| 1:1 |
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother Sosthenes, |
| 1:2 |
untoto the churchassembly of God which is at Corinth,—those evenwho them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all thatwho call uponon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, theirboth Lordtheirs and ours: |
| 1:4 |
I always thank my God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;, |
| 1:5 |
that in everything yeyou were enriched in him, in all utterancespeech and all knowledge;— |
| 1:6 |
even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:— |
| 1:7 |
so that yeyou come behind in no gift;, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;, |
| 1:8 |
who shallwill also confirm you untountil the end, thatblameless ye be unreproveable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 1:9 |
God is faithful, through whom yeyou were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. |
| 1:10 |
Now I beseechbeg you, brethrenbrothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that yeyou all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you;, but that yeyou be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment. |
| 1:11 |
For it hathhas been signifiedreported untoto me concerning you, my brethrenbrothers, by themthose thatwho are offrom theChloes household of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. |
| 1:12 |
Now this I mean this, that each one of you saithsays, I amfollow of Paul;, and I offollow Apollos;, and I offollow Cephas;, and, I offollow Christ. |
| 1:13 |
Is Christ divided? wasWas Paul crucified for you? orOr were yeyou baptized into the name of Paul? |
| 1:14 |
I thank God that I baptized none of you, saveexcept Crispus and Gaius;, |
| 1:15 |
lestso anythat manno one should say that yeI werehad baptized you into my own name. |
| 1:16 |
And I also baptized also the household of Stephanas:; besides them, I dont know not whether I baptized any other. |
| 1:17 |
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel:Good News—not in wisdom of words, lestso that the cross of Christ shouldwouldnt be made void. |
| 1:18 |
For the word of the cross is foolishness to themthose thatwho perishare foolishness;dying, but untoto us who are being saved it is the power of God. |
| 1:19 |
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,. AndI will bring the discernment of the discerning will I bring to noughtnothing. |
| 1:20 |
Where is the wise? whereWhere is the scribe? whereWhere is the disputerdebater of this worldage? hathHasnt not God made foolish the wisdom of thethis world? |
| 1:21 |
For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom knewdidnt notknow God, it was Gods good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save themthose thatwho believe. |
| 1:22 |
SeeingFor that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom:, |
| 1:23 |
but we preach Christ crucified, untoa Jewsstumbling ablock stumblingblock,to Jews and untofoolishness Gentilesto foolishness;Greeks, |
| 1:24 |
but untoto themthose thatwho are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God, and the wisdom of God.; |
| 1:25 |
Becausebecause the foolishness of God is wiser than men;, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. |
| 1:26 |
For beholdyou see your calling, brethrenbrothers, that not many are wise afteraccording to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble, are called:; |
| 1:27 |
but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame themthose thatwho are wise;. and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;. |
| 1:28 |
andGod chose the baselowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that aredont notexist, that he might bring to noughtnothing the things that are:exist, |
| 1:29 |
that no flesh should gloryboast before God. |
| 1:30 |
ButBecause of him, you are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made untoto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:, |
| 1:31 |
that, according as it is written, He thatwho gloriethboasts, let him gloryboast in the Lord. |
| 2:1 |
AndWhen I, brethren, when I came untoto you, camebrothers, notI didnt come with excellencyexcellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. |
| 2:2 |
For I determined not to know anything among you, saveexcept Jesus Christ, and him crucified. |
| 2:3 |
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. |
| 2:4 |
AndMy my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:, |
| 2:5 |
that your faith shouldwouldnt not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. |
| 2:6 |
We speak wisdom, however, among themthose thatwho are fullgrown:full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought:nothing. |
| 2:7 |
butBut we speak Gods wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hathhas been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds untofor our glory:, |
| 2:8 |
which none of the rulers of this world hathhas known:. forFor had they known it, they wouldwouldnt not have crucified the Lord of glory:. |
| 2:9 |
butBut as it is written, Things which an eye sawdidnt notsee, and an ear hearddidnt nothear, And which entereddidnt notenter into the heart of man, Whatsoeverthese things God has prepared for themthose thatwho love him. |
| 2:10 |
But untoto us, God revealed them through the Spirit:. forFor the Spirit searchethsearches all things, yeayes, the deep things of God. |
| 2:11 |
For who among men knowethknows the things of a man, saveexcept the spirit of the man, which is in him? evenEven so, no one knows the things of God noneexcept knoweth,Gods save the Spirit of God. |
| 2:12 |
But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spiritSpirit which is from God;, that we might know the things that were freely given to us ofby God. |
| 2:13 |
WhichWe things also wespeak speakthese things, not in words which mans wisdom teacheth, teaches but which the Holy Spirit teacheth;teaches, combiningcomparing spiritual things with spiritual wordsthings. |
| 2:14 |
Now the natural man receivethdoesnt notreceive the things of theGods Spirit, of God: for they are foolishness untoto him; and he cannotcant know them, because they are spiritually judgeddiscerned. |
| 2:15 |
But he thatwho is spiritual judgethdiscerns all things, and he himself is to be judged ofby no manone. |
| 2:16 |
For who hathhas known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have theChrists mind of Christ. |
| 3:1 |
AndBrothers, I, brethren, couldnt could not speak untoto you as untoto spiritual, but as untoto carnalfleshly, as untoto babesbabies in Christ. |
| 3:2 |
I fed you with milk, not with meat;solid food, for yeyou werewerent not yet ableready. toIndeed, bearyou it:arent nay, ready not even now are ye able;, |
| 3:3 |
for yeyou are yetstill carnal:fleshly. forFor whereasinsofar as there is among you jealousy, and strife, areand yefactions notamong carnalyou, arent you fleshly, and dodont yeyou not walk afterin the mannerways of men? |
| 3:4 |
For when one saithsays, I amfollow of Paul;, and another, I amfollow of Apollos;, arearent yeyou not menfleshly? |
| 3:5 |
WhatWho then is Apollos?, and whatwho is Paul?, Ministersbut servants through whom yeyou believed;, and each as the Lord gave to him.? |
| 3:6 |
I planted,. Apollos watered;. butBut God gave the increase. |
| 3:7 |
So then neither is he thatwho plantethplants is anything, neithernor he thatwho watereth;waters, but God thatwho givethgives the increase. |
| 3:8 |
Now he thatwho plantethplants and he thatwho waterethwaters are one:the same, but each shallwill receive his own reward according to his own labor. |
| 3:9 |
For we are Gods fellow workers:. yeYou are Gods husbandryfarming, Gods building. |
| 3:10 |
According to the grace of God which was given untoto me, as a wise masterbuildermaster builder I laid a foundation;, and another buildethbuilds thereonon it. But let each man takebe heedcareful how he buildethbuilds thereonon it. |
| 3:11 |
For otherno foundationone can nolay manany layother foundation than that which ishas been laid, which is Jesus Christ. |
| 3:12 |
But if anyanyone manbuilds buildeth on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble;or straw, |
| 3:13 |
each mans work shallwill be maderevealed. manifest:For for the dayDay shallwill declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shallwill provetest eachwhat manssort of work ofeach whatmans sortwork it is. |
| 3:14 |
If any mans work shallremains abide which he built thereonon it, he shallwill receive a reward. |
| 3:15 |
If any mans work shallis be burned, he shallwill suffer loss:, but he himself shallwill be saved;, yetbut so as through fire. |
| 3:16 |
KnowDont yeyou notknow that yeyou are aGods temple of God, and that theGods Spirit oflives God dwelleth in you? |
| 3:17 |
If anyanyone mandestroys destroyethGods the temple, of God, himwill shalldestroy God destroyhim; for theGods temple of God is holy, andwhich suchyou are ye. |
| 3:18 |
Let no manone deceive himself. If anyanyone manthinks thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. |
| 3:19 |
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He thathas takethtaken the wise in their craftiness:. |
| 3:20 |
andAnd again, The Lord knowethknows the reasoningsreasoning of the wise, that theyit areis vainworthless. |
| 3:21 |
WhereforeTherefore let no one gloryboast in men. For all things are yours;, |
| 3:22 |
whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come;. allAll are yours;, |
| 3:23 |
and yeyou are Christs;, and Christ is Gods. |
| 4:1 |
LetSo let a man sothink account of us, as ofChrists ministersservants of Christ, and stewards of theGods mysteries of God. |
| 4:2 |
Here, moreover, it is required inof stewards, that athey man be found faithful. |
| 4:3 |
But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged ofby you, or ofby mansa judgment:human yeacourt. Yes, I dont even judge notmy mine own self. |
| 4:4 |
For I know nothing against myself;. yetYet I am I not hereby justified: by this, but he thatwho judgethjudges me is the Lord. |
| 4:5 |
WhereforeTherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comecomes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and makereveal manifest the counsels of the hearts;. andThen then shall each man havewill get his praise from God. |
| 4:6 |
Now these things, brethrenbrothers, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes;, that in us yeyou might learn not to gothink beyond the things which are written;, that nonone one of you be puffed up foragainst the one against the otheranother. |
| 4:7 |
For who makethmakes theeyou to differdifferent? andAnd what hastdo thouyou have that thouyou didstdidnt not receive? butBut if thouyou didstdid receive it, why dostdo thouyou gloryboast as if thouyou hadsthad not received it? |
| 4:8 |
AlreadyYou are yealready filled,. alreadyYou yehave arealready become rich,. yeYou have come to reign without us:. yeaYes, and I wouldwish that yeyou did reign, that we also might reign with you.! |
| 4:9 |
For, I think, that God hathhas setdisplayed forth us, the apostles, last of all, aslike men doomedsentenced to death:. forFor we are made a spectacle untoto the world, both to angels and men. |
| 4:10 |
We are fools for Christs sake, but yeyou are wise in Christ;. weWe are weak, but yeyou are strong;. yeYou have gloryhonor, but we have dishonor. |
| 4:11 |
Even untoto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffetedbeaten, and have no certain dwelling place;. |
| 4:12 |
andWe we toil, working with our own hands:. beingWhen reviledpeople curse us, we bless;. beingBeing persecuted, we endure;. |
| 4:13 |
beingBeing defamed, we entreat:. weWe are made as the filth of the world, the offscouringdirt ofwiped off by all things, even until now. |
| 4:14 |
I dont write not these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. |
| 4:15 |
For though yeyou have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yetyou dont have ye not many fathers;. forFor in Christ Jesus, I begatbecame youyour father through the gospelGood News. |
| 4:16 |
I beseechbeg you therefore, be ye imitators of me. |
| 4:17 |
ForBecause of this causeI have I sent untoTimothy to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shallwill putremind you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every churchassembly. |
| 4:19 |
But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will;is andwilling. And I will know, not the word of themthose thatwho are puffed up, but the power. |
| 4:20 |
For theGods kingdomKingdom of God is not in word, but in power. |
| 4:21 |
What willdo yeyou want? shallShall I come untoto you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness? |
| 5:1 |
It is actually reported that there is fornicationsexual immorality among you, and such fornicationsexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that one ofhas you hath his fathers wife. |
| 5:2 |
AndYou ye are puffed uparrogant, and diddidnt notmourn rather mourninstead, that he thatwho had done this deed might be takenremoved away from among you. |
| 5:3 |
For I verilymost certainly, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already, as though I were present, judged him thatwho hathhas sodone wrought this thing,. |
| 5:4 |
inIn the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, yewhen beingyou are gathered together, andwith my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, |
| 5:5 |
you are to deliver such a one untoto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. |
| 5:6 |
Your gloryingboasting is not good. KnowDont yeyou notknow that a little leavenyeast leavenethleavens the whole lump? |
| 5:7 |
Purge out the old leavenyeast, that yeyou may be a new lump, even as yeyou are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our passoverPassover, alsohas hath been sacrificed, evenin Christ:our place. |
| 5:8 |
whereforeTherefore letlets us keep the feast, not with old leavenyeast, neither with the leavenyeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. |
| 5:9 |
I wrote untoto you in my epistleletter to have no company with fornicatorssexual sinners; |
| 5:10 |
yet not at all meaning with the fornicatorssexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortionersextortionists, or with idolaters;, for then mustyou yewould needshave goto outleave of the world:. |
| 5:11 |
butBut as it is, I wrote untoto you not to keepassociate company, with ifanyone anywho man that is namedcalled a brother bewho is a fornicatorsexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a revilerslanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner;extortionist. Dont even eat with such a one no, not to eatperson. |
| 5:12 |
For what havedo I have to do with also judging themthose thatwho are withoutoutside? DoDont notyou ye judge themthose thatwho are within? |
| 5:13 |
But themthose thatwho are withoutoutside, God judgethjudges. Put away the wicked man from among yourselves. |
| 6:2 |
OrDont you know ye not that the saints shallwill judge the world? andAnd if the world is judged by you, are yeyou unworthy to judge the smallest matters? |
| 6:3 |
KnowDont yeyou notknow that we shallwill judge angels? howHow much more, things that pertain to this life? |
| 6:4 |
If then yeyou have to judge things pertaining to this life, do yeyou set them to judge who are of no account in the churchassembly? |
| 6:5 |
I say this to move you to shame. What,Isnt cannot there beeven found among you one wise man among you who shallwould be able to decide between his brethren, brothers? |
| 6:6 |
butBut brother goethgoes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?! |
| 6:7 |
Nay,Therefore already it is already altogether a defect in you, that yeyou have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather takebe wrongwronged? whyWhy not rather be defrauded? |
| 6:8 |
NayNo, but yeyou yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and that against your brethrenbrothers. |
| 6:9 |
Or knowdont yeyou notknow that the unrighteous shallwill not inherit theGods kingdom of GodKingdom? BeDont notbe deceived:. neitherNeither fornicatorsthe sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminatemale prostitutes, nor abusers of themselves with menhomosexuals, |
| 6:10 |
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilersslanderers, nor extortionersextortionists, shallwill inherit theGods kingdom of GodKingdom. |
| 6:11 |
AndSome suchof you were somesuch, ofbut you: but ye were washed,. butYou ye were sanctified,. butYou ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God. |
| 6:12 |
All things are lawful for me;, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me;, but I will not be brought under the power of anyanything. |
| 6:13 |
MeatsFoods for the belly, and the belly for meats:foods, but God shallwill bring to noughtnothing both it and them. But the body is not for fornicationsexual immorality, but for the Lord;, and the Lord for the body:. |
| 6:14 |
andNow God both raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up usby through his power. |
| 6:15 |
KnowDont yeyou notknow that your bodies are members of Christ? shallShall I then take away the members of Christ, and make them members of a harlotprostitute? GodMay forbid.it never be! |
| 6:16 |
Or knowdont yeyou notknow that he thatwho is joined to a harlotprostitute is one body? forFor, The twaintwo, saithhe hesays, shallwill become one flesh. |
| 6:17 |
But he thatwho is joined untoto the Lord is one spirit. |
| 6:18 |
Flee fornication.sexual immorality! Every sin that a man doethdoes is withoutoutside the body;, but he thatwho committethcommits fornicationsexual sinnethimmorality sins against his own body. |
| 6:19 |
Or knowdont yeyou notknow that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit whichwho is in you, whichwhom yeyou have from God? andYou ye are not your own;, |
| 6:20 |
for yeyou were bought with a price:. Therefore glorify God thereforein your body and in your bodyspirit, which are Gods. |
| 7:1 |
Now concerning the things whereofabout yewhich you wrote to me: Itit is good for a man not to touch a woman. |
| 7:2 |
But, because of fornicationssexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. |
| 7:3 |
Let the husband rendergive untohis wife the wifeaffection owed her, due: and likewise also the wife untoher the husband. |
| 7:4 |
The wife hathdoesnt nothave powerauthority over her own body, but the husband: anddoes. likewiseLikewise also the husband hathdoesnt nothave powerauthority over his own body, but the wife does. |
| 7:5 |
DefraudDont yedeprive not one the otheranother, exceptunless it beis by consent for a season, that yeyou may give yourselves untoto fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesnt tempt you not because of your incontinencylack of self control. |
| 7:7 |
Yet I wouldwish that all men were evenlike as I myselfme. HowbeitHowever, each man hathhas his own gift from God, one afterof this mannerkind, and another afterof that kind. |
| 7:8 |
But I say to the unmarried and to widows, Itit is good for them if they abideremain even as I am. |
| 7:9 |
But if they dont have notself continencycontrol, let them marry:. forFor itits is better to marry than to burn with passion. |
| 7:10 |
But untoto the married I give charge, yea command—not I, but the Lord,—that That the wife depart not fromleave her husband |
| 7:11 |
but shouldif she departdeparts, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband;, and that the husband not leave not his wife. |
| 7:12 |
But to the rest say I, —not the Lord:—say, Ifif any brother hathhas an unbelieving wife, and she is content to dwelllive with him, let him not leave her. |
| 7:13 |
AndThe the woman thatwho hathhas an unbelieving husband, and he is content to dwelllive with her, let her not leave her husband. |
| 7:14 |
For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother:husband. elseOtherwise were your children would be unclean;, but now they are they holy. |
| 7:15 |
Yet if the unbelievingunbeliever departethdeparts, let himthere depart:be theseparation. The brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases:, but God hathhas called us in peace. |
| 7:16 |
For how knowestdo thouyou know, O wife, whether thouyou shaltwill save thyyour husband? orOr how knowestdo thouyou know, O husband, whether thouyou shaltwill save thyyour wife? |
| 7:17 |
Only, as the Lord hathhas distributed to each man, as God hathhas called each, so let him walk. AndSo soI ordaincommand I in all the churchesassemblies. |
| 7:18 |
Was anyanyone man called beinghaving been circumcised? letLet him not become uncircumcised. HathHas anyanyone been called in uncircumcision? letLet him not be circumcised. |
| 7:19 |
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing;, but thewhat matters is keeping ofGods the commandments of God. |
| 7:20 |
Let each man abidestay in that calling whereinin which he was called. |
| 7:21 |
WastWere thouyou called being a bondservant? careDont notlet forthat it:bother nayyou, evenbut if thouyou canstget an opportunity to become free, use it rather. |
| 7:22 |
For he thatwho was called in the Lord being a bondservant, is the Lords freedman:free likewiseman. Likewise he thatwho was called being free, is Christs bondservant. |
| 7:23 |
YeYou were bought with a price;. Dont become not bondservants of men. |
| 7:24 |
BrethrenBrothers, let each man, whereinin whatever condition he was called, thereinstay abidein that condition with God. |
| 7:25 |
Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment offrom the Lord:, but I give my judgment, as one thatwho hathhas obtained mercy offrom the Lord to be trustworthy. |
| 7:26 |
Therefore I think therefore that thisbecause is good by reason of the distress that is uponon us, namely, its that it is good for a man to beremain as he is. |
| 7:27 |
ArtAre thouyou bound untoto a wife? Dont seek not to be loosedfreed. ArtAre thouyou loosedfree from a wife? Dont seek not a wife. |
| 7:28 |
But shouldestif thouyou marry, thouyou hasthave not sinned;. andIf if a virgin marrymarries, she hathhas not sinned. Yet such shallwill have tribulationoppression in the flesh:, and I wouldwant to spare you. |
| 7:29 |
But this I say, brethrenthis, brothers: the time is shortened, short. thatFrom henceforthnow on, both those thatwho have wives may be as though they had none; |
| 7:30 |
and those thatwho weep, as though they weptdidnt notweep; and those thatwho rejoice, as though they rejoiceddidnt notrejoice; and those thatwho buy, as though they possesseddidnt notpossess; |
| 7:31 |
and those thatwho use the world, as not using it to the full:fullest. forFor the fashionmode of this world passethpasses away. |
| 7:32 |
But I woulddesire to have you to be free from cares. He thatwho is unmarried is carefulconcerned for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord:; |
| 7:33 |
but he thatwho is married is carefulconcerned forabout the things of the world, how he may please his wife,. |
| 7:34 |
andThere is divided. So also thea womandifference thatbetween isa unmarriedwife and thea virgin. isThe carefulunmarried forwoman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit:. butBut she thatwho is married iscares carefulabout for the things of the world, —how she may please her husband. |
| 7:35 |
AndThis this I say for your own profit;benefit, not that I may castensnare a snare upon you, but for that which is seemlyappropriate, and that yeyou may attend uponto the Lord without distraction. |
| 7:36 |
But if any man thinkeththinks that he behavethis himselfbehaving unseemlyinappropriately toward his virgin daughter, if she beis past the flower of her age, and if need so requirethrequires, let him do what he will;desires. heHe sinnethdoesnt not;sin. letLet them marry. |
| 7:37 |
But he thatwho standethstands stedfaststeadfast in his heart, having no necessityurgency, but hathhas power asover touching his own will, and hathhas determined this in his own heart, to keep his own virgin daughter, shalldoes do well. |
| 7:38 |
So then both he thatwho givethgives his own virgin daughter in marriage doethdoes well;, and he thatwho givethdoesnt give her not in marriage shalldoes do better. |
| 7:39 |
A wife is bound by law for soas long time as her husband livethlives; but if the husband beis dead, she is free to be married to whomwhomever she will;desires, only in the Lord. |
| 7:40 |
But she is happier if she abidestays as she is, afterin my judgment:, and I think that I also have theGods Spirit of God. |
| 8:1 |
Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffethpuffs up, but love edifiethbuilds up. |
| 8:2 |
IfBut anyif mananyone thinkeththinks that he knowethknows anything, he knowethdoesnt not yet know as he ought to know;. |
| 8:3 |
butBut ifanyone anywho manloves loveth God, the same is known by him. |
| 8:4 |
ConcerningTherefore thereforeconcerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one. |
| 8:5 |
For though there beare things that are called gods, whether in heaventhe heavens or on earth; —as there are many gods and many, and Lords many;— |
| 8:6 |
yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we untofor him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him. |
| 8:7 |
HowbeitHowever, therethat isknowledge notisnt in all men. thatBut knowledge: but some, beingwith usedconsciousness untilof nowan toidol theuntil idolnow, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol;, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. |
| 8:8 |
But food will not commend us to God:. For neither, if we dont eat not, are we the worse;, nor, if we eat, are we the better. |
| 8:9 |
But takebe heedcareful lestthat by anyno means does this liberty of yours become a stumblingblockstumbling block to the weak. |
| 8:10 |
For if a man seesees theeyou who hasthave knowledge sitting at meat in an idols temple, willwont not his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols? |
| 8:11 |
ForAnd through thyyour knowledge, he thatwho is weak perishethperishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died. |
| 8:12 |
And thusThus, sinning against the brethrenbrothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, yeyou sin against Christ. |
| 8:13 |
WhereforeTherefore, if meatfood causethcauses my brother to stumble, I will eat no fleshmeat forforever evermoremore, that I dont cause not my brother to stumble. |
| 9:1 |
Am I not free? amAm I not an apostle? haveHavent I not seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? areArent notyou ye my work in the Lord? |
| 9:2 |
If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of minemy apostleship are ye in the Lord. |
| 9:3 |
My defencedefense to themthose thatwho examine me is this.: |
| 9:5 |
Have we no right to leadtake aboutalong a wife thatwho is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethrenbrothers of the Lord, and Cephas? |
| 9:6 |
Or Ihave only and Barnabas, haveand weI notno a right to forbearnot workingwork? |
| 9:7 |
What soldier ever servethserves at his own chargesexpense? whoWho plantethplants a vineyard, and eatethdoesnt noteat theof its fruit thereof? orOr who feedethfeeds a flock, and eatethdoesnt notdrink offrom the flocks milk of the flock? |
| 9:8 |
Do I speak these things afteraccording to the mannerways of men? orOr saithdoesnt not the law also say the same thing? |
| 9:9 |
For it is written in the law of Moses, ThouYou shaltshall not muzzle thean ox whenwhile heit treadethtreads out the corngrain. Is it for the oxen that God carethcares, |
| 9:10 |
or saithdoes he say it assuredly for our sake? YeaYes, it was written for our sake, it was written: because he thatwho plowethplows ought to plow in hope, and he thatwho thresheth, threshes to thresh in hope should partake of partakinghis hope. |
| 9:11 |
If we sowed untoto you spiritual things, is it a great matterthing if we shall reap your carnalfleshly things? |
| 9:12 |
If others partake of this right over you, dodont not we yet more? Nevertheless we diddidnt not use this right;, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the gospelGood News of Christ. |
| 9:13 |
KnowDont yeyou notknow that theythose thatwho ministerserve aboutaround sacred things eat offrom the things of the temple, and theythose thatwho wait uponon the altar have their portion with the altar? |
| 9:14 |
Even so did the Lord ordainordained that theythose thatwho proclaim the gospelGood News should live offrom the gospelGood News. |
| 9:15 |
But I have used none of these things:, and I dont write not these things that it may be done so done in my case; for itI werewould good for me rather to die, than that anyanyone man should make my gloryingboasting void. |
| 9:16 |
For if I preach the gospelGood News, I have nothing to gloryboast of;about, for necessity is laid uponon me; forbut woe is untoto me, if I dont preach not the gospelGood News. |
| 9:17 |
For if I do this of minemy own will, I have a reward:. butBut if not of minemy own will, I have a stewardship intrustedentrusted to me. |
| 9:18 |
What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospelGood News, I may makepresent the gospelGood News of Christ without charge, so as not to useabuse to the full my rightauthority in the gospelGood News. |
| 9:19 |
For though I was free from all men, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more. |
| 9:20 |
AndTo to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to themthose thatwho are under the law, as under the law, not being myself under the law, that I might gain themthose thatwho are under the law; |
| 9:21 |
to themthose thatwho are without law, as without law, not being without law totoward God, but under law totoward Christ, that I might gainwin themthose thatwho are without law. |
| 9:22 |
To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak:. I amhave become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. |
| 9:23 |
AndNow I do allthis things for the gospelssake sakeof the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker thereofof it. |
| 9:24 |
KnowDont yeyou notknow that theythose thatwho run in a race all run all, but one receivethreceives the prize? EvenRun like that, so run; that yeyou may attainwin. |
| 9:25 |
AndEvery every man thatwho strivethstrives in the games exercisethexercises self control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown;, but we an incorruptible. |
| 9:26 |
I therefore sorun runlike that, as not uncertainly;aimlessly. soI fight Ilike that, as not beating the air:, |
| 9:27 |
but I buffetbeat my body, and bring it into bondage:submission, lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejecteddisqualified. |
| 10:1 |
ForNow I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; |
| 10:2 |
and were all baptized untointo Moses in the cloud and in the sea; |
| 10:3 |
and did all eatate the same spiritual food; |
| 10:4 |
and did all drinkdrank the same spiritual drink:. forFor they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them:, and the rock was Christ. |
| 10:5 |
HowbeitHowever with most of them, God was not well pleased:, for they were overthrown in the wilderness. |
| 10:6 |
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. |
| 10:7 |
NeitherDont be ye idolaters, as were some of them; aswere. As it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. |
| 10:8 |
NeitherLets letnot us commit fornicationsexual immorality, as some of them committed, and fell in one day twenty three andthousand twenty thousandfell. |
| 10:9 |
NeitherLets letnot ustest make trial of the LordChrist, as some of them made trialtested, and perished by the serpents. |
| 10:10 |
NeitherDont murmur yegrumble, as some of them murmuredalso grumbled, and perished by the destroyer. |
| 10:11 |
Now all these things happened untoto them by way of example;, and they were written for our admonition, uponon whom the ends of the ages arehave come. |
| 10:12 |
WhereforeTherefore let him thatwho thinkeththinks he standethstands takebe heedcareful lestthat he doesnt fall. |
| 10:13 |
ThereNo hathtemptation nohas temptation taken you butexcept suchwhat asis mancommon canto bear:man. but God is faithful, who will not sufferallow you to be tempted above thatwhat yeyou are able;, but will with the temptation also make also the way of escape, that yeyou may be able to endure it. |
| 10:14 |
WhereforeTherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. |
| 10:15 |
I speak as to wise men;. judgeJudge ye what I say. |
| 10:16 |
The cup of blessing which we bless, isisnt it not a communionsharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isisnt it not a communionsharing of the body of Christ? |
| 10:17 |
seeingBecause thatthere is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one bread, one body:; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread. |
| 10:18 |
BeholdConsider Israel afteraccording to the flesh:. haveDont notthose theywho that eat the sacrifices communionparticipate within the altar? |
| 10:19 |
What sayam I saying then? thatThat a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? |
| 10:20 |
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God:, and I woulddont notdesire that yeyou shouldwould have communionfellowship with demons. |
| 10:21 |
YeYou cannotcant both drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons:. yeYou cannotcant both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons. |
| 10:22 |
Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? areAre we stronger than he? |
| 10:23 |
All things are lawful; for me, but not all things are expedientprofitable. All things are lawful; for me, but not all things edifybuild up. |
| 10:24 |
Let no manone seek his own, but each one his neighbors good. |
| 10:25 |
WhatsoeverWhatever is sold in the shamblesbutcher shop, eat, asking no question for consciencethe sake; of conscience, |
| 10:26 |
for the earth is the Lords, and theits fulness thereoffullness. |
| 10:27 |
IfBut if one of themthose thatwho dont believe notinvites biddeth you to a feastmeal, and yeyou are disposedinclined to go;, whatsoevereat whatever is set before you, eat, asking no questionquestions for consciencethe sake of conscience. |
| 10:28 |
But if anyanyone mansays sayto unto you, This hathwas been offered into sacrificeidols, dont eat not,it for histhe sake thatof showedthe itone who told you, and for the sake of conscience. sake:For the earth is the Lords, with all its fullness. |
| 10:29 |
conscienceConscience, I say, not thineyour own, but the others; forconscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience? |
| 10:30 |
If I partake with thankfulness, why am I evildenounced spoken of for thatsomething for which I give thanks for? |
| 10:31 |
Whether therefore yeyou eat, or drink, or whatsoeverwhatever yeyou do, do all to the glory of God. |
| 10:32 |
Give no occasion offor stumbling, eitherwhether to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the churchassembly of God:; |
| 10:33 |
even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking minemy own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved. |
| 11:1 |
Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ. |
| 11:2 |
Now I praise you, brothers, that yeyou remember me in all things, and hold fastfirm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you. |
| 11:3 |
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ;, and the head of the woman is the man;, and the head of Christ is God. |
| 11:4 |
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonorethdishonors his head. |
| 11:5 |
But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveileduncovered dishonorethdishonors her head;. forFor it is one and the same thing as if she were shavenshaved. |
| 11:6 |
For if a woman is not veiledcovered, let her hair also be shorn:cut butoff. But if it is ashameful shamefor to a woman to behave shornher hair cut off or shavenbe shaved, let her be veiledcovered. |
| 11:7 |
For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiledcovered, forasmuchbecause as he is the image and glory of God:, but the woman is the glory of the man. |
| 11:8 |
For the man is not offrom the woman;, but the woman offrom the man:; |
| 11:9 |
for neitherman waswasnt the man created for the woman;, but the woman for the man:. |
| 11:10 |
forFor this cause ought the woman ought to have a sign of authority onover her own head, because of the angels. |
| 11:11 |
Nevertheless, neither is the woman withoutindependent of the man, nor the man withoutindependent of the woman, in the Lord. |
| 11:12 |
For as the woman iscame offrom the man, so isa the man also bycomes thethrough a woman; but all things are offrom God. |
| 11:13 |
Judge yefor in yourselves:. isIs it seemlyappropriate that a woman pray untoto God unveiled? |
| 11:14 |
DothDoesnt not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man havehas long hair, it is a dishonor to him? |
| 11:15 |
But if a woman havehas long hair, it is a glory to her:, for her hair is given to her for a covering. |
| 11:16 |
But if any man seemethseems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither thedo churchesGods of Godassemblies. |
| 11:17 |
But in giving you this charge, command I dont praise you not, thatbecause yeyou come together not for the better but for the worse. |
| 11:18 |
For first of all, when yeyou come together in the churchassembly, I hear that divisions exist among you;, and I partly believe it. |
| 11:19 |
For there also must be also factions among you, that theythose thatwho are approved may be maderevealed manifest among you. |
| 11:20 |
When therefore yeyou assemble yourselves together, it is not possiblethe toLords eatsupper thethat Lordsyou supper:eat. |
| 11:21 |
forFor in your eating each one takethtakes before other his own supper; andfirst. oneOne is hungry, and another is drunken. |
| 11:22 |
What, havedont yeyou nothave houses to eat and to drink in? orOr despisedo yeyou thedespise churchGods ofassembly God, and put them to shame thatwho dont have notenough? What shall I saytell to you? shallShall I praise you? In this I dont praise you not. |
| 11:23 |
For I received offrom the Lord that which also I delivered untoto you, that the Lord Jesus inon the night in which he was betrayed took bread;. |
| 11:24 |
andWhen when he had given thanks, he brakebroke it, and said, Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you:. Do this do in remembrancememory of me. |
| 11:25 |
In likethe mannersame way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood:. Do this do, as often as yeyou drink it, in remembrancememory of me. |
| 11:26 |
For as often as yeyou eat this bread, and drink thethis cup, yeyou proclaim the Lords death tilluntil he comecomes. |
| 11:27 |
WhereforeTherefore whosoeverwhoever shalleats eatthis the bread or drinkdrinks the Lords cup ofin thea Lordway inunworthy anof unworthythe manner,Lord shallwill be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. |
| 11:28 |
But let a man proveexamine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. |
| 11:29 |
For he thatwho eatetheats and drinketh, drinks eatethin an unworthy way eats and drinkethdrinks judgment untoto himself, if he doesnt discern not the Lords body. |
| 11:31 |
ButFor if we discerned ourselves, we shouldwouldnt not be judged. |
| 11:32 |
But when we are judged, we are chasteneddisciplined ofby the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. |
| 11:33 |
WhereforeTherefore, my brethrenbrothers, when yeyou come together to eat, wait for one for another. |
| 11:34 |
IfBut anyif mananyone is hungry, let him eat at home;, thatlest your coming together be notfor unto judgment. AndThe the rest I will I set in order whensoeverwhenever I come. |
| 12:1 |
Now concerning spiritual giftsthings, brethrenbrothers, I woulddont notwant have you to be ignorant. |
| 12:2 |
YeYou know that when yeyou were Gentilesheathen, yeyou were led away untoto those dumbmute idols, howsoeverhowever yeyou might be led. |
| 12:3 |
WhereforeTherefore I make known untoto you, that no man speaking inby theGods Spirit of God saithsays, Jesus is anathema;accursed. andNo noone man can say, Jesus is Lord, but inby the Holy Spirit. |
| 12:4 |
Now there are diversitiesvarious kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. |
| 12:5 |
AndThere there are diversitiesvarious kinds of ministrationsservice, and the same Lord. |
| 12:6 |
AndThere there are diversitiesvarious kinds of workings, but the same God, who workethworks all things in all. |
| 12:7 |
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit tofor the profit withalof all. |
| 12:8 |
For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom;, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:, |
| 12:9 |
to another faith, inby the same Spirit;, and to another gifts of healings, inby the onesame Spirit;, |
| 12:10 |
and to another workings of miracles;, and to another prophecy;, and to another discerningsdiscerning of spirits:, to another diversdifferent kinds of tongues;languages, and to another the interpretation of tongues:languages. |
| 12:11 |
butBut all these worketh the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, dividingdistributing to each one severallyseparately even as he willdesires. |
| 12:12 |
For as the body is one, and hathhas many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. |
| 12:13 |
For in one Spirit we were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all madegiven to drink ofinto one Spirit. |
| 12:15 |
If the foot shallwould say, Because IIm am not the hand, IIm am not part of the body;, it is not therefore not part of the body. |
| 12:16 |
AndIf if the ear shallwould say, Because IIm am not the eye, IIm am not part of the body;, itits is not therefore not part of the body. |
| 12:17 |
If the whole body were an eye, where werewould the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where werewould the smelling be? |
| 12:18 |
But now hath God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, evenjust as ithe pleased himdesired. |
| 12:19 |
AndIf if they were all one member, where werewould the body be? |
| 12:21 |
AndThe the eye cannotcant saytell to the hand, I have no need offor thee:you, or again the head to the feet, I have no need offor you. |
| 12:22 |
NayNo, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be moreweaker feeble are necessary:. |
| 12:23 |
andThose those parts of the body, which we think to be less honorable, uponon thesethose we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomelyunpresentable parts have more abundant comeliness;modesty, |
| 12:24 |
whereaswhile our comelypresentable parts have no such need:. butBut God temperedcomposed the body together, giving more abundant honor to thatthe inferior part which lacked;, |
| 12:25 |
that there should be no schismdivision in the body;, but that the members should have the same care for one for another. |
| 12:26 |
AndWhen whether one member sufferethsuffers, all the members suffer with it;. orWhen one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. |
| 12:27 |
Now yeyou are the body of Christ, and severally members thereofindividually. |
| 12:28 |
And God hathhas set some in the church, assembly: first apostles, secondlysecond prophets, thirdlythird teachers, then miraclesmiracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversand various kinds of tongueslanguages. |
| 12:29 |
Are all apostles? areAre all prophets? areAre all teachers? areAre all miracle workers of miracles? |
| 12:30 |
haveDo all have gifts of healings? doDo all speak with tonguesvarious languages? doDo all interpret? |
| 12:31 |
But earnestly desire earnestly the greaterbest gifts. AndMoreover, moreoverI show a most excellent way showto I unto you. |
| 13:1 |
If I speak with the tongueslanguages of men and of angels, but dont have not love, I amhave become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. |
| 13:2 |
AndIf if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge;, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but dont have not love, I am nothing. |
| 13:3 |
AndIf if I bestowgive away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but dont have not love, it profitethprofits me nothing. |
| 13:4 |
Love sufferethis long, patient and is kind;. loveLove enviethdoesnt not;envy. loveLove vauntethdoesnt not itselfbrag, is not puffed upproud, |
| 13:5 |
dothdoesnt not behave itself unseemlyinappropriately, seekethdoesnt notseek its own way, is not provoked, takethtakes notno account of evil; |
| 13:6 |
rejoicethdoesnt notrejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoicethrejoices with the truth; |
| 13:7 |
bearethbears all things, believethbelieves all things, hopethhopes all things, endurethand endures all things. |
| 13:8 |
Love never faileth:fails. butBut whetherwhere there beare prophecies, they shallwill be done away; whetherwith. Where there beare tonguesvarious languages, they shallwill cease;. whetherWhere there beis knowledge, it shallwill be done away with. |
| 13:9 |
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; |
| 13:10 |
but when that which is perfectcomplete ishas come, then that which is inpartial partwill shall be done away with. |
| 13:11 |
When I was a child, I spakespoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child:. nowNow that I amhave become a man, I have put away childish things. |
| 13:12 |
For now we see in a mirror, darkly;dimly, but then face to face:. nowNow I know in part;, but then shall I will know fully, even as also I was also fully known. |
| 13:13 |
But now abideth faith, hope, and love, remain—these three;. andThe the greatest of these is love. |
| 14:1 |
Follow after love; yetand earnestly desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but ratherespecially that yeyou may prophesy. |
| 14:2 |
For he thatwho speakethspeaks in aanother tonguelanguage speakethspeaks not untoto men, but untoto God;, for no manone understandeth;understands, but in the spiritSpirit he speakethspeaks mysteries. |
| 14:3 |
But he thatwho prophesiethprophesies speakethspeaks untoto men for their edification, and exhortation, and consolation. |
| 14:4 |
He thatwho speakethspeaks in aanother tonguelanguage edifiethedifies himself;, but he thatwho prophesiethprophesies edifiethedifies the churchassembly. |
| 14:5 |
Now I woulddesire to have you all speak with tonguesother languages, but rathereven more that yeyou shouldwould prophesy:. andFor greaterhe is hegreater thatwho prophesiethprophesies than he thatwho speakethspeaks with tonguesother languages, exceptunless he interpretinterprets, that the churchassembly may receivebe edifyingbuilt up. |
| 14:6 |
But now, brethrenbrothers, if I come untoto you speaking with tonguesother languages, what shallwould I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching? |
| 14:7 |
Even lifeless things withoutthat life, make giving a voicesound, whether pipe or harp, if they didnt give not a distinction in the sounds, how shallwould it be known what is piped or harped? |
| 14:8 |
For if the trumpet givegave an uncertain voicesound, who shallwould prepare himself for war? |
| 14:9 |
So also yeyou, unless yeyou utteruttered by the tongue speechwords easy to be understoodunderstand, how shallwould it be known what is spoken? forFor yeyou willwould be speaking into the air. |
| 14:10 |
There are, it may be, so many kinds of voiceslanguages in the world, and nonone kindof them is without significationmeaning. |
| 14:11 |
If then I dont know not the meaning of the voicelanguage, I shallwould be to him thatwho speakethspeaks a barbarianforeigner, and he thatwho speakethspeaks willwould be a barbarianforeigner untoto me. |
| 14:12 |
So also yeyou, since yeyou are zealous offor spiritual gifts, seek that yeyou may abound untoto the edifyingbuilding up of the churchassembly. |
| 14:13 |
WhereforeTherefore let him thatwho speakethspeaks in aanother tonguelanguage pray that he may interpret. |
| 14:14 |
For if I pray in aanother tonguelanguage, my spirit prayethprays, but my understanding is unfruitful. |
| 14:15 |
What isshould itI thendo? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also:. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. |
| 14:16 |
ElseOtherwise, if thouyou bless with the spirit, how shallwill he thatwho fillethfills the place of the unlearned say the Amen at thyyour giving of thanks, seeing he knowethdoesnt notknow what thouyou sayestsay? |
| 14:17 |
For thouyou verilymost givestcertainly give thanks well, but the other person is not edifiedbuilt up. |
| 14:18 |
I thank my God, I speak with tonguesother languages more than you all:. |
| 14:19 |
howbeitHowever, in the churchassembly I hadwould rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in aanother tonguelanguage. |
| 14:20 |
BrethrenBrothers, dont be not children in mind:thoughts, yet in malice be ye babesbabies, but in mindthoughts be menmature. |
| 14:21 |
In the law it is written, By men of strange tongueslanguages and by the lips of strangers I will I speak untoto this people;. andThey notwont even thuslisten willto theyme hearthat meway, saithsays the Lord. |
| 14:22 |
WhereforeTherefore tonguesother languages are for a sign, not to themthose thatwho believe, but to the unbelieving:; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to themthose thatwho believe. |
| 14:23 |
If therefore the whole churchassembly beis assembled together and all speak with tonguesother languages, and thereunlearned comeor inunbelieving menpeople unlearnedcome or unbelievingin, willwont they not say that yeyou are madcrazy? |
| 14:24 |
But if all prophesy, and theresomeone come in one unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all;. |
| 14:25 |
And thus the secrets of his heart are maderevealed. manifest; So and so he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed. |
| 14:26 |
What is it then, brethrenbrothers? When yeyou come together, each one hathof you has a psalm, hathhas a teaching, hathhas a revelation, hathhas aanother tonguelanguage, hathor has an interpretation. Let all things be done untoto edifyingbuild each other up. |
| 14:27 |
If any man speakethspeaks in aanother tonguelanguage, let itthere be by two, or at the most three, and that in turn; and let one interpret:. |
| 14:28 |
butBut if there beis no interpreter, let him keep silencesilent in the church;assembly, and let him speak to himself, and to God. |
| 14:29 |
AndLet lettwo or three of the prophets speak by two or three, and let the others discern. |
| 14:30 |
But if a revelation beis made to another sitting by, let the first keep silencesilent. |
| 14:31 |
For yeyou all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted;. |
| 14:32 |
andThe the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets;, |
| 14:33 |
for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace., Asas in all the churchesassemblies of the saints,. |
| 14:34 |
letLet the womenwives keepbe silencequiet in the churches:assemblies, for it ishas not been permitted untofor them to speak;be buttalking letexcept them be in subjectionsubmission, as alsothe saithlaw thealso law.says, |
| 14:35 |
And if they woulddesire to learn anything,. letLet them ask their own husbands at home:, for it is shameful for a womanwife to speakbe talking in the churchassembly. |
| 14:36 |
What?!? wasWas it from you that the word of God went forthout? orOr camedid it untocome to you alone? |
| 14:37 |
If any man thinkeththinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him takerecognize knowledge of the things which I write untoto you, that they are the commandment of the Lord. |
| 14:38 |
But if anyanyone man is ignorant, let him be ignorant. |
| 14:39 |
WhereforeTherefore, my brethrenbrothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and dont forbid notspeaking towith speakother with tongueslanguages. |
| 14:40 |
ButLet let all things be done decently and in order. |
| 15:1 |
Now I makedeclare knownto unto you, brethrenbrothers, the gospelGood News which I preached untoto you, which also yeyou received, whereinin which you also ye stand, |
| 15:2 |
by which also yeyou are saved, if yeyou hold fastfirmly the word which I preached untoto you,—unless exceptyou ye believed in vain. |
| 15:3 |
For I delivered untoto you first of all that which I also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;Scriptures, |
| 15:4 |
and that he was buried;, and that he hathwas been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;Scriptures, |
| 15:5 |
and that he appeared to Cephas;, then to the twelve;. |
| 15:6 |
thenThen he appeared to aboveover five hundred brethrenbrothers at once, most of whom the greater part remain until now, but some arehave also fallen asleep;. |
| 15:7 |
thenThen he appeared to James;, then to all the apostles;, |
| 15:8 |
and last of all, as to the child untimelyborn bornat the wrong time, he appeared to me also. |
| 15:9 |
For I am the least of the apostles, thatwho amis not meetworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the churchassembly of God. |
| 15:10 |
But by the grace of God I am what I am:. andHis his grace which was bestowedgiven uponto me was not foundfutile, vain; but I laboredworked more abundantly than they all: of them; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. |
| 15:11 |
Whether then it beis I or they, so we preach, and so yeyou believed. |
| 15:12 |
Now if Christ is preached, that he hathhas been raised from the dead, how saydo some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? |
| 15:13 |
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hathhas Christ been raised:. |
| 15:14 |
andIf if Christ hathhas not been raised, then is our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain. |
| 15:15 |
YeaYes, and we are also found false witnesses of God;, because we witnessedtestified ofabout God that he raised up Christ:, whom he raiseddidnt notraise up, if soit beis true that the dead are not raised. |
| 15:16 |
For if the dead arearent not raised, neither hathhas Christ been raised:. |
| 15:17 |
andIf if Christ hathhas not been raised, your faith is vain; yeyou are yetstill in your sins. |
| 15:18 |
Then they also thatwho are fallen asleep in Christ have perished. |
| 15:20 |
But now hath Christ has been raised from the dead,. He became the first fruitsfruit of themthose thatwho are asleep. |
| 15:21 |
For since bydeath man came death, by man, came also the resurrection of the dead also came by man. |
| 15:22 |
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all will be made alive. |
| 15:23 |
But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits;, then theythose thatwho are Christs, at his coming. |
| 15:24 |
Then cometh the end comes, when he shallwill deliver up the kingdomKingdom to God, even the Father;, when he shallwill have abolished all rule and all authority and power. |
| 15:25 |
For he must reign, tilluntil he hathhas put all his enemies under his feet. |
| 15:26 |
The last enemy that shallwill be abolished is death. |
| 15:27 |
For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saithsays, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who didsubjected subject all things untoto him. |
| 15:28 |
AndWhen when all things have been subjected untoto him, then shall the Son will also himself be subjected to him thatwho didsubjected subject all things untoto him, that God may be all in all. |
| 15:29 |
ElseOr else what shallwill they do thatwho are baptized for the dead? If the dead arearent not raised at all, why then are they baptized for themthe dead? |
| 15:30 |
whyWhy do we also stand in jeopardy every hour? |
| 15:31 |
I protestaffirm, by thatthe gloryingboasting in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. |
| 15:32 |
If after the manner of men I fought with beastsanimals at Ephesus for human purposes, what dothdoes it profit me? If the dead are not raised, letthen uslets eat and drink, for totomorrow morrow we die. |
| 15:33 |
BeDont notbe deceived:! Evil companionships corrupt good morals. |
| 15:34 |
AwakeWake toup soberness righteously, and dont sin, not; for some have no knowledge of God:. I speaksay this to moveyour you to shame. |
| 15:35 |
But somesomeone one will say, How are the dead raised? and, withWith what mannerkind of body do they come? |
| 15:36 |
ThouYou foolish one, that which thouyou thyselfyourself sowestsow is not quickenedmade exceptalive unless it die:dies. |
| 15:37 |
andThat that which thouyou sowestsow, thouyou sowestdont notsow the body that shallwill be, but a bare grain, itmaybe may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;. |
| 15:38 |
butBut God givethgives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own. |
| 15:39 |
All flesh is not the same flesh:, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beastsanimals, and another flesh of birdsfish, and another of fishesbirds. |
| 15:40 |
There are also celestial bodies, and terrestrial bodies; terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial isdiffers one, from andthat the glory of the terrestrial is another. |
| 15:41 |
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differethdiffers from another star in glory. |
| 15:42 |
So also is the resurrection of the dead. ItThe body is sown in corruptionperishable; it is raised in incorruption:imperishable. |
| 15:43 |
itIt is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory:. itIt is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:. |
| 15:44 |
itIt is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. IfThere there is a natural body, and there is also a spiritual body. |
| 15:46 |
HowbeitHowever, that is not first which is spiritual isnt first, but that which is natural;, then that which is spiritual. |
| 15:47 |
The first man is of the earth, earthy:made theof dust. The second man is ofthe Lord from heaven. |
| 15:48 |
As is the earthyone made of dust, such are theythose who are also thatmade areof earthy:dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. |
| 15:49 |
AndAs as we have borne the image of thethose earthymade of dust, welets shall also bear the image of the heavenly. |
| 15:50 |
Now this I say this, brethrenbrothers, that flesh and blood cannotcant inherit theGods kingdom of GodKingdom; neither dothdoes corruptionthe perishable inherit incorruptionimperishable. |
| 15:51 |
Behold, I tell you a mystery:. We allwill shall not all sleep, but we shallwill all be changed, |
| 15:52 |
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:trumpet. forFor the trumpet shallwill sound, and the dead shallwill be raised incorruptible, and we shallwill be changed. |
| 15:53 |
For this corruptibleperishable body must putbecome on incorruptionimperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. |
| 15:54 |
But when this corruptibleperishable shallbody will have putbecome on incorruptionimperishable, and this mortal shallwill have put on immortality, then shallwhat comeis towritten passwill thehappen: saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. |
| 15:55 |
O deathDeath, where is thyyour victorysting? O deathHades, where is thyyour stingvictory? |
| 15:56 |
The sting of death is sin;, and the power of sin is the law:. |
| 15:57 |
butBut thanks be to God, who givethgives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 15:58 |
WhereforeTherefore, my beloved brethrenbrothers, be ye stedfaststeadfast, unmoveableimmovable, always abounding in the Lords work of the Lord, forasmuchbecause asyou ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. |
| 16:1 |
Now concerning the collection for the saints,: as I gavecommanded order to the churchesassemblies of Galatia, soyou also do yelikewise. |
| 16:2 |
UponOn the first day of theevery week, let each one of you laysave by him in store, as he may prosper, that no collections beare made when I come. |
| 16:3 |
AndWhen when I arrive, whomsoeverI yewill shallsend approve, whoever themyou willapprove I send with letters to carry your bountygracious untogift to Jerusalem:. |
| 16:4 |
andIf if it beis meetappropriate for me to go also, they shallwill go with me. |
| 16:5 |
But I will come untoto you, when I shall have passed through Macedonia;, for I passam passing through Macedonia;. |
| 16:6 |
butBut with you it may be that I shallwill abidestay with you, or even winter with you, that yeyou may setsend me forward on my journey whithersoeverwherever I go. |
| 16:7 |
For I do not wish to see you now byin thepassing, way;but for I hope to tarrystay a while with you, if the Lord permitpermits. |
| 16:8 |
But I will tarrystay at Ephesus until Pentecost;, |
| 16:9 |
for a great door and effectualeffective isdoor has opened untoto me, and there are many adversaries. |
| 16:10 |
Now if Timothy comecomes, see that he beis with you without fear;, for he workethdoes the work of the Lord, as I also do:. |
| 16:11 |
Therefore let no manone therefore despise him. But set him forward on his journey in peace, that he may come untoto me:; for I expect him with the brethrenbrothers. |
| 16:12 |
ButNow asconcerning touching Apollos the brother, I besoughtstrongly urged him much to come untoto you with the brethren:brothers, andbut it was not at all his willdesire to come now; but he will come when he shallhas havean opportunity. |
| 16:13 |
Watch! ye,Stand standfirm fast in the faith,! quitBe youcourageous! likeBe men, be strong.! |
| 16:14 |
Let all that yeyou do be done in love. |
| 16:15 |
Now I beseechbeg you, brethrenbrothers—you ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to ministerserve unto the saints,— |
| 16:16 |
that yeyou also be in subjection untoto such, and to everyeveryone onewho thathelps helpeth in the work and laborethlabors. |
| 16:17 |
And I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus:; for that which was lacking on your part, they supplied. |
| 16:18 |
For they refreshed my spirit and yours:. Therefore acknowledge yethose thereforewho themare like that are such. |
| 16:19 |
The churchesassemblies of Asia salutegreet you. Aquila and PriscaPriscilla salutegreet you muchwarmly in the Lord, together with the churchassembly that is in their house. |
| 16:20 |
All the brethrenbrothers salutegreet you. SaluteGreet one another with a holy kiss. |
| 16:21 |
TheThis salutationgreeting ofis by me, Paul, with minemy own hand. |
| 16:22 |
If any man lovethdoesnt notlove the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathemacursed. Maranatha.Come, Lord! |
| 16:24 |
My love beto withall of you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. |
