| 1:1 |
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job;. andThat that man was perfectblameless and upright, and one thatwho feared God, and turned away from evil. |
| 1:2 |
AndThere there were born untoto him seven sons and three daughters. |
| 1:3 |
His substancepossessions also waswere seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred shefemale assesdonkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east. |
| 1:4 |
AndHis his sons went and held a feast in the house of each one uponon his daybirthday; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. |
| 1:5 |
AndIt it was so, when the days of their feasting werehad gonerun abouttheir course, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all:. forFor Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts. ThusJob did Jobso continually. |
| 1:6 |
Now it came to pass on the day when theGods sons of God came to present themselves before JehovahYahweh, that Satan also came among them. |
| 1:7 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Satan, WhenceWhere comesthave thouyou come from? Then Satan answered JehovahYahweh, and said, From going toback and froforth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. |
| 1:8 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Satan, HastHave thouyou considered my servant, Job? forFor there is noneno one like him in the earth, a perfectblameless and an upright man, one thatwho fearethfears God, and turnethturns away from evil. |
| 1:9 |
Then Satan answered JehovahYahweh, and said, DothDoes Job fear God for noughtnothing? |
| 1:10 |
HastHavent notyou thou made a hedge aboutaround him, and aboutaround his house, and aboutaround all that he hathhas, on every side? thouYou hasthave blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. |
| 1:11 |
But putstretch forthout thyyour hand now, and touch all that he hathhas, and he will renounce theeyou to thyyour face. |
| 1:12 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Satan, Behold, all that he hathhas is in thyyour power;. onlyOnly uponon himself putdont notstretch forthout thyyour hand. So Satan went forthout from the presence of JehovahYahweh. |
| 1:13 |
AndIt it fell on a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldestoldest brothers house, |
| 1:14 |
that there came a messenger untocame to Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the assesdonkeys feeding beside them;, |
| 1:15 |
and the Sabeans fell upon themattacked, and took them away:. yeaYes, they have slainkilled the servants with the edge of the sword;, and I onlyalone amhave escaped alone to tell theeyou. |
| 1:16 |
While he was yetstill speaking, thereanother came also another, came and said, The fire of God ishas fallen from heaventhe sky, and hathhas burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them;, and I onlyalone amhave escaped alone to tell theeyou. |
| 1:17 |
While he was yetstill speaking, thereanother came also another, came and said, The Chaldeans made three bands, and fellswept upondown on the camels, and have taken them away, yeayes, and slainkilled the servants with the edge of the sword; and I onlyalone amhave escaped alone to tell theeyou. |
| 1:18 |
While he was yetstill speaking, there came also another, and said, ThyYour sons and thyyour daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldestoldest brothers house;, |
| 1:19 |
and, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smotestruck the four corners of the house, and it fell uponon the young men, and they are dead;. and I onlyalone amhave escaped alone to tell theeyou. |
| 1:20 |
Then Job arose, and renttore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down uponon the ground, and worshipped;worshiped. |
| 1:21 |
andHe he said, Naked I came I out of my mothers womb, and naked shallwill I return thither:there. JehovahYahweh gave, and JehovahYahweh hathhas taken away;. blessedBlessed be theYahwehs name of Jehovah. |
| 1:22 |
In all this, Job sinneddidnt notsin, nor chargedcharge God foolishlywith wrongdoing. |
| 2:1 |
Again, it came to pass on the day when theGods sons of God came to present themselves before JehovahYahweh, that Satan came also among them to present himself before JehovahYahweh. |
| 2:2 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Satan, FromWhere whencehave comestyou thoucome from? And Satan answered JehovahYahweh, and said, From going toback and froforth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. |
| 2:3 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Satan, HastHave thouyou considered my servant Job? forFor there is noneno one like him in the earth, a perfectblameless and an upright man, one thatwho fearethfears God, and turnethturns away from evil:. andHe he still holdethmaintains fast his integrity, although thouyou movedstincited me against him, to destroyruin him without cause. |
| 2:4 |
And Satan answered JehovahYahweh, and said, Skin for skin,. yeaYes, all that a man hathhas he will he give for his life. |
| 2:5 |
But putstretch forthout thyyour hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce theeyou to thyyour face. |
| 2:6 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Satan, Behold, he is in thyyour hand;. onlyOnly spare his life. |
| 2:7 |
So Satan went forthout from the presence of JehovahYahweh, and smotestruck Job with sorepainful boilssores from the sole of his foot untoto his crownhead. |
| 2:8 |
AndHe he took himfor himself a potsherd to scrape himself therewith;with, and he sat among the ashes. |
| 2:9 |
Then said his wife untosaid to him, DostDo thouyou still holdmaintain fastyour thine integrity? renounceRenounce God, and die. |
| 2:10 |
But he said untoto her, ThouYou speakestspeak as one of the foolish women speakethwould speak. What? shallShall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this didJob notdidnt Job sin with his lips. |
| 2:11 |
Now when Jobs three friends heard of all this evil that washad come uponon him, they each came every one from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to bemoansympathize with him and to comfort him. |
| 2:12 |
AndWhen when they lifted up their eyes afarfrom offa distance, and knewdidnt recognize him not, they liftedraised up their voicevoices, and wept; and they renteach everytore one his robe, and sprinkled dust uponon their heads toward heaventhe sky. |
| 2:13 |
So they sat down with him uponon the ground seven days and seven nights, and noneno spakeone spoke a word untoto him:, for they saw that his grief was very great. |
| 3:1 |
After this Job opened Job his mouth, and cursed the day of his daybirth. |
| 3:2 |
And Job answered and said: |
| 3:3 |
Let the day perish whereinin which I was born, And the night which said, There is a manboy child conceived. |
| 3:4 |
Let that day be darkness;. LetDont notlet God from above seek for it, Neitherneither let the light shine uponon it. |
| 3:5 |
Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own;. Let a cloud dwell uponon it;. Let all that makethmakes black the day black terrify it. |
| 3:6 |
As for that night, let thick darkness seize uponon it:. Let it not rejoice among the days of the year;. Let it not come into the number of the months. |
| 3:7 |
LoBehold, let that night be barren;. Let no joyful voice come therein. |
| 3:8 |
Let them curse it thatwho curse the day, Whowho are ready to rouse up leviathan. |
| 3:9 |
Let the stars of theits twilight thereof be dark:. Let it look for light, but have none;, Neitherneither let it beholdsee the eyelids of the morning:, |
| 3:10 |
Becausebecause it didnt shut not up the doors of my mothers womb, Nornor hiddid it hide trouble from minemy eyes. |
| 3:11 |
Why dieddidnt I notdie from the womb? Why diddidnt I not give up the ghostspirit when my mother barebore me? |
| 3:12 |
Why did the knees receive me? Or why the breastsbreast, that I should sucknurse? |
| 3:13 |
For now I should I have lain down and been quiet;. I should have slept;, then had I would have been at rest, |
| 3:14 |
Withwith kings and counsellorscounselors of the earth, Whowho built up waste places for themselves; |
| 3:15 |
Oror with princes thatwho had gold, Whowho filled their houses with silver:; |
| 3:16 |
Oror as a hidden untimely birth I had not been, Asas infants thatwho never saw light. |
| 3:17 |
There the wicked cease from troubling;. AndThere there the weary are at rest. |
| 3:18 |
There the prisoners are at ease together;. They dont hear not the voice of the taskmaster. |
| 3:19 |
The small and the great are there:. AndThe the servant is free from his master. |
| 3:20 |
WhereforeWhy is light given to him thatwho is in misery, And life untoto the bitter in soul;, |
| 3:21 |
Whowho long for death, but it comethdoesnt not, come; Andand dig for it more than for hidhidden treasures;, |
| 3:22 |
Whowho rejoice exceedingly, Andand are glad, when they can find the grave? |
| 3:23 |
Why is light given to a man whose way is hidhidden, And whom God hathhas hedged in? |
| 3:24 |
For my sighing comethcomes before I eat,. AndMy my groanings are poured out like water. |
| 3:25 |
For the thing which I fear comethcomes uponon me, And that which I am afraid of comethcomes untoto me. |
| 3:26 |
I am not at ease, neither am I quiet, neither havedo I have rest; Butbut trouble comethcomes. |
| 4:1 |
Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and saidanswered, |
| 4:2 |
If onesomeone assayventures to communetalk with theeyou, wiltwill thouyou be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking? |
| 4:3 |
Behold, thouyou hasthave instructed many, Andyou thouhave hast strengthened the weak hands. |
| 4:4 |
ThyYour words have upholdensupported him thatwho was falling, Andyou thouhave hast made firm the feeble knees firm. |
| 4:5 |
But now it ishas come untoto theeyou, and thouyou faintest;faint. It touchethtouches theeyou, and thouyou artare troubled. |
| 4:6 |
IsIsnt notyour thypiety fearyour of God thy confidence,? AndIsnt the integrity of thyyour ways thyyour hope? |
| 4:7 |
Remember, I pray theenow, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off? |
| 4:8 |
According asto what I have seen, theythose thatwho plow iniquity, Andand sow trouble, reap the same. |
| 4:9 |
By the breath of God they perish,. AndBy by the blast of his anger are they consumed. |
| 4:10 |
The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions, are broken. |
| 4:11 |
The old lion perishethperishes for lack of prey,. AndThe thecubs whelps of the lioness are scattered abroad. |
| 4:12 |
Now a thing was secretly brought to me,. AndMy mine ear received a whisper thereofof it. |
| 4:13 |
In thoughts from the visions of the night, Whenwhen deep sleep fallethfalls on men, |
| 4:14 |
Fearfear came uponon me, and trembling, Whichwhich made all my bones to shake. |
| 4:15 |
Then a spirit passed before my face;. The hair of my flesh stood up. |
| 4:16 |
It stood still, but I couldcouldnt not discern theits appearance. thereof; A form was before minemy eyes:. There was silenceSilence, andthen I heard a voice, saying, |
| 4:18 |
Behold, he puttethputs no trust in his servants;. AndHe charges his angels he chargeth with folly:error. |
| 4:19 |
How much more themthose thatwho dwell in houses of clay, Whosewhose foundation is in the dust, Whowho are crushed before the moth! |
| 4:20 |
BetwixtBetween morning and evening they are destroyed:. They perish forforever ever without any regarding it. |
| 4:21 |
IsIsnt not their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom. |
| 5:1 |
Call now; is there any thatwho will answer theeyou? AndTo to which of the holy ones wiltwill thouyou turn? |
| 5:2 |
For vexationresentment killethkills the foolish man, Andand jealousy slayethkills the silly onesimple. |
| 5:3 |
I have seen the foolish taking root:, Butbut suddenly I cursed his habitation. |
| 5:4 |
His children are far from safety,. AndThey they are crushed in the gate,. Neither is there any to deliver them:, |
| 5:5 |
Whosewhose harvest the hungry eatetheat up, Andand takethtake it even out of the thorns;. AndThe the snare gapethgapes for their substance. |
| 5:6 |
For affliction comethdoesnt notcome forthout fromof the dust, Neitherneither dothdoes trouble spring out of the ground; |
| 5:7 |
Butbut man is born untoto trouble, Asas the sparks fly upward. |
| 5:8 |
But as for me, I would seek unto God,. AndI unto God would I commit my cause; to God, |
| 5:9 |
Whowho doethdoes great things andthat unsearchablecant be fathomed, Marvellousmarvelous things without number:; |
| 5:10 |
Whowho givethgives rain uponon the earth, Andand sendethsends waters uponon the fields; |
| 5:11 |
Soso that he settethsets up on high those thatwho are low, And those thatwho mourn are exalted to safety. |
| 5:12 |
He frustratethfrustrates the devicesplans of the crafty, Soso that their hands cannotcant perform their enterprise. |
| 5:13 |
He takethtakes the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong. |
| 5:14 |
They meet with darkness in the day time, Andand grope at noonday as in the night. |
| 5:15 |
But he savethsaves from the sword of their mouth, Eveneven the needy from the hand of the mighty. |
| 5:16 |
So the poor hathhas hope, Andand iniquityinjustice stoppethshuts her mouth. |
| 5:17 |
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:corrects. Therefore despisedo not thoudespise the chastening of the Almighty. |
| 5:18 |
For he makethwounds sore, and bindethbinds up;. He woundeth, injures and his hands make whole. |
| 5:19 |
He will deliver theeyou in six troubles; Yeayes, in seven there shall no evil will touch theeyou. |
| 5:20 |
In famine he will redeem theeyou from death; And in war, from the power of the sword. |
| 5:21 |
ThouYou shaltwill be hidhidden from the scourge of the tongue;, Neitherneither shaltwill thouyou be afraid of destruction when it comethcomes. |
| 5:22 |
AtYou destructionwill andlaugh dearthat thoudestruction shaltand laugh;famine, Neitherneither shaltwill thouyou be afraid of the beastsanimals of the earth. |
| 5:23 |
For thouyou shaltwill be inallied league with the stones of the field;. AndThe theanimals beasts of the field shallwill be at peace with theeyou. |
| 5:24 |
AndYou thouwill shalt know that thyyour tent is in peace;. AndYou thouwill shalt visit thyyour fold, and shaltwill miss nothing. |
| 5:25 |
ThouYou shaltwill know also that thyyour seedoffspring shallwill be great, Andyour thine offspring as the grass of the earth. |
| 5:26 |
ThouYou shaltwill come to thyyour grave in a full age, Likelike as a shock of grain comethcomes in in its season. |
| 5:27 |
Lo thisBehold, we have searchedresearched it,. soIt it is; so. Hear it, and know thou it for thyyour good. |
| 6:1 |
Then Job answered and said, |
| 6:2 |
Oh that my vexationanguish were but weighed, Andand all my calamity laid in the balances! |
| 6:3 |
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas:, Thereforetherefore have my words have been rash. |
| 6:4 |
For the arrows of the Almighty are within me,. TheMy poisonspirit whereofdrinks myup spirittheir drinkethpoison. up: The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me. |
| 6:5 |
DothDoes the wild assdonkey bray when he hathhas grass? Or lowethdoes the ox low over his fodder? |
| 6:6 |
Can that which hathhas no savorflavor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg? |
| 6:7 |
My soul refusethrefuses to touch them;. They are as loathsome food to me. |
| 6:8 |
Oh that I might have my request;, And that God would grant me the thing that I long for!, |
| 6:9 |
Eveneven that it would please God to crush me; Thatthat he would let loose his hand, and cut me off! |
| 6:10 |
AndLet be it still be my consolation, Yeayes, let me exult in pain that sparethdoesnt notspare, Thatthat I have not denied the words of the Holy One. |
| 6:11 |
What is my strength, that I should wait? AndWhat what is minemy end, that I should be patient? |
| 6:12 |
Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of brassbronze? |
| 6:13 |
IsIsnt it not that I have no help in me, And that wisdom is driven quiteaway from me? |
| 6:14 |
To him thatwho is ready to faint, kindness should be showedshown from his friend; Eveneven to him thatwho forsakethforsakes the fear of the Almighty. |
| 6:15 |
My brethrenbrothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, Asas the channel of brooks that pass away; |
| 6:16 |
Whichwhich are black by reason of the ice, Andin whereinwhich the snow hidethhides itself:. |
| 6:17 |
WhatIn timethe theydry wax warmseason, they vanish;. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place. |
| 6:18 |
The caravans that travel bybeside the way of them turn aside;away. They go up into the waste, and perish. |
| 6:19 |
The caravans of Tema looked,. The companies of Sheba waited for them. |
| 6:20 |
They were putdistressed to shame because they hadwere hoped;confident. They came thitherthere, and were confounded. |
| 6:21 |
For now yeyou are nothing;. YeYou see a terror, and are afraid. |
| 6:22 |
Did I ever say, Give untoto me? Oror, Offer a present for me offrom your substance? |
| 6:23 |
Oror, Deliver me from the adversarys hand? Oror, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors? |
| 6:24 |
Teach me, and I will hold my peace;. AndCause cause me to understand whereinmy I have errederror. |
| 6:25 |
How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what dothdoes it reprove? |
| 6:26 |
Do yeyou thinkintend to reprove words, Seeingsince that the speeches of one thatwho is desperate are as wind? |
| 6:27 |
YeaYes, yeyou would even cast lots uponfor the fatherless, Andand make merchandise of your friend. |
| 6:28 |
Now therefore be pleased to look uponat me;, Forfor surely I shallwill not lie to your face. |
| 6:29 |
Return,Please Ireturn. prayLet you, let there be no injustice;. YeaYes, return again,. myMy cause is righteous. |
| 6:30 |
Is there injustice on my tongue? CannotCant my taste discern mischievous things? |
| 7:1 |
IsIsnt therea notman aforced warfare to manlabor uponon earth? AndArent are not his days like the days of a hirelinghired hand? |
| 7:2 |
As a servant thatwho earnestly desirethdesires the shadow, And as a hireling thatwho lookethlooks for his wages:, |
| 7:3 |
Soso I am I made to possess months of misery, And wearisome nights are appointed to me. |
| 7:4 |
When I lie down, I say, When shallwill I arise, and the night be gone? And I amtoss full of tossings to and froturn untountil the dawning of the day. |
| 7:5 |
My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust;. My skin closethcloses up, and breakethbreaks out afresh. |
| 7:6 |
My days are swifter than a weavers shuttle, Andand are spent without hope. |
| 7:7 |
Oh remember that my life is a breath:. MineMy eye shallwill no more see good. |
| 7:8 |
The eye of him thatwho seethsees me shallwill beholdsee me no more;. ThineYour eyes shallwill be uponon me, but I shallwill not be. |
| 7:9 |
As the cloud is consumed and vanishethvanishes away, Soso he thatwho goethgoes down to Sheol shallwill come up no more. |
| 7:10 |
He shallwill return no more to his house, Neitherneither shallwill his place know him any more. |
| 7:11 |
Therefore I will not refrainkeep mysilent. mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit;. I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. |
| 7:12 |
Am I a sea, or a sea monster, Thatthat thouyou settestput a watchguard over me? |
| 7:13 |
When I say, My bed shallwill comfort me,. My couch shallwill ease my complaint;, |
| 7:14 |
Thenthen thouyou scarestscare me with dreams, Andand terrifiestterrify me through visions:, |
| 7:15 |
Soso that my soul choosethchooses strangling, And death rather than these my bones. |
| 7:16 |
I loathe my life;. I woulddont notwant to live alway:forever. LetLeave me alone;, for my days are vanitybut a breath. |
| 7:17 |
What is man, that thouyou shouldestshould magnify him, And that thouyou shouldestshould set thyyour mind uponon him, |
| 7:18 |
And that thouyou shouldestshould visit him every morning, Andand trytest him every moment? |
| 7:19 |
How long wiltwill thouyou not look away from me, Nornor letleave me alone tilluntil I swallow down my spittle? |
| 7:20 |
If I have sinned, what do I untodo theeto you, Oyou thou watcher of men? Why hasthave thouyou set me as a mark for theeyou, Soso that I am a burden to myself? |
| 7:21 |
AndWhy whydo dostyou thou not pardon my transgressiondisobedience, and take away minemy iniquity? For now shallwill I lie down in the dust;. AndYou thouwill wilt seek me diligently, but I shallwill not be. |
| 8:1 |
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and saidanswered, |
| 8:2 |
How long wiltwill thouyou speak these things? AndShall how long shall the words of thyyour mouth be like a mighty wind? |
| 8:3 |
DothDoes God pervert justice? Or dothdoes the Almighty pervert righteousness? |
| 8:4 |
If thyyour children have sinned against him, And he hathhas delivered them into the hand of their transgression;disobedience. |
| 8:5 |
If thouyou wouldestwant to seek God diligently unto God, And make thyyour supplication to the Almighty;. |
| 8:6 |
If thouyou wertwere pure and upright:, Surelysurely now he would awakeawaken for theeyou, Andand make the habitation of thyyour righteousness prosperous. |
| 8:7 |
AndThough thoughyour thy beginning was small, Yetyet thyyour latter end would greatly increase. |
| 8:8 |
ForPlease inquire, I pray thee, of thepast formergenerations. age,Find Andout applyabout thyselfthe tolearning thatof which their fathers have searched out. |
| 8:9 |
For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, Becausebecause our days uponon earth are a shadow;. |

| 8:13 |
So are the paths of all thatwho forget God;. AndThe the hope of the godless man shallwill perish:, |
| 8:14 |
Whosewhose confidence shallwill break in sunderapart, And whose trust is a spiders web. |
| 8:15 |
He shallwill lean uponon his house, but it shallwill not stand:. He shallwill holdcling fastto therebyit, but it shallwill not endure. |

He is green before the sun,. AndHis his shoots go forthout overalong his garden. |
| 8:17 |
His roots are wrapped aboutaround the stonerock heap, pile. He beholdethsees the place of stones. |
| 8:18 |
If he beis destroyed from his place, Thenthen it shallwill deny him, saying, I have not seen theeyou. |
| 8:19 |
Behold, this is the joy of his way;. AndOut out of the earth, shall others will spring. |
| 8:20 |
Behold, God will not cast away a perfectblameless man, Neitherneither will he uphold the evil doersevildoers. |
| 8:21 |
He will yetstill fill thyyour mouth with laughter, Andyour thy lips with shouting. |
| 8:22 |
TheyThose thatwho hate theeyou shallwill be clothed with shame;. AndThe the tent of the wicked shallwill be no more. |
| 9:1 |
Then Job answered and said, |
| 9:2 |
OfTruly a truth I know that it is so:, Butbut how can man be just with God? |
| 9:3 |
If he beis pleased to contend with him, Hehe cannotcant answer him one oftime in a thousand. |
| 9:4 |
HeGod is wise in heart, and mighty in strength:. Who hathhas hardened himself against him, and prospered?—? |

| 9:6 |
ThatHe shakethshakes the earth out of its place,. AndIts the pillars thereof tremble;. |

ThatHe commandethcommands the sun, and it risethdoesnt notrise, Andand sealethseals up the stars;. |
| 9:8 |
ThatHe alone stretchethstretches out the heavens, Andand treadethtreads uponon the waves of the sea;. |

ThatHe makethmakes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, Andand the chambersrooms of the south;. |
| 9:10 |
ThatHe doethdoes great things past finding out,; Yeayes, marvellousmarvelous things without number. |
| 9:11 |
LoBehold, he goethgoes by me, and I dont see him. not: He passethpasses on also, but I dont perceive him not. |
| 9:12 |
Behold, he seizethsnatches theaway. prey,Who who can hinder him? Who will sayask unto him, What doestare thouyou doing? |
| 9:13 |
God will not withdraw his anger;. The helpers of Rahab do stoop under him. |
| 9:14 |
How much less shallwill I answer him, Andand choose out my words to reasonargue with him? |
| 9:15 |
Whom,Though though I were righteous, yet would I notwouldnt answer; him. I would make supplication to my judge. |
| 9:16 |
If I had called, and he had answered me, Yetyet would I notwouldnt believe that he hearkenedlistened untoto my voice. |
| 9:17 |
For he breakethbreaks me with a tempeststorm, Andand multipliethmultiplies my wounds without cause. |
| 9:18 |
He will not sufferallow me to takecatch my breath, Butbut fillethfills me with bitterness. |
| 9:19 |
If weit speakis a matter of strength, lobehold, he is mighty! AndIf if of justice, Who, saithsays he, will summon me? |
| 9:20 |
Though I beam righteous, minemy own mouth shallwill condemn me:. Though I beam perfectblameless, it shallwill prove me perverse. |
| 9:21 |
I am perfect;blameless. I regarddont notrespect myself;. I despise my life. |
| 9:22 |
It is all one;the thereforesame. Therefore I say, Hehe destroyethdestroys the perfectblameless and the wicked. |
| 9:23 |
If the scourge slaykills suddenly, Hehe will mock at the trial of the innocent. |
| 9:24 |
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;. He coverethcovers the faces of theits judges. thereof: If it be not he, then who then is it? |
| 9:25 |
Now my days are swifter than a post:runner. They flee away,. theyThey see no good. |
| 9:26 |

| 21:1 |
Then Job answered and said, |
| 21:2 |
HearListen diligently to my speech;. AndLet let this be your consolationsconsolation. |
| 21:3 |
SufferAllow me, and I also will speak;. AndAfter after that I have spoken, mock on. |

ThatHow often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, And as chaff that the storm carriethcarries away? |
| 21:19 |
YeYou say, God layethlays up his iniquity for his children. Let him recompense it untoto himself, that he may know it:. |
| 21:20 |
Let his own eyes see his destruction,. AndLet let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty. |

His pails are full of milk,. AndThe the marrow of his bones is moistened. |
| 21:25 |
AndAnother anotherdies dieth in bitterness of soul, Andand never tastethtastes of good. |
| 21:26 |
They lie down alike in the dust,. AndThe the worm coverethcovers them. |
| 21:27 |
Behold, I know your thoughts, And the devicesplans wherewithwith yewhich you would wrong me. |
| 21:28 |
For yeyou say, Where is the house of the prince? AndWhere where is the tent whereinin which the wicked dweltlived? |
| 21:29 |
HaveHavent yeyou not asked wayfaring men? AndDont doyou ye not know their evidences, |

| 21:34 |
HowSo thenhow can you comfort ye me inwith vainnonsense, Seeingbecause in your answers there remainethremains only falsehood? |
| 22:1 |
Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and saidanswered, |
| 22:2 |
Can a man be profitable untoto God? Surely he thatwho is wise is profitable untoto himself. |
| 22:3 |
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thouyou artare righteous? Or isdoes it gainbenefit to him, that thouyou makestmake thyyour ways perfect? |
| 22:4 |
Is it for thyyour fearpiety of him that he reprovethreproves theeyou, Thatthat he enterethenters with theeyou into judgment? |
| 22:5 |
IsIsnt notyour thy wickedness great? Neither is there any end to thineyour iniquities. |
| 22:6 |
For thouyou hasthave taken pledges offrom thyyour brother for noughtnothing, Andand stripped the naked of their clothing. |
| 22:7 |
ThouYou hasthavent not given water to the weary to drink, Andand thouyou hasthave withholdenwithheld bread from the hungry. |
| 22:8 |
But as for the mighty man, he had the earth;. AndThe the honorable man, he dweltlived in it. |
| 22:9 |
ThouYou hasthave sent widows away empty, Andand the arms of the fatherless have been broken. |
| 22:10 |
Therefore snares are roundaround aboutyou. thee,Sudden And sudden fear troublethtroubles theeyou, |

Oror darkness, so that thouyou canstcan not see, Andand abundancefloods of waters cover theeyou. |
| 22:12 |
IsIsnt not God in the heightheights of heaven? AndSee behold the height of the stars, how high they are! |
| 22:13 |
AndYou thou sayestsay, What dothdoes God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? |
| 22:14 |
Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he seethdoesnt not;see. AndHe hewalks walketh on the vault of heaventhe sky. |
| 22:15 |
WiltWill thouyou keep the old way, Whichwhich wicked men have trodden?, |
| 22:16 |
Whowho were snatched away before their time, Whosewhose foundation was poured out as a stream, |
| 22:17 |
Whowho said untoto God, Depart from us;! Andand, What can the Almighty do for us? |
| 22:18 |
Yet he filled their houses with good things:, Butbut the counsel of the wicked is far from me. |
| 22:19 |
The righteous see it, and are glad;. AndThe the innocent laughridicule them to scorn, |
| 22:20 |
Sayingsaying, Surely theythose thatwho didrose rise up against us are cut off,. AndThe thefire remnanthas ofconsumed themtheir the fire hath consumedremnant. |
| 22:21 |
Acquaint nowyourself thyself with him now, and be at peace:. TherebyBy it, good shallwill come untoto theeyou. |
| 22:22 |
Receive,Please Ireceive prayinstruction thee, the law from his mouth, Andand lay up his words in thyyour heart. |
| 22:23 |
If thouyou return to the Almighty, thouyou shaltwill be built up, Ifif thouyou put away unrighteousness far from thyyour tents. |
| 22:24 |
AndLay layyour thou thy treasure in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks;. |
| 22:25 |
AndThe the Almighty will be thyyour treasure, Andand precious silver untoto theeyou. |
| 22:26 |
For then shaltyou thouwill delight thyselfyourself in the Almighty, Andand shaltwill lift up thyyour face untoto God. |
| 22:27 |
ThouYou shaltwill make thyyour prayer untoto him, and he will hear thee;you. AndYou thouwill shalt pay thyyour vows. |
| 22:28 |
ThouYou shaltwill also decree a thing, and it shallwill be established untoto thee;you. AndLight lightwill shall shine uponon thyyour ways. |
| 22:29 |
When they cast thee down, thouyou shaltwill say, Therebe islifted lifting up;. AndHe will save the humble person he will save. |
| 22:30 |
He will even deliver even him thatwho is not innocent:. YeaYes, he shallwill be delivered through the cleanness of thyyour hands. |
| 23:1 |
Then Job answered and said, |
| 23:2 |
Even totoday day is my complaint is rebellious:. MyHis strokehand is heavierheavy thanin spite of my groaning. |
| 23:4 |
I would set my cause in order before him, Andand fill my mouth with arguments. |
| 23:5 |
I would know the words which he would answer me, Andand understand what he would saytell unto me. |
| 23:6 |
Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? Nay;No, but he would givelisten heedto unto me. |
| 23:7 |
There the upright might reason with him;, Soso I should I be delivered forforever ever from my judge. |
| 23:8 |

| 23:11 |
My foot hathhas held fast to his steps;. HisI way have Ikept kepthis way, and not turned not asideaway. |
| 23:12 |
I havehavent not gone back from the commandment of his lips;. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. |
| 23:13 |
But he isstands in one mindalone, and who can turnoppose him? AndWhat what his soul desirethdesires, even that he doethdoes. |
| 23:14 |
For he performethperforms that which is appointed for me:. AndMany many such things are with him. |
| 23:15 |
Therefore I am I terrified at his presence;. When I consider, I am afraid of him. |
| 23:16 |
For God hathhas made my heart faint,. AndThe the Almighty hathhas terrified me;. |
| 23:17 |
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, Neitherneither did he cover the thick darkness from my face. |
| 24:1 |
Why arearent times not laid up by the Almighty? AndWhy whydont dothose notwho they that know him see his days? |
| 24:2 |
There are thatpeople who remove the landmarks;. They violently take away flocks, and feed them. |

| 24:9 |
There are thatthose who pluck the fatherless from the breast, Andand take a pledge of the poor;, |

Soso that they go aboutaround naked without clothing,. AndBeing being hungry, they carry the sheaves. |
| 24:11 |
They make oil within the walls of these men;. They tread theirwine winepressespresses, and suffer thirst. |
| 24:12 |
From out of the populous city, men groan,. AndThe the soul of the wounded criethcries out:, Yetyet God regardethdoesnt notregard the folly. |
| 24:13 |
These are of themthose thatwho rebel against the light;. They dont know notits the ways thereof, Nornor abidestay in theits paths thereof. |
| 24:14 |
The murderer risethrises with the light;. He killethkills the poor and needy;. AndIn in the night he is aslike a thief. |
| 24:15 |
The eye also of the adulterer waitethwaits for the twilight, Sayingsaying, No eye shallwill see me:. AndHe hedisguises disguiseth his face. |
| 24:16 |
In the dark they dig through houses:. They shut themselves up in the daydaytime. time; They dont know not the light. |
| 24:17 |
For the morning is to all of them aslike thick darkness;, Forfor they know the terrors of the thick darkness. |
| 24:18 |
SwiftlyThey theyare passfoam awayon upon the facesurface of the waters;. Their portion is cursed in the earth:. They dont turn not into the way of the vineyards. |

The womb shallwill forget him;. The worm shallwill feed sweetly on him;. He shallwill be no more remembered;. AndUnrighteousness unrighteousnesswill shall be broken as a tree. |
| 24:21 |
He devourethdevours the barren thatwho bearethdont not, bear. AndHe doethshows notno goodkindness to the widow. |
| 24:22 |
Yet God preservethpreserves the mighty by his power:. He risethrises up thatwho hathhas no assurance of life. |
| 24:23 |
God givethgives them to be in security, and they rest thereon;in Andit. hisHis eyes are uponon their ways. |
| 24:24 |
They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone;. YeaYes, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all others, Andand are cut off as the tops of the ears of grain. |
| 24:25 |
AndIf if it beisnt not so now, who will prove me a liar, Andand make my speech worth nothing worth? |

How hasthave thouyou helped him thatwho is without power! How hasthave thouyou saved the arm that hathhas no strength! |
| 26:3 |
How hasthave thouyou counselledcounseled him thatwho hathhas no wisdom, Andand plentifully declared sound knowledge! |
| 26:4 |

| 27:6 |
My righteousness I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go:. My heart shallwill not reproach me so long as I live. |
| 27:7 |
Let minemy enemy be as the wicked,. AndLet let him thatwho risethrises up against me be as the unrighteous. |
| 27:8 |
For what is the hope of the godless, thoughwhen he getis himcut gainoff, Whenwhen God takethtakes away his soullife? |
| 27:9 |
Will God hear his cry, Whenwhen trouble comethcomes uponon him? |
| 27:10 |
Will he delight himself in the Almighty, Andand call uponon God at all times? |
| 27:11 |

Surely there is a mine for silver, Andand a place for gold which they refine. |
| 28:2 |
Iron is taken out of the earth, Andand copper is moltensmelted out of the stoneore. |
| 28:3 |
Man settethsets an end to darkness, Andand searchethsearches out, to the furthest bound, Thethe stones of obscurity and of thick darkness. |
| 28:4 |
He breakethbreaks open a shaft away from where menpeople sojourn;live. They are forgotten ofby the foot;. They hang afarfar from men, they swing toback and froforth. |
| 28:5 |
As for the earth, out of it comethcomes bread;. AndUnderneath underneath it is turned up as it were by fire. |

Seeing it is hidhidden from the eyes of all living, Andand kept close from the birds of the heavenssky. |
| 28:22 |
Destruction and Death say, We have heard a rumor thereofof it with our ears. |
| 28:23 |
God understandethunderstands theits way thereof, Andand he knowethknows theits place thereof. |

Thenthen did he seesaw it, and declaredeclared it;. He established it, yeayes, and searched it out. |
| 28:28 |
AndTo unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;. AndTo to depart from evil is understanding. |
| 29:1 |
And Job again took up his parable, and said, |
| 29:2 |
Oh that I were as in the months of old, Asas in the days when God watched over me; |
| 29:3 |
Whenwhen his lamp shinedshone uponon my head, Andand by his light I walked through darkness;, |
| 29:4 |
Asas I was in the ripeness of my daysprime, Whenwhen the friendship of God was uponin my tent;, |
| 29:5 |
Whenwhen the Almighty was yet with me, Andand my children were aboutaround me;, |
| 29:6 |
Whenwhen my steps were washed with butter, Andand the rock poured me out streams of oil! for me, |
| 29:7 |
Whenwhen I went forthout to the city gate unto the city, Whenwhen I prepared my seat in the street,. |
| 29:8 |
The young men saw me and hid themselves,. AndThe the aged rose up and stood;. |
| 29:9 |
The princes refrained from talking, Andand laid their hand on their mouth;. |
| 29:10 |
The voice of the nobles was hushed, Andand their tongue cleavedstuck to the roof of their mouth. |
| 29:11 |
For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me;, Andand when the eye saw me, it gavecommended witness unto me:, |
| 29:12 |
Becausebecause I delivered the poor thatwho cried, Theand the fatherless also, thatwho had noneno one to help him., |
| 29:13 |
Thethe blessing of him thatwho was ready to perish came uponon me;, Andand I caused the widows heart to sing for joy. |
| 29:14 |
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me:. My justice was as a robe and a diadem. |
| 29:15 |
I was eyes to the blind, Andand feet was I to the lame. |
| 29:16 |
I was a father to the needy:. AndI researched the cause of him thatwhom I knewdidnt not I searched outknow. |
| 29:17 |
And I brakebroke the jaws of the unrighteous, Andand plucked the prey out of his teeth. |
| 29:18 |
Then I said, I shallwill die in my nestown house, And I shallwill multiplycount my days as the sand:. |
| 29:19 |
My root is spread out to the waters,. AndThe the dew liethlies all night uponon my branch:. |
| 29:20 |
My glory is fresh in me,. AndMy my bow is renewed in my hand. |
| 29:21 |
UntoMen melistened mento gave earme, and waited, Andand kept silence for my counsel. |
| 29:22 |
After my words they spakedidnt notspeak again;. AndMy my speech distilledfell uponon them. |
| 29:23 |
AndThey they waited for me as for the rain;. AndTheir theymouths openeddrank their mouth wide as forwith the latterspring rain. |
| 29:24 |
I smiled on them, when they had no confidence;. AndThey didnt reject the light of my countenance they cast not downface. |
| 29:25 |
I chose out their way, and sat as chief,. AndI dweltlived as a king in the army, Asas one thatwho comfortethcomforts the mourners. |
| 30:1 |
But now theythose thatwho are younger than I have me in derision, Whosewhose fathers I disdainedconsidered unworthy to setput with themy sheep dogs of my flock. |
| 30:2 |
Yea,Of what use is the strength of their hands, wheretoto should it profit me?, Menmen in whom ripe age ishas perished.? |
| 30:3 |
They are gaunt withfrom wantlack and famine;. They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of wastenesswaste and desolation. |
| 30:4 |
They pluck salt wortherbs by the bushes;. AndThe the roots of the broom tree are their food. |
| 30:5 |
They are driven forthout from theamong midst of men;. They cry after them as after a thief;, |
| 30:6 |
Soso that they dwelllive in frightful valleys, Inand in holes of the earth and of the rocks. |
| 30:7 |
AmongThey the bushes they bray; Underamong the nettlesbushes. theyThey are gathered together under the nettles. |
| 30:8 |
They are children of fools, yeayes, children of basewicked men;. They were scourgedflogged out of the land. |
| 30:9 |
AndNow now I amhave become their song,. YeaYes, I am a byword untoto them. |
| 30:10 |
They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, Andand sparedont nothesitate to spit in my face. |
| 30:11 |
For he hathhas looseduntied his cord, and afflicted me; Andand they have castthrown off therestraint bridle before me. |
| 30:12 |
UponOn my right hand rise the rabble;. They thrust aside my feet,. AndThey they cast up against me their ways of destruction up against me. |
| 30:13 |
They mar my path,. They setpromote forward my calamity, destruction Evenwithout menanyones that have no helperhelp. |
| 30:14 |
As through a wide breach they come:. InThey theroll midstthemselves ofin amid the ruin they roll themselves upon me. |
| 30:15 |
Terrors arehave turned uponon me;. They chase minemy honor as the wind;. AndMy my welfare ishas passed away as a cloud. |
| 30:16 |
AndNow now my soul is poured out within me;. Days of affliction have taken hold uponof me. |
| 30:17 |
In the night season my bones are pierced in me, Andand the pains that gnaw me take no rest. |
| 30:18 |
ByMy Godsgarment greatis forcedisfigured isby mygreat garmentforce. disfigured; It bindethbinds me about as the collar of my coattunic. |
| 30:19 |
He hathhas cast me into the mire,. And I amhave become like dust and ashes. |
| 30:20 |
I cry untoto theeyou, and thouyou dostdo not answer me:. I stand up, and thouyou gazestgaze at me. |
| 30:21 |
ThouYou arthave turned to be cruel to me;. With the might of thyyour hand thouyou persecutestpersecute me. |
| 30:22 |
ThouYou liftestlift me up to the wind, thouand causestdrive me towith ride upon it;. AndYou thoudissolve dissolvest me in the storm. |
| 30:23 |
For I know that thouyou wiltwill bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living. |
| 30:24 |
HowbeitHowever dothdoesnt not one stretch out thea hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help? |
| 30:25 |
DidDidnt not I weep for him thatwho was in trouble? WasWasnt not my soul grieved for the needy? |
| 30:26 |
When I looked for good, then evil came;. AndWhen when I waited for light, theredarkness came darkness. |
| 30:27 |
My heart is troubled, and restethdoesnt not;rest. Days of affliction arehave come uponon me. |
| 30:28 |
I go mourning without the sun:. I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help. |
| 30:29 |
I am a brother to jackals, Andand a companion to ostriches. |
| 30:30 |
My skin isgrows black, and fallethpeels from me,. AndMy my bones are burned with heat. |
| 30:31 |
Therefore is my harp has turned to mourning, Andand my pipe into the voice of themthose thatwho weep. |
| 31:1 |
I made a covenant with minemy eyes; Howhow then should I look uponlustfully at a virginyoung woman? |
| 31:2 |
For what is the portion from God above, Andand the heritage from the Almighty on high? |
| 31:3 |
Is it not calamity to the unrighteous, Andand disaster to the workers of iniquity? |
| 31:4 |
DothDoesnt not he see my ways, Andand numbercount all my steps? |
| 31:5 |
If I have walked with falsehood, Andand my foot hathhas hastedhurried to deceit |
| 31:6 |
Letlet me be weighed in an even balance, Thatthat God may know minemy integrity; |
| 31:7 |
Ifif my step hathhas turned out of the way, Andif my heart walked after minemy eyes, And if any spotdefilement hathhas cleavedstuck to my hands:, |
| 31:8 |
Thenthen let me sow, and let another eat;. YeaYes, let the produce of my field be rooted out. |
| 31:9 |
If my heart hathhas been enticed untoto a woman, Andand I have laid wait at my neighbors door;, |
| 31:10 |
Thenthen let my wife grind untofor another, Andand let others bowsleep downwith upon her. |
| 31:11 |
For that werewould be a heinous crime;. YeaYes, it werewould be an iniquity to be punished by the judges:, |
| 31:12 |
Forfor it is a fire that consumethconsumes untoto Destructiondestruction, Andand would root out all minemy increase. |
| 31:13 |
If I have despised the cause of my manmale servant or of my maidfemale servant, Whenwhen they contended with me;, |
| 31:14 |
Whatwhat then shallwill I do when God risethrises up? AndWhen when he visitethvisits, what shallwill I answer him? |
| 31:15 |
DidDidnt not he thatwho made me in the womb make him? AndDidnt did not one fashion us in the womb? |
| 31:16 |
If I have withheld the poor from their desire, Oror have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, |
| 31:17 |
Oror have eaten my morsel alone, Andand the fatherless hathhas not eaten thereofof it |
| 31:18 |
Nayno, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, AndI her have I guided her from my mothers womb; |
| 31:19 |
Ifif I have seen any perish for want of clothing, Oror that the needy had no covering; |
| 31:20 |
Ifif his loinsheart havehasnt not blessed me, And if he hathhasnt not been warmed with themy sheeps fleece of my sheep; |
| 31:21 |
Ifif I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, Becausebecause I saw my help in the gate:; |
| 31:22 |
Thenthen let my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, Andand minemy arm be broken from the bone. |
| 31:23 |
For calamity from God is a terror to me,. AndBecause by reason of his majesty, I can do nothing. |
| 31:24 |
If I have made gold my hope, Andand have said to the fine gold, ThouYou artare my confidence; |
| 31:25 |
If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, Andand because my hand had gotten much; |
| 31:26 |
Ifif I have beheldseen the sun when it shined, Oror the moon walkingmoving in brightnesssplendor, |
| 31:27 |
Andand my heart hathhas been secretly enticed, Andand my mouthhand haththrew kisseda kiss from my hand:mouth; |
| 31:28 |
Thisthis also werewould be an iniquity to be punished by the judges;, Forfor I shouldwould have denied the God thatwho is above. |
| 31:29 |
If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him thatwho hated me, Oror lifted up myself when evil found him |
| 31:30 |
Yea, I have certainly not sufferedallowed my mouth to sin Byby asking his life with a curse; |
| 31:31 |
Ifif the men of my tent have not said, Who can find one thatwho hathhas not been filled with his meat? |
| 31:32 |
Thethe sojournerforeigner hathhas not lodgedcamped in the street;, Butbut I have opened my doors to the travellertraveler; |
| 31:33 |
Ifif like Adam I have covered my transgressions, Byby hiding minemy iniquity in my bosomheart, |
| 31:34 |
Becausebecause I feared the great multitude, Andand the contempt of families terrified me, Soso that I kept silence, and wentdidnt notgo out of the door— |
| 31:35 |
Ohoh that I had one to hear me! LoBehold, here is my signature,! letLet the Almighty answer me! AndLet thatthe Iaccuser hadwrite themy indictment which mine adversary hath written! |
| 31:36 |
Surely I would carry it uponon my shoulder;, and I would bind it untoto me as a crown:. |
| 31:37 |
I would declare untoto him the number of my steps;. AsI a prince would I go near untoto him like a prince. |
| 31:38 |
If my land criethcries out against me, Andand theits furrows thereof weep together; |
| 31:39 |
Ifif I have eaten theits fruits thereof without money, Oror have caused theits owners thereof to lose their life:, |
| 31:40 |
Letlet thistlesbriers grow instead of wheat, Andand cocklestinkweed instead of barley. The words of Job are ended. |
| 32:2 |
Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram:, was kindled against Job. wasHis his wrath was kindled, because he justified himself rather than God. |
| 32:3 |
Also against his threewrath friends was kindled against his wraththree kindledfriends, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job. |
| 32:4 |
Now Elihu had waited to speak untoto Job, because they were elderolder than he. |
| 32:5 |
AndWhen when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled. |
| 32:6 |
And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and yeyou are very old;. WhereforeTherefore I held back, and durstdidnt notdare show you minemy opinion. |
| 32:7 |
I said, Days should speak, Andand multitude of years should teach wisdom. |
| 32:8 |
But there is a spirit in man, Andand the breathSpirit of the Almighty givethgives them understanding. |
| 32:9 |
It is not the great thatwho are wise, Nornor the aged thatwho understand justice. |
| 32:10 |
Therefore I said, HearkenListen to me; I also will show minemy opinion. |
| 32:11 |
Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoningsreasoning, Whilstwhile yeyou searched out what to say. |
| 32:12 |
YeaYes, I attendedgave unto you, And,my beholdfull attention, but there was noneno thatone who convinced Job, Oror thatwho answered his words, among you. |
| 32:13 |
Beware lest yeyou say, We have found wisdom;. God may vanquishrefute him, not man:; |
| 32:14 |
Forfor he hathhas not directed his words against me; Neitherneither will I answer him with your speeches. |
| 32:15 |
They are amazed,. theyThey answer no more:. They dont have not a word to say. |
| 32:16 |
AndShall shall I wait, because they dont speak not, Becausebecause they stand still, and answer no more? |
| 32:17 |
I also will answer my part, and I also will show minemy opinion. |
| 32:18 |
For I am full of words;. The spirit within me constrainethconstrains me. |
| 32:19 |
Behold, my breast is as wine which hathhas no vent; Likelike new winewineskins skins it is ready to burst. |
| 32:20 |
I will speak, that I may be refreshed;. I will open my lips and answer. |
| 32:21 |
LetPlease medont not,let Ime pray you, respect any mans person;, Neitherneither will I give flattering titles untoto any man. |
| 32:22 |
For I dont know nothow to give flattering titles;, Elseor wouldelse my Maker would soon take me away. |
| 33:1 |
HowbeitHowever, Job, Iplease pray thee, hear my speech, Andand hearkenlisten to all my words. |
| 33:2 |
BeholdSee now, I have opened my mouth;. My tongue hathhas spoken in my mouth. |
| 33:3 |
My words shallwill utter the uprightness of my heart;. AndThat that which my lips know they shallwill speak sincerely. |
| 33:4 |
The Spirit of God hathhas made me, Andand the breath of the Almighty givethgives me life. |
| 33:5 |
If thouyou canstcan, answer thou me;. Set thyyour words in order before me, and stand forthup. |
| 33:6 |
Behold, I am toward God even as thouyou art:are. I am also am formed out of the clay. |
| 33:7 |
Behold, my terror shallwill not make theeyou afraid, Neitherneither shallwill my pressure be heavy uponon theeyou. |
| 33:8 |
Surely thouyou hasthave spoken in my hearing, And I have heard the voice of thyyour words, saying, |
| 33:9 |
I am clean, without transgression;disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:. |
| 33:10 |
Behold, he findethfinds occasions against me,. He countethcounts me for his enemy;. |
| 33:11 |
He puttethputs my feet in the stocks,. He markethmarks all my paths. |
| 33:12 |
Behold, I will answer thee, you. inIn this thouyou artare not just;, Forfor God is greater than man. |
| 33:13 |
Why dostdo thouyou strive against him, Forbecause that he givethdoesnt notgive account of any of his matters? |
| 33:14 |
For God speakethspeaks once, Yeayes twice, though man regardethpays itno notattention. |
| 33:15 |
In a dream, in a vision of the night, Whenwhen deep sleep fallethfalls uponon men, Inin slumberingsslumbering uponon the bed;, |
| 33:16 |
Thenthen he openethopens the ears of men, Andand sealethseals their instruction, |
| 33:17 |
Thatthat he may withdraw man from his purpose, Andand hide pride from man;. |
| 33:18 |
He keepethkeeps back his soul from the pit, Andand his life from perishing by the sword. |
| 33:19 |
He is chastened also with pain uponon his bed, And with continual strife in his bones;, |
| 33:20 |
Soso that his life abhorrethabhors bread, Andand his soul dainty food. |
| 33:21 |
His flesh is so consumed away, that it cannotcant be seen;. AndHis his bones that were not seen stick out. |
| 33:22 |
YeaYes, his soul drawethdraws near untoto the pit, Andand his life to the destroyers. |
| 33:23 |
If there beis withbeside him an angel, Anan interpreter, one among a thousand, Toto show untoto man what is right for him;, |
| 33:24 |
Thenthen God is gracious untoto him, and saithsays, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. |
| 33:25 |
His flesh shallwill be fresher than a childs;. He returnethreturns to the days of his youth. |
| 33:26 |
He prayethprays untoto God, and he is favorable untoto him, Soso that he seethsees his face with joy:. AndHe herestores restorethto unto man his righteousness. |
| 33:27 |
He singethsings before men, and saithsays, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, Andand it profiteddidnt profit me not:. |
| 33:28 |
He hathhas redeemed my soul from going into the pit,. AndMy my life shallwill beholdsee the light. |
| 33:29 |
LoBehold, God does all these things doth God work, Twicetwice, yeayes thricethree times, with a man, |
| 33:30 |
Toto bring back his soul from the pit, Thatthat he may be enlightened with the light of the living. |
| 33:31 |
Mark well, O Job, hearkenand untolisten to me:. Hold thyyour peace, and I will speak. |
| 33:32 |
If thouyou hasthave anything to say, answer me:. Speak, for I desire to justify theeyou. |
| 33:33 |
If not, hearkenlisten thouto unto me:. Hold thyyour peace, and I will teach theeyou wisdom. |
| 34:1 |
Moreover Elihu answered and said, |
| 34:2 |
Hear my words, yeyou wise men;. AndGive give ear untoto me, yeyou thatwho have knowledge. |
| 34:3 |
For the ear triethtries words, Asas the palate tastethtastes food. |
| 34:4 |
Let us choose for us that which is right:. Let us know among ourselves what is good. |
| 34:5 |
For Job hathhas said, I am righteous, And God hathhas taken away my right:. |
| 34:6 |
Notwithstanding my right I am accountedconsidered a liar;. My wound is incurable, though I am without transgressiondisobedience. |
| 34:7 |
What man is like Job, Whowho drinkethdrinks upscorn scoffing like water, |
| 34:8 |
Whowho goethgoes in company with the workers of iniquity, Andand walkethwalks with wicked men? |
| 34:9 |
For he hathhas said, It profitethprofits a man nothing Thatthat he should delight himself with God. |
| 34:10 |
Therefore hearkenlisten untoto me, yeyou men of understanding: Farfar be it from God, that he should do wickedness, And from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity. |
| 34:11 |
For the work of a man he will he render untoto him, Andand cause every man to find according to his ways. |
| 34:12 |
Yea,Yes of a suretysurely, God will not do wickedly, Neitherneither will the Almighty pervert justice. |
| 34:13 |
Who gaveput him ain charge overof the earth? Or who hathhas disposedappointed him over the whole world? |
| 34:14 |
If he set his heart uponon himself, Ifif he gathergathered untoto himself his spirit and his breath;, |
| 34:15 |
Allall flesh shallwould perish together, Andand man shallwould turn again untoto dust. |
| 34:16 |
If now thouyou hasthave understanding, hear this:. HearkenListen to the voice of my words. |
| 34:17 |
ShallShould even one thatwho hatethhates justice govern? AndWill wiltyou thou condemn him thatwho is righteous and mighty?—, |
| 34:18 |
Himwho thatsays saith to a king, ThouVile! artor vile, Or to nobles, Ye are wicked;Wicked!? |
| 34:19 |
ThatHe respectethdoesnt notrespect the persons of princes, Nornor regardethrespect the rich more than the poor;, Forfor they all are the work of his hands. |
| 34:20 |
In a moment they die, even at midnight;. The people are shaken and pass away,. AndThe the mighty are taken away without a hand. |
| 34:21 |
For his eyes are uponon the ways of a man,. AndHe hesees seeth all his goings. |
| 34:22 |
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, Wherewhere the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. |
| 34:23 |
For he needethdoesnt notneed further to consider a man further, Thatthat he should go before God in judgment. |
| 34:24 |
He breakethbreaks in pieces mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, Andand settethsets others in their steadplace. |
| 34:25 |
Therefore he takethtakes knowledge of their works;. AndHe heoverturns overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed. |
| 34:26 |
He strikethstrikes them as wicked men Inin the open sight of others; |
| 34:27 |
Becausebecause they turned asideaway from following him, Andand wouldwouldnt notpay haveattention regardto in any of his ways:, |
| 34:28 |
Soso that they caused the cry of the poor to come untoto him,. AndHe he heard the cry of the afflicted. |
| 34:29 |
When he givethgives quietness, who then can condemn? AndWhen when he hidethhides his face, who then can beholdsee him? AlikeHe whetheris itover be done unto a nation, or unto a man: alike, |
| 34:30 |
Thatthat the godless man reignmay not reign, Thatthat there be noneno one to ensnare the people. |
| 34:31 |
For hathhas any said untoto God, I haveam borne chastisementguilty, but I will not offend any more:. |
| 34:32 |
ThatTeach me that which I dont see. not teach thou me: If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more? |
| 34:33 |
Shall his recompense be as thouyou wiltdesire, that thouyou refusestrefuse it? For thouyou must choose, and not I:. Therefore speak what thouyou knowestknow. |
| 34:34 |
Men of understanding will saytell unto me, Yeayes, every wise man thatwho hearethhears me: |
| 34:35 |
Job speakethspeaks without knowledge,. AndHis his words are without wisdom. |
| 34:36 |
WouldI wish that Job were tried untoto the end, Becausebecause of his answering like wicked men. |
| 34:37 |
For he addethadds rebellion untoto his sin;. He clappethclaps his hands among us, Andand multipliethmultiplies his words against God. |
| 35:1 |
Moreover Elihu answered and said, |
| 35:2 |
ThinkestDo thouyou think this to be thyyour right, Oror sayestdo thouyou say, My righteousness is more than Gods, |
| 35:3 |
Thatthat thouyou sayestask, What advantage will it be untoto theeyou? And, What profit shallwill I have, more than if I had sinned? |
| 35:4 |
I will answer theeyou, Andand thyyour companions with theeyou. |
| 35:5 |
Look untoto the heavensskies, and see;. AndSee behold the skies, which are higher than thouyou. |
| 35:6 |
If thouyou hasthave sinned, what effectesteffect thoudo you have against him? AndIf ifyour thy transgressions beare multiplied, what doestdo thouyou untodo to him? |
| 35:7 |
If thouyou beare righteous, what givestdo thouyou give him? Or what receivethdoes he ofreceive thyfrom your hand? |
| 35:8 |
