Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? forFor they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger:. andBehold, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
8:18 Therefore I will I also deal in wrath;. mineMy eye shallwont not spare, neither will I have pity;. andThough though they cry in minemy ears with a loud voice, yet I will I not hear them.
9:1 Then he cried in minemy ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause yethose themwho thatare havein charge overof the city to draw near, everyeach man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
9:2 And beholdBehold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which liethlies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand;. andOne one man in the midstmiddle of them was clothed in linen, with a writers inkhorn by his side. AndThey they went in, and stood beside the brazenbronze altar.
9:3 AndThe the glory of the God of Israel waswent gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house:; and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writers inkhorn by his side.
9:4 AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto him, Go through the midstmiddle of the city, through the midstmiddle of Jerusalem, and set a mark uponon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done inwithin the midst thereofit.
9:5 AndTo to the others he said in my hearing, Go ye through the city after him, and smite:strike. Dont let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity;.
9:6 slayKill utterly the old man, the young man, and the virgin, and little children and women; but dont come not near any man uponon whom is the mark:. andBegin begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the old men thatwho were before the house.
9:7 AndHe he said untoto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain:. goGo yeout! forth. They And they went forthout, and smotestruck in the city.
9:8 AndWhile it came to pass, while they were smitingkilling, and I was left, that I fell uponon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord JehovahYahweh! wiltWill thouyou destroy all the residue of Israel in thyyour pouring out of thyyour wrath uponon Jerusalem?
9:9 Then he said heto unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingexceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wrestingperversion; of judgment: for they say, JehovahYahweh hathhas forsaken the land, and JehovahYahweh seethdoesnt notsee.
9:10 AndAs as for me also, minemy eye shallwont not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way uponon their head.
9:11 AndBehold, behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thouyou hasthave commanded me.
10:1 Then I looked, and, beholdsee, in the firmamentexpanse that was over the head of the cherubim there appeared above them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
10:2 AndHe hespoke spaketo unto the man clothed in linen, and said, Go in between the whirling wheels, even under the cherub, and fill both thyyour hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter them over the city. AndHe he went in inas myI sightwatched.
10:3 Now the cherubim stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
10:4 AndYahwehs the glory of Jehovah mounted up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of JehovahsYahwehs glory.
10:5 AndThe the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of God Almighty when he speakethspeaks.
10:6 AndIt it came to pass, when he commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim, that he went in, and stood beside a wheel.
10:7 AndThe the cherub stretched forthout his hand from between the cherubim untoto the fire that was between the cherubim, and took thereofsome of it, and put it into the hands of him thatwho was clothed in linen, who took it and went out.
10:8 AndThe thereform appearedof ina themans cherubimhand theappeared formhere ofin athe manscherubim hand under their wings.
10:9 And I looked, and behold, there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub, and another wheel beside another cherub;. andThe the appearance of the wheels was like unto a beryl stone.
10:10 AndAs as for their appearance, theythe four of them had one likeness, aslike if a wheel had been within a wheel.
10:11 When they went, they went in their four directions:. theyThey turneddidnt notturn as they went, but to the place whitherwhere the head looked they followed it;. theyThey turneddidnt notturn as they went.
10:12 AndTheir their whole body, andincluding their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes roundall aboutaround, even the wheels that theythe four of them had.
10:13 As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing, the whirling wheels.
10:14 AndEvery every one of them had four faces:. theThe first face was the face of the cherub,. andThe the second face was the face of a man,. andThe the third face was the face of a lion,. andThe the fourth was the face of an eagle.
10:15 AndThe the cherubim mounted up:. thisThis is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.
10:16 AndWhen when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels also turneddidnt notturn from beside them.
10:17 When they stood, these stood;. andWhen when they mounted up, these mounted up with them:; for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
10:18 AndYahwehs the glory of Jehovah went forthout from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.
10:19 AndThe the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went forthout, andwith the wheels beside them:. andThen they stood at the door of the east gate of JehovahsYahwehs house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
10:21 Every one had four faces, and every one four wings;. andThe the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.
10:22 AndAs as for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves;. theyThey each went every one straight forward.
11:1 Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me untoto the east gate of JehovahsYahwehs house, which lookethlooks eastward:. and beholdBehold, twenty five men were at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw inamong the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.
11:2 AndHe he said untoto me, Son of man, these are the men thatwho devise iniquity, and thatwho give wicked counsel in this city;
11:3 thatwho say, The time is not near to build houses:. thisThis city is the caldroncauldron, and we are the fleshmeat.
11:4 Therefore prophesy against them,. prophesyProphesy, O son of man.
11:5 AndYahwehs the Spirit of Jehovah fell uponon me, and he said untoto me, Speak, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays: Thus you have ye said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.
11:6 YeYou have multiplied your slain in this city, and yeyou have filled theits streets thereof with the slain.
11:7 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Your slain whom yeyou have laid in the midstmiddle of it, they are the fleshmeat, and this city is the caldroncauldron; but yeyou shallwill be brought forth out of the midstmiddle of it.
11:8 YeYou have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword uponon you, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
11:9 And I will bring you forth out of the midstmiddle thereofof it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
11:10 YeYou shallwill fall by the sword;. I will judge you in the border of Israel;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
11:11 This citywill shall not be your caldroncauldron, neither shallwill yeyou be the fleshmeat in the midstmiddle thereof;of it. I will judge you in the border of Israel;.
11:12 andYou yewill shall know that I am Jehovah:Yahweh, for yeyou have not walked in my statutes,. neitherYou have yenot executed minemy ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are roundaround about you.
11:13 AndWhen it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell I down uponon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord JehovahYahweh! wiltWill thouyou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?
11:14 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
11:15 Son of man, thyyour brethrenbrothers, even thyyour brethrenbrothers, the men of thyyour kindredrelatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are theythe untoones to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, GetGo you far away from Jehovah;Yahweh. untoThis usland ishas thisbeen land given to us for a possession.
11:16 Therefore say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they arehave come.
11:17 Therefore say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where yeyou have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
11:18 AndThey theywill shall come thitherthere, and they shallwill take away all theits detestable things thereof and all theits abominations thereof from thencethere.
11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you;them. and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;,
11:20 that they may walk in my statutes, and keep minemy ordinances, and do them:. andThey theywill shall be my people, and I will be their God.
11:21 But as for them whose heart walkethwalks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way uponon their own heads, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
11:22 Then did the cherubim liftlifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them;. andThe the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
11:23 AndYahwehs the glory of Jehovah went up from the midstmiddle of the city, and stood uponon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
11:24 AndThe the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivitycaptives. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
11:25 Then I spakespoke untoto them of the captivitycaptives all the things that JehovahYahweh had showedshown me.
12:1 TheYahwehs word of Jehovah also came untoto me, saying,
12:2 Son of man, thouyou dwellestdwell in the midstmiddle of the rebellious house, thatwho have eyes to see, and dont see not, thatwho have ears to hear, and dont hear not; for they are a rebellious house.
12:3 Therefore, thouyou son of man, prepare theeyour stuffbaggage for removingmoving, and removemove by day in their sight;. andYou thoushall shaltmove remove from thyyour place to another place in their sight:. itIt may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.
12:4 AndYou thoushall shalt bring forthout thyyour stuffbaggage by day in their sight, as stuffbaggage for removing;moving. andYou thoushall shalt go forthout thyselfyourself at evenevening in their sight, as when men go forthout into exile.
12:5 Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry your baggage out therebythat way.
12:6 In their sight shaltyou thoushall bear it uponon thyyour shoulder, and carry it forthout in the dark;. thouYou shaltshall cover thyyour face, so that thouyou dont see not the land:, for I have set theeyou for a sign untoto the house of Israel.
12:7 And I did so as I was commanded:. I brought forthout my stuffbaggage by day, as stuffbaggage for removingmoving, and in the evenevening I diggeddug through the wall with my hand;. I brought it forthout in the dark, and barebore it uponon my shoulder in their sight.
12:8 AndIn in the morning, cameYahwehs the word ofcame Jehovahto unto me, saying,
12:9 Son of man, hathhasnt not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said untoto theeyou, What doestare thouyou doing?
12:10 Say thouto unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: This burden concernethconcerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.
12:11 Say, I am your sign:. likeAs as I have done, so shallwill it be done untoto them;. theyThey shallwill go into exile, into captivity.
12:12 AndThe the prince thatwho is among them shallwill bear uponhis baggage on his shoulder in the dark, and shallwill go forth:out. theyThey shallwill dig through the wall to carry things out thereby:that heway. shallHe will cover his face, because he shallwill not see the land with his eyes.
12:13 MyI netwill also willspread Imy spreadnet uponon him, and he shallwill be taken in my snare;. and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he will not see it, though he shallwill die there.
12:14 And I will scatter toward every wind all thatwho are roundaround about him to help him, and all his bands;. and I will draw out the sword after them.
12:15 AndThey theywill shall know that I am Jehovah,Yahweh when I shall disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.
12:16 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence;, that they may declare all their abominations among the nations whitherwhere they come;. andThen they shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
12:17 Moreover theYahwehs word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
12:18 Son of man, eat thyyour bread with quaking, and drink thyyour water with trembling and with fearfulness;.
12:19 andTell say unto the people of the land, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lordsays Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel: They shallwill eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, and despoiled of all that is therein, because of the violence of all themthose thatwho dwell therein.
12:20 AndThe the cities that are inhabited shallwill be laid waste, and the land shallwill be a desolation;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
12:21 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
12:22 Son of man, what is this proverb that yeyou have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision failethfails?
12:23 Tell them therefore, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shallwill no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but saytell unto them, The days are at hand, and the fulfilmentfulfillment of every vision.
12:24 For there shallwill be no more any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
12:25 For I am Jehovah;Yahweh. I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shallwill be performed;. itIt shallwill be no more deferred:; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will I speak the word, and will perform it, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
12:26 Again theYahwehs word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
12:27 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seethsees is for many days to come, and he prophesiethprophesies of times that are far off.
12:28 Therefore saytell unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: ThereNone shall none of my words will be deferred any more, but the word which I shall speak shallwill be performed, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
13:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
13:2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel thatwho prophesy, and say thouto untothose themwho that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear yeYahwehs the word of Jehovah:
13:3 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays, Woe untoto the foolish prophets, thatwho follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
13:4 O Israel, thyyour prophets have been like foxes in the waste places.
13:5 YeYou have not gone up into the gaps, neitheror built up the wall for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in theYahwehs day of Jehovah.
13:6 They have seen falsehood and lying divination, thatwho say, JehovahYahweh saithsays; but JehovahYahweh hathhas not sent them:. andThey they have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.
13:7 HaveHavent yeyou not seen a false vision, and havehavent yeyou not spoken a lying divination, in that yeyou say, JehovahYahweh saithsays; albeitbut I have not spoken?
13:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Because yeyou have spoken falsehood, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
13:9 AndMy my hand shallwill be against the prophets thatwho see false visions, and thatwho divineutter lies:lying theydivinations. shallThey will not be in the council of my people, neither shallwill they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shallwill they enter into the land of Israel;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am the Lord JehovahYahweh.
13:10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there is no peace;. andWhen when one buildethbuilds up a wall, behold, they daubplaster it with untempered mortar:whitewash.
13:11 sayTell untothose themwho thatplaster daub it with untemperedwhitewash mortar, that it shallwill fall:. thereThere shallwill be an overflowing shower; and yeyou, O great hailstones, shallwill fall;. andA a stormy wind shallwill rendtear it.
13:12 LoBehold, when the wall ishas fallen, shallwont it not be said untoto you, Where is the daubingplaster wherewithwith yewhich you have daubedplastered it?
13:13 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: I will even rendtear it with a stormy wind in my wrath;. andThere therewill shall be an overflowing shower in minemy anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it.
13:14 So I will I break down the wall that yeyou have daubedplastered with untempered mortarwhitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that theits foundation thereofwill shall be uncovered;. andIt itwill shall fall, and yeyou shallwill be consumed in the midstmiddle thereof:of andit. yeThen shallyou will know that I am JehovahYahweh.
13:15 Thus I will I accomplish my wrath uponon the wall, and uponon themthose thatwho have daubedplastered it with untemperedwhitewash. mortar; and I will saytell unto you, The wall is no more, neithernor theythose thatwho daubedplastered it;—
13:16 to wit, the prophets of Israel thatwho prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and thatwho see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
13:17 And thouYou, son of man, set thyyour face against the daughters of thyyour people, thatwho prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,
13:18 and say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Woe to the women thatwho sew pillowsmagic uponbands on all elbows, and make kerchiefsveils for the head of persons of every stature to hunt souls! Will yeyou hunt the souls of my people, and save souls alive for yourselves?
13:19 AndYou ye have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slaykill the souls thatwho should not die, and to save the souls alive thatwho should not live, by your lying to my people thatwho hearkenlisten untoto lies.
13:20 WhereforeTherefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Behold, I am against your pillowsmagic bands, wherewithwith yewhich thereyou hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms;. and I will let the souls gofly free, even the souls thatwhom yeyou huntensnare tolike make them flybirds.
13:21 YourI kerchiefswill also willtear Iyour tear, veils and deliver my people out of your hand,; and they shallwill be no morelonger be in your hand to be hunted;ensnared. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
13:22 Because with lies yeyou have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad,; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive;.
13:23 thereforeTherefore yeyou shall no more see false visions, nor divinepractice divinations:divination. and I will deliver my people out of your hand;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
14:1 Then camesome certain of the elders of Israel untocame to me, and sat before me.
14:2 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
14:3 Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their heart, and put the stumblingblockstumbling block of their iniquity before their face:. shouldShould I be inquired of at all by them?
14:4 Therefore speak untoto them, and saytell unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Every man of the house of Israel thatwho takethtakes his idols into his heart, and puttethputs the stumblingblockstumbling block of his iniquity before his face, andthen comethcomes to the prophet;, I JehovahYahweh will answer him thereinthere according to the multitude of his idols;,
14:6 Therefore saytell unto the house of Israel, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols;! andTurn turn away your faces from all your abominations.
14:7 For everyeveryone one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers thatwho sojournlive in Israel, thatwho separatethseparates himself from me, and takethtakes his idols into his heart, and puttethputs the stumblingblockstumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comethcomes to the prophet to inquire for himself of me;, I JehovahYahweh will answer him by myself:.
14:8 and I will set my face against that man, and will make him an astonishment, for a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from theamong midst of my people;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
14:9 AndIf if the prophet beis deceived and speakspeaks a word, I, JehovahYahweh, have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand uponon him, and will destroy him from theamong midst of my people Israel.
14:10 AndThey theywill shall bear their iniquity:. theThe iniquity of the prophet shallwill be even as the iniquity of him thatwho seekethseeks unto him;,
14:11 that the house of Israel may go no more go astray from me, neither defile themselves any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
14:12 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
14:13 Son of man, when a land sinnethsins against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand uponon it, and break the staff of theits bread thereof, and send famine uponon it, and cut off from it man and beast;animal—
14:14 though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they shouldwould deliver butonly their own souls by their righteousness, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
14:15 If I cause evil beastsanimals to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it beis made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the beasts;animals—
14:16 though these three men were in it, as I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, they shouldwould deliver neither sons nor daughters;. theyThey only shouldwould be delivered, but the land shouldwould be desolate.
14:17 Or if I bring a sword uponon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land;, so that I cut off from it man and beast;animal—
14:18 though these three men were in it, as I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, they shouldwould deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shouldwould be delivered themselves.
14:19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath uponon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast;animal—
14:20 though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, they shouldwould deliver neither son nor daughter; they shouldwould but deliver only their own souls by their righteousness.
14:21 For thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: How much more when I send my four soresevere judgments uponon Jerusalem, —the sword, and the famine, and the evil beastsanimals, and the pestilence, —to cut off from it man and beastanimal!
14:22 Yet, behold, thereinthere shallwill be left a remnant in it that shallwill be carried forthout, both sons and daughters:. beholdBehold, they shallwill come forthout untoto you, and yeyou shallwill see their way and their doings;. andThen yeyou shallwill be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought uponon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought uponon it.
14:23 AndThey theywill shall comfort you, when yeyou see their way and their doings; andthen yeyou shallwill know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it without cause, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
15:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
15:3 ShallWill wood be taken thereofof it to make any workanything? orWill will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereonon it?
15:4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hathhas devoured both theits ends of it, and the midstmiddle of it is burned:. isIs it profitable for any work?
15:5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meetsuitable for no work:. howHow much less, when the fire hathhas devoured it, and it ishas been burned, shallwill it yet be meetsuitable for any work!?
15:6 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: As the vine treewood among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15:7 And I will set my face against them;. theyThey shallwill go forthout from the fire, but the fire shallwill still devour them;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh, when I set my face against them.
15:8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have committedacted a trespassunfaithfully, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
16:1 Again theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
16:3 and say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lordsays Jehovahto unto Jerusalem: ThyYour birthorigin and thyyour nativitybirth is of the land of the Canaanite;. theAn Amorite was thyyour father, and thyyour mother was a Hittite.
16:4 AndAs as for thyyour nativitybirth, in the day thouyou wastwere born thyyour navel was not cut,. neitherYou wastwerent thou washed in water to cleanse thee;you. thouYou wastwerent not salted at all, nor swaddledwrapped in blankets at all.
16:5 No eye pitied theeyou, to do any of these things untoto theeyou, to have compassion uponon theeyou; but thouyou wastwere cast out in the open field, forbecause thatyou thywere person was abhorred, in the day that thouyou wastwere born.
16:6 AndWhen when I passed by theeyou, and saw theeyou welteringwallowing in thyyour blood, I said untoto theeyou, Though thouyou artare in thyyour blood, live;! yeaYes, I said untoto theeyou, Though thouyou artare in thyyour blood, live.!
16:7 I caused theeyou to multiply as that which growethgrows in the field, and thouyou didstincreased increase and waxgrew great, and thouyou attainedstattained to excellent ornament;beauty. thyYour breasts were fashionedformed, and thyyour hair was growngrew; yet thouyou wastwere naked and bare.
16:8 Now when I passed by theeyou, and looked uponat theeyou, behold, thyyour time was the time of love; and I spread my skirtgarment over thee, you and covered thyyour nakedness:. yeaYes, I swarepledged untomyself thee,to you and entered into a covenant with theeyou, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, and thouyou becamestbecame mine.
16:9 Then I washed Iyou thee with water;. yeaYes, I thoroughly washed away thyyour blood from theeyou, and I anointed theeyou with oil.
16:10 I clothed theeyou also with broideredembroidered work, and shodput theeleather withsandals sealskin,on andyou. I girdeddressed theeyou about with fine linen, and covered theeyou with silk.
16:11 And I decked theeyou with ornaments, and I put bracelets uponon thyyour hands, and put a chain on thyyour neck.
16:12 And I put a ring uponon thyyour nose, andearrings ear rings in thineyour ears, and a beautiful crown uponon thyyour head.
16:13 Thus wastyou thouwere decked with gold and silver;. andYour thyclothing raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broideredembroidered work;. thouYou didstate eat fine flour, and honey, and oil;. andYou thouwere wastexceedingly exceeding beautiful, and thouyou didstprospered prosperto unto royal estate.
16:14 AndYour thy renown went forthout among the nations for thyyour beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put uponon theeyou, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
16:15 But thouyou didsttrusted trust in thyyour beauty, and playedstplayed the harlotprostitute because of thyyour renown, and pouredstpoured out thyyour whoredomsprostitution on everyeveryone onewho that passed by;. hisIt itwas washis.
16:16 AndYou thoutook didstsome take of thyyour garments, and madestmade for theeyourselves high places decked with diversvarious colors, and playedstplayed the harlotprostitute uponon them:. theThis likeshouldnt things shall not comehappen, neither shall it be so.
16:17 ThouYou didst also taketook thyyour fairbeautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given theeyou, and madestmade for theeyourself images of men, and didstplayed play the harlotprostitute with them;.
16:18 andYou thoutook tookestyour thyembroidered broidered garments, andcovered coveredst them, and didst set minemy oil and minemy incense before them.
16:19 My bread also which I gave theeyou, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewithwith which I fed theeyou, thouyou didst even set it before them for a sweetpleasant savoraroma; and thusso it was, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
16:20 Moreover thouyou hasthave taken thyyour sons and thyyour daughters, whom thouyou hasthave borne untoto me, and theseyou hasthave thou sacrificed untothese to them to be devoured. WereWas thyyour whoredomsprostitution a small matter,
16:21 that thouyou hasthave slain my children, and delivered them up, in causing them to pass through the fire untoto them?
16:22 AndIn in all thineyour abominations and thyyour whoredomsprostitution thouyou hasthave not remembered the days of thyyour youth, when thouyou wastwere naked and bare, and wastwere welteringwallowing in thyyour blood.
16:23 AndIt ithas ishappened come to pass after all thyyour wickedness —woe, woe untoto theeyou! saithsays the Lord Jehovah,Yahweh—
16:24 that thouyou hasthave built untofor theeyourselves a vaulted place, and hasthave made theeyourselves a lofty place in every street.
16:25 ThouYou hasthave built thyyour lofty place at the head of every way, and hasthave made thyyour beauty an abomination, and hasthave opened thyyour feet to everyeveryone onewho that passed by, and multiplied thyyour whoredomprostitution.
16:26 ThouYou hasthave also committed fornicationsexual immorality with the Egyptians, thyyour neighbors, great of flesh; and hasthave multiplied thyyour whoredomprostitution, to provoke me to anger.
16:27 BeholdSee therefore, I have stretched out my hand over theeyou, and have diminished thineyour ordinary foodportion, and delivered theeyou untoto the will of themthose thatwho hate theeyou, the daughters of the Philistines, thatwho are ashamed of thyyour lewd way.
16:28 ThouYou hasthave played the harlotprostitute also with the Assyrians, because thouyou wastwere insatiable; yeayes, thouyou hasthave played the harlotprostitute with them, and yet thouyou wastwerent not satisfied.
16:29 ThouYou hasthave moreover multiplied thyyour whoredomprostitution untoto the land of trafficmerchants, untoto Chaldea; and yet thouyou wastwerent not satisfied herewithwith this.
16:30 How weak is thyyour heart, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, seeingsince thouyou doestdo all these things, the work of an impudent harlotprostitute;
16:31 in that thouyou buildestbuild thyyour vaulted place at the head of every way, and makestmake thyyour lofty place in every street, and hasthave not been as a harlotprostitute, in that thouyou scornestscorn hirepay.
16:32 AAdulterous wife, thatwho committethtakes adultery! that taketh strangers instead of her husband!
16:33 TheyPeople give gifts to all harlotsprostitutes; but thouyou givestgive thyyour gifts to all thyyour lovers, and bribestbribe them, that they may come untoto theeyou on every side for thyyour whoredomsprostitution.
16:34 AndYou thouare art different from other women in thyyour whoredomsprostitution, in that noneno followethone theefollows you to play the harlotprostitute; and whereas thouyou givestgive hire, and no hire is given untoto theeyou, therefore thouyou artare different.
16:35 WhereforeTherefore, O harlotprostitute, hear theYahwehs word of Jehovah:
16:36 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays, Because thyyour filthiness was poured out, and thyyour nakedness uncovered through thyyour whoredomsprostitution with thyyour lovers; and because of all the idols of thyyour abominations, and for the blood of thyyour children, that thouyou didstgave giveto unto them;
16:37 therefore beholdsee, I will gather all thyyour lovers, with whom thouyou hasthave taken pleasure, and all themthose thatwhom thouyou hasthave loved, with all themthose thatwhom thouyou hasthave hated;. I will even gather them against theeyou on every side, and will uncover thyyour nakedness untoto them, that they may see all thyyour nakedness.
16:38 And I will judge thee, you as women thatwho break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring uponon theeyou the blood of wrath and jealousy.
16:39 I will also give theeyou into their hand, and they shallwill throw down thyyour vaulted place, and break down thyyour lofty places;. andThey theywill shall strip theeyou of thyyour clothes, and take thyyour fairbeautiful jewels;. andThey theywill shall leave theeyou naked and bare.
16:40 They shallwill also bring up a company against theeyou, and they shallwill stone theeyou with stones, and thrust theeyou through with their swords.
16:41 AndThey theywill shall burn thyyour houses with fire, and execute judgments uponon theeyou in the sight of many women;. and I will cause theeyou to cease from playing the harlotprostitute, and thouyou shaltwill also give no hire any more.
16:42 So I will I cause my wrath toward theeyou to rest, and my jealousy shallwill depart from thee, you. and I will be quiet, and will not be noangry any more angry.
16:43 Because thouyou hasthave not remembered the days of thyyour youth, but hasthave raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring thyyour way uponon thyyour head, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh: and thouyou shaltshall not commit this lewdness with all thineyour abominations.
16:44 Behold, everyeveryone onewho thatuses useth proverbs shallwill use this proverb against theeyou, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
16:45 ThouYou artare the daughter of thyyour mother, thatwho loathethloathes her husband and her children; and thouyou artare the sister of thyyour sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children:. yourYour mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
16:46 AndYour thine elder sister is Samaria, thatwho dwellethdwells at thyyour left hand, she and her daughters; and thyyour younger sister, thatwho dwellethdwells at thyyour right hand, is Sodom andwith her daughters.
16:47 Yet hastyou thouhave not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, assoon ifyou that were a very little thing, thou wast more corrupt than they in all thyyour ways.
16:48 As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, Sodom thyyour sister hathhas not done, she nor her daughters, as thouyou hasthave done, thouyou and thyyour daughters.
16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thyyour sister Sodom: pride, fulnessfullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters;. neitherShe didalso shedidnt strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
16:50 AndThey they were haughty, arrogant and committed abomination before me:. thereforeTherefore I took them away aswhen I saw goodit.
16:51 NeitherSamaria hathhasnt Samaria committed half of thyyour sins; but thouyou hasthave multiplied thineyour abominations more than they, and hasthave justified thyyour sisters by all thineyour abominations which thouyou hasthave done.
16:52 ThouYou also, bear thouyour thine own shame yourself, in that thouyou hasthave given judgment for thyyour sisters; through thyyour sins that thouyou hasthave committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous than thou:you. yeaYes, be thou also confounded, and bear thyyour shame, in that thouyou hasthave justified thyyour sisters.
16:53 And I will turnreverse again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of thyyour captives inamong the midst of them;
16:54 that thouyou mayestmay bear thineyour own shame, and mayestmay be ashamed because of all that thouyou hasthave done, in that thouyou artare a comfort untoto them.
16:55 AndYour thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shallwill return to their former estate; and Samaria and her daughters shallwill return to their former estate; and thouyou and thyyour daughters shallwill return to your former estate.
16:56 For thyyour sister Sodom was not mentioned by thyyour mouth in the day of thyyour pride,
16:57 before thyyour wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all thatwho are roundaround about her, the daughters of the Philistines, thatwho dodespise despiteyou untoall thee round aboutaround.
16:58 ThouYou hasthave borne thyyour lewdness and thineyour abominations, saithsays JehovahYahweh.
16:59 For thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: I will also deal with theeyou as thouyou hasthave done, who hasthave despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
16:60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with theeyou in the days of thyyour youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant with you.
16:61 Then shaltyou thouwill remember thyyour ways, and be ashamed, when thouyou shalt receive thyyour sisters, thineyour elder sisters and thyyour younger; and I will give them untoto theeyou for daughters, but not by thyyour covenant.
16:62 And I will establish my covenant with thee;you. andThen thouyou shaltwill know that I am JehovahYahweh;
16:63 that thouyou mayestmay remember, and be confounded, and never open thyyour mouth any more, because of thyyour shame, when I have forgiven theeyou all that thouyou hasthave done, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
17:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
17:2 Son of man, puttell forth a riddle, and speak a parable untoto the house of Israel;
17:3 and say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: A great eagle with great wings and long pinionsfeathers, full of feathers, which had diversvarious colors, came untoto Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar:.
17:4 heHe cropped off the topmost of theits young twigs thereof, and carried it untoto a land of traffic;. heHe setplanted it in a city of merchants.
17:5 He also took alsosome of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil;. heHe placed it beside many waters;. heHe set it as a willow tree.
17:6 AndIt it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and theits roots thereof were under him:. soSo it became a vine, andproduced brought forth branches, and shot forthout sprigs.
17:7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers:. andBehold, behold, this vine didbent bend its roots toward him, and shot forthout its branches toward him, from the bedsground ofwhere itsit plantationwas planted, that he might water it.
17:8 It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bringproduce forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodlygood vine.
17:9 Say thou, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: ShallWill it prosper? shallWont he not pull up theits roots thereof, and cut off theits fruit thereof, that it may wither;, that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? andIt notcant be raised from its roots by a strong arm or muchmany people can it be raised from the roots thereof.
17:10 YeaYes, behold, being planted, shallwill it prosper? shallWont it not utterly wither, when the east wind touchethtouches it? itIt shallwill wither in the bedsground where it grew.
17:11 Moreover theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
17:12 Say now to the rebellious house, KnowDont yeyou notknow what these things mean? tellTell them, Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took theits king thereof, and theits princes thereof, and brought them to him to Babylon.
17:13 AndHe he took one of the seedroyal royaloffspring, and made a covenant with him;. heHe also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land;,
17:14 that the kingdom might be basebrought low, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
17:15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and muchmany people. ShallWill he prosper? shallWill he escapewho thatdoes doeth such things escape? shallWill he break the covenant, and yetstill escape?
17:16 As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, surely in the place where the king dwellethdwells thatwho made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brakebroke, even with him in the midstmiddle of Babylon he shallwill die.
17:17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company wont help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.
17:18 For he hathhas despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet hathhas done all these things;. heHe shallwont not escape.
17:19 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: As I live, I will surely minebring on his own head my oath that he hathhas despised, and my covenant that he hathhas broken, I will even bring it upon his own head.
17:20 And I will spread my net uponon him, and he shallwill be taken in my snare,. and I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he hathhas trespassed against me.
17:21 AndAll all his fugitives in all his bands shallwill fall by the sword, and theythose thatwho remain shallwill be scattered toward every wind:. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken it.
17:22 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: I will also take some of the lofty top of the cedar, and will setplant it;. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it uponon a high and lofty mountain:.
17:23 I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shallwill bringproduce forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodlygood cedar:. andBirds underof itevery shallkind will dwell all birds of every wing; in the shade of theits branches thereof shall they dwell.
17:24 AndAll all the trees of the field shallwill know that I, JehovahYahweh, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish:. I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken and have done it.
18:1 TheYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me again, saying,
18:2 What do you mean ye, that yeyou use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the childrens teeth are set on edge?
18:3 As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, yeyou shall not haveuse occasionthis proverb any more to use this proverb in Israel.
18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine:. theThe soul thatwho sinnethsins, ithe shall die.
18:5 But if a man beis just, and dodoes that which is lawful and right,
18:6 and hathhas not eaten uponon the mountains, neitherhasnt hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neitherhasnt hath defiled his neighbors wife, neitherhasnt hath come near to a woman in her impurity,
18:7 and hathhas not wronged any, but hathhas restored to the debtor his pledge, hathhas taken noughtnothing by robbery, hathhas given his bread to the hungry, and hathhas covered the naked with a garment;
18:8 he thatwho hathhasnt notlent givento forththem uponwith interest, neitherhasnt hath taken any increase from them, thatwho hathhas withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hathhas executed true justice between man and man,
18:9 hathhas walked in my statutes, and hathhas kept minemy ordinances, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
18:10 If he begetfathers a son thatwho is a robber, awho sheddersheds of blood, and thatwho doethdoes any one of these things,
18:11 andor thatwho doethdoes not do any of those duties, things but evenhas hath eaten uponat the mountains, mountain shrines and defiled his neighbors wife,
18:12 hathhas wronged the poor and needy, hathhas taken by robbery, hathhas not restored the pledge, and hathhas lifted up his eyes to the idols, hathhas committed abomination,
18:13 hathhas givenlent forthwith upon interest, and hathhas taken increase; from the poor, shall he then live? heHe shall not live:. heHe hathhas done all these abominations;. heHe shall surely die;. hisHis blood shallwill be uponon him.
18:14 Now, lobehold, if he begetfathers a son, thatwho seethsees all his fathers sins, which he hathhas done, and fearethfears, and doethdoesnt notdo such like;likewise,
18:15 thatwho hathhasnt not eaten uponon the mountains, neitherhasnt hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hathhasnt not defiled his neighbors wife,
18:16 neitherhasnt hath wronged any, hathhasnt not taken aughtanything to pledge, neitherhasnt hath taken by robbery, but hathhas given his bread to the hungry, and hathhas covered the naked with a garment;
18:17 thatwho hathhas withdrawn his hand from the poor, thatwho hathhasnt not received interest noror increase, hathhas executed minemy ordinances, hathhas walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father,. heHe shall surely live.
18:18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, robbed his brother, and did that which is not good among his people, behold, he shallwill die in his iniquity.
18:19 Yet you say ye, WhereforeWhy dothdoesnt not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hathhas done that which is lawful and right, and hathhas kept all my statutes, and hathhas done them, he shallwill surely live.
18:20 The soul thatwho sinnethsins, ithe shall die:. theThe son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son;. theThe righteousness of the righteous shall be uponon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be uponon him.
18:21 But if the wicked turnturns from all his sins that he hathhas committed, and keepkeeps all my statutes, and dodoes that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live,. heHe shall not die.
18:22 None of his transgressions that he hathhas committed shallwill be remembered against him:. inIn his righteousness that he hathhas done, he shall live.
18:23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? saithsays the Lord Jehovah;Yahweh, and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?
18:24 But when the righteous turnethturns away from his righteousness, and committethcommits iniquity, and doethdoes according to all the abominations that the wicked man doethdoes, shallshould he live? None of his righteous deeds that he hathhas done shallwill be remembered:. inIn his trespass that he hathhas trespassed, and in his sin that he hathhas sinned, in them he shall he die.
18:25 Yet yeyou say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is not my way not equal? areArent not your ways unequal?
18:26 When the righteous man turnethturns away from his righteousness, and committethcommits iniquity, and diethdies therein;in it, then he dies in his iniquity that he hathhas done shall he die.
18:27 Again, when the wicked man turnethturns away from his wickedness that he hathhas committed, and doethdoes that which is lawful and right, he shallwill save his soul alive.
18:28 Because he considerethconsiders, and turnethturns away from all his transgressions that he hathhas committed, he shall surely live,. heHe shall not die.
18:29 Yet saith the house of Israel says, The way of the Lord is not equalfair. OHouse house of Israel, arearent not my ways equalfair? areArent not your ways unequalunfair?
18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyeveryone one according to his ways, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh. Return ye, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions;, so iniquity shallwill not be your ruin.
18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereinin yewhich you have transgressed; and make youyourself a new heart and a new spirit:. forFor why will yeyou die, O house of Israel?
18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him thatwho diethdies, saithsays the Lord Jehovah:Yahweh. whereforeTherefore turn yourselves, and live.!
19:1 Moreover, take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
19:2 and say, What was thyyour mother? A lioness:. sheShe couched among lions, in the midstmiddle of the young lions she nourished her whelpscubs.
19:3 AndShe she brought up one of her whelps:cubs. heHe became a young lion,. andHe he learned to catch the prey;. heHe devoured men.
19:4 The nations also heard of him;. heHe was taken in their pit; and they brought him with hooks untoto the land of Egypt.
19:5 Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelpscubs, and made him a young lion.
19:6 AndHe he went up and down among the lions;. heHe became a young lion,. andHe he learned to catch the prey;. heHe devoured men.
19:7 AndHe he knew their palaces, and laid waste their cities;. andThe the land was desolate, andwith theits fulness thereoffullness, because of the noise of his roaring.
19:8 Then the nations setattacked against him on every side from the provinces;. andThey they spread their net over him;. heHe was taken in their pit.
19:9 AndThey they put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon;. theyThey brought him into strongholds, so that his voice should no more be heard uponon the mountains of Israel.
19:10 ThyYour mother was like a vine, in thyyour blood, planted by the waters:. itIt was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
19:11 AndIt it had strong rodsbranches for the sceptresscepters of themthose thatwho bareruled. rule,Their and their stature was exalted among the thick boughs,. andThey they were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.
19:12 But it was plucked up in fury,. itIt was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit:. itsIts strong rodsbranches were broken off and withered;. theThe fire consumed them.
19:13 AndNow now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
19:14 AndFire firehas is gone out of the rods of its branches,. itIt hathhas devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong rodbranch to be a sceptrescepter to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
20:1 AndIn it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, thatsome certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of JehovahYahweh, and sat before me.
20:2 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
20:3 Son of man, speak untoto the elders of Israel, and saytell unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Is it to inquire of me that yeyou arehave come? As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, I will not be inquired of by you.
20:4 WiltWill thouyou judge them, son of man,? wiltWill thouyou judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;.
20:5 andTell say unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: In the day when I chose Israel, and swareswore untoto the seedoffspring of the house of Jacob, and made myself known untoto them in the land of Egypt, when I swareswore untoto them, saying, I am JehovahYahweh your God;
20:6 in that day I swareswore untoto them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.
20:7 And I said untoto them, CastEach yeof awayyou everythrow manaway the abominations of his eyes,. andDont defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt;. I am JehovahYahweh your God.
20:8 But they rebelled against me, and wouldwouldnt notlisten hearkento unto me;. theyThey diddidnt notall everythrow man cast away the abominations of their eyes,. neitherThey didalso theydidnt forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath uponon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midstmiddle of the land of Egypt.
20:9 But I wroughtworked for my names sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known untoto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
20:10 So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.
20:11 And I gave them my statutes, and showed them minemy ordinances, which if a man dodoes, he shallwill live in them.
20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbathsSabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am JehovahYahweh thatwho sanctifiethsanctifies them.
20:13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness:. theyThey walkeddidnt notwalk in my statutes, and they rejected minemy ordinances, which if a man keepkeeps, he shall live in them;. andThey mygreatly sabbathsprofaned theymy greatly profanedSabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath uponon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
20:14 But I wroughtworked for my names sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
20:15 Moreover also I swareswore untoto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;,
20:16 because they rejected minemy ordinances, and walkeddidnt notwalk in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths:Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
20:17 Nevertheless minemy eye spared them, and I destroyeddidnt destroy them. not,I neitherdidnt did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.
20:18 And I said untoto their children in the wilderness, WalkDont yewalk not in the statutes of your fathers,. neitherDont observe their ordinances, noror defile yourselves with their idols.
20:19 I am JehovahYahweh your God:. walkWalk in my statutes, and keep minemy ordinances, and do them;.
20:20 andMake hallow my sabbaths;Sabbaths andholy. theyThey shall be a sign between me and you, that yeyou may know that I am JehovahYahweh your God.
20:21 But the children rebelled against me;. theyThey walkeddidnt notwalk in my statutes, neitherand keptdidnt minekeep my ordinances to do them, which if a man dodoes, he shall live in them;. theyThey profaned my sabbathsSabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath uponon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
20:22 Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and wroughtworked for my names sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forthout.
20:23 Moreover I swareswore untoto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;,
20:24 because they had not executed minemy ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my sabbathsSabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers idols.
20:25 Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances whereinin which they shouldcouldnt not live;.
20:26 and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused toall passthat throughopens the firewomb allto thatpass openeththrough the wombfire, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am JehovahYahweh.
20:27 Therefore, son of man, speak untoto the house of Israel, and saytell unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: InMoreover, in this moreover have your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
20:28 For when I had brought them into the land, which I swareswore to give untoto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering;. thereThere they also they made their sweetpleasant savoraroma, and there they poured out there their drink offerings.
20:29 Then I said untoto them, What meanethdoes the high place whereuntowhere yeyou go mean? So theits name thereof is called Bamah untoto this day.
20:30 WhereforeTherefore saytell unto the house of Israel, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Do yeyou pollute yourselves afterin the mannerway of your fathers? andDo you play ye the harlotprostitute after their abominations?
20:31 andWhen whenyou ye offer your gifts, when yeyou make your sons to pass through the fire, do yeyou pollute yourselves with all your idols untoto this day? andShould shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, I will not be inquired of by you;!
20:32 andThat that which comethcomes into your mind shallwill not be at all, in that yeyou say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
20:33 As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, I will I be king over you.
20:34 And I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries whereinin yewhich you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out;.
20:35 and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will I enter into judgment with you face to face.
20:36 LikeJust as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will I enter into judgment with you, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;.
20:38 and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and themthose thatwho transgressdisobey against me;. I will bring them forth out of the land where they sojournlive, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel:. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
20:39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Go ye, everyone serve every one his idols, and hereafter also, if yeyou will not hearkenlisten untoto me; but myyou holy name shall ye no more profane my holy name with your gifts, and with your idols.
20:40 For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, shall serve me in the land:. thereThere I will I accept them, and there I will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your oblationsofferings, with all your holy things.
20:41 AsI awill sweetaccept savoryou willas Ia acceptpleasant you, aroma when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries whereinin yewhich you have been scattered;. and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.
20:42 AndYou yewill shall know that I am Jehovah,Yahweh when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swareswore to give untoto your fathers.
20:43 AndThere thereyou shallwill ye remember your ways, and all your doings, deeds whereinin yewhich you have polluted yourselves;. andThen yeyou shallwill loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that yeyou have committed.
20:44 AndYou yewill shall know that I am JehovahYahweh, when I have dealt with you for my names sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, Oyou ye house of Israel, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
20:45 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
20:46 Son of man, set thyyour face toward the south, and droppreach thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;south.
20:47 andTell say to the forest of the Southsouth, Hear theYahwehs word of Jehovah: ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays, Behold, I will kindle a fire in theeyou, and it shallwill devour every green tree in theeyou, and every dry tree:. theThe flamingburning flame shallwill not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shallwill be burntburned therebyby it.
20:48 AndAll all flesh shallwill see that I, JehovahYahweh, have kindled it;. itIt shallwill not be quenched.
20:49 Then I said I, Ah Lord JehovahYahweh! theyThey say of me, IsIsnt he not a speaker of parables?
21:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
21:2 Son of man, set thyyour face toward Jerusalem, and droppreach thy word toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;.
21:3 andTell say to the land of Israel, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays: Behold, I am against theeyou, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from theeyou the righteous and the wicked.
21:4 Seeing then that I will cut off from theeyou the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword will go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:.
21:5 andAll all flesh shallwill know that I, JehovahYahweh, have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath;. itIt shallwill not return any more.
21:6 SighTherefore thereforesigh, thouyou son of man;. withYou theshall breakingsigh ofbefore thytheir loinseyes and with bitternessa shaltbroken thouheart sighand beforewith their eyesbitterness.
21:7 AndIt it shall be, when they sayask unto theeyou, WhereforeWhy sighestdo thouyou sigh? that thouyou shaltshall say, Because of the tidingsnews, for it cometh;comes! andEvery every heart shallwill melt, and all hands shallwill be feeble, and every spirit shallwill faint, and all knees shallwill be weak as water:. beholdBehold, it comethcomes, and it shall be done, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
21:8 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
21:9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays: Say, A sword,! aA sword,! itIt is sharpened, and also furbished;polished.
21:10 itIt is sharpened that it may make a slaughter;. itIt is furbishedpolished that it may be as lightning:. shallShould we then make mirth? theThe rod of my son, itcondemns contemneth every tree.
21:11 AndIt it is given to be furbishedpolished, that it may be handled:. theThe sword, it is sharpened,. yeaYes, it is furbished, polished to give it into the hand of the slayerkiller.
21:12 Cry and wail, son of man; for it is uponon my people,. itIt is uponon all the princes of Israel:. theyThey are delivered over to the sword with my people;. smiteTherefore thereforebeat uponyour thy thigh.
21:13 For there is a trial;. andWhat what if even the rod that contemnethcondemns shallwill be no more? saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
21:14 ThouYou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smitestrike thyyour hands together;. andLet let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadlyfatally wounded:. itIt is the sword of the great one thatwho is deadlyfatally wounded, which enterethenters into their chambersrooms.
21:15 I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied:. ahAh! itIt is made as lightning,. itIt is pointed for slaughter.
21:16 Gather theeyourselves together,. goGo to the right,. setSet thyselfyourselves in array,. goGo to the left, whithersoeverwherever thyyour face is set.
21:17 I will also smitestrike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest:. I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken it.
21:18 TheYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me again, saying,
21:19 Also, thouyou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come;. theyThey twainboth shallwill come forth out of one land:, and mark out a place,. markMark it out at the head of the way to the city.
21:20 ThouYou shaltshall appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.
21:21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination:. heHe shook the arrows toback and fro, forth. heHe consulted the teraphim,. heHe looked in the liver.
21:22 In his right hand was the divinationlot for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, and to build forts.
21:23 AndIt itwill shall be untoto them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths untoto them; but he bringethbrings iniquity to remembrancememory, that they may be taken.
21:24 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Because yeyou have madecaused your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because thatyou yehave are come to remembrancememory, yeyou shallwill be taken with the hand.
21:25 And thouYou, O deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day ishas come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,
21:26 thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Remove the mitreturban, and take off the crown;. thisThis shallwill not be noas moreit thewas. same;Exalt exalt that which is low, and abasehumble that which is high.
21:27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn it:. thisThis also shallwill be no more, until he comecomes whose right it is; and I will give it him.
21:28 And thouYou, son of man, prophesy, and say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lordsays Jehovahthis concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach;: and say thou, A sword,! aA sword is drawn,! It is polished for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;
21:29 while they see for theeyou false visions, while they divine lies untoto theeyou, to lay theeyou uponon the necks of the wicked thatwho are deadly wounded, whose day ishas come in the time of the iniquity of the end.
21:30 Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where thouyou wastwere created, in the land of thyyour birth, I will I judge theeyou.
21:31 And I will pour out minemy indignation uponon thee;you. I will blow uponon theeyou with the fire of my wrath;. and I will deliver theeyou into the hand of brutish men, skilfulskillful to destroy.
21:32 ThouYou shaltwill be for fuel to the fire;. thyYour blood shallwill be in the midstmiddle of the land;. thouYou shaltwill be remembered no more; remembered: for I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken it.
22:1 Moreover theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
22:2 And thouYou, son of man, wiltwill thouyou judge,? wiltWill thouyou judge the bloody city? thenThen cause her to know all her abominations.
22:3 AndYou thoushall shalt say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: A city that sheddethsheds blood inwithin the midst of herherself, that her time may come, and that makethmakes idols against herself to defile her!
22:4 ThouYou arthave become guilty in thyyour blood that thouyou hasthave shed, and artare defiled in thineyour idols which thouyou hasthave made;! andYou thouhave hast caused thyyour days to draw near, and arthave come evento untothe thyend of your years:. thereforeTherefore I have I made theeyou a reproach untoto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.
22:5 Those thatwho are near, and those thatwho are far from thee, you shallwill mock theeyou, thouyou infamous one, and full of tumult.
22:6 Behold, the princes of Israel, everyeveryone one according to his power, have been in theeyou to shed blood.
22:7 In theeyou have they settreated light by father and mother; inwith thecontempt. midstAmong ofyou theethey have theyoppressed dealtthe byforeigner. oppressionIn withyou thethey sojourner; in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.
22:8 ThouYou hasthave despised my holy things, and hasthave profaned my sabbathsSabbaths.
22:9 Slanderous men have been in theeyou to shed blood;. andIn inyou thee they have eaten uponon the mountains:. inThey the midst of thee they have committed lewdness among you.
22:10 In theeyou have they uncovered their fathers nakedness;. inIn theeyou have they humbled her thatwho was unclean in her impurity.
22:11 AndOne onehas hath committed abomination with his neighbors wife;, and another hathhas lewdly defiled his daughter in law;. andAnother another in theeyou hathhas humbled his sister, his fathers daughter.
22:12 In theeyou have they taken bribes to shed blood;. thouYou hasthave taken interest and increase, and thouyou hasthave greedily gained of thyyour neighbors by oppression, and hasthave forgotten me, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
22:13 Behold, therefore, I have smittenstruck my hand at thyyour dishonest gain which thouyou hasthave made, and at thythe blood which hathhas been inshed thewithin midst of theeyou.
22:14 Can thyyour heart endure, or can thyyour hands be strong, in the days that I shallwill deal with theeyou? I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.
22:15 And I will scatter theeyou among the nations, and disperse theeyou through the countries;. and I will consumepurge thyyour filthiness out of theeyou.
22:16 AndYou thouwill shalt be profaned in thyself, yourself in the sight of the nations;. andThen thouyou shaltwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
22:17 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
22:18 Son of man, the house of Israel ishas become dross untoto me:. allAll of them are brassbronze, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midstmiddle of the furnace;. theyThey are the dross of silver.
22:19 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Because yeyou arehave all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midstmiddle of Jerusalem.
22:20 As they gather silver, andbronze, brass and iron, and lead, and tin into the midstmiddle of the furnace, to blow the fire uponon it, to melt it;, so I will I gather you in minemy anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.
22:21 YeaYes, I will gather you, and blow uponon you with the fire of my wrath, and yeyou shallwill be melted in the midstmiddle thereofof it.
22:22 As silver is melted in the midstmiddle of the furnace, so shallyou yewill be melted in the midstmiddle thereofof it; and yeyou shallwill know that I, JehovahYahweh, have poured out my wrath uponon you.
22:23 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
22:24 Son of man, saytell unto her, ThouYou artare a land that is not cleansed, nor rained uponon in the day of indignation.
22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets inwithin the midst thereofit, like a roaring lion ravening the prey:. theyThey have devoured souls;. theyThey take treasure and precious things;. theyThey have made hermany widows manywithin in the midst thereofit.
22:26 Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things:. theyThey have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidhidden their eyes from my sabbaths,Sabbaths. andSo I am profaned among them.
22:27 Her princes inwithin theit midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.
22:28 AndHer her prophets have daubedplastered for them with untempered mortarwhitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies untoto them, saying, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays, when JehovahYahweh hathhas not spoken.
22:29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery;. yeaYes, they have vexedtroubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the sojournerforeigner wrongfully.
22:30 And I sought for a man among them, thatwho shouldwould build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I shouldwould not destroy it; but I found noneno one.
22:31 Therefore I have I poured out minemy indignation uponon them;. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath:. I have brought their own way haveon I brought upon their heads, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
23:1 TheYahwehs word of Jehovah came again untoto me, saying,
23:2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:.
23:3 andThey they played the harlotprostitute in Egypt;. theyThey played the harlotprostitute in their youth;. thereTheir breasts were theirfondled breasts pressedthere, and theretheir wasyouthful handlednipples thewere bosomcaressed of their virginitythere.
23:4 AndTheir the names of them were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister:. andThey they became mine, and they barebore sons and daughters. AndAs as for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.
23:5 And Oholah played the harlotprostitute when she was mine;. andShe she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbors,
23:6 who were clothed with blue, —governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding uponon horses.
23:7 AndShe shegave bestowedherself heras whoredomsa uponprostitute to them, all of them the choicest men of Assyria. allShe ofdefiled them;herself andwith onthe whomsoeveridols sheof doted, whomever with all their idols she defiledlusted herselfafter.
23:8 NeitherShe hathhasnt she left her whoredomsprostitution since theleaving days of Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her,. andThey theycaressed handledher theyouthful bosomnipples of her virginity; and they poured out their whoredomprostitution uponon her.
23:9 WhereforeTherefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, uponon whom she doted.
23:10 These uncovered her nakedness;. theyThey took her sons and her daughters;, and her they slewkilled her with the sword:. andShe she became a byword among women; for they executed judgments uponon her.
23:11 AndHer her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was she more corrupt in her dotinglusting than she, and in her whoredomsprostitution which werewas more depraved than the whoredomsprostitution of her sister.
23:12 She dotedlusted uponafter the Assyrians, governors and rulers, —her neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding uponon horses, all of them desirable young men.
23:13 And I saw that she was defiled;. theyThey both tookwent onethe same way.
23:14 AndShe she increased her whoredomsprostitution; for she saw men portrayed uponon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilionred,
23:15 girdeddressed with girdlesbelts uponon their loinswaists, with flowing turbans uponon their heads, all of them princeslooking tolike look uponprinces, after the likeness of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their nativitybirth.
23:16 AndAs as soon as she saw them, she dotedlusted uponafter them, and sent messengers untoto them into Chaldea.
23:17 AndThe the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, prostitution. andShe she was polluted with them, and her soul was alienated from them.
23:18 So she uncovered her whoredoms, prostitution and uncovered her nakedness:. thenThen my soul was alienated from her, just like as my soul was alienated from her sister.
23:19 Yet she multiplied her whoredomsprostitution, remembering the days of her youth, whereinin which she had played the harlotprostitute in the land of Egypt.
23:20 AndShe shelusted dotedafter upon their paramourslovers, whose flesh is as the flesh of assesdonkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
23:21 Thus thouyou calledstcalled to remembrancememory the lewdness of thyyour youth, in the handlingcaressing of thyyour bosomnipples by the Egyptians forbecause theof breastsyour ofyouthful thy youthbreasts.
23:22 Therefore, O Oholibah, thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Behold, I will raise up thyyour lovers against theeyou, from whom thyyour soul is alienated, and I will bring them against theeyou on every side:
23:23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them; all of them desirable young men, governors and rulers all of them, princes and men of renown, all of them riding uponon horses.
23:24 AndThey theywill shall come against theeyou with weapons, chariots, and wagons, and with a company of peoples;. theyThey shallwill set themselves against theeyou with buckler, and shield, and helmet roundall about:around. and I will commit the judgment untoto them, and they shallwill judge theeyou according to their judgments.
23:25 And I will set my jealousy against theeyou, and they shallwill deal with theeyou in fury;. theyThey shallwill take away thyyour nose and thineyour ears;. andYour thyremnant residuewill shall fall by the sword:. theyThey shallwill take thyyour sons and thyyour daughters; and thythe residuerest shallof you will be devoured by the fire.
23:26 They shallwill also strip theeyou of thyyour clothes, and take away thyyour fairbeautiful jewels.
23:27 Thus I will I make thyyour lewdness to cease from theeyou, and thyremove whoredomyour broughtprostitution from the land of Egypt;, so that thouyou shaltwill not lift up thineyour eyes untoto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
23:28 For thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Behold, I will deliver theeyou into the hand of them whom thouyou hatesthate, into the hand of them from whom thyyour soul is alienated;.
23:29 andThey theywill shall deal with theeyou in hatred, and shallwill take away all thyyour labor, and shallwill leave theeyou naked and bare;. andThe the nakedness of thyyour whoredomsprostitution shallwill be uncovered, both thyyour lewdness and thyyour whoredomsprostitution.
23:30 These things shallwill be done untoto thee, you forbecause thatyou thouhave hast played the harlotprostitute after the nations, and because thouyou artare polluted with their idols.
23:31 ThouYou hasthave walked in the way of thyyour sister; therefore I will I give her cup into thyyour hand.
23:32 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: ThouYou shaltwill drink of thyyour sisters cup, which is deep and large;. thouYou shaltwill be laughedridiculed to scorn and hadheld in derision;. itIt containethcontains much.
23:33 ThouYou shaltwill be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thyyour sister Samaria.
23:34 ThouYou shaltwill even drink it and drain it out,. andYou thouwill shalt gnaw the sherdsbroken thereofpieces of it, and shaltwill tear thyyour breasts; for I have spoken it, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
23:35 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Because thouyou hasthave forgotten me, and cast me behind thyyour back, therefore bearyou thou also thybear your lewdness and thyyour whoredomsprostitution.
23:36 JehovahYahweh said moreover untoto me: Son of man, wiltwill thouyou judge Oholah and Oholibah? thenThen declare untoto them their abominations.
23:37 For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands;. andThey with their idols have they committed adultery; andwith theytheir idols. They have also caused their sons, whom they barebore untoto me, to pass through the fire untoto them to be devoured.
23:38 Moreover this they have done untoto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbathsSabbaths.
23:39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lobehold, thusthey have they done this in the midstmiddle of my house.
23:40 AndFurthermore furthermoreyou yesisters have sent for men thatwho come from far away, untoto whom a messenger was sent, and, lobehold, they came; for whom thouyou didstwashed wash thyselfyourself, paintpainted thineyour eyes, anddecorated deckyourself thyself with ornaments,
23:41 and sitsat uponon a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon thouyou didst set minemy incense and minemy oil.
23:42 AndThe the voice of a multitude being at ease was with her:. andWith with men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets uponon thetheir hands of them twain, and beautiful crowns uponon their heads.
23:43 Then I said I of her thatwho was old in adulteries, Now they will they play the harlotprostitute with her, and she with them.
23:44 AndThey they went in untoto her, as they go in untoto a harlot:prostitute. soSo they went they in untoto Oholah and untoto Oholibah, the lewd women.
23:45 AndRighteous righteous men, theywill shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and with the judgment of women thatwho shed blood;, because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
23:46 For thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: I will bring up a companymob against them, and will give them to be tossed toback and froforth and robbed.
23:47 AndThe the company shallwill stone them with stones, and despatchdispatch them with their swords;. theyThey shallwill slaykill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
23:48 Thus I will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to dobe afterlewd yourlike lewdnessyou.
23:49 AndThey theywill shall recompense your lewdness uponon you, and yeyou shallwill bear the sins of your idols;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am the Lord JehovahYahweh.
24:1 Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
24:2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this selfsamesame day:. theThe king of Babylon drew close untoto Jerusalem this selfsamesame day.
24:3 AndUtter utter a parable untoto the rebellious house, and saytell unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays, SetPut the cauldron on the caldron, fire. setPut it on, and also pour water into it:.
24:4 gatherGather theits pieces thereof into it, even every good piece,: the thigh, and the shoulder;. fillFill it with the choice bones.
24:5 Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the caldron;cauldron. makeMake it boil well;. yeaYes, let theits bones thereof be boiled inwithin the midst of it.
24:6 WhereforeTherefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldroncauldron whose rust is thereinin it, and whose rust ishasnt not gone out of it! takeTake out of it piece after piece; Nowithout lotcasting islots fallenfor upon it.
24:7 For herthe blood she shed is in the midstmiddle of her;. sheShe set it uponon the bare rock;. sheShe poureddidnt pour it noton upon the ground, to cover it with dust.
24:8 That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood uponon the bare rock, that it should not be covered.
24:9 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.
24:10 Heap on the wood,. makeMake the fire hot,. boilBoil well the flesh, meat andwell. makeMake thick the broth thick, and let the bones be burned.
24:11 Then set it empty uponon theits coals thereof, that it may be hot, and theits brassbronze thereof may burn, and that theits filthiness of it may be molten in it, that theits rust of it may be consumed.
24:12 She hathis weariedweary herself with toil; yet her great rust, goethrust notby forthfire, outdoesnt ofleave her; her rust goeth not forth by fire.
24:13 In thyyour filthiness is lewdness:. becauseBecause I have cleansed theeyou and thouyou wastwerent not cleansed, thouyou shaltwont not be cleansed from thyyour filthiness any more, tilluntil I have caused my wrath toward theeyou to rest.
24:14 I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken it:. itIt shallwill come to passhappen, and I will do it:. I willwont not go back,. neitherI willwont I spare,. neitherI willwont I repent;. accordingAccording to thyyour ways, and according to thyyour doings, shall they will judge theeyou, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
24:15 Also theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
24:16 Son of man, behold, I will take away from theeyou the desire of thineyour eyes with aone stroke:; yet thouyou shaltshall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall thyyour tears run down.
24:17 Sigh, but not aloud,. makeMake no mourning for the dead;. bindBind thyyour headtireheaddress uponon theeyou, and put thyyour shoessandals uponon thyyour feet,. andDont cover notyour thy lips, and dont eat notmourners the bread of men.
24:18 So I spakespoke untoto the people in the morning;, and at evenevening my wife died;. andSo I did in the morning as I was commanded.
24:19 AndThe the people saidasked unto me, WiltWont thouyou not tell us what these things aremean to us, that thouyou doestact solike this?
24:20 Then I said untoto them, TheYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
24:21 Speak untoto the house of Israel, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitiethpities; and your sons and your daughters whom yeyou have left behind shallwill fall by the sword.
24:22 AndYou yewill shall do as I have done:. yeYou shallwont not cover your lips, noror eat themourners bread of men.
24:23 AndYour yourturbans tireswill shall be uponon your heads, and your shoessandals uponon your feet:. yeYou shallwont not mourn noror weep; but yeyou shallwill pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.
24:24 Thus shall Ezekiel will be untoa yousign ato signyou; according to all that he hathhas done, shallyou yewill do:. whenWhen this comethcomes, then shallyou yewill know that I am the Lord JehovahYahweh.
24:25 And thouYou, son of man, shallshouldnt it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart, —their sons and their daughters,—
24:26 that in that day he thatwho escapethescapes shallwill come untoto theeyou, to cause theeyou to hear it with thineyour ears?
24:27 In that day shallyour thy mouth will be opened to him thatwho ishas escaped, and thouyou shaltwill speak, and be no more dumb:mute. soSo shaltyou thouwill be a sign untoto them;. andThen they shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
25:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
25:2 Son of man, set thyyour face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them:.
25:3 andTell say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah:Yahweh! ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays, Because thouyou saidstsaid, Aha,! against my sanctuary, when it was profaned;, and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate;, and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:,
25:4 therefore, behold, I will deliver theeyou to the children of the east for a possession,. andThey theywill shall set their encampments in thee, you and make their dwellings in thee;you. theyThey shallwill eat thyyour fruit, and they shallwill drink thyyour milk.
25:5 And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the children of Ammon a couchingresting place for flocks:. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.

30:20 AndIn it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, thatYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
30:21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt;. andBehold, lo, it hathhas not been bound up, to apply healing medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it bemay become strong to hold the sword.
30:22 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong arm, and that which was broken;. and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.
30:23 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
30:24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand:; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he shallwill groan before himthe king of Babylon with the groaningsgroaning of a deadlymortally wounded man.

31:2 Son of man, saytell unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom artare thouyou like in thyyour greatness?
31:3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fairbeautiful branches, and with a forest like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.
31:4 The waters nourished it,. theThe deep made it to grow:. theIts rivers thereof ran roundall aboutaround its plantation;. andIt it sent out its channels untoto all the trees of the field.
31:5 Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied,. andIts its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it shotspread them forthout.
31:6 All the birds of the heavenssky made their nests in its boughs;. andUnder under its branches, did all the beastsanimals of the field bringgave forthbirth to their young;. andAll great nations lived under its shadow dwelt all great nations.
31:7 Thus it was itbeautiful fair in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.
31:8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it;. theThe fircypress trees were not like its boughs, branches. andThe thepine plane trees were not aslike its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like unto it in its beauty.
31:9 I made it fairbeautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.
31:10 Therefore thus said the Lord JehovahYahweh: Because thouhe artis exalted in stature, and he hathhas set his top among the thick boughsbranches, and his heart is lifted up in his height;,
31:11 I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations;. heHe shallwill surely deal with him;. I have driven him out for his wickedness.
31:12 And strangersForeigners, the terribletyrants of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him:. uponHis branches have fallen on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land;. andAll all the peoples of the earth arehave gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
31:13 UponAll his ruin all the birds of the heavenssky shallwill dwell on his ruin, and all the beastsanimals of the field shallwill be uponon his branches;,
31:14 to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neitherand dont set their top among the thick boughs,. norTheir that their mighty ones dont stand up inon their height, even all thatwho drink water:; for they are all delivered untoto death, to the netherlower parts of the earth, inamong the midst of the children of men, with themthose thatwho go down to the pit.
31:15 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: In the day when he went down to Sheol, I caused a mourning:. I covered the deep for him, and I restrained theits rivers. thereof; The and the great waters were stayed;stopped. and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
31:16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with themthose thatwho descend into the pit;. andAll all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the netherlower parts of the earth.
31:17 They also went down into Sheol with him untoto themthose thatwho are slain by the sword; yeayes, theythose thatwho were his arm, thatwho dweltlived under his shadow in the midstmiddle of the nations.
31:18 To whom artare thouyou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yetYet shaltyou thouwill be brought down with the trees of Eden untoto the netherlower parts of the earth:. thouYou shaltwill lie in the midstmiddle of the uncircumcised, with themthose thatwho are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
32:1 AndIn it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, thatYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
32:2 Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and saytell unto him, ThouYou wastwere likened untoto a young lion of the nations:; yet artyou thouare as a monster in the seas;. andYou thoubroke didstout break forth with thyyour rivers, and troubledsttroubled the waters with thyyour feet, and fouledstfouled their rivers.
32:3 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: I will spread out my net uponon theeyou with a company of many peoples;. andThey theywill shall bring theeyou up in my net.
32:4 And I will leave theeyou uponon the land,. I will cast theeyou forthout uponon the open field, and will cause all the birds of the heavenssky to settle uponon thee, you. and I will satisfy the beastsanimals of the whole earth with theeyou.
32:5 And I will lay thyyour flesh uponon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thyyour height.
32:6 I will also water withthe thyland bloodin thewhich landyou whereinswim thouwith swimmestyour blood, even to the mountains;. andThe the watercourses shallwill be full of theeyou.
32:7 AndWhen when I shall extinguish theeyou, I will cover the heavens, and make theits stars thereof dark;. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shallwont not give its light.
32:8 AllI will make all the bright lights of heaventhe willsky I make dark over theeyou, and set darkness uponon thyyour land, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
32:9 I will also vextrouble the hearts of many peoples, when I shall bring thyyour destruction among the nations, into the countries which thouyou hasthave not known.
32:10 YeaYes, I will make many peoples amazed at theeyou, and their kings shallwill be horribly afraid for theeyou, when I shall brandish my sword before them;. andThey theywill shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thyyour fall.
32:11 For thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: The sword of the king of Babylon shallwill come uponon theeyou.
32:12 ByI the swords of the mighty will I cause thyyour multitude to fall; by the terribleswords of the nationsmighty. They are they all: andthe theyruthless shallof bringthe tonations. noughtThey will bring the pride of Egypt to nothing, and all theits multitude thereofwill shall be destroyed.
32:13 I will destroy also all theits beastsanimals thereof from beside many waters;. neitherThe shall the foot of man wont trouble them any more, nor will the hoofs of beastsanimals trouble them.
32:14 Then I will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
32:15 When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate and waste, a land destitute of that whereofof which it was full, when I shallstrike smite all themthose thatwho dwell therein, then shall they will know that I am JehovahYahweh.
32:16 This is the lamentation wherewithwith which they shallwill lament;. theThe daughters of the nations shallwill lament therewith;with this. They will lament with it over Egypt, and over all her multitude, shallsays they lament therewith, saith the Lord JehovahYahweh.
32:17 ItAlso came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, thatYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
32:18 Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, untoto the netherlower parts of the earth, with themthose thatwho go down into the pit.
32:19 Whom dostdo thouyou pass in beauty? goGo down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.
32:20 They shallwill fall inamong thethose midstwho of them that are slain by the sword:. sheShe is delivered to the sword;. drawDraw her away andwith all her multitudes.
32:21 The strong among the mighty shallwill speak to him out of the midstmiddle of Sheol with themthose thatwho help him:. theyThey arehave gone down,. theyThe uncircumcised lie still, even the uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
32:22 Asshur is there andwith all her company;. herHer graves are roundall aboutaround her;. allAll of them are slain, fallen by the sword;,
32:23 whose graves are set in the uttermost parts of the pit, and her company is roundaround about her grave;, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who caused terror in the land of the living.
32:24 There is Elam and all her multitude roundaround about her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who arehave gone down uncircumcised into the netherlower parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living, and have borne their shame with themthose thatwho go down to the pit.
32:25 They have setmade herElam a bed inamong the midst of the slain with all her multitude;. herHer graves are roundaround about her;, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; for their terror was caused in the land of the living, and they have borne their shame with themthose thatwho go down to the pit:. heHe is put inamong thethose midstwho of them that are slain.
32:26 There is Meshech, Tubal, and all their multitude;. theirTheir graves are roundaround about them;, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; for they caused their terror in the land of the living.
32:27 AndThey theywill shall not lie with the mighty thatwho are fallen of the uncircumcised, thatwho arehave gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and have laid their swords under their heads,. andTheir their iniquities are uponon their bones; for they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
32:28 But thouyou shaltwill be broken inamong the midst of the uncircumcised, and shaltwill lie with themthose thatwho are slain by the sword.
32:29 There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who in their might are laid with themthose thatwho are slain by the sword:. theyThey shallwill lie with the uncircumcised, and with themthose thatwho go down to the pit.
32:30 There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who arehave gone down with the slain;. They are put to shame in the terror which they caused by their might. theyThey are put to shame; and they lie uncircumcised with themthose thatwho are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with themthose thatwho go down to the pit.
32:31 Pharaoh shallwill see them, and shallwill be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
32:32 For I have put his terror in the land of the living;. andHe hewill shall be laid inamong the midst of the uncircumcised, with themthose thatwho are slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
33:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thyyour people, and saytell unto them, When I bring the sword uponon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;,
33:3 if, when he seethsees the sword come uponon the land, he blowblows the trumpet, and warnwarns the people;,
33:4 then whosoeverwhoever hearethhears the sound of the trumpet, and takethdoesnt notheed the warning, if the sword come, comes and taketakes him away, his blood shallwill be uponon his own head.
33:5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and tookdidnt nottake warning;. hisHis blood shallwill be uponon him; whereas if he had takenheeded the warning, he would have delivered his soul.
33:6 But if the watchman seesees the sword come, and doesnt blow not the trumpet, and the people bearent not warned, and the sword come, comes and taketakes any person from among them;, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will I require at the watchmans hand.
33:7 So thouyou, son of man, I have set theeyou a watchman untoto the house of Israel;. thereforeTherefore hear the word atfrom my mouth, and give them warningwarnings from me.
33:8 When I saytell unto the wicked, O wicked man, thouyou shaltwill surely die, and thouyou dostdont not speak to warn the wicked from his way;, that wicked man shallwill die in his iniquity, but hisI blood will I require his blood at thyyour hand.
33:9 Nevertheless, if thouyou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesnt turn not from his way; he shallwill die in his iniquity, but thouyou hasthave delivered thyyour soul.
33:10 And thouYou, son of man, saytell unto the house of Israel: ThusYou yesay speakthis, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are uponon us, and we pine away in them;. howHow then can we live?
33:11 SayTell unto them, As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked;, but that the wicked turn from his way and live:. turn yeTurn, turn ye from your evil ways;! forFor why will yeyou die, O house of Israel?
33:12 And thouYou, son of man, saytell unto the children of thyyour people, The righteousness of the righteous shallwill not deliver him in the day of his transgression;disobedience. andAnd as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shallwill not fall therebyby it in the day that he turnethturns from his wickedness; neither shallwill he thatwho is righteous be able to live therebyby it in the day that he sinnethsins.
33:13 When I saytell to the righteous, that he shallwill surely live;, if he trusttrusts toin his righteousness, and commitcommits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shallwill be remembered; but he will die in his iniquity that he hathhas committed, therein shall he die.
33:14 Again, when I say untoto the wicked, ThouYou shaltwill surely die;, if he turnturns from his sin, and dodoes that which is lawful and right;,
33:15 if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity;, he shallwill surely live,. heHe shallwill not die.
33:16 None of his sins that he hathhas committed shallwill be remembered against him:. heHe hathhas done that which is lawful and right;. heHe shallwill surely live.
33:17 Yet the children of thyyour people say, The way of the Lord is not equal:fair; but as for them, their way is not equalfair.
33:18 When the righteous turnethturns from his righteousness, and committethcommits iniquity, he shallwill even die therein.
33:19 AndWhen when the wicked turnethturns from his wickedness, and doethdoes that which is lawful and right, he shallwill live therebyby it.
33:20 Yet yeyou say, The way of the Lord is not equalfair. OHouse house of Israel, I will judge you every one of you after his ways.
33:21 AndIn it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one thatwho had escaped out of Jerusalem came untoto me, saying, The city ishas smitten.been defeated!
33:22 Now theYahwehs hand of Jehovah had been uponon me in the evening, before he thatwho washad escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no morelonger dumbmute.
33:23 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
33:24 Son of man, theythose thatwho inhabit thosethe waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land:; but we are many;. theThe land is given us for inheritance.
33:25 WhereforeTherefore saytell unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: YeYou eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes untoto your idols, and shed blood:. andSo shallshould yeyou possess the land?
33:26 YeYou stand uponon your sword, yeyou work abomination, and ye defile every one of you defiles his neighbors wife:. andSo shallshould yeyou possess the land?
33:27 ThusYou shaltshall thoutell say unto them, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: As I live, surely theythose thatwho are in the waste places shallwill fall by the sword;. andI himwill thatgive whoever is in the open field will I give to the beastsanimals to be devoured;, and theythose thatwho are in the strongholds and in the caves shallwill die of the pestilence.
33:28 And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment;. andThe the pride of her power shallwill cease;. andThe the mountains of Israel shallwill be desolate, so that noneno shallone will pass through.
33:29 Then shall they will know that I am JehovahYahweh, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.
33:30 AndAs as for theeyou, son of man, the children of thyyour people talk ofabout theeyou by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak to one to another, everyeveryone one to his brother, saying, Come,Please Icome pray you, and hear what is the word is that comethcomes forthout from JehovahYahweh.
33:31 AndThey they come untoto theeyou as the people comethcome, and they sit before theeyou as my people, and they hear thyyour words, but dont do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goethgoes after their gain.
33:32 AndBehold, lo,you thouare artto unto them as a very lovely song of one thatwho hathhas a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear thyyour words, but they dont do them not.
33:33 AndWhen when this comethcomes to pass —behold, it cometh, comes—then shall they will know that a prophet hathhas been among them.
34:1 AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
34:2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel,. prophesyProphesy, and saytell unto them, even to the shepherds, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Woe untoto the shepherds of Israel thatwho do feed themselves! shouldShouldnt not the shepherds feed the sheep?
34:3 YeYou eat the fat,. andYou ye clothe youyourself with the wool,. yeYou kill the fatlings;, but yeyou dont feed not the sheep.
34:4 TheYou diseasedhavent havestrengthened yethe notdiseased. strengthened,You neitherhavent have ye healed that which was sick,. neitherYou havehavent ye bound up that which was broken,. neitherYou havehavent ye brought back that which was driven away,. neitherYou havehavent ye sought that which was lost;, but you have ruled over them with force and with rigor have ye ruled over them.
34:5 AndThey they were scattered, because there was no shepherd;. andThey they became food to all the beastsanimals of the field, and were scattered.
34:6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and uponon every high hill:. yeaYes, my sheep were scattered uponon all the facesurface of the earth;. andThere there was noneno thatone didwho searchsearched or seek after themsought.
34:7 Therefore, yeyou shepherds, hear theYahwehs word of Jehovah:
34:8 As I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, surely forasmuchbecause as my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the beastsanimals of the field, because there was no shepherd, neitherand did my shepherds didnt search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and feddidnt notfeed my sheep;,
34:9 therefore, yeyou shepherds, hear theYahwehs word of Jehovah:!
34:10 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lordsays: Jehovah, Behold, I am against the shepherds;. and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep;. neitherThe shallshepherds thewont shepherds feed themselves any more;. and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.
34:11 For thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
34:12 As a shepherd seekethseeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will I seek out my sheep;. and I will deliver them out of all places whitherwhere they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
34:13 And I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land;. and I will feed them uponon the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
34:14 I will feed them with good pasture;, and upontheir fold will be on the mountains of the height of Israel. shallThere theirthey foldwill be: there shall they lie down in a good fold;. andThey will feed on fatrich pasture shallon they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
34:15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
34:16 I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick:; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will destroy; I will feed them in justice.
34:17 AndAs as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the hemale goats.
34:18 SeemethDoes it seem a small thing untoto you to have fed uponon the good pasture, but yeyou must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? andAnd to have drunk of the clear waters, but ye must you foul the residue with your feet?
34:19 AndAs as for my sheep, they eat that which yeyou have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which yeyou have fouled with your feet.
34:20 Therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh untosays to them: Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
34:21 Because yeyou thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, tilluntil yeyou have scattered them abroad;,
34:22 therefore I will I save my flock, and they shallwill no more be a prey;. and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shallwill feed them, even my servant David;. heHe shallwill feed them, and he shallwill be their shepherd.
34:24 And I, JehovahYahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them;. I, JehovahYahweh, have spoken it.
34:25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil beastsanimals to cease out of the land;. andThey theywill shall dwell securely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
34:26 And I will make them and the places roundaround about my hill a blessing;. and I will cause the shower to come down in its season;. thereThere shallwill be showers of blessing.
34:27 AndThe the tree of the field shallwill yield its fruit, and the earth shallwill yield its increase, and they shallwill be secure in their land;. andThen they shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those thatwho made bondmenslaves of them.
34:28 AndThey theywill shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shallwill the beastsanimals of the earth devour them; but they shallwill dwell securely, and noneno shallone will make them afraid.
34:29 And I will raise up untoto them a plantation for renown, and they shallwill be no more be consumed with famine in the land, neitherand not bear the shame of the nations any more.
34:30 AndThey theywill shall know that I, JehovahYahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
34:31 AndYou ye my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
35:1 Moreover theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
35:2 Son of man, set thyyour face against mountMount Seir, and prophesy against it,
35:3 and saytell unto it, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Behold, I am against theeyou, OMount mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against thee, you. and I will make theeyou a desolation and an astonishment.
35:4 I will lay thyyour cities waste, and thouyou shaltwill be desolate;. andThen thouyou shaltwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
35:5 Because thouyou hasthave had a perpetual enmityhostility, and hasthave given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;,
35:6 therefore, as I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, I will prepare theeyou untofor blood, and blood shallwill pursue thee:you. sinceSince thouyou hasthave not hated blood, therefore blood shallwill pursue theeyou.
35:7 Thus I will I make mountMount Seir an astonishment and a desolation;. and I will cut off from it him thatwho passethpasses through and him thatwho returnethreturns.
35:8 And I will fill its mountains with its slain:. The slain with the sword will fall in thyyour hills and in thyyour valleys and in all thyyour watercourses shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
35:9 I will make theeyou a perpetual desolation, and thyyour cities shallwill not be inhabited;. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
35:10 Because thouyou hasthave said, These two nations and these two countries shallwill be mine, and we will possess it;, whereasalthough JehovahYahweh was there:,
35:11 therefore, as I live, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, I will do according to thineyour anger, and according to thineyour envy which thouyou hasthave showedshown out of thyyour hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge theeyou.
35:12 AndYou thouwill shalt know that I, JehovahYahweh, have heard all thyyour revilingsinsults which thouyou hasthave spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They arehave been laid desolate,. theyThey arehave been given to us to devour.
35:13 AndYou ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me:. I have heard it.
35:14 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: When the whole earth rejoicethrejoices, I will make theeyou desolate.
35:15 As thouyou didstrejoiced rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will I do untoto thee:you. thouYou shaltwill be desolate, OMount mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it;. andThen they shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
36:1 And thouYou, son of man, prophesy untoto the mountains of Israel, and say, YeYou mountains of Israel, hear theYahwehs word of Jehovah.
36:2 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Because the enemy hathhas said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;!
36:3 therefore prophesy, and say, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that yeyou might be a possession untoto the residue of the nations, and yeyou are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;
36:4 therefore, yeyou mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord JehovahYahweh: ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lordsays Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which arehave become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are roundall aboutaround;
36:5 therefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: Surely in the fire of my jealousy I have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land untoto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.
36:6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and saytell unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because yeyou have borne the shame of the nations:.
36:7 thereforeTherefore thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: I have sworn, saying, Surely the nations that are roundaround about you, theywill shall bear their shame.
36:8 But yeyou, O mountains of Israel, yeyou shall shoot forthout your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come.
36:9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turncome untoto you, and yeyou shallwill be tilled and sown;.
36:10 and I will multiply men uponon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it;. andThe the cities shallwill be inhabited, and the waste places shallwill be builded;built.
36:11 and I will multiply upon you man and beast;animal andon theyyou. shallThey will increase and be fruitful;. and I will cause you to be inhabited afteras youryou formerwere estatebefore, and you will do better unto you than at your beginnings:. andThen yeyou shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh.
36:12 YeaYes, I will cause men to walk uponon you, even my people Israel;. andThey theywill shall possess theeyou, and thouyou shaltwill be their inheritance, and thouyou shaltwill nonever moreagain henceforth bereave them of their children.
36:13 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: Because they say untoto you, ThouYou landare art a devourer of men, and hasthave been a bereaver of thyyour nation;
36:14 therefore thouyou shaltshall devour men no more, neitherand not bereave thyyour nation any more, saithsays the Lord Jehovah;Yahweh.
36:15 neitherI willwont I let theeyou hear any more the shame of the nations, neitherany shaltmore. thouYou wont bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neitherand shaltyou thouwont cause thyyour nation to stumble any more, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
36:16 Moreover theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto me, saying,
36:17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dweltlived in their own land, they defiled it by their wayways and by their doings:deeds. theirTheir way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.
36:18 WhereforeTherefore I poured out my wrath uponon them for the blood which they had poured out uponon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;.
36:19 and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries:. I judged them according to their way and according to their doings I judged themdeeds.
36:20 AndWhen when they came untoto the nations, whitherwhere they went, they profaned my holy name;, in that men said of them, These are theYahwehs people of Jehovah, and arehave goneleft forth out of his land.
36:21 But I had regardrespect for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whitherwhere they went.
36:22 Therefore saytell unto the house of Israel, ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: I dont do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which yeyou have profaned among the nations, whitherwhere yeyou went.
36:23 And I will sanctify my great name, which hathhas been profaned among the nations, which yeyou have profaned inamong the midst of them;. andThen the nations shallwill know that I am JehovahYahweh, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, when I shallam beproven sanctifiedholy in you before their eyes.
36:24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.
36:25 And I will sprinkle clean water uponon you, and yeyou shallwill be clean:. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
36:26 AI newwill heart also will I give you, and a new spiritheart, willand I will put a new spirit within you;. and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
36:27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes,. andYou yewill shall keep minemy ordinances, and do them.
36:28 AndYou yewill shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers;. andYou yewill shall be my people, and I will be your God.
36:29 And I will save you from all your uncleannesses:uncleanness. and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine uponon you.
36:30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that yeyou may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.

41:18 AndIt it was made with cherubim and palm trees;. andA a palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces;,
41:19 so that there was the face of a man toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. ThusIt was it made like this through all the house roundall about:around.
41:20 Cherubim and palm trees were made from the ground untoto above the door. wereThe cherubimwall andof palmthe treestemple made; thus was thelike wall of the templethis.
41:21 AsThe fordoor theposts temple,of the doornave posts were squared;. andAs as for the face of the sanctuarynave, theits appearance thereof was as the appearance of the temple.
41:22 The altar was of wood, three cubits high, and theits length thereof two cubits;. andIts the corners thereof, andits the length thereofbase, and theits walls thereof, were of wood:. andHe he said untoto me, This is the table that is before JehovahYahweh.
41:23 AndThe the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.
41:24 AndThe the doors had two leaves apieceeach, two turning leaves: two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other.
41:25 AndThere there were made on them, on the doors of the templenave, cherubim and palm trees, like asthose were made uponon the walls;. andThere there was a threshold of wood uponon the face of the porch withoutoutside.
41:26 AndThere there were closed windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch:. thusThis wereis how the side chambersrooms of the house, temple and the thresholds were arranged.
42:1 Then he brought me forthout into the outer court, the way toward the north:. andThen he brought me into the chamberroom that was overopposite against the separate place, and which was overopposite against the building toward the north.
42:2 BeforeFacing the length of aone hundred cubits was the north door, and the breadthwidth was fifty cubits.
42:3 OverOpposite against the twenty cubits which belonged to the inner court, and overopposite against the pavement which belonged to the outer court, was gallery against gallery in the thirdthree storystories.
42:4 AndBefore before the chambersrooms was a walk of ten cubits breadthwidth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors were toward the north.
42:5 Now the upper chambersrooms were shorter; for the galleries took away from these, more than from the lower and the middlemost, middle in the building.
42:6 For they were in three stories, and they haddidnt nothave pillars as the pillars of the courts:. thereforeTherefore the uppermost was straitenedset back more than the lowest and the middlemostmiddle from the ground.
42:7 AndThe the wall that was withoutoutside by the side of the chambersrooms, toward the outer court before the chambersrooms, the length thereof was fifty cubits long.
42:8 For the length of the chambersrooms that were in the outer court was fifty cubits:. andBehold, lo,those beforefacing the temple were aone hundred cubits.
42:9 AndFrom from under these chambersrooms was the entry on the east side, as one goethgoes into them from the outer court.
42:10 In the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east, before the separate place, and before the building, there were chambersrooms.
42:11 AndThe the way before them was like the appearance of the wayrooms of the chambers which were toward the north;. accordingTheir to their length soand waswidth theirwere breadth:the andsame. allAll their egressesexits werehad boththe accordingsame toarrangement their fashions, and according to their doors.
42:12 AndLike according to the doors of the chambersrooms that were toward the south was a door at the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall toward the east, as one enterethenters into them.
42:13 Then he said heto unto me, The north chambersrooms and the south chambersrooms, which are beforeopposite the separate place, they are the holy chambersrooms, where the priests thatwho are near untoto JehovahYahweh shall eat the most holy things:. thereThere they shall they lay the most holy things, andwith the meal offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.
42:14 When the priests enter in, then they shall they not go out of the holy place into the outer court, butuntil there they shall lay their garments whereinin which they minister there; for they are holy:. andThen they shall put on other garments, and shall approach to that which pertainethis tofor the people.
42:15 Now when he had madefinished an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me forthout by the way of the gate whosewhich prospectfaces is toward the east, and measured it roundall aboutaround.
42:16 He measured on the east side with the measuring reed five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed roundall aboutaround.
42:17 He measured on the north side five hundred reeds with the measuring reed roundall aboutaround.
42:20 He measured it on the four sides:. itIt had a wall roundaround aboutit, the length five hundred cubits, and the breadthwidth five hundred cubits, to make a separation between that which was holy and that which was common.
43:1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that lookethlooks toward the east.
43:2 AndBehold, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east:. andHis his voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shinedwas illuminated with his glory.
43:3 AndIt it was accordinglike to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell uponon my face.
43:4 AndYahwehs the glory of Jehovah came into the house by the way of the gate whosewhich prospectfaces is toward the east.
43:5 AndThe the Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, theYahwehs glory of Jehovah filled the house.
43:6 And I heard one speaking untoto me out of the house;, and a man stood by me.
43:7 AndHe he said untoto me, Son of man, this is the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell inamong the midst of the children of Israel for everforever. AndThe the house of Israel shallwill no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom,prostitution and by the dead bodies of their kings in their high places;
43:8 in their setting of their threshold by my threshold, and their door post beside my door post,. andThere there was buta the wall between me and them; and they have defiled my holy name by their abominations which they have committed:. whereforeTherefore I have consumed them in minemy anger.
43:9 Now let them put away their whoredomprostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me;. andThen I will dwell inamong the midst of them for everforever.
43:10 ThouYou, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern.
43:11 AndIf if they beare ashamed of all that they have done, make known untoto them the form of the house, andits the fashion thereof, andits the egresses thereofexits, andits the entrances thereof, andits all the forms thereofstructure, and all theits ordinances thereof, and all theits forms thereof, and all theits laws thereof; and write it in their sight;, that they may keep the whole form thereofof it, and all theits ordinances thereof, and do them.
43:12 This is the law of the house:. uponOn the top of the mountain the whole limit thereofaround roundit about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.
43:13 AndThese these are the measuresmeasurements of the altar by cubits the cubit is a cubit and a handbreadthhand width: the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadthwidth a cubit, and theits border thereofaround byits the edge thereof round about a span; and this shall be the base of the altar.
43:14 AndFrom from the bottom uponon the ground to the lower ledge shall be two cubits, and the breadthwidth one cubit; and from the lesser ledge to the greater ledge shall be four cubits, and the breadthwidth a cubit.
43:15 AndThe the upper altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar hearth and upward there shall be four horns.
43:16 AndThe the altar hearth shall be twelve cubits long by twelve broadwide, square in theits four sides thereof.
43:17 AndThe the ledge shall be fourteen cubits long by fourteen broadwide in theits four sides thereof; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and theits bottom thereof shall be a cubit round aboutaround; and theits steps thereof shall look toward the east.
43:18 AndHe he said untoto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord JehovahYahweh says: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereonon it, and to sprinkle blood thereonon it.
43:19 ThouYou shaltshall give to the Levitical priests thewho Levites that are of the seedoffspring of Zadok, who are near untoto me, to minister untoto me, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh, a young bullockbull for a sin offering.
43:20 AndYou thoushall shalt take of theits blood thereof, and put it on theits four horns of it, and on the four corners of the ledge, and uponon the border roundall about:around. thusYou shaltshall thou cleanse it and make atonement for it that way.
43:21 ThouYou shaltshall also take the bullockbull of the sin offering, and it shall be burntburned in the appointed place of the house, withoutoutside of the sanctuary.
43:22 AndOn on the second day thouyou shaltshall offer a hemale goat without blemishdefect for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they didcleansed cleanse it with the bullockbull.
43:23 When thouyou hasthave madefinished an end of cleansing it, thouyou shaltshall offer a young bullockbull without blemish, defect and a ram out of the flock without blemishdefect.
43:24 AndYou thoushall shalt bring them near beforeto JehovahYahweh, and the priests shall cast salt uponon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering untoto JehovahYahweh.
43:25 Seven days shaltyou thoushall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering:. theyThey shall also prepare a young bullock, bull and a ram out of the flock, without blemishdefect.

43:27 AndWhen when they have accomplished the days, it shall be that uponon the eighth day, and forwardonward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings uponon the altar, and your peace offerings;. andThen I will accept you, saithsays the Lord JehovahYahweh.
44:1 Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which lookethlooks toward the east; and it was shut.
44:2 AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, This gate shall be shut;. itIt shall not be opened, neitherno man shall any man enter in by it; for JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, hathhas entered in by it;. thereforeTherefore it shall be shut.
44:3 As for the prince, he shall sit thereinin it as prince to eat bread before Jehovah;Yahweh. heHe shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate, and shall go out by the same way of the same.
44:4 Then he brought me by the way of the north gate before the house; and I looked, and, behold, theYahwehs glory of Jehovah filled theYahwehs house; ofso Jehovah: and I fell uponon my face.
44:5 AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, Son of man, mark well, and beholdsee with thineyour eyes, and hear with thineyour ears all that I saytell untoyou thee concerning all the ordinances of theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and all theits laws thereof; and mark well the entrance of the house, with every egressexit of the sanctuary.

47:3 When the man went forthout eastward with the line in his hand, he measured aone thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the ankles.
47:4 Again he measured aone thousand, and caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the knees. Again he measured aone thousand, and caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the loinswaist.

47:13 ThusThe saithLord theYahweh Lord Jehovahsays: This shall be the border, wherebyby yewhich you shall divide the land for inheritance according to the twelve tribes of Israel:. Joseph shall have two portions.
47:14 AndYou ye shall inherit it, one as well as another; for I swareswore to give it untoto your fathers:. andThis this land shallwill fall untoto you for inheritance.
