, not: for toGods suchKingdom belongethbelongs theto kingdomsuch ofas Godthese. |
| 18:17 |
VerilyMost certainly, I saytell unto you, Whosoeverwhoever shalldoesnt not receive theGods kingdomKingdom oflike God as a little child, he shallwill in no wiseway enter thereininto it. |
| 18:18 |
AndA a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? |
| 18:19 |
And Jesus saidasked unto him, Why callestdo thouyou call me good? noneNo one is good, saveexcept one,: even God. |
| 18:20 |
ThouYou knowestknow the commandments,: DoDont not commit adultery, DoDont not killmurder, DoDont not steal, DoDont notgive bear false witnesstestimony, Honor thyyour father and your mother. |
| 18:21 |
AndHe he said, AllI thesehave thingsobserved haveall Ithese observedthings from my youth up. |
| 18:22 |
AndWhen when Jesus heard itthese things, he said untoto him, OneYou thingstill thoulack lackestone yet:thing. sellSell all that thouyou hast, have and distribute untoit to the poor,. andThen thouyou shaltwill have treasure in heaven:; andthen come, follow me. |
| 18:23 |
But when he heard these things, he became exceedingvery sorrowful;sad, for he was very rich. |
| 18:24 |
And Jesus, seeing himthat he became very sad, said, How hardlyhard shallit theyis thatfor those who have riches to enter into theGods kingdom of GodKingdom! |
| 18:25 |
For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needles eye, than for a rich man to enter into theGods kingdom of GodKingdom. |
| 18:26 |
AndThose theywho that heard it said, Then who can be saved? |
| 18:28 |
And Peter said, LoLook, we have left oureverything own, and followed theeyou. |
| 18:29 |
AndHe he said untoto them, VerilyMost certainly I saytell unto you, Therethere is no manone thatwho hathhas left house, or wife, or brethrenbrothers, or parents, or children, for theGods kingdomKingdoms of Gods sake, |
| 18:30 |
who shallwill not receive manifoldmany times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life. |
| 18:31 |
AndHe he took unto him the twelve, aside and said untoto them, Behold, we goare going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets shallconcerning be accomplished unto the Son of manMan will be completed. |
| 18:32 |
For he shallwill be delivered up untoto the Gentiles, andwill shall be mocked, andtreated shamefully treated, and spit upon:on. |
| 18:33 |
andThey theywill shall scourge and kill him:. andOn the third day, he shallwill rise again. |
| 18:34 |
AndThey they understood none of these things;. andThis this saying was hidhidden from them, and they perceiveddidnt notunderstand the things that were said. |
| 18:35 |
AndAs ithe came tonear pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayroad, side begging:. |
| 18:36 |
andHearing hearing a multitude going by, he inquiredasked what this meant. |
| 18:37 |
AndThey they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passethwas passing by. |
| 18:38 |
AndHe he cried, sayingout, Jesus, thouyou son of David, have mercy on me.! |
| 18:39 |
AndThose theywho thatled wentthe beforeway rebuked him, that he should holdbe hisquiet; peace: but he cried out all the more a great deal, ThouYou son of David, have mercy on me.! |
| 18:40 |
AndStanding Jesus stoodstill, andJesus commanded him to be brought untoto him:. andWhen when he washad come near, he asked him, |
| 18:41 |
What wiltdo thouyou thatwant Ime shouldto do unto thee? AndHe he said, Lord, that I may receivesee my sightagain. |
| 18:42 |
And Jesus said untoto him, Receive thyyour sight:. thyYour faith hathhas madehealed thee wholeyou. |
| 18:43 |
AndImmediately immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God:. andAll all the people, when they saw it, gavepraised praise unto God. |
| 19:1 |
AndHe he entered and was passing through Jericho. |
| 19:2 |
AndThere behold, was a man callednamed by name Zacchaeus;. andHe he was a chief publicantax collector, and he was rich. |
| 19:3 |
AndHe hewas soughttrying to see Jesus who heJesus was;, and couldcouldnt notbecause forof the crowd, because he was little of statureshort. |
| 19:4 |
AndHe he ran on before, ahead and climbed up into a sycomoresycamore tree to see him:, for he was going to pass that way. |
| 19:5 |
AndWhen when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said untoto him, Zacchaeus, makehurry haste, and come down;, for totoday day I must abidestay at thyyour house. |
| 19:6 |
AndHe he made hastehurried, and came down, and received him joyfully. |
| 19:7 |
AndWhen when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He ishas gone in to lodge with a man thatwho is a sinner. |
| 19:8 |
And Zacchaeus stood, and said untoto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor;. andIf if I have wrongfully exacted aughtanything of any mananyone, I restore fourfoldfour times as much. |
| 19:9 |
And Jesus said untoto him, ToToday, daysalvation ishas salvation come to this house, forasmuchbecause as he also is a son of Abraham. |
| 19:10 |
For the Son of manMan came to seek and to save that which was lost. |
| 19:11 |
AndAs as they heard these things, he addedwent on and spaketold a parable, because he was nighnear to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that theGods kingdomKingdom ofwould Godbe wasrevealed immediately to appear. |
| 19:12 |
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. |
| 19:13 |
AndHe he called ten servants of his, and gave them ten poundsmina coins, and saidtold unto them, TradeConduct yebusiness herewithuntil till I come. |
| 19:14 |
But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassageenvoy after him, saying, We willdont notwant that this man to reign over us. |
| 19:15 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when he washad come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, untoto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by tradingconducting business. |
| 19:16 |
AndThe the first came before him, saying, Lord, thyyour poundmina hathhas made ten poundsmore moreminas. |
| 19:17 |
AndHe he said untoto him, Well done, thouyou good servant:! becauseBecause thouyou wastwere found faithful inwith a very little, you shall have thou authority over ten cities. |
| 19:18 |
AndThe the second came, saying, ThyYour poundmina, Lord, hathhas made five poundsminas. |
| 19:19 |
AndSo he said untoto him also, BeAnd thouyou alsoare to be over five cities. |
| 19:20 |
AndAnother another came, saying, Lord, behold, hereyour is thy poundmina, which I kept laid upaway in a napkin:handkerchief, |
| 19:21 |
for I feared theeyou, because thouyou artare an austereexacting man:. thouYou takesttake up that which thouyou layedstdidnt notlay down, and reapestreap that which thouyou didstdidnt not sow. |
| 19:22 |
He saithsaid untoto him, Out of thineyour own mouth I will I judge theeyou, thouyou wicked servant.! ThouYou knewestknew that I am an austereexacting man, taking up that which I laiddidnt notlay down, and reaping that which I diddidnt not sow;. |
| 19:23 |
thenThen whereforewhy gavestdidnt thouyou notdeposit my money intoin the bank, and I at my coming, shouldI might have requiredearned itinterest withon interestit? |
| 19:24 |
AndHe he said untoto themthose thatwho stood by, Take the mina away from him the pound, and give it untoto him thatwho hathhas the ten poundsminas. |
| 19:25 |
AndThey they said untoto him, Lord, he hathhas ten pounds.minas! |
| 19:26 |
For I saytell unto you, that untoto everyeveryone onewho thathas, hathwill shallmore be given; but from him thatwho hathdoesnt nothave, even that which he hathhas shallwill be taken away from him. |
| 19:27 |
But thesebring minethose enemies, thatof wouldmine notwho thatdidnt Iwant shouldme to reign over them, bring hitherhere, and slaykill them before me. |
| 19:28 |
AndHaving whensaid hethese had thus spokenthings, he went on beforeahead, going up to Jerusalem. |
| 19:29 |
AndWhen ithe came near to pass,Bethsphage when he drew nigh unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountmountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of thehis disciples, |
| 19:30 |
saying, Go your way into the village overon againstthe you;other side, in which, as yeyou enter, yeyou shallwill find a colt tied, whereonwhich no man has ever yet sat: looseupon. him,Untie it and bring himit. |
| 19:31 |
AndIf ifanyone anyasks one ask you, Why doare yeyou looseuntying himit? thussay shallto yehim: say, The Lord hathneeds need of himit. |
| 19:32 |
AndThose theywho that were sent went away, and found eventhings just as he had saidtold unto them. |
| 19:33 |
AndAs as they were loosinguntying the colt, theits owners thereof said untoto them, Why looseare yeyou untying the colt? |
| 19:34 |
AndThey they said, The Lord hathneeds need of himit. |
| 19:35 |
AndThen they brought himit to Jesus:. andThey they threw their garmentscloaks uponon the colt, and setsat Jesus thereonon them. |
| 19:36 |
AndAs as he went, they spread their garmentscloaks inon the wayroad. |
| 19:37 |
AndAs as he was now drawinggetting nighnear, even at the descent of the mountMount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen;, |
| 19:38 |
saying, Blessed is the King thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord:! peacePeace in heaven, and glory in the highest.! |
| 19:39 |
AndSome some of the Pharisees from the multitude said untoto him, Teacher, rebuke thyyour disciples.! |
| 19:40 |
AndHe he answered and saidthem, I tell you that, if these shallwere hold their peacesilent, the stones willwould cry out. |
| 19:41 |
AndWhen when he drewcame nighnear, he saw the city and wept over it, |
| 19:42 |
saying, If thouyou, hadsteven knownyou, inhad thisknown day, today even thou, the things which belong untoto your peace! butBut now, they are hidhidden from thineyour eyes. |
| 19:43 |
For the days shallwill come uponon thee, you when thineyour enemies shallwill castthrow up a bankbarricade aboutagainst theeyou, andsurround compass thee roundyou, andhem keepyou thee in on every side, |
| 19:44 |
and shallwill dash theeyou to the ground, and thyyour children within thee;you andto theythe shallground. They will not leave in theeyou one stone uponon another;, because thouyou knewestdidnt notknow the time of thyyour visitation. |
| 19:45 |
AndHe he entered into the temple, and began to castdrive out themthose thatwho bought and sold in it, |
| 19:46 |
saying untoto them, It is written, AndMy my house shallis be a house of prayer:, but yeyou have made it a den of robbers.! |
| 19:47 |
AndHe he was teaching daily in the temple., Butbut the chief priests, and the scribes, and the principalleading men ofamong the people sought to destroy him:. |
| 19:48 |
andThey theycouldnt could not find what they might do;, for all the people all hung uponon him,to listeningevery word that he said. |
| 20:1 |
AndOn it came to pass, on one of thethose days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and preaching the gospelGood News, there came upon him the chief priests and the scribes came to him with the elders;. |
| 20:2 |
andThey theyasked spake, saying unto him, Tell us: Byby what authority doestdo thouyou do these things? orOr who is hegiving thatyou gave thee this authority? |
| 20:3 |
AndHe he answered and said unto them, I also will ask you aone question;. andTell tell me: |
| 20:4 |
Thethe baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? |
| 20:5 |
AndThey they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven;, he will say, Why diddidnt yeyou not believe him? |
| 20:6 |
But if we shall say, From men;, all the people will stone us:, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet. |
| 20:7 |
AndThey they answered, that they knewdidnt notknow whencewhere it was from. |
| 20:8 |
And Jesus said untoto them, Neither tellwill I tell you by what authority I do these things. |
| 20:9 |
AndHe he began to speaktell unto the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, and letrented it out to husbandmensome farmers, and went into another country for a long time. |
| 20:10 |
AndAt at the proper season, he sent untoa theservant husbandmento athe servant, farmers thatto theycollect shouldhis giveshare him of the fruit of the vineyard:. butBut the husbandmenfarmers beat him, and sent him away empty. |
| 20:11 |
AndHe he sent yet another servant:, and himthey also they beat, him and handledtreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. |
| 20:12 |
AndHe he sent yet a third:, and himthey also they wounded, him and castthrew him forthout. |
| 20:13 |
AndThe the Lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son;. itIt may be that seeing him, they will reverencerespect him. |
| 20:14 |
But when the husbandmenfarmers saw him, they reasoned oneamong with anotherthemselves, saying, This is the heir;. letCome, uslets kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. |
| 20:15 |
AndThen they castthrew him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the Lord of the vineyard do untoto them? |
| 20:16 |
He will come and destroy these husbandmenfarmers, and will give the vineyard untoto others. AndWhen when they heard itthat, they said, GodMay forbid.that never be! |
| 20:17 |
But he looked uponat them, and said, WhatThen thenwhat is this that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the headchief of the cornercornerstone? |
| 20:18 |
EveryEveryone onewho thatfalls falleth on that stone shallwill be broken to pieces;, but onit whomsoeverwill itcrush shallwhomever fall, it willfalls scatteron himto as dust. |
| 20:19 |
AndThe thechief scribespriests and the chiefscribes priests sought to lay hands on him in that very hour;, andbut they feared the people: —for they perceivedknew that he spakehad spoken this parable against them. |
| 20:20 |
AndThey they watched him, and sent forthout spies, who feignedpretended themselves to be righteous, that they might taketrap holdhim ofin hissomething speechhe said, so as to deliver him up to the rulepower and to the authority of the governor. |
| 20:21 |
AndThey they asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that thouyou sayestsay and teachestteach rightlywhat is right, and acceptestarent notpartial theto person of anyanyone, but oftruly ateach truth teachest the way of God:. |
| 20:22 |
Is it lawful for us to givepay tributetaxes untoto Caesar, or not? |
| 20:23 |
But he perceived their craftiness, and said untoto them, Why do you test me? |
| 20:24 |
Show me a denarius. Whose image and superscriptioninscription hathare on it? AndThey they saidanswered, Caesars. |
| 20:25 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Then rendergive untoto Caesar the things that are Caesars, and untoto God the things that are Gods. |
| 20:26 |
AndThey theywerent were not able to taketrap holdhim ofin thehis sayingwords before the people:. andThey theymarveled marvelled at his answer, and heldwere their peacesilent. |
| 20:27 |
AndSome thereof the Sadducees came to him certain of the Sadducees, theythose thatwho saydeny that there is noa resurrection;. |
| 20:28 |
andThey they asked him, saying, Teacher, Moses wrote untoto us, that if a mans brother die, dies having a wife, and he beis childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up seedchildren untofor his brother. |
| 20:29 |
There were therefore seven brethren:brothers. andThe the first took a wife, and died childless;. |
| 20:30 |
The second took her as wife, and thehe second:died childless. |
| 20:31 |
andThe the third took her;, and likewise the seven alsoall left no children, and died. |
| 20:33 |
InTherefore in the resurrection therefore whose wife of them shallwill she be? forFor the seven had her toas a wife. |
| 20:34 |
And Jesus said untoto them, The sonschildren of this worldage marry, and are given in marriage:. |
| 20:35 |
butBut theythose thatwho are accountedconsidered worthy to attain to that world, age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:. |
| 20:36 |
forFor neitherthey cancant they die any more:, for they are equallike unto the angels; and are sonschildren of God, being sonschildren of the resurrection. |
| 20:37 |
But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, inat the place concerning the Bushbush, when he callethcalled the Lord theThe God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. |
| 20:38 |
Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living:, for all liveare untoalive to him. |
| 20:39 |
AndSome certain of the scribes answering saidanswered, Teacher, thouyou hastspeak well said. |
| 20:40 |
ForThey theydidnt durstdare notto any more ask him any questionmore questions. |
| 20:41 |
AndHe he said untoto them, HowWhy saydo they say that the Christ is Davids son? |
| 20:42 |
For David himself saithsays in the book of Psalms, The Lord said untoto my Lord, Sit thouat on my right hand, |
| 20:43 |
Tilluntil I make thineyour enemies the footstool of thyyour feet. |
| 20:44 |
David therefore callethcalls him Lord, andso how is he his son? |
| 20:45 |
AndIn in the hearing of all the people, he said untoto his disciples, |
| 20:46 |
Beware of thethose scribes, who desirelike to walk in long robes, and love salutationsgreetings in the marketplaces, andthe chiefbest seats in the synagogues, and chiefthe best places at feasts; |
| 20:47 |

| 21:1 |
AndHe he looked up, and saw the rich menpeople thatwho were castingputting their gifts into the treasury. |
| 21:2 |
AndHe he saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mitessmall brass coins. |
| 21:3 |
AndHe he said, OfTruly a truth I saytell unto you, Thisthis poor widow castput in more than theyall all:of them, |
| 21:4 |
for all these didput ofin theirgifts superfluityfor castGod infrom untotheir theabundance, gifts; but she, out of her wantpoverty, didput cast in all the living that she had to live on. |
| 21:5 |
AndAs as some spakewere oftalking about the temple, and how it was adorneddecorated with goodlybeautiful stones and offeringsgifts, he said, |

As for these things which yeyou beholdsee, the days will come, in which there shallwill not be left here one stone uponon another, that shallwill not be thrown down. |
| 21:7 |
AndThey they asked him, saying, Teacher, so when thereforewill shall these things be? andWhat whatis shall be the sign whenthat these things are about to come to passhappen? |

| 21:11 |
andThere therewill shall be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in diversvarious places. faminesThere andwill pestilences; and there shall be terrors and great signs from heaven. |
| 21:12 |
But before all these things, they shallwill lay their hands on you, and shallwill persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my names sake. |
| 21:13 |
It shallwill turn out untoas youa testimony for a testimonyyou. |
| 21:14 |
Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer:, |

| 21:18 |
And not a hair of your head shallwill perish. |
| 21:19 |
InBy your patienceendurance yeyou shallwill win your soulslives. |
| 21:20 |
But when yeyou see Jerusalem compassedsurrounded withby armies, then know that herits desolation is at hand. |
| 21:21 |
Then let themthose thatwho are in JudaeaJudea flee untoto the mountains;. andLet letthose themwho that are in the midstmiddle of her depart. out;Let andthose letwho not them that are in the country not enter therein. |

| 21:25 |
AndThere therewill shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars; and uponon the earth distressanxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billowswaves; |
| 21:26 |
men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world:, for the powers of the heavens shallwill be shaken. |
| 21:27 |
AndThen thenthey shallwill they see the Son of manMan coming in a cloud with power and great glory. |
