Then Nathan spakespoke untoto BathBathsheba sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, HastHavent thouyou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reignreigns, and David our Lord knowethdoesnt know it not? |
| 1:12 |

andHe hehas hath slain oxencattle and fatlings and sheep in abundance, and hathhas called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the hostarmy; but Solomonhe thyhasnt servantcalled hathSolomon heyour not calledservant. |
| 1:20 |
And thouYou, my Lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are uponon theeyou, that thouyou shouldestshould tell them who shallwill sit on the throne of my Lord the king after him. |
| 1:21 |
Otherwise it will come to passhappen, when my Lord the king shallsleeps sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shallwill be countedconsidered offenderscriminals. |
| 1:22 |
AndBehold, lo, while she yetwas talkedstill talking with the king, Nathan the prophet came in. |

| 1:24 |
And Nathan said, My Lord, O kingKing, hasthave thouyou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit uponon my throne? |
| 1:25 |
For he ishas gone down this daytoday, and hathhas slain oxencattle, and fatlings, and sheep in abundance, and hathhas called all the kings sons, and the captains of the hostarmy, and Abiathar the priest;. andBehold, behold, they are eating and drinking before him, and saysaying, Long live kingKing Adonijah.! |
| 1:26 |
But he hasnt called me, even me thyyour servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thyyour servant Solomon, hath he not called. |
| 1:27 |
IsWas this thing done by my Lord the king, and thouyou hasthavent notshown showedto untoyour thy servants who should sit on the throne of my Lord the king after him? |
| 1:28 |
Then kingKing David answered and said, Call Bathsheba in to me Bath sheba. AndShe she came into the kings presence, and stood before the king. |
| 1:29 |
AndThe the king sware, vowed and said, As JehovahYahweh livethlives, who hathhas redeemed my soul out of all adversity, |
| 1:30 |
verilymost certainly as I swareswore untoto theeyou by JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thyyour son shall reign after me, and he shall sit uponon my throne in my steadplace; verilyI so will Imost certainly do this daytoday. |
| 1:31 |
Then BathBathsheba sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and didshowed obeisancerespect to the king, and said, Let my Lord kingKing David live for ever.forever! |
| 1:32 |
AndKing king David said, Call to me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. AndThey they came before the king. |
| 1:33 |
AndThe the king said untoto them, Take with you the servants of your Lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride uponon minemy own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:. |
| 1:34 |
andLet let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel;. andBlow blow ye the trumpet, and say, Long live kingKing Solomon.! |
| 1:35 |
Then ye shall come up after him, and he shall come and sit uponon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead;place. and I have appointed him to be prince over Israel and over Judah. |
| 1:36 |
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen:. JehovahMay Yahweh, the God of my Lord the king, say so too. |
| 1:37 |
As JehovahYahweh hathhas been with my Lord the king, even so bemay he be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my Lord kingKing David. |
| 1:38 |
So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, went down, and causedhad Solomon to ride uponon kingKing Davids mule, and brought him to Gihon. |
| 1:39 |
And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil outfrom of the Tent, and anointed Solomon. AndThey they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, Long live kingKing Solomon.! |
| 1:40 |
AndAll all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rentshook with thetheir sound of them. |
| 1:41 |
And Adonijah and all the guests thatwho were with him heard it as they had madefinished an end of eating. AndWhen when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, WhereforeWhy is this noise of the city being in an uproar? |
| 1:42 |
While he yet spakespoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came:; and Adonijah said, Come in; for thouyou artare a worthy man, and bringestbring good tidingsnews. |
| 1:43 |
And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, VerilyMost certainly our Lord kingKing David hathhas made Solomon king:. |
| 1:44 |
andThe the king hathhas sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and they have caused him to ride uponon the kings mule;. |
| 1:45 |
and Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon;. andThey theyhave are come up from thencethere rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that yeyou have heard. |
| 1:46 |
AndAlso, also Solomon sittethsits on the throne of the kingdom. |
| 1:47 |
AndMoreover moreover the kings servants came to bless our Lord kingKing David, saying, ThyMay your God make the name of Solomon better than thyyour name, and make his throne greater than thyyour throne:; and the king bowed himself uponon the bed. |
| 1:48 |
AndAlso also thus said the king, Blessed be JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, who hathhas given one to sit on my throne this daytoday, minemy eyes even seeing it. |
| 1:49 |
AndAll all the guests of Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and wenteach every man went his way. |
| 1:50 |
And Adonijah fearedwas afraid because of Solomon; and he arose, and went, and caughthung holdonto on the horns of the altar. |
| 1:51 |
AndSolomon it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fearethfears kingKing Solomon; for, lobehold, he hathis laidhanging holdonto on the horns of the altar, saying, Let kingKing Solomon swear untoto me first that he will not slaykill his servant with the sword. |
| 1:52 |
And Solomon said, If he shallshows show himself a worthy man, there shall not a hair of himhis shall fall to the earth; but if wickedness beis found in him, he shall die. |
| 1:53 |
So kingKing Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. AndHe he came and didbowed obeisancedown to kingKing Solomon; and Solomon said untoto him, Go to thyyour house. |
| 2:1 |
Now the days of David drewcame nighnear that he should die; and he chargedcommanded Solomon his son, saying, |
| 2:2 |
I am going the way of all the earth:. You be thou strong therefore, and show thyselfyourself a man; |
| 2:3 |
and keep the chargeinstruction of JehovahYahweh thyyour God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that thouyou mayestmay prosper in all that thouyou doest,do and whithersoeverwherever thouyou turnestturn thyself;yourself. |
| 2:4 |
thatThen JehovahYahweh may establish his word which he spakespoke concerning me, saying, If thyyour children takeare heedcareful toof their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail theeyou, he said, he a man on the throne of Israel. |
| 2:5 |
Moreover thouyou knowestknow also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did untoto me, even what he did to the two captains of the hostsarmies of Israel, untoto Abner the son of Ner, and untoto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slewkilled, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war uponon his girdlesash that was aboutaround his loins, waist and in his shoessandals that were on his feet. |
| 2:6 |
Do therefore according to thyyour wisdom, and dont let not his hoargray head go down to Sheol in peace. |
| 2:7 |
But show kindness untoto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be ofamong those thatwho eat at thyyour table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom thyyour brother. |
| 2:8 |
AndBehold, behold, there is with theeyou Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swareswore to him by JehovahYahweh, saying, I will not put theeyou to death with the sword. |
| 2:9 |
Now therefore dont hold him not guiltless, for thouyou artare a wise man; and thouyou wiltwill know what thouyou oughtestought to do untoto him, and thouyou shaltshall bring his hoargray head down to Sheol with blood. |
| 2:10 |
And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in theDavids city of David. |
| 2:11 |
AndThe the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years:; he reigned seven years reigned he in Hebron, and he reigned thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem. |
| 2:12 |
And Solomon sat uponon the throne of David his fatherfathers throne; and his kingdom was firmly established greatly. |
| 2:13 |
Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to BathBathsheba sheba the mother of Solomon. AndShe she said, ComestDo thouyou come peaceably? AndHe he said, Peaceably. |
| 2:14 |
He said moreover, I have somewhatsomething to saytell unto theeyou. AndShe she said, Say on. |
| 2:15 |
AndHe he said, ThouYou knowestknow that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign:. howbeitHowever, the kingdom is turned aboutaround, and ishas become my brothers; for it was his from JehovahYahweh. |
| 2:16 |
AndNow now I ask one petition of thee;you. Dont deny me not. AndShe she said untoto him, Say on. |
| 2:17 |
AndHe he said, Speak,Please Ispeak prayto thee, unto Solomon the king for he will not saytell theeyou nayno, that he give me Abishag the Shunammite toas wife. |
| 2:18 |
AndBathsheba Bath sheba said, Well; All right. I will speak for theeyou untoto the king. |
| 2:19 |
BathBathsheba sheba therefore went untoto kingKing Solomon, to speak untoto him for Adonijah. AndThe the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself untoto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a throne to be set for the kings mother; and she sat on his right hand. |
| 2:20 |
Then she said, I ask one small petition of theeyou; dont deny me not. AndThe the king said untoto her, Ask on, my mother;, for I will not deny theeyou. |
| 2:21 |
AndShe she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thyyour brother toas wife. |
| 2:22 |
AndKing king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, AndWhy whydo dostyou thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? askAsk for him the kingdom also;, for he is minemy elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. |
| 2:23 |
Then kingKing Solomon swareswore by JehovahYahweh, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah hathhas not spoken this word against his own life. |
| 2:24 |
Now therefore as JehovahYahweh livethlives, who hathhas established me, and set me on themy thronefather ofDavids David my fatherthrone, and who hathhas made me a house, as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death this daytoday. |
| 2:25 |
AndKing king Solomon sent by Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell uponon him, so that he died. |
| 2:26 |
AndTo unto Abiathar the priest said the king said, GetGo thee to Anathoth, untoto thineyour own fields;, for thouyou artare worthy of death:. butBut I will not at this time put theeyou to death, because thouyou barestbore the arkLord ofYahwehs theark Lord Jehovah before David my father, and because thouyou wastwere afflicted in all whereinin which my father was afflicted. |
| 2:27 |
So Solomon thrust Abiathar out Abiathar from being priest untoto JehovahYahweh, that he might fulfilfulfill theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh. |
| 2:28 |
AndThis thenews tidings came to Joab; for Joab had turnedfollowed after Adonijah, thoughalthough he turneddidnt notfollow after Absalom. And Joab fled untoto theYahwehs Tent of Jehovah, and caughtheld holdonto on the horns of the altar. |
| 2:29 |
AndKing itSolomon was told king Solomon, Joab ishas fled untoto theYahwehs Tent; of Jehovah, and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall uponon him. |
| 2:30 |
And Benaiah came to theYahwehs Tent of Jehovah, and said untoto him, ThusThe saithking the kingsays, Come forth.out! AndHe he said, NayNo; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, ThusThis saidis what Joab said, and thusthis is how he answered me. |
| 2:31 |
AndThe the king said untoto him, Do as he hathhas said, and fall uponon him, and bury him;, that thouyou mayestmay take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my fathers house. |
| 2:32 |
AndYahweh Jehovah will return his blood uponon his own head, because he fell uponon two men more righteous and better than he, and slewkilled them with the sword, and my father David knewdidnt know it: not, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the hostarmy of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the hostarmy of Judah. |
| 2:33 |
So shall their blood will return uponon the head of Joab, and uponon the head of his seedoffspring forforever. ever:But butfor unto David, andfor unto his seedoffspring, andfor unto his house, and untofor his throne, shall there will be peace forforever ever from JehovahYahweh. |
| 2:34 |
Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell uponon him, and slewkilled him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness. |
| 2:35 |
AndThe the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his roomplace over the hostarmy; and Zadok the priestking didput Zadok the kingpriest put in the roomplace of Abiathar. |
| 2:36 |
AndThe the king sent and called for Shimei, and said untoto him, Build theeyourself a house in Jerusalem, and dwelllive there, and dont go notanywhere forth thence any whitherelse. |
| 2:37 |
For on the day thouyou goestgo out, and passestpass over the brook Kidron, know thou for certain that thouyou shaltwill surely die:. thyYour blood shallwill be uponon thineyour own head. |
| 2:38 |
And Shimei said untoto the king, TheWhat sayingyou say is good:. asAs my Lord the king hathhas said, so will thyyour servant do. And Shimei dweltlived in Jerusalem many days. |
| 2:39 |
AndAt it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of theShimeis servantsslaves of Shimei ran away untoto Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. AndThey they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thyyour servantsslaves are in Gath. |
| 2:40 |
And Shimei arose, and saddled his assdonkey, and went to Gath to Achish, to seek his servantsslaves; and Shimei went, and brought his servantsslaves from Gath. |
| 2:41 |
AndSolomon it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and washad come again. |
| 2:42 |
AndThe the king sent and called for Shimei, and said untoto him, DidDidnt I not adjure theeyou by Jehovah,Yahweh and protestwarn unto theeyou, saying, Know for certain, that on the day thouyou goestgo out, and walkestwalk abroadanywhere any whitherelse, thouyou shaltshall surely die? andYou thousaid saidstto unto me, The saying that I have heard is good. |
| 2:43 |
Why then hasthave thouyou not kept the oath of Jehovah,Yahweh and the commandment that I have chargedinstructed theeyou with? |
| 2:44 |
The king said moreover to Shimei, ThouYou knowestknow allin theyour wickedness which thy heart isall privythe to,wickedness that thouyou didstdid to David my father:. thereforeTherefore JehovahYahweh shallwill return thyyour wickedness uponon thineyour own head. |
| 2:45 |
But kingKing Solomon shallwill be blessed, and theDavids throne ofwill David shall be established before JehovahYahweh for everforever. |
| 2:46 |
So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out, and fell uponon him, so that he died. AndThe the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon. |
| 3:1 |
And Solomon made affinitya marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt,. andHe took Pharaohs daughter, and brought her into theDavids city of David, until he had madefinished an end of building his own house, andYahwehs the house of Jehovah, and the wall ofaround Jerusalem round about. |
| 3:2 |
OnlyHowever, the people sacrificed in the high places, because there was nonot yet a house built for theYahwehs name of Jehovah until those days. |
| 3:3 |
And Solomon loved JehovahYahweh, walking in the statutes of David his father:, onlyexcept that he sacrificed and burntburned incense in the high places. |
| 3:4 |
AndThe the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there;, for that was the great high place:. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings didon Solomon offer upon that altar. |
| 3:5 |
In Gibeon, JehovahYahweh appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, Ask for what I shallshould give theeyou. |
| 3:6 |
And Solomon said, ThouYou hasthave showedshown untoto thyyour servant David my father great lovingkindnessloving kindness, accordingbecause as he walked before theeyou in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee;you. andYou thouhave hast kept for him this great lovingkindnessloving kindness, that thouyou hasthave given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this daytoday. |
| 3:7 |
And nowNow, OYahweh Jehovah my God, thouyou hasthave made thyyour servant king instead of David my father:. and I am butjust a little child;. I dont know not how to go out or come in. |
| 3:8 |
AndYour thy servant is inamong theyour midst of thy people which thouyou hasthave chosen, a great people, that cannotcant be numbered noror counted for multitude. |
| 3:9 |
Give thyyour servant therefore an understanding heart to judge thyyour people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this thy great people of yours? |
| 3:10 |
AndThis therequest speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. |
| 3:11 |
And God said untoto him, Because thouyou hasthave asked this thing, and hasthave not asked for thyselfyourself long life, neithernor hasthave you asked for riches for thyselfyourself, nor hasthave you asked for the life of thineyour enemies, but hasthave asked for thyselfyourself understanding to discern justice;, |
| 3:12 |
behold, I have done according to thyyour word:. loBehold, I have given theeyou a wise and an understanding heart;, so that there hathhas been noneno one like theeyou before theeyou, neitherand after theeyou shallnone anywill arise like unto theeyou. |
| 3:13 |
And I have also given theeyou that which thouyou hasthave not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shallwill not be any among the kings like untoyou thee, for all thyyour days. |
| 3:14 |
AndIf ifyou thouwill wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thyyour father David did walkwalked, then I will lengthen thyyour days. |
| 3:15 |
And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream:. andThen he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of theYahwehs covenant of Jehovah, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast tofor all his servants. |

| 3:20 |
AndShe she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thyyour handmaidservant slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. |
| 3:21 |
AndWhen when I rose in the morning to givenurse my child suck, behold, ithe was dead; but when I had looked at ithim in the morning, behold, it was not my son, whom I did bearbore. |
| 3:22 |
AndThe the other woman said, Nay;No! butBut the living one is my son, and the dead one is thyyour son. AndThe thisfirst one said, No;! butBut the dead one is thyyour son, and the living one is my son. ThusThey theyargued spakelike this before the king. |
| 3:23 |
Then said the king said, TheOne one saithsays, This is my son thatwho livethlives, and thyyour son is the dead: one; and the other saithsays, Nay;No! butBut thyyour son is the dead one, and my son is the living one. |

| 6:5 |
AndAgainst against the wall of the house, he built storiesfloors roundall aboutaround, against the walls of the house roundall aboutaround, both of the temple and of the oracleinner sanctuary; and he made side chambersrooms roundall aboutaround. |
| 6:6 |
The nethermostlowest storyfloor was five cubits broadwide, and the middle was six cubits broadwide, and the third was seven cubits broadwide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house roundall aboutaround, that the beams should not havebe holdinserted ininto the walls of the house. |

| 7:14 |
He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brassbronze; and he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill, to work all works in brassbronze. AndHe he came to kingKing Solomon, and wroughtperformed all his work. |
| 7:15 |
For he fashioned the two pillars of brassbronze, eighteen cubits high apiece:; and a line of twelve cubits compassedencircled either of them about. |

| 7:25 |
It stood uponon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set uponon them above, and all their hinderhindquarters parts were inward. |
| 7:26 |
AndIt it was a handbreadthhand width thick:. andIts the brim thereof was wroughtworked like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily:. itIt held two thousand baths. |
| 7:27 |
AndHe he made the ten bases of brass;bronze. fourThe cubits was the length of one base, andwas four cubits, thefour breadthcubits thereofits width, and three cubits theits height of it. |
| 7:28 |
AndThe the work of the bases was onlike this manner: they had panels; and there were panels between the ledges; |
| 7:29 |
and on the panels that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and uponon the ledges there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work. |
| 7:30 |
AndEvery every base had four brazenbronze wheels, and axles of brassbronze; and theits four feet thereof had undersetters:supports. beneathThe thesupports laver were cast beneath the undersetters moltenbasin, with wreaths at the side of each. |
| 7:31 |
AndIts theopening mouth of it within the capital and above was a cubit:. andIts theopening mouth thereof was round afterlike the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also uponon theits mouthopening of it were gravingsengravings, and their panels were foursquaresquare, not round. |
| 7:32 |
AndThe the four wheels were underneath the panels; and the axletreesaxles of the wheels were in the base:. andThe the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit. |
| 7:33 |
AndThe the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel:. theirTheir axletreesaxles, and their felloesrims, and their spokes, and their naves, hubs were all moltenof cast metal. |
| 7:34 |
AndThere there were four undersetterssupports at the four corners of each base:. theIts undersetterssupports thereof were of the base itself. |

| 7:36 |
AndOn on the plates of theits stayssupports thereof, and on theits panels thereof, he gravedengraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, accordingeach toin theits space of each, with wreaths roundall aboutaround. |
| 7:37 |
AfterHe this manner he made the ten bases in this way: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one form. |

| 7:40 |
And Hiram made the laverspots, and the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram madefinished an end of doing all the work that he wroughtworked for kingKing Solomon in theYahwehs house of Jehovah: |
| 7:41 |
the two pillars,; and the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; |
| 7:42 |
and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were uponon the pillars; |
| 7:43 |
and the ten bases,; and the ten laversbasins on the bases; |
| 7:44 |
and the one sea,; and the twelve oxen under the sea; |
| 7:45 |
and the pots,; and the shovels,; and the basins:. evenAll allof these vessels, which Hiram made for kingKing Solomon, in theYahwehs house of Jehovah, were of burnished brassbronze. |
| 7:46 |
InThe king cast them in the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan. |
| 7:47 |
And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because theythere were exceedingso many: theof them. The weight of the brassbronze could not be found outdetermined. |
| 7:48 |
And Solomon made all the vessels that were in theYahwehs house of Jehovah: the golden altar, and the table whereuponthat the showbreadshow bread was on, of gold; |
| 7:49 |
and the candlestickslamp stands, five on the right side, and five on the left, beforein front of the oracleinner sanctuary, of pure gold; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; |
| 7:50 |
and the cups, and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and the firepansfire pans, of pure gold; and the hinges, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple, of gold. |
| 7:51 |
Thus all the work that kingKing Solomon wroughtdid in theYahwehs house of Jehovah was finished. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated, even —the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, —and put them in the treasuries of theYahwehs house of Jehovah. |
| 8:1 |
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, andwith all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers houseshouseholds of the children of Israel, untoto kingKing Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of theYahwehs covenant of Jehovah out of theDavids city of David, which is Zion. |
| 8:2 |
AndAll all the men of Israel assembled themselves untoto kingKing Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month. |
| 8:3 |
AndAll all the elders of Israel came, and the priests tookpicked up the ark. |
| 8:4 |
AndThey they brought up theYahwehs ark of Jehovah, and the tentTent of meetingMeeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent;. evenThe these did the priests and the Levites bringbrought these up. |
| 8:5 |
AndKing king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, thatwho were assembled untoto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, cattle that could not be counted noror numbered for multitude. |
| 8:6 |
AndThe the priests brought in the ark of theYahwehs covenant ofto Jehovah unto its place, into the oracleinner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the cherubims wings of the cherubim. |
| 8:7 |
For the cherubim spread forth their wings out over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and theits stavespoles thereof above. |
| 8:8 |
AndThe thepoles staves were so long that the ends of the stavespoles were seen from the holy place before the oracle;inner sanctuary, but they were not seen without:outside. andThey are there theyto are unto this day. |
| 8:9 |
There was nothing in the ark saveexcept the two tablesstone oftablets stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when JehovahYahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. |
| 8:10 |
AndIt it came to pass, when the priests werehad come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled theYahwehs house of Jehovah, |
| 8:11 |
so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for theYahwehs glory of Jehovah filled theYahwehs house of Jehovah. |
| 8:12 |
Then spakeSolomon Solomonsaid, JehovahYahweh hathhas said that he would dwell in the thick darkness. |
| 8:13 |
I have surely built theeyou a house of habitation, a place for theeyou to dwell in for everforever. |
| 8:14 |
AndThe the king turned his face about, around and blessed all the assembly of Israel:; and all the assembly of Israel stood. |
| 8:15 |
AndHe he said, Blessed beis JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, who spakespoke with his mouth untoto David thyyour father, and hathhas with his hand fulfilled it, saying, |
| 8:16 |
Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel. |
| 8:17 |
Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel. |
| 8:18 |
But JehovahYahweh said untoto David my father, Whereas it was in thyyour heart to build a house for my name, thouyou didstdid well that it was in thyyour heart:. |
| 8:19 |
neverthelessNevertheless, thouyou shaltshall not build the house; but thyyour son thatwho shall come forth out of thyyour loinsbody, he shall build the house for my name. |
| 8:20 |
AndYahweh Jehovahhas hath established his word that he spakespoke; for I amhave risen up in the roomplace of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as JehovahYahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel. |
| 8:21 |
AndThere thereI have I set a place for the ark, whereinin which is theYahwehs covenant of Jehovah, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. |
| 8:22 |
And Solomon stood before theYahwehs altar of Jehovah in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forthout his hands toward heaven; |
| 8:23 |
and he said, O JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like theeyou, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepestkeeps covenant and lovingkindnessloving kindness with thyyour servants, thatwho walk before theeyou with all their heart; |
| 8:24 |
who hasthas kept with thyyour servant David my father that which thouyou didstpromised promise him:. yeaYes, thouyou spakestspoke with thyyour mouth, and hasthave fulfilled it with thyyour hand, as it is this daytoday. |
| 8:25 |
Now therefore, Omay JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, keep with thyyour servant David my father that which thouyou hasthave promised him, saying, There shall not fail theefrom you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thyyour children take heed to their way, to walk before me as thouyou hasthave walked before me. |
| 8:26 |
Now therefore, O God of Israel, please let thyyour word, I pray thee, be verified, which thouyou spakestspoke untoto thyyour servant David my father. |
| 8:27 |
But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? beholdBehold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannotcant contain theeyou; how much less this house that I have buildedbuilt! |
| 8:28 |
Yet have thou respect untofor the prayer of thyyour servant, and tofor his supplication, OYahweh Jehovah my God, to hearkenlisten untoto the cry and to the prayer which thyyour servant prayethprays before theeyou this daytoday; |
| 8:29 |
that thineyour eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereofof thouwhich hastyou have said, My name shall be there; to hearkenlisten untoto the prayer which thyyour servant shallprays pray toward this place. |
| 8:30 |
AndListen hearken thou to the supplication of thyyour servant, and of thyyour people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place:. yeaYes, hear thou in heaven, thyyour dwelling place; and when thouyou hearesthear, forgive. |
| 8:31 |
If a man sinsins against his neighbor, and an oath beis laid uponon him to cause him to swear, and he comecomes and swearswears before thineyour altar in this house;, |
| 8:32 |
then hear thou in heaven, and doact, and judge thyyour servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way uponon his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. |
| 8:33 |
When thyyour people Israel are smittenstruck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee;you, if they turn again to thee, you and confess thyyour name, and pray and make supplication untoto theeyou in this house:, |
| 8:34 |
then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thyyour people Israel, and bring them again untoto the land which thouyou gavestgave untoto their fathers. |
| 8:35 |
When heaventhe sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee;you, if they pray toward this place, and confess thyyour name, and turn from their sin, when thouyou dost afflict them:, |
| 8:36 |
then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thyyour servants, and of thyyour people Israel, when thouyou teachestteach them the good way whereinin which they should walk; and send rain uponon thyyour land, which thouyou hasthave given to thyyour people for an inheritance. |
| 8:37 |
If there beis famine in the land famine, if there beis pestilence, if there beis blastingblight, or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besiegebesieges them in the land of their cities;, whatsoeverwhatever plague, whatsoeverwhatever sickness there be;is, |
| 8:38 |
whatwhatever prayer and supplication soeveris be made by any man, or by all thyyour people Israel, who shall each know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forthout his hands toward this house:, |
| 8:39 |
then hear thou in heaven, thyyour dwelling place, and forgive, and doact, and rendergive untoto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thouyou knowest;know for thouyou, even thouyou only, knowestknow the hearts of all the children of men; |
| 8:40 |
that they may fear theeyou all the days that they live in the land which thouyou gavestgave untoto our fathers. |
| 8:41 |
Moreover, concerning the foreigner, thatwho is not of thyyour people Israel, when he shallcomes come out of a far country for thyyour names sake |
| 8:42 |
for they shall hear of thyyour great name, and of thyyour mighty hand, and of thineyour outstretched arm;, when he shallcomes come and prayprays toward this house;, |
| 8:43 |
hear thou in heaven, thyyour dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner callethcalls to theeyou for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thyyour name, to fear theeyou, as dothdo thyyour people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thyyour name. |
| 8:44 |
If thyyour people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatsoeverwhatever way thouyou shaltshall send them, and they pray untoto JehovahYahweh toward the city which thouyou hasthave chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thyyour name;, |
| 8:45 |
then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. |
| 8:46 |
If they sin against theeyou for there is no man thatwho sinnethdoesnt notsin, and thouyou beare angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive untoto the land of the enemy, far off or near; |
| 8:47 |
yet if they shallrepent bethink themselves in the land whitherwhere they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication untoto theeyou in the land of themthose thatwho carried them captive, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely,; we have dealt wickedly;, |
| 8:48 |
if they return untoto theeyou with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray untoto theeyou toward their land, which thouyou gavestgave untoto their fathers, the city which thouyou hasthave chosen, and the house which I have built for thyyour name:, |
| 8:49 |
then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven, thyyour dwelling place, and maintain their cause; |
| 8:50 |
and forgive thyyour people who have sinned against theeyou, and all their transgressions whereinin which they have transgressed against theeyou; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them |
| 8:51 |
for they are thyyour people, and thineyour inheritance, which thouyou broughtestbrought forth out of Egypt, from the midstmiddle of the iron furnace of iron; |
| 8:52 |
that thineyour eyes may be open untoto the supplication of thyyour servant, and untoto the supplication of thyyour people Israel, to hearkenlisten untoto them whensoeverwhenever they cry untoto theeyou. |
| 8:53 |
For thouyou didstseparated separate them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be thineyour inheritance, as thouyou spakestspoke by Moses thyyour servant, when thouyou broughtestbrought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord JehovahYahweh. |
| 8:54 |
AndIt it was so, that, when Solomon had madefinished an end of praying all this prayer and supplication untoto JehovahYahweh, he arose from before theYahwehs altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forthout toward heaven. |
| 8:55 |
AndHe he stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying, |
| 8:56 |
Blessed be JehovahYahweh, thatwho hathhas given rest untoto his people Israel, according to all that he promised:. thereThere hathhas not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant. |
| 8:57 |
JehovahMay Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers:. letLet him not leave us, noror forsake us;, |
| 8:58 |
that he may incline our hearts untoto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers. |
| 8:59 |
AndLet let these my words, wherewithwith which I have made supplication before JehovahYahweh, be nighnear untoto JehovahYahweh our God day and night, that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall requirerequires; |
| 8:60 |
that all the peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah,Yahweh hehimself is God;. thereThere is noneno one else. |
| 8:61 |
Let your heart therefore be perfect with JehovahYahweh our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 8:62 |
AndThe the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before JehovahYahweh. |
| 8:63 |
And Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered untoto JehovahYahweh, twenty two andthousand twentyhead thousandof oxen, cattle and aone hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated theYahwehs house of Jehovah. |
| 8:64 |
The same day did the king hallowmade the middle of the court holy that was before theYahwehs house of Jehovah; for there he offered the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the brazenbronze altar that was before JehovahYahweh was too little to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings. |
| 8:65 |
So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath untoto the brook of Egypt, before JehovahYahweh our God, seven days and seven more days, even fourteen days. |
| 8:66 |
On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went untoto their tents joyful and glad ofin hearttheir hearts for all the goodness that JehovahYahweh had showedshown untoto David his servant, and to Israel his people. |
| 9:1 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and the kings house, and all Solomons desire which he was pleased to do, |
| 9:2 |
thatYahweh Jehovah appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared untoto him at Gibeon. |
| 9:3 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto him, I have heard thyyour prayer and thyyour supplication, that thouyou hasthave made before me:. I have hallowedmade this house holy, which thouyou hasthave built, to put my name there for everforever; and minemy eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually. |
| 9:4 |
AndAs as for theeyou, if thouyou wiltwill walk before me, as David thyyour father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded theeyou, and wiltwill keep my statutes and minemy ordinances;, |
| 9:5 |
then I will establish the throne of thyyour kingdom over Israel for everforever, according as I promised to David thyyour father, saying, There shall not fail theefrom you a man uponon the throne of Israel. |
| 9:6 |
But if yeyou shall turn away from following me, yeyou or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;, |
| 9:7 |
then I will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and I will cast this house, which I have hallowedmade holy for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shallwill be a proverb and a byword among all peoples. |
| 9:8 |
AndThough though this house is so high, yet shalleveryone everywho onepasses that passeth by it will be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shallwill say, Why hathhas JehovahYahweh done thusthis untoto this land, and to this house? |
| 9:9 |
and they shallwill answer, Because they forsookabandoned JehovahYahweh their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laidembraced hold on other gods, and worshippedworshiped them, and served them:. thereforeTherefore hathYahweh Jehovahhas brought all this evil uponon them. |
| 9:10 |
AndAt it came to pass at the end of twenty years, whereinin which Solomon had built the two houses, theYahwehs house of Jehovah and the kings house |
| 9:11 |
now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fircypress trees, and with gold, according to all his desire, thatKing then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. |
| 9:12 |
And Hiram came out fromof Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleaseddidnt please him not. |
| 9:13 |
AndHe he said, What cities are these which thouyou hasthave given me, my brother? AndHe he called them the land of Cabul untoto this day. |
| 9:14 |
And Hiram sent to the king sixscoreone hundred twenty talents of gold. |
| 9:15 |
AndThis this is the reason of the levyforced labor which kingKing Solomon raised, conscripted: to build theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and his own house, and Millo, andJerusalems the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer. |
| 9:16 |
Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, andburned burnt it with fire, andkilled slain the Canaanites thatwho dweltlived in the city, and given it for a portionwedding untogift to his daughter, Solomons wife. |
| 9:17 |
And Solomon built in the land Gezer, and Beth horonHoron the netherlower, |
| 9:18 |
and Baalath, and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land, |
| 9:19 |
and all the storestorage cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion. |
| 9:20 |
As for all the people thatwho were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel;— |
| 9:21 |
their children thatwho were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, —of them did Solomon raiseraised a levy of bondservants untoto this day. |
| 9:22 |
But of the children of Israel did Solomon makemade no bondservants; but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen. |
| 9:23 |
These were the five hundred fifty chief officers thatwho were over Solomons work, five hundred and fifty, who bareruled rule over the people thatwho wroughtlabored in the work. |
| 9:24 |
But Pharaohs daughter came up out of theDavids city ofto David unto her house which Solomon had built for her:. thenThen did he buildbuilt Millo. |
| 9:25 |
And three times in a year did Solomon offeroffered burnt offerings and peace offerings uponon the altar which he built untoto JehovahYahweh three times per year, burning incense therewith, with uponthem on the altar that was before JehovahYahweh. So he finished the house. |
| 9:26 |
AndKing king Solomon made a navyfleet of ships in Ezion geberGeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom. |
| 9:27 |
And Hiram sent in the navyfleet his servants, shipmensailors thatwho had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon. |
| 9:28 |
AndThey they came to Ophir, and fetched from thencethere gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to kingKing Solomon. |
| 10:1 |
AndWhen when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning theYahwehs name of Jehovah, she came to provetest him with hard questions. |
| 10:2 |
AndShe she came to Jerusalem with a very great traincaravan, with camels that barebore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she washad come to Solomon, she communedtalked with him ofabout all that was in her heart. |
| 10:3 |
And Solomon toldanswered her all her questions:. thereThere waswasnt not anything hidhidden from the king which he tolddidnt tell her not. |
| 10:4 |
AndWhen when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, |
| 10:5 |
and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministersofficials, and their apparelclothing, and his cupbearerscup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up untoto theYahwehs house, of Jehovah; there was no more spirit in her. |
| 10:6 |
AndShe she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in minemy own land of thineyour acts, and of thyyour wisdom. |
| 10:7 |
HowbeitHowever, I believeddidnt notbelieve the words, until I came, and minemy eyes had seen it:. andBehold, behold, not theeven half was not told me;! thyYour wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard. |
| 10:8 |
Happy are thyyour men, happy are these thyyour servants, thatwho stand continually before theeyou, andwho that hear thyyour wisdom. |
| 10:9 |
Blessed beis JehovahYahweh thyyour God, who delighted in theeyou, to set theeyou on the throne of Israel:. becauseBecause JehovahYahweh loved Israel for everforever, therefore he made heyou thee king, to do justice and righteousness. |
| 10:10 |
AndShe she gave the king aone hundred and twenty talents of gold, and ofa spices very great storequantity of spices, and precious stones:. thereNever cameagain nowas morethere such an abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to kingKing Solomon. |
| 10:11 |
AndThe thefleet navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, also brought in from Ophir great plentyquantities of almug trees and precious stones. |
| 10:12 |
AndThe the king made of the almug trees pillars for theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and for the kings house, harps also and psalteriesstringed instruments for the singers:; there came no such almug trees, norcame or were seen, untoto this day. |
| 10:13 |
AndKing king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoeverwhatever she asked, besidesin addition to that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants. |
| 10:14 |
Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescoresixty and six talents of gold, |
| 10:15 |
besidesin addition to that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mingledmixed people, and of the governors of the country. |
| 10:16 |
AndKing king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler. |
| 10:17 |
AndHe he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three poundsminas of gold went to one shield:; and the king put them in the houseHouse of the forestForest of Lebanon. |
| 10:19 |
There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were staysarmrests on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the staysarmrests. |
| 10:20 |
AndTwelve twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other uponon the six steps:. thereNothing waslike notit thewas like made in any kingdom. |
| 10:21 |
AndAll allKing king Solomons drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the houseHouse of the forestForest of Lebanon were of pure gold:. noneNone were of silver;, because it was nothingconsidered accounted of little value in the days of Solomon. |
| 10:22 |
For the king had ata seafleet aof navyships of Tarshish withat thesea navywith ofHirams Hiram:fleet. onceOnce every three years came the navyfleet of Tarshish, came bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. |
| 10:23 |
So kingKing Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. |
| 10:24 |
AndAll all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. |
| 10:25 |
AndYear theyafter broughtyear, every man brought his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raimentclothing, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. |
| 10:26 |
And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen:. andHe he had aone thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen,. thatHe hekept bestowedthem in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. |
| 10:27 |
AndThe the king made silver toas becommon as stones in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars madeas hecommon to be as the sycomoresycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance. |
| 10:28 |
AndThe the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt;. andThe the kings merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price. |
| 10:29 |
AndA a chariot camewas upimported andfrom went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for aone hundred andfifty fiftyshekels; and so forthey exported them to all the kings of the Hittites, and forto the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means. |
| 11:1 |
Now kingKing Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh,: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites;, |
| 11:2 |
of the nations concerning which JehovahYahweh said untoto the children of Israel, YeYou shall not go among them, neither shall they come among you;, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods:. Solomon clavejoined untoto these in love. |
| 11:3 |
AndHe he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines;. andHis his wives turned away his heart away. |
| 11:4 |
ForWhen it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with JehovahYahweh his God, as was the heart of David his father was. |
| 11:6 |
And Solomon did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, and wentdidnt notgo fully after JehovahYahweh, as did David his father did. |
| 11:7 |
Then did Solomon buildbuilt a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, inon the mountmountain that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon. |
| 11:8 |
AndSo sohe did he for all his foreign wives, who burntburned incense and sacrificed untoto their gods. |
| 11:9 |
AndYahweh Jehovah was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, who had appeared untoto him twice, |
| 11:10 |
and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods:; but he keptdidnt notkeep that which JehovahYahweh commanded. |
| 11:11 |
WhereforeTherefore JehovahYahweh said untoto Solomon, ForasmuchBecause as this is done ofby theeyou, and thouyou hasthave not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded theeyou, I will surely rendtear the kingdom from theeyou, and will give it to thyyour servant. |
| 11:12 |
NotwithstandingNevertheless, in thy days I will not do it in your days, for David thyyour fathers sake:; but I will rendtear it out of theyour sons hand of thy son. |
| 11:13 |
HowbeitHowever, I will not rendtear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thyyour son, for David my servants sake, and for Jerusalems sake which I have chosen. |
| 11:14 |
AndYahweh Jehovah raised up an adversary untoto Solomon,: Hadad the Edomite:. heHe was one of the kings seedoffspring in Edom. |
| 11:15 |
For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the hostarmy washad gone up to bury the slain, and had smittenstruck every male in Edom |
| 11:16 |
for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom;, |
| 11:17 |
that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his fathers servants with him, to go into Egypt, when Hadad beingwas yetstill a little child. |
| 11:18 |
AndThey they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, untoto Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, and appointed him victualsfood, and gave him land. |
| 11:19 |
And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him toas wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen. |
| 11:20 |
AndThe the sister of Tahpenes barebore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaohs house; and Genubath was in Pharaohs house among the sons of Pharaoh. |
| 11:21 |
AndWhen when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the hostarmy was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to minemy own country. |
| 11:22 |
Then Pharaoh said untoto him, But what hasthave thouyou lacked with me, that, behold, thouyou seekestseek to go to thineyour own country? AndHe he answered, Nothing:, howbeithowever only let me depart. |
| 11:23 |
And God raised up anotheran adversary untoto him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his Lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah. |
| 11:24 |
AndHe he gathered men untoto himhimself, and became captain over a troop, when David slewkilled them of Zobah:. andThey they went to Damascus, and dweltlived thereinthere, and reigned in Damascus. |
| 11:25 |
AndHe he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besidesin addition to the mischief thatof Hadad. did:He and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria. |
| 11:26 |
And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mothers name was Zeruah, a widow, he also lifted up his hand against the king. |
| 11:27 |
AndThis this was the reason why he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of thehis cityfather ofDavids David his fathercity. |
| 11:28 |
AndThe the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he gaveput him in charge overof all the labor of the house of Joseph. |
| 11:29 |
AndAt it came to pass at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him inon the way;. nowNow Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and theythe two of them were alone in the field. |
| 11:30 |
And Ahijah laidtook hold of the new garment that was on him, and renttore it in twelve pieces. |
| 11:31 |
AndHe he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces; for thus saith JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, says, Behold, I will rendtear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to theeyou |
| 11:32 |
but he shall have one tribe, for my servant Davids sake and for Jerusalems sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel;, |
| 11:33 |
because that they have forsaken me, and have worshippedworshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon;. andThey they have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in minemy eyes, and to keep my statutes and minemy ordinances, as did David his father did. |
| 11:34 |
HowbeitHowever, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand;, but I will make him prince all the days of his life, for David my servants sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes;, |
| 11:35 |
but I will take the kingdom out of his sons hand, and will give it untoto theeyou, even ten tribes. |
| 11:36 |
AndI unto his son will I give one tribe to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp alwayalways before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen mefor myself to put my name there. |
| 11:37 |
And I will take theeyou, and thouyou shaltshall reign according to all that thyyour soul desirethdesires, and shaltshall be king over Israel. |
| 11:38 |
AndIt it shall be, if thouyou wiltwill hearkenlisten untoto all that I command theeyou, and wiltwill walk in my ways, and do that which is right in minemy eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did;, that I will be with theeyou, and will build theeyou a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel untoto theeyou. |
| 11:39 |
And I will for this afflict the seedoffspring of David for this, but not for everforever. |
| 11:40 |
Therefore Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam;, but Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, untoto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon. |
| 11:41 |
Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, arearent they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon? |
| 11:42 |
AndThe the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years. |
| 11:43 |
And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in thehis cityfather ofDavids Davidcity; his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his steadplace. |
| 12:1 |
And Rehoboam went to Shechem:, for all Israel werehad come to Shechem to make him king. |
| 12:2 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it for he was yet in Egypt, whitherwhere he had fled from the presence of kingKing Solomon, and Jeroboam dweltlived in Egypt,; |
| 12:3 |
and they sent and called him, that Jeroboam and all the assembly of Israel came, and spakespoke untoto Rehoboam, saying, |
| 12:4 |
ThyYour father made our yoke grievous:difficult. nowNow therefore make thou the grievoushard service of thyyour father, and his heavy yoke which he put uponon us, lighter, and we will serve theeyou. |
| 12:5 |
AndHe he said untoto them, Depart yet for three days, then come againback to me. AndSo the people departed. |
| 12:6 |
AndKing king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, thatwho had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel do you give ye me to return answer tothese this people? |
| 12:7 |
AndThey they spake unto himreplied, saying, If thouyou wiltwill be a servant untoto this people this daytoday, and wiltwill serve them, and answer them, andwith speak good words to them, then they will be thyyour servants for everforever. |
| 12:8 |
But he forsookabandoned the counsel of the old men which they had given him, and took counsel with the young men thatwho werehad grown up with him, thatwho stood before him. |
| 12:9 |
AndHe he said untoto them, What counsel do you give ye, that we may return answer tothese this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke that thyyour father did put uponon us lighter? |
| 12:10 |
AndThe the young men thatwho werehad grown up with him spakesaid untoto him, saying,Tell Thusthese shalt thou say unto this people thatwho spakespoke untoto theeyou, saying, ThyYour father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter untoto us;—tell thus shalt thou speak unto them, My little finger is thicker than my fathers loinswaist. |
| 12:11 |
AndNow now whereas my father didburdened lade you with a heavy yoke, but I will add to your yoke:. myMy father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. |
| 12:12 |
So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king badeasked, saying, Come to me again the third day. |
| 12:13 |
AndThe the king answered the people roughly, and forsookabandoned the counsel of the old men which they had given him, |
| 12:14 |
and spakespoke to them afteraccording to the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke:. myMy father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. |
| 12:15 |
So the king hearkeneddidnt notlisten untoto the people; for it was a thing brought about offrom JehovahYahweh, that he might establish his word, which JehovahYahweh spakespoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat. |
| 12:16 |
AndWhen when all Israel saw that the king hearkeneddidnt notlisten untoto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neitherWe dont have wean inheritance in the son of Jesse:. toTo your tents, O Israel:! nowNow see to thineyour own house, David. So Israel departed untoto their tents. |
| 12:17 |
But as for the children of Israel thatwho dweltlived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them. |
| 12:18 |
Then kingKing Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the men subject to taskworkforced labor; and all Israel stoned him to death with stones. AndKing king Rehoboam madehurried speed to get himhimself up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem. |
| 12:19 |
So Israel rebelled against theDavids house ofto David unto this day. |
| 12:20 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam washad returned, that they sent and called him untoto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel:. thereThere was noneno thatone who followed theDavids house, ofexcept David, for but the tribe of Judah only. |
| 12:21 |
AndWhen when Rehoboam washad come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, and the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and fourscoreeighty thousand chosen men, thatwho were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. |
| 12:22 |
But the word of God came untoto Shemaiah the man of God, saying, |
| 12:23 |
Speak untoto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and untoto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people, saying, |
| 12:24 |
ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays, YeYou shall not go up, noror fight against your brethrenbrothers, the children of Israel:. Everyone return every man to his house; for this thing is offrom me. So they hearkenedlistened untoto theYahwehs word of Jehovah, and returned and went their way, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah. |
| 12:25 |
Then Jeroboam built Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and dweltlived thereinin it; and he went out from thence, there and built Penuel. |
| 12:26 |
And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now will the kingdom will return to theDavids house of David:. |
| 12:27 |
ifIf this people gogoes up to offer sacrifices in theYahwehs house of Jehovah at Jerusalem, then will the heart of this people will turn again untoto their Lord, even untoto Rehoboam king of Judah; and they will kill me, and return to Rehoboam king of Judah. |
| 12:28 |
WhereuponSo the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said untoto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem:. Look and behold thyyour gods, O Israel, which brought theeyou up out of the land of Egypt.! |
| 12:29 |
AndHe he set the one in Beth elBethel, and the other he put he in Dan. |
| 12:30 |
AndThis this thing became a sin;, for the people went even as far as Dan to worship before the one, even unto Danthere. |
| 12:31 |
AndHe he made houses of high places, and made priests from among all the people, thatwho were not of the sons of Levi. |
| 12:32 |
And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he went up untoto the altar;. soHe did heso in Beth elBethel, sacrificing untoto the calves that he had made:, and he placed in BethBethel el the priests of the high places that he had made. |
| 12:33 |
AndHe he went up untoto the altar which he had made in BethBethel el on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart:; and he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and went up untoto the altar, to burn incense. |
| 13:1 |
AndBehold, behold, there came a man of God came out of Judah by theYahwehs word ofto JehovahBethel; unto Beth el: and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense. |
| 13:2 |
AndHe he cried against the altar by theYahwehs word of Jehovah, and said, OAltar! altar,Altar! altar,Yahweh thus saith Jehovahsays: Behold, a son shallwill be born untoto theDavids house of David, Josiah by name;. andOn uponyou theehe shallwill he sacrifice the priests of the high places thatwho burn incense uponon theeyou, and mensthey boneswill shallburn theymens burnbones uponon theeyou. |
| 13:3 |
AndHe he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which JehovahYahweh hathhas spoken: Behold, the altar shallwill be rentsplit apart, and the ashes that are uponon it shallwill be poured out. |
| 13:4 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Beth elBethel, that Jeroboam put forthout his hand from the altar, saying, LaySeize hold on him.! AndHis his hand, which he put forthout against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himhimself. |
| 13:5 |
The altar was also wassplit rentapart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by theYahwehs word of Jehovah. |
| 13:6 |
AndThe the king answered and said unto the man of God, EntreatNow nowintercede for the favor of JehovahYahweh thyyour God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. AndThe the man of God entreatedinterceded Jehovahwith Yahweh, and the kings hand was restored to him again, and became as it was before. |
| 13:7 |
AndThe the king said untoto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyselfyourself, and I will give theeyou a reward. |
| 13:8 |
AndThe the man of God said untoto the king, IfEven thouif wiltyou givegave me half thyof your house, I willwould not go in with theeyou, neither willwould I eat bread nor drink water in this place; |
| 13:9 |
for so was it chargedcommanded me by theYahwehs word of Jehovah, saying, ThouYou shaltshall eat no bread, nor drink no water, neitherand dont return by the way that thouyou camestcame. |
| 13:10 |
So he went another way, and returneddidnt notreturn by the way that he came to Beth elBethel. |
| 13:11 |
Now there dwelt an old prophet lived in BethBethel, el; and one of his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in BethBethel. el:They also told their father the words which he had spoken untoto the king, them also they told unto their father. |
| 13:12 |
AndTheir their father said untoto them, WhatWhich way wentdid he go? Now his sons had seen whatwhich way the man of God went, thatwho came from Judah. |
| 13:13 |
AndHe he said untoto his sons, Saddle me the assdonkey for me. So they saddled him the assdonkey for him; and he rode thereonon it. |
| 13:14 |
AndHe he went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak;. andHe he said untoto him, ArtAre thouyou the man of God thatwho camestcame from Judah? AndHe he said, I am. |
| 13:15 |
Then he said untoto him, Come home with me, and eat bread. |
| 13:16 |
AndHe he said, I may not return with theeyou, nor go in with thee;you. neitherI will Inot eat bread noror drink water with theeyou in this place:. |
| 13:17 |
forFor it was said to me by theYahwehs word of Jehovah, ThouYou shaltshall eat no bread noror drink water there, norand dont turn again to go by the way that thouyou camestcame. |
| 13:18 |
AndHe he said untoto him, I also am a prophet as thouyou artare; and an angel spakespoke untoto me by theYahwehs word of Jehovah, saying, Bring him back with theeyou into thyyour house, that he may eat bread and drink water. ButHe he lied untoto him. |
| 13:19 |
So he went back with him, andate did eat bread in his house, and drank water. |
| 13:20 |
AndAs it came to pass, as they sat at the table, thatYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto the prophet thatwho brought him back; |
| 13:21 |
and he cried untoout to the man of God thatwho came from Judah, saying, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays, ForasmuchBecause asyou thouhave hast been disobedient untoto theYahwehs mouth of Jehovahword, and hasthave not kept the commandment which JehovahYahweh thyyour God commanded theeyou, |
| 13:22 |
but camestcame back, and hasthave eaten bread and drunkdrank water in the place of which he said to theeyou, Eat no bread, and drink no water;, thyyour body shallwill not come untoto the sepulchretomb of thyyour fathers. |
| 13:23 |
AndAfter it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunkdrank, that he saddled for him the ass, donkey to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back. |
| 13:24 |
AndWhen when he washad gone, a lion met him by the way, and slewkilled him:. andHis his body was castthrown inon the waypath, and the assdonkey stood by it;. theThe lion also stood by the body. |
| 13:25 |
AndBehold, behold, men passed by, and saw the body castthrown inon the waypath, and the lion standing by the body; and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dweltlived. |
| 13:26 |
AndWhen when the prophet thatwho brought him back from the way heard thereofof it, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient untoto theYahwehs mouthword. ofTherefore Jehovah:Yahweh thereforehas Jehovah hath delivered him untoto the lion, which hathhas tornmauled him, and slain him, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke untoto him. |
| 13:27 |
AndHe hesaid spake to his sons, saying, Saddle me the ass.donkey Andfor me, and they saddled it. |
| 13:28 |
AndHe he went and found his body castthrown inon the waypath, and the assdonkey and the lion standing by the body:. theThe lion had not eaten the body, nor tornmauled the assdonkey. |
| 13:29 |
AndThe the prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it uponon the assdonkey, and brought it back;. andHe he came to the city of the old prophet, to mourn, and to bury him. |
| 13:30 |
AndHe he laid his body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, my brother! |
| 13:31 |
AndAfter it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spakespoke to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchretomb whereinin which the man of God is buried;. layLay my bones beside his bones. |
| 13:32 |
For the saying which he cried by theYahwehs word of Jehovah against the altar in Beth elBethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shallwill surely come to passhappen. |
| 13:33 |
After this thing, Jeroboam returneddidnt notturn from his evil way, but again made againpriests of the high places from among all the people. priestsWhoever ofwanted the high places: whosoever wouldto, he consecrated him, that there might be priests of the high places. |
| 13:34 |
AndThis this thing became sin untoto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the facesurface of the earth. |
| 14:1 |
At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fellbecame sick. |
| 14:2 |
And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise,Please Iget prayup thee, and disguise thyselfyourself, so that thouyou wont be notrecognized knownas toJeroboams be the wife. ofGo Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh:. beholdBehold, there is Ahijah the prophet is there, who spakesaid concerning me that I shouldwould be king over this people. |
| 14:3 |
AndTake take with theeyou ten loaves of bread, andsome cakes, and a crusejar of honey, and go to him:. heHe will tell theeyou what shallwill become of the child. |
| 14:4 |
And Jeroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to theAhijahs house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see;, for his eyes were set by reason of his age. |
| 14:5 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto Ahijah, Behold, theJeroboams wife ofis Jeroboamcoming cometh to inquire of theeyou concerning her son;, for he is sick:. thusTell andher thussuch shaltand thou say unto hersuch; for it will be, when she comethcomes in, that she will feignpretend herself to be another woman. |
| 14:6 |
AndSo it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thouJeroboams wife! ofWhy Jeroboam;do whyyou feignestpretend thou thyself to be another? forFor I am sent to theeyou with heavy tidingsnews. |
| 14:7 |
Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, says: ForasmuchBecause as I exalted theeyou from among the people, and made theeyou prince over my people Israel, |
| 14:8 |
and renttore the kingdom away from theDavids house of David, and gave it theeto you; and yet thouyou hasthave not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in minemy eyes, |
| 14:9 |
but hasthave done evil above all thatwho were before theeyou, and hasthave gone and made theefor yourself other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hasthave cast me behind thyyour back:, |
| 14:10 |
therefore, behold, I will bring evil uponon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam everyeveryone manwho childurinates on a wall, himhe thatwho is shut up and himhe thatwho is left at large in Israel, and will utterly sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweepethsweeps away dung, tilluntil it beis all gone. |
| 14:11 |
HimThe thatdogs diethwill ofeat he who belongs to Jeroboam who dies in the city; shalland the dogsbirds eat;of andthe himsky thatwill dietheat inhe thewho fielddies shallin the birdsfield, of the heavens eat: for JehovahYahweh hathhas spoken it. |
| 14:12 |
Arise thou therefore, getand theego to thyyour house:. andWhen whenyour thy feet enter into the city, the child shallwill die. |
| 14:13 |
AndAll all Israel shallwill mourn for him, and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam shallwill come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam. |
| 14:14 |
Moreover JehovahYahweh will raise him up a king for himself over Israel, who shallwill cut off the house of Jeroboam. thatThis is the day:! but whatWhat? evenEven now. |
| 14:15 |
For JehovahYahweh will smitestrike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their AsherimAsherah poles, provoking JehovahYahweh to anger. |
| 14:16 |
AndHe he will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he hathhas sinned, and wherewithwith which he hathhas made Israel to sin. |
| 14:17 |
And Jeroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah:. andAs as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died. |
| 14:18 |
AndAll all Israel buried him, and mourned for him, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet. |
| 14:19 |
AndThe the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, fought and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. |
| 14:20 |
AndThe the days which Jeroboam reigned were twenty two and twenty years:; andthen he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his steadplace. |
| 14:21 |
And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. | 14:22 |
And Judah did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done. |
| 14:23 |
For they also built themfor themselves high places, andsacred pillars, and Asherim,Asherah poles on every high hill, and under every green tree;. |
| 14:24 |
andThere there were also sodomites in the land:. theyThey did according to all the abominations of the nations which JehovahYahweh drove out before the children of Israel. |
| 14:25 |
AndIn it came to pass in the fifth year of kingKing Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem; |
| 14:26 |
and he took away the treasures of theYahwehs house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the kings house;. heHe even took away all: andof heit, tookincluding away all the gold shields of gold which Solomon had made. |
| 14:27 |
AndKing king Rehoboam made inshields theirof steadbronze shieldsin oftheir brassplace, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the kings house. |
| 14:28 |
AndIt it was so, that, as oftoften as the king went into theYahwehs house of Jehovah, the guard barebore them, and brought them back into the guard chamberroom. |
| 14:29 |
Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? |
| 14:30 |
AndThere there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. |
| 14:31 |
And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in theDavids city. ofHis David: and his mothers name was Naamah the Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his steadplace. |
| 15:1 |
Now in the eighteenth year of kingKing Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijam began Abijam to reign over Judah. |
| 15:2 |
ThreeHe years reigned hethree years in Jerusalem:. andHis his mothers name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom. |
| 15:3 |
AndHe he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with JehovahYahweh his God, as the heart of David his father. |
| 15:4 |
Nevertheless for Davids sake, didYahweh Jehovah his God givegave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem; |
| 15:5 |
because David did that which was right in theYahwehs eyes of Jehovah, and turneddidnt notturn asideaway from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, saveexcept only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. |
| 15:7 |
AndThe the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? AndThere there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam. |

| 15:12 |
AndHe he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made. |
| 15:13 |
AndHe also removed Maacah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah;. and Asa cut down her image, and burntburned it at the brook Kidron. |
| 15:14 |

| 15:15 |

| 15:20 |
And Ben hadadHadad hearkenedlistened untoto kingKing Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and smotestruck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel bethBeth maacahMaacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali. |
| 15:21 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereofof it, that he leftstopped off building Ramah, and dweltlived in Tirzah. |
| 15:22 |

| 15:28 |
Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah, did Baasha slaykilled him, and reigned in his steadplace. |
| 15:29 |
AndAs it came to pass that, as soon as he was king, he smotestruck all the house of Jeroboam:. heHe leftdidnt notleave to Jeroboam any thatwho breathed, until he had destroyed him;, according untoto the saying of JehovahYahweh, which he spakespoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite; |
| 15:30 |
for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and wherewithwith which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation wherewithwith which he provoked JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, to anger. |
| 15:31 |
Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? |

| 16:3 |
behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make thyyour house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. |
| 16:4 |
HimThe thatdogs diethwill ofeat BaashaBaashas indescendants thewho citydie shallin the dogs eatcity; and himhe thatwho diethdies of his in the field, shall the birds of the heavenssky will eat. |
| 16:5 |
Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? |
| 16:6 |
And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his steadplace. |
| 16:7 |
AndMoreover moreoverYahwehs word came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of Jehovah against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smotestruck him. |

AndWhen it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smoteattacked all the house of Baasha:. heHe leftdidnt leave him not a single manone child, who neitherurinates ofon a wall among his kinsfolks, relatives noror of his friends. |
| 16:12 |
Thus did Zimri destroydestroyed all the house of Baasha, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet, |
| 16:13 |
for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and wherewithwith which they made Israel to sin, to provoke JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities. |
| 16:14 |

| 16:17 |
And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah. |
| 16:18 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castlefortified part of the kings house, and burntburned the kings house over him with fire, and died, |
| 16:19 |
for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin. |
| 16:20 |
Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wroughtcommitted, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? |
| 16:21 |
Then were the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king;, and half followed Omri. |
| 16:22 |
But the people thatwho followed Omri prevailed against the people thatwho followed Tibni the son of Ginath:; so Tibni died, and Omri reigned. |
| 16:23 |
In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began Omri to reign over Israel, andfor reigned twelve years:. He reigned six years reigned he in Tirzah. |
| 16:24 |

| 16:25 |
And Omri did that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all thatwho were before him. |
| 16:26 |
For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewithwith which he made Israel to sin, to provoke JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities. |
| 16:27 |
Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, arearent they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? |

| 16:31 |
AndAs it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took toas wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshippedworshiped him. |
| 16:32 |
AndHe heraised reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. |
| 16:33 |

| 17:2 |
AndThen theYahwehs word of Jehovah came untoto him, saying, |
| 17:3 |
GetGo theeaway hencefrom here, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyselfyourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan. |
| 17:4 |
AndYou it shall be, that thou shalt drink offrom the brook;. and I have commanded the ravens to feed theeyou there. |

| 17:6 |
AndThe the ravens brought him bread and fleshmeat in the morning, and bread and fleshmeat in the evening; and he drank offrom the brook. |

AndAfter it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land. |
| 17:8 |
AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came untoto him, saying, |
| 17:9 |
Arise, getgo thee to Zarephath, which belongethbelongs to Sidon, and dwellstay there:. beholdBehold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain theeyou. |
| 17:10 |
So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks:. andHe he called to her, and said, FetchPlease get me, I pray thee, a little water in a vesseljar, that I may drink. |
| 17:11 |
AndAs as she was going to fetchget it, he called to her, and said, BringPlease bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thyyour hand. |
| 17:12 |
AndShe she said, As JehovahYahweh thyyour God livethlives, I dont have notanything a cakebaked, but only a handful of meal in thea jar, and a little oil in thea cruse:jar. andBehold, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dressbake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. |
| 17:13 |
And Elijah said untoto her, FearDont not;be goafraid. Go and do as thouyou hasthave said; but make me thereof a little cake from it first, and bring it forthout untoto me, and afterward make some for theeyou and for thyyour son. |
| 17:14 |
For thus saith JehovahYahweh, the God of Israel, says, The jar of meal shallwill not wasterun out, neitherand shall the crusejar of oil will not fail, until the day that JehovahYahweh sendethsends rain uponon the earth. |
| 17:15 |
AndShe she went and did according to the saying of Elijah:; and she, and he, and her house, household didate eat many days. |
| 17:16 |
The jar of meal wasteddidnt not,run neitherout didand the crusejar of oil didnt fail, according to theYahwehs word of Jehovah, which he spakespoke by Elijah. |
| 17:17 |
AndAfter it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fellbecame sick; and his sickness was so sore, severe that there was no breath left in him. |
| 17:18 |
AndShe she said untoto Elijah, What have I to do with theeyou, Oyou thou man of God? thouYou arthave come untoto me to bring my sin to remembrancememory, and to slaykill my son! |
| 17:19 |
AndHe he said untoto her, Give me thyyour son. AndHe he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the chamber, room where he abodestayed, and laid him uponon his own bed. |
| 17:20 |
AndHe he cried untoto Jehovah,Yahweh and said, OYahweh Jehovah my God, hasthave thouyou also brought evil uponon the widow with whom I sojournam staying, by slayingkilling her son? |
| 17:21 |
AndHe he stretched himself uponon the child three times, and cried untoto Jehovah,Yahweh and said, OYahweh Jehovah my God, Iplease pray thee, let this childs soul come into him again. |
| 17:22 |
AndYahweh Jehovahlistened hearkenedto unto the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived. |
| 17:23 |
And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamberroom into the house, and delivered him untoto his mother; and Elijah said, SeeBehold, thyyour son livethlives. |
| 17:24 |
AndThe the woman said to Elijah, Now I know that thouyou artare a man of God, and that theYahwehs word of Jehovah in thyyour mouth is truth. |
| 18:1 |
AndAfter it came to pass after many days, thatYahwehs the word of Jehovah came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, Go, show thyselfyourself untoto Ahab; and I will send rain uponon the earth. |
| 18:2 |
And Elijah went to show himself untoto Ahab. AndThe the famine was soresevere in Samaria. |
| 18:3 |
And Ahab called Obadiah, who was over the household. Now Obadiah feared JehovahYahweh greatly:; |
| 18:4 |
for it was so, when Jezebel cut off theYahwehs prophets of Jehovah, that Obadiah took aone hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty into a cave, and fed them with bread and water. |
| 18:5 |
And Ahab said untoto Obadiah, Go through the land, untoto all the fountainssprings of water, and untoto all the brooks:. peradventurePerhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we not lose not all the beastsanimals. |
| 18:6 |
So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it:. Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself. |
| 18:7 |
AndAs as Obadiah was inon the way, behold, Elijah met him:. andHe herecognized knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Is it thouyou, my Lord Elijah? |
| 18:8 |
AndHe he answered him, It is I:. goGo, tell thyyour Lord, Behold, Elijah is here.! |
| 18:9 |
AndHe he said, WhereinHow have I sinned, that thouyou wouldestwould deliver thyyour servant into the hand of Ahab, to slaykill me? |
| 18:10 |
As JehovahYahweh thyyour God livethlives, there is no nation or kingdom, whitherwhere my Lord hathhas not sent to seek thee:you. andWhen when they said, He is not here, he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they founddidnt theefind notyou. |
| 18:11 |
AndNow nowyou thou sayestsay, Go, tell thyyour Lord, Behold, Elijah is here. |
| 18:12 |
AndIt it will come to passhappen, as soon as I amleave gone from theeyou, that theYahwehs Spirit of Jehovah will carry theeyou whither I dont know notwhere; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannotcant find theeyou, he will slaykill me:. butBut I, thyyour servant, fearhave Jehovahfeared Yahweh from my youth. |
| 18:13 |
WasWasnt it not told my Lord what I did when Jezebel slewkilled theYahwehs prophets of Jehovah, how I hid aone hundred men of JehovahsYahwehs prophets bywith fifty into a cave, and fed them with bread and water? |
| 18:14 |
AndNow nowyou thou sayestsay, Go, tell thyyour Lord, Behold, Elijah is here;. andHe he will slaykill me. |
| 18:15 |
And Elijah said, As JehovahYahweh of hostsArmies livethlives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself untoto him to daytoday. |
| 18:17 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said untoto him, Is itthat thouyou, thouyou troubler of Israel? |
| 18:18 |
AndHe he answered, I have not troubled Israel;, but thou, you and thyyour fathers house, in that yeyou have forsaken theYahwehs commandments of Jehovah, and thouyou hasthave followed the BaalimBaals. |
| 18:19 |
Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel untoto mountMount Carmel, and four hundred fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred andof fifty, and the prophets of the Asherah four hundred, thatwho eat at Jezebels table. |
| 18:20 |
So Ahab sent untoto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together untoto mountMount Carmel. |
| 18:21 |
And Elijah came near untoto all the people, and said, How long gowill yeyou limpingwaver between the two sides? ifIf JehovahYahweh beis God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. AndThe the people answereddidnt himsay not a word. |
| 18:22 |
Then Elijah said Elijahto unto the people, I, even I only, am left as a prophet of JehovahYahweh; but Baals prophets are four hundred and fifty men. |
| 18:23 |
Let them therefore give us two bullocksbulls; and let them choose one bullockbull for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, and put no fire under; and I will dress the other bullockbull, and lay it on the wood, and put no fire under it. |
| 18:24 |
AndYou call ye on the name of your god, and I will call on theYahwehs name. ofThe Jehovah; and the God thatwho answerethanswers by fire, let him be God. AndAll all the people answered, andWhat said, you Itsay is well spokengood. |
| 18:25 |
And Elijah said untoto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullockbull for yourselves, and dress it first;, for yeyou are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it. |
| 18:26 |
AndThey they took the bullockbull which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us.! But there was no voice, norand anynobody that answered. AndThey they leaped about the altar which was made. |
| 18:27 |
AndAt it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud;, for he is a god:. eitherEither he is musingdeep in thought, or he ishas gone asidesomewhere, or he is on a journey, or peradventureperhaps he sleepethsleeps and must be awakedawakened. |
| 18:28 |
AndThey they cried aloud, and cut themselves afterin their mannerway with knives and lances, tilluntil the blood gushed out uponon them. |
| 18:29 |
AndWhen it was so, when midday was past, that they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening oblationoffering; but there was neitherno voice, norno any to answer, norand anynobody thatpaid regardedattention. |
| 18:30 |
And Elijah said untoto all the people, Come near untoto me;!; and all the people came near untoto him. AndHe he repaired theYahwehs altar ofthat Jehovahhad thatbeen was thrown down. |
| 18:31 |
And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, untoto whom theYahwehs word of Jehovah came, saying, Israel shall be thyyour name. |
| 18:32 |
AndWith with the stones he built an altar in theYahwehs name. ofHe Jehovah; and he made a trench aboutaround the altar, aslarge greatenough asto would contain two measuresseahs of seed. |
| 18:33 |
AndHe he put the wood in order, and cut the bullockbull in pieces, and laid it on the wood. AndHe he said, Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering, and on the wood. |
| 18:34 |
AndHe he said, Do it thea second time; and they did it the second time. AndHe he said, Do it thea third time; and they did it the third time. |
| 18:35 |
AndThe the water ran roundaround about the altar; and he also filled the trench also with water. |
| 18:36 |
AndAt it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening oblationoffering, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, O JehovahYahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known thistoday day that thouyou artare God in Israel, and that I am thyyour servant, and that I have done all these things at thyyour word. |
| 18:37 |
Hear me, O JehovahYahweh, hear me, that this people may know that thouyou, JehovahYahweh, artare God, and that thouyou hasthave turned their heart back again. |
| 18:38 |
Then theYahwehs fire of Jehovah fell, and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust,; and it licked up the water that was in the trench. |
| 18:39 |
AndWhen when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces:. andThey they said, JehovahYahweh, he is God;! JehovahYahweh, he is God.! |
| 18:40 |
And Elijah said untoto them, TakeSeize the prophets of Baal;! Dont let not one of them escape.! AndThey theyseized took them; and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slewkilled them there. |
| 18:41 |
And Elijah said untoto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain. |
| 18:42 |
So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down uponon the earth, and put his face between his knees. |
| 18:43 |
AndHe he said to his servant, Go up now, and look toward the sea. AndHe he went up, and looked, andthen said, There is nothing. AndHe he said, Go again seven times. |
| 18:44 |
AndOn it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, therea arisethsmall a cloud, outlike ofa themans seahand, asis smallrising asout aof mansthe handsea. AndHe he said, Go up, saytell unto Ahab, MakeGet ready thy chariot, and getgo thee down, so that the rain doesnt stop thee notyou. |
| 18:45 |
AndIn it came to pass in a little while, that the heavenssky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel:. |
| 18:46 |
andYahwehs the hand of Jehovah was on Elijah; and he girdedtucked uphis cloak into his loins, belt and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. |
| 19:1 |
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slainkilled all the prophets with the sword. |
| 19:2 |
Then Jezebel sent a messenger untoto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I dont make notyour thy life as the life of one of them by totomorrow morrow about this time.! |
| 19:3 |
AndWhen when he saw that, he arose, and wentran for his life, and came to Beer shebaBeersheba, which belongethbelongs to Judah, and left his servant there. |
| 19:4 |
But he himself went a days journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree:. andThen he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough;. nowNow, O JehovahYahweh, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. |
| 19:5 |
AndHe he lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said untoto him, Arise and eat.! |
| 19:6 |
AndHe he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake bakenbaked on the coals, and a crusejar of water. AndHe heate did eat and drinkdrank, and laidlay him down again. |
| 19:7 |
AndYahwehs the angel of Jehovah came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for theeyou. |
| 19:8 |
AndHe he arose, and didate eat and drinkdrank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights untoto Horeb, theGods mount of GodMountain. |
| 19:9 |
AndHe he came thitherto unto a cave there, and lodgedcamped there; and, behold, theYahwehs word of Jehovah came to him, and he said untoto him, What doestare thouyou doing here, Elijah? |
| 19:10 |
AndHe he said, I have been very jealous for JehovahYahweh, the God of hostsArmies; for the children of Israel have forsaken thyyour covenant, thrown down thineyour altars, and slainkilled thyyour prophets with the sword:. and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. |
| 19:11 |
AndHe he said, Go forth, out and stand uponon the mountmountain before JehovahYahweh. AndBehold, behold,Yahweh Jehovah passed by, and a great and strong wind renttore the mountains, and brakebroke in pieces the rocks before JehovahYahweh; but JehovahYahweh was not in the wind:. andAfter after the wind there was an earthquake; but JehovahYahweh was not in the earthquake:. |
| 19:12 |

| 19:13 |
AndWhen it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. AndBehold, behold,a therevoice came ato voice unto him, and said, What doestare thouyou doing here, Elijah? |
| 19:14 |
AndHe he said, I have been very jealous for JehovahYahweh, the God of hostsArmies; for the children of Israel have forsaken thyyour covenant, thrown down thineyour altars, and slainkilled thyyour prophets with the sword;. and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. |
| 19:15 |
AndYahweh Jehovah said untoto him, Go, return on thyyour way to the wilderness of Damascus:. andWhen whenyou thou comestarrive, thou shalt anoint Hazael to be king over Syria;. |
| 19:16 |
andAnoint Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel; and anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel meholahMeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thyyour roomplace. |
| 19:17 |
AndHe itwho shallescapes come to pass, that him that escapeth from the sword of Hazael, shall Jehu slaywill kill; and himhe thatwho escapethescapes from the sword of Jehu, shall Elisha slaywill kill. |
| 19:18 |
Yet will I leavereserved me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees of which have not bowed untoto Baal, and every mouth which hathhas not kissed him. |
| 19:19 |
So he departed thence, from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing, with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth:. and Elijah passedwent over untoto him, and castput his mantle uponon him. |
| 19:20 |
AndElisha he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, Iplease pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow theeyou. AndHe he said untoto him, Go back again; for what have I done to theeyou? |

And Ahab spakespoke untoto Naboth, saying, Give me thyyour vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house; and I will give theeyou for it a better vineyard than it:. orOr, if it seemseems good to theeyou, I will give theeyou theits worth of it in money. |
| 21:3 |
And Naboth said to Ahab, JehovahMay Yahweh forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers untoto thee.you! |
| 21:4 |
And Ahab came into his house heavysullen and displeasedangry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him;, for he had said, I will not give theeyou the inheritance of my fathers. AndHe he laid himhimself down uponon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread. |
| 21:5 |
But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said untoto him, Why is thyyour spirit so sad, that thouyou eatesteat no bread? |
| 21:6 |
AndHe he said untoto her, Because I spakespoke untoto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said untoto him, Give me thyyour vineyard for money; or else, if it pleasepleases theeyou, I will give theeyou another vineyard for it:. andHe he answered, I will not give theeyou my vineyard. |
| 21:7 |
And Jezebel his wife said untoto him, DostDo thouyou now govern the kingdom of Israel? ariseArise, and eat bread, and let thyyour heart be merry:. I will give theeyou the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. |
| 21:8 |
So she wrote letters in Ahabs name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters untoto the elders and to the nobles thatwho were in his city, andwho thatlived dwelt with Naboth. |
| 21:9 |
AndShe she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:. |
| 21:10 |
andSet set two men, basewicked fellows, before him, and let them beartestify witness against him, saying, ThouYou didstcursed curse God and the king.! AndThen then carry him out, and stone him to death. |
| 21:11 |
AndThe the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who dweltlived in his city, did as Jezebel had sentinstructed unto them, according as it was written in the letters which she had written and sent untoto them. |
| 21:13 |
AndThe the two men, the basewicked fellows, came in and sat before him:. andThe thewicked base fellows baretestified witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth didcursed curse God and the king.! Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones. |
| 21:14 |
Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth ishas been stoned, and is dead. |
| 21:15 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth washad been stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give theeyou for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead. |
| 21:16 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. |
| 21:17 |
AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, |
| 21:18 |

| 21:19 |
AndYou thoushall shalt speak untoto him, saying, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays, HastHave thouyou killed, and also taken possession? AndYou thoushall shalt speak untoto him, saying, ThusYahweh saith Jehovahsays, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, shall dogs will lick thyyour blood, even thineyours. |
| 21:20 |
And Ahab said to Elijah, HastHave thouyou found me, Omy mine enemy? AndHe he answered, I have found theeyou, because thouyou hasthave sold thyselfyourself to do that which is evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah. |
| 21:21 |
Behold, I will bring evil uponon theeyou, and will utterly sweep theeyou away and will cut off from Ahab everyeveryone manwho childurinates against a wall, and him thatwho is shut up and him thatwho is left at large in Israel:. |
| 21:22 |
and I will make thyyour house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewithwith thouwhich hastyou have provoked me to anger, and hasthave made Israel to sin. |
| 21:23 |
AndYahweh also spoke of Jezebel also spake Jehovah, saying, The dogs shallwill eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel. |
| 21:24 |
HimThe thatdogs diethwill eat he who dies of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and himthe thatbirds diethof in the fieldsky shallwill theeat birdshe ofwho dies in the heavens eatfield. |
| 21:25 |
But there was noneno one like unto Ahab, who didsold sell himself to do that which was evil in theYahwehs sight of Jehovah, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. |
| 21:26 |
AndHe he did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom JehovahYahweh cast out before the children of Israel. |
| 21:27 |
AndWhen it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he renttore his clothes, and put sackcloth uponon his fleshbody, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softlyabout despondently. |
| 21:28 |
AndYahwehs the word of Jehovah came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, |
| 21:29 |
SeestSee thou how Ahab humblethhumbles himself before me? becauseBecause he humblethhumbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but inI his sons day will I bring the evil uponon his house in his sons day. |

| 22:7 |
But Jehoshaphat said, IsIsnt there not here a prophet of Jehovah besidesYahweh, that we may inquire of him? |
| 22:8 |
AndThe the king of Israel said untoto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of JehovahYahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah:; but I hate him;, for he dothdoes not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, LetDont notlet the king say so. |

And Micaiah said, As JehovahYahweh livethlives, what JehovahYahweh saithsays untoto me, that I will I speak. |
| 22:15 |

| 22:23 |
Now therefore, behold, JehovahYahweh hathhas put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thyyour prophets; and JehovahYahweh hathhas spoken evil concerning theeyou. |
| 22:24 |
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smotestruck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way wentdid theYahwehs Spirit ofgo Jehovah from me to speak untoto theeyou? |
| 22:25 |
And Micaiah said, Behold, thouyou shaltwill see on that day, when thouyou shalt go into an inner chamberroom to hide thyselfyourself. |
