| 1:1 |
These are the words which Moses spakespoke untoto all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah overopposite against SuphSuf, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di zahabDizahab. |
| 1:2 |
It is eleven days journey from Horeb by the way of mountMount Seir untoto Kadesh barneaBarnea. |
| 1:3 |
AndIn it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spakespoke untoto the children of Israel, according untoto all that JehovahYahweh had given him in commandment untoto them;, |
| 1:4 |
after he had smittenstruck Sihon the king of the Amorites, who dweltlived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who dweltlived in Ashtaroth, at Edrei. |
| 1:5 |
Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses began Moses to declare this law, saying, |
| 1:6 |
JehovahYahweh our God spakespoke untoto us in Horeb, saying, YeYou have dweltlived long enough inat this mountain:. |
| 1:7 |
turn youTurn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and untoto all the places nighnear thereunto, there: in the Arabah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the South, and by the sea shoreseashore, in the land of the Canaanites, and in Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. |
| 1:8 |
Behold, I have set the land before you:. goGo in and possess the land which JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto your fathers, —to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, —to give untoto them and to their seedoffspring after them. |
| 1:9 |
And I spakespoke untoto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:. |
| 1:10 |
JehovahYahweh your God hathhas multiplied you, and, behold, yeyou are thistoday day as the stars of heaventhe sky for multitude. |
| 1:11 |
JehovahMay Yahweh, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as yeyou are, and bless you, as he hathhas promised you! |
| 1:12 |
How can I myself alone bear your cumbranceproblems, and your burdenburdens, and your strife? |
| 1:13 |
Take you wise men, andof understanding, andwho known, are accordingrespected toamong your tribes, and I will make them heads over you. |
| 1:14 |
AndYou ye answered me, and said, The thing which thouyou hasthave spoken is good for us to do. |
| 1:15 |
So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and knownrespected men, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, according to your tribes. |
| 1:16 |
And I chargedcommanded your judges at that time, saying, Hear thecases causes between your brethren, brothers and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the sojournerforeigner thatwho is living with him. |
| 1:17 |
YeYou shall not respectshow personspartiality in judgment; yeyou shall hear the small and the great alike;. yeYou shall not be afraid of the face of man;, for the judgment is Gods:. andThe thecase cause that is too hard for you, yeyou shall bring untoto me, and I will hear it. |
| 1:18 |
And I commanded you at that time all the things which yeyou should do. |
| 1:19 |
AndWe wetraveled journeyed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which yeyou saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as JehovahYahweh our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh barneaBarnea. |
| 1:20 |
And I said untoto you, YeYou arehave come untoto the hill country of the Amorites, which JehovahYahweh our God givethgives untoto us. |
| 1:21 |
Behold, JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas set the land before thee:you. goGo up, take possession, as Jehovah,Yahweh the God of thyyour fathers, hathhas spoken untoto thee;you. fearDont notbe afraid, neither be dismayed. |
| 1:22 |
AndYou ye came near untoto me, everyeveryone one of you, and said, LetLets us send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring back to us word again of the way by which we must go up, and the cities untoto which we shall come. |
| 1:23 |
AndThe the thing pleased me well;. and I took twelve men of youyour men, one man for every tribe:. |
| 1:24 |
andThey they turned and went up into the hill country, and came untoto the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out. |
| 1:25 |
AndThey they took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down untoto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which JehovahYahweh our God givethgives untoto us. |
| 1:26 |
Yet yeyou wouldwouldnt not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of JehovahYahweh your God:. |
| 1:27 |
andYou ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because JehovahYahweh hated us, he hathhas brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. |
| 1:28 |
WhitherWhere are we going up? ourOur brethrenbrothers have made our heart to melt, saying, The people are greater and taller than we;. theThe cities are great and fortified up to heaven;the andsky. moreoverMoreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.! |
| 1:29 |
Then I said untoto you, DreadDont not,be neitherterrified. Dont be afraid of them. |
| 1:30 |
JehovahYahweh your God, who goethgoes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes, |
| 1:31 |
and in the wilderness, where thouyou hasthave seen how that JehovahYahweh thyyour God barecarried theeyou, as a man dothcarries bear his son, in all the way that yeyou went, until yeyou came untoto this place. |
| 1:32 |
Yet in this thing yeyou diddidnt not believe JehovahYahweh your God, |
| 1:33 |
who went before you inon the way, to seek you out a place for you to pitch your tents in,: in fire by night, to show you by what way yeyou should go, and in the cloud by day. |
| 1:34 |
AndYahweh Jehovah heard the voice of your words, and was wrothangry, and swareswore, saying, |
| 1:35 |
Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land, which I swareswore to give untoto your fathers, |
| 1:36 |
saveexcept Caleb the son of Jephunneh;. heHe shall see it;. andI to him will I give the land that he hathhas trodden upon,on to him and to his children, because he hathhas wholly followed JehovahYahweh. |
| 1:37 |
Also JehovahYahweh was angry with me for your sakes, saying, ThouYou also shaltshall not go in thither:there. |
| 1:38 |
Joshua the son of Nun, who standethstands before theeyou, he shall go in thither:there. encourageEncourage thou him;, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. |
| 1:39 |
Moreover your little ones, thatwhom yeyou said shouldwould be acaptured preyor killed, and your children, thatwho thistoday day have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in thither, there. andI unto them will I give it to them, and they shall possess it. |
| 1:40 |
But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea. |
| 1:41 |
Then yeyou answered and said untoto me, We have sinned against Jehovah,Yahweh. weWe will go up and fight, according to all that JehovahYahweh our God commanded us. AndEvery yeman girdedof onyou everyput manon his weapons of war, and werepresumed forward to go up into the hill country. |
| 1:42 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, SayTell unto them, GoDont notgo up, neitherand dont fight; for I am not among you;, lest yeyou be smittenstruck before your enemies. |
| 1:43 |
So I spakespoke untoto you, and yeyou hearkeneddidnt notlisten; but yeyou rebelled against the commandment of JehovahYahweh, and were presumptuous, and went up into the hill country. |
| 1:44 |
AndThe the Amorites, thatwho dweltlived in that hill country, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and beat you down in Seir, even untoto Hormah. |
| 1:45 |
AndYou ye returned and wept before Jehovah;Yahweh, but JehovahYahweh hearkeneddidnt notlisten to your voice, nor gaveturn his ear untoto you. |
| 1:46 |
So yeyou abodestayed in Kadesh many days, according untoto the days that yeyou abode thereremained. |
| 2:1 |
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea, as JehovahYahweh spakespoke untoto me; and we compassedencircled mountMount Seir many days. |
| 2:2 |
AndYahweh Jehovahspoke spaketo unto me, saying, |
| 2:3 |
YeYou have compassedencircled this mountain long enough:. turnTurn you northward. |
| 2:4 |
AndCommand command thou the people, saying, YeYou are to pass through the border of your brethrenbrothers, the children of Esau, thatwho dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. TakeTherefore yebe good heed unto yourselves therefore;careful. |
| 2:5 |
Dont contend not with them; for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on;, because I have given mountMount Seir untoto Esau for a possession. |
| 2:6 |
YeYou shall purchase food offrom them for money, that yeyou may eat;. andYou ye shall also buy water offrom them for money, that yeyou may drink. |
| 2:7 |
For JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas blessed theeyou in all the work of thyyour hand;hands. heHe hathhas known thyyour walking through this great wilderness:. theseThese forty years, JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas been with thee;you. thouYou hasthave lacked nothing. |
| 2:8 |
So we passed by from our brethrenbrothers, the children of Esau, thatwho dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion geberGeber. AndWe we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. |
| 2:9 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, VexDont notbother Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give theeyou any of his land for a possession;, because I have given Ar untoto the children of Lot for a possession. |
| 2:10 |
The Emim dweltlived thereinthere aforetimebefore, a people great, and manynumerous people, and tall, as the Anakim:. |
| 2:11 |
theseThese also are accountedconsidered to be Rephaim, as the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim. |
| 2:12 |
The Horites also dweltlived in Seir aforetimein the past, but the children of Esau succeeded them;. andThey they destroyed them from before them, and dweltlived in their stead;place, as Israel did untoto the land of his possession, which JehovahYahweh gave untoto them. |
| 2:13 |
Now rise up, and getcross you over the brook Zered. AndWe we went over the brook Zered. |
| 2:14 |
AndThe the days in which we came from Kadesh barnea,Barnea until we werehad come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years;, until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midstmiddle of the camp, as JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto them. |
| 2:15 |
Moreover theYahwehs hand of Jehovah was against them, to destroy them from the midstmiddle of the camp, until they were consumed. |
| 2:16 |
So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, |
| 2:17 |
thatYahweh Jehovahspoke spaketo unto me, saying, |
| 2:18 |
ThouYou artare this day to pass over Ar, the border of Moab:, today. |
| 2:19 |
andWhen whenyou thoucome comestnear nighthe overborder againstof the children of Ammon, vexdont bother them not, nor contend with them; for I will not give theeyou any of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession;, because I have given it untoto the children of Lot for a possession. |
| 2:20 |
That also is accountedconsidered a land of Rephaim:. Rephaim dweltlived thereinthere aforetime;in the past, but the Ammonites call them Zamzummim, |
| 2:21 |
a great people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim; but JehovahYahweh destroyed them from before them;Israel, and they succeeded them, and dweltlived in their stead;place, |
| 2:22 |
as he did for the children of Esau, thatwho dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and dweltlived in their steadplace even untoto this day. |
| 2:23 |
AndThen the Avvim, thatwho dweltlived in villages as far as Gaza,: the Caphtorim, thatwho came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dweltlived in their steadplace. |
| 2:24 |
Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon:. beholdBehold, I have given into thyyour hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. |
| 2:25 |
ThisToday dayI will I begin to put the dread of theeyou and the fear of theeyou uponon the peoples thatwho are under the whole heavensky, who shall hear the report of theeyou, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of theeyou. |
| 2:26 |
And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth untoto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying, |
| 2:27 |
Let me pass through thyyour land:. I will go along by the highway,. I will turn neither untoto the right hand nor to the left. |
| 2:28 |
ThouYou shaltshall sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink:. onlyJust let me pass through on my feet;, |
| 2:29 |
as the children of Esau thatwho dwell in Seir, and the Moabites thatwho dwell in Ar, did untoto me;, until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which JehovahYahweh our God givethgives us. |
| 2:30 |
But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him;, for JehovahYahweh thyyour God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thyyour hand, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 2:31 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before thee:you. beginBegin to possess, that thouyou mayestmay inherit his land. |
| 2:32 |
Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, untoto battle at Jahaz. |
| 2:33 |
AndYahweh Jehovah our God delivered him up before us; and we smotestruck him, and his sons, and all his people. |
| 2:34 |
AndWe we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones;. weWe left noneno one remaining:. |
| 2:35 |
onlyOnly the cattlelivestock we took for aplunder preyfor unto ourselves, with the spoilplunder of the cities which we had taken. |
| 2:36 |
From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and from the city that is in the valley, even untoto Gilead, there was not a city too high for us;. JehovahYahweh our God delivered up all before us:. |
| 2:37 |
onlyOnly to the land of the children of Ammon thouyou camestdidnt notcome near;: all the sidebanks of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill country, and wheresoeverwherever JehovahYahweh our God forbade us. |
| 3:1 |
Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan:. and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, untoto battle at Edrei. |
| 3:2 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, FearDont fear him not; for I have delivered him, andwith all his people, and his land, into thyyour hand;. andYou thoushall shalt do untoto him as thouyou didstdid untoto Sihon king of the Amorites, who dweltlived at Heshbon. |
| 3:3 |
So JehovahYahweh our God also delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people:. andWe westruck smote him until noneno one was left to him remaining. |
| 3:4 |
AndWe we took all his cities at that time;. thereThere was not a city which we tookdidnt nottake from them;: threescoresixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. |
| 3:5 |
All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars;, besidesin theaddition unwalledto towns a great many villages without walls. |
| 3:6 |
AndWe we utterly destroyed them, as we did untoto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. |
| 3:7 |
But all the cattlelivestock, and the spoilplunder of the cities, we took for aplunder preyfor unto ourselves. |
| 3:8 |
AndWe we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites thatwho were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon untoto mountMount Hermon. |
| 3:9 |
whichThe Hermon the Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir;. |
| 3:10 |
We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, untoto Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. |
| 3:11 |
For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim;. beholdBehold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron;. isIsnt it not in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nineNine cubits was theits length thereof, and four cubits theits breadth of itwidth, after the cubit of a man. |
| 3:12 |
AndThis this land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, andwith theits cities thereof, I gave Ito unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites:; |
| 3:13 |
and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave Ito unto the half tribe of Manasseh; —all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. The same is called the land of Rephaim. |
| 3:14 |
Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, untoto the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth jairJair, untoto this day. |
| 3:15 |
And I gave Gilead untoto Machir. |
| 3:16 |
AndTo unto the Reubenites and untoto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even untoto the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and theits border thereof, even untoto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; |
| 3:17 |
the Arabah also, and the Jordan and theits border thereof, from Chinnereth even untoto the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward. |
| 3:18 |
And I commanded you at that time, saying, JehovahYahweh your God hathhas given you this land to possess it:. yeAll of you men of valor shall pass over armed before your brethrenbrothers, the children of Israel, all the men of valor. |
| 3:19 |
But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattlelivestock, I know that yeyou have much cattlelivestock, shall abidelive in your cities which I have given you, |
| 3:20 |
until JehovahYahweh givegives rest untoto your brethrenbrothers, as untoto you, and they also possess the land which JehovahYahweh your God givethgives them beyond the Jordan:. thenThen you shall yeeach return everyto manhis untoown his possession, which I have given you. |
| 3:21 |
And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ThineYour eyes have seen all that JehovahYahweh your God hathhas done untoto these two kings:. soSo shall JehovahYahweh do untoto all the kingdoms whitherwhere thouyou goestgo over. |
| 3:22 |
YeYou shall not fear them; for JehovahYahweh your God, hehimself itfights is that fighteth for you. |
| 3:23 |
And I besoughtbegged JehovahYahweh at that time, saying, |
| 3:24 |
O Lord JehovahYahweh, thouyou hasthave begun to show thyyour servant thyyour greatness, and thyyour strong hand:. forFor what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do accordingworks tolike thy worksyours, and accordingmighty toacts thylike mighty actsyours? |
| 3:25 |
LetPlease let me go over, I pray thee, and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodlyfine mountain, and Lebanon. |
| 3:26 |
But JehovahYahweh was wrothangry with me forbecause yourof sakesyou, and hearkeneddidnt notlisten untoto me;. andYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, LetThat itis sufficeenough! thee;Speak speak no more untoto me of this matter. |
| 3:27 |
GetGo thee up untoto the top of Pisgah, and lift up thineyour eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and beholdsee with thineyour eyes:; for thouyou shaltshall not go over this Jordan. |
| 3:28 |
But chargecommission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thouyou shaltshall see. |
| 3:29 |
So we abodestayed in the valley overnear against Beth peorPeor. |
| 4:1 |
And nowNow, O Israel, hearkenlisten untoto the statutes and untoto the ordinances, which I teach you, to do them;, that yeyou may live, and go in and possess the land which JehovahYahweh, the God of your fathers, givethgives you. |
| 4:2 |
YeYou shall not add untoto the word which I command you, neither shall yeyou diminishtake away from it, that yeyou may keep the commandments of JehovahYahweh your God which I command you. |
| 4:3 |
Your eyes have seen what JehovahYahweh did because of Baal peorPeor; for Yahweh your God has destroyed all the men thatwho followed Baal peor,Peor Jehovah thy God hath destroyed them from theamong midst of theeyou. |
| 4:4 |
But yeyou thatwho didwere cleavefaithful untoto JehovahYahweh your God are all alive every one of you this daytoday. |
| 4:5 |
Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as JehovahYahweh my God commanded me, that yeyou should do so in the midstmiddle of the land whitherwhere yeyou go in to possess it. |
| 4:6 |
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, thatwho shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. |
| 4:7 |
For what great nation is there, that hathhas a god so nighnear untoto them, as JehovahYahweh our God is whensoeverwhenever we call uponon him? |
| 4:8 |
AndWhat what great nation is there, that hathhas statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this daytoday? |
| 4:9 |
Only takebe heed to thyselfcareful, and keep thyyour soul diligently, lest thouyou forget the things which thineyour eyes saw, and lest they depart from thyyour heart all the days of thyyour life; but make them known untoto thyyour children and thyyour childrens children;— |
| 4:10 |
the day that thouyou stoodeststood before JehovahYahweh thyyour God in Horeb, when JehovahYahweh said untoto me, Assemble me the people to me, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live uponon the earth, and that they may teach their children. |
| 4:11 |
AndYou ye came near and stood under the mountain;. andThe the mountain burned with fire untoto the heart of heaventhe sky, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. |
| 4:12 |
AndYahweh Jehovahspoke spaketo unto you out of the midstmiddle of the fire: yeyou heard the voice of words, but yeyou saw no form; you only ye heard a voice. |
| 4:13 |
AndHe he declared untoto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments;. andHe he wrote them uponon two tablesstone of stonetablets. |
| 4:14 |
AndYahweh Jehovah commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances, that yeyou might do them in the land whitherwhere yeyou go over to possess it. |
| 4:15 |
TakeBe yevery thereforecareful, good heed unto yourselves; for yeyou saw no mannerkind of form on the day that JehovahYahweh spakespoke untoto you in Horeb out of the midstmiddle of the fire;, |
| 4:16 |
lest yeyou corrupt yourselves, and make youyourself a gravencarved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, |
| 4:17 |
the likeness of any beastanimal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that fliethflies in the heavenssky, |
| 4:18 |
the likeness of anything that creepethcreeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth; |
| 4:19 |
and lest thouyou lift up thineyour eyes untoto heaventhe sky, and when thouyou seestsee the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the hostarmy of heaventhe sky, thouyou beare drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas allotted untoto all the peoples under the whole heavensky. |
| 4:20 |
But JehovahYahweh hathhas taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be untoto him a people of inheritance, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 4:21 |
Furthermore JehovahYahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and swareswore that I should not go over the Jordan, and that I should not go in untoto that good land, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou for an inheritance:; |
| 4:22 |
but I must die in this land,. I must not go over the Jordan;, but yeyou shall go over, and possess that good land. |
| 4:23 |
TakeBe heed unto yourselvescareful, lest yeyou forget the covenant of JehovahYahweh your God, which he made with you, and make youyourselves a gravencarved image in the form of anything which JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas forbidden theeyou. |
| 4:24 |
For JehovahYahweh thyyour God is a devouring fire, a jealous God. |
| 4:25 |
When thouyou shaltfather beget children, and childrens children, and yeyou shall have been long in the land, and shallthen corrupt yourselves, and make a gravencarved image in the form of anything, and shall do that which is evil in theYahweh sightyour ofGods Jehovahsight thy God, to provoke him to anger;, |
| 4:26 |
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this daytoday, that yeyou shallwill soon utterly perish from off the land whereuntowhich yeyou go over the Jordan to possess it;. yeYou shallwill not prolong your days uponon it, but shallwill utterly be destroyed. |
| 4:27 |
AndYahweh Jehovah will scatter you among the peoples, and yeyou shallwill be left few in number among the nations, whitherwhere JehovahYahweh shallwill lead you away. |
| 4:28 |
AndThere thereyou yewill shall serve gods, the work of mens hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. |
| 4:29 |
But from thencethere yeyou shall seek JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and thouyou shaltwill find him, when thouyou searchestsearch after him with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul. |
| 4:30 |
When thouyou artare in tribulationoppression, and all these things arehave come uponon theeyou, in the latter days thouyou shaltshall return to JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and hearkenlisten untoto his voice:. |
| 4:31 |
forFor JehovahYahweh thyyour God is a merciful God;. heHe will not fail thee, you neithernor destroy theeyou, nor forget the covenant of thyyour fathers which he swareswore untoto them. |
| 4:32 |
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before theeyou, since the day that God created man uponon the earth, and from the one end of heaventhe untosky to the other, whether there hathhas been anyanything suchas thinggreat as this great thing is, or hathhas been heard like it? |
| 4:33 |
Did ever a people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the midstmiddle of the fire, as thouyou hasthave heard, and live? |
| 4:34 |
Or hathhas God assayedtried to go and take him a nation fromfor thehimself midstfrom ofamong another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that JehovahYahweh your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? |
| 4:35 |
UntoIt theewas itshown wasto showed, you so that thouyou mightestmight know that JehovahYahweh he is God;. thereThere is noneno one else besides him. |
| 4:36 |
Out of heaven he made theeyou to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee:you. andOn upon earth he made theeyou to see his great fire; and thouyou heardestheard his words out of the midstmiddle of the fire. |
| 4:37 |
AndBecause because he loved thyyour fathers, therefore he chose their seedoffspring after them, and brought theeyou out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt; |
| 4:38 |
to drive out nations from before theeyou greater and mightier than thouyou, to bring theeyou in, to give theeyou their land for an inheritance, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 4:39 |

Then Moses set apart three cities beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising;sunrise, |
| 4:42 |
that the manslayerman slayer might flee thitherthere, thatwho slayethkills his neighbor unawares, unintentionally and hateddidnt hate him not in time past;, and that fleeing untoto one of these cities he might live: |
| 4:43 |
namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, for the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, for the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, for the Manassites. |
| 4:44 |
AndThis this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:. |
| 4:45 |
theseThese are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which Moses spakespoke untoto the children of Israel, when they came forth out of Egypt, |
| 4:46 |
beyond the Jordan, in the valley overopposite against Beth peorPeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dweltlived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, struck when they came forth out of Egypt. |
| 4:47 |
AndThey they took possession of his land in possession, and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan toward the sunrisingsunrise; |
| 4:48 |
from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, even untoto mountMount SionZion thealso samecalled is Hermon, |
| 4:49 |
and all the Arabah beyond the Jordan eastward, even untoto the sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah. |
| 5:1 |
And Moses called untoto all Israel, and said untoto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this daytoday, that yeyou may learn them, and observe to do them. |
| 5:2 |
JehovahYahweh our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. |
| 5:3 |
JehovahYahweh madedidnt notmake this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this daytoday. |
| 5:4 |
JehovahYahweh spakespoke with you face to face inon the mountmountain out of the midstmiddle of the fire, |
| 5:5 |
I stood between JehovahYahweh and you at that time, to show you theYahwehs word; of Jehovah: for yeyou were afraid because of the fire, and wentdidnt notgo up intoonto the mount, mountain saying, |
| 5:6 |
I am JehovahYahweh thyyour God, who brought theeyou out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. |
| 5:7 |
ThouYou shaltshall have no other gods before me. |
| 5:8 |
ThouYou shaltshall not make unto thee a gravencarved image, norfor yourself—any likeness of anythingwhat that is in heaven above, or thatwhat is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:. |
| 5:9 |
thouYou shaltshall not bow yourself down thyselfto unto them, nor serve them;, for I, Jehovah,Yahweh thyyour God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers uponon the children, and uponon the third and uponon the fourth generation of themthose thatwho hate me; |
| 5:10 |
and showing lovingkindnessloving untokindness to thousands of themthose thatwho love me and keep my commandments. |
| 5:11 |
ThouYou shaltshall not takemisuse the name of JehovahYahweh thyyour God; in vain: for JehovahYahweh will not hold him guiltless thatwho takethmisuses his name in vain. |
| 5:12 |
Observe the sabbathSabbath day, to keep it holy, as JehovahYahweh thyyour God commanded theeyou. |
| 5:13 |
SixYou daysshall shaltlabor thousix labordays, and do all thyyour work; |
| 5:14 |
but the seventh day is a sabbathSabbath untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God:, in itwhich thouyou shaltshall not do any work,—neither thouyou, nor thyyour son, nor thyyour daughter, nor thyyour manmale servant, nor thyyour maidfemale servant, nor thineyour ox, nor thineyour assdonkey, nor any of thyyour cattlelivestock, nor thyyour stranger thatwho is within thyyour gates; that thyyour manmale servant and thyyour maidfemale servant may rest as well as thouyou. |
| 5:15 |
AndYou thoushall shalt remember that thouyou wastwere a servant in the land of Egypt, and JehovahYahweh thyyour God brought theeyou out thenceof there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm:. thereforeTherefore JehovahYahweh thyyour God commanded theeyou to keep the sabbathSabbath day. |
| 5:16 |
Honor thyyour father and thyyour mother, as JehovahYahweh thyyour God commanded thee;you, that thyyour days may be long, and that it may go well with thee, you in the land which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou. |
| 5:17 |
ThouYou shaltshall not killmurder. |
| 5:18 |
NeitherYou shaltshall thounot commit adultery. |
| 5:19 |
NeitherYou shaltshall thounot steal. |
| 5:20 |
NeitherYou shaltshall thounot beargive false witnesstestimony against thyyour neighbor. |
| 5:21 |
NeitherYou shaltshall thounot covet thyyour neighbors wife;. neitherNeither shaltshall thouyou desire thyyour neighbors house, his field, or his manmale servant, or his maidfemale servant, his ox, or his assdonkey, or anything that is thyyour neighbors. |
| 5:22 |
TheseYahweh wordsspoke Jehovahthese spakewords untoto all your assembly inon the mountmountain out of the midstmiddle of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice:. andHe he added no more. AndHe he wrote them uponon two tablesstone of stonetablets, and gave them untoto me. |
| 5:23 |
AndWhen ityou came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midstmiddle of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, thatyou ye came near untoto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; |
| 5:24 |
and yeyou said, Behold, JehovahYahweh our God hathhas showedshown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midstmiddle of the fire:. weWe have seen thistoday day that God dothdoes speak with man, and he livethlives. |
| 5:25 |
Now therefore, why should we die? forFor this great fire will consume us:. ifIf we hear theYahweh voiceour ofGods Jehovahvoice our God any more, then we shall die. |
| 5:26 |
For who is there of all flesh, thatwho hathhas heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midstmiddle of the fire, as we have, and lived? |
| 5:27 |
Go thou near, and hear all that JehovahYahweh our God shall say:, and speaktell thou unto us all that JehovahYahweh our God shalltells speak unto theeyou; and we will hear it, and do it. |
| 5:28 |
AndYahweh Jehovah heard the voice of your words, when yeyou spakespoke untoto me; and JehovahYahweh said untoto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken untoto thee:you. theyThey have well said all that they have spoken. |
| 5:29 |
Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for everforever! |
| 5:30 |
Go saytell to them, Return ye to your tents. |
| 5:31 |
But as for theeyou, stand thou here by me, and I will speaktell untoyou thee all the commandmentcommandments, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which thouyou shaltshall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it. |
| 5:32 |
YeYou shall observe to do therefore as JehovahYahweh your God hathhas commanded you:. yeYou shall not turn asideaway to the right hand or to the left. |
| 5:33 |
YeYou shall walk in all the way which JehovahYahweh your God hathhas commanded you, that yeyou may live, and that it may be well with you, and that yeyou may prolong your days in the land which yeyou shall possess. |
| 6:1 |
Now thisthese isare the commandmentcommandments, the statutes, and the ordinances, which JehovahYahweh your God commanded to teach you, that yeyou might do them in the land whitherthat yeyou go over to possess it; |
| 6:2 |
that thouyou mightestmight fear JehovahYahweh thyyour God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command theeyou—you, thou, your and thy son, and thyyour sons son, all the days of thyyour life; and that thyyour days may be prolonged. |
| 6:3 |
Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it;, that it may be well with theeyou, and that yeyou may increase mightily, as JehovahYahweh, the God of thyyour fathers, hathhas promised untoto theeyou, in a land flowing with milk and honey. |
| 6:4 |
Hear, O Israel: JehovahYahweh is our God. Yahweh is one Jehovah:. |
| 6:5 |
andYou thoushall shalt love JehovahYahweh thyyour God with all thyyour heart, and with all thyyour soul, and with all thyyour might. |
| 6:6 |
AndThese these words, which I command theeyou this daytoday, shall be uponon thyyour heart; |
| 6:7 |
and thouyou shaltshall teach them diligently untoto thyyour children, and shaltshall talk of them when thouyou sittestsit in thyyour house, and when thouyou walkestwalk by the way, and when thouyou liestlie down, and when thouyou risestrise up. |
| 6:8 |
AndYou thoushall shalt bind them for a sign uponon thyyour hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thineyour eyes. |
| 6:9 |
AndYou thoushall shalt write them uponon the door posts of thyyour house, and uponon thyyour gates. |
| 6:10 |
AndIt it shall be, when JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land which he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give theeyou, great and goodly cities, which thouyou buildestdidnt notbuild, |
| 6:11 |
and houses full of all good things, which thouyou filledstdidnt notfill, and cisterns hewndug out, which thouyou hewedstdidnt notdig, vineyards and olive trees, which thouyou plantedstdidnt notplant, and thouyou shaltshall eat and be full; |
| 6:12 |
then beware lest thouyou forget JehovahYahweh, who brought theeyou forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. |
| 6:13 |
ThouYou shaltshall fear JehovahYahweh thyyour God; and himyou shaltshall thouserve servehim, and shaltshall swear by his name. |
| 6:14 |
YeYou shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples thatwho are roundaround about you;, |
| 6:15 |
for JehovahYahweh thyyour God inamong theyou midst of thee is a jealous God;, lest the anger of JehovahYahweh thyyour God be kindled against theeyou, and he destroy theeyou from off the face of the earth. |
| 6:16 |
YeYou shall not tempt JehovahYahweh your God, as yeyou tempted him in Massah. |
| 6:17 |
YeYou shall diligently keep the commandments of JehovahYahweh your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hathhas commanded theeyou. |
| 6:18 |
AndYou thoushall shalt do that which is right and good in theYahwehs sight, of Jehovah; that it may be well with thee, you and that thouyou mayestmay go in and possess the good land which JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, |
| 6:19 |
to thrust out all thineyour enemies from before theeyou, as JehovahYahweh hathhas spoken. |
| 6:20 |
When thyyour son askethasks theeyou in time to come, saying, What meando the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which JehovahYahweh our God hathhas commanded you mean? |
| 6:21 |
then thouyou shaltshall saytell untoyour thy son, We were Pharaohs bondmenslaves in Egypt:. andYahweh Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand; |
| 6:22 |
and JehovahYahweh showed signsgreat and wonders, awesome greatsigns and sore, wonders uponon Egypt, uponon Pharaoh, and uponon all his house, before our eyes; |
| 6:23 |
and he brought us out from thencethere, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swareswore untoto our fathers. |
| 6:24 |
AndYahweh Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear JehovahYahweh our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as atwe thisare daytoday. |
| 6:25 |
AndIt it shall be righteousness untoto us, if we observe to do all thisthese commandmentcommandments before JehovahYahweh our God, as he hathhas commanded us. |
| 7:1 |
When JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land whitherwhere thouyou goestgo to possess it, and shallcasts cast out many nations before thee, you—the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, —seven nations greater and mightier than thouyou; |
| 7:2 |
and when JehovahYahweh thyyour God shalldelivers deliver them up before theeyou, and thouyou shaltstrike smite them;, then thouyou shaltshall utterly destroy them:. thouYou shaltshall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy untoto them;. |
| 7:3 |
neitherYou shaltshall thounot make marriages with them;. thyYou daughtershall thou shalt not give untoyour daughter to his son, nor hisshall daughteryou shalttake thouhis takedaughter untofor thyyour son. |
| 7:4 |
For hethat willwould turn away thyyour sonsons from following me, that they may serve other gods:. soSo willYahwehs the anger ofwould Jehovah be kindled against you, and he willwould destroy theeyou quickly. |
| 7:5 |
But thusyou shall ye deal with them like this: yeyou shall break down their altars, and dash their pillars in pieces their pillars, andcut hew down their AsherimAsherah poles, and burn their gravenengraved images with fire. |
| 7:6 |
For thouyou artare a holy people untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God:. JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas chosen theeyou to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples thatwho are uponon the face of the earth. |
| 7:7 |
JehovahYahweh diddidnt not set his love uponon you, nor choose you, because yeyou were more in number than any people; for yeyou were the fewest of all peoples:; |
| 7:8 |
but because JehovahYahweh lovethloves you, and because he woulddesires to keep the oath which he swareswore untoto your fathers, hathYahweh Jehovahhas brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. |
| 7:9 |
Know therefore that JehovahYahweh thyyour God, hehimself is God, the faithful God, who keepethkeeps covenant and lovingkindnessloving kindness to a thousand generations with themthose thatwho love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations, |
| 7:10 |
and repayethrepays themthose thatwho hate him to their face, to destroy them:. heHe will not be slack to him thatwho hatethhates him,. heHe will repay him to his face. |
| 7:11 |
ThouYou shaltshall therefore keep the commandmentcommandments, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command theeyou this daytoday, to do them. |
| 7:12 |
AndIt it shall come to passhappen, because yeyou hearkenlisten to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that JehovahYahweh thyyour God will keep with theeyou the covenant and the lovingkindnessloving kindness which he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers:. |
| 7:13 |
andHe he will love theeyou, and bless theeyou, and multiply thee;you. heHe will also bless the fruit of thyyour body and the fruit of thyyour ground, thyyour grain and thyyour new wine and thineyour oil, the increase of thyyour cattlelivestock and the young of thyyour flock, in the land which he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers to give theeyou. |
| 7:14 |
ThouYou shaltwill be blessed above all peoples:. thereThere shallwont not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattlelivestock. |
| 7:15 |
AndYahweh Jehovah will take away from theeyou all sickness; and he will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thouyou knowestknow, willon he put upon theeyou, but will lay them uponon all themthose thatwho hate theeyou. |
| 7:16 |
AndYou thoushall shalt consume all the peoples thatwhom JehovahYahweh thyyour God shall deliver untoto thee;you. thineYour eye shall not pity them:. neitherYou shaltshall thounot serve their gods; for that willwould be a snare untoto theeyou. |
| 7:17 |
If thouyou shaltshall say in thyyour heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? |
| 7:18 |
thouyou shaltshall not be afraid of them:. thouYou shaltshall remember well remember what JehovahYahweh thyyour God did untoto Pharaoh, and untoto all Egypt;: |
| 7:19 |
the great trials which thineyour eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, wherebyby Jehovahwhich thyYahweh your God brought theeyou out:. soSo shall JehovahYahweh thyyour God do untoto all the peoples of whom thouyou artare afraid. |
| 7:20 |
Moreover JehovahYahweh thyyour God will send the hornet among them, until theythose thatwho are left, and hide themselves, perish from before theeyou. |
| 7:21 |
ThouYou shaltshall not be affrightedscared atof them; for JehovahYahweh thyyour God is inamong the midst of theeyou, a great God and aawesome terribleGod. |
| 7:22 |
AndYahweh Jehovahyour thy God will cast out those nations before theeyou by little andby little:. thouYou mayestmay not consume them at once, lest the beastsanimals of the field increase uponon theeyou. |
| 7:23 |
But JehovahYahweh thyyour God will deliver them up before theeyou, and will discomfitconfuse them with a great discomfitureconfusion, until they beare destroyed. |
| 7:24 |
AndHe he will deliver their kings into thyyour hand, and thouyou shaltshall make their name to perish from under heaven:the theresky. shallNo noone manwill be able to stand before thee, you until thouyou have destroyed them. |
| 7:25 |
TheYou gravenshall burn the engraved images of their gods shall ye burn with fire:. thouYou shaltshall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it untofor theeyourself, lest thouyou be snared thereinin it; for it is an abomination to JehovahYahweh thyyour God. |
| 7:26 |
AndYou thoushall shalt not bring an abomination into thyyour house, and become a devoted thing like unto it:. thouYou shaltshall utterly detest it,. andYou thoushall shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing. |
| 8:1 |
AllYou theshall commandmentobserve whichto Ido commandall theethe thiscommandments daywhich shallI yecommand observeyou to dotoday, that yeyou may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto your fathers. |
| 8:2 |
AndYou thoushall shalt remember all the way which JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas led theeyou these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble theeyou, to provetest theeyou, to know what was in thyyour heart, whether thouyou wouldestwould keep his commandments, or not. |
| 8:3 |
AndHe he humbled theeyou, andallowed sufferedyou thee to hungerbe hungry, and fed theeyou with manna, which thouyou knewestdidnt notknow, neither did thyyour fathers know;, that he might maketeach theeyou know that man dothdoes not live by bread only, but man lives by everythingevery word that proceedethproceeds out of theYahwehs mouth of Jehovah doth man live. |
| 8:4 |
ThyYour raimentclothing waxeddidnt notgrow old uponon theeyou, neither did thyyour foot swell, these forty years. |
| 8:5 |
AndYou thoushall shalt consider in thyyour heart, that, as a man chastenethdisciplines his son, so JehovahYahweh thyyour God chastenethdisciplines theeyou. |
| 8:6 |
AndYou thoushall shalt keep the commandments of JehovahYahweh thyyour God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. |
| 8:7 |
For JehovahYahweh thyyour God bringethbrings theeyou into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountainssprings, and springs, underground water flowing forthinto in valleys and hills; |
| 8:8 |
a land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey; |
| 8:9 |
a land whereinin thouwhich shaltyou shall eat bread without scarcenessscarcity, thouyou shaltshall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thouyou mayestmay dig copper. |
| 8:10 |
AndYou thoushall shalt eat and be full, and thouyou shaltshall bless JehovahYahweh thyyour God for the good land which he hathhas given theeyou. |
| 8:11 |
Beware lest thouyou forget JehovahYahweh thyyour God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command theeyou this day:today; |
| 8:12 |
lest, when thouyou hasthave eaten and artare full, and hasthave built goodlyfine houses, and dweltlived thereinin them; |
| 8:13 |
and when thyyour herds and thyyour flocks multiply, and thyyour silver and thyyour gold is multiplied, and all that thouyou hasthave is multiplied; |
| 8:14 |
then thyyour heart might be lifted up, and thouyou forget JehovahYahweh thyyour God, who brought theeyou forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; |
| 8:15 |
who led theeyou through the great and terrible wilderness, whereinwith werevenomous fierysnakes serpents and scorpions, and thirsty ground where there was no water; who broughtpoured theewater forthfor wateryou out of the rock of flint; |
| 8:16 |
who fed theeyou in the wilderness with manna, which thyyour fathers knewdidnt not;know, that he might humble theeyou, and that he might prove theeyou, to do theeyou good at thyyour latter end:; |
| 8:17 |
and lest thouyou say in thyyour heart, My power and the might of my hand hathhas gotten me this wealth. |
| 8:18 |
But thouyou shaltshall remember JehovahYahweh thyyour God, for it is he thatwho givethgives theeyou power to get wealth;, that he may establish his covenant which he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 8:19 |
AndIt it shall be, if thouyou shaltshall forget JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you thistoday day that yeyou shall surely perish. |
| 8:20 |
As the nations that JehovahYahweh makethmakes to perish before you, so you shall ye perish;, because yeyou wouldwouldnt notlisten hearkento untoYahweh theyour Gods voice of Jehovah your God. |
| 9:1 |
Hear, O Israel:! thouYou artare to pass over the Jordan this daytoday, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than thyselfyourself, cities great and fortified up to heaventhe sky, |
| 9:2 |
a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom thouyou knowestknow, and of whom thouyou hasthave heard say, Who can stand before the sons of Anak? |
| 9:3 |
Know therefore thistoday day, that JehovahYahweh thyyour God is he who goethgoes over before theeyou as a devouring fire;. heHe will destroy them, and he will bring them down before thee:you. soSo shaltyou thoushall drive them out, and make them to perish quickly, as JehovahYahweh hathhas spoken untoto theeyou. |
| 9:4 |
SpeakDont notsay thou in thyyour heart, after thatYahweh Jehovahyour thy God hathhas thrust them out from before theeyou, saying, For my righteousness JehovahYahweh hathhas brought me in to possess this land; whereasbecause forYahweh thedrives wickednessthem ofout thesebefore nationsyou Jehovahbecause dothof drivethe themwickedness outof fromthese before theenations. |
| 9:5 |
Not for thyyour righteousness, or for the uprightness of thyyour heart, dostdo thouyou go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations JehovahYahweh thyyour God dothdoes drive them out from before theeyou, and that he may establish the word which JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. |
| 9:6 |
Know therefore, that JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethdoesnt theegive notyou this good land to possess it for thyyour righteousness;, for thouyou artare a stiffneckedstiff necked people. |
| 9:7 |
Remember, forgetand thoudont notforget, how thouyou provokedstprovoked JehovahYahweh thyyour God to wrath in the wilderness:. fromFrom the day that thouyou wentestleft forth out of the land of Egypt, until yeyou came untoto this place, yeyou have been rebellious against JehovahYahweh. |
| 9:8 |
Also in Horeb yeyou provoked JehovahYahweh to wrath, and JehovahYahweh was angry with you to destroy you. |
| 9:9 |
When I washad gone up intoonto the mountmountain to receive the tablesstone of stonetablets, even the tablestablets of the covenant which JehovahYahweh made with you, then I abodestayed inon the mountmountain forty days and forty nights;. I did neither eatate bread nor drinkdrank water. |
| 9:10 |
AndYahweh Jehovah delivered untoto me the two tablesstone oftablets stone written with theGods finger. ofOn God; and on them waswere written according to all the words, which JehovahYahweh spakespoke with you inon the mountmountain out of the midstmiddle of the fire in the day of the assembly. |
| 9:11 |
AndIt it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that JehovahYahweh gave me the two tablesstone of stonetablets, even the tablestablets of the covenant. |
| 9:12 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hencehere; for thyyour people thatwhom thouyou hasthave brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves;. theyThey arehave quickly turned asideaway outfrom of the way which I commanded them;. theyThey have made them a molten image. for themselves! |
| 9:13 |
Furthermore JehovahYahweh spakespoke untoto me, saying, I have seen thisthese people, and, behold, itthey isare a stiffneckedstiff necked people:. |
| 9:14 |
letLeave me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaventhe sky; and I will make of theeyou a nation mightier and greater than they. |
| 9:15 |
So I turned and came down from the mountmountain, and the mountmountain was burning with fire:. andThe the two tablestablets of the covenant were in my two hands. |
| 9:16 |
And I looked, and, behold, yeyou had sinned against JehovahYahweh your God;. yeYou had made youyourselves a moltenmolded calf:. yeYou had quickly turned asideaway quicklyfrom out of the way which JehovahYahweh had commanded you. |
| 9:17 |
And I took hold of the two tablestablets, and castthrew them out of my two hands, and brakebroke them before your eyes. |
| 9:18 |
And I fell down before JehovahYahweh, as at the first, forty days and forty nights;. I did neither eatate bread nor drinkdrank water;, because of all your sin which yeyou sinned, in doing that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger. |
| 9:19 |
For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewithwith Jehovahwhich Yahweh was wrothangry against you to destroy you. But JehovahYahweh hearkenedlistened untoto me that time also. |
| 9:20 |
AndYahweh Jehovah was very angry enough with Aaron to destroy him:. and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time. |
| 9:21 |
And I took your sin, the calf which yeyou had made, and burntburned it with fire, and stampedcrushed it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust:. and I castthrew theits dust thereof into the brook that descended out of the mountmountain. |
| 9:22 |
AndAt at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth hattaavah,Hattaavah yeyou provoked JehovahYahweh to wrath. |
| 9:23 |
AndWhen whenYahweh Jehovah sent you from Kadesh barneaBarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you;, thenyou ye rebelled against the commandment of JehovahYahweh your God, and yeyou believeddidnt believe him not,or norlisten hearkened to his voice. |
| 9:24 |
YeYou have been rebellious against JehovahYahweh from the day that I knew you. |
| 9:25 |
So I fell down before JehovahYahweh the forty days and forty nights that I fell down, because JehovahYahweh had said he would destroy you. |
| 9:26 |
And I prayed untoto JehovahYahweh, and said, O Lord JehovahYahweh, dont destroy notyour thy people and thineyour inheritance, that thouyou hasthave redeemed through thyyour greatness, that thouyou hasthave brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand. |
| 9:27 |
Remember thyyour servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob;. Dont look notat unto the stubbornness of this people, nor toat their wickedness, nor toat their sin, |
| 9:28 |
lest the land whenceyou thoubrought broughtest us out from say, Because JehovahYahweh was not able to bring them into the land which he promised untoto them, and because he hated them, he hathhas brought them out to slaykill them in the wilderness. |
| 9:29 |
Yet they are thyyour people and thineyour inheritance, which thouyou broughtestbrought out by thyyour great power and by thineyour outstretched arm. |
| 10:1 |
At that time JehovahYahweh said untoto me, HewCut thee two tablesstone oftablets stone like unto the first, and come up untoto me intoonto the mountmountain, and make thee an ark of wood. |
| 10:2 |
And I will write on the tablestablets the words that were on the first tablestablets which thouyou brakestbroke, and thouyou shaltshall put them in the ark. |
| 10:3 |
So I made an ark of acacia wood, and hewedcut two tablesstone oftablets stone like unto the first, and went up intoonto the mountmountain, having the two tablestablets in my hand. |
| 10:4 |
AndHe he wrote on the tablestablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which JehovahYahweh spakespoke untoto you inon the mountmountain out of the midstmiddle of the fire in the day of the assembly:; and JehovahYahweh gave them untoto me. |
| 10:5 |
And I turned and came down from the mountmountain, and put the tablestablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are as JehovahYahweh commanded me. |
| 10:6 |
AndThe the children of Israel journeyedtraveled from Beeroth Bene jaakanJaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priests office in his steadplace. |
| 10:7 |
From thencethere they journeyedtraveled untoto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water. |
| 10:8 |
At that time JehovahYahweh set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of theYahwehs covenant of Jehovah, to stand before JehovahYahweh to minister untoto him, and to bless in his name, untoto this day. |
| 10:9 |
WhereforeTherefore Levi hathhas no portion nor inheritance with his brethrenbrothers; JehovahYahweh is his inheritance, according as JehovahYahweh thyyour God spakespoke untoto him. |
| 10:10 |
And I stayed inon the mountmountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights:; and JehovahYahweh hearkenedlistened untoto me that time also;. JehovahYahweh would not destroy theeyou. |
| 10:11 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, Arise, take thyyour journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land, which I swareswore untoto their fathers to give untoto them. |
| 10:12 |
And nowNow, Israel, what dothdoes JehovahYahweh thyyour God require of theeyou, but to fear JehovahYahweh thyyour God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve JehovahYahweh thyyour God with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul, |
| 10:13 |
to keep theYahwehs commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command theeyou thistoday day for thyyour good? |
| 10:14 |
Behold, untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God belongethbelongs heaven, and the heaven of heavens, and the earth, with all that is therein. |
| 10:15 |
Only JehovahYahweh had a delight in thyyour fathers to love them, and he chose their seedoffspring after them, even you above all peoples, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 10:16 |
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffneckedstiff necked. |
| 10:17 |
For JehovahYahweh your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of Lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terribleawesome, who regardethdoesnt notrespect persons, noror takethtake rewardbribes. |
| 10:18 |
He dothexecutes execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and lovethloves the sojourner, foreigner in giving him food and raimentclothing. |
| 10:19 |
LoveTherefore yelove therefore the sojourner;foreigner, for yeyou were sojournersforeigners in the land of Egypt. |
| 10:20 |
ThouYou shaltshall fear JehovahYahweh thyyour God;. himYou shaltshall thou serve; andhim. toYou himshall shaltcling thouto cleavehim, and you shall swear by his name shalt thou swear. |
| 10:21 |
He is thyyour praise, and he is thyyour God, thatwho hathhas done for theeyou these great and terribleawesome things, which thineyour eyes have seen. |
| 10:22 |
ThyYour fathers went down into Egypt with threescoreseventy and ten persons; and now JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas made theeyou as the stars of heaventhe sky for multitude. |
| 11:1 |
Therefore thouyou shaltshall love JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and keep his chargeinstructions, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments, alwayalways. |
| 11:2 |
AndKnow know ye this day: —for I dont speak not with your children thatwho have not known, and thatwho have not seen the chastisement of JehovahYahweh your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm, |
| 11:3 |
and his signs, and his works, which he did in the midstmiddle of Egypt untoto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and untoto all his land; |
| 11:4 |
and what he did untoto the army of Egypt, untoto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how JehovahYahweh hathhas destroyed them untoto this day; |
| 11:5 |
and what he did untoto you in the wilderness, until yeyou came untoto this place; |
| 11:6 |
and what he did untoto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; —how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, andwith their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midstmiddle of all Israel:; |
| 11:7 |
but your eyes have seen all theof Yahwehs great work of Jehovah which he did. |
| 11:8 |
Therefore you shall ye keep all the entire commandment which I command theeyou this daytoday, that yeyou may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whitherthat yeyou go over to possess it; |
| 11:9 |
and that yeyou may prolong your days in the land, which JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto your fathers to give untoto them and to their seedoffspring, a land flowing with milk and honey. |
| 11:10 |
For the land, whitherwhere thouyou goestgo in to possess it,isnt islike not as the land of Egypt, fromthat whenceyou ye came out of, where thouyou sowedstsowed thyyour seed, and wateredstwatered it with thyyour foot, as a garden of herbs; |
| 11:11 |
but the land, whitherthat yeyou go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, andwhich drinkethdrinks water offrom the rain of heaventhe sky, |
| 11:12 |
a land which JehovahYahweh thyyour God carethcares for:. theYahweh eyesyour ofGods Jehovaheyes thy God are always uponon it, from the beginning of the year even untoto the end of the year. |
| 11:13 |
AndIt it shall come to passhappen, if yeyou shall hearkenlisten diligently untoto my commandments which I command you this daytoday, to love JehovahYahweh your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, |
| 11:14 |
that I will give the rain offor your land in its season, the formerearly rain and the latter rain, that thouyou mayestmay gather in thyyour grain, andyour thy new wine, and thineyour oil. |
| 11:15 |
And I will give grass in thyyour fields for thyyour cattlelivestock, and thouyou shaltshall eat and be full. |
| 11:16 |
TakeBe heed to yourselvescareful, lest your heart be deceived, and yeyou turn aside, away andto serve other gods, and worship them; |
| 11:17 |
and theYahwehs anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he shut up the heavens, sky so that there shallis be no rain, and the land shalldoesnt not yield its fruit; and yeyou perish quickly from off the good land which JehovahYahweh givethgives you. |
| 11:18 |
Therefore you shall ye lay up these my words of mine in your heart and in your soul;. andYou ye shall bind them for a sign uponon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. |
| 11:19 |
AndYou ye shall teach them to your children, talking of them, when thouyou sittestsit in thyyour house, and when thouyou walkestwalk by the way, and when thouyou liestlie down, and when thouyou risestrise up. |
| 11:20 |
AndYou thoushall shalt write them uponon the door posts of thyyour house, and uponon thyyour gates; |
| 11:21 |
that your days mayand beyour multiplied, childrens and the days ofmay yourbe children, multiplied in the land which JehovahYahweh swareswore untoto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. |
| 11:22 |
For if yeyou shall diligently keep all thisthese commandmentcommandments which I command you, —to do itthem, to love JehovahYahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleavecling untoto him;— |
| 11:23 |
then Yahweh will Jehovah drive out all these nations from before you, and yeyou shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves. |
| 11:24 |
Every place whereonon which the sole of your foot shalltreads tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even untoto the hinderwestern sea shall be your border. |
| 11:25 |
ThereNo shallman nowill man be able to stand before you:. JehovahYahweh your God shallwill lay the fear of you and the dread of you uponon all the land that yeyou shall tread uponon, as he hathhas spoken untoto you. |
| 11:26 |
Behold, I set before you thistoday day a blessing and a curse: |
| 11:27 |
the blessing, if yeyou shalllisten hearkento unto the commandments of JehovahYahweh your God, which I command you this daytoday; |
| 11:28 |
and the curse, if yeyou shalldo not hearkenlisten untoto the commandments of JehovahYahweh your God, but turn asideaway out of the way which I command you this daytoday, to go after other gods, which yeyou have not known. |
| 11:29 |
AndIt it shall come to passhappen, when JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land whitherthat thouyou goestgo to possess it, that thouyou shaltshall set the blessing uponon mountMount Gerizim, and the curse uponon mountMount Ebal. |
| 11:30 |
AreArent they not beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites thatwho dwell in the Arabah, overnear against Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh? |
| 11:31 |
For yeyou are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which JehovahYahweh your God givethgives you, and yeyou shall possess it, and dwell thereinin it. |
| 11:32 |
AndYou ye shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you this daytoday. |
| 12:1 |
These are the statutes and the ordinances which yeyou shall observe to do in the land which JehovahYahweh, the God of thyyour fathers, hathhas given theeyou to possess it, all the days that yeyou live uponon the earth. |
| 12:2 |
YeYou shall surely destroy all the places whereinin which the nations that yeyou shall dispossess served their gods,: uponon the high mountains, and uponon the hills, and under every green tree:. |
| 12:3 |
andYou ye shall break down their altars, and dash their pillars in pieces their pillars, and burn their AsherimAsherah poles with fire;. andYou ye shall hewcut down the gravenengraved images of their gods;. andYou ye shall destroy their name out of that place. |
| 12:4 |
YeYou shall not do so untoto JehovahYahweh your God. |
| 12:5 |
But untoto the place which JehovahYahweh your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, evenyou untoshall seek his habitation shall ye seek, and thitheryou thoushall shaltcome come;there. |
| 12:6 |
andYou thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heavewave offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewillfree will offerings, and the firstlingsfirstborn of your herd and of your flock: there. |
| 12:7 |
andThere thereyou ye shall eat before JehovahYahweh your God, and yeyou shall rejoice in all that yeyou put your hand untoto, yeyou and your households, whereinin Jehovahwhich thyYahweh your God hathhas blessed theeyou. |
| 12:8 |
YeYou shall not do after all the things that we do here this daytoday, every man whatsoeverwhatever is right in his own eyes; |
| 12:9 |
for yeyou arehavent not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou. |
| 12:10 |
But when yeyou go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which JehovahYahweh your God causethcauses you to inherit, and he givethgives you rest from all your enemies roundaround aboutyou, so that yeyou dwell in safety;, |
| 12:11 |
then it shall comehappen to pass that to the place which JehovahYahweh your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, thitherthere you shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heavewave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which yeyou vow untoto JehovahYahweh. |
| 12:12 |
AndYou ye shall rejoice before JehovahYahweh your God—you, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menmale servants, and your maidfemale servants, and the Levite thatwho is within your gates, forasmuchbecause as he hathhas no portion nor inheritance with you. |
| 12:13 |
TakeBe heedcareful tothat thyselfyou thatdont thou offer notyour thy burnt offerings in every place that thouyou seestsee; |
| 12:14 |
but in the place which JehovahYahweh shallchooses choose in one of thyyour tribes, there thouyou shaltshall offer thyyour burnt offerings, and there thouyou shaltshall do all that I command theeyou. |
| 12:15 |
Notwithstanding,Yet thouyou mayestmay kill and eat fleshmeat within all thyyour gates, after all the desire of thyyour soul, according to theYahweh blessingyour ofGods Jehovahblessing thy God which he hathhas given thee:you. theThe unclean and the clean may eat thereofof it, as of the gazelle, and as of the hartdeer. |
| 12:16 |
Only yeyou shall not eat the blood;. thouYou shaltshall pour it out uponon the earth aslike water. |
| 12:17 |
ThouYou mayestmay not eat within thyyour gates the tithe of thyyour grain, or of thyyour new wine, or of thineyour oil, or the firstlingsfirstborn of thyyour herd or of thyyour flock, nor any of thyyour vows which thouyou vowestvow, nor thyyour freewillfree will offerings, nor the heavewave offering of thyyour hand; |
| 12:18 |
but thouyou shaltshall eat them before JehovahYahweh thyyour God in the place which JehovahYahweh thyyour God shall choose,: thouyou, andyour thy son, andyour thy daughter, andyour thymale man servant, andyour thyfemale maid servant, and the Levite thatwho is within thyyour gates:. andYou thoushall shalt rejoice before JehovahYahweh thyyour God in all that thouyou puttestput thyyour hand untoto. |
| 12:19 |
TakeBe heedcareful tothat thyselfyou thatdont thou forsake not the Levite as long as thouyou livestlive in thyyour land. |
| 12:20 |
When JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallenlarges enlargeyour thy border, as he hathhas promised theeyou, and thouyou shalt say, I willwant to eat fleshmeat, because thyyour soul desirethdesires to eat flesh;meat, thouyou mayestmay eat fleshmeat, after all the desire of thyyour soul. |
| 12:21 |
If the place which JehovahYahweh thyyour God shall choose, to put his name there,is be too far from theeyou, then thouyou shaltshall kill of thyyour herd and of thyyour flock, which JehovahYahweh hathhas given theeyou, as I have commanded theeyou; and thouyou mayestmay eat within thyyour gates, after all the desire of thyyour soul. |
| 12:22 |
Even as the gazelle and as the hartdeer is eaten, so thouyou shaltshall eat thereof:of theit. The unclean and the clean may eat thereofof it alike. |
| 12:23 |
Only be sure that thouyou dont eat not the blood:; for the blood is the life;. andYou thoushall shalt not eat the life with the fleshmeat. |
| 12:24 |
ThouYou shaltshall not eat it;. thouYou shaltshall pour it out uponon the earth aslike water. |
| 12:25 |
ThouYou shaltshall not eat it;, that it may go well with thee, you and with thyyour children after theeyou, when thouyou shalt do that which is right in theYahwehs eyes of Jehovah. |
| 12:26 |
Only thyyour holy things which thouyou hasthave, and thyyour vows, thouyou shaltshall take, and go untoto the place which JehovahYahweh shall choose;. |
| 12:27 |
andYou thoushall shalt offer thyyour burnt offerings, the fleshmeat and the blood, uponon theYahweh altaryour ofGods Jehovahaltar. thyThe God; and the blood of thyyour sacrifices shall be poured out uponon theYahweh altaryour ofGods Jehovahaltar, thy God; and thouyou shaltshall eat the fleshmeat. |

| 12:29 |
When JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallcuts cut off the nations from before thee, you whitherwhere thouyou goestgo in to dispossess them, and thouyou dispossessestdispossess them, and dwellestdwell in their land;, |
| 12:30 |
takebe heedcareful to thyself that thouyou beare not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee;you, and that thouyou not inquire not after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods? evenI so will I do likewise. |
| 12:31 |
ThouYou shaltshall not do so untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God:; for every abomination to JehovahYahweh, which he hatethhates, they have they done untoto their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods. |
| 12:32 |
WhatWhatever thing soever I command you, that you shall ye observe to do:. thouYou shaltshall not add theretoto it, nor diminishtake away from it. |
| 13:1 |
If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he givegives theeyou a sign or a wonder, |
| 13:2 |
and the sign or the wonder comecomes to pass, whereofof which he spakespoke untoto theeyou, saying, LetLets us go after other gods, which thouyou hasthave not known, and letlets us serve them;, |
| 13:3 |
thouyou shaltshall not hearkenlisten untoto the words of that prophet, or untoto that dreamer of dreams:; for JehovahYahweh your God provethis testing you, to know whether yeyou love JehovahYahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul. |

| 13:5 |
AndThat that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he hathhas spoken rebellion against JehovahYahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed theeyou out of the house of bondage, to draw theeyou aside out of the way which JehovahYahweh thyyour God commanded theeyou to walk in. So shaltyou thoushall putremove away the evil from theamong midst of theeyou. |
| 13:6 |
If thyyour brother, the son of thyyour mother, or thyyour son, or thyyour daughter, or the wife of thyyour bosom, or thyyour friend, thatwho is as thineyour own soul, enticeentices theeyou secretly, saying, LetLets us go and serve other gods, —which thouyou hasthave not known, thouyou, nor thyyour fathers; |
| 13:7 |
of the gods of the peoples thatwho are roundaround about you, nighnear untoto theeyou, or far off from theeyou, from the one end of the earth even untoto the other end of the earth;— |
| 13:8 |
thouyou shaltshall not consent untoto him, nor hearkenlisten untoto him; neither shall thineyour eye pity him, neither shaltshall thouyou spare, neither shaltshall thouyou conceal him:; |
| 13:9 |
but thouyou shaltshall surely kill him;. thyYour hand shall be first uponon him to put him to death, and afterwards the handhands of all the people. |
| 13:10 |
AndYou thoushall shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hathhas sought to draw theeyou away from JehovahYahweh thyyour God, who brought theeyou out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. |
| 13:11 |
AndAll all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do noany more any such wickedness aslike this isamong in the midst of theeyou. |
| 13:12 |
If thouyou shalt hear tellabout concerning one of thyyour cities, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou to dwell there, saying, that |
| 13:13 |
Certaincertain basewicked fellows arehave gone out from theamong midstyou of thee, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, LetLets us go and serve other gods, which yeyou have not known;, |
| 13:14 |
then shaltyou thoushall inquire, and make searchinvestigate, and ask diligently;. andBehold, behold, if it beis truthtrue, and the thing certain, that such abomination iswas wroughtdone inamong the midst of theeyou, |
| 13:15 |
thouyou shaltshall surely smitestrike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, andwith all that is therein and theits cattle thereoflivestock, with the edge of the sword. |
| 13:16 |
AndYou thoushall shalt gather all theits spoilplunder of it into the midstmiddle of theits street thereof, and shaltshall burn with fire the city, andwith all theof spoilits thereof every whitplunder, untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God:. andIt it shall be a heap forforever. ever;It it shall not be built again. |
| 13:17 |
AndNothing there shall cleave nought of the devoted thing shall cling to thyyour hand;, that JehovahYahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show theeyou mercy, and have compassion uponon thee, you and multiply theeyou, as he hathhas sworn untoto thyyour fathers;, |
| 13:18 |
when thouyou shaltlisten hearken to theYahweh voiceyour ofGods Jehovah thy Godvoice, to keep all his commandments which I command theeyou this daytoday, to do that which is right in theYahweh eyesyour ofGods Jehovah thy Godeyes. |
| 14:1 |
YeYou are the children of JehovahYahweh your God:. yeYou shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. |
| 14:2 |
For thouyou artare a holy people untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and JehovahYahweh hathhas chosen theeyou to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples thatwho are uponon the face of the earth. |
| 14:3 |
ThouYou shaltshall not eat any abominable thing. |
| 14:4 |
These are the beastsanimals which yeyou may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat, |
| 14:5 |
the hartdeer, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygargibex, and the antelope, and the chamois. |
| 14:6 |
AndEvery everyanimal beast that partethparts the hoof, and hathhas the hoof clovensplit in two, and chewethchews the cud, among the beastsanimals, thatyou may ye eat. |
| 14:7 |
Nevertheless these yeyou shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of themthose thatwho have the hoof clovensplit: the camel, and the hare, and the coney;rabbit. becauseBecause they chew the cud but dont part not the hoof, they are unclean untoto you. |
| 14:8 |
AndThe the swinepig, because heit partethhas thea split hoof but chewethdoesnt notchew the cud, he is unclean untoto you:. ofYou their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcassesmeat. yeYou shall not touch their carcasses. |
| 14:9 |

andYou whatsoevershall hath not finseat andwhatever scalesdoesnt yehave shallfins notand eat;scales. itIt is unclean untoto you. |
| 14:11 |
Of all clean birds yeyou may eat. |
| 14:12 |
But these are they of which yeyou shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier eaglevulture, and the osprayosprey, |
| 14:13 |
and the gledered kite, and the falcon, and the kite afterof itsany kind, |
| 14:14 |
and every raven afterof itsany kind, |
| 14:15 |
and the ostrich, and the night hawkowl, and the sea mewseagull, and the hawk afterof itsany kind, |
| 14:16 |
the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl, |
| 14:17 |

AndAll all winged creeping things are unclean untoto you:. theyThey shall not be eaten. |
| 14:20 |
Of all clean birds yeyou may eat. |
| 14:21 |
YeYou shall not eat of anything that diethdies of itself:. thouYou mayestmay give it untoto the sojournerforeigner thatliving among you who is within thyyour gates, that he may eat it; or thouyou mayestmay sell it untoto a foreigner:; for thouyou artare a holy people untoto JehovahYahweh thyyour God. ThouYou shaltshall not boil a kidyoung goat in its mothers milk. |
| 14:22 |
ThouYou shaltshall surely tithe all the increase of thyyour seed, that which comethcomes forthout fromof the field year by year. |
| 14:23 |
AndYou thoushall shalt eat before JehovahYahweh thyyour God, in the place which he shallchooses choose, to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thyyour grain, of thyyour new wine, and of thineyour oil, and the firstlingsfirstborn of thyyour herd and of thyyour flock; that thouyou mayestmay learn to fear JehovahYahweh thyyour God always. |
| 14:24 |
AndIf if the way beis too long for theeyou, so that thouyou artare not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God shall choose, to set his name there is too far from you, when JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallblesses bless thee;you, |
| 14:25 |

andYou thoushall shalttrade bestow the money for whatsoeverwhatever thyyour soul desireth, desires: for oxencattle, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoeverwhatever thyyour soul askethasks of thee;you. andYou thoushall shalt eat there before JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and thouyou shaltshall rejoice, thouyou and thyyour household. |
| 14:27 |
AndYou shall not forsake the Levite thatwho is within thyyour gates, thou shalt not forsake him; for he hathhas no portion nor inheritance with theeyou. |
| 14:28 |
At the end of every three years thouyou shaltshall bring forth all the tithe of thineyour increase in the same year, and shaltshall laystore it up within thyyour gates:. |
| 14:29 |

Of a foreigner thouyou mayestmay exactrequire it:; but whatsoeverwhatever of thineyours is with thyyour brother, thyyour hand shall release. |
| 15:4 |
HowbeitHowever there shallwill be no poor with theeyou for JehovahYahweh will surely bless theeyou in the land which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou for an inheritance to possess it, |

andIt it shall be with him, and he shall read thereinfrom it all the days of his life;, that he may learn to fear JehovahYahweh his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them; |
| 17:20 |
that his heart not be not lifted up above his brethrenbrothers, and that he not turn notaway aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left:, to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midstmiddle of Israel. |
| 18:1 |

| 18:3 |
AndThis this shall be the priests due from the people, from themthose thatwho offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give untoto the priest: the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the mawinner parts. |
| 18:4 |
TheYou shall give him the first fruits of thyyour grain, of thyyour new wine, and of thineyour oil, and the first of the fleece of thyyour sheep, shalt thou give him. |
| 18:5 |
For JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas chosen him out of all thyyour tribes, to stand to minister in theYahwehs name of Jehovah, him and his sons for everforever. |
| 18:6 |
AndIf if a Levite comecomes from any of thyyour gates out of all Israel, where he sojournethlives, and comecomes with all the desire of his soul untoto the place which JehovahYahweh shall choose;, |
| 18:7 |
then he shall minister in the name of JehovahYahweh his God, as all his brethrenbrothers the Levites do, who stand there before JehovahYahweh. |
| 18:8 |
They shall have like portions to eat, besidesin addition to that which comethcomes offrom the sale of his patrimonyfamily possessions. |
| 18:9 |
When thouyou arthave come into the land which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou, thouyou shaltshall not learn to doimitate after the abominations of those nations. |
| 18:10 |
There shall not be found with theeyou anyanyone onewho thatmakes maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one thatwho usethuses divination, one thatwho practisethtells auguryfortunes, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, |
| 18:11 |
or a charmer, or asomeone consulterwho consults with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. |
| 18:12 |
For whosoeverwhoever doethdoes these things is an abomination untoto Jehovah:Yahweh. andBecause because of these abominations, JehovahYahweh thyyour God dothdrives drive them out from before theeyou. |
| 18:13 |
ThouYou shaltshall be perfectblameless with JehovahYahweh thyyour God. |
| 18:14 |
For these nations, that thouyou shaltshall dispossess, hearkenlisten untoto themthose thatwho practisepractice augury, sorcery and untoto diviners; but as for theeyou, JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas not sufferedallowed theeyou so to do. |
| 18:15 |
JehovahYahweh thyyour God will raise up untoto theeyou a prophet from theamong midst of theeyou, of thyyour brethrenbrothers, like unto me;. untoYou himshall yelisten shallto hearken;him. |
| 18:16 |
This is according to all that thouyou desiredstdesired of JehovahYahweh thyyour God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again theYahweh voicemy ofGods Jehovah my Godvoice, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die not. |
| 18:17 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto me, They have well said that which they have spoken. |
| 18:18 |
I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethrenbrothers, like untoyou. thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak untoto them all that I shall command him. |
| 18:19 |
AndIt it shall come to passhappen, that whosoeverwhoever will not hearkenlisten untoto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. |
| 18:20 |
But the prophet, thatwho shallspeaks speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or thatwho shallspeaks speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die. |
| 18:21 |
AndYou ifmay thou say in thyyour heart, How shall we know the word which JehovahYahweh hathhas not spoken? |
| 18:22 |
whenWhen a prophet speakethspeaks in theYahwehs name of Jehovah, if the thing doesnt follow not, nor come to passhappen, that is the thing which JehovahYahweh hathhas not spoken:. theThe prophet hathhas spoken it presumptuously,. thouYou shaltshall not be afraid of him. |
| 19:1 |
When JehovahYahweh thyyour God shallcuts cut off the nations, whose land JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou, and thouyou succeedestsucceed them, and dwellestdwell in their cities, and in their houses;, |
| 19:2 |
thouyou shaltshall set apart three cities for theeyourselves in the midstmiddle of thyyour land, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou to possess it. |
| 19:3 |
ThouYou shaltshall prepare thee the way, and divide the borders of thyyour land, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God causethcauses theeyou to inherit, into three parts, that every manslayerman slayer may flee thitherthere. |
| 19:4 |
AndThis this is the case of the manslayer, man thatslayer who shall flee thitherthere and live: whosoWhoever killethkills his neighbor unawaresunintentionally, and hateddidnt hate him not in time past;— |
| 19:5 |
as when a man goethgoes into the forest with his neighbor to hewchop wood, and his hand fetchethswings a stroke with the axeax to cut down the tree, and the head slippethslips from the helve, handle and lightethhits upon his neighbor, so that he dieth; dies—he shall flee untoto one of these cities and live:. |
| 19:6 |
lestOtherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer, man slayer while hishot heartanger is hot,in his heart and overtake him, because the way is long, and smitestrike him mortally;, whereaseven though he was not worthy of death, inasmuchbecause as he hateddidnt hate him not in time past. |
| 19:7 |
WhereforeTherefore I command thee, you saying,to Thou shalt set apart three cities for theeyourselves. |
| 19:8 |
AndIf ifYahweh Jehovahyour thy God enlargeenlarges thyyour border, as he hathhas sworn untoto thyyour fathers, and givegives theeyou all the land which he promised to give untoto thyyour fathers; |
| 19:9 |
and if thouyou shalt keep all this commandment to do it, which I command theeyou this daytoday, to love JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and to walk ever in his ways;, then shaltyou thoushall add three cities more for theeyourselves, besidesin addition to these three:. |
| 19:10 |
This is so that innocent blood bewill not be shed in the midstmiddle of thyyour land, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou for an inheritance, andleaving so blood beguilt uponon theeyou. |
| 19:11 |
But if any man hatehates his neighbor, andlies lie in wait for him, andrises rise up against him, andstrikes smite him mortally so that he diethdies, and he fleeflees into one of these cities; |
| 19:12 |
then the elders of his city shall send and fetchbring him thencethere, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. |
| 19:13 |
ThineYour eye shall not pity him, but thouyou shaltshall putpurge away the innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with theeyou. |
| 19:14 |
ThouYou shaltshall not remove thyyour neighbors landmark, which they of old time have set, in thineyour inheritance which thouyou shaltshall inherit, in the land that JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou to possess it. |
| 19:15 |
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth:sins. atAt the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established. |
| 19:16 |
If an unrighteous witness riserises up against any man to testify against him of wrong doingwrongdoing, |
| 19:17 |
then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before JehovahYahweh, before the priests and the judges thatwho shall be in those days; |
| 19:18 |
and the judges shall make diligent inquisition:; and, behold, if the witness beis a false witness, and havehas testified falsely against his brother;, |
| 19:19 |
then you shall ye do untoto him, as he had thought to do untoto his brother:. soSo shaltyou thoushall putremove away the evil from theamong midst of theeyou. |
| 19:20 |
AndThose thosewho that remain shall hear, and fear, and shallwill henceforthnever again commit no more any such evil inamong the midst of theeyou. |
| 19:21 |
AndYour thine eyes shall not pity;: life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. |
| 20:1 |
When thouyou goestgo forthout to battle against thineyour enemies, and seestsee horses, and chariots, and a people more numerous than thouyou, thouyou shaltshall not be afraid of them; for JehovahYahweh thyyour God is with thee, who brought theeyou up out of the land of Egypt, is with you. |
| 20:2 |
AndIt it shall be, when yeyou draw nighnear untoto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak untoto the people, |
| 20:3 |
and shall saytell unto them, Hear, O Israel, yeyou draw nighnear thistoday dayto unto battle against your enemies:. Dont let not your heart faint;! fearDont notbe afraid, nor tremble, neither be yescared affrightedof at them; |
| 20:4 |
for JehovahYahweh your God is he thatwho goethgoes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. |
| 20:5 |
AndThe the officers shall speak untoto the people, saying, What man is there thatwho hathhas built a new house, and hathhas not dedicated it? letLet him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it. |
| 20:6 |
AndWhat what man is there thatwho hathhas planted a vineyard, and hathhas not used theits fruit thereof? letLet him go and return untoto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man use theits fruit thereof. |
| 20:7 |
AndWhat what man is there thatwho hathhas betrothedpledged to be married to a wife, and hathhas not taken her? letLet him go and return untoto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her. |
| 20:8 |
AndThe the officers shall speak further untoto the people, and they shall say, What man is there thatwho is fearful and faint hearted? letLet him go and return untoto his house, lest his brethrensbrothers heart melt as his heart. |
| 20:9 |
AndIt it shall be, when the officers have madefinished an end of speaking untoto the people, that they shall appoint captains of hostsarmies at the head of the people. |
| 20:10 |
When thouyou drawestdraw nighnear untoto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace untoto it. |
| 20:11 |
AndIt it shall be, if it makegives theeyou answer of peace, and openopens untoto theeyou, then it shall be, that all the people thatwho are found therein shall become tributaryforced untolaborers theeto you, and shall serve theeyou. |
| 20:12 |
AndIf if it will make no peace with theeyou, but will make war against theeyou, then thouyou shaltshall besiege it:. |
| 20:13 |
andWhen whenYahweh Jehovahyour thy God deliverethdelivers it into thyyour hand, thouyou shaltshall smitestrike every male thereofof it with the edge of the sword:; |
| 20:14 |
but the women, and the little ones, and the cattlelivestock, and all that is in the city, even all theits spoil thereofplunder, shaltyou thoushall take for aplunder preyfor untoyourself. thyself; You andmay thouuse shalt eat the spoilplunder of thineyour enemies, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas given theeyou. |
| 20:15 |
Thus shaltyou thoushall do untoto all the cities which are very far off from theeyou, which are not of the cities of these nations. |
| 20:16 |
But of the cities of these peoples, that JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou for an inheritance, thouyou shaltshall save alive nothing that breathethbreathes; |
| 20:17 |
but thouyou shaltshall utterly destroy them: the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite;, as JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas commanded theeyou; |
| 20:18 |
that they not teach you not to dofollow after all their abominations, which they have done untofor their gods; so would yeyou sin against JehovahYahweh your God. |
| 20:19 |
When thouyou shaltshall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thouyou shaltshall not destroy theits trees thereof by wielding an axeax against them; for thouyou mayestmay eat of them,. andYou thoushall shalt not cut them down;, for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged ofby theeyou? |
| 20:20 |
Only the trees ofthat whichyou thouknow knowest that they are not trees for food, thouyou shaltshall destroy and cut them down;. andYou thoushall shalt build bulwarks against the city that makethmakes war with theeyou, until it fallfalls. |
| 21:1 |
If onesomeone beis found slain in the land which JehovahYahweh thyyour God givethgives theeyou to possess it, lying in the field, and it beisnt not known who hathhas smittenstruck him;, |
| 21:2 |
then thyyour elders and thyyour judges shall come forthout, and they shall measure untoto the cities which are roundaround about him thatwho is slain:. |
| 21:3 |
andIt it shall be, that the elders of the city which is nearest untoto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd, which hathhasnt not been wroughtworked with, and which hathhas not drawn in the yoke;. |
| 21:4 |
andThe the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer untodown to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifers neck there in the valley. |
| 21:5 |
AndThe the priests the sons of Levi shall come near;, for them JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas chosen to minister untoto him, and to bless in theYahwehs name of Jehovah; and according to their word shall every controversy and every strokeassault be decided. |
| 21:6 |
AndAll all the elders of that city, whowhich areis nearest untoto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;. |
| 21:7 |
andThey they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it. |
| 21:8 |
Forgive, O JehovahYahweh, thyyour people Israel, whom thouyou hasthave redeemed, and sufferdont notallow innocent blood toamong remainyour in the midst of thy people Israel. AndThe the blood shall be forgiven them. |
| 21:9 |
So shaltyou thoushall put away the innocent blood from theamong midst of theeyou, when thouyou shaltshall do that which is right in theYahwehs eyes of Jehovah. |
| 21:10 |
When thouyou goestgo forthout to battle against thineyour enemies, and JehovahYahweh thyyour God deliverethdelivers them into thyyour hands, and thouyou carriestcarry them away captive, |
| 21:11 |
and seestsee among the captives a beautiful woman, and thouyou hastare aattracted desireto unto her, and wouldestdesire to take her toas theeyour to wife;, |
| 21:12 |

| 29:12 |
that thouyou mayestmay enter into the covenant of JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and into his oath, which JehovahYahweh thyyour God makethmakes with theeyou this day;today, |

and that theall wholeof its land thereof is brimstonesulfur, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nordoesnt bearethproduce, nor does any grass growethgrow thereinin it, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which JehovahYahweh overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:. |
| 29:24 |
evenEven all the nations shallwill say, WhereforeWhy hathhas JehovahYahweh done thusthis untoto this land? whatWhat meanethdoes the heat of this great anger mean? |
| 29:25 |
Then men shallwill say, Because they forsookabandoned the covenant of JehovahYahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, |
| 29:26 |
and went and served other gods, and worshippedworshiped them, gods that they knewdidnt not, know and that he had not given untoto them:. |

Neither is it beyond the sea, that thouyou shouldestshould say, Who shallwill go over the sea for us, and bring it untoto us, and makeproclaim usit to hear itus, that we may do it? |
