6:9 AndThe the man of God sent untoto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thouyou pass not suchpass athis place;, for thither the Syrians are coming down there.
6:10 AndThe the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once noror twice.
6:11 AndThe theking heart of theSyrias kingheart of Syria was sorevery troubled forabout this. thing; He and he called his servants, and said untoto them, WillWont yeyou not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?
6:12 AndOne one of his servants said, NayNo, my Lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet thatwho is in Israel, tellethtells the king of Israel the words that thouyou speakestspeak in thyyour bedchamberbedroom.
6:13 AndHe he said, Go and see where he is, that I may send and fetchget him. AndHe it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
6:14 Therefore sent he thithersent horses, and chariots, and a great host:army andthere. theyThey came by night, and compassedsurrounded the city about.
6:15 AndWhen when the servant of the man of God washad risen early, and gone forthout, behold, aan hostarmy with horses and chariots was roundaround about the city. AndHis his servant said untoto him, Alas, my master! howWhat shall we do?
6:16 AndHe he answered, FearDont not;be afraid, for theythose thatwho are with us are more than theythose thatwho are with them.
6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, JehovahYahweh, Iplease pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. AndYahweh Jehovah opened the eyesyoung ofmans theeyes, young man; and he saw:; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire roundaround about Elisha.
6:18 AndWhen when they came down to him, Elisha prayed untoto JehovahYahweh, and said, SmitePlease strike this people, I pray thee, with blindness. AndHe hestruck smote them with blindness according to theElishas word of Elisha.
6:19 And Elisha said untoto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city:. followFollow me, and I will bring you to the man whom yeyou seek. AndHe he led them to Samaria.
6:20 AndWhen it came to pass, when they werehad come into Samaria, that Elisha said, JehovahYahweh, open thethese mens eyes of these men, that they may see. AndYahweh Jehovah opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midstmiddle of Samaria.
6:21 AndThe the king of Israel said untoto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smitestrike them? shallShall I smitestrike them?
6:22 AndHe he answered, ThouYou shaltshall not smitestrike them:. wouldestWould thouyou smitestrike those whom thouyou hasthave taken captive with thyyour sword and with thyyour bow? setSet bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, andthen go to their master.
6:23 AndHe he prepared a great provisionfeast for them;. andAfter when they hadate eaten and drunkdrank, he sent them away, and they went to their master. AndSo the bands of Syria camestopped noraiding more into the land of Israel.
6:24 AndAfter it came to pass after this, thatBenhadad Ben hadad king of Syria gathered all his hostarmy, and went up, and besieged Samaria.
6:25 AndThere there was a great famine in Samaria:. andBehold, behold, they besieged it, until ana asssdonkeys head was sold for fourscoreeighty pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of doves dung for five pieces of silver.
6:26 AndAs as the king of Israel was passing by uponon the wall, there cried a woman untocried to him, saying, Help, my Lord, O king.!
6:27 AndHe he said, If JehovahYahweh dodoesnt not help theeyou, whencewhere shallcould I get help theefor you? outFrom of the threshing floor, or outfrom of the winepresswine press?
6:28 AndThen the king saidasked unto her, What ailethis theeyour problem? AndShe she answered, This woman said untoto me, Give thyyour son, that we may eat him to daytoday, and we will eat my son to morrowtomorrow.
6:29 So we boiled my son, and didate eat him:; and I said untoto her on the next day, Give thyup your son, that we may eat him; and she hathhas hidhidden her son.
6:30 AndWhen it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he renttore his clothes. nowNow he was passing by uponon the wall;, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth withinunderneath uponon his fleshbody.
6:31 Then he said, God do so to me, and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shallstays stand on him this daytoday.
6:32 But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him;. andThen the king sent a man from before him:; but erebefore the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, SeeDo yeyou see how this son of a murderer hathhas sent to take away my head? lookBehold, when the messenger comethcomes, shut the door, and hold the door fastshut against him:. isIsnt not the sound of his masters feet behind him?
6:33 AndWhile while he was yetstill talking with them, behold, the messenger came down untoto him:. andThen he said, Behold, this evil is offrom Jehovah;Yahweh. whyWhy should I wait for JehovahYahweh any longer?
7:1 And Elisha said, Hear yeYahwehs the word. ofYahweh Jehovah: thus saith Jehovahsays, ToTomorrow morrow about this time shall a measureseah of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, and two measuresseahs of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
7:2 Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if JehovahYahweh shouldmade make windows in heaven, mightcould this thing be? AndHe he said, Behold, thouyou shaltwill see it with thineyour eyes, but shaltwill not eat thereofof it.
7:3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate:. andThey they said to one to another, Why sitdo we sit here until we die?
7:4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shallwill die there;. andIf if we sit still here, we also die also. Now therefore come, and letlets ussurrender fallto unto the hostarmy of the Syrians:. ifIf they save us alive, we shallwill live; and if they kill us, we shallwill butonly die.
7:5 AndThey they rose up in the twilight, to go untoto the camp of the Syrians;. andWhen when they werehad come to the outermost part of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no man was there.
7:6 For the Lord had made the hostarmy of the Syrians to hear athe noisesound of chariots, and athe noisesound of horses, even the noise of a great host:army; and they said to one to another, LoBehold, the king of Israel hathhas hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to comeattack upon us.
7:7 WhereforeTherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their assesdonkeys, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
7:8 AndWhen when these lepers came to the outermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and didate eat and drinkdrank, andthen carried thenceaway silver, and gold, and raiment, clothing and went and hid it;. andThen they came back, and entered into another tent, and carried thencethings from there also, and went and hid itthem.
7:9 Then they said to one to another, We doarent notdoing well;right. thisToday day is a day of good tidingsnews, and we holdkeep oursilent. peace:If if we tarrywait tilluntil the morning light, punishment will overtake us;. nowNow therefore come, letlets us go and tell the kings household.
7:10 So they came and called untoto the portercity of the citygatekeepers; and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neithernot voiceeven ofa manmans voice, but the horses tied, and the assesdonkeys tied, and the tents as they were.
7:11 AndThen hethe gatekeepers called theout porters; and they told it to the kings household within.
7:12 AndThe the king arose in the night, and said untoto his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry;. thereforeTherefore are they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive, and get into the city.
7:13 AndOne one of his servants answered, andPlease said, let Let some people take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city. beholdBehold, they are aslike all the multitude of Israel thatwho are left in it;. beholdBehold, they are aslike all the multitude of Israel thatwho are consumed;. andLets let us send and see.
7:14 TheyTherefore they took therefore two chariots with horses; and the king sent afterthem theout hostto of the SyriansSyrian army, saying, Go and see.
7:15 AndThey they went after them untoto the Jordan:; and, lobehold, all the waypath was full of garments and vessels, equipment which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. AndThe the messengers returned, and told the king.
7:16 AndThe the people went out, and plundered the camp of the Syrians. So a measureseah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah.
7:17 AndThe the king had appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to havebe thein charge of the gate:; and the people trodtrampled uponover him in the gate, and he died as the man of God had said, who spakespoke when the king came down to him.
7:18 AndIt ithappened came to pass, as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measuresseahs of barley for a shekel, and a measureseah of fine flour for a shekel, shall be totomorrow morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria;
7:19 and that captain answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if JehovahYahweh shouldmade make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? and he said, Behold, thouyou shaltwill see it with thineyour eyes, but shaltwill not eat thereof:of it.
7:20 itIt camehappened tolike passthat evento so unto him;, for the people trodtrampled uponover him in the gate, and he died.
8:1 Now Elisha had spoken untoto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go, thouyou and thyyour household, and sojournstay wheresoeverfor thoua canstwhile sojourn:wherever you can; for JehovahYahweh hathhas called for a famine;. andIt itwill shall also come uponon the land for seven years.
8:2 AndThe the woman arose, and did according to the word of the man of God;Gods andword. sheShe went with her household, and sojournedlived in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
8:3 AndAt itthe cameend toof pass at the seven years end, that the woman returned outfrom of the land of the Philistines:. andThen she went forthout to crybeg unto the king for her house and for her land.
8:4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, TellPlease tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hathhas done.
8:5 AndAs it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored to life him thatwho was dead, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, criedbegged to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My Lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.
8:6 AndWhen when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed untoto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
8:7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and BenBenhadad hadad the king of Syria was sick;. andHe it was told him, saying, The man of God ishas come hitherhere.
8:8 AndThe the king said untoto Hazael, Take a present in thyyour hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of JehovahYahweh by him, saying, ShallWill I recover offrom this sickness?
8:9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels burden, and came and stood before him, and said, ThyYour son BenBenhadad hadad king of Syria hathhas sent me to theeyou, saying, ShallWill I recover offrom this sickness?
8:10 And Elisha said untoto him, Go, saytell unto him, ThouYou shaltwill surely recover; howbeithowever JehovahYahweh hathhas showedshown me that he shallwill surely die.
8:11 AndHe he settled his countenancegaze stedfastlysteadfastly uponon him, until he was ashamed:. andThen the man of God wept.
8:12 And Hazael said, Why weepethdo you weep, my Lord? AndHe he answered, Because I know the evil that thouyou wiltwill do untoto the children of Israel:. theirYou strongholdswill wiltset thoutheir setstrongholds on fire, and you will kill their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wiltwill dash in pieces their little ones in pieces, and rip up their pregnant women with child.
8:13 And Hazael said, But what is thyyour servant, who is but a dog, that he shouldcould do this great thing? And Elisha answered, JehovahYahweh hathhas showedshown me that thouyou shaltwill be king over Syria.
8:14 Then he departed from Elisha, and came to his master;, who said to him, What saiddid Elisha say to theeyou? AndHe he answered, He told me that thouyou wouldestwould surely recover.
8:15 AndOn itthe camenext to pass on the morrowday, that he took thea coverletthick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on histhe kings face, so that he died:. andThen Hazael reigned in his steadplace.
8:16 AndIn in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah then, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.
8:17 ThirtyHe andwas thirty two years old was he when he began to reign;. andHe he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
8:18 AndHe he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did theAhabs house, of Ahab: for he hadmarried theAhabs daughter. ofHe Ahab to wife; and he did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah.
8:19 HowbeitHowever, JehovahYahweh would not destroy Judah, for David his servants sake, as he promised him to give untoto him a lamp for his children alwayalways.
8:21 Then Joram passedcrossed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him:; and he rose up by night, and smotestruck the Edomites thatwho compassedsurrounded him about, with and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.
8:22 So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah untoto this day. Then did Libnah revoltrevolted at the same time.
8:23 AndThe the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
8:24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in theDavids city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his steadplace.
8:25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah beginbegan to reign.
8:26 TwoAhaziah andwas twenty two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. AndHis his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
8:27 AndHe he walked in the way of theAhabs house of Ahab, and did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, as did theAhabs house, of Ahab; for he was the son in law of theAhabs house of Ahab.
8:28 AndHe he went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth gilead:Gilead, and the Syrians wounded Joram.
8:29 AndKing king Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel offrom the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
9:1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said untoto him, GirdPut upyour thybelt loinson your waist, and take this vial of oil in thyyour hand, and go to Ramoth gileadGilead.
9:2 AndWhen whenyou thoucome comest thitherthere, lookfind out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him ariserise up from among his brethrenbrothers, and carrytake him to an inner chamberroom.
9:3 Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays, I have anointed theeyou king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarrydont notwait.
9:4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth gileadGilead.
9:5 AndWhen when he came, behold, the captains of the hostarmy were sitting;. andThen he said, I have ana errandmessage tofor theeyou, O captain. And Jehu said, UntoTo which one of us all? AndHe he said, To theeyou, O captain.
9:6 AndHe he arose, and went into the house;. andThen he poured the oil on his head, and said untoto him, Thus saith JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, says, I have anointed theeyou king over the people of JehovahYahweh, even over Israel.
9:7 AndYou thoumust shaltstrike smiteyour themaster Ahabs house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of JehovahYahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.
9:8 For the whole house of Ahab shallwill perish;. and I will cut off from Ahab everyeveryone manwho childurinates against a wall, andboth him thatwho is shut up and him thatwho is left at large in Israel.
9:9 And I will make theAhabs house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
9:10 AndThe the dogs shallwill eat Jezebel inon the portionplot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be noneno one to bury her. AndThen he opened the door, and fled.
9:11 ThenWhen Jehu came forthout to the servants of his Lord: and one said untoto him, Is all well? whereforeWhy camedid this madmadman fellowcome to theeyou? AndHe he said untoto them, YeYou know the man and whathow hishe talk wastalks.
9:12 AndThey they said, ItThat is false;a telllie. Tell us now. AndHe he said, ThusHe andsaid thus spake he to me, saying,Yahweh Thus saith Jehovahsays, I have anointed theeyou king over Israel.
9:13 Then they hastedhurried, and tookeach every man took his garmentcloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, Jehu is king.
9:14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram was keepingdefending Ramoth gileadGilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
9:15 but kingKing Joram washad returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Jehu said, If this beis your mindthinking, then let noneno one escape and go forth out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.
9:16 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel;, for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah washad come down to see Joram.
9:17 Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
9:18 So thereone went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king says, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hastdo thouyou have to do with peace? turnFall theein behind me.! AndThe the watchman toldsaid, saying, The messenger came to them, but he comethisnt notcoming back.
9:19 Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, ThusThe saithking the kingsays, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hastdo thouyou have to do with peace? turnFall theein behind me.!
9:20 AndThe the watchman toldsaid, saying, He came evento unto them, and comethisnt notcoming back:. andThe the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi;, for he drivethdrives furiously.
9:21 And Joram said, MakeGet ready.! AndThey theygot made ready his chariot ready. AndThen Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot,; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him inon the portion of Naboth the JezreeliteJezreelites land.
9:22 AndWhen it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? AndHe he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredomsprostitution of thyyour mother Jezebel and her witchcraftswitchcraft are so manyabound?
9:23 And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, ThereThis is treacherytreason, O Ahaziah.!
9:24 And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and smotestruck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
9:25 Then Jehu said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, TakePick him up, and castthrow him in the portionplot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how that, when Iyou and thouI rode together after Ahab his father, JehovahYahweh laid this burden uponon him:
9:26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saithsays JehovahYahweh; and I will requiterepay theeyou in this platplot of ground, saithsays JehovahYahweh. Now therefore take and cast him intoonto the platplot of ground, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah.
9:27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, SmiteStrike him also in the chariot:! andThey theystruck smote him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. AndHe he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
9:28 AndHis his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchretomb with his fathers in theDavids city of David.
9:29 AndIn in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
9:30 AndWhen when Jehu washad come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attiredadorned her head, and looked out at the window.
9:31 AndAs as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, IsDo ityou come in peace, thou Zimri, thyyou mastersmurderer murdererof your master?
9:32 AndHe he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? whoWho? AndTwo thereor three eunuchs looked out toat him two or three eunuchs.
9:33 AndHe he said, Throw her down.! So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses:. andThen he trodtrampled her under foot.
9:34 AndWhen when he washad come in, he didate eat and drink;drank. andThen he said, See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a kings daughter.
9:35 AndThey they went to bury her;, but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
9:36 WhereforeTherefore they came back, and told him. AndHe he said, This is theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, InThe thedogs portionwill ofeat Jezreelthe shallflesh theof dogsJezebel eaton the fleshplot of Jezebel;Jezreel,
9:37 and the body of Jezebel shallwill be as dung uponon the facesurface of the field inon theJezreels portion of Jezreelland, so that they shallwont not say, This is Jezebel.
10:1 Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent them to Samaria, untoto the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and untoto themthose thatwho brought up theAhabs sons of Ahab, saying,
10:2 AndNow now as soon as this letter comethcomes to you, seeingsince your masters sons are with you, and thereyou arehave with you chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armor;,
10:3 lookselect ye out the best and meetestfittest of your masters sons, and set him on his fathers throne, and fight for your masters house.
10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, the two kings stooddidnt notstand before him:! howHow then shall we stand?
10:5 AndHe hewho that was over the household, and he thatwho was over the city, the elders also, and theythose thatwho broughtraised up the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thyyour servants, and will do all that thouyou shaltask bid us;. weWe will not make any man king:. You do thou that which is good in thineyour eyes.
10:6 Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If yeyou beare on my side, and if yeyou will hearkenlisten untoto my voice, take ye the heads of the men who are your masters sons, and come to me to Jezreel by totomorrow morrow this time. Now the kings sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.
10:7 AndWhen it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the kings sons, and slewkilled them, even seventy personspeople, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them untoto him to Jezreel.
10:8 AndA theremessenger came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the kings sons. AndHe he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.
10:9 AndIn it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, YeYou are righteous:. beholdBehold, I conspired against my master, and slewkilled him;, but who smotekilled all these?
10:10 Know now that therenothing shallwill fall untoto the earth nothing of theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which JehovahYahweh spakespoke concerning theAhabs house. ofFor Ahab:Yahweh forhas Jehovah hath done that which he spakespoke by his servant Elijah.
10:11 So Jehu smotestruck all that remained of theAhabs house of Ahab in Jezreel, andwith all his great men, and his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him noneno one remaining.
10:12 AndHe he arose and departed, and went to Samaria. AndAs as he was at the shearing house of the shepherds inon the way,
10:13 Jehu met with the brethrenbrothers of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are yeyou? AndThey they answered, We are the brethrenbrothers of Ahaziah:. andWe weare gogoing down to salutegreet the children of the king and the children of the queen.
10:14 AndHe he said, Take them alive.! AndThey they took them alive, and slewkilled them at the pit of the shearing house, even forty two and forty men;. neitherHe leftdidnt heleave any of them.
10:15 AndWhen when he washad departed thencefrom there, he lightedmet on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him;. andHe hegreeted saluted him, and said to him, Is thyyour heart right, as my heart is with thyyour heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it beis, give me thyyour hand. AndHe he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
10:16 AndHe he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for JehovahYahweh. So they made him ride in his chariot.
10:17 AndWhen when he came to Samaria, he smotestruck all thatwho remained untoto Ahab in Samaria, tilluntil he had destroyed himthem, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke to Elijah.
10:18 And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said untoto them, Ahab served Baal a little;, but Jehu will serve him much.
10:19 Now therefore call untoto me all the prophets of Baal, all of his worshippersworshipers, and all of his priests;. letLet noneno one be wanting:absent, for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal;. whosoeverWhoever shallis be wantingabsent, he shall not live. But Jehu did itdeceptively, inintending subtlety, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippersworshipers of Baal.
10:20 And Jehu said, Sanctify a solemn assembly for Baal.! AndSo they proclaimed it.
10:21 And Jehu sent through all Israel:; and all the worshippersworshipers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that camedidnt notcome. AndThey they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was filled from one end to another.
10:22 AndHe he said untoto him thatwho waskept over the vestrywardrobe, Bring forthout vestmentsrobes for all the worshippersworshipers of Baal.! AndSo he brought themrobes forthout vestmentsto them.
10:23 And Jehu went, andwith Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal;. andThen he said untoto the worshippersworshipers of Baal, Search, and looksee that there be here with you none of the servants of JehovahYahweh are here with you, but only the worshippersworshipers of Baal only.
10:24 AndSo they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had appointed himfor fourscorehimself eighty men withoutoutside, and said, If any of the men whom I bring into your hands escape, he thatwho lettethlets him go, his life shall be for the life of him.
10:25 AndAs it came to pass, as soon as he had madefinished an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slaykill them;! letLet noneno comeone forthescape. AndSo they smotestruck them with the edge of the sword;. andThe the guard and the captains castthrew themthe bodies out, and went to the cityinner shrine of the house of Baal.
10:26 AndThey they brought forthout the pillars that were in the house of Baal, and burned them.
10:27 AndThey theybroke brake down the pillar of Baal, and brakebroke down the house of Baal, and made it a draught houselatrine, untoto this day.

17:2 AndHe he did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, yet not as the kings of Israel thatwho were before him.
17:3 AgainstShalmaneser himking of Assyria came up Shalmaneseragainst king of Assyriahim; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute.
17:4 AndThe the king of Assyria founddiscovered a conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year:. thereforeTherefore the king of Assyria shutseized him up, and bound him in prison.
17:5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
17:6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away untoto Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
17:7 AndIt it was so, because the children of Israel had sinned against JehovahYahweh their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
17:8 and walked in the statutes of the nations, whom JehovahYahweh cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they made.
17:9 AndThe the children of Israel secretly did secretly things that were not right against JehovahYahweh their God:; and they built them high places for themselves in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;
17:10 and they set them up for themselves pillars and AsherimAsherah uponpoles on every high hill, and under every green tree;
17:11 and there they burntburned incense in all the high places, as did the nations whom JehovahYahweh carried away before them did; and they wroughtdid wicked things to provoke JehovahYahweh to anger;
17:12 and they served idols, whereofof Jehovahwhich Yahweh had said untoto them, YeYou shall not do this thing.
17:13 Yet JehovahYahweh testified untoto Israel, and untoto Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
17:14 Notwithstanding, they would not hearlisten, but hardened their neck, like to the neck of their fathers, who believeddidnt notbelieve in JehovahYahweh their God.
17:15 AndThey they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified untoto them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and wentfollowed after the nations that were roundaround about them, concerning whom JehovahYahweh had chargedcommanded them that they should not do like them.
17:16 AndThey theyabandoned forsook all the commandments of JehovahYahweh their God, and made them molten images for themselves, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshippedworshiped all the hostarmy of heaventhe sky, and served Baal.
17:17 AndThey they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.
17:18 Therefore JehovahYahweh was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight:. thereThere was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
17:19 Also Judah keptdidnt notkeep the commandments of JehovahYahweh their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
17:20 AndYahweh Jehovah rejected all the seedoffspring of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the handhands of spoilersraiders, until he had cast them out of his sight.
17:21 For he renttore Israel from theDavids house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king:; and Jeroboam drove Israel from following JehovahYahweh, and made them sin a great sin.
17:22 AndThe the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departeddidnt notdepart from them;
17:23 until JehovahYahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he spakesaid by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria untoto this day.
17:24 AndThe the king of Assyria brought menpeople from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and dweltlived in theits cities thereof.
17:25 AndSo so it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feareddidnt notfear Jehovah:Yahweh. thereforeTherefore JehovahYahweh sent lions among them, which killed some of them.
17:26 WhereforeTherefore they spakespoke to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thouyou hasthave carried away, and placed in the cities of Samaria, dont know not the law of the god of the land:. thereforeTherefore he hathhas sent lions among them,; and, behold, they slaykill them, because they dont know not the law of the god of the land.
17:27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thitherthere one of the priests whom yeyou brought from thencethere; and let themhim go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.
17:28 So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dweltlived in Beth elBethel, and taught them how they should fear JehovahYahweh.
17:29 HowbeitHowever every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities whereinin which they dweltlived.
17:30 AndThe the men of Babylon made Succoth benothBenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
17:31 and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burntburned their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
17:32 So they feared JehovahYahweh, and also made unto them from among themselves priests of the high places for themselves, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
17:33 They feared JehovahYahweh, and also served their own gods, after the mannerways of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.
17:34 UntoTo this day they do afterwhat thethey formerdid manner:before. theyThey dont fear not JehovahYahweh, neitherand they do theynot afterfollow theirthe statutes, or afterthe their ordinances, or after the law, or after the commandment which JehovahYahweh commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
17:35 with whom JehovahYahweh had made a covenant, and chargedcommanded them, saying, YeYou shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:;
17:36 but Jehovahyou shall fear Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, him shall ye fear, and untoyou him shall ye bow yourselves to him, and toyou him shall yesacrifice sacrifice:to him.
17:37 andThe the statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, yeyou shall observe to do forforever evermore;more. andYou ye shall not fear other gods:.
17:38 andYou shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. yeYou shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods:.
17:39 butBut Jehovahyou yourshall Godfear shallYahweh yeyour fear;God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
17:40 HowbeitHowever they diddidnt not hearkenlisten, but they did afterwhat theirthey formerdid mannerbefore.
17:41 So these nations feared JehovahYahweh, and also served their gravenengraved images;. theirTheir children did likewise, and so did their childrens children,. They do as did their fathers, sodid doto they unto this day.
18:1 Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.
18:2 TwentyHe andwas twenty five years old was he when he began to reign;, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem:. andHis his mothers name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah.
18:3 AndHe he did that which was right in theYahwehs eyes of Jehovah, according to all that David his father had done.
18:4 He removed the high places, andbroke brake the pillars, and cut down the Asherah:. andHe healso brakebroke in pieces the brazenbronze serpent that Moses had made;, forbecause untoin those days the children of Israel didburned burn incense to it; and he called it Nehushtan.
18:5 He trusted in JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel;, so that after him was noneno one like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among them that were before him.
18:6 For he clavejoined towith Jehovah;Yahweh. heHe departeddidnt notdepart from following him, but kept his commandments, which JehovahYahweh commanded Moses.
18:7 AndYahweh Jehovah was with him;. whithersoeverWherever he went, forth he prospered:. andHe he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and serveddidnt serve him not.
18:8 He smotestruck the Philistines untoto Gaza and theits borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city.
18:9 AndIn it came to pass in the fourth year of kingKing Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
18:10 AndAt at the end of three years they took it:. inIn the sixth year of Hezekiah, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken.
18:11 AndThe the king of Assyria carried Israel away untoto Assyria, and put them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
18:12 because they obeyeddidnt notobey theYahweh voicetheir ofGods Jehovah their Godvoice, but transgressed his covenant, even all that Moses the servant of JehovahYahweh commanded, and would not hear it, noror do it.
18:13 Now in the fourteenth year of kingKing Hezekiah, did Sennacherib king of Assyria comecame up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.
18:14 And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria toat Lachish, saying, I have offended; returnyou. Withdraw from me:. thatThat which thouyou puttestput on me, I will I bear. AndThe the king of Assyria appointed untoto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
18:15 And Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and in the treasures of the kings house.
18:16 At that time, did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of theYahwehs temple of Jehovah, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
18:17 AndThe the king of Assyria sent Tartan, andRabsaris, Rab saris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to kingKing Hezekiah with a great army untoto Jerusalem. AndThey they went up and came to Jerusalem. AndWhen when they werehad come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fullers field.
18:18 AndWhen when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebnah the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder came out to them.
18:19 And Rabshakeh said untoto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, ThusThe saith the great king, the king of Assyria, says, What confidence is this whereinin thouwhich trustestyou trust?
18:20 ThouYou sayestsay but they are but vain words, There is counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dostdo thouyou trust, that thouyou hasthave rebelled against me?
18:21 Now, behold, thouyou trustesttrust uponin the staff of this bruised reed, even uponin Egypt;. whereonIf if a man leanleans on it, it will go into his hand, and pierce it:. soSo is Pharaoh king of Egypt untoto all thatwho trust on him.
18:22 But if yeyou saytell unto me, We trust in JehovahYahweh our God;, isisnt not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hathhas taken away, and hathhas said to Judah and to Jerusalem, YeYou shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
18:23 Now therefore, Iplease pray thee, give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give theeyou two thousand horses, if thouyou beare able on thyyour part to set riders uponon them.
18:24 How then canstcan thouyou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my masters servants, and put thyyour trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
18:25 AmHave I now come up without JehovahYahweh against this place to destroy it? JehovahYahweh said untoto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
18:26 Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah, untosaid to Rabshakeh, Speak,Please Ispeak pray thee, to thyyour servants in the Syrian language;, for we understand it:. andDont speak not with us in the Jews language, in the earshearing of the people thatwho are on the wall.
18:27 But Rabshakeh said untoto them, HathHas my master sent me to thyyour master, and to theeyou, to speak these words? hathHasnt he not sent me to the men thatwho sit on the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own waterurine with you?
18:28 Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews language, and spakespoke, saying, Hear ye the word of the great king, the king of Assyria.
18:29 ThusThe saithking the kingsays, LetDont notlet Hezekiah deceive you;, for he will not be able to deliver you out of his hand:.
18:30 neitherDont let Hezekiah make you trust in JehovahYahweh, saying, JehovahYahweh will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
18:31 HearkenDont notlisten to Hezekiah:. forFor thus saith the king of Assyria says, Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and eateveryone yeof everyyou oneeat offrom his own vine, and everyeveryone onefrom of his own fig tree, and everyone drink yewater everyfrom one the waters of his own cistern;
18:32 until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and of honey, that yeyou may live, and not die:. andDont hearkenlisten notto unto Hezekiah, when he persuadethpersuades you, saying, JehovahYahweh will deliver us.
18:33 HathHas any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
18:34 Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? whereWhere are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah? haveHave they delivered Samaria out of my hand?
18:35 Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that JehovahYahweh should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
18:36 But the people heldstayed their peacequiet, and answered him not a word; for the kings commandment was, saying,Dont Answeranswer him not.
18:37 Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, andcame with Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes renttorn, and told him theRabshakehs words of Rabshakeh.
19:1 AndWhen itKing came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he renttore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into theYahwehs house of Jehovah.
19:2 AndHe he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, untoto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
19:3 AndThey they said untoto him, ThusHezekiah saith Hezekiahsays, ThisToday day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of contumelyrejection; for the children arehave come to the point of birth, and there is notno strength to bringdeliver forththem.
19:4 It may be JehovahYahweh thyyour God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hathhas sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which JehovahYahweh thyyour God hathhas heard:. whereforeTherefore lift up thyyour prayer for the remnant that is left.
19:5 So the servants of kingKing Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
19:6 And Isaiah said untoto them, ThusTell shall ye say to your master, Thusthis: saithYahweh Jehovahsays, BeDont notbe afraid of the words that thouyou hasthave heard, wherewithwith which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
19:7 Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he shallwill hear tidingsnews, and shallwill return to his own land;. and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
19:8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah; for he had heard that he washad departed from Lachish.
19:9 AndWhen when he heard sayit said of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he ishas come out to fight against theeyou, he sent messengers again untoto Hezekiah, saying,
19:10 ThusTell shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, this: LetDont notlet thyyour God in whom thouyou trustesttrust deceive theeyou, saying, Jerusalem shallwill not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
19:11 Behold, thouyou hasthave heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly:. andWill shaltyou thou be delivered?
19:12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, —Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden thatwho were in Telassar?
19:13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?
19:14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it;. andThen Hezekiah went up untoto theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and spread it before JehovahYahweh.
19:15 And Hezekiah prayed before JehovahYahweh, and said, O JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, thatwho sittestare enthroned above the cherubim, thouyou artare the God, even thouyou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth;. thouYou hasthave made heaven and earth.
19:16 Incline thineyour ear, O JehovahYahweh, and hear;. openOpen thineyour eyes, O JehovahYahweh, and see;. andHear hear the words of Sennacherib, wherewithwhich he hathhas sent him to defy the living God.
19:17 Of a truthTruly, JehovahYahweh, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,
19:18 and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of mens hands, wood and stone;. thereforeTherefore they have destroyed them.
19:19 Now therefore, OYahweh Jehovah our God, save thou us, I beseechbeg theeyou, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thouyou, JehovahYahweh, artare God alone.
19:20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, Whereassays thouYou hasthave prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, and I have heard theeyou.
19:21 This is the word that JehovahYahweh hathhas spoken concerning him: The virgin daughter of Zion hathhas despised theeyou and laughedridiculed theeyou. toThe scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hathhas shaken her head at theeyou.
19:22 Whom hasthave thouyou defied and blasphemed? andAgainst against whom hasthave thouyou exalted thyyour voice and lifted up thineyour eyes on high? evenAgainst against the Holy One of Israel.!
19:23 By thyyour messengers, thouyou hasthave defied the Lord, and hasthave said, With the multitude of my chariots, am I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon;, and I will cut down theits tall cedars thereof, and theits choice fircypress trees thereof; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.
19:24 I have diggeddug and drunk strange waters, and withI the sole of my feet will I dry up all the rivers of Egypt with the sole of my feet.
19:25 HastHavent thouyou not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it of ancient times? nowNow I have I brought it to pass, that it should be thineyours to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.
19:26 Therefore their inhabitants werehad oflittle small power,. theyThey were dismayed and confounded;. theyThey were aslike the grass of the field, and aslike the green herb, aslike the grass on the housetops, and aslike grain blasted before it ishas grown up.
19:27 But I know thyyour sitting down, andyour thy going out, andyour thy coming in, and thyyour raging against me.
19:28 Because of thyyour raging against me, and because thineyour arrogancyarrogance ishas come up into minemy ears, therefore I will I put my hook in thyyour nose, and my bridle in thyyour lips, and I will turn theeyou back by the way by which thouyou camestcame.
19:29 AndThis thiswill shall be the sign untoto theeyou: yeThis shallyear, eatyou thiswill yeareat that which growethgrows of itself, and in the second year that which springethsprings offrom the samethat; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat thetheir fruit thereof.
19:30 AndThe the remnant that ishas escaped of the house of Judah shallwill again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
19:31 For out of Jerusalem shalla goremnant forthwill ago remnantout, and out of mountMount Zion theythose thatwho shall escape:. theYahwehs zeal ofwill Jehovah shall perform this.
19:32 Therefore thusYahweh saithsays Jehovah concerning the king of Assyria, He shallwill not come untoto this city, nor shoot an arrow there,. neitherHe shallwill henot come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
19:33 ByHe will return the same way that he came, by the same shall he return, and he shallwill not come untoto this city, saithsays JehovahYahweh.
19:34 For I will defend this city to save it, for minemy own sake, and for my servant Davids sake.
19:35 AndThat itnight, cameYahwehs toangel passwent thatout night, and thatstruck theone angelhundred ofeighty Jehovahfive wentthousand forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians. aWhen hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
19:36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returnedhome, and dweltlived at Nineveh.
19:37 AndAs it came to pass, as he was worshippingworshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer smotestruck him with the sword:; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esar haddonHaddon his son reigned in his steadplace.
20:1 In those days Hezekiah was Hezekiah sick untoand deathdying. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said untoto him, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays, Set thyyour house in order; for thouyou shaltwill die, and not live.
20:2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed untoto JehovahYahweh, saying,
20:3 Remember now, O JehovahYahweh, I beseechbeg theeyou, how I have walked before theeyou in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thyyour sight. And Hezekiah wept sorebitterly.
20:4 AndBefore it came to pass, before Isaiah washad gone out into the middle part of the city, thatYahwehs the word of Jehovah came to him, saying,
20:5 Turn back, and saytell to Hezekiah the prince of my people, Thus saith JehovahYahweh, the God of David thyyour father, says, I have heard thyyour prayer,. I have seen thyyour tears:. beholdBehold, I will heal thee;you. onOn the third day, thouyou shaltwill go up untoto theYahwehs house of Jehovah.
20:6 And I will add untoto thyyour days fifteen years;. and I will deliver theeyou and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria;. and I will defend this city for minemy own sake, and for my servant Davids sake.
20:7 And Isaiah said, Take a cake of figs. AndThey they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
20:8 And Hezekiah said untoto Isaiah, What shallwill be the sign that JehovahYahweh will heal me, and that I shallwill go up untoto theYahwehs house of Jehovah the third day?
20:9 And Isaiah said, This shallwill be the sign untoto theeyou from JehovahYahweh, that JehovahYahweh will do the thing that he hathhas spoken: shallshould the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?
20:10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to declinego forward ten steps:. nayNo, but let the shadow return backward ten steps.
20:11 And Isaiah the prophet cried untoto JehovahYahweh; and he brought the shadow ten steps backward, by which it had gone down on the dialsundial of Ahaz.
20:12 At that time Berodach baladanBaladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present untoto Hezekiah;, for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
20:13 And Hezekiah hearkenedlistened untoto them, and showed them all the housestorehouse of his precious things, —the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures:. thereThere was nothing in his house, noror in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showeddidnt show them not.
20:14 Then came Isaiah the prophet untocame kingto King Hezekiah, and said untoto him, What saiddid these men say? andFrom fromwhere whencedid came they untocome theeto you? And Hezekiah said, They arehave come from a far country, even from Babylon.
20:15 AndHe he said, What have they seen in thyyour house? And Hezekiah answered, AllThey have seen all that is in my house. haveThere they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showedshown them.
20:16 And Isaiah said untoto Hezekiah, Hear theYahwehs word of Jehovah.
20:17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thyyour house, and that which thyyour fathers have laid up in store untoto this day, shallwill be carried to Babylon:. nothingNothing shallwill be left, saithsays JehovahYahweh.
20:18 AndThey will take away some of thyyour sons thatwho shallwill issue from theeyou, whom thouyou shaltwill beget, shall they take awayfather; and they shallwill be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
20:19 Then Hezekiah said Hezekiahto unto Isaiah, GoodYahwehs is the word ofwhich Jehovahyou whichhave thouspoken hastis spokengood. He said moreover, IsIsnt it not so, if peace and truth shallwill be in my days?
20:20 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and brought water into the city, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
20:21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers;, and Manasseh his son reigned in his steadplace.
21:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign;, and he reigned fifty five and fifty years in Jerusalem:. andHis his mothers name was Hephzibah.
21:2 AndHe he did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, after the abominations of the nations whom JehovahYahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
21:3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he rearedraised up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as did Ahab king of Israel did, and worshippedworshiped all the hostarmy of heaventhe sky, and served them.
21:4 AndHe he built altars in theYahwehs house, of Jehovah, which whereofYahweh Jehovah said, InI Jerusalem will I put my name in Jerusalem.
21:5 AndHe he built altars for all the hostarmy of heaventhe sky in the two courts of theYahwehs house of Jehovah.
21:6 AndHe he made his son to pass through the fire, andpracticed practised augurysorcery, and used enchantments, and dealt with themthose thatwho had familiar spirits, and with wizards:. heHe wroughtdid much evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.
21:7 AndHe he set the gravenengraved image of Asherah, that he had made, in the house of which JehovahYahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will I put my name for everforever;
21:8 neitherI will Inot cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
21:9 But they hearkeneddidnt not:listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than did the nations did whom JehovahYahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.
21:10 AndYahweh Jehovahspoke spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
21:11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hathhas done these abominations, and hathhas done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, thatwho were before him, and hathhas also made Judah also to sin with his idols;
21:12 therefore thusYahweh saith Jehovah, the God of Israel says, Behold, I will bring such evil uponon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoeverwhoever hearethhears of it, both his ears shallwill tingle.
21:13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummetplumb line of theAhabs house of Ahab; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipethwipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
21:14 And I will cast off the remnant of minemy inheritance, and deliver them into the handhands of their enemies;. andThey theywill shall become a prey and a spoilplunder to all their enemies;,
21:15 because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even untoto this day.
21:16 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, tilluntil he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besidesin addition to his sin wherewithwith which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah.
21:17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

22:17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense untoto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shallwill not be quenched.
22:18 But untoto the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of JehovahYahweh, thustell shall ye say to him, ThusYahweh saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Assays, touchingConcerning the words which thouyou hasthave heard,
