Paul a servant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle separatedset untoapart for the gospel of God |
| 1:2 |
which he promised aforebeforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures |
| 1:3 |
the gospel concerning his Son who was borndescended offrom the seed of David according to the flesh |
| 1:4 |
whoand wasdesignated declared to be the Son of God within power according to the spiritSpirit of holiness by thehis resurrection from the dead; even Jesus Christ our Lord |
| 1:5 |
through whom we have received grace and apostleship untoto bring about the obedience of faith amongfor all the nationssake forof his namesname sake;among all the nations |
| 1:6 |

| 1:7 |
toTo all thatGods arebeloved in Rome belovedwho ofare God called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ |
| 1:8 |
First I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you allbecause that your faith is proclaimed throughoutin all the whole world |
| 1:9 |
For God is my witness whom I serve inwith my spirit in the gospel of his Son howthat unceasinglywithout ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers |
| 1:10 |
makingasking requestthat ifsomehow by anyGods meanswill now at length I may benow prosperedat bylast thesucceed willin ofcoming God to come unto you |
| 1:11 |
For I long to see you that I may impart untoto you some spiritual gift to thestrengthen endyou ye may be established; |
| 1:12 |
that is that Iwe with you may be comfortedmutually inencouraged youby each of us by the others faith both yours and mine |
| 1:13 |
And I wouldwant notyou haveto youknow ignorant brethren that oftentimes I purposedhave often intended to come untoto you andbut wasthus hinderedfar hithertohave been prevented in order that I mightmay havereap some fruitharvest inamong you alsoas evenwell as inamong the rest of the Gentiles |
| 1:14 |
I am debtorunder obligation both to Greeks and to Barbariansbarbarians both to the wise and to the foolish: |
| 1:15 |
Soso as much as in me is I am readyeager to preach the gospel to you also thatwho are in Rome |
| 1:16 |
For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God untofor salvation to every one thatwho believeth;has faith to the Jew first and also to the Greek |
| 1:17 |
For thereinin isit revealedthe a righteousness of God fromis revealed through faith untofor faith:; as it is written ButHe thewho through faith is righteous shall live by faith |
| 1:18 |
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousnesswickedness of men who hinderby their wickedness suppress the truth in unrighteousness; |
| 1:19 |
becauseFor thatwhat whichcan isbe known ofabout God is manifestplain into them; forbecause God manifestedhas shown it untoto them |
| 1:20 |
ForEver the invisible things of him since the creation of the world arehis clearlyinvisible seennature beingnamely perceivedhis througheternal thepower thingsand thatdeity arehas madebeen evenclearly hisperceived everlastingin powerthe andthings divinity; that have been made So they mayare be without excuse:; |
| 1:21 |
becausefor thatalthough knowingthey knew God they glorifieddid not honor him not as God neitheror gavegive thanks; to him but they became vainfutile in their reasoningsthinking and their senseless heartminds waswere darkened |
| 1:22 |
ProfessingClaiming themselves to be wise they became fools |
| 1:23 |
and changedexchanged the glory of the incorruptibleimmortal God for theimages likenessresembling ofmortal an image of corruptible man andor of birds andor fouranimals footedor beasts and creeping thingsreptiles |
| 1:24 |
WhereforeTherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts untoto uncleannessimpurity thatto theirthe bodiesdishonoring shouldof betheir dishonoredbodies among themselves: |
| 1:25 |
forbecause that they exchanged the truth ofabout God for a lie and worshippedworshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator who is blessed for ever Amen |
| 1:26 |
For this causereason God gave them up untoto viledishonorable passions: forTheir their women changedexchanged the natural userelations intofor thatunnatural which is against nature: |
| 1:27 |
and likewise also the men leavinglikewise thegave up natural userelations ofwith thewomen womanand burnedwere inconsumed theirwith lustpassion for one toward another men committing shameless acts with men working unseemliness and receiving in themselvestheir thatown recompensepersons ofthe theirdue errorpenalty whichfor wastheir dueerror |

And evensince as they refuseddid tonot havesee Godfit into theiracknowledge knowledgeGod God gave them up untoto a reprobatebase mind and to doimproper thoseconduct things which are not fitting; |

whoFor he will render to every man according to his works: |
| 2:7 |
to themthose thatwho by patience in well doing seek for glory and honor and incorruptionimmortality he will give eternal life:; |
| 2:8 |
but untofor themthose thatwho are factious and obeydo not obey the truth but obey unrighteousnesswickedness shallthere will be wrath and indignationfury |
| 2:9 |
There will be tribulation and anguishdistress uponfor every soulhuman ofbeing manwho thatdoes worketh evil of the Jew first and also of the Greek; |
| 2:10 |
but glory and honor and peace tofor every manone thatwho workethdoes good to the Jew first and also to the Greek: |
| 2:11 |
forFor thereGod isshows no respect of persons with God partiality |
| 2:12 |
ForAll aswho many as have sinned without the law shallwill also perish without the law: and asall manywho as have sinned under the law shallwill be judged by the law; |
| 2:13 |
forFor it is not the hearers of the law who are justrighteous before God but the doers of the law shallwho will be justified; |
| 2:14 |
forWhen when Gentiles thatwho have not the law do by nature what the thingslaw ofrequires thethey are a law theseto notthemselves havingeven thethough lawthey aredo not have the law unto themselves; |
| 2:15 |
inThey show that theywhat show the worklaw ofrequires theis law written inon their hearts while their conscience bearingalso bears witness therewith and their conflicting thoughts oneaccuse with another accusing or elseperhaps excusingexcuse them; |
| 2:16 |
inon thethat day when according to my gospel God shalljudges judge the secrets of men accordingby toChrist my gospel by Jesus Christ |
| 2:17 |
But if thouyou bearestcall theyourself name of a Jew and restestrely upon the law and gloriestboast inof your relation to God |
| 2:18 |
and knowestknow his will and approvestapprove thewhat thingsis thatexcellent arebecause excellentyou beingare instructed outin of the law |
| 2:19 |
and artif confidentyou are sure that thouyou thyselfare art a guide ofto the blind a light ofto themthose thatwho are in darkness |

| 2:23 |
thouYou who gloriestboast in the law throughdo thyyou transgressiondishonor ofGod by breaking the law dishonorest thou God |
| 2:24 |
For theas it is written The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you even as it is written |
| 2:25 |
ForCircumcision circumcision indeed profitethis ifof thouvalue beif ayou doerobey of the law:; but if thouyou bebreak a transgressor of the law thyyour circumcision isbecomes become uncircumcision |
| 2:26 |
IfSo thereforeif thea uncircumcisionman keepwho is uncircumcised keeps the ordinancesprecepts of the law shallwill not his uncircumcision be reckonedregarded foras circumcision |
| 2:27 |
andThen shallthose notwho theare uncircumcisionphysically whichuncircumcised isbut bykeep nature if it fulfil the law judgewill theecondemn you who withhave the letterwritten code and circumcision artbut abreak transgressor of the law |
| 2:28 |
For he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly; neithernor is thattrue circumcision whichsomething isexternal outwardand inphysical the flesh: |
| 2:29 |
butHe he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and real circumcision is thata matter of the heart inspiritual theand spirit not inliteral theHis letter; whose praise is not offrom men but offrom God |
| 3:1 |
WhatThen what advantage thenhas hath the Jew orOr what is the profitvalue of circumcision |
| 3:2 |
Much in every way: firstTo ofbegin allwith thatthe theyJews wereare intrustedentrusted with the oracles of God |
| 3:3 |
ForWhat what if some were withoutunfaithful faithDoes shall their wantfaithlessness ofnullify faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God |
| 3:4 |
GodBy forbid:no yeameans letLet God be found true butthough every man abe liar;false as it is written That thou mightestmayest be justified in thy words Andand mightest prevail when thou comestart into judgmentjudged |
| 3:5 |
But if our unrighteousnesswickedness commendethserves to show the righteousnessjustice of God what shall we say IsThat God unrighteousis whounjust visitethto withinflict wrath on us I speak afterin thea mannerhuman ofway men |
| 3:6 |
GodBy forbid:no formeans For then how shallcould God judge the world |
| 3:7 |
But if thethrough truthmy offalsehood GodGods throughtruthfulness myabounds lieto abounded unto his glory why am I also still judgedbeing condemned as a sinner |
| 3:8 |
andAnd why not asdo weevil arethat slanderouslygood reportedmay and come—as some affirmpeople thatslanderously wecharge say Let us dowith evilsaying thatTheir good may come whose condemnation is just |
| 3:9 |
What then areAre we Jews any better thanoff they No innot noat wise:all; for weI beforehave laidalready tocharged thethat chargeall men both of Jews and Greeks thatare theyunder arethe allpower underof sin; |
| 3:10 |
as it is written: ThereNone is none righteous no not one; |
| 3:11 |
Thereno isone noneunderstands thatno understandethone Thereseeks isfor none that seeketh after God; |
| 3:12 |
TheyAll have all turned aside together they arehave togethergone become unprofitablewrong; Thereno isone nonedoes that doeth good no not soeven much as one: |
| 3:13 |
Their throat is an open sepulchre;grave Withthey use their tongues theyto havedeceive used deceit: The poisonvenom of asps is under their lips: |
| 3:14 |
WhoseTheir mouth is full of cursingcurses and bitterness: |
| 3:15 |
Their feet are swift to shed blood; |
| 3:16 |
Destructionin andtheir miserypaths are inruin theirand ways;misery |
| 3:17 |
Andand the way of peace have they do not known:know |
| 3:19 |
Now we know that whatwhatever things soever the law saithsays it speakethspeaks to themthose thatwho are under the law; so that every mouth may be stopped and all the whole world may be broughtheld underaccountable theto judgment of God: |
| 3:20 |
becauseFor byno thehuman worksbeing ofwill the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; forby throughworks of the law comethsince through the law comes knowledge of sin |
| 3:21 |
But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hathhas been manifested beingapart witnessedfrom bylaw although the law and the prophets; bear witness to it |
| 3:22 |
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ untofor all themwho that believe; forFor there is no distinction; |
| 3:23 |
forsince all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; |
| 3:24 |
beingthey are justified freely by his grace as a gift through the redemption thatwhich is in Christ Jesus: |
| 3:25 |
whom God setput forthforward as an expiation by his blood to be areceived propitiationby through faith inThis hiswas blood to show hisGods righteousness because ofin thehis passingdivine overforbearance ofhe thehad sinspassed doneover aforetimeformer in the forbearance of Godsins; |
| 3:26 |
forit thewas showingto Iprove say of his righteousness at thisthe present season:time that he might himself beis justrighteous and thethat justifierhe ofjustifies him thatwho hathhas faith in Jesus |
| 3:27 |
WhereThen thenwhat isbecomes theof gloryingour boasting It is excluded ByOn what mannerprinciple ofOn lawthe principle of works Nay:No but byon athe lawprinciple of faith |
| 3:28 |
WeFor reckonwe thereforehold that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law |
| 3:29 |
Or is God the God of Jews only isIs he not the God of Gentiles also YeaYes of Gentiles also: |
| 3:30 |
ifsince so be that God is one; and he shallwill justify the circumcisioncircumcised byon the ground of their faith and the uncircumcisionuncircumcised through their faith |
| 3:31 |
Do we then makeoverthrow the law ofby nonethis effectfaith throughBy faithno Godmeans forbid:On naythe contrary we establishuphold the law |
| 4:1 |
What then shall we say thatabout Abraham our forefather hath found according to the flesh |
| 4:2 |
For if Abraham was justified by works he hathhas whereofsomething to glory;boast about but not towardbefore God |
| 4:3 |
For what saithdoes the scripture Andsay Abraham believed God and it was reckoned untoto him foras righteousness |
| 4:4 |
Now to himone thatwho workethworks thehis rewardwages isare not reckoned as ofa gracegift but as ofhis debtdue |
| 4:5 |
ButAnd to himone thatwho workethdoes not work but believethtrusts on him thatwho justifiethjustifies the ungodly his faith is reckoned foras righteousness |
| 4:6 |
EvenSo asalso David alsopronounces pronouncetha blessing upon the man untoto whom God reckonethreckons righteousness apart from works : |
| 4:7 |
saying Blessed are theythose whose iniquities are forgiven Andand whose sins are covered; |
| 4:8 |
Blessedblessed is the man toagainst whom the Lord will not reckon his sin |
| 4:9 |
Is this blessing then pronounced only upon the circumcisioncircumcised or also upon the uncircumcisionuncircumcised alsoWe for we say Tothat Abraham his faith was reckoned forto Abraham as righteousness |
| 4:10 |
How then was it reckoned whento hehim wasWas init circumcisionbefore or inafter uncircumcisionhe Nothad inbeen circumcisioncircumcised It was not after but inbefore uncircumcision:he was circumcised |
| 4:11 |
andHe he received thecircumcision signas ofa circumcisionsign aor seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had by faith while he was instill uncircumcision:uncircumcised thatThe hepurpose mightwas beto make him the father of all themwho that believe thoughwithout theybeing becircumcised inand uncircumcisionwho thatthus have righteousness might be reckoned untoto them; |
| 4:12 |
and likewise the father of circumcisionthe tocircumcised them who not only are ofnot themerely circumcisioncircumcised but who also walkfollow in the stepsexample of thatthe faith ofwhich our father Abraham whichhad before he hadwas in uncircumcision circumcised |
| 4:13 |
ForThe not through the law was the promise to Abraham orand to his seeddescendants that hethey should beinherit heirthe ofworld did not come through the worldlaw but through the righteousness of faith |
| 4:14 |
ForIf ifit theyis thatthe areadherents of the law who are to be the heirs faith is madenull void and the promise is madevoid of none effect: |
| 4:15 |
forFor the law workethbrings wrath; but where there is no law neitherthere is thereno transgression |
| 4:16 |
ForThat thisis causewhy it isdepends ofon faith in order that itthe promise may berest accordingon to grace; toand the end that the promise may be sureguaranteed to all thehis seed; descendants—not only to thatthe onlyadherents which is of the law but also to thatthose alsowho whichshare is of the faith of Abraham whofor he is the father of us all |
| 4:17 |
as it is written AI have made you the father of many nations—in havethe Ipresence madeof theethe beforeGod himin whom he believed even God who givethgives life to the dead and callethcalls into existence the things that aredo not asexist though they were |
| 4:18 |
WhoIn in hope he believed against hope to the end that he mightshould become athe father of many nations; accordingas tohe that which had been spokentold So shall thyyour seeddescendants be |
| 4:19 |
AndHe withoutdid beingnot weakenedweaken in faith when he considered his own body nowwhich was as good as dead because he beingwas about a hundred years old andor when he considered the deadnessbarrenness of Sarahs womb; |
| 4:20 |
yetNo lookingdistrust untomade him waver concerning the promise of God but he waveredgrew notstrong throughin unbeliefhis butfaith waxedas stronghe throughgave faith giving glory to God |
| 4:21 |
and being fully assuredconvinced that whatGod hewas hadable promisedto hedo waswhat ablehe alsohad topromised perform |
| 4:22 |
WhereforeThat alsois itwhy his faith was reckoned untoto him foras righteousness |
| 4:23 |
NowBut the words it was notreckoned to him were written not for his sake alone that it was reckoned unto him; |
| 4:24 |
but for ourours sake also untoIt whomwill it shall be reckoned to us who believe onin him that raised from the dead Jesus our Lord from the dead |
| 4:25 |
who was deliveredput upto death for our trespasses and was raised for our justification |
| 5:1 |
BeingTherefore thereforesince we are justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; |
| 5:2 |
throughThrough whomhim also we have hadobtained our access byto faith into this grace whereinin which we stand; and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God |
| 5:3 |
AndMore notthan onlythat so but we also rejoice in our tribulations:sufferings knowing that tribulationsuffering workethproduces stedfastness;endurance |
| 5:4 |
and stedfastnessendurance approvedness;produces character and approvednesscharacter produces hope: |
| 5:5 |
and hope puttethdoes not todisappoint shame;us because theGods love ofhas God hath been shedpoured abroadinto in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which washas been given untoto us |
| 5:6 |
ForWhile while we were yetstill weak inat duethe seasonright time Christ died for the ungodly |
| 5:7 |
ForWhy scarcelyone will hardly die for a righteous man—though willperhaps one die: for peradventurea for the good man some one wouldwill dare even dare to die |
| 5:8 |
But God commendethshows his own love towardfor us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us |
| 5:9 |
MuchSince moretherefore thenwe beingare now justified by his blood much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God through him |
| 5:10 |
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God throughby the death of his Son much more beingnow that we are reconciled shall we be saved by his life; |
| 5:11 |
andNot not only so but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we have now received theour reconciliation |
| 5:12 |
Therefore as through one man sin enteredcame into the world through one man and death through sin; and so death passedspread untoto all men forbecause that all men sinned:—— |
| 5:13 |
forsin untilindeed the law sin was in the world; before the law was given but sin is not imputedcounted whenwhere there is no law |
| 5:14 |
NeverthelessYet death reigned from Adam untilto Moses even over themthose thatwhose hadsins were not sinnedlike after the likenesstransgression of AdamsAdam transgression who iswas a figuretype of himthe thatone who was to come |
| 5:15 |
But notthe asfree thegift trespassis sonot alsolike is the freetrespass gift For if bymany thedied trespassthrough of the one themans manytrespass died much more didhave the grace of God and the free gift byin the grace of thethat one man Jesus Christ aboundabounded untofor the many |
| 5:16 |
And the free gift is not aslike throughthe oneeffect of that sinnedone somans issin theFor gift: for the judgment camefollowing of one untotrespass brought condemnation but the free gift camefollowing of many trespasses untobrings justification |
| 5:17 |
ForIf ifbecause byof theone mans trespass of the one death reigned through thethat one; man much more shallwill theythose thatwho receive the abundance of grace and of the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one evenman Jesus Christ |
| 5:18 |
SoThen then as through one mans trespass theled judgmentto camecondemnation untofor all men to condemnation; even so through one mans act of righteousness theleads freeto giftacquittal cameand untolife for all men to justification of life |
| 5:19 |
For as throughby the one mans disobedience the many were made sinners even so throughby the obedience of the one shallmans theobedience many will be made righteous |
| 5:20 |
AndLaw the law came in besidesto thatincrease the trespass might abound; but where sin aboundedincreased grace didabounded aboundall the more exceedingly: |
| 5:21 |
so that as sin reigned in death evengrace soalso might grace reign through righteousness untoto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord |
| 6:1 |
What shall we say then ShallAre we to continue in sin that grace may abound |
| 6:2 |
GodBy forbidno Wemeans How can we who died to sin howstill shalllive wein anyit longer live therein |
| 6:3 |
OrDo areyou yenot ignorantknow that all weof us who werehave been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death |
| 6:4 |
We were buried therefore with him throughby baptism into death: so that like as Christ was raised from the dead throughby the glory of the Father so we alsotoo might walk in newness of life |
| 6:5 |
For if we have becomebeen united with him in thea likenessdeath oflike his death we shall certainly be alsounited with him in thea likenessresurrection oflike his resurrection; |
| 6:6 |
knowingWe thisknow that our old manself was crucified with him so that the sinful body of sin might be donedestroyed awayand that so we shouldmight no longer be inenslaved bondage to sin; |
| 6:7 |
forFor he thatwho hathhas died is justifiedfreed from sin |
| 6:8 |
But if we have died with Christ we believe that we shall also live with him; |
| 6:9 |
knowingFor we know that Christ being raised from the dead diethwill nonever moredie again; death no morelonger hathhas dominion over him |
| 6:10 |
ForThe the death that he died he died untoto sin once: for all but the life that he livethlives he livethlives untoto God |
| 6:11 |
EvenSo soyou reckonalso yemust alsoconsider yourselves to be dead untoto sin butand alive untoto God in Christ Jesus |
| 6:12 |
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodybodies thatto yemake shouldyou obey thetheir lustspassions thereof: |
| 6:13 |
neitherDo presentnot yield your members untoto sin as instruments of unrighteousness;wickedness but presentyield yourselves untoto God as alivemen who have been brought from thedeath deadto life and your members to God as instruments of righteousness unto God |
| 6:14 |
For sin shallwill not have no dominion over you: forsince yeyou are not under law but under grace |
| 6:15 |
What then shallAre we to sin because we are not under law but under grace GodBy forbidno means |
| 6:16 |
KnowDo yeyou not know that toif whomyou yeyield present yourselves asto servantsany untoone obedienceas hisobedient servantsslaves yeyou are slaves of the one whom yeyou obey; whethereither of sin untowhich leads to death or of obedience untowhich leads to righteousness |
| 6:17 |
But thanks be to God that whereasyou yewho were servantsonce slaves of sin yehave becamebecome obedient from the heart to thatthe formstandard of teaching whereuntoto yewhich you were delivered;committed |
| 6:18 |
and beinghaving madebeen set free from sin yehave becamebecome servantsslaves of righteousness |
| 6:19 |
I speakam afterspeaking thein mannerhuman ofterms men because of theyour infirmitynatural oflimitations yourFor flesh:just for as yeyou presentedonce yielded your members as servants to uncleannessimpurity and to iniquitygreater untoand greater iniquity even so now presentyield your members as servants to righteousness untofor sanctification |
| 6:20 |
ForWhen whenyou ye were servantsslaves of sin yeyou were free in regard ofto righteousness |
| 6:21 |
WhatBut fruit then hadwhat yereturn atdid thatyou timeget infrom the things whereofof yewhich you are now ashamed forThe the end of those things is death |
| 6:22 |
But now beingthat madeyou have been set free from sin and have become servantsslaves toof God yethe havereturn youryou fruitget untois sanctification and theits end eternal life |
| 6:23 |
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord |
| 7:1 |
OrDo areyou yenot ignorantknow brethren —for I speakam speaking to menthose who know the law —that the law hathis dominionbinding overon a manperson foronly soduring longhis timelife as he liveth |
| 7:2 |
ForThus thea married woman that hath a husband is bound by law to theher husband whileas long as he livethlives; but if theher husband diedies she is discharged from the law ofconcerning the husband |
| 7:3 |
SoAccordingly thenshe ifwill whilebe thecalled husbandan livethadulteress if she belives joinedwith to another man shewhile shallher behusband calledis analive adulteress:But but if theher husband diedies she is free from thethat law soand thatif she ismarries noanother adulteressman though she beis joinednot toan another man adulteress |
| 7:4 |
WhereforeLikewise my brethren yeyou alsohave weredied made dead to the law through the body of Christ; so that yeyou shouldmay bebelong joined to another even to him who washas been raised from the dead in order that we mightmay bringbear forth fruit untofor God |
| 7:5 |
ForWhile when we were living in the flesh theour sinful passions whicharoused wereby through the law wroughtwere at work in our members to bringbear forth fruit untofor death |
| 7:6 |
But now we haveare been discharged from the law havingdead died to that whereinwhich weheld wereus held;captive so that we serve innot newnessunder of the spiritold andwritten notcode but in oldnessthe new life of the letterSpirit |
| 7:7 |
What then shall we say thenThat Is the law is sin GodBy forbidno Howbeitmeans IYet if it had not knownbeen sinfor except through the law: forI should not have known sin I hadshould not have known covetingwhat exceptit is to covet if the law had not said ThouYou shaltshall not covet: |
| 7:8 |
butBut sin finding occasionopportunity in the commandment wrought in me through the commandment all mannerkinds of coveting:covetousness forApart apart from the law sin islies dead |
| 7:9 |
And I was once alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came sin revived and I died; |
| 7:10 |
and the very commandment which waspromised unto life thisproved I found to be unto death: to me |
| 7:11 |
forFor sin finding occasionopportunity throughin the commandment beguileddeceived me and throughby it slewkilled me |
| 7:12 |
So that the law is holy and the commandment is holy and righteousjust and good |
| 7:13 |
Did then that which is good becomethen bring death untoto me GodBy forbidno Butmeans It was sin thatworking itdeath mightin beme shownthrough towhat beis singood byin workingorder deaththat tosin memight throughbe thatshown whichto isbe good;—thatsin and through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful beyond measure |
| 7:14 |
ForWe we know that the law is spiritual:; but I am carnal sold under sin |
| 7:15 |
For that which I do Inot knowunderstand not:my forown notactions whatFor I woulddo thatnot do what I practise;want but what I hatedo thatthe very thing I dohate |
| 7:16 |
ButNow if I do what I woulddo not thatwant I doagree Ithat consent unto the law that it is good |
| 7:17 |
So nowthen it is no morelonger I that do it but sin which dwellethdwells inwithin me |
| 7:18 |
For I know that innothing good dwells within me that is in my flesh dwellethI nocan goodwill thing:what for to will is presentright withbut meI butcannot to do thatit which is good is not |
| 7:19 |
For theI gooddo whichnot Ido wouldthe good I dowant not: but the evil which I woulddo not thatwant is what I practisedo |
| 7:20 |
ButNow if I do what I woulddo not thatwant I do it is no morelonger I that do it but sin which dwellethdwells inwithin me |
| 7:21 |
So I find thenit theto be a law that towhen meI whowant wouldto do goodright evil islies presentclose at hand |
| 7:22 |
For I delight in the law of God afterin themy inwardinmost man:self |
| 7:23 |
but I see a different law in my members warringanother againstlaw at war with the law of my mind and bringingmaking me intocaptive captivityto under the law of sin which isdwells in my members |
| 7:24 |
Wretched man that I am whoWho shallwill deliver me outfrom ofthis the body of this death |
| 7:25 |
IThanks thankbe to God through Jesus Christ our Lord So then I of myself with the mind indeed serve the law of God; with my mind but with themy flesh I serve the law of sin |
| 8:1 |
There is therefore now no condemnation tofor themthose thatwho are in Christ Jesus |
| 8:2 |
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus madehas set me free from the law of sin and of death |
| 8:3 |
For God has done what the law couldweakened notby dothe inflesh thatcould itnot wasdo: weak through the flesh God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin he condemned sin in the flesh: |
| 8:4 |
in order that the ordinancejust requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not afteraccording to the flesh but afteraccording to the Spirit |
| 8:5 |
For theythose thatwho arelive afteraccording to the flesh mindset their minds on the things of the flesh; but theythose thatwho arelive afteraccording to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit |
| 8:6 |
ForTo set the mind ofon the flesh is death; but to set the mind ofon the Spirit is life and peace: |
| 8:7 |
becauseFor the mind ofthat is set on the flesh is enmityhostile againstto God; for it isdoes not subjectsubmit to theGods law of God neither indeed can it be:cannot; |
| 8:8 |
and theythose thatwho are in the flesh cannot please God |
| 8:9 |
But yeyou are not in the flesh butyou are in the Spirit if soin befact that the Spirit of God dwellethdwells in you ButAny ifone anywho mandoes hath not have the Spirit of Christ hedoes isnot nonebelong ofto hishim |
| 8:10 |
AndBut if Christ is in you thealthough bodyyour isbodies are dead because of sin; butyour thespirits spiritare isalive life because of righteousness |
| 8:11 |
ButIf if the Spirit of him thatwho raised up Jesus from the dead dwellethdwells in you he thatwho raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shallwill give life also to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit thatwhich dwellethdwells in you |
| 8:12 |
So then brethren we are debtors not to the flesh to live afteraccording to the flesh:— |
| 8:13 |
for if yeyou live afteraccording to the flesh yeyou mustwill die; but if by the Spirit yeyou put to death the deeds of the body yeyou shallwill live |
| 8:14 |
For asall manywho as are led by the Spirit of God these are sons of God |
| 8:15 |
For yeyou receiveddid not receive the spirit of bondageslavery againto untofall back into fear; but yeyou have received the spirit of adoptionsonship wherebyWhen we cry Abba Father |
| 8:16 |
Theit is the Spirit himself bearethbearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God: |
| 8:17 |
and if children then heirs; heirs of God and jointfellow heirs with Christ; ifprovided so be that we suffer with him in order that we may also be also glorified with him |
| 8:18 |
For I reckonconsider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthyworth tocomparing be compared with the glory whichthat shallis to be revealed to us ward |
| 8:19 |
For the earnestcreation expectationwaits ofwith theeager creationlonging waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God; |
| 8:20 |
Forfor the creation was subjected to vanityfutility not of its own will but by reasonthe will of him who subjected it in hope; |
| 8:21 |
thatbecause the creation itself alsowill shall be deliveredset free from theits bondage ofto corruptiondecay intoand obtain the glorious liberty of the glory of the children of God |
| 8:22 |
ForWe we know that the whole creation groanethhas andbeen travailethgroaning in paintravail together until now; |
| 8:23 |
Andand not only sothe creation but we ourselves also who have the first fruits of the Spirit evengroan weinwardly ourselvesas groanwe withinwait ourselves waiting for our adoption toas witsons the redemption of our bodybodies |
| 8:24 |
For in this hope we were we saved: butNow hope that is seen is not hope: forFor who hopethhopes for thatwhat which he seethsees |
| 8:25 |
But if we hope for thatwhat which we seedo not thensee do we with patience wait for it with patience |
| 8:26 |
AndLikewise in like manner the Spirit alsohelps helpethus in our infirmity:weakness; for we knowdo not know how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself makethintercedes intercession for us with groaningssighs whichtoo cannotdeep befor uttered;words |
| 8:27 |
andAnd he thatwho searchethsearches the hearts knowethof men knows what is the mind of the Spirit because hethe makethSpirit intercessionintercedes for the saints according to the will of God |
| 8:28 |
AndWe we know that toin themeverything that love God allworks thingsfor workgood togetherwith forthose goodwho evenlove tohim themwho that are called according to his purpose |
| 8:29 |
For those whom he foreknew he also foreordainedpredestined to be conformed to the image of his Son in order that he might be the firstbornfirst born among many brethren: |
| 8:30 |
andAnd those whom he foreordainedpredestined them he also called:; and those whom he called them he also justified:; and those whom he justified them he also glorified |
| 8:31 |
What then shall we say to thesethis things If God is for us who is against us |
| 8:32 |
He thatwho spareddid not spare his own Son but deliveredgave him up for us all howwill shall he not also with him freely give us all things with him |
| 8:33 |
Who shall laybring anythingany to the charge ofagainst Gods elect It is God thatwho justifiethjustifies; |
| 8:34 |
who is heto thatcondemn condemnethIs Itit is Christ Jesus thatwho died yeayes ratherwho that was raised from the dead who is at the right hand of God who alsoindeed makethintercedes intercession for us |
| 8:35 |
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ shallShall tribulation or anguishdistress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword |
| 8:36 |
EvenAs as it is written For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; Wewe wereare accountedregarded as sheep forto thebe slaughterslaughtered |
| 8:37 |
NayNo in all these things we are more than conquerors through him thatwho loved us |
| 8:38 |
For I am persuadedsure that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor things present nor things to come nor powers |
| 8:39 |
nor height nor depth nor anyanything otherelse creaturein shallall creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord |
| 9:1 |
I sayam speaking the truth in Christ I lieam not lying; my conscience bearingbears me witness with me in the Holy Spirit |
| 9:2 |
that I have great sorrow and unceasing painanguish in my heart |
| 9:3 |
For I could wish that I myself were anathemaaccursed and cut off from Christ for mythe brethrens sake of my kinsmenbrethren accordingmy tokinsmen theby flesh:race |
| 9:4 |
whoThey are Israelites; whoseand isto them belong the adoptionsonship and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the law and the serviceworship of God and the promises; |
| 9:5 |
whoseto arethem belong the fatherspatriarchs and of whomtheir israce Christaccording asto concerning the flesh is the Christ God who is over all Godbe blessed for ever Amen |
| 9:6 |
But it is not as though the word of God hathhad comefailed toFor noughtnot Forall theywho are notdescended allfrom Israel thatbelong areto of Israel: |
| 9:7 |
neitherand becausenot theyall are Abrahamschildren seedof areAbraham because they allare children:his descendants; but InThrough Isaac shall thyyour seeddescendants be callednamed |
| 9:8 |
ThatThis ismeans that it is not the children of the flesh thatwho are the children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned foras adescendants seed |
| 9:9 |
For this is awhat wordthe of promise Accordingsaid toAbout this seasontime I will Ireturn come and Sarah shall have a son |
| 9:10 |
And not only so; but also when Rebecca alsohad having conceived children by one evenman by our fatherforefather Isaac— |
| 9:11 |
forthough thethey childrenwere being not yet born neitherand havinghad done anythingnothing either good or bad in order that theGods purpose of God according to election might standcontinue not because of works but because of himhis thatcall calleth |
| 9:12 |
itshe was saidtold unto her The elder shallwill serve the younger |
| 9:13 |
EvenAs as it is written Jacob I loved but Esau I hated |
| 9:14 |
What shall we say then Is there unrighteousnessinjustice withon GodGods Godpart forbidBy no means |
| 9:15 |
For he saithsays to Moses I will have mercy on whom I have mercy and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion |
| 9:16 |
So then it isdepends not ofupon himmans thatwill willethor norexertion of him that runneth but ofupon GodGods that hath mercy |
| 9:17 |
For the scripture saithsays untoto Pharaoh ForI thishave veryraised purposeyou didup Ifor raisethe theevery uppurpose thatof Ishowing mightmy showpower in theeyou myso power and that my name mightmay be publishedproclaimed abroad in all the earth |
| 9:18 |
So then he hathhas mercy onupon whomwhomever he willwills and whom he willhardens the heart of whomever he hardenethwills |
| 9:19 |
ThouYou wiltwill say thento unto me then Why dothdoes he still find fault For who withstandethcan resist his will |
| 9:20 |
NayBut butwho Oare manyou whoa artman thouto thatanswer repliestback againstto God ShallWill thewhat thingis formedmolded say to himits thatmolder formed it Why didsthave thouyou makemade me thus |
| 9:21 |
OrHas hath not the potter ano right over the clay fromto make out of the same lump to make one part a vessel untofor honorbeauty and another untofor dishonormenial use |
| 9:22 |
What if God willingdesiring to show his wrath and to make known his power knownhas endured with much longsufferingpatience the vessels of wrath fittedmade untofor destruction: |
| 9:23 |
andin thatorder heto might make known the riches of his glory uponfor the vessels of mercy which he aforehas prepared untobeforehand for glory |
| 9:24 |
even us whom he alsohas called not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles |
| 9:25 |
As indeed he saithsays also in HoseaHose′a IThose willwho callwere thatnot my people whichI waswill notcall my people; Andand her belovedwho that was not beloved I will call my beloved |
| 9:26 |
And it shall be that in the very place where it was said untoto them YeYou are not my people Therethey shallwill they be called sons of the living God |
| 9:27 |
And Isaiah criethcries out concerning Israel: IfThough the number of the childrensons of Israel be as the sand of the sea itonly isa the remnant thatof shallthem will be saved:; |
| 9:28 |
for the Lord will execute his wordsentence upon the earth finishingwith itrigor and cuttingdispatch it short |
| 9:29 |
And as Isaiah hathpredicted saidIf before Except the Lord of Sabaothhosts had not left us achildren seedwe Wewould hadhave becomefared aslike Sodom and had been made like unto GomorrahGomor′rah |
| 9:30 |
What shall we say then That the Gentiles who followeddid not afterpursue righteousness have attained toit righteousnessthat evenis the righteousness whichthrough is of faith:; |
| 9:31 |
but that Israel followingwho afterpursued athe lawrighteousness ofwhich righteousnessis based on law did not arrivesucceed atin fulfilling that law |
| 9:32 |
WhereforeWhy Because they soughtdid not pursue it notthrough by faith but as if it were bybased on works They have stumbled atover the stumbling stone of stumbling; |
| 9:33 |
even as it is written Behold I layam laying in Zion a stone ofthat stumblingwill andmake men stumble a rock ofthat offence:will Andmake them fall; and he thatwho believethbelieves onin him shallwill not be put to shame |
| 10:1 |
Brethren my hearts desire and myprayer supplication to God is for them is that they may be saved |
| 10:2 |
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God but notit accordingis tonot knowledgeenlightened |
| 10:3 |
For being ignorant of Godsthe righteousness that comes from God and seeking to establish their own they did not subjectsubmit themselves to theGods righteousness of God |
| 10:4 |
For Christ is the end of the law untothat righteousness to every one thatwho believethhas faith may be justified |
| 10:5 |
For Moses writethwrites that the man thatwho doethpractices the righteousness which is ofbased on the law shall live therebyby it |
| 10:6 |
But the righteousness whichbased ison of faith saithsays thusDo Say not say in thyyour heart Who shallwill ascend into heaven that is to bring Christ down: |
| 10:7 |
or Who shallwill descend into the abyss that is to bring Christ up from the dead |
| 10:8 |
But what saithdoes it say The word is nighnear theeyou inon thyyour mouthlips and in thyyour heart: that is the word of faith which we preach:; |
| 10:9 |
because if thouyou shalt confess with thyyour mouthlips that Jesus asis Lord and shalt believe in thyyour heart that God raised him from the dead thouyou shaltwill be saved: |
| 10:10 |
forFor man believes with thehis heart manand believethso untois righteousness;justified and he confesses with thehis mouthlips confessionand so is madesaved unto salvation |
| 10:11 |
ForThe the scripture saithsays WhosoeverNo believethone onwho believes in him shallwill not be put to shame |
| 10:12 |
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek:; for the same Lord is Lord of all and isbestows richhis untoriches upon all thatwho call upon him: |
| 10:13 |
forFor Whosoeverevery shallone callwho calls upon the name of the Lord shallwill be saved |
| 10:14 |
HowBut thenhow shallare theymen to call onupon him in whom they have not believed andAnd how shallare they to believe in him of whom they have notnever heard andAnd how shallare they to hear without a preacher |
| 10:15 |
andAnd how shallcan theymen preach exceptunless they beare sent evenAs as it is written How beautiful are the feet of themthose thatwho bringpreach gladgood tidingsnews of good things |
| 10:16 |
But they didhave not all hearkenobeyed to the gladgospel; tidingsfor For Isaiah saithsays Lord who hathhas believed ourwhat reporthe has heard from us |
| 10:17 |
So belieffaith comethcomes offrom hearingwhat is heard and hearingwhat is heard comes by the wordpreaching of Christ |
| 10:18 |
But I sayask Didhave they not hearheard YeaIndeed verilythey have; for Their soundvoice wenthas gone out intoto all the earth Andand their words untoto the ends of the world |
| 10:19 |
ButAgain I sayask Diddid Israel not knowunderstand First Moses saithsays I will provokemake you tojealous jealousyof withthose thatwho whichare isnot noa nation; Withwith a foolish nation voidI of understanding will Imake angeryou youangry |
| 10:20 |
AndThen Isaiah is veryso bold andas saithto say I washave been found ofby themthose thatwho soughtdid not seek me not; I becamehave manifestshown untomyself themto thatthose askedwho did not ofask for me |
| 10:21 |
But asof to Israel he saithsays All the day long did I spreadhave held out my hands untoto a disobedient and gainsayingcontrary people |
| 11:1 |
I sayask then Didhas God castrejected off his people GodBy forbidno Formeans I alsomyself am an Israelite ofa thedescendant seed of Abraham a member of the tribe of Benjamin |
| 11:2 |
God didhas not castrejected off his people whichwhom he foreknew OrDo knowyou ye not know what the scripture saithsays of ElijahEli′jah how he pleadethpleads with God against Israel: |
| 11:3 |
Lord they have killed thy prophets they have diggeddemolished downthy thine altars; and I alone am left alone and they seek my life |
| 11:4 |
But what saithis theGods answerreply ofto God unto him I have leftkept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to BaalBa′al |
| 11:5 |
EvenSo sotoo then at thisthe present time also there is a remnant accordingchosen toby the election of grace |
| 11:6 |
But if it is by grace it is no morelonger on the basis of works:; otherwise grace iswould no morelonger be grace |
| 11:7 |
What then That which Israel seekethfailed forto thatobtain hewhat obtainedit not;sought butThe theelect election obtained it andbut the rest were hardened: |
| 11:8 |
according as it is written God gave them a spirit of stupor eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear untodown to this very day |
| 11:9 |
And David saithsays Let their table bebecome made a snare and a trap And a stumblingblockpitfall and a recompenseretribution untofor them:; |
| 11:10 |
Letlet their eyes be darkened so that they maycannot not see Andand bowbend thoutheir downbacks theirfor back alwaysever |
| 11:11 |
So I sayask thenhave Did they stumblestumbled thatso theyas mightto fall GodBy forbid:no butmeans byBut through their falltrespass salvation ishas come untoto the Gentiles so as to provokemake themIsrael tojealous jealousy |
| 11:12 |
Now if their falltrespass ismeans the riches offor the world and if their lossfailure themeans riches offor the Gentiles; how much more will their fulnessfull inclusion mean |
| 11:13 |
ButNow I speakam speaking to you that are Gentiles Inasmuch then as I am an apostle ofto the Gentiles I glorifymagnify my ministry; |
| 11:14 |
ifin byorder any means I may provoke to jealousymake themmy thatfellow areJews myjealous flesh and maythus save some of them |
| 11:15 |
For if thetheir castingrejection awaymeans of them is the reconcilingreconciliation of the world what shallwill thetheir receivingacceptance ofmean them be but life from the dead |
| 11:16 |
AndIf if the dough offered as first fruitfruits is holy so is the whole lump:; and if the root is holy so are the branches |
| 11:17 |
But if some of the branches were broken off and thouyou being a wild olive wastshoot were grafted in amongtheir themplace andto didstshare become partaker with them of the rootrichness of the fatness of the olive tree; |
| 11:18 |
glorydo not boast over the branches: butIf ifyou thoudo gloriestboast remember it is not thouyou that bearestsupport the root but the root theethat supports you |
| 11:19 |
ThouYou wiltwill say then Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in |
| 11:20 |
Well; That byis theirtrue unbeliefThey they were broken off andbecause thouof standesttheir byunbelief thybut you stand fast only through faith BeSo do not highmindedbecome proud but fear:stand in awe |
| 11:21 |
forFor if God spareddid not spare the natural branches neither will he spare theeyou |
| 11:22 |
BeholdNote then the goodnesskindness and the severity of God: severity toward themthose thatwho fellhave severity;fallen but towardGods theekindness Godsto goodnessyou ifprovided thouyou continue in his goodness:kindness; otherwise thouyou alsotoo shaltwill be cut off |
| 11:23 |
And theyeven alsothe others if they continuedo not persist in their unbelief shallwill be grafted in: for God ishas ablethe power to graft them in again |
| 11:24 |
For if thouyou wasthave been cut outfrom ofwhat that which is by nature a wild olive tree and wast grafted contrary to nature into a goodcultivated olive tree; how much more shallwill these which are the natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree |
| 11:25 |
ForLest Iyou wouldbe notwise brethrenin haveyour youown ignorantconceits ofI thiswant mysteryyou lestto yeunderstand bethis wisemystery inbrethren: youra ownhardening conceitshas thatcome aupon hardening in part hathof befallen Israel until the fulnessfull number of the Gentiles be come in; |
| 11:26 |
and so all Israel shallwill be saved:; even as it is written ThereThe shallDeliverer will come outfrom of Zion thehe Deliverer;will Hebanish shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:; |
| 11:27 |
Andand this iswill be my covenant untowith them Whenwhen I shall take away their sins |
| 11:28 |
As touchingregards the gospel they are enemies of God for your sake:; but as touchingregards the election they are beloved for the fathers sake of their forefathers |
| 11:29 |
For the gifts and the callingcall of God are notirrevocable repented of |
| 11:30 |
ForJust as yeyou inwere timeonce past were disobedient to God but now have obtainedreceived mercy bybecause of their disobedience |
| 11:31 |
even so they have these also now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may nowreceive obtain mercy |
| 11:32 |
For God hathhas shutconsigned up all untomen to disobedience that he mightmay have mercy upon all |
| 11:33 |
O the depth of the riches bothand of the wisdom and the knowledge of God howHow unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways past tracing out |
| 11:34 |
For who hathhas known the mind of the Lord or who hathhas been his counsellor counselor |
| 11:35 |
orOr who hathhas first given a gift to him andthat ithe shallmight be recompensed unto him again repaid |
| 11:36 |
For offrom him and through him and untoto him are all things To him be the glory for ever Amen |
| 12:1 |
I beseechappeal to you therefore brethren by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual serviceworship |
| 12:2 |
AndDo be not fashionedbe accordingconformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewingrenewal of your mind that yeyou may prove what is the will of God what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God |
| 12:3 |
For Iby say through the grace thatgiven wasto given me toI bid every manone that is among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but so to think aswith tosober thinkjudgment soberlyeach according asto Godthe hathmeasure dealtof tofaith eachwhich manGod ahas measureassigned ofhim faith |
| 12:4 |
For even as in one body we have many members in one body and all the members havedo not have the same office:function |
| 12:5 |
so we whothough are many are one body in Christ and severallyindividually members one of another |
| 12:6 |
AndHaving having gifts differingthat differ according to the grace that was given to us whether prophecy let us prophesyuse accordingthem: toif theprophecy in proportion ofto our faith; |

Let every soulperson be insubject subjection to the highergoverning powers:authorities forFor there is no powerauthority butexcept offrom God; and thethose powers that beexist arehave ordainedbeen ofinstituted by God |

He thatwho regardethobserves the day regardethobserves it untoin honor of the Lord: andHe healso thatwho eatetheats eatetheats untoin honor of the Lord forsince he givethgives thanks to God thanks; andwhile he thatwho eatethabstains notabstains untoin honor of the Lord heand eatethgives notthanks andto giveth God thanks |
| 14:7 |
ForNone none of us livethlives to himself and none diethof us dies to himself |
| 14:8 |
ForIf whether we live we live untoto the Lord; orand whetherif we die we die untoto the Lord:; so then whether we live therefore or whether we die we are the Lords |
| 14:9 |
For to this end Christ died and lived again that he might be Lord both of both the dead and of the living |
| 14:10 |
ButWhy thoudo whyyou dostpass thoujudgment judgeon thyyour brother orOr thouyou again why dostdo thouyou setdespise atyour nought thy brother forFor we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God; |
| 14:11 |
Forfor it is written As I live saithsays the Lord to me every knee shall bow Andto me and every tongue shall confessgive praise to God |
| 14:12 |
So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God |
| 14:13 |
LetThen let us notno thereforemore judgepass judgment on one another any more: but judge ye this rather thatdecide nonever manto put a stumblingblockstumbling inblock hisor brothershindrance wayin orthe anway occasion of fallinga brother |
| 14:14 |
I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean ofin itself:; savebut thatit tois himunclean whofor accountethany anythingone towho bethinks unclean to him it is unclean |
| 14:15 |
ForIf ifyour becausebrother ofis meatbeing thyinjured brotherby iswhat grievedyou thoueat walkestyou are no longer walking in love DestroyDo not withlet thywhat meatyou himeat cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died |
| 14:16 |
LetSo do not thenlet your good be evil spoken of: as evil |
| 14:17 |
forFor the kingdom of God is not eatingfood and drinkingdrink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit; |
| 14:18 |
For he thatwho hereinthus servethserves Christ is wellacceptable pleasing to God and approved ofby men |
| 14:19 |
SoLet then let us followthen afterpursue thingswhat whichmakes make for peace and thingsfor wherebymutual weupbuilding may edify one another |
| 14:20 |
OverthrowDo not for meatsthe sake of food destroy the work of God AllEverything thingsis indeed are clean; howbeitbut it is evilwrong for thatany manone whoto eatethmake withothers offencefall by what he eats; |
| 14:21 |
Itit is goodright not to eat fleshmeat noror to drink wine noror to do anything wherebythat thymakes your brother stumblethstumble |
| 14:22 |
The faith whichthat thouyou hast have thoukeep tobetween thyselfyourself beforeand God; Happyhappy is he thatwho judgethhas notno reason to judge himself infor thatwhat which he approvethapproves |
| 14:23 |
But he thatwho doubtethhas doubts is condemned if he eateats because he eatethdoes not ofact from faith; andfor whatsoeverwhatever isdoes not ofproceed from faith is sin |
| 15:1 |
NowWe wewho that are strong ought to bear with the infirmitiesfailings of the weak and not to please ourselves; |
| 15:2 |
Letlet each one of us please his neighbor for thathis whichgood isto goodedify untohim edifying |
| 15:3 |
For Christ alsodid pleased not please himself; but as it is written The reproaches of themthose thatwho reproached thee fell uponon me |
| 15:4 |
For whatsoeverwhatever thingswas were written aforetimein wereformer days was written for our learninginstruction that throughby patiencesteadfastness and throughby comfortthe encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope |
| 15:5 |
NowMay the God of patiencesteadfastness and ofencouragement comfort grant you to belive ofin thesuch sameharmony mindwith one with another accordingin toaccord with Christ Jesus: |
| 15:6 |
that withtogether oneyou accord ye may with one mouthvoice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ |
| 15:7 |
WhereforeWelcome receive ye one another eventherefore as Christ alsohas receivedwelcomed you tofor the glory of God |
| 15:8 |

| 15:9 |
and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; asAs it is written Therefore will I givewill praise unto thee among the Gentiles Andand sing untoto thy name; |
| 15:10 |
Andand again heit saithis said Rejoice yeO Gentiles with his people; |
| 15:11 |
Andand again Praise the Lord all ye Gentiles; Andand let all the peoples praise him; |
| 15:12 |
Andand againfurther Isaiah saithsays ThereThe shall be the root of Jesse Andshall come he thatwho arisethrises to rule over the Gentiles; Onin him shall the Gentiles hope |
