8:36 And theythose thatwho sawhad seen it told them how he thatwho washad been possessed with demons was madehealed whole
8:37 AndThen all the people of the surrounding country of the GerasenesGer′asenes round about asked him to depart from them; for they were holdenseized with great fear:; andso he enteredgot into athe boat and returned
8:38 ButThe the man from whom the demons werehad gone outbegged prayed him that he might be with him:; but he sent him away saying
8:39 Return to thyyour househome and declare how greatmuch things God hathhas done for theeyou And he went hisaway wayproclaiming publishing throughout the whole city how greatmuch things Jesus had done for him
8:40 AndNow aswhen Jesus returned the multitudecrowd welcomed him; for they were all waiting for him
8:41 And behold there came a man named JairusJa′irus andwho he was a ruler of the synagogue:; and hefalling fell down at Jesus feet andhe besought him to come intoto his house;

8:49 While he yetwas spakestill therespeaking cometha oneman from the rulerrulers ofhouse thecame synagoguesand housesaid sayingYour Thy daughter is dead; troubledo not trouble the Teacher any more
8:50 But Jesus on hearing itthis answered him FearDo not: fear; only believe and she shall be madewell whole
8:51 And when he came to the house he sufferedpermitted notno anyone man to enter in with him saveexcept Peter and John and James and the father and mother of the maidenchild and her mother
8:52 And all were weeping and bewailing her:; but he said WeepDo not weep; for she is not dead but sleepethsleeping
8:53 And they laughed at him to scorn knowing that she was dead
8:54 But he taking her by the hand he called saying MaidenChild arise
8:55 And her spirit returned and she rosegot up immediately:at once; and he commandeddirected that something should be given her to eat
8:56 And her parents were amazed:; but he charged them to tell no manone what had been donehappened
9:2 Andand he sent them forthout to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick
9:3 And he said untoto them Take nothing for your journey neitherno staff nor walletbag nor bread nor money; neitherand do not have two coatstunics
9:4 And intowhatever whatsoever house yeyou enter stay there abide and thencefrom there depart
9:5 And aswherever manythey asdo not receive you not when yeyou departleave from that citytown shake off the dust from your feet foras a testimony against them
9:6 And they departed and went throughoutthrough the villages preaching the gospel and healing everywhere
9:7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done: and he was much perplexed because that it was said by some that John washad risenbeen raised from the dead;
9:8 and by some that ElijahEli′jah had appeared; and by others that one of the old prophets washad risen again
9:9 And Herod said John I beheaded:; but who is this about whom I hear such things And he sought to see him
9:10 AndOn their return the apostles whentold they were returned declared unto him what things they had done And he took them and withdrew apart to a city called BethsaidaBeth sa′ida

9:23 And he said untoto all If any man would come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me
9:24 For whosoeverwhoever would save his life shallwill lose it; butand whosoeverwhoever shallloses lose his life for my sake thehe samewill shall save it
9:25 For what isdoes it profit a man profited if he gaingains the whole world and loseloses or forfeitforfeits hishimself own self
9:26 For whosoeverwhoever shallis be ashamed of me and of my words of him shallwill the Son of man be ashamed when he comethcomes in his own glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels

9:30 And behold theretwo men talked with him two men who were Moses and Elijah;Eli′jah
9:31 who appeared in glory and spakespoke of his deceasedeparture which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem
9:32 Now Peter and theythose thatwho were with him were heavy with sleep: butand when they werewakened fully awake they saw his glory and the two men thatwho stood with him
9:33 And itas camethe tomen pass as they were parting from him Peter said untoto Jesus Master it is goodwell forthat uswe toare be here:; and let us make three tabernacles;booths one for theeyou and one for Moses and one for Elijah: Eli′jah—not knowing what he said
9:34 AndAs while he said thesethis thingsa therecloud came a cloud and overshadowed them:; and they fearedwere afraid as they entered into the cloud
9:35 And a voice came out of the cloud saying This is my Son my chosen:Chosen; hearlisten yeto him
9:36 And when the voice camehad spoken Jesus was found alone And they heldkept theirsilence peace and told no manone in those days anyanything of thewhat things which they had seen
9:37 AndOn it came to pass on the next day when they werehad come down from the mountain a great multitudecrowd met him
9:38 And behold a man from the multitudecrowd cried saying Teacher I beseechbeg theeyou to look upon my son; for he is minemy only child:;
9:39 and behold a spirit takethseizes him and he suddenly criethcries out; and it tearethconvulses him thattill he foamethfoams and itshatters hardlyhim departethand fromwill himhardly bruisingleave him sorely
9:40 And I besoughtbegged thyyour disciples to cast it out; andbut they could not
9:41 And Jesus answered and said O faithless and perverse generation how long shallam I to be with you and bear with you bringBring hitheryour thy son here
9:42 AndWhile as he was yet a coming the demon dashedtore him down and tareconvulsed him grievously But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy and gave him back to his father
9:43 And theyall were all astonished at the majesty of God But while allthey were marvelling at all themarveling thingsat whicheverything he did he said untoto his disciples
9:44 Let these words sink into your ears:; for the Son of man shallis to be delivered up into the hands of men
9:45 But they understooddid not understand this saying and it was concealed from them that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying
9:46 And therean argument arose a reasoning among them as to which of them was the greatest
9:47 But when Jesus sawperceived the reasoningthought of their hearthearts he took a little child and setput him by his side
9:48 and said untoto them WhosoeverWhoever shallreceives receive this little child in my name receivethreceives me: and whosoeverwhoever shallreceives receive me receivethreceives him thatwho sent me:; for he thatwho is least among you all is the sameone who is great
9:49 And John answered and said Master we saw onea man casting out demons in thyyour name; and we forbade him because he followethdoes not follow with us
9:50 But Jesus said untoto him ForbidDo not forbid him; not: for he that is not against you is for you
9:51 AndWhen it came to pass when the days weredrew wellnear nighfor comehim thatto he should be received up he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem
9:52 andAnd he sent messengers beforeahead hisof face:him andwho they went and entered into a village of the Samaritans to make ready for him;
9:53 Andbut theythe didpeople would not receive him because his face was asset thoughtoward he were going to Jerusalem
9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw thisit they said Lord wiltdo thouyou thatwant weus to bid fire to come down from heaven and consume them
9:56 And they went on to another village
9:57 AndAs as they wentwere ongoing along the wayroad a certain man said untoto him I will follow theeyou whithersoeverwherever thouyou goestgo
9:58 And Jesus said untoto him TheFoxes foxes have holes and the birds of the heavenair have nests; but the Son of man hathhas notnowhere where to lay his head
9:59 AndTo another he said unto another Follow me But he said Lord sufferlet me first to go and bury my father
9:60 But he said untoto him Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you go thou and publishproclaim abroad the kingdom of God
9:61 AndAnother another also said I will follow theeyou Lord; but firstlet suffer me tofirst bidsay farewell to themthose that are at my househome
9:62 But Jesus said untoto him No manone havingwho putputs his hand to the plow and lookinglooks back is fit for the kingdom of God
10:1 NowAfter afterthis these things the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them twoon andahead of him two beforeby histwo face into every citytown and place whitherwhere he himself was about to come
10:2 And he said untoto them The harvest indeed is plenteousplentiful but the laborers are few:; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest thatto he send forthout laborers into his harvest
10:3 Go your waysway; behold I send you forthout as lambs in the midst of wolves
10:4 Carry no purse no walletbag no shoessandals; and salute no manone on the wayroad
10:5 AndWhatever into whatsoever house yeyou shall enter first say Peace be to this house
10:6 And if a son of peace beis there your peace shall rest upon him:; but if not it shall turnreturn to you again
10:7 And remain in thatthe same house remain eating and drinking suchwhat things as they give:provide for the laborer isdeserves worthy of his hirewages; Godo not go from house to house
10:8 AndWhenever intoyou whatsoeverenter citya yetown enter and they receive you eat suchwhat thingsis as are set before you:;
10:9 and heal the sick thatin areit therein and say untoto them The kingdom of God ishas come nighnear untoto you
10:10 But intowhenever whatsoeveryou cityenter yea shalltown enter and they do not receive you not go out into theits streets thereof and say
10:11 Even the dust fromof your citytown that cleavethclings to our feet we wipe off against you:; nevertheless know this that the kingdom of God ishas come nighnear
10:12 I saytell unto you Itit shall be more tolerable inon that day for Sodom than for that city town
10:13 Woe untoto theeyou ChorazinChora′zin woe untoto theeyou BethsaidaBeth sa′ida for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you they would have repented long ago sitting in sackcloth and ashes
10:14 But it shall be more tolerable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you
10:15 And thouyou CapernaumCaper′na shaltum thouwill you be exalted untoto heaven thouYou shaltshall be brought down untoto Hades
10:16 He thatwho hearethhears you hearethhears me; and he thatwho rejectethrejects you rejectethrejects me; and he thatwho rejectethrejects me rejectethrejects him thatwho sent me
10:17 AndThe the seventy returned with joy saying Lord even the demons are subject untoto us in thyyour name
10:18 And he said untoto them I beheldsaw Satan fallenfall aslike lightning from heaven
10:19 Behold I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy:; and nothing shall in any wise hurt you
10:20 Nevertheless indo thisnot rejoice notin this that the spirits are subject untoto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven
10:21 In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said I thank thee O Father Lord of heaven and earth that thou didsthast hidehidden these things from the wise and understanding and didstrevealed reveal them untoto babes:; yea Father; for sosuch it was wellthy pleasinggracious inwill thy sight
10:22 All things have been delivered untoto me ofby my Father:; and no one knowethknows who the Son is saveexcept the Father; andor who the Father is saveexcept the Son and heany one to whomsoeverwhom the Son willethchooses to reveal him
10:23 AndThen turning to the disciples he said privately Blessed are the eyes which see thewhat thingsyou that ye see:
10:24 forFor I saytell unto you that many prophets and kings desired to see thewhat thingsyou which ye see and sawdid them not; see it and to hear thewhat thingsyou which ye hear and hearddid themnot nothear it
10:25 And behold a certain lawyer stood up andto madeput trialhim ofto himthe test saying Teacher what shall I do to inherit eternal life
10:26 AndHe he said untoto him What is written in the law howHow readestdo thouyou read
10:27 And he answeringanswered saidYou Thoushall shalt love the Lord thyyour God with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul and with all thyyour strength and with all thyyour mind; and thyyour neighbor as thyselfyourself
10:28 And he said untoto him ThouYou hasthave answered right:; do this do and thouyou shaltwill live
10:29 But he desiring to justify himself said untoto Jesus And who is my neighbor
10:30 Jesus madereplied answer and said A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers who both stripped him and beat him and departed leaving him half dead
10:31 AndNow by chance a certain priest was going down that way:road; and when he saw him he passed by on the other side
10:32 AndSo inlikewise like manner a Levite also when he came to the place and saw him passed by on the other side
10:33 But a certain Samaritan as he journeyed came to where he was:; and when he saw him he washad moved with compassion
10:34 and camewent to him and bound up his wounds pouring on them oil and wine; andthen he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him
10:35 And on the morrownext day he took out two shillingsdenarii and gave them to the hostinnkeeper andsaying said Take care of him; and whatsoeverwhatever thoumore spendestyou morespend I will repay you when I come back again will repay thee
10:36 Which of these three thinkestdo thouyou think proved neighbor untoto himthe thatman who fell among the robbers
10:37 AndHe he said HeThe thatone who showed mercy on him And Jesus said untoto him Go and do thou likewise
10:38 Now as they went on their way he entered into a certain village:; and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house
10:39 And she had a sister called Mary who also sat at the Lords feet and heardlistened to his wordteaching
10:40 But Martha was cumbereddistracted aboutwith much serving; and she camewent up to him and said Lord dostdo thouyou not care that my sister didhas leaveleft me to serve alone bidTell her thereforethen thatto she help me
10:41 But the Lord answered and said unto her Martha Martha thouyou artare anxious and troubled about many things:;
10:42 but one thing is needful: for Mary hathhas chosen the good partportion which shall not be taken away from her
11:1 AndHe it came to pass as he was praying in a certain place thatand when he ceased one of his disciples said untoto him Lord teach us to pray even as John also taught his disciples
11:2 And he said untoto them When yeyou pray say: Father Hallowedhallowed be thy name Thy kingdom come
11:3 Give us dayeach by day our daily bread;
11:4 Andand forgive us our sins; for we ourselves also forgive every one thatwho is indebted to us; Andand bringlead us not into temptation
11:5 And he said untoto them Which of you shallwho havehas a friend andwill shall go untoto him at midnight and say to him Friend lend me three loaves;
11:6 for a friend of mine ishas comearrived toon me from a journey and I have nothing to set before him;
11:7 and he will answer from within shallDo answernot andbother say Trouble me; not: the door is now shut and my children are with me in bed; I cannot riseget up and give theeyou anything
11:8 I saytell unto you Thoughthough he will not riseget up and give him anything because he is his friend yet because of his importunity he will ariserise and give him aswhatever many as he needethneeds

11:11 AndWhat offather whichamong of you thatif is a father shall his son askasks afor loaf and he give him a stone or a fish andwill heinstead forof a fish give him a serpent;
11:12 Oror if he shallasks askfor an egg will he give him a scorpion
11:13 If yeyou then beingwho are evil know how to give good gifts untoto your children how much more shallwill yourthe heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to themthose thatwho ask him
11:14 AndNow he was casting out a demon that was dumb; And it came to pass when the demon washad gone out the dumb man spake;spoke and the multitudespeople marvelledmarveled
11:15 But some of them said ByHe Beelzebubcasts theout princedemons ofby theBe demonsel′zebul casteththe heprince outof demons;
11:16 Andwhile others tryingto test him sought offrom him a sign from heaven
11:17 But he knowing their thoughts said untoto them Every kingdom divided against itself is broughtlaid towaste desolation; and a house divided againsthousehold afalls house falleth
11:18 And if Satan also is divided against himself how shallwill his kingdom stand becauseFor yeyou say that I cast out demons by BeelzebubBe el′zebul
11:19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons by Be el′zebul by whom do your sons cast them out thereforeTherefore they shall they be your judges
11:20 But if Iit is by the finger of God that I cast out demons then is the kingdom of God has come upon you
11:21 When thea strong man fully armed guardethguards his own courtpalace his goods are in peace:;
11:22 but when aone stronger than he shallassails come upon him and overcomeovercomes him he takethtakes fromaway him his whole armor whereinin which he trusted and dividethdivides his spoilsspoil
11:23 He thatwho is not with me is against me; and he thatwho gatherethdoes not gather with me scattereth scatters

11:25 And when he iscomes come he findethfinds it swept and garnishedput in order
11:26 Then goeth he goes and takethbrings to him seven other spirits more evil than himself; and they enter in and dwell there:; and the last state of that man becomethbecomes worse than the first
11:27 AndAs it came to pass as he said thesethis things a certain woman outin of the multitudecrowd liftedraised up her voice and said untoto him Blessed is the womb that barebore theeyou and the breasts whichthat thouyou didstsucked suck
11:28 But he said YeaBlessed rather blessed are theythose thatwho hear the word of God and keep it
11:29 AndWhen when the multitudescrowds were gatheringincreasing together unto him he began to say This generation is an evil generation:; it seekethseeks after a sign; andbut there shall no sign shall be given to it butexcept the sign of Jonah
11:30 For even as Jonah became a sign untoto the Ninevitesmen of Nin′eveh so shallwill also the Son of man be to this generation
11:31 The queen of the southSouth shallwill risearise upat in the judgment with the men of this generation and shall condemn them:; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold asomething greater than Solomon is here

11:33 No manone whenafter helighting hath lighted a lamp puttethputs it in a cellar neitheror under thea bushel but on thea stand that theythose whichwho enter in may see the light
11:34 TheYour eye is the lamp of thyyour body; is thine eye: when thineyour eye is singlesound thyyour whole body also is full of light; but when it is evilnot thysound your body also is full of darkness
11:35 LookTherefore thereforebe whethercareful lest the light that is in theeyou be not darkness
11:36 If thereforethen thyyour whole body beis full of light having no part dark it shallwill be wholly fullbright of light as when thea lamp with its brightrays shininggives dothyou give thee light
11:37 NowWhile as he spakewas speaking a Pharisee askethasked him to dine with him:; andso he went in and sat downat totable meat
11:38 AndThe when the Pharisee sawwas itastonished heto marvelledsee that he haddid not first bathedwash himself before dinner
11:39 And the Lord said untoto him Now yeyou the Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter;dish but yourinside inwardyou partare is full of extortion and wickedness
11:40 YeYou foolishfools onesDid did not he thatwho made the outside make the inside also
11:41 But give for alms those things which are within; and behold alleverything thingsis are clean untofor you
11:42 But woe untoto you Pharisees for yeyou tithe mint and rue and every herb and passneglect over justice and the love of God:; but these you ought ye to have done andwithout notneglecting to leave the otherothers undone
11:43 Woe untoto you Pharisees for yeyou love the chiefbest seatsseat in the synagogues and the salutations in the marketplacesmarket places
11:44 Woe untoto you for yeyou are aslike thegraves tombs which appearare not seen and the men that walk over them knowwithout knowing it not
11:45 AndOne one of the lawyers answeringanswered saith unto him Teacher in saying this thouyou reproachestreproach us also
11:46 And he said Woe untoto you lawyers also for yeyou load men with burdens grievoushard to bebear borne and yeyou yourselves touchdo not touch the burdens with one of your fingers
11:47 Woe untoto you for yeyou build the tombs of the prophets andwhom your fathers killed them
11:48 So yeyou are witnesses and consent untoto the worksdeeds of your fathers:; for they killed them and yeyou build their tombs
11:49 Therefore also said the wisdomWisdom of God said I will send unto them prophets and apostles; and some of themwhom they shallwill kill and persecute;
11:50 that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation;

11:54 layinglying in wait for him to catch at something outhe ofmight his mouthsay
12:1 In the meanmeantime time when theso many thousands of the multitude werehad gathered together insomuch that they trod upon one upon another he began to say untoto his disciples first of all Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy
12:2 ButNothing there is nothing covered up that shallwill not be revealed; andor hidhidden that shallwill not be known

13:16 And ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound lofor these eighteen years tobe have been loosed from this bond on the sabbath day of the sabbath
13:17 AndAs as he said thesethis things all his adversaries were put to shame:; and all the multitudepeople rejoiced forat all the glorious things that were done by him
13:18 He said therefore UntoWhat what is the kingdom of God like andAnd whereuntoto what shall I likencompare it
13:19 It is like unto a grain of mustard seed which a man took and castsowed intoin his own garden; and it grew and became a tree; and the birds of the heavenair lodgedmade nests in theits branches thereof
13:20 And again he said WhereuntoTo what shall I likencompare the kingdom of God
13:21 It is like unto leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of mealflour till it was all leavened
13:22 AndHe he went on his way through citiestowns and villages teaching and journeying ontoward unto Jerusalem
13:23 And some one said untoto him Lord arewill theythose fewwho that are saved be few And he said untoto them
13:24 Strive to enter in by the narrow door:; for many I saytell unto you shallwill seek to enter in and shallwill not be able
13:25 When once the masterhouseholder ofhas the house is risen up and hath shut to the door andyou yewill begin to stand withoutoutside and to knock at the door saying Lord open to us; andHe hewill shall answer andyou sayI todo younot I know where you notcome whencefrom ye are;
13:26 thenThen shallyou yewill begin to say We didate eat and drinkdrank in thyyour presence and thouyou didsttaught teach in our streets;
13:27 andBut he shallwill say I tell you I knowdo not whenceknow yewhere areyou come from; depart from me all yeyou workers of iniquity
13:28 There shallyou bewill theweep weeping and thegnash gnashingyour of teeth when yeyou shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves castthrust forthout without
13:29 And theymen shallwill come from the east and west and from the north and south and shall sit downat table in the kingdom of God
13:30 And behold theresome are last who shallwill be first and theresome are first who shallwill be last
13:31 InAt that very hour theresome Pharisees came certainand Phariseessaid saying to him Get theeaway outfrom andhere go hence: for Herod wouldwants fainto kill theeyou
13:32 And he said untoto them Go and saytell to that fox Behold I cast out demons and perform cures totoday day and totomorrow morrow and the third day I amfinish perfectedmy course
13:33 Nevertheless I must go on my way totoday day and totomorrow morrow and the day following:; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outaway offrom Jerusalem
13:34 O Jerusalem Jerusalem thatkilling killeth the prophets and stonethstoning themthose thatwho are sent untoto heryou howHow often would I have gathered thyyour children together even as a hen gatherethgathers her own brood under her wings and yeyou would not
13:35 Behold your house is leftforsaken untoAnd you desolate: and I saytell untoyou you Yewill shall not see me until yeyou shall say Blessed is he thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord
14:1 AndOne itsabbath came to pass when he went intoto dine at the house of onea ofruler thewho rulersbelonged ofto the Pharisees on a sabbath to eat bread that they were watching him
14:2 And behold there was a man before him awho certain man that had the dropsy
14:3 And Jesus answeringspoke spaketo unto the lawyers and Pharisees saying Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath or not
14:4 But they heldwere theirsilent peaceThen And he took him and healed him and let him go
14:5 And he said untoto them Which of you shallhaving havea anson ass or an ox that has fallen into a well and will not straightwayimmediately drawpull him upout on a sabbath day
14:6 And they could not answerreply againto unto these thingsthis
14:7 AndNow he spaketold a parable untoto those thatwho were biddeninvited when he marked how they chose out the chiefplaces seats;of honor saying untoto them
14:8 When thouyou artare biddeninvited ofby any manone to a marriage feast sitdo not sit down in thea chiefplace seat;of honor lest haply a more honorableeminent man than thouyou be biddeninvited ofby him;
14:9 and he thatwho badeinvited theeyou andboth himwill shall come and say to theeyou Give place to this man place; and then thouyou shaltwill begin with shame to take the lowest place
14:10 But when thouyou artare biddeninvited go and sit down in the lowest place; so that when heyour thathost hathcomes bidden thee cometh he may say to theeyou Friend go up higher:; then shaltyou thouwill havebe gloryhonored in the presence of all thatwho sit at meattable with theeyou
14:11 For every one thatwho exaltethexalts himself shallwill be humbled; and he thatwho humblethhumbles himself shallwill be exalted
14:12 AndHe he said also to himthe alsoman thatwho had biddeninvited him When thouyou makestgive a dinner or a supperbanquet calldo not thyinvite your friends noror thyyour brethrenbrothers noror thyyour kinsmen noror rich neighbors; lest haply they also bidinvite theeyou againin return and ayou recompense be maderepaid thee
14:13 But when thouyou makestgive a feast bidinvite the poor the maimed the lame the blind:
14:14 and thouyou shaltwill be blessed; because they havecannot notrepay wherewithyou toYou recompensewill thee: for thou shalt be recompensedrepaid inat the resurrection of the just
14:15 AndWhen when one of themthose thatwho sat at meattable with him heard thesethis things he said untoto him Blessed is he thatwho shall eat bread in the kingdom of God
14:16 But he said untoto him A certain man madeonce gave a great supper;banquet and heinvited bade many:;
14:17 and at the time for the banquet he sent forth his servant at supper time to say to themthose thatwho werehad biddenbeen invited Come; for all thingsis are now ready
14:18 AndBut they all withalike one consent began to make excuseexcuses The first said untoto him I have bought a field and I must needs go out and see it; I pray theeyou have me excused
14:19 And another said I have bought five yoke of oxen and I go to proveexamine them; I pray theeyou have me excused
14:21 AndSo the servant came and toldreported histhis lordto thesehis thingsmaster Then the masterhouseholder ofin theanger house being angry said to his servant Go out quickly intoto the streets and lanes of the city and bring in hither the poor and maimed and blind and lame
14:22 And the servant said LordSir what thouyou didstcommanded commandhas isbeen done and yetstill there is room
14:23 And the lordmaster said untoto the servant Go out intoto the highways and hedges and constraincompel thempeople to come in that my house may be filled
14:24 For I saytell unto you that none of those men thatwho were biddeninvited shall taste of my supperbanquet
14:25 Now theregreat wentmultitudes withaccompanied him; great multitudes: and he turned and said untoto them
14:26 If any manone comethcomes untoto me and hatethdoes not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brethrenbrothers and sisters yeayes and even his own life also he cannot be my disciple
14:27 WhosoeverWhoever dothdoes not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple
14:28 For which of you desiring to build a tower dothdoes not first sit down and count the cost whether he havehas wherewithenough to complete it
14:29 LestOtherwise haply when he hathhas laid a foundation and is not able to finish all thatwho beholdsee it begin to mock him
14:31 Or what king asgoing he goeth to encounter another king in war will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him thatwho comethcomes against him with twenty thousand
14:32 OrAnd elseif not while the other is yet a great way off he sendethsends an ambassageembassy and askethasks conditionsterms of peace
14:33 So therefore whosoeverwhoever he be of you thatdoes renounceth not renounce all that he hathhas he cannot be my disciple
14:34 Salt therefore is good:; but if even the salt havehas lost its savortaste wherewithhow shall itits saltness be seasonedrestored
14:35 It is fit neither for the land nor for the dunghill:; men castthrow it outaway He thatwho hathhas ears to hear let him hear
15:1 Now all the publicanstax collectors and sinners were all drawing near unto him to hear him
15:2 And both the Pharisees and the scribes murmured saying This man receivethreceives sinners and eatetheats with them
15:3 AndSo he spaketold unto them this parable: saying
15:4 What man of you having a hundred sheep andif havinghe has lost one of them dothdoes not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after thatthe one which is lost until he findfinds it
15:5 And when he hathhas found it he layethlays it on his shoulders rejoicing
15:6 And when he comethcomes home he callethcalls together his friends and his neighbors saying untoto them Rejoice with me for I have found my sheep which was lost
15:7 Just so I saytell unto you that even so there shallwill be more joy in heaven over one sinner thatwho repentethrepents more than over ninety and nine righteous persons who need no repentance
15:8 Or what woman having ten piecessilver ofcoins silver if she loseloses one piececoin dothdoes not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she findfinds it
15:9 And when she hathhas found it she callethcalls together her friends and neighbors saying Rejoice with me for I have found the piececoin which I had lost
15:10 EvenJust so I saytell unto you there is joy inbefore the presence of the angels of God over one sinner thatwho repentethrepents
15:11 And he said AThere certainwas a man who had two sons:;
15:12 and the younger of them said to his father Father give me the portionshare of thyproperty substance that fallethfalls to me And he divided unto them his living between them
15:13 AndNot not many days afterlater the younger son gathered all togetherhe had and took his journey into a far country; and there he wastedsquandered his substanceproperty within riotousloose living
15:14 And when he had spent alleverything there arose a mightygreat famine arose in that country; and he began to be in want
15:15 AndSo he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country; andwho he sent him into his fields to feed swine
15:16 And he would faingladly have filledfed hison belly with the huskspods that the swine didate; eat: and no manone gave unto him anything
15:17 But when he came to himself he said How many hired servants of my fathers hired servants have bread enough and to spare andbut I perish here with hunger
15:18 I will arise and go to my father and I will say untoto him Father I have sinned against heaven and inbefore thyyou; sight:
15:19 I am no morelonger worthy to be called thyyour son:; maketreat me as one of thyyour hired servants
15:20 And he arose and came to his father But while he was yet afarat offa distance his father saw him and washad moved with compassion and ran and fellembraced onhim his neck and kissed him
15:21 And the son said untoto him Father I have sinned against heaven and inbefore thyyou; sight: I am no morelonger worthy to be called thyyour son
15:22 But the father said to his servants Bring forth quickly the best robe and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet:;
15:23 and bring the fatted calf and kill it and let us eat and make merry:;
15:24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found And they began to bemake merry
15:25 Now his elder son was in the field:; and as he came and drew nighnear to the house he heard music and dancing
15:26 And he called to him one of the servants and inquiredasked what thesethis thingsmeant might be
15:27 And he said untoto him ThyYour brother ishas come; and thyyour father hathhas killed the fatted calf because he hathhas received him safe and sound
15:28 But he was angry and wouldrefused notto go in: andHis his father came out and entreated him
15:29 Butbut he answered and said to his father Lo these many years do I servehave theeserved you and I never transgresseddisobeyed ayour commandment of thinecommand; and yet thouyou never gavestgave me a kid that I might make merry with my friends:
15:30 butBut when this thy son of yours came who hathhas devoured thyyour living with harlots thouyou killedstkilled for him the fatted calf
15:31 And he said untoto him Son thouyou artare everalways with me and all that is mine is thineyours
15:32 ButIt it was meetfitting to make merry and be glad: for this thyyour brother was dead and is alive again; andhe was lost and is found
16:1 AndHe healso said alsoto unto the disciples There was a certain rich man who had a steward; and thecharges samewere wasbrought accusedto unto him that hethis man was wasting his goods
16:2 And he called him and said untoto him What is this that I hear ofabout theeyou renderTurn in the account of thyyour stewardship; for thouyou canstcan be no longer be steward
16:3 And the steward said withinto himself What shall I do seeingsince that my lordmaster takethis awaytaking the stewardship away from me I haveam not strengthstrong enough to dig; toand beg I am ashamed to beg
16:4 I amhave resolveddecided what to do so that people may receive me into their houses when I am put out of the stewardship they may receive me into their houses
16:5 AndSo callingsummoning tohis himmasters eachdebtors one ofby hisone lords debtors he said to the first How much owestdo thouyou untoowe my lordmaster
16:6 AndHe he said A hundred measures of oil And he said untoto him Take thyyour bondbill and sit down quickly and write fifty
16:7 Then he said he to another And how much owestdo thouyou Andowe heHe said A hundred measures of wheat He saithsaid untoto him Take thyyour bondbill and write fourscoreeighty
16:8 AndThe hismaster lord commended the unrighteousdishonest steward becausefor hehis hadshrewdness; done wisely: for the sons of this world are formore shrewd in dealing with their own generation wiser than the sons of the light
16:9 And I saytell unto you Makemake tofriends for yourselves friends by means of theunrighteous mammon ofso unrighteousness; that when it shallfails fail they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles habitations
16:10 He thatwho is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much:; and he thatwho is unrighteousdishonest in a very little is unrighteousdishonest also in much
16:11 If thereforethen yeyou have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon who will commitentrust to youryou trust the true riches
16:12 And if yeyou have not been faithful in that which is anothers who will give you that which is your own
16:13 No servant can serve two masters:; for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will holdbe devoted to the one and despise the other YeYou cannot serve God and mammon
16:14 AndThe the Pharisees who were lovers of money heard all thesethis things; and they scoffed at him
16:15 AndBut he said untoto them YeYou are theythose thatwho justify yourselves inbefore the sight of men; but God knowethknows your hearts:; for thatwhat which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God
16:16 The law and the prophets were until John:; fromsince thatthen time the gospelgood news of the kingdom of God is preached and every manone enterethenters it violently into it
16:17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittledot of the law to fallbecome void
16:18 Every one thatwho puttethdivorces away his wife and marriethmarries another committethcommits adultery: and he thatwho marriethmarries onea thatwoman isdivorced put away from aher husband committethcommits adultery
16:19 NowThere there was a certain rich man andwho he was clothed in purple and fine linen faringand who feasted sumptuously every day:
16:20 andAnd aat certainhis beggargate namedlay Lazarusa waspoor laidman atnamed hisLaz′arus gate full of sores
16:21 andwho desiringdesired to be fed with thewhat crumbs that fell from the rich mans table; yeamoreover even the dogs came and licked his sores
16:22 AndThe itpoor cameman to pass that the beggar died and that he was carried away by the angels intoto Abrahams bosom: andThe the rich man also died and was buried;
16:23 Andand in Hades being in torment he lifted up his eyes being in torments and seethsaw Abraham afarfar off and LazarusLaz′arus in his bosom
16:24 And he criedcalled andout said Father Abraham have mercy onupon me and send LazarusLaz′arus thatto he may dip the tipend of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame
16:25 But Abraham said Son remember that thouyou in thyyour lifetime receivedstreceived thyyour good things and LazarusLaz′arus in like manner evil things:; but now here he is comforted here and thouyou artare in anguish
16:26 And besides all this between us and you there is a great gulfchasm has been fixed thatin theyorder that those who would pass from hencehere to you may not be able and that none may cross over from thencethere to us
16:27 And he said Then I praybeg theeyou therefore father thatto thou wouldest send him to my fathers house;
16:28 for I have five brethren;brothers so that he may testifywarn unto them lest they also come into this place of torment
16:29 But Abraham saithsaid They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them
16:30 And he said NayNo father Abraham:; but if some one gogoes to them from the dead they will repent
16:31 AndHe he said untoto him If they heardo not hear Moses and the prophets neither will they be persuadedconvinced if some one should rise from the dead
17:1 And he said untoto his disciples ItTemptations isto impossiblesin butare thatsure occasionsto of stumbling should come; but woe untoto him throughby whom they come
17:2 It werewould wellbe better for him if a millstone were hangedhung aboutround his neck and he were throwncast into the sea rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumblesin
17:3 Take heed to yourselves:; if thyyour brother sinsins rebuke him; and if he repentrepents forgive him;
17:4 Andand if he sinsins against theeyou seven times in the day and seventurns timesto turnyou againseven totimes theeand sayingsays I repent; thouyou shaltmust forgive him
17:5 AndThe the apostles said untoto the Lord Increase our faith
17:6 And the Lord said If yeyou had faith as a grain of mustard seed yeyou wouldcould say untoto this sycamine tree Be thou rooted up and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you
17:7 ButWill whoany isone there of you havingwho has a servant plowing or keeping sheep that will say untoto him when he ishas come in from the field Come straightwayat once and sit down toat meat;table
17:8 andWill willhe not rather say untoto him MakePrepare readysupper wherewithfor Ime may sup and gird thyselfyourself and serve me till I haveeat eaten and drunkendrink; and afterward thouyou shaltshall eat and drink
17:9 DothDoes he thank the servant because he did thewhat thingswas that were commanded
17:10 EvenSo soyou ye also when yeyou shall have done all the things that areis commanded you say We are unprofitableunworthy servants; we have only done thatwhat which it was our duty to do
17:11 AndOn it came to pass as they were on the way to Jerusalem that he was passing along thebetween bordersSamar′ia of Samaria and Galilee
17:12 And as he entered into a certain village therehe was met himby ten men that were lepers who stood afarat off:a distance
17:13 and they lifted up their voices sayingand said Jesus Master have mercy on us
17:14 AndWhen when he saw them he said untoto them Go and show yourselves untoto the priests And it came to pass as they went they were cleansed
17:15 AndThen one of them when he saw that he was healed turned back praising God with a loud voice glorifying God;
17:16 and he fell uponon his face at hisJesus feet giving him thanks: andNow he was a Samaritan
17:17 AndThen said Jesus answering said Were not the ten cleansed butWhere where are the nine
17:18 WereWas thereno noneone found thatto returnedreturn toand give glorypraise to God saveexcept this strangerforeigner
17:19 And he said untoto him AriseRise and go thyyour way:; thyyour faith hathhas made theeyou wholewell
17:20 AndBeing being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God comethwas coming he answered them and said The kingdom of God comethis not coming with observation:signs to be observed;
17:21 neithernor shallwill they say Lo here it is or There for lobehold the kingdom of God is withinin the midst of you
17:22 And he said untoto the disciples The days willare comecoming when yeyou shallwill desire to see one of the days of the Son of man and yeyou shallwill not see it
17:23 And they shallwill say to you Lo there or Lo here goDo not awaygo nordo not follow after them:
17:24 forFor as the lightning whenflashes itand lightenethlights outup of the onesky partfrom underone theside heavento shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shallwill the Son of man be in his day
17:25 But first he must he suffer many things and be rejected ofby this generation
17:26 AndAs as it camewas to pass in the days of Noah even so shallwill it be also in the days of the Son of man
17:27 They ate they drank they married they were given in marriage until the day thatwhen Noah entered into the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all
17:28 Likewise even as it camewas to pass in the days of Lot; —they ate they drank they bought they sold they planted they builded;built
17:29 but inon the day thatwhen Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstonesulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all:—
17:30 afterso thewill same manner shall it be inon the day thatwhen the Son of man is revealed
17:31 InOn that day helet thathim shallwho beis on the housetop andwith his goods in the house let him not gocome down to take them away:; and likewise let him thatwho is in the field likewise not returnturn back
17:33 WhosoeverWhoever shallseeks seek to gain his life shallwill lose it: but whosoeverwhoever shallloses lose his life shallwill preserve it
17:34 I saytell unto you Inin that night there shallwill be two menin on one bed; the one shallwill be taken and the other shall be left
17:35 There shallwill be two women grinding together; the one shallwill be taken and the other shall be left
17:37 And they answeringsaid sayto unto him Where Lord AndHe he said untoto them Where the body is thitherthere will the eagles alsowill be gathered together
18:1 And he spaketold them a parable unto them to the endeffect that they ought always to pray and not tolose faint;heart
18:2 sayingHe Theresaid wasIn in a certain city there was a judge who neither feared not God andnor regarded not man:;
18:3 and there was a widow in that city; andwho shekept camecoming oftto unto him and saying AvengeVindicate me ofagainst minemy adversary
18:4 AndFor hea wouldwhile nothe forrefused; a while: but afterward he said withinto himself Though I neither fear not God nor regard man;
18:5 yet because this widow troublethbothers me I will avengevindicate her lestor she will wear me out by her continual coming
18:6 And the Lord said Hear what the unrighteous judge saithsays
18:7 And shallwill not God avengevindicate his elect thatwho cry to him day and night andWill yet he isdelay longsufferinglong over them
18:8 I saytell unto you that he will avengevindicate them speedily Nevertheless when the Son of man comethcomes shallwill he find faith on the earth
18:9 AndHe healso spaketold also this parable untoto certainsome who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and setdespised all others at nought:
18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee and the other a publicantax collector
18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself God I thank thee that I am not aslike theother rest of men extortioners unjust adulterers or even aslike this publicantax collector
18:12 I fast twice ina the week; I give tithes of all that I get
18:13 But the publicantax collector standing afarfar off would not even lift up so much as his eyes untoto heaven but smotebeat his breast saying God be thou merciful to me a sinner
18:14 I saytell unto you Thisthis man went down to his house justified rather than the other:; for every one thatwho exaltethexalts himself shallwill be humbled; but he thatwho humblethhumbles himself shallwill be exalted
18:15 AndNow they were bringing untoeven himinfants alsoto theirhim babes that he shouldmight touch them:; butand when the disciples saw it they rebuked them
18:16 But Jesus called them untoto him saying SufferLet the little children to come untoto me and forbiddo not hinder them; not: for to such belongethbelongs the kingdom of God
18:17 VerilyTruly I say untoto you Whosoeverwhoever shalldoes not receive the kingdom of God aslike a little child he shall innot no wise enter thereinit
18:18 And a certain ruler asked him saying Good Teacher what shall I do to inherit eternal life
18:19 And Jesus said untoto him Why callestdo thouyou call me good noneNo one is good savebut oneGod evenalone God
18:20 ThouYou knowestknow the commandments: Do not commit adultery Do not kill Do not steal Do not bear false witness Honor thyyour father and mother
18:21 And he said All these thingsI have I observed from my youth up
18:22 And when Jesus heard it he said untoto him One thing thouyou lackeststill yet:lack sellSell all that thouyou hasthave and distribute untoto the poor and thouyou shaltwill have treasure in heaven:; and come follow me
18:23 But when he heard thesethis things he became exceedingsad sorrowful; for he was very rich
18:24 And Jesus seeinglooking at him said How hardlyhard shallit theyis thatfor those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God
18:25 For it is easier for a camel to entergo in through the eye of a needlesneedle eye than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God
18:26 AndThose theywho that heard it said Then who can be saved
18:27 But he said TheWhat thingsis which are impossible with men areis possible with God
18:28 And Peter said Lo we have left our ownhomes and followed theeyou
18:29 And he said untoto them VerilyTruly I say untoto you Therethere is no man thatwho hathhas left house or wife or brethrenbrothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of GodsGod sake
18:30 who shallwill not receive manifold more in this time and in the worldage to come eternal life
18:31 And hetaking took unto him the twelve andhe said untoto them Behold we goare going up to Jerusalem and alleverything the things that areis written throughof the prophetsSon shallof beman accomplishedby unto the Sonprophets ofwill manbe accomplished
18:32 For he shallwill be delivered upto unto the Gentiles and shallwill be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon:;
18:33 and they shallwill scourge him and kill him: and on the third day he shallwill rise again
18:34 AndBut they understood none of these things; and this saying was hid from them and they perceiveddid not thegrasp thingswhat thatwas were said
18:35 AndAs it came to pass as he drew nighnear untoto Jericho a certain blind man satwas sitting by the wayroadside side begging:;
18:37 AndThey they told him that Jesus of Nazareth passethis passing by
18:38 And he cried saying Jesus thouSon son of David have mercy on me
18:39 And theythose thatwho wentwere beforein front rebuked him thattelling hehim shouldto holdbe hissilent; peace: but he cried out all the more aSon great deal Thou son of David have mercy on me
18:40 And Jesus stoodstopped and commanded him to be brought untoto him:; and when he wascame come near he asked him
18:41 What wiltdo thouyou thatwant Ime shouldto do untofor theeyou AndHe he said Lord thatlet Ime may receive my sight
18:42 And Jesus said untoto him Receive thyyour sight:; thyyour faith hathhas made theeyou wholewell
18:43 And immediately he received his sight and followed him glorifying God:; and all the people when they saw it gave praise untoto God
19:1 AndHe he entered Jericho and was passing through Jericho
19:2 And beholdthere was a man callednamed by name ZacchaeusZacchae′us; and he was a chief publicantax collector and he was rich
19:3 And he sought to see Jesus who heJesus was; andbut could not foron account of the crowd because he was littlesmall of stature
19:4 AndSo he ran on beforeahead and climbed up into a sycomoresycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way
19:5 And when Jesus came to the place he looked up and said untoto him ZacchaeusZacchae′us make haste and come down; for to day I must abidestay at thyyour house today
19:6 AndSo he made haste and came down and received him joyfully
19:7 And when they saw it they all murmured saying He ishas gone in to lodgebe withthe guest of a man thatwho is a sinner
19:8 And ZacchaeusZacchae′us stood and said untoto the Lord Behold Lord the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wrongfullydefrauded exactedany aughtone of anyanything man I restore it fourfold
19:9 And Jesus said untoto him ToToday daysalvation ishas salvation come to this house forasmuchsince as he also is a son of Abraham
19:10 For the Son of man came to seek and to save thatthe which was lost
19:11 AndAs as they heard these things he addedproceeded andto spaketell a parable because he was nighnear to Jerusalem and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was immediately to appear immediately
19:12 He said therefore A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and tothen return

19:43 For the days shall come upon theeyou when thineyour enemies shallwill cast up a bank about theeyou and compasssurround theeyou round and keephem theeyou in on every side
19:44 and shall dash theeyou to the ground you and thyyour children within thee;you and they shallwill not leave in thee one stone upon another in you; because thouyou knewestdid not know the time of thyyour visitation
19:45 And he entered into the temple and began to castdrive out themthose thatwho sold
19:46 saying untoto them It is written AndMy my house shall be a house of prayer:; but yeyou have made it a den of robbers
19:47 And he was teaching daily in the temple ButThe the chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people sought to destroy him:;
19:48 andbut they coulddid not find whatanything they mightcould do; for all the people all hung upon himhis listeningwords
20:1 AndOne itday came to pass on one of the days as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel there came upon him the chief priests and the scribes with the elders; came up
20:2 and theysaid spaketo saying unto him Tell us: Byby what authority doestyou thoudo these things or who it is he that gave theeyou this authority
20:3 AndHe he answered and said unto them I also will ask you a question; andnow tell me:
20:4 TheWas the baptism of John was it from heaven or from men
20:5 And they reasoneddiscussed it with themselvesone another saying If we shall say From heaven; he will say Why did yeyou not believe him
20:6 But if we shall say From men; all the people will stone us:; for they are persuadedconvinced that John was a prophet
20:7 AndSo they answered that they knewdid not know whence it was
20:8 And Jesus said untoto them Neither tellwill I tell you by what authority I do these things
20:9 And he began to speaktell unto the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard and let it out to husbandmentenants and went into another country for a long timewhile
20:10 AndWhen at the seasontime came he sent untoa theservant husbandmento athe servanttenants that they should give him some of the fruit of the vineyard:; but the husbandmentenants beat him and sent him away empty handed
20:11 And he sent yet another servant:; and him also they beat and handledtreated him shamefully and sent him away empty handed
20:12 And he sent yet a third:; andthis himone also they wounded and cast himout forth
20:13 AndThen the lordowner of the vineyard said What shall I do I will send my beloved son; it may be they will reverencerespect him
20:14 But when the husbandmentenants saw him they reasonedsaid oneto withthemselves another saying This is the heir; let us kill him that the inheritance may be ours
20:15 And they cast him forth out of the vineyard and killed him What thereforethen will the lordowner of the vineyard do untoto them
20:16 He will come and destroy thesethose husbandmentenants and will give the vineyard untoto others AndWhen when they heard itthis they said God forbid
20:17 But he looked uponat them and said What then is this that is written: The very stone which the builders rejected Thehas samebecome was made the head of the corner
20:18 Every one thatwho fallethfalls on that stone shallwill be broken to pieces; but onwhen whomsoever it shallfalls fallon any one it will scattercrush him as dust
20:19 AndThe the scribes and the chief priests soughttried to lay hands on him inat that very hour; andbut they feared the people:; for they perceived that he spakehad told this parable against them
20:20 AndSo they watched him and sent forth spies who feignedpretended themselves to be righteoussincere that they might take hold of hiswhat speechhe said so as to deliver him up to the ruleauthority and tojurisdiction the authority of the governor
20:21 AndThey they asked him saying Teacher we know that thouyou sayestspeak and teachestteach rightly and acceptestshow notno thepartiality person of any but oftruly ateach truth teachest the way of God:
