1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, untoto the churchassembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints thatwho are in the whole of Achaia:
1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;,
1:4 who comfortethcomforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort themthose thatwho are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewithwith which we ourselves are comforted ofby God.
1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound untoto us, even so our comfort also aboundethabounds through Christ.
1:6 But whetherif we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation;. orIf whether we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which workethproduces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer:.
1:7 andOur our hope for you is stedfast;steadfast, knowing that, assince yeyou are partakers of the sufferings, so alsoyou are yealso of the comfort.
1:8 For we woulddont notdesire to have you ignorantuninformed, brethrenbrothers, concerning our affliction which befellhappened to us in Asia,: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuchso much that we despaired even of life:.
1:9 yeaYes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raisethraises the dead:,
1:10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and willdoes deliver:, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;,
1:11 yeyou also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift bestowedgiven uponto us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on ouryour behalf.
1:12 For our gloryingboasting is this,: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly totoward you ward.
1:13 For we write no other things untoto you, than what yeyou read or even acknowledge, and I hope yeyou will acknowledge untoto the end:—
1:14 as also yeyou didacknowledged acknowledge us in part, —that we are your gloryingboasting, even as yeyou also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
1:15 AndIn in this confidence, I was mindeddetermined to come first untoto you, that yeyou might have a second benefit;,
1:16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come untoto you, and of you to be setsent forward by you on my journey untoto JudaeaJudea.
1:17 When I therefore wasplanned thus mindedthis, did I show fickleness? orOr the things that I purposeplan, do I purposeplan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the yeaYes, yeayes and the nayNo, nayno?
1:18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you iswas not yeaYes and nayno.
1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even —by me, and Silvanus, and Timothy, —was not yeaYes and nayno, but in him is yeaYes.
1:20 For howhowever many soeverare be the promises of God, in him is the yea:Yes. whereforeTherefore also through him is the Amen, untoto the glory of God through us.
1:21 Now he thatwho establishethestablishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;,
1:22 who also sealed us, and gave us the earnestdown payment of the Spirit in our hearts.
1:23 But I call God for a witness uponto my soul, that to spare you, I forbaredidnt to come untoto Corinth.
1:24 NotWe thatdont wecontrol have Lordship over your faith, but are helpersfellow ofworkers yourwith joy:you for inyour faithjoy. yeFor you stand fastfirm in faith.
2:1 But I determined this for myself, that I would not come again to you withagain in sorrow.
2:2 For if I make you sorrygrieve, who then iswho hewill thatmake maketh me glad but he thatwho is made sorryto grieve by me?
2:3 And I wrote this very thing, lestto you, so that when I came, I shouldwouldnt have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy iswould thebe joyshared by all of you all.
2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote untoto you with many tears;, not that yeyou should be made sorryto grieve, but that yeyou might know the love whichthat I have moreso abundantly untofor you.
2:5 But if any hathhas caused sorrow, he hathhas caused sorrow, not to me, but in part that I not press not too heavily to you all.
2:6 SufficientThis to such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the many is sufficient for such a one;
2:7 so that, contrariwiseon yethe contrary, you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his overmuchexcessive sorrow.
2:8 WhereforeTherefore I beseechbeg you to confirm your love toward him.
2:9 For to this end I also did I writewrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether yeyou are obedient in all things.
2:10 ButNow toI whomalso ye forgive anything, whomever Iyou forgive also:anything. forFor whatif indeed I also have forgiven anything, if I have forgiven anything, that one for your sakes have I forgiven it in the presence of Christ;,
2:11 that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan:, for we are not ignorant of his devicesschemes.
2:12 Now when I came to Troas for the gospelGood News of Christ, and when a door was opened untoto me in the Lord,
2:13 I had no relief for my spirit, because I founddidnt notfind Titus my brother:, but taking my leave of them, I went forthout into Macedonia.
2:14 ButNow thanks be untoto God, who always leadethleads us in triumph in Christ, and makethreveals manifest through us the savorsweet aroma of his knowledge in every place.
2:15 For we are a sweet savoraroma of Christ untoto God, in themthose thatwho are saved, and in themthose thatwho perish;:
2:16 to the one a savorstench from death untoto death;, to the other a savorsweet aroma from life untoto life. AndWho who is sufficient for these things?
2:17 For we are not as theso many, corruptingpeddling the word of God:. butBut as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak we in Christ.
3:1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? orOr needdo we need, as do some, epistlesletters of commendation to you or from you?
3:2 YeYou are our epistleletter, written in our hearts, known and read ofby all men;,
3:3 being maderevealed manifest that yeyou are ana epistleletter of Christ, ministeredserved by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablestablets of stone, but in tablestablets that are hearts of flesh.
3:4 AndSuch such confidence we have we through Christ totoward God ward:,
3:5 not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God;,
3:6 who also made us sufficient as ministersservants of a new covenant;, not of the letter, but of the spirit:Spirit. forFor the letter killethkills, but the spiritSpirit givethgives life.
3:7 But if the ministrationservice of death, written, andengraved engraven on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look stedfastlysteadfastly uponon the face of Moses for the glory of his face;, which glory was passing away:,
3:8 howwont shallservice not rather the ministration of the spiritSpirit be with much more glory?
3:9 For if the ministrationservice of condemnation hathhas glory, much rather doth the ministrationservice of righteousness exceedexceeds much more in glory.
3:10 For verilymost certainly that which hathhas been made glorious hathhas not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpassethsurpasses.
3:11 For if that which passethpasses away was with glory, much more that which remainethremains is in glory.
3:13 and are not as Moses, who put a veil uponon his face, so that the children of Israel shouldwouldnt not look stedfastlysteadfastly on the end of that which was passing away:.
3:14 butBut their minds were hardened:, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remainethremains, itbecause notin beingChrist revealed to them that it ispasses done away in Christ.
3:15 But untoto this day, whensoeverwhen Moses is read, a veil liethlies uponon their heart.
3:16 But whensoeverwhenever itsomeone shallturns turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit:; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholdingseeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.
4:1 Therefore, seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we dont faint not:.
4:2 butBut we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every mans conscience in the sight of God.
4:3 AndEven even if our gospelGood News is veiled, it is veiled in themthose thatwho perish:are dying,
4:4 in whom the god of this world hathhas blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospelGood News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn uponon them.
4:5 For we dont preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus sake.,
4:6 Seeingseeing it is God, thatwho said, Light shallwill shine out of darkness, who shinedhas shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
4:7 But we have this treasure in earthenclay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;.
4:8 weWe are pressed on every side, yet not straitenedcrushed; perplexed, yet not untoto despair;
4:9 pursued, yet not forsaken; smittenstruck down, yet not destroyed;
4:10 always bearingcarrying about in the body the dyingputting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may also be manifestedrevealed in our body.
4:11 For we who live are always delivered untoto death for Jesus sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifestedrevealed in our mortal flesh.
4:12 So then death workethworks in us, but life in you.
4:13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore did I speak;spoke. weWe also believe, and therefore we also we speak;,
4:14 knowing that he thatwho raised up the Lord Jesus shallwill raise up us also with Jesus, and shallwill present us with you.
4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound untoto the glory of God.
4:16 WhereforeTherefore we dont faint, not; but though our outward manperson is decaying, yet our inward manperson is renewed day by day.
4:17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, workethworks for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;,
4:18 while we dont look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:. forFor the things which are seen are temporal;, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
5:1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacletent beis dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.
5:2 For verilymost certainly in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:,
5:3 if soindeed be that being clothed, we shallwill not be found naked.
5:4 For indeed we thatwho are in this tabernacletent do groan, being burdened;, not for that we woulddesire to be unclothed, but that we woulddesire to be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up ofby life.
5:5 Now he thatwho wroughtmade us for this very thing is God, who also gave untoto us the earnestdown payment of the Spirit.
5:6 BeingTherefore thereforewe are always ofconfident good courage, and knowingknow that, whilstwhile we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord;
5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight;.
5:8 weWe are of good couragecourageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
5:9 WhereforeTherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing untoto him.
5:10 For we must all be maderevealed manifest before the judgment seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he hathhas done, whether it be good or bad.
5:11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are maderevealed manifestto unto God;, and I hope that we are maderevealed manifest also in your consciences.
5:12 WeFor we are not again commending ourselves untoto you again, but speak as giving you occasion of gloryingboasting on our behalf, that yeyou may have wherewithsomething to answer themthose thatwho gloryboast in appearance, and not in heart.
5:13 For whetherif we are beside ourselves, it is untofor God;. orOr whetherif we are of sober mind, it is untofor you.
5:14 For the love of Christ constrainethcompels us; because we judge thus: judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;.
5:15 andHe he died for all, that theythose thatwho live should no longer live untoto themselves, but untoto him who for their sakes died and rose again.
5:16 WhereforeTherefore we henceforth know no manone afteraccording to the flesh: evenfrom now on. Even though we have known Christ afteraccording to the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
5:17 WhereforeTherefore if anyanyone man is in Christ, he is a new creature:creation. theThe old things arehave passed away;. beholdBehold, theyall arethings have become new.
5:18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave untoto us the ministry of reconciliation;
5:19 to witnamely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world untoto himself, not reckoning untoto them their trespasses, and having committed untoto us the word of reconciliation.
5:20 We are therefore ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseechbeg you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.
5:21 HimFor him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf;, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God in him.
6:1 AndWorking working together, with him we entreat also that yeyou receivedo not receive the grace of God in vain.
6:2 forFor he saithsays, At an acceptable time I hearkenedlistened untoto thee, you. AndIn in a day of salvation did I succorhelped thee:you. beholdBehold, now is the acceptable time;. beholdBehold, now is the day of salvation:.
6:3 givingWe give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our ministrationservice bemay not be blamed;,
6:4 but in everything commending ourselves, as ministersservants of God,: in muchgreat patienceendurance, in afflictions, in necessitieshardships, in distresses,
6:5 in stripesbeatings, in imprisonments, in tumultsriots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;,
6:6 in pureness, in knowledge, in longsufferingperseverance, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love unfeigned,
6:7 in the word of truth, in the power of God;, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
6:8 by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report;, as deceivers, and yet true;,
6:9 as unknown, and yet well known;, as dying, and behold, —we live;, as chastened, punished and not killed;,
6:10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing;, as poor, yet making many rich;, as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
6:11 Our mouth is open untoto you, O Corinthians,. ourOur heart is enlarged.
6:12 YeYou are not straitenedrestricted inby us, but yeyou are straitenedrestricted inby your own affections.
6:13 Now for a recompense in like kind return—I speak as untoto my children,—you bealso yeopen alsoyour enlargedhearts.
6:14 BeDont notbe unequally yoked with unbelievers:, for what fellowship havedo righteousness and iniquity have? orOr what communionfellowship hathdoes light have with darkness?
6:15 AndWhat whatagreement concorddoes hath Christ have with Belial? orOr what portion hathdoes a believer have with an unbeliever?
6:16 AndWhat what agreement hathdoes a temple of God have with idols? forFor weyou are a temple of the living God;. evenEven as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them;. and I will be their God, and they shallwill be my people.
6:17 WhereforeTherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saithsays the Lord,. AndTouch touch no unclean thing;. And I will receive you,.
6:18 AndI will be to you a Father,. AndYou yewill shall be to me sons and daughters, saithsays the Lord Almighty.
7:1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, letlets us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
7:2 Open your hearts to us:. weWe wronged no man, one. weWe corrupted no man, one. weWe took advantage of no manone.
7:3 I say itthis not to condemn you:, for I have said before, that yeyou are in our hearts to die together and live together.
7:4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you,. greatGreat is my gloryingboasting on your behalf:. I am filled with comfort,. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.
7:5 For even when we werehad come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side;. withoutFightings were fightings, outside. withinFear werewas fearsinside.
7:6 Nevertheless, he thatwho comfortethcomforts the lowly, even God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;,
7:7 and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort wherewithwith which he was comforted in you, while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me;, so that I rejoiced yetstill more.
7:8 For though I madegrieved you sorry with my epistleletter, I do not regret it:, though I did regret it. forFor I see that thatmy epistleletter made you sorrygrieve, though butjust for a season, while.
7:9 I now rejoice, not that yeyou were made sorrygrieved, but that yeyou were madegrieved sorryto unto repentance;. forFor yeyou were madegrieved sorryin after a godly sortway, that yeyou might suffer loss by us in nothing.
7:10 For godly sorrow workethproduces repentance untoleading to salvation, a repentance which bringethbrings no regret:. butBut the sorrow of the world workethproduces death.
7:11 For behold, this selfsamesame thing, that yeyou were madegrieved sorryin after a godly sortway, what earnest care it wroughtworked in you. Yes, yea what clearing of yourselvesdefense, yea what indignation, yea what fear, yea what longing, yea what zeal, yeaand what avengingvindication! In everything yeyou approveddemonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter.
7:12 So although I wrote untoto you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be maderevealed manifestin unto you in the sight of God.
7:13 Therefore we have been comforted:. andIn in our comfort we joyedrejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit hathhas been refreshed by you all.
7:14 For if in anything I have gloriedboasted to him on your behalf, I was not putdisappointed. toBut shame; but as we spakespoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.
7:15 AndHis his affection is more abundantly toward you, while he rememberethremembers theall obedience of youyour allobedience, how with fear and trembling yeyou received him.
7:16 I rejoice that in everything I am ofconfident good courage concerning you.
8:1 Moreover, brethrenbrothers, we make known to you the grace of God which hathhas been given in the churchesassemblies of Macedonia;,
8:2 how that in mucha proofsevere ordeal of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded untoto the riches of their liberalitygenerosity.
8:3 For according to their power, I bear witnesstestify, yeayes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,
8:4 beseechingbegging us with much entreaty into regardreceive of this grace and the fellowship in the ministeringservice to the saints:.
8:5 andThis this, was not as we had hopedexpected, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.
8:6 InsomuchSo that we exhortedurged Titus, that as he had made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace also.
8:7 But as yeyou abound in everything, —in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love to us, —see that yeyou also abound in this grace also.
8:9 For yeyou know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that yeyou through his poverty might become rich.
8:10 And herein I give myadvice judgmentin this: forit this is expedient for you, who were the first to makestart a beginning a year ago, not only to do, but also to willbe willing.
8:11 But now complete the doing also;, that as there was the readiness to willbe willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.
8:12 For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according asto awhat manyou hathhave, not according asto hewhat hathyou notdont have.
8:13 For Ithis sayis not this that others may be eased and yeyou distressed;,
8:14 but byfor equality:. yourYour abundance being a supply at this present time forsupplies their wantlack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your want;lack, that there may be equality:.
8:15 asAs it is written, He thatwho gathered much had nothing left over;, and he thatwho gathered little had no lack.
8:16 But thanks be to God, who puttethputs the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.
8:17 For he indeed accepted indeed our exhortation;, but being himself very earnest, he went forthout untoto you of his own accord.
8:18 AndWe we have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the gospelGood News is spreadknown throughthroughout all the churches;assemblies.
8:19 andNot not only so, but whohe was also appointed by the churchesassemblies to travel with us in the matter of this grace, which is ministeredserved by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness:.
8:20 We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us inconcerning the matter of this bountyabundance which is ministeredadministered by us:.
8:21 forHaving weregard takefor thoughthonorable for things honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
8:22 AndWe we have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he hathhas in you.
8:23 WhetherAs anyfor inquire about Titus, he is my partner and my fellow worker tofor you. ward;As orfor our brethrenbrothers, they are the messengersapostles of the churchesassemblies, they are the glory of Christ.
8:24 ShowTherefore yeshow therefore unto them in the faceproof of theyour churcheslove theto proofthem ofbefore yourthe loveassemblies, and of our gloryingboasting on your behalf.
9:1 ForIt asis touchingindeed theunnecessary ministeringfor me to thewrite saints,to ityou isconcerning superfluousthe forservice me to writethe to you:saints,
9:2 for I know your readiness, of which I gloryboast on your behalf to themthose of Macedonia, that Achaia hathhas been prepared for athe year past; andyear. yourYour zeal hathhas stirred up very many of them.
9:3 But I have sent the brethren, brothers so that our gloryingboasting on your behalf may not be madein voidvain in this respect;, that, evenjust as I said, yeyou may be prepared:,
9:4 lest by any means, if thereanyone comefrom withMacedonia mecomes anythere ofwith Macedoniame and findfinds you unprepared, we thatto we say not, nothing yeof shouldyou would be putdisappointed to shame in this confidenceconfident boasting.
9:5 I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brethren, brothers that they would go before untoto you, and makearrange upahead beforehandof yourtime aforepromisedthe bountygenerous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of bountygenerosity, and not of extortiongreediness.
9:6 ButRemember this: Ihe say,who Hesows thatsparingly sowethwill sparinglyalso shall reap also sparingly;. andHe hewho thatsows soweth bountifully shallwill also reap also bountifully.
9:7 Let each man dogive according as he hathhas purposeddetermined in his heart:, not grudgingly, or ofunder necessity:compulsion, for God lovethloves a cheerful giver.
9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound untoto you;, that yeyou, always having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound untoto every good work:.
9:9 asAs it is written, He hathhas scattered abroad,. heHe hathhas given to the poor;. His righteousness abidethremains for everforever.
9:10 AndNow may he thatwho suppliethsupplies seed to the sower and bread for food, shall supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness:,
9:11 yeyou being enriched in everything untofor all liberalitygenerosity, which workethproduces through us thanksgiving to God through us.
9:12 For thethis ministrationservice of thisgiving servicethat you perform not only fillethmakes up thefor measurelack ofamong the wants of the saints, but aboundethabounds also through manymuch thanksgivingsgiving untoof thanks to God;,
9:13 seeing that through the provingproof ofgiven you by this ministrationservice, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession untoto the gospelGood News of Christ, and for the liberalitygenerosity of your contribution untoto them and untoto all;,
9:14 while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, longyearn afterfor you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.
9:15 ThanksNow thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.!
10:1 Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the meeknesshumility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am ofbold good courage toward you:.
10:2 yeaYes, I beseechbeg you, that I may not, when present, show courage with the confidence wherewithwith which I countintend to be bold against some, who countconsider of us asto ifbe wewalking walked according to the flesh.
10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we dodont notwage war according to the flesh;
10:4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the castingthrowing down of strongholds;,
10:5 castingthrowing down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;,
10:6 and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shallis be made full.
10:7 YeDo you look at the things thatonly areas beforethey appear in front of your face.? If anyanyone mantrusts trusteth in himself that he is Christs, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christs, so we also are weChrists.
10:8 For thougheven if I shouldboast glory somewhat abundantly concerning our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down, I shallwill not be put to shame:ashamed,
10:9 that I may not seem as if I woulddesire to terrify you by my letters.
10:10 For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong;, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech ofis no accountdespised.
10:11 Let such a oneperson reckonconsider this, that, what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such are we also in deed when we are present.
10:12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with certainsome of themthose thatwho commend themselves:. butBut they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.
10:13 But we will not gloryboast beyond ourproper measurelimits, but accordingwithin to the measureboundaries ofwith the province which God apportionedappointed to us as a measure, towhich reach even untoto you.
10:14 For we dont stretch not ourselves overmuchtoo much, as though we reacheddidnt notreach untoto you:. forFor we came even as far as untoto you inwith the gospelGood News of Christ:,
10:15 not gloryingboasting beyond ourproper measure, limits that is, in other mens labors;, but having hope that, as your faith growethgrows, we shallwill be magnifiedabundantly inenlarged by you accordingin to our provincesphere untoof further abundanceinfluence,
10:16 so as to preach the gospelGood News even untoto the parts beyond you, and not to gloryboast in anotherswhat provincesomeone inelse regardhas ofalready things ready to our handdone.
10:17 But he thatwho gloriethboasts, let him gloryboast in the Lord.
10:18 For notit isnt he thatwho commendethcommends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commendethcommends.
11:1 WouldI wish that yeyou couldwould bear with me in a little foolishness:, but indeed yeyou do bear with me.
11:2 For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy:. forFor I espousedpromised you in marriage to one husband, that I might present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
11:3 But I fear,am lestafraid bythat any meanssomehow, as the serpent beguileddeceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds shouldmight be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is towardin Christ.
11:4 For if he thatwho comethcomes preachethpreaches another Jesus, whom we diddidnt not preach, or if yeyou receive a different spirit, which yeyou diddidnt not receive, or a different gospel, good news which yeyou diddidnt not accept, yeyou doput wellup towith bearthat withwell himenough.
11:5 For I reckon that I am not aat whitall behind the very chiefestbest apostles.
11:6 But though I beam rudeunskilled in speech, yet I am I not unskilled in knowledge;. nayNo, in every way have we madehave thisbeen manifestrevealed untoto you in all things.
11:7 Or did I commit a sin in abasinghumbling myself that yeyou might be exalted, because I preached to you theGods gospelGood ofNews Godfree forof noughtcharge?
11:8 I robbed other churchesassemblies, taking wages offrom them that I might ministerserve unto you;.
11:9 andWhen when I was present with you and was in wantneed, I waswasnt not a burden on anyanyone, man; for the brethrenbrothers, when they came from Macedonia, supplied the measure of my want;need. andIn in everything I kept myself from being burdensome untoto you, and soI will Icontinue keepto myselfdo so.
11:10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no manone shallwill stop me offrom this gloryingboasting in the regions of Achaia.
11:11 WhereforeWhy? becauseBecause I dont love you not? God knowethknows.
11:12 But what I do, that I will continue to do, that I may cut off occasionopportunity from themthose thatwho desire an occasion;opportunity, that whereinin which they gloryboast, they may be foundrecognized evenjust aslike weus.
11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, fashioningmasquerading themselvesas intoChrists apostles of Christ.
11:14 And no marvel;wonder, for even Satan fashionethmasquerades himselfas into an angel of light.
11:15 It is no great thing therefore if his ministersservants also fashionmasquerade themselves as ministersservants of righteousness;, whose end shallwill be according to their works.
11:16 I say again, Letlet no manone think me foolish;. butBut if ye doso, yet receive me as foolish receive me, that I also may gloryboast a little.
11:17 That which I speak, I dont speak notaccording afterto the Lord, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of gloryingboasting.
11:18 Seeing that many gloryboast after the flesh, I will gloryalso alsoboast.
11:19 For yeyou bear with the foolish gladly, being wise yourselves.
11:20 For yeyou bear with a man, if he bringethbrings you into bondage, if he devourethdevours you, if he takethtakes you captive, if he exaltethexalts himself, or if he smitethstrikes you on the face.
11:21 ITo speakmy byshame, wayI ofspeak disparagement, as though we had been weak. Yet whereinsoeverin anywhatever way anyone is bold I speak in foolishness, I am bold also.
11:22 Are they Hebrews? soSo am I. Are they Israelites? soSo am I. Are they the seedoffspring of Abraham? soSo am I.
11:23 Are they ministersservants of Christ? I speak as one beside himself. I am more; so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths oftoften.
11:24 OfFive thetimes JewsI five times received I forty stripes saveminus one from the Jews.
11:25 ThriceThree wastimes I was beaten with rods,. onceOnce I was I stoned,. thriceThree times I suffered shipwreck,. I have been a night and a day have I been in the deep;.
11:26 I have been in journeyingstravels often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethrenbrothers;
11:27 in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.
11:28 Besides those things that are withoutoutside, there is that which pressethpresses uponon me daily,: anxiety for all the churchesassemblies.
11:29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? whoWho is caused to stumble, and I dont burn notwith indignation?
11:30 If I must needs gloryboast, I will gloryboast of the things that concern my weakness.
11:31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, he who is blessed forforever evermoremore, knowethknows that I dont lie not.
11:32 In Damascus the governor under King Aretas the king guarded the city of the Damascenes incity, orderdesiring to takearrest me:.
11:33 andI through a window was I let down in a basket through a window by the wall, and escaped his hands.
12:1 IIt mustis needsdoubtless glory, not thoughprofitable itfor isme notto expedient;boast, but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
12:2 I know a man in Christ, who was caught up into the third heaven fourteen years ago —whether in the body, I dont know, not; or whether out of the body, I dont know not; God knoweth, such a one caught up even to the third heavenknows.
12:3 And I know such a man whether in the body, or apartoutside fromof the body, I dont know not; God knowethknows,
12:4 how that he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
12:5 On behalf of such a one I will Iboast, glory: but on minemy own behalf I will not gloryboast, saveexcept in my weaknesses.
12:6 For if I shouldwould desire to gloryboast, I shallwill not be foolish; for I shallwill speak the truth:. butBut I forbearrefrain, lestso anythat no man shouldmay accountthink more of me abovethan that which he seethsees in me to be, or hearethhears from me.
12:7 AndBy by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuchexcessively, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, was given to me: a messenger of Satan to buffettorment me, that I should not be exalted overmuchexcessively.
12:8 Concerning this thing, I besoughtbegged the Lord thrice, three times that it might depart from me.
12:9 AndHe hehas hath said untoto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest uponon me.
12:10 WhereforeTherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christs sake:. forFor when I am weak, then am I strong.
12:11 I amhave become foolish: yein boasting. You compelled me;, for I ought to have been commended ofby you:, for I am in nothingno wasway Iinferior behindto the very chiefestbest apostles, though I am nothing.
12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wroughtworked among you in all patienceperseverance, byin signs and wonders and mighty works.
12:13 For what is there whereinin yewhich you were made inferior to the rest of the churchesassemblies, exceptunless it beis that I myself was not a burden to you? forgiveForgive me this wrong.!
12:14 Behold, this is the third time I am ready to come to you;, and I will not be a burden to you:; for I seek not yoursyour possessions, but you:. forFor the children ought not to laysave up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
12:15 And I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?
12:16 ButEven be it so, I didmyself notdidnt myself burden you;. but,But you might say that being crafty, I caught you with guiledeception.
12:17 Did I take advantage of you by anyanyone one of themthose whom I have sent untoto you?
12:18 I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? walkedDidnt we notwalk in the same spirit? walkedDidnt we notwalk in the same steps?
12:19 YeAgain, thinkdo allyou thisthink time that we are excusing ourselves untoto you.? In the sight of God we speak we in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edifying.
12:20 For I fear,am lestafraid bythat anyperhaps means, when I come, I shouldmight find you not suchthe asway I wouldwant to, and shouldthat myselfI might be found ofby you such as yeyou woulddont not;desire, lestthat byperhaps any means there shouldwould be strife, jealousy, wrathsoutbursts of anger, factions, backbitingsslander, whisperings, swellingsproud thoughts, tumults;or riots,
12:21 lestthat again when I come my God shouldwould humble me before you, and I shouldwould mourn for many of themthose thatwho have sinned heretoforebefore now, and not repented not of the uncleanness, andsexual fornicationimmorality, and lasciviousnesslustfulness which they committed.
13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses or three witnesses shall every word be established.
13:2 I have saidwarned beforehandpreviously, and I dowarn say beforehandagain, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to themthose thatwho have sinned heretofore, before now and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;,
13:3 seeing that yeyou seek a proof of Christ thatwho speakethspeaks in me; who to you ward is not weak, but is powerful in you:.
13:4 forFor he was crucified through weakness, yet he livethlives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shallwill live with him through the power of God toward you.
13:5 TryExamine your own selves, whether yeyou are in the faith;. proveTest your own selves. Or knowdont yeyou notknow asabout to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? ?—unless indeed yeyou beare reprobatedisqualified.
13:6 But I hope that yeyou shallwill know that we arearent not reprobatedisqualified.
13:7 Now weI pray to God that yeyou do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that yeyou may do that which is honorable, though we bemay asseem reprobateto have failed.
13:9 For we rejoice, when we are weak, and yeyou are strong:. thisWe we also pray for, eventhis: your perfectingbecoming perfect.
13:10 For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for castingtearing down.
13:11 Finally, brethrenbrothers, farewell.rejoice! Be perfected;. beBe comforted;. beBe of the same mind;. liveLive in peace:, and the God of love and peace shallwill be with you.
13:12 SaluteGreet one another with a holy kiss.
13:13 All the saints salutegreet you.
13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, andGods the love of God, and the communionfellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.
