5:5 ForThough all the people thatwho came out werehad been circumcised; butyet all the people that were born inon the wildernessway byin the waywilderness asafter they camehad forthcome out of Egypt they had not been circumcised

5:15 And the princecommander of Jehovahsthe hostLords army said untoto Joshua Put off thyyour shoeshoes from offyour thy footfeet; for the place whereonwhere thouyou standeststand is holy And Joshua did so
6:1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up from within and from without because of the childrenpeople of Israel:; none went out and none came in
6:2 And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Joshua See I have given into thyyour hand Jericho andwith theits king thereof and the mighty men of valor
6:3 AndYou ye shall compassmarch around the city all the men of war going aboutaround the city once Thus shaltshall thouyou do for six days
6:4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams horns before the ark:; and on the seventh day yeyou shall compassmarch around the city seven times and the priests shallblowing blow the trumpets
6:5 And it shall be that when they make a long blast with the rams horn andas whensoon yeas you hear the sound of the trumpet then all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shallwill fall down flat and the people shall go up every man straight before him
6:6 AndSo Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said untoto them Take up the ark of the covenant and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams horns before the ark of Jehovahthe Lord
6:7 And theyhe said untoto the people PassGo onforward; andmarch compassaround the city and let the armed men pass on before the ark of Jehovahthe Lord
6:8 And itas was so that when Joshua had spokencommanded unto the people the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams horns before Jehovahthe passedLord onwent andforward blewblowing the trumpets: andwith the ark of the covenant of Jehovahthe followedLord following them
6:9 And the armed men went before the priests thatwho blew the trumpets and the rearwardrear wentguard came after the ark thewhile priests blowing the trumpets asblew theycontinually went
6:10 AndBut Joshua commanded the people sayingYou Ye shall not shout noror let your voice be heard neither shall any word proceedgo out of your mouth until the day I bid you shout; then you shall ye shout
6:11 So he caused the ark of Jehovahthe Lord to compass the city going about it once:; and they came into the camp and lodgedspent the night in the camp
6:12 AndThen Joshua rose early in the morning and the priests took up the ark of Jehovahthe Lord
6:13 And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams horns before the ark of Jehovahthe wentLord passed on continuallyblowing and blew the trumpets: continually; and the armed men went before them; and the rearwardrear guard came after the ark of Jehovah the priestsLord blowingwhile the trumpets asblew theycontinually went
6:14 And the second day they compassedmarched around the city once and returned into the camp: soSo they did for six days
6:15 AndOn it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early at the dawningdawn of the day and compassedmarched around the city afterin the same manner seven times: it was only on that day that they compassedmarched around the city seven times
6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time when the priests blewhad blown the trumpets Joshua said untoto the people Shout; for Jehovahthe hathLord has given you the city
6:17 And the city shalland beall devotedthat evenis within it andshall allbe thatdevoted isto thereinthe toLord Jehovah:for destruction; only Rahab the harlot shall live she and all thatwho are with her in theher house shall live because she hid the messengers that we sent
6:18 But as for you only keep yourselves from the things devoted thingto destruction lest when yeyou have devoted itthem yeyou take any of the devoted thing;things soand would ye make the camp of Israel accurseda thing for destruction and bring trouble upon it
6:19 But all the silver and gold and vessels of brassbronze and iron are holysacred untoto Jehovah:the Lord; they shall comego into the treasury of Jehovahthe Lord
6:20 So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets: andwere itblown cameAs tosoon passas when the people heard the sound of the trumpet that the people shoutedraised with a great shout and the wall fell down flat so that the people went up into the city every man straight before him and they took the city
6:21 AndThen they utterly destroyed all that was in the city both manmen and womanwomen both young and old andoxen ox and sheep and assasses with the edge of the sword
6:22 And Joshua said untoto the two men thatwho had spied out the land Go into the harlots house and bring out thencefrom it the woman and all thatwho shebelong hathto her as yeyou swareswore untoto her
6:23 AndSo the young men thewho had been spies went in and brought out Rahab and her father and her mother and herbrothers brethren and all thatwho shebelonged had;to all her; kindredand also they brought out;all her kindred and they set them withoutoutside the camp of Israel
6:24 And they burntburned the city with fire and all thatwithin was thereinit; only the silver and the gold and the vessels of brassbronze and of iron they put into the treasury of the house of Jehovahthe Lord
6:25 But Rahab the harlot and her fathers household and all thatwho shebelonged hadto didher Joshua savesaved alive; and she dwelt in the midst of Israel untoto this day because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho
6:26 And Joshua chargedlaid them with an oath upon them at that time saying Cursed before the Lord be the man before Jehovah that risethrises up and buildethrebuilds this city Jericho: withAt the losscost of his first born shall he lay theits foundation thereof and withat the losscost of his youngest son shall he set up theits gates of it
6:27 So Jehovahthe Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land
7:1 But the childrenpeople of Israel committedbroke afaith trespass in regard to the devoted thingthings; for Achan the son of Carmi the son of Zabdi the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah took some of the devoted thing:things; and the anger of Jehovahthe wasLord kindledburned against the childrenpeople of Israel
7:2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai which is besidenear Beth avena′ven on the east side of BethBethel el and spakesaid untoto them saying Go up and spy out the land And the men went up and spied out Ai
7:3 And they returned to Joshua and said untoto him Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smiteattack Ai; makedo not allmake the whole people to toil thither;up there for they are but few
7:4 So thereabout three thousand went up thitherthere offrom the people; about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai
7:5 Andand the men of Ai smotekilled of them about thirty and six men; of them and they chased them from before the gate evenas untofar Shebarimas Sheb′arim and smoteslew them at the descent: andAnd the hearts of the people melted and became as water

7:10 AndThe JehovahLord said untoto Joshua GetArise theewhy up;have whereforeyou art thou thus fallen upon thyyour face
7:11 Israel hathhas sinned; yea they have even transgressed my covenant which I commanded them:; yea they have even taken some of the devoted thingthings; andthey have also stolen and dissembledlied also; and they have even put itthem among their own stuff
7:12 Therefore the childrenpeople of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies because they arehave become accursed:a thing for destruction I will not be with you anyno more exceptunless yeyou destroy the devoted thingthings from among you
7:13 Up sanctify the people and say Sanctify yourselves againstfor totomorrow; morrow: for thus saithsays Jehovah the Lord God of Israel There isare a devoted thingthings in the midst of theeyou O Israel; thouyou canstcannot not stand before thineyour enemies until yeyou take away the devoted thingthings from among you

7:17 and he brought near the familyfamilies of Judah; and he took the family of the Zerahites:Zer′ahites was taken; and he brought near the family of the ZerahitesZer′ahites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:;
7:18 and he brought near his household man by man; and Achan the son of Carmi the son of Zabdi the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah was taken

7:21 when I saw among the spoil a goodlybeautiful Babylonish mantle from Shinar and two hundred shekels of silver and a wedgebar of gold ofweighing fifty shekels weight then I coveted them and took them; and behold they are hidhidden in the earth ininside the midst of my tent andwith the silver under itunderneath

7:23 And they took them fromout the midst of the tent and brought them untoto Joshua and unto all the childrenpeople of Israel; and they laid them down before Jehovahthe Lord

8:2 and thouyou shaltshall do to Ai and herits king as thouyou didstdid untoto Jericho and herits king:; only theits spoil thereof and theits cattle thereofyou shall ye take foras abooty preyfor unto yourselves:; setlay thee an ambush foragainst the city behind it
8:3 So Joshua arose and all the peoplefighting ofmen war to go up to Ai:; and Joshua chose out thirty thousand men the mighty men of valor and sent them forth by night
8:4 And he commanded them saying Behold yeyou shall lie in ambush against the city behind the cityit; godo not go very far from the city but behold yeyourselves all ready:in readiness;
8:5 and I and all the people thatwho are with me will approach unto the city And it shall come to pass when they come out against us as atbefore the first that we willshall flee before them;
8:6 and they will come out after us till we have drawn them away from the city; for they will say They fleeare beforefleeing from us as atbefore theSo first: so we will flee beforefrom them;
8:7 andthen yeyou shall rise up from the ambush and takeseize possession of the city:; for Jehovahthe Lord your God will delivergive it into your hand
8:8 And it shall be when yeyou have seizedtaken upon the city thatyou ye shall set the city on fire; accordingdoing toas the wordLord ofhas Jehovahbidden; shall ye do: see I have commanded you
8:9 AndSo Joshua sent them forth; and they went to the ambushmentplace of ambush and abodelay between BethBethel el and Ai onto the west side of Ai:; but Joshua lodgedspent that night among the people
8:10 And Joshua arose up early in the morning and mustered the people and went up hewith and the elders of Israel before the people to Ai
8:11 And all the peoplefighting even the men ofwho war that were with him went up and drew nighnear and came before the city and encamped on the north side of Ai: nowwith there was a valleyravine between himthem and Ai
8:12 And he took about five thousand men and set them in ambush between BethBethel el and Ai onto the west side of the city
8:13 So they setstationed the peopleforces eventhe allmain theencampment hostwhich that was on the north of the city and theirits liersrear inguard wait that were on the west of the city; andBut Joshua wentspent that night intoin the midst of the valley
8:14 And it came to pass when the king of Ai saw itthis thathe they hasted and roseall uphis earlypeople and the men of the city made haste and went out againstearly Israel to battlethe hedescent andtoward allthe hisArabah peopleto atmeet theIsrael timein appointed before the Arabahbattle; but he knewdid not know that there was an ambush against him behind the city
8:15 And Joshua and all Israel made asa ifpretense theyof werebeing beaten before them and fled byin the waydirection of the wilderness
8:16 AndSo all the people thatwho were in the city were called together to pursue after them: and as they pursued after Joshua andthey were drawn away from the city
8:17 AndThere there was not a man left in Ai or BethBethel elwho thatdid went not go out after Israel:; and they left the city open and pursued after Israel
8:18 AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Joshua Stretch out the javelin that is in thyyour hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thyyour hand And Joshua stretched out the javelin that was in his hand toward the city
8:19 And the ambush aroserose quickly out of their place and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand they ran and entered into the city and took it; and they hastedmade andhaste to set the city on fire
8:20 AndSo when the men of Ai looked behindback them they saw and behold the smoke of the city ascendedwent up to heaven; and they had no power to flee this way or that way:for and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers
8:21 And when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city and that the smoke of the city ascendedwent up then they turned againback and slewsmote the men of Ai
8:22 And the others came forth outfrom of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel some on this side and some on that side:; and theyIsrael smote them sountil thatthere theywas letleft none ofthat themsurvived remain or escapeescaped
8:23 AndBut the king of Ai they took alive and brought him to Joshua
8:24 AndWhen it came to pass when Israel had madefinished anslaughtering end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the fieldopen in the wilderness whereinwhere they pursued them and theyall wereof allthem to the very last had fallen by the edge of the sword until they were consumed that all Israel returned untoto Ai and smote it with the edge of the sword
8:25 And all thatwho fell that day both of men and women were twelve thousand even all the menpeople of Ai
8:26 For Joshua drewdid not draw back his hand wherewithwith which he stretched out the javelin until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai
8:27 Only the cattle and the spoil of that city Israel took foras preytheir untobooty themselves according untoto the word of Jehovahthe Lord which he commanded Joshua
8:28 So Joshua burntburned Ai and made it for ever a heap forof everruins evenas ait desolationis untoto this day
8:29 And he hanged the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until theevening; eventide: and at the going down of the sun Joshua commanded and they took his body down from the tree and cast it at the entrance of the gate of the city and raised thereonover it a great heap of stones untowhich stands there to this day
8:30 Then Joshua built an altar untoon JehovahMount Ebal to the Lord the God of Israel in mount Ebal
8:31 as Moses the servant of Jehovahthe Lord had commanded the childrenpeople of Israel as it is written in the book of the law of Moses an altar of unhewn stones upon which no man hadhas lifted upan any iron: tool; and they offered thereonon it burnt offerings untoto Jehovahthe Lord and sacrificed peace offerings
8:32 And there in the presence of the people of Israel he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses which he wrotehad inwritten the presence of the children of Israel
8:33 And all Israel andsojourner as well as homeborn with their elders and officers and their judges stood on thisopposite sidesides of the ark and on that side before the Levitical priests thewho Levitescarried that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah as well the sojournerLord as the home born; half of them in front of mountMount GerizimGer′izim and half of them in front of mountMount Ebal; as Moses the servant of Jehovahthe Lord had commanded at the first that they should bless the people of Israel
8:35 There was not a word of all that Moses commanded which Joshua readdid not read before all the assembly of Israel and the women and the little ones and the sojourners thatwho werelived among them
9:1 AndWhen it came to pass when all the kings thatwho were beyond the Jordan in the hill country and in the lowland andall onalong all the shorecoast of the greatGreat seaSea intoward front of Lebanon the HittiteHittites and the AmoriteAmorites the CanaaniteCanaanites the PerizzitePer′izzites the HiviteHivites and the JebusiteJeb′usites heard thereof;of this
9:2 that they gathered themselves together with one accord to fight with Joshua and with Israel with one accord
9:3 But when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done untoto Jericho and to Ai
9:4 they alsoon didtheir workpart wililyacted with cunning and went and made asready ifprovisions they had been ambassadors and took oldworn out sacks upon their asses and winewineskins skinsworn oldout and renttorn and boundmended up
9:5 andwith oldworn andout patched shoessandals uponon their feet and oldworn garmentsout upon themclothes; and all the bread of their provisionprovisions waswere dry and wasmoldy become mouldy
9:6 And they went to Joshua untoin the camp at Gilgal and said untoto him and to the men of Israel We arehave come from a far country:; so now therefore make ye a covenant with us
9:7 AndBut the men of Israel said untoto the Hivites PeradventurePerhaps yeyou dwelllive among us; andthen how shallcan we make a covenant with you
9:8 AndThey they said untoto Joshua We are thyyour servants And Joshua said untoto them Who are yeyou andAnd fromwhere whencedo you come yefrom
9:9 AndThey they said untoto him From a very far country thyyour servants arehave come because of the name of Jehovahthe thyLord your God:; for we have heard thea famereport of him and all that he did in Egypt
9:10 and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites thatwho were beyond the Jordan to Sihon the king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan who wasdwelt atin AshtarothAsh′taroth
9:11 And our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spakesaid to us saying Take provisionprovisions in your hand for the journey and go to meet them and say untoto them We are your servants:; andcome now make ye a covenant with us
9:12 ThisHere is our bread; it was still warm when we took hotit forfrom our provisionhouses outas of our housesfood for the journey on the day we cameset forth to gocome untoto you; but now behold it is dry and ismoldy; become mouldy:
9:13 and these winewineskins skinswere whichnew when we filled werethem new; and behold they are rent:burst; and these our garments and our shoes areof becomeours oldare byworn reasonout offrom the very long journey
9:14 AndSo the men tookpartook of their provisionprovisions and askeddid not counselask atdirection from the mouthLord of Jehovah
9:15 And Joshua made peace with them and made a covenant with them to let them live:; and the princesleaders of the congregation swareswore untoto them
9:16 AndAt it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them that they heard that they were their neighbors and that they dwelt among them
9:17 And the childrenpeople of Israel journeyedset out and camereached unto their cities on the third day Now their cities were Gibeon andChephi′rah ChephirahBe ander′oth Beeroth and KiriathKir′iath jearimje′arim
9:18 AndBut the childrenpeople of Israel smotedid not kill them not because the princesleaders of the congregation had sworn untoto them by Jehovahthe Lord the God of Israel AndThen all the congregation murmured against the princesleaders
9:19 But all the princesleaders said untoto all the congregation We have sworn untoto them by Jehovahthe Lord the God of Israel: and now therefore we may not touch them
9:20 This we will do to them and let them live; lest wrath be upon us because of the oath which we swareswore untoto them
9:21 And the princesleaders said untoto them Let them live: soSo they became hewers of wood and drawers of water untofor all the congregation as the princesleaders had spokensaid untoof them
9:22 And Joshua calledsummoned for them and he spakesaid untoto them sayingWhy Whereforedid haveyou yedeceive beguiled us saying We are very far from you; when yeyou dwell among us
9:23 Now therefore yeyou are cursed and theresome shallof neveryou failshall toalways be ofslaves you bondmen both hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God
9:24 AndThey they answered Joshua and said Because it was certainly told thyto your servants howfor a certainty that Jehovahthe thyLord your God had commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; thereforeso we werefeared soregreatly afraid for our lives because of you and havedid done this thing
9:25 And now behold we are in thyyour hand: do as it seemethseems good and right untoin theeyour sight to do untoto us do
9:26 AndSo sohe did heto unto them and delivered them out of the hand of the childrenpeople of Israel; thatand they slewdid not kill them not
9:27 AndBut Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation and for the altar of Jehovahthe untoLord to continue to this day in the place which he should choose
10:1 NowWhen itAdo′ni cameze′dek to pass when Adoni zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai and had utterly destroyed it asdoing he had done to JerichoAi and herits king soas he had done to AiJericho and herits king and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were among them;
10:2 thathe they feared greatly because Gibeon was a great city aslike one of the royal cities and because it was greater than Ai and all theits men thereof were mighty
10:3 WhereforeSo AdoniAdo′ni zedekze′dek king of Jerusalem sent untoto Hoham king of Hebron andto unto Piram king of Jarmuth andto untoJaphi′a Japhia king of Lachish and untoto Debir king of Eglon saying
10:4 Come up untoto me and help me and let us smite Gibeon; for it hathhas made peace with Joshua and with the childrenpeople of Israel
10:5 ThereforeThen the five kings of the Amorites the king of Jerusalem the king of Hebron the king of Jarmuth the king of Lachish and the king of Eglon gathered themselvestheir togetherforces and went up theywith and all their hostsarmies and encamped against Gibeon and made war against it
10:6 And the men of Gibeon sent untoto Joshua toat the camp toin Gilgal saying SlackDo not thyrelax your hand from thyyour servants; come up to us quickly and save us and help us:; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill country are gathered together against us
10:8 And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Joshua FearDo not fear them not: for I have deliveredgiven them into thyyour hands; there shall not a man of them stand before theeyou
10:9 So Joshua therefore came upon them suddenly; forhaving hemarched went up all night from Gilgal all the night
10:10 And Jehovahthe discomfitedLord threw them into a panic before Israel andwho he slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth horonhor′on and smote them toas Azekahfar as Aze′kah and untoMakke′dah Makkedah
10:11 And it came to pass as they fled from before Israel while they were atgoing down the descentascent of Beth horonhor′on thatthe JehovahLord castthrew down great stones from heaven upon them untoas Azekahfar as Aze′kah and they died:; theythere were more who died withbecause of the hailstones than they whom the childrenmen of Israel slewkilled with the sword
10:12 Then spakespoke Joshua to Jehovahthe Lord in the day when Jehovahthe deliveredLord upgave the Amorites beforeover to the childrenmen of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel Sun stand thou still uponat Gibeon; Andand thou Moon in the valley of AijalonAi′jalon
10:13 And the sun stood still and the moon stayed Untiluntil the nation hadtook avengedvengeance themselveson of their enemies Is this not this written in the bookBook of Jashar AndThe the sun stayed in the midst of heaven and hasteddid not hasten to go down for about a whole day
10:14 AndThere therehas wasbeen no day like thatit before it or aftersince itwhen thatthe JehovahLord hearkened untoto the voice of a man:; for Jehovahthe Lord fought for Israel
10:15 AndThen Joshua returned and all Israel with him untoto the camp toat Gilgal
10:16 AndThese these five kings fled and hid themselves in the cave at MakkedahMakke′dah
10:17 And it was told Joshua saying The five kings arehave been found hidden in the cave at MakkedahMakke′dah
10:18 And Joshua said Roll great stones untoagainst the mouth of the cave and set men by it to keepguard them:;
10:19 but staydo not ye;stay there yourselves pursue after your enemies andfall smiteupon thetheir hindmostrear ofdo them;not sufferlet them not to enter into their cities:; for Jehovahthe Lord your God hathhas deliveredgiven them into your hand
10:20 AndWhen it came to pass when Joshua and the childrenmen of Israel had madefinished an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter tilluntil they were consumedwiped out and when the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities
10:21 that all the people returned safe to Joshua in the camp to Joshua at MakkedahMakke′dah; innot peace:a noneman moved his tongue against any of the childrenpeople of Israel
10:22 Then Joshua said Joshua Open the mouth of the cave and bring forth those five kings untoout to me outfrom of the cave
10:23 And they did so and brought forth those five kings untoout to him outfrom of the cave the king of Jerusalem the king of Hebron the king of Jarmuth the king of Lachish and the king of Eglon
10:24 And it came to pass when they brought forth those kings untoout to Joshua that Joshua calledsummoned for all the men of Israel and said untoto the chiefs of the men of war thatwho wenthad gone with him Come near put your feet upon the necks of these kings AndThen they came near and put their feet uponon thetheir necks of them
10:25 And Joshua said untoto them FearDo not nor be afraid or dismayed; be strong and of good courage:; for thus shallthe JehovahLord will do to all your enemies against whom yeyou fight
10:26 And afterward Joshua smote them and put them to death and hangedhe hung them on five trees: andAnd they werehung hanging upon the trees until the evening;
10:27 Andbut it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun that Joshua commanded and they took them down offfrom the trees and castthrew them into the cave whereinwhere they had hidden themselves and laidthey set great stones onagainst the mouth of the cave untowhich remain to this very day
10:28 And Joshua took MakkedahMakke′dah on that day and smote it and its king with the edge of the sword; and the king thereof: he utterly destroyed themevery andperson allin theit souls that were therein; he left none remaining; and he did to the king of MakkedahMakke′dah as he had done untoto the king of Jericho
10:29 AndThen Joshua passed on from MakkedahMakke′dah and all Israel with him untoto Libnah and fought against Libnah:;
10:30 and Jehovahthe deliveredLord gave it also and theits king thereof into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword and allevery theperson soulsin that were thereinit; he left none remaining in it; and he did untoto theits king thereof as he had done untoto the king of Jericho
10:31 And Joshua passed on from Libnah and all Israel with him untoto Lachish and encampedlaid againstsiege to it and foughtassaulted against it:
10:32 and Jehovahthe deliveredLord gave Lachish into the hand of Israel; and he took it on the second day and smote it with the edge of the sword and allevery theperson soulsin thatit wereas therein according to all that he had done to Libnah
10:33 Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people until he had left him none remaining
10:34 And Joshua passed fromon Lachishwith and all Israel withfrom himLachish untoto Eglon; and they encampedlaid againstsiege to it and foughtassaulted against it;
10:35 and they took it on that day and smote it with the edge of the sword; and allevery theperson soulsin thatit were therein he utterly destroyed that day accordingas to all that he had done to Lachish
10:36 AndThen Joshua went up fromwith Eglon and all Israel withfrom himEglon untoto Hebron; and they foughtassaulted against it:
10:37 and they took it and smote it with the edge of the sword and theits king thereof and allits thetowns cities thereof and allevery theperson soulsin that were thereinit; he left none remaining accordingas to all that he had done to Eglon; butand he utterly destroyed it andwith allevery theperson soulsin that were thereinit
10:38 AndThen Joshua returnedwith and all Israel withturned himback to Debir and foughtassaulted against it:
10:39 and he took it andwith theits king thereof and all theits cities thereoftowns; and they smote them with the edge of the sword and utterly destroyed allevery theperson soulsin that were thereinit; he left none remaining:; as he had done to Hebron soand he did to DebirLibnah and toits the king thereof;so as he haddid done also to LibnahDebir and to theits king thereof
10:40 So Joshua smotedefeated all the whole land the hill country and the SouthNegeb and the lowland and the slopes and all their kings:; he left none remaining but he utterly destroyed all that breathed as Jehovah the Lord God of Israel commanded
10:41 And Joshua smotedefeated them from KadeshKa′desh barneabar′nea evento unto Gaza and all the country of Goshen evenas untofar as Gibeon
10:42 And Joshua took all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time because Jehovah the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel
10:43 AndThen Joshua returned and all Israel with him untoto the camp toat Gilgal
11:1 AndWhen it came to pass when Jabin king of Hazor heard thereofof thatthis he sent to Jobab king of Madon and to the king of Shimron and to the king of AchshaphAch′shaph
11:2 and to the kings thatwho were onin the northnorthern in the hill country and in the Arabah south of ChinnerothChin′neroth and in the lowland and in theNaphoth heightsdor of Dor on the west
11:3 to the CanaaniteCanaanites onin the east and on the west and the AmoriteAmorites and the HittiteHittites and the PerizzitePer′izzites and the JebusiteJeb′usites in the hill country and the HiviteHivites under Hermon in the land of Mizpah
11:4 And they wentcame out theywith and all their hoststroops witha themgreat muchhost peoplein evennumber aslike the sand that is upon the seaseashore shorewith invery multitudemany with horses and chariots very many
11:5 And all these kings metjoined together;their forces and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight with Israel
11:6 And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Joshua BeDo not be afraid because of them; for totomorrow morrow at this time will I deliverwill themgive upover all of them slain beforeto Israel:; thouyou shaltshall hockhamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire
11:7 So Joshua came andsuddenly upon them with all thehis people of war with him against them by the waters of Merom suddenly and fell upon them
11:8 And Jehovahthe deliveredLord gave them into the hand of Israel andwho they smote them and chased them untoas greatfar as Great Sidon and untoMis′rephoth Misrephothma′im maim and untoeastward as far as the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them until they left them none remaining
11:9 And Joshua did untoto them as Jehovahthe Lord bade him:; he hockedhamstrung their horses and burntburned their chariots with fire
11:10 And Joshua turned back at that time and took Hazor and smote theits king thereof with the sword:; for Hazor beforetimeformerly was the head of all those kingdoms
11:11 And they smoteput allto the soulssword thatall who were thereinin withit the edge of the sword utterly destroying them; there was none left that breathed: and he burntburned Hazor with fire
11:12 And all the cities of those kings and all thetheir kings of them did Joshua taketook and he smote them with the edge of the sword and utterly destroyeddestroying them; as Moses the servant of Jehovahthe Lord had commanded
11:13 But asnone forof the cities that stood on their mounds did Israel burnedburn noneexcept of them save Hazor only; that did Joshua burnburned
11:14 And all the spoil of these cities and the cattle the childrenpeople of Israel took for atheir prey unto themselvesbooty; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them neitherand left they did not leave any that breathed
11:15 As Jehovahthe Lord had commanded Moses his servant so did Moses commandcommanded Joshua: and so Joshua did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that Jehovahthe Lord had commanded Moses
11:16 So Joshua took all that land the hill country and all the SouthNegeb and all the land of Goshen and the lowland and the Arabah and the hill country of Israel and theits lowland of the same;
11:17 from mountMount Halak that goethrises uptoward toSe′ir Seiras evenfar untoas BaalBa′al gad in the valley of Lebanon underbelow mountMount Hermon: andAnd he took all their kings he took and smote them and put them to death
11:19 There was not a city that made peace with the childrenpeople of Israel saveexcept the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon:; they took all in battle
11:20 For it was ofthe JehovahLords doing to harden their hearts tothat they should come against Israel in battle in order that hethey mightshould be utterly destroydestroyed themand thatshould theyreceive might have no favormercy but thatbe heexterminated mightas destroythe themLord as Jehovah commanded Moses
11:21 And Joshua came at that time and cutwiped offout the Anakim from the hill country from Hebron from Debir from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel:; Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities
11:22 There was none of the Anakim left in the land of the childrenpeople of Israel:; only in Gaza in Gath and in Ashdod did some remain
11:23 So Joshua took the whole land according to all that Jehovahthe spakeLord untohad spoken to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance untoto Israel according to their divisionstribal byallotments their tribes And the land had rest from war
12:1 Now these are the kings of the land whom the childrenpeople of Israel smotedefeated and possessedtook possession of their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising from the valley of the Arnon untoto mountMount Hermon andwith all the Arabah eastward:

13:1 Now Joshua was old and welladvanced stricken in years; and Jehovahthe Lord said untoto him ThouYou artare old and welladvanced stricken in years and there remainethremains yet very much land to be possessed
13:2 This is the land that yet remainethremains: all the regions of the Philistines and all those of the Geshurites;Gesh′urites

13:7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance untoto the nine tribes and half the half tribe of ManassehManas′seh
13:8 With himthe other half of the tribe of Manas′seh the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan eastward even as Moses the servant of Jehovahthe Lord gave them:
