4:41 And many more believed because of his word;
4:42 andThey they said to the woman NowIt weis believeno notlonger because of thyyour speaking:words that we believe for we have heard for ourselves and we know that this is indeed the SaviourSavior of the world
4:43 AndAfter after the two days he wentdeparted forthto from thence into Galilee
4:44 For Jesus himself testified that a prophet hathhas no honor in his own country
4:45 So when he came intoto Galilee the GalilaeansGalileans receivedwelcomed him having seen all the things that he didhad done in Jerusalem at the feast: for they alsotoo wenthad untogone to the feast
4:46 HeSo he came therefore again untoto Cana ofin Galilee where he had made the water wine And at Caper′na um there was aan certainofficial nobleman whose son was sickill at Capernaum
4:47 When he heard that Jesus washad come outfrom ofJudea Judaeato into Galilee he went unto him and besoughtbegged him thatto he would come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death

4:51 AndAs as he was now going down his servants met him sayingand told him that his son livedwas living
4:52 So he inquiredasked of them the hour when he began to amendmend Theyand they said thereforeto unto him Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him
4:53 SoThe the father knew that it was atthe that hour inwhen which Jesus had said untoto him ThyYour son liveth:will live; and he himself believed and all his wholehousehold house
4:54 This iswas againnow the second sign that Jesus did havingwhen he had come outfrom ofJudea Judaeato into Galilee
5:1 After thesethis things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem
5:2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheepSheep gateGate a pool whichin isHebrew called inBeth Hebrewza′tha Bethesdawhich havinghas five porchesporticoes
5:3 In these lay a multitude of theminvalids that were sick blind haltlame witheredparalyzed
5:5 AndOne a certain man was there who had been ill for thirty and eight years in his infirmity
5:6 When Jesus saw him lying and knew that he had been nowlying there a long time inhe thatsaid caseto hehim saithDo untoyou himwant Wouldestto thou be madehealed whole
5:7 The sick man answered him Sir I have no man when the water is troubled to put me into the pool: butwhen the water is troubled and while I am cominggoing another steppethsteps down before me
5:8 Jesus saithsaid untoto him AriseRise take up thyyour bedpallet and walk
5:9 And straightwayat once the man was madehealed whole and he took up his bedpallet and walked Now itthat day was the sabbath on that day
5:10 So the Jews said untoto himthe thatman who was cured It is the sabbath and it is not lawful for theeyou to takecarry upyour thypallet bed
5:11 But he answered them HeThe thatman madewho healed me whole the same said untoto me Take up thyyour bedpallet and walk
5:12 They asked him Who is the man thatwho said untoto theeyou Take up thyyour bedpallet and walk
5:13 ButNow hethe thatman waswho had been healed knewdid not know who it was; for Jesus had conveyedwithdrawn himselfas awaythere was a multitudecrowd being in the place
5:14 Afterward Jesus findethfound him in the temple and said untoto him BeholdSee thouyou artare madewell whole:Sin sin no more lestthat anothing worse thing befall theeyou
5:15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had madehealed him whole
5:16 And for this causewas why the Jews persecuted Jesus because he did thesethis things on the sabbath
5:17 But Jesus answered them My Father workethis evenworking untilstill now and I workam working
5:18 ForThis thiswas causewhy therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him because he not only brakebroke the sabbath but also called God his own Father making himself equal with God
5:19 Jesus therefore answered and said untoto them VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Thethe Son can do nothing of himselfhis own accord but only what he seethsees the Father doing:; for whatwhatever things soever he doethdoes thesethat the Son alsodoes doethlikewise in like manner
5:20 For the Father lovethloves the Son and showethshows him all things that he himself doeth:is doing; and greater works than these will he show him that yeyou may marvel
5:21 For as the Father raisethraises the dead and givethgives them life even so also the Son alsogives giveth life to whom he will
5:22 ForThe neither doth the Father judgejudges anyno manone but hehas hath given all judgment untoto the Son;
5:23 that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father He thatwho honorethdoes not honor the Son honorethdoes not honor the Father thatwho sent him
5:24 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Hehe thatwho hearethhears my word and believethbelieves him thatwho sent me hathhas eternal life; andhe comethdoes not come into judgment but hathhas passed outfrom of death intoto life
5:25 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Thethe hour comethis coming and now is when the dead shallwill hear the voice of the Son of God; and theythose thatwho hear shallwill live
5:26 For as the Father hathhas life in himself even so gave he tohas granted the Son also to have life in himself:
5:27 and hehas gavegiven him authority to execute judgment because he is athe sonSon of man
5:28 MarvelDo not marvel at this:; for the hour comethis incoming whichwhen all thatwho are in the tombs shallwill hear his voice
5:29 and shall come forth; theythose thatwho have done good untoto the resurrection of life; and theythose thatwho have done evil untoto the resurrection of judgment
5:30 I can of myself do nothing: on my own authority; as I hear I judge:; and my judgment is righteous;just because I seek not minemy own will but the will of him thatwho sent me
5:31 If I bear witness ofto myself my witnesstestimony is not true;
5:32 Itthere is another thatwho bearethbears witness ofto me; and I know that the witnesstestimony which he witnessethbears ofto me is true
5:33 YeYou have sent untoto John and he hathhas borne witness untoto the truth
5:34 ButNot that the witnesstestimony which I receive is not from man:; howbeitbut I say thesethis things that yeyou may be saved
5:35 He was thea lampburning thatand burnethshining andlamp shineth; and yeyou were willing to rejoice for a seasonwhile in his light
5:36 But the witnesstestimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hathhas givengranted me to accomplish thethese very works thatwhich I doam doing bear me witness of me that the Father hathhas sent me
5:37 And the Father thatwho sent me hehas hathhimself borne witness ofto me YeHis voice you have neithernever heard his voiceform atyou anyhave timenever nor seen; his form
5:38 Andand yeyou havedo not have his word abiding in you: for whomyou hedo sentnot believe him yewhom believehe nothas sent
5:39 YeYou search the scriptures because yeyou think that in them yeyou have eternal life; and theseit areis they whichthat bear witness ofto me;
5:40 andyet yeyou willrefuse notto come to me that yeyou may have life
5:41 I receivedo not receive glory from men
5:42 But I know you that yeyou have not the love of God inwithin yourselvesyou
5:43 I amhave come in my Fathers name and yeyou do not receive me; not: if another shallcomes come in his own name him yeyou will receive
5:44 How can yeyou believe who receive glory from one of another and do not seek the glory that comethcomes from the only God ye seek not
5:45 ThinkDo not think that I willshall accuse you to the Father:; thereit is oneMoses thatwho accusethaccuses you even Moses on whom yeyou have set your hope
5:46 ForIf ifyou ye believed Moses yeyou would believe me; for he wrote of me
5:47 But if yeyou believedo not believe his writings how shallwill yeyou believe my words
6:1 After thesethis things Jesus went away to the other side of the seaSea of Galilee which is the seaSea of TiberiasTibe′ri as
6:2 And a great multitude followed him because they beheldsaw the signs which he did on themthose thatwho were sickdiseased
6:3 And Jesus went up intoon the mountain and there he sat down with his disciples

6:7 Philip answered him Two hundred shillingsdenarii worthwould ofnot breadbuy isenough notbread sufficient for themeach thatof everythem oneto mayget take a little
6:8 One of his disciples Andrew Simon Peters brother saithsaid untoto him

6:10 Jesus said Make the people sit down Now there was much grass in the place; Soso the men sat down in number about five thousand

6:12 And when they werehad filledeaten their fill he saithtold unto his disciples Gather up the brokenfragments piecesleft which remain over that nothing may be lost
6:13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with brokenfragments pieces from the five barley loaves whichleft remainedby overthose untowho them that had eaten
6:14 When therefore the people saw the sign which he didhad done they said This is ofindeed a truth the prophet thatwho comethis to come into the world
6:15 JesusPerceiving thereforethen perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king Jesus withdrew again intoto the mountain by himself alone
6:16 AndWhen when evening came his disciples went down untoto the sea;
6:17 andgot they entered into a boat and werestarted goingacross over the sea untoto CapernaumCaper′na Andum itIt was now dark and Jesus had not yet come to them
6:18 AndThe the sea wasrose risingbecause by reason of a greatstrong wind thatwas blewblowing
6:19 When therefore they had rowed about fivethree and twenty or thirtyfour furlongsmiles they beholdsaw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing nighnear untoto the boat: andThey they were afraidfrightened
6:20 Butbut he saithsaid untoto them It is I; bedo not be afraid
6:21 TheyThen they were willingglad therefore to receivetake him into the boat: and straightwayimmediately the boat was at the land whitherto which they were going
6:22 On the morrownext day the multitudepeople thatwho stoodremained on the other side of the sea saw that there washad nobeen otheronly one boat there save one and that Jesus enteredhad not entered the boat with his disciples into the boat but that his disciples wenthad gone away alone
6:23 howbeitHowever there came boats from TiberiasTibe′ri nighas untocame near the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks:
6:24 So when the multitudepeople therefore saw that Jesus was not there neithernor his disciples they themselves got into the boats and camewent to CapernaumCaper′na um seeking Jesus
6:25 AndWhen when they found him on the other side of the sea they said untoto him Rabbi when camestdid thouyou hithercome here
6:26 Jesus answered them andTruly saidtruly Verily verily I say untoto you Yeyou seek me not because yeyou saw signs but because yeyou ate your fill of the loaves and were filled
6:27 WorkDo not labor for the food which perishethperishes but for the food which abidethendures untoto eternal life which the Son of man shallwill give untoto you:; for on him has God the Father evenset Godhis hathseal sealed
6:28 TheyThen they said thereforeto unto him What must we do thatto webe maydoing work the works of God
6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them This is the work of God that yeyou believe onin him whom he hathhas sent
6:30 TheySo they said thereforeto unto him WhatThen thenwhat doestsign thoudo foryou ado sign that we may see and believe theeyou whatWhat workestwork thoudo you perform
6:31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written He gave them bread outfrom of heaven to eat
6:32 Jesus thereforethen said untoto them VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Itit was not Moses thatwho gave you the bread outfrom of heaven; but my Father givethgives you the true bread outfrom of heaven
6:33 For the bread of God is that which comethcomes down outfrom of heaven and givethgives life untoto the world
6:34 They said thereforeto unto him Lord evermore give us this bread always
6:35 Jesus said untoto them I am the bread of life:; he thatwho comethcomes to me shall not hunger and he thatwho believethbelieves onin me shall never thirst
6:36 But I said untoto you that yeyou have seen me and yet believedo not believe
6:37 All that which the Father givethgives me shallwill come untoto me; and him thatwho comethcomes to me I will innot no wise cast out
6:38 For I amhave come down from heaven not to do minemy own will but the will of him thatwho sent me;
6:39 Andand this is the will of him thatwho sent me that I should lose nothing of all that which he hathhas given me I should lose nothing but should raise it up at the last day
6:40 For this is the will of my Father that every one thatwho beholdethsees the Son and believethbelieves onin him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day
6:41 The Jews thereforethen murmured concerningat him because he said I am the bread which came down outfrom of heaven
6:42 AndThey they said Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph whose father and mother we know howHow dothdoes he now say I amhave come down outfrom of heaven
6:43 Jesus answered and said unto them MurmurDo not murmur among yourselves
6:44 No manone can come to me exceptunless the Father thatwho sent me drawdraws him:; and I will raise him up inat the last day
6:45 It is written in the prophets And they shall all be taught ofby God Every one thatwho hathhas heard and learned from the Father andcomes hathto learned cometh unto me
6:46 Not that any manone hathhas seen the Father saveexcept hehim thatwho is from God; he hathhas seen the Father
6:47 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Hehe thatwho believethbelieves hathhas eternal life
6:50 This is the bread which comethcomes down outfrom of heaven that a man may eat thereofof it and not die
6:51 I am the living bread which came down outfrom of heaven:; if any manone eateats of this bread he shallwill live for ever:; yea and the bread which I willshall give is my flesh for the life of the world is my flesh
6:52 The Jews thereforethen strovedisputed oneamong withthemselves another saying How can this man give us his flesh to eat
6:53 So Jesus therefore said untoto them VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Exceptunless yeyou eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood yeyou have notno life in yourselvesyou;
6:54 Hehe thatwho eatetheats my flesh and drinkethdrinks my blood hathhas eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day
6:55 For my flesh is meatfood indeed and my blood is drink indeed
6:56 He thatwho eatetheats my flesh and drinkethdrinks my blood abidethabides in me and I in him
6:57 As the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father; so he thatwho eatetheats me hewill also shall live because of me
6:58 This is the bread which came down outfrom of heaven: not such as the fathers ate and died; he thatwho eatetheats this bread shallwill live for ever
6:59 TheseThis thingshe said he in the synagogue as he taught inat CapernaumCaper′na um
6:60 Many therefore of his disciples when they heard thisit said This is a hard saying; who can hearlisten to it
6:61 But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at thisit said untoto them DothDo thisyou causetake youoffense toat stumblethis
6:62 WhatThen thenwhat if yeyou shouldwere beholdto see the Son of man ascending where he was before
6:63 It is the spirit that givethgives life; the flesh profitethis nothing:of no avail; the words that I have spoken untoto you are spirit and are life
6:64 But there are some of you that believedo not believe For Jesus knew from the beginningfirst who theythose were that believeddid not believe and who it was that shouldwould betray him
6:65 And he said ForThis thisis causewhy have I saidtold unto you that no manone can come untoto me exceptunless it beis givengranted unto him ofby the Father
6:66 UponAfter this many of his disciples wentdrew back and walked no morelonger went about with him
6:67 Jesus said thereforeto unto the twelve WouldDo yeyou also wish to go away
6:68 Simon Peter answered him Lord to whom shall we go thouYou hasthave the words of eternal life;
6:69 Andand we have believed and have come to know that thouyou artare the Holy One of God
6:70 Jesus answered them Did I not I choose you the twelve and one of you is a devil
6:71 NowHe hespoke spake of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot for he itone of the twelve was thatto should betray him being one of the twelve
7:1 AndAfter afterthis theseJesus thingswent Jesusabout walked in Galilee:; for he would not walkgo about in JudaeaJudea because the Jews sought to kill him
7:2 Now the feast of the Jews the feast of tabernaclesTabernacles was at hand
7:3 HisSo brethrenhis thereforebrothers said untoto him DepartLeave hencehere and go intoto JudaeaJudea that thyyour disciples also may beholdsee thythe works whichyou thouare doestdoing
7:4 For no man doethworks anything in secret andif himselfhe seekethseeks to be known openly If thouyou doestdo these things manifestshow thyselfyourself to the world
7:5 For even his brethrenbrothers did not believe onin him
7:6 Jesus thereforesaid saithto unto them My time ishas not yet come; but your time is always readyhere
7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hatethhates me because I testify of it that its works are evil
7:8 Go yeto up unto the feast: yourselves; I goam not going up untoto this feast; becausefor my time ishas not yet fulfilledfully come
7:9 AndSo havingsaying said these things unto them he aboderemained still in Galilee
7:10 But whenafter his brethrenbrothers werehad gone up untoto the feast then went he also went up not publicly but as it were in secretprivate
7:11 The Jews thereforewere soughtlooking for him at the feast and saidsaying Where is he
7:12 And there was much murmuringmuttering about him among the multitudespeople concerningWhile him: some said He is a good man; others said NotNo sohe butis heleading leadeth the multitudepeople astray
7:13 Yet nofor manfear spakeof openlythe ofJews himno forone fearspoke openly of the Jewshim
7:14 ButAbout when it was now the midstmiddle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught
7:15 The Jews thereforemarveled marvelledat it saying How knowethis it that this man lettershas havinglearning when he has never learnedstudied
7:16 So Jesus therefore answered them and said My teaching is not mine but his thatwho sent me;
7:17 Ifif any manmans willethwill is to do his will he shall know ofwhether the teaching whether it is offrom God or whether I speakam fromspeaking myselfon my own authority
7:18 He thatwho speakethspeaks fromon himselfhis seekethown authority seeks his own glory:; but he thatwho seekethseeks the glory of him thatwho sent him the same is true and noin unrighteousnesshim there is inno himfalsehood
7:19 Did not Moses give you the law andYet yet none of you doethkeeps the law Why do you seek ye to kill me
7:20 The multitudepeople answered ThouYou hasthave a demon: whoWho seekethis seeking to kill theeyou
7:21 Jesus answered and said unto them I did one workdeed and yeyou all marvel becauseat thereofit
7:22 Moses hathgave given you circumcision not that it is offrom Moses but offrom the fathers; and onyou the sabbath ye circumcise a man upon the sabbath
7:23 If on the sabbath a man receivethreceives circumcision onso the sabbath that the law of Moses may not be broken; are yeyou wrothangry with me because on the sabbath I made a manmans every whit whole onbody thewell sabbath
7:24 JudgeDo not accordingjudge toby appearanceappearances but judge righteouswith right judgment
7:25 Some therefore of themthe people of Jerusalem therefore said Is not this hethe man whom they seek to kill
7:26 And lohere he speakethis speaking openly and they say nothing untoto him Can it be that the rulersauthorities indeedreally know that this is the Christ
7:27 HowbeitYet we know where this man whencecomes hefrom; is:and but when the Christ comethappears no one knowethwill whenceknow where he iscomes from
7:28 So Jesus thereforeproclaimed criedas he taught in the temple teachingYou and saying Ye both know me and you know whencewhere I am;come andfrom But I amhave not come of myselfmy butown accord; he thatwho sent me is true whomand yehim knowyou do not know
7:29 I know him; becausefor I amcome from him and he sent me
7:30 TheySo they sought therefore to takearrest him:; andbut no manone laid hishands hand on him because his hour washad not yet come
7:31 ButYet many of the multitudepeople many believed onin him; and they said When the Christ shallappears come will he do more signs than those which this man hathhas done
7:32 The Pharisees heard the multitudecrowd murmuringthus thesemuttering thingsabout concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to takearrest him
7:33 Jesus thereforethen said YetI ashall littlebe whilewith amyou Ia withlittle youlonger and then I go untoto him thatwho sent me;
7:34 Yeyou shallwill seek me and shallyou will not find me:; and where I am yeyou cannot come
7:35 The Jews therefore said amongto themselvesone Whitheranother willWhere does this man intend to go that we shall not find him willDoes he intend to go untoto the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks
7:36 What isdoes thishe wordmean thatby hesaying saidYou Yewill shall seek me and shallyou will not find me; and whereWhere I am yeyou cannot come
7:37 NowOn on the last day of the feast the great day of the feast Jesus stood up and criedproclaimed saying If any manone thirst let him come untoto me and drink
7:38 He thatwho believethbelieves onin me as the scripture hathhas said fromOut withinof himhis heart shall flow rivers of living water
7:39 ButNow this spake he ofsaid about the Spirit which theythose thatwho believed onin him were to receive:; for as yet the Spirit washad not yetbeen given; because Jesus was not yet glorified
7:40 SomeWhen ofthey theheard multitudethese thereforewords whensome theyof heardthe thesepeople words said This is ofreally a truth the prophet
7:41 Others said This is the Christ But some said WhatIs doth the Christ to come outfrom of Galilee
7:42 HathHas not the scripture said that the Christ comethis ofdescended thefrom seed of David and comes from Bethlehem the village where David was
7:43 So there arosewas a division inamong the multitudepeople becauseover of him
7:44 AndSome some of them wouldwanted haveto takenarrest him; but no manone laid hands on him
7:45 The officers thereforethen camewent back to the chief priests and Pharisees; andwho they said untoto them Why did yeyou not bring him
7:46 The officers answered NeverNo man soever spakespoke like this man
7:47 The Pharisees therefore answered them Are yeyou also led astray you also
7:48 HathHave any of the rulersauthorities believed on him or of the Pharisees believed in him
7:49 But this multitudecrowd thatwho knowethdo not know the law are accursed
7:50 NicodemusNicode′mus saithwho untohad themgone he that came to him before beingand who was one of them said to them
7:51 DothDoes our law judge a man exceptwithout it first heargiving fromhim himselfa hearing and knowlearning what he doethdoes
7:52 They answeredreplied andAre saidyou untofrom himGalilee Arttoo thouSearch alsoand ofyou Galileewill Search and see that outno ofprophet Galileeis arisethto norise prophetfrom Galilee
7:53 [AndThey they went everyeach manto unto his own house:
8:1 but Jesus went untoto the mountMount of Olives
8:2 AndEarly early in the morning he came again intoto the temple; and all the people came untoto him; and he sat down and taught them
8:3 AndThe the scribes and the Pharisees bringbrought a woman takenwho had been caught in adultery; and havingplacing set her in the midst
8:4 they saysaid untoto him Teacher this woman hathhas been takencaught in adulterythe inact theof veryadultery act
8:5 Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such: whatWhat thendo sayestyou thousay ofabout her
8:6 AndThis this they said tryingto test him that they might have whereofsome charge to accusebring against him But Jesus stoopedbent down and wrote with his finger wrote on the ground
8:7 ButAnd whenas they continued askingto ask him he liftedstood up himself and said untoto them HeLet thathim who is without sin among you letbe himthe first castto throw a stone at her
8:8 And againonce more he stoopedbent down and wrote with his finger wrote on the ground
8:9 AndBut they when they heard it they went outaway one by one beginning fromwith the eldest even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone andwith the woman wherestanding shebefore washim in the midst
8:10 And Jesus liftedlooked up himself and said untoto her Woman where are they didHas no manone condemncondemned theeyou
8:11 AndShe she said No manone Lord And Jesus said Neither do I condemn thee:you; go thyand way;do fromnot henceforth sin no more]again
8:12 Again therefore Jesus spakespoke untoto them saying I am the light of the world:; he thatwho followethfollows me shallwill not walk in the darkness but shallwill have the light of life
8:13 The Pharisees thereforethen said untoto him ThouYou bearestare bearing witness ofto thyselfyourself; thyyour witnesstestimony is not true
8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them Even if I do bear witness ofto myself my witnesstestimony is true; for I know whence I camehave come and whither I go;am going but yeyou knowdo not know whence I come or whither I goam going
8:15 YeYou judge afteraccording to the flesh; I judge no manone
8:16 YeaYet andeven if I do judge my judgment is true; for Iit amis not I alone that judge but I and thehe Fatherwho that sent me
8:17 YeaIn and in your law it is written that the witnesstestimony of two men is true;
8:18 I ambear he that beareth witness ofto myself and the Father thatwho sent me bearethbears witness ofto me
8:19 They said thereforeto unto him therefore Where is thyyour Father Jesus answered YeYou know neither me nor my Father:; if yeyou knew me yeyou would know my Father also
8:20 These words spake he spoke in the treasury as he taught in the temple:; andbut no manone tookarrested him; because his hour washad not yet come
8:21 HeAgain he said thereforeto again unto them I go away and yeyou shallwill seek me and shall die in your sin:; whitherwhere I goam yegoing you cannot come
8:22 TheThen Jewssaid thereforethe saidJews Will he kill himself thatsince he saithsays WhitherWhere I goam yegoing you cannot come
8:23 AndHe he said untoto them YeYou are from beneath;below I am from above:; yeyou are of this world; I am not of this world
8:24 I saidtold therefore unto you that yeyou shallwould die in your sins: for exceptyou yewill believedie thatin Iyour amsins heunless yeyou shallbelieve diethat inI youram sinshe
8:25 They said thereforeto unto him Who artare thouyou Jesus said untoto them Even thatwhat which I have alsotold spoken unto you from the beginning
8:26 I have manymuch things to speaksay about you and much to judge; concerningbut you: howbeit he thatwho sent me is true; and I declare to the thingsworld whichwhat I have heard from him these speak I unto the world
8:27 They perceiveddid not understand that he spakespoke to them of the Father
8:28 So Jesus therefore said When yeyou have lifted up the Son of man then shallyou yewill know that I am he and that I do nothing ofon myselfmy own authority but speak thus as the Father taught me I speak these things
8:29 And he thatwho sent me is with me; he hathhas not left me alone; for I do always thedo thingswhat thatis are pleasing to him
8:30 As he spakespoke thesethus things many believed onin him
8:31 Jesus thereforethen said to thosethe Jews thatwho had believed in him If yeyou abidecontinue in my word thenyou are ye truly my disciples;
8:32 and yeyou shallwill know the truth and the truth shallwill make you free
8:33 They answered unto him We are Abrahamsdescendants seedof Abraham and have never yet been in bondage to any man:one howHow sayestis thouit Yethat shallyou say You will be made free
8:34 Jesus answered them VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Everyevery one thatwho committethcommits sin is thea bondservantslave ofto sin
8:35 AndThe theslave bondservantdoes abideth not continue in the house for ever:; the son abidethcontinues for ever
8:36 IfSo thereforeif the Son shallmakes make you free yeyou shallwill be free indeed
8:37 I know that yeyou are Abrahamsdescendants seedof Abraham; yet yeyou seek to kill me because my word hathfinds notno freeplace course in you
8:38 I speak theof thingswhat which I have seen with my Father: and yeyou also do thewhat thingsyou whichhave ye heard from your father
8:39 They answered andhim saidAbraham untois himour Our father is Abraham Jesus saithsaid untoto them If yeyou were Abrahams children yeyou would do thewhat worksAbraham ofdid Abraham
8:40 Butbut now yeyou seek to kill me a man thatwho hathhas told you the truth which I heard from God:; this didis not what Abraham did
8:41 YeYou do thewhat works of your father did They said untoto him We were not born of fornication; we have one Father even God
8:42 Jesus said untoto them If God were your Father yeyou would love me: for I cameproceeded forth and amcame comeforth from God; forI neithercame havenot Iof comemy ofown myselfaccord but he sent me
8:43 Why do yeyou not understand mywhat speechI Evensay It is because yeyou cannot bear to hear my word
8:44 YeYou are of your father the devil and theyour lustswill ofis yourto fatherdo it is your willfathers todesires do He was a murderer from the beginning and standethhas notnothing into do with the truth because there is no truth in him When he speakethlies ahe liespeaks heaccording speakethto of his own: nature for he is a liar and the father thereofof lies
8:45 But because I saytell the truth yeyou do not believe me not
8:46 Which of you convictethconvicts me of sin If I saytell the truth why do yeyou not believe me
8:47 He thatwho is of God hearethhears the words of God:; forthe thisreason causewhy yeyou do not hear them notis becausethat yeyou are not of God
8:48 The Jews answered and said unto him SayAre we not wellright in saying that thouyou artare a Samaritan and hasthave a demon
8:49 Jesus answered I have not a demon; but I honor my Father and yeyou dishonor me
8:50 ButYet I seekdo not mineseek my own glory:; there is oneOne thatwho seekethseeks it and judgethhe will be the judge
8:51 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Ifif aany manone keepkeeps my word he shallwill never see death
8:52 The Jews said untoto him Now we know that thouyou hasthave a demon Abraham died andas did the prophets; and thouyou sayestsay If aany manone keepkeeps my word he shallwill never taste of death
8:53 ArtAre thouyou greater than our father Abraham who died andAnd the prophets died: whomWho makestdo thouyou thyselfclaim to be
8:54 Jesus answered If I glorify myself my glory is nothing:; it is my Father thatwho glorifiethglorifies me; of whom yeyou say that he is your God;
8:55 andBut yeyou have not known him:; but I know him; andIf ifI said I shoulddo saynot I know him not I shallshould be a liar like unto you; a liar: but I do know him and I keep his word
8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he was to see my day; and he saw it and was glad
8:57 The Jews thereforethen said untoto him ThouYou artare not yet fifty years old and hasthave thouyou seen Abraham
8:58 Jesus said untoto them VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Beforebefore Abraham was born I am
8:59 TheySo they took up stones therefore to castthrow at him:; but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple
9:1 AndAs as he passed by he saw a man blind from his birth
9:2 And his disciples asked him saying Rabbi who sinned this man or his parents that he shouldwas be born blind
9:3 Jesus answered NeitherIt didwas not that this man sinsinned noror his parents: but that the works of God shouldmight be made manifest in him
9:4 We must work the works of him thatwho sent me while it is day:; the night comethcomes when no manone can work
9:5 WhenAs long as I am in the world I am the light of the world
9:6 WhenAs he hadsaid thusthis spoken he spat on the ground and made clay of the spittle and anointed histhe mans eyes with the clay
9:7 andsaying saidto unto him Go wash in the pool of SiloamSilo′am which ismeans bySent interpretationSo Senthe He went away therefore and washed and came back seeing
9:8 The neighbors therefore and theythose thatwho sawhad seen him aforetimebefore thatas he was a beggar said Is not this hethe thatman satwho used to sit and beggedbeg
9:9 OthersSome said It is he:; others said No but he is like him He said I am hethe man
9:10 They said thereforeto unto him HowThen thenhow were thineyour eyes opened
9:11 He answered The man that is called Jesus made clay and anointed minemy eyes and said untoto me Go to SiloamSilo′am and wash:; so I went away and washed and I received my sight
9:12 AndThey they said untoto him Where is he He saithsaid I knowdo not know
9:13 They bringbrought to the Pharisees himthe thatman aforetimewho washad formerly been blind
9:14 Now it was thea sabbath on the day when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes
9:15 AgainThe therefore the Pharisees alsoagain asked him how he had received his sight And he said untoto them He put clay uponon minemy eyes and I washed and I see
9:16 Some therefore of the Pharisees said This man is not from God becausefor he keepethdoes not keep the sabbath But others said How can a man thatwho is a sinner do such signs AndThere there was a division among them
9:17 TheySo saythey thereforeagain untosaid to the blind man again What sayestdo thouyou ofsay about him insince that he has opened thineyour eyes AndHe he said He is a prophet
9:18 The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him that he had been blind and had received his sight until they called the parents of himthe thatman who had received his sight
9:19 and asked them saying Is this your son who yeyou say was born blind howHow then dothdoes he now see
9:20 His parents answered and said We know that this is our son and that he was born blind:;
9:21 but how he now seethsees we knowdo not; orknow nor do we know who opened his eyes weAsk know not: ask him; he is of age; he shallwill speak for himself
9:22 TheseHis thingsparents said histhis parents because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had already agreed already that if any manone should confess him to be Christ he shouldwas to be put out of the synagogue
9:23 Therefore said his parents said He is of age; ask him
9:24 So theyfor calledthe a second time they called the man thatwho washad been blind and said untoto him Give gloryGod tothe God:praise; we know that this man is a sinner
9:25 He therefore answered Whether he is a sinner I knowdo not: know; one thing I know that whereasthough I was blind now I see
9:26 They said thereforeto unto him What did he do to theeyou howHow openeddid he thineopen your eyes
9:27 He answered them I have told you evenalready now and yeyou didwould not hear;listen whereforeWhy woulddo yeyou want to hear it again wouldDo yeyou alsotoo want to become his disciples
9:28 And they reviled him andsaying saidYou Thouare art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses
9:29 We know that God hathhas spoken untoto Moses: but as for this man we knowdo not whenceknow where he iscomes from
9:30 The man answered and said unto them Why hereinthis is thea marvel thatYou yedo not know notwhere whence he iscomes from and yet he opened minemy eyes
9:31 We know that God hearethdoes not listen to sinners: but if any manone beis a worshipperworshiper of God and dodoes his will himGod helistens hearethto him
9:32 SinceNever since the world began has it wasbeen never heard that any one opened the eyes of a man born blind
9:34 They answered and said unto him ThouYou wastwere altogether born in sinsutter sin and dostwould thouyou teach us And they cast him out
9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and findinghaving found him he said DostDo thouyou believe onin the Son of Godman
9:36 He answered and said And who is he Lordsir that I may believe onin him
9:37 Jesus said untoto him ThouYou hasthave both seen him and he it is thathe speakethwho withspeaks theeto you
9:38 AndHe he said Lord I believe; Andand he worshippedworshiped him
9:39 And Jesus said For judgment I came I into this world that theythose thatwho seedo not see may see; and that theythose thatwho see may become blind
9:40 ThoseSome of the Pharisees whonear were with him heard thesethis things and they said untoto him Are we also blind
9:41 Jesus said untoto them If yeyou were blind yeyou would have no sin:guilt; but now yethat you say We see: your singuilt remainethremains
10:1 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Hehe thatwho enterethdoes not byenter the doorsheepfold intoby the folddoor of the sheep but climbethclimbs upin someby otheranother way thethat sameman is a thief and a robber;
10:2 Butbut he thatwho enterethenters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep
10:3 To him the portergatekeeper openethopens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he callethcalls his own sheep by name and leadethleads them out
10:4 When he hathhas putbrought forthout all his own he goethgoes before them and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice
10:5 AndA a stranger they will they not follow but they will flee from him: for they knowdo not know the voice of strangers
10:6 This parablefigure spake Jesus untoused with them: but they understooddid not understand what thingshe theywas weresaying whichto he spake unto them
10:7 So Jesus thereforeagain said untoto them againTruly Verilytruly verily I say untoto you I am the door of the sheep
10:8 All thatwho came before me are thieves and robbers:; but the sheep did not hearheed them
10:9 I am the door; by me if any manone enterenters inby me he shallwill be saved and shallwill go in and go out and shall find pasture
10:10 The thief comethcomes notonly butto that he may steal and kill and destroy:; I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly
10:11 I am the good shepherd: theThe good shepherd layethlays down his life for the sheep
10:12 He thatwho is a hireling and not a shepherd whose own the sheep are not beholdethsees the wolf coming and leavethleaves the sheep and fleethflees; and the wolf snatchethsnatches them and scatterethscatters them:
10:13 heHe fleethflees because he is a hireling and carethcares notnothing for the sheep
10:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know minemy own and minemy own know me
10:15 even as the Father knowethknows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep
10:16 And I have other sheep Ithat have which are not of this fold:; them also I must bring them also and they shallwill hearheed my voice; andSo theythere shall becomebe one flock one shepherd
10:17 ThereforeFor doththis reason the Father loveloves me because I lay down my life that I may take it again
10:18 No one takethtakes it away from me but I lay it down of myselfmy own accord I have power to lay it down and I have power to take it again; Thisthis commandmentcharge I have received I from my Father
10:19 There arosewas again a division again among the Jews because of these words
10:20 AndMany many of them said He hathhas a demon and he is mad; why hearlisten yeto him
10:21 Others said These are not the sayings of one possessedwho withhas a demon Can a demon open the eyes of the blind
10:22 AndIt it was the feast of the dedicationDedication at Jerusalem:;
10:23 it was winter; and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomonsthe porchportico of Solomon
10:24 TheSo the Jews thereforegathered came round about him and said untoto him How long dostwill thouyou holdkeep us in suspense If thouyou artare the Christ tell us plainly
10:25 Jesus answered them I told you and yeyou believedo not: thebelieve The works that I do in my Fathers name thesethey bear witness ofto me;
10:26 Butbut yeyou believedo not believe because yeyou aredo not ofbelong to my sheep
10:27 My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me:;
10:28 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish and no one shall snatch them out of my hand
10:29 My Father who hathhas given them untoto me is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Fathers hand
10:32 Jesus answered them ManyI goodhave worksshown haveyou Imany showedgood youworks from the Father; for which of thosethese works do yeyou stone me
10:33 The Jews answered him ForIt is not for a good work that we stone theeyou not but for blasphemy; and because thatyou thou being a man makestmake thyselfyourself God
10:34 Jesus answered them Is it not written in your law I said Yeyou are gods
10:35 If he called them gods untoto whom the word of God came and the scripture cannot be broken
10:36 do you say ye of him whom the Father sanctifiedconsecrated and sent into the world ThouYou blasphemest;are blaspheming because I said I am the Son of God
10:37 If I doam not doing the works of my Father then do not believe me; not
10:38 Butbut if I do them even though yeyou believedo not believe me believe the works: that yeyou may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father
10:39 TheyAgain soughtthey againtried to takearrest him: andbut he wentescaped forthfrom out of their handhands
10:40 AndHe he went away again beyondacross the Jordan intoto the place where John was at the first baptizing;baptized and there he aboderemained
10:41 And many came untoto him; and they said John indeed did no sign: but alleverything thingsthat whatsoever John spakesaid ofabout this man werewas true
10:42 And many believed onin him there
11:1 Now a certain man was sickill LazarusLaz′arus of Bethany of the village of Mary and her sister Martha
11:2 AndIt it was that Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair whose brother LazarusLaz′arus was sickill
11:3 TheSo the sisters therefore sent untoto him saying Lord behold he whom thouyou lovestlove is sickill
11:4 But when Jesus heard it he said This sicknessillness is not unto death; butit is for the glory of God so that the Son of God may be glorified therebyby means of it
11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and LazarusLaz′arus
11:6 WhenSo thereforewhen he heard that he was sickill he abodestayed at that time two days longer in the place where he was
11:7 Then after this he saithsaid to the disciples Let us go into JudaeaJudea again
11:8 The disciples saysaid untoto him Rabbi the Jews were but now seeking to stone thee;you and goestare thouyou thithergoing there again
11:9 Jesus answered Are there not twelve hours in the day If aany manone walkwalks in the day he stumblethdoes not stumble because he seethsees the light of this world
11:10 But if aany manone walkwalks in the night he stumblethstumbles because the light is not in him
11:11 TheseThus thingshe spakespoke he: and afterthen this he saithsaid untoto them Our friend LazarusLaz′arus ishas fallen asleep; but I go thatto I may awake him out of sleep
11:12 The disciples therefore said untoto him Lord if he ishas fallen asleep he will recover
11:13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spakemeant of taking rest in sleep
11:14 Then Jesus thereforetold said unto them plainly LazarusLaz′arus is dead;
11:15 Andand for your sake I am glad for your sakes that I was not there toso thethat intentyou ye may believe; neverthelessBut let us go untoto him
11:16 Thomas thereforecalled whothe isTwin called Didymus said untoto his fellow disciples Let us also go that we may die with him
11:17 SoNow when Jesus came he found that heLaz′arus had already been in the tomb four days already
11:18 Now Bethany was nighnear unto Jerusalem about fifteentwo furlongsmiles off;
11:20 When Martha therefore when she heard that Jesus was coming she went and met him: butwhile Mary still sat in the house
11:21 Martha therefore said untoto Jesus Lord if thouyou hadsthad been here my brother hadwould not have died
11:22 And even now I know that whatsoeverwhatever thouyou shalt ask offrom God God will give theeyou
11:23 Jesus saithsaid untoto her ThyYour brother shallwill rise again
11:24 Martha saithsaid untoto him I know that he shallwill rise again in the resurrection at the last day
11:25 Jesus said untoto her I am the resurrection and the life:; he thatwho believethbelieves onin me though he die yet shall he live;
11:26 and whosoeverwhoever livethlives and believethbelieves onin me shall never die BelievestDo thouyou believe this
11:27 She saithsaid untoto him YeaYes Lord:; I havebelieve believed that thouyou artare the Christ the Son of God even he thatwho comethis coming into the world
11:28 AndWhen when she had said this she went away and called Mary her sister secretlyMary saying quietly The Teacher is here and callethis theecalling for you
11:29 And she when she heard it aroseshe rose quickly and went untoto him
11:30 Now Jesus washad not yet come intoto the village but was still in the place where Martha had met him
11:31 TheWhen the Jews then who were with her in the house and were consoling her when they saw Mary thatrise she rose up quickly and wentgo out they followed her supposing that she was going untoto the tomb to weep there
11:32 Then Mary therefore when she came where Jesus was and saw him fell down at his feet saying untoto him Lord if thouyou hadsthad been here my brother hadwould not have died
11:33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping and the Jews also weeping who came with her also weeping he groanedwas deeply moved in the spirit and was troubled;
11:34 and he said Where have yeyou laid him They saysaid untoto him Lord come and see
11:36 TheSo the Jews therefore said BeholdSee how he loved him
11:37 But some of them said Could not thishe man who opened the eyes of himthe thatblind wasman blind have causedkept that this man alsofrom should not die dying
11:38 Then Jesus thereforedeeply moved again groaningcame in himself cometh to the tomb; Now it was a cave and a stone lay againstupon it
11:39 Jesus saithsaid Take ye away the stone Martha the sister of himthe thatdead wasman deadsaid saithto unto him Lord by this time thethere bodywill decayeth;be an odor for he hathhas been dead four days
11:40 Jesus saithsaid untoto her SaidDid I not untotell theeyou that if thouyou believedstwould thoubelieve shouldestyou would see the glory of God
11:41 So they took away the stone And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said Father I thank thee that thou heardesthast heard me
11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but becauseI ofhave thesaid multitudethis thaton standethaccount aroundof Ithe saidpeople itstanding by that they may believe that thou didst send me
11:43 AndWhen when he had thussaid spokenthis he cried with a loud voice LazarusLaz′arus come forthout
11:44 HeThe thatdead wasman dead came forthout boundhis handhands and footfeet bound with gravebandages clothes; and his face waswrapped bound about with a napkincloth Jesus saithsaid untoto them LooseUnbind him and let him go
11:45 Many therefore of the Jews therefore who camehad tocome with Mary and beheldhad thatseen whichwhat he did believed onin him;
11:46 Butbut some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them thewhat things which Jesus had done
11:47 TheSo the chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered athe council and said What doare we forto do For this man doethperforms many signs
11:48 If we let him go on thus aloneevery allone men will believe onin him: and the Romans will come and takedestroy away both our holy place and our nation
11:49 But a certain one of them CaiaphasCa′iaphas beingwho was high priest that year said untoto them YeYou know nothing at all;
11:50 noryou do yenot takeunderstand account that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people and that the whole nation perishshould not perish
11:51 NowHe thisdid henot saidsay notthis of himself:his own accord but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;
11:52 and not for the nation only but thatto he might also gather together into one the children of God thatwho are scattered abroad
11:53 So from that day forthon they took counsel thathow theyto might put him to death
11:54 Jesus therefore walked no morelonger went about openly among the Jews but departedwent thencefrom intothere to the country near to the wilderness intoto a citytown called EphraimE′phraim; and there he tarriedstayed with the disciples
11:55 Now the passoverPassover of the Jews was at hand: and many went up tofrom Jerusalemthe outcountry ofto theJerusalem country before the passoverPassover to purify themselves
11:56 They soughtwere thereforelooking for Jesus and spakesaying to one with another as they stood in the temple What do you think ye That he will not come to the feast
11:57 Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given commandmentorders that if any manone knew where he was he should showlet itthem know so that they might takearrest him
12:1 JesusSix therefore six days before the passoverPassover Jesus came to Bethany where LazarusLaz′arus was whom Jesus had raised from the dead
12:2 SoThere they made him a supper; there: and Martha served; butand LazarusLaz′arus was one of themthose that sat at meattable with him
12:3 Mary therefore took a pound of costly ointment of pure nard very precious and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair:; and the house was filled with the odorfragrance of the ointment
12:4 But Judas Iscariot one of his disciples thathe shouldwho was to betray him saithsaid
12:5 Why was not this ointment not sold for three hundred shillingsdenarii and given to the poor
12:6 NowThis this he said not becausethat he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief and havingas he had the bagmoney tookbox awayhe used to take what was put thereininto it
12:7 Jesus therefore said SufferLet her toalone let her keep it againstfor the day of my buryingburial
12:8 ForThe the poor yeyou always have always with you; but meyou yedo have not always have me
12:9 TheWhen commonthe peoplegreat thereforecrowd of the Jews learned that he was there: and they came not foronly Jesuson sakeaccount onlyof Jesus but thatalso theyto might see LazarusLaz′arus also whom he had raised from the dead
12:10 ButSo the chief priests tookplanned counselto that they might put LazarusLaz′arus also to death;
12:11 because thaton byaccount reason of him many of the Jews wentwere going away and believedbelieving onin Jesus
12:12 OnThe thenext morrowday a great multitudecrowd thatwho had come to the feast when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem
12:13 So they took the branches of the palm trees and went forthout to meet him andcrying cried out Hosanna: Blessed is he thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord even the King of Israel
12:14 And Jesus having found a young ass and sat thereonupon it; as it is written
12:15 Fear not daughter of Zion:; behold thyyour Kingking comethis coming sitting on an asss colt
12:16 TheseHis thingsdisciples understooddid not hisunderstand disciplesthis at the first:; but when Jesus was glorified then they remembered they that thesethis thingshad werebeen written of him and thathad theybeen had done theseto things unto him
12:17 The multitudecrowd therefore that washad been with him when he called LazarusLaz′arus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead barebore witness
12:18 ForThe thisreason causewhy also the multitudecrowd went andto metmeet him forwas that they heard that he had done this sign
12:19 The Pharisees thereforethen said amongto themselvesone Beholdanother howYou yesee prevailthat you can do nothing; lolook the world ishas gone after him
12:20 Now there were certain Greeks among those thatwho went up to worship at the feast: were some Greeks
12:21 So these therefore came to Philip who was offrom BethsaidaBeth ofsa′ida in Galilee and askedsaid to him saying Sir we wouldwish to see Jesus
12:22 Philip comethwent and tellethtold Andrew:; Andrew comethwent andwith Philip and they telltold Jesus
12:23 And Jesus answerethanswered them saying The hour ishas come thatfor the Son of man shouldto be glorified
12:24 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Exceptunless a grain of wheat fallfalls into the earth and diedies it abidethremains by itself alone; but if it diedies it bearethbears much fruit
12:25 He thatwho lovethloves his life losethloses it; and he thatwho hatethhates his life in this world shallwill keep it untofor eternal life eternal
12:26 If any manone serveserves me lethe himmust follow me; and where I am there shall also my servant be: also; if any manone serveserves me him will the Father will honor him
12:27 Now is my soul troubled; andAnd what shall I say Father save me from this hour ButNo for this causepurpose came I untohave come to this hour
12:28 Father glorify thy name ThereThen came therefore a voice outcame offrom heaven saying I have both glorified it and I will glorify it again
12:29 The multitudecrowd thereforestanding that stood by and heard it and said that it had thundered: othersOthers said An angel hathhas spoken to him
12:30 Jesus answered and said This voice hathhas not come for myyour sake butnot for yourmine sakes
12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the princeruler of this world be cast out;
12:32 Andand I ifwhen I beam lifted up from the earth will draw all men untoto myself
12:33 ButHe said this heto saidshow signifying by what manner of death he shouldwas to die
12:34 The multitudecrowd therefore answered him We have heard outfrom of the law that the Christ abidethremains for ever: andHow howcan sayestyou thousay Thethat the Son of man must be lifted up whoWho is this Son of man
12:35 Jesus therefore said untoto them YetThe alight littleis whilewith isyou thefor lighta amonglittle youlonger Walk while yeyou have the light thatlest the darkness overtake you; not: and he thatwho walkethwalks in the darkness knowethdoes not whitherknow where he goethgoes
12:36 While yeyou have the light believe onin the light that yeyou may become sons of light TheseWhen thingsJesus spakehad Jesussaid andthis he departed and hid himself from them
12:37 ButThough though he had done so many signs before them yet they believeddid not onbelieve in him:;
12:38 it was that the word ofspoken Isaiahby the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: which he spake Lord who hathhas believed our report Andand to whom hathhas the arm of the Lord been revealed
12:39 ForTherefore this cause they could not believe forFor that Isaiah again said again
12:40 He hathhas blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart; Lestlest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their heart Andand should turn Andfor Ime shouldto heal them
12:41 TheseIsaiah things said Isaiahthis because he saw his glory; and hespoke spake of him
12:42 Nevertheless many even of the rulersauthorities many believed onin him; but becausefor fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
12:43 for they loved the glorypraise that is of men more than the glorypraise that is of God
12:44 And Jesus cried out and said He thatwho believethbelieves onin me believethbelieves not onin me but onin him thatwho sent me
12:45 And he thatwho beholdethsees me beholdethsees him thatwho sent me
12:46 I amhave come aas light into the world that whosoeverwhoever believethbelieves onin me may not abideremain in the darkness
12:47 AndIf if any manone hearhears my sayings and does not keep them I do not I judge him; not: for I camedid not come to judge the world but to save the world
12:48 He thatwho rejectethrejects me and receivethdoes not receive my sayings hathhas onea thatjudge; judgeth him: the word that I spakehave thespoken samewill shallbe his judge himon in the last day
12:49 For I spakehave not fromspoken myselfon my own authority; but the Father thatwho sent me hehas hathhimself given me a commandment what Ito should say and what Ito should speak
12:50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life eternal;What theI thingssay therefore which I speaksay even as the Father hathhas saidbidden unto me so I speak
13:1 Now before the feast of the passoverPassover when Jesus knowingknew that his hour washad come thatto he should depart out of this world untoto the Father having loved his own thatwho were in the world he loved them untoto the end
13:2 And during supper when the devil havinghad already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot Simons son to betray him
13:3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands and that he camehad forthcome from God and goethwas untogoing to God
13:4 risethrose from supper andlaid layeth aside his garments; and hegirded tookhimself with a towel and girded himself
13:5 Then he pourethpoured water into thea basin and began to wash the disciples feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewithwith which he was girded
13:6 SoHe hecame cometh to Simon Peter; Heand saithPeter untosaid to him Lord dostdo thouyou wash my feet
13:7 Jesus answered and said unto him What I doam thoudoing knowestyou do not know now; but thouafterward shaltyou will understand hereafter
13:8 Peter saithsaid untoto him ThouYou shaltshall never wash my feet Jesus answered him If I do not wash theeyou notyou thouhave hast no part within me
13:9 Simon Peter saithsaid untoto him Lord not my feet only but also my hands and my head
13:10 Jesus saithsaid to him He thatwho ishas bathed needethdoes not saveneed to wash except for his feet but he is clean everyall whit:over; and yeyou are clean but not allevery one of you
13:11 For he knew himwho thatwas shouldto betray him; thereforethat saidwas why he Yesaid You are not all clean
13:12 SoWhen when he had washed their feet and taken his garments and satresumed downhis againplace he said untoto them KnowDo yeyou know what I have done to you
13:13 YeYou call me Teacher and Lord:; and yeyou sayare well;right for so I am
13:14 If I then theyour Lord and the Teacher have washed your feet yeyou also ought to wash one anothers feet
13:15 For I have given you an example that yeyou also should do as I have done to you
13:16 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Aa servant is not greater than his lordmaster; neithernor oneis thathe who is sent greater than he thatwho sent him
13:17 If yeyou know these things blessed are yeyou if yeyou do them
13:18 I speakam not speaking of you all:; I know whom I have chosen:; butit is that the scripture may be fulfilled He thatwho eatethate my bread has lifted up his heel against me
13:19 From henceforth I tell you this now before it cometakes toplace pass that when it isdoes cometake toplace passyou ye may believe that I am he
13:20 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Hehe thatwho receivethreceives whomsoeverany one whom I send receivethreceives me; and he thatwho receivethreceives me receivethreceives him thatwho sent me
13:21 When Jesus had thus saidspoken he was troubled in the spirit and testified andTruly saidtruly Verily verily I say untoto you that one of you shallwill betray me
13:22 The disciples looked at one on another doubtinguncertain of whom he spakespoke
13:23 ThereOne wasof athis thedisciples tablewhom recliningJesus inloved Jesuswas bosomlying oneclose ofto histhe disciplesbreast whomof Jesus; loved
13:24 so Simon Peter thereforebeckoned beckoneth to him and saithsaid unto him Tell us who it is of whom he speakethspeaks
13:25 HeSo leaninglying backthus asclose heto wasthe onbreast of Jesus breasthe saithsaid untoto him Lord who is it
13:26 Jesus thereforeanswered answerethIt Heis ithe isto for whom I shall dipgive thethis sopmorsel andwhen giveI have dipped it him So when he had dipped the sopmorsel he takethgave and giveth it to Judas the son of Simon Iscariot
13:27 AndThen after the sopmorsel thenSatan entered Satan into him Jesus thereforesaid saithto unto him What thouyou doestare going to do do quickly
13:28 Now no manone at the table knew forwhy what intent he spakesaid this untoto him
13:29 ForSome some thought that because Judas had the bagmoney thatbox Jesus saidwas untotelling him Buy what things we have need of for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor
13:30 HeSo thenafter havingreceiving received the sopmorsel he immediately went out; straightway: and it was night
13:31 When therefore he washad gone out Jesus saithsaid Now is the Son of man glorified and in him God is glorified in him;
13:32 andif God shallis glorified in him God will also glorify him in himself and straightwayglorify shallhim heat glorifyonce him
13:33 Little children yet a little while I am with you YeYou shallwill seek me:; and as I said untoto the Jews Whitherso now I gosay yeto cannotyou come;Where so now I sayam untogoing you cannot come
13:34 A new commandment I give untoto you that yeyou love one another; even as I have loved you that yeyou also love one another
13:35 By this shall all men will know that yeyou are my disciples if yeyou have love for one to another
13:36 Simon Peter saithsaid untoto him Lord whitherwhere goestare thouyou going Jesus answered WhitherWhere I goam thougoing canstyou notcannot follow me now; but thouyou shaltshall follow afterwardsafterward
13:37 Peter saithsaid untoto him Lord why cannot I follow theeyou even now I will lay down my life for theeyou
13:38 Jesus answerethanswered WiltWill thouyou lay down thyyour life for me VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto theeyou Thethe cock shallwill not crow till thouyou hasthave denied me thricethree times
14:1 Let not your hearthearts be troubled:; believe in God believe also in me
14:2 In my Fathers house are many mansionsrooms; if it were not so would I would have told you; forthat I go to prepare a place for you
14:3 And ifwhen I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and will receivetake you untoto myself; that where I am thereyou ye may be also
14:4 And whitheryou I go ye know the way where I am going
14:5 Thomas saithsaid untoto him Lord we knowdo not whitherknow thouwhere goestyou are going; how knowcan we know the way
14:6 Jesus saithsaid untoto him I am the way and the truth and the life:; no one comethcomes untoto the Father but by me
14:7 If yeyou had known me yeyou would have known my Father also:; from henceforth yeyou know him and have seen him
14:8 Philip saithsaid untoto him Lord show us the Father and itwe sufficethshall usbe satisfied
14:9 Jesus saithsaid untoto him Have I been with you so long timeand withyet you anddo dost thou not know me Philip heHe thatwho hathhas seen me hathhas seen the Father; how sayestcan thouyou say Show us the Father
14:10 BelievestDo thouyou not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me theThe words that I say untoto you I speakdo not fromspeak myself:on my own authority; but the Father abidingwho dwells in me doethdoes his works
14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me:; or else believe me for the verysake of the works sake themselves
14:12 VerilyTruly verilytruly I say untoto you Hehe thatwho believethbelieves onin me will also do the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shallwill he do; because I go untoto the Father
14:13 AndWhatever whatsoeveryou ye shall ask in my name thatI will I do it that the Father may be glorified in the Son;
14:14 Ifif yeyou shall ask anything in my name thatI will I do it
14:15 If yeyou love me yeyou will keep my commandments
14:16 And I will pray the Father and he shallwill give you another ComforterCounselor thatto he may be with you for ever
14:17 even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; forbecause it beholdethneither sees him notnor neitherknows knoweth him:; yeyou know him; for he abidethdwells with you and shallwill be in you
14:18 I will not leave you desolate:; I will come untoto you
14:19 Yet a little while and the world beholdethwill see me no more; but yeyou beholdwill see me:; because I live yeyou shallwill live also
14:20 In that day yeyou shallwill know that I am in my Father and yeyou in me and I in you
14:21 He thatwho hathhas my commandments and keepethkeeps them he it is thatwho lovethloves me:; and he thatwho lovethloves me shallwill be loved ofby my Father and I will love him and will manifest myself untoto him
14:22 Judas not Iscariot saithsaid untoto him Lord whathow is comeit to pass that thouyou wiltwill manifest thyselfyourself untoto us and not untoto the world
14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him If a man loveloves me he will keep my word: and my Father will love him and we will come untoto him and make our abodehome with him
14:24 He thatwho lovethdoes not love me does not keepethkeep not my words:; and the word which yeyou hear is not mine but the Fathers who sent me
14:25 These things I have I spoken untoto you while yetI abidingam still with you
14:26 But the ComforterCounselor even the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name he shallwill teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said untoto you

14:31 but I do as the Father has commanded me so that the world may know that I love the Father andRise as the Father gave me commandment even so I do Arise let us go hence
15:1 I am the true vine and my Father is the husbandmanvinedresser
15:2 Every branch inof memine that bearethbears notno fruit he takethtakes it away: and every branch that bearethdoes bear fruit he cleansethprunes it that it may bear more fruit
15:3 AlreadyYou ye are already made clean becauseby of the word which I have spoken untoto you
15:4 Abide in me and I in you As the branch cannot bear fruit ofby itself exceptunless it abideabides in the vine; so neither can yeyou exceptunless yeyou abide in me
15:5 I am the vine yeyou are the branches: He thatwho abidethabides in me and I in him thehe sameit bearethis that bears much fruit: for apart from me yeyou can do nothing
15:6 If a man abidedoes not abide in me he is cast forth as a branch and is witheredwithers; and theythe gatherbranches themare andgathered castthrown them into the fire and they are burned
15:7 If yeyou abide in me and my words abide in you ask whatsoeverwhatever yeyou will and it shall be done untofor you
15:8 HereinBy isthis my Father is glorified that yeyou bear much fruit; and so shallprove yeto be my disciples
15:9 EvenAs as the Father hathhas loved me Iso also have I loved you:; abide ye in my love
15:10 If yeyou keep my commandments yeyou shallwill abide in my love; evenjust as I have kept my Fathers commandments and abide in his love
15:11 These things I have I spoken untoto you that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be made full
15:12 This is my commandment that yeyou love one another even as I have loved you
15:13 Greater love hathhas no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends
15:14 YeYou are my friends if yeyou do thewhat things which I command you
15:15 No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knowethdoes not know what his lordmaster doeth:is doing; but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known untoto you
15:16 YeYou did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you that yeyou should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide:; so that whatsoeverwhatever yeyou shall ask of the Father in my name he may give it to you
15:17 TheseThis things I command you thatto ye may love one another
15:18 If the world hatethhates you ye know that it hathhas hated me before it hated you
15:19 If yeyou were of the world the world would love its own:; but because yeyou are not of the world but I chose you out of the world therefore the world hatethhates you
15:20 Remember the word that I said untoto you A servant is not greater than his lordmaster If they persecuted me they will also persecute you; if they kept my word they will keep yours also

17:2 evensince as thou gavesthast given him authoritypower over all flesh thatto give eternal life to all whom thou hast given him he should give eternal life
17:3 And this is eternal life eternal that they should know thee the only true God and himJesus Christ whom thou didsthast sendsent even Jesus Christ
17:4 I glorified thee on the earth having accomplished the work which thou hastgavest given me to do;
17:5 Andand now Father glorify thou me within thinethy own selfpresence with the glory which I had with thee before the world was made
17:6 I have manifested thy name untoto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world:; thine they were and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word
17:7 Now they know that alleverything thingsthat whatsoever thou hast given me areis from thee:;
17:8 for I have given them the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they have received them and knewknow ofin a truth that I came forth from thee; and they have believed that thou didst send me
17:9 I prayam praying for them:; I prayam not praying for the world but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:;
17:10 and all things that are mine are thine and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them
17:11 And now I am no more in the world andbut thesethey are in the world and I comeam coming to thee Holy Father keep them in thy name which thou hast given me that they may be one even as we are one
17:12 While I was with them I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me:; and I have guarded them and notnone one of them perishedis lost but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled
17:13 But now I comeam coming to thee; and these things I speak in the world that they may have my joy madefulfilled full in themselves
17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world even as I am not of the world
17:15 I praydo not pray that thou shouldestshouldst take them fromout of the world but that thou shouldestshouldst keep them from the evil one
17:17 Sanctify them in the truth:; thy word is truth

17:20 NeitherI do not pray for these only dobut Ialso pray but for themthose alsowho that believe onin me through their word;
17:21 that they may all be one; even as thou Father art in me and I in thee that they also may be in us: so that the world may believe that thou didsthast sendsent me
17:22 AndThe the glory which thou hast given me I have given untoto them; that they may be one even as we are one;

17:24 Father I desire that they also whom thou hast given me may be with me where I am thatto they may behold my glory which thou hast given me: forin thouthy lovedstlove for me before the foundation of the world
17:25 O righteous Father the world knewhas not known thee not but I knewhave known thee; and these knewknow that thou didsthast sendsent me;
17:26 and I made known untoto them thy name and I will make it known; that the love wherewithwith which thou lovedsthast loved me may be in them and I in them
18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words he went forth with his disciples overacross the brook Kidron valley where there was a garden into which he entered himself and his disciples entered
18:2 Now Judas also who betrayed him also knew the place:; for Jesus oftoften timesmet resortedthere thither with his disciples
18:3 So Judas thenprocuring havinga received the band of soldiers and some officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees comethwent thitherthere with lanterns and torches and weapons
18:4 Then Jesus therefore knowing all the things that werewas comingto uponbefall him wentcame forthforward and saithsaid untoto them Whom do you seek ye
18:5 They answered him Jesus of Nazareth Jesus saithsaid untoto them I am he And Judas also who betrayed him was standing with them
18:6 When therefore he said untoto them I am he they wentdrew backwardback and fell to the ground
18:7 Again therefore he asked them Whom do you seek ye And they said Jesus of Nazareth
18:8 Jesus answered I told you that I am he; so if thereforeyou ye seek me let these men go their way:
18:9 thatThis thewas wordto mightfulfil bethe fulfilledword which he spakehad spoken Of those whom thou hastgavest given me I lost not one
18:10 Then Simon Peter therefore having a sword drew it and struck the high priests servantslave and cut off his right ear NowThe theslaves servants name was Malchus
18:11 Jesus therefore said untoto Peter Put upyour the sword into theits sheath:; shall I not drink the cup which the Father hathhas given me shall I not drink it
18:12 So the band of soldiers and thetheir chief captain and the officers of the Jews seized Jesus and bound him
18:13 andFirst they led him to Annas first; for he was the father in law toof CaiaphasCa′iaphas who was high priest that year
18:14 NowIt Caiaphas was heCa′iaphas thatwho gavehad given counsel to the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people
18:15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus and so did another disciple NowAs thatthis disciple was known untoto the high priest andhe entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest; along with Jesus
18:16 butwhile Peter wasstood standingoutside at the door without So the other disciple who was known untoto the high priest went out and spakespoke untoto herthe thatmaid who kept the door and brought Peter in Peter
18:17 The maid thereforewho that kept the door saithsaid untoto Peter ArtAre thounot you also one of this mans disciples He saithsaid I am not
18:18 Now the servants and the officers werehad standing there having made a charcoal fire ofbecause coals; for it was cold; and they were standing and warming themselves:; and Peter also was with them standing and warming himself
18:19 The high priest thereforethen askedquestioned Jesus ofabout his disciples and of his teaching
18:20 Jesus answered him I have spoken openly to the world; I everhave always taught in synagogues and in the temple where all the Jews come together; andI inhave secretsaid spakenothing Isecretly nothing
18:21 Why askestdo thouyou ask me askAsk themthose thatwho have heard me what I spakesaid untoto them:; beholdthey these know thewhat things which I said
18:22 AndWhen when he had said this one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand saying AnswerestIs thouthat how you answer the high priest so
18:23 Jesus answered him If I have spoken evilwrongly bear witness ofto the evil:wrong; but if wellI have spoken rightly why smitestdo thouyou strike me
18:24 Annas thereforethen sent him bound untoto CaiaphasCa′iaphas the high priest
18:25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself They said thereforeto unto him ArtAre thounot you also one of his disciples He denied it and said I am not
18:26 One of the servants of the high priest being a kinsman of himthe man whose ear Peter had cut off saithasked Did I not I see theeyou in the garden with him
18:27 Peter thereforeagain denied again:it; and straightwayat once the cock crewcrowed
18:28 TheyThen leadthey led Jesus therefore from Caiaphasthe intohouse of Ca′iaphas to the Praetorium:praetorium andIt it was early; andThey they themselves entereddid not intoenter the Praetoriumpraetorium so that they might not be defiled but might eat the passover
18:29 So Pilate therefore went out untoto them and saithsaid What accusation do you bring ye against this man
18:30 They answered and said unto him If this man were not an evilevildoer doer we shouldwould not have deliveredhanded him upover unto thee
18:31 Pilate therefore said untoto them Take him yourselves and judge him accordingby to your own law The Jews said untoto him It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
18:32 thatThis was to fulfil the word ofwhich Jesus mighthad bespoken fulfilledto whichshow he spake signifying by what manner of death he shouldwas to die
18:33 Pilate therefore entered againthe intopraetorium theagain Praetorium and called Jesus and said untoto him ArtAre thouyou the King of the Jews
18:34 Jesus answered SayestDo thouyou say this of thyselfyour own accord or did others tellsay it theeto concerningyou about me
18:35 Pilate answered Am I a Jew ThineYour own nation and the chief priests deliveredhave theehanded untoyou over to me:; what hasthave thouyou done
18:36 Jesus answered My kingdomkingship is not of this world:; if my kingdomkingship were of this world then would my servants would fight that I shouldmight not be deliveredhanded over to the Jews:; but nowmy kingship is my kingdom not from hencethe world
18:37 Pilate therefore said untoto him ArtSo thouyou are a king then Jesus answered ThouYou sayestsay that I am a king ToFor this end have I beenwas born and tofor this endI amhave I come into the world thatto I should bear witness untoto the truth Every one thatwho is of the truth hearethhears my voice
18:38 Pilate saithsaid untoto him What is truth AndAfter when he had said this he went out againto unto the Jews again and saithtold unto them I find no crime in him
18:39 But yeyou have a custom that I should release untoone man for you one at the passover:Passover; will yeyou thereforehave thatme I release untofor you the King of the Jews
18:40 They cried out therefore again saying Not this man but BarabbasBarab′bas Now BarabbasBarab′bas was a robber
19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged him
19:2 And the soldiers plattedplaited a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple garmentrobe;
19:3 and they came untoup to him andsaying said Hail King of the Jews and they struck him with their hands
19:4 And Pilate went out again and saithsaid untoto them BeholdSee I bringam bringing him out to you that yeyou may know that I find no crime in him
19:5 So Jesus therefore came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garmentrobe And Pilate saithsaid untoto them Behold the man
19:6 When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him they cried out saying Crucify him crucify him Pilate saithsaid untoto them Take him yourselves and crucify him: for I find no crime in him
19:7 The Jews answered him We have a law and by that law he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God
19:8 When Pilate therefore heard thisthese sayingwords he was the more afraid;
19:9 and he entered into the Praetoriumpraetorium again and saithsaid untoto Jesus WhenceWhere artare thouyou from But Jesus gave him no answer
19:10 Pilate therefore saithsaid untoto him SpeakestYou thouwill not untospeak to me knowestDo thouyou not know that I have power to release theeyou and have power to crucify theeyou
19:11 Jesus answered him ThouYou wouldestwould have no power againstover me exceptunless it werehad been given theeyou from above:; therefore he thatwho delivered me untoto theeyou hathhas the greater sin
19:12 Upon this Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out saying If thouyou release this man thouyou artare not Caesars friend:; every one thatwho makethmakes himself a king speakethsets himself against Caesar
19:13 When Pilate therefore heard these words he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Pavement butand in Hebrew GabbathaGab′batha
19:14 Now it was the day of Preparation of the passover:Passover; it was about the sixth hour AndHe hesaid saithto unto the Jews Behold your King
19:15 They therefore cried out Away with him away with him crucify him Pilate saithsaid untoto them Shall I crucify your King The chief priests answered We have no king but Caesar
19:16 Then therefore he deliveredhanded him untoover to them to be crucified
19:17 TheySo they took Jesus therefore: and he went out bearing thehis own cross forto himself unto the place called Thethe place of a skull which is called in Hebrew Golgotha:Gol′gotha
19:18 whereThere they crucified him and with him two others one on either side one and Jesus inbetween thethem midst
19:19 And Pilate also wrote a title also and put it on the cross; Andit thereread was written Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews
19:20 ThisMany titleof thereforethe Jews read manythis oftitle the Jews for the place where Jesus was crucified was nighnear to the city; and it was written in Hebrew and in Latin and in Greek
19:21 The chief priests of the Jews thereforethen said to Pilate WriteDo not write The King of the Jews; but thatThis heman said I am King of the Jews
19:23 TheWhen the soldiers therefore when they had crucified Jesus they took his garments and made four parts toone everyfor each soldier a part; and also thehis coat:tunic nowBut the coattunic was without seam woven from the top throughoutto bottom;
19:24 Theyso they said thereforeto one to another Let us not rendtear it but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be: thatThis thewas scriptureto mightfulfil bethe fulfilledscripture which saith They parted my garments among them Andand uponfor my vestureclothing did they cast lots
19:25 TheseSo things therefore the soldiers did this But there were standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mothers sister Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary MagdaleneMag′dalene
19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciple standing by whom he loved standing near he saithsaid untoto his mother Woman behold thyyour son
19:27 Then saith he said to the disciple Behold thyyour mother And from that hour the disciple took her untoto his own home
19:28 After this Jesus knowing that all thingswas are now finished thatsaid to fulfil the scripture might be accomplished saith I thirst
19:29 ThereA wasbowl set there a vessel full of vinegar: stood there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar uponon hyssop and broughtheld it to his mouth
19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar he said It is finished:; and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit
19:31 TheSince Jews therefore because it was the day of Preparation thatin order to prevent the bodies shouldfrom notremaining remain on the cross uponon the sabbath for the day of that sabbath was a high day the Jews asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away
19:32 TheSo the soldiers therefore came and brakebroke the legs of the first and of the other thatwho washad been crucified with him:;
19:33 but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead already they brakedid not break his legs:
19:34 howbeitBut one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear piercedand hisat sideonce and straightway there came out blood and water
19:35 AndHe hewho thatsaw hathit seenhas hath borne witness and —his witnesstestimony is true: and he knowethknows that he saithtells truethe truth—that yeyou also may believe
19:36 For these things cametook toplace pass that the scripture might be fulfilled ANot a bone of him shall not be broken
19:37 And again another scripture saithsays They shall look on him whom they have pierced
19:38 AndAfter afterthis these things Joseph of ArimathaeaArimathe′a beingwho was a disciple of Jesus but secretly for fear of the Jews asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave HeSo he came therefore and took away his body
19:39 AndNicode′mus there came also Nicodemuswho hehad who at the first camecome to him by night came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes about a hundred pounds weight
19:40 SoThey they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices as is the burial custom of the Jews is to bury
19:41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new tomb whereinwhere wasno neverone manhad yetever been laid
19:42 ThereSo then because of the JewsJewish day of Preparation foras the tomb was nighclose at hand they laid Jesus there
20:1 Now on the first day of the week cometh Mary MagdaleneMag′dalene came to the tomb early while it was yetstill dark untoand thesaw tombthat and seeth the stone had been taken away from the tomb
20:2 SheSo runnethshe thereforeran and comethwent to Simon Peter and to the other disciple the one whom Jesus loved and saithsaid untoto them They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb and we knowdo not know where they have laid him
20:3 Peter thereforethen wentcame forthout andwith the other disciple and they went toward the tomb
20:4 AndThey theyboth ran bothbut together: and the other disciple outran Peter and camereached first to the tomb first;
20:5 and stooping andto lookinglook in he seethsaw the linen cloths lying; yetthere enteredbut he did not go in
20:6 Then Simon Peter thereforecame also cometh following him and enteredwent into the tomb; and he beholdethsaw the linen cloths lying
20:7 and the napkin thatwhich washad uponbeen on his head not lying with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself
20:8 Then entered in therefore the other disciple also who camereached the tomb first toalso thewent tombin and he saw and believed;
20:9 Forfor as yet they knewdid not know the scripture that he must rise again from the dead
20:10 SoThen the disciples went awayback againto unto their own homehomes
20:11 But Mary wasstood standingweeping withoutoutside at the tomb weeping:and so as she wept she stooped andto lookedlook into the tomb;
20:12 and she beholdethsaw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had lain one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had lain
20:13 AndThey theysaid sayto unto her Woman why weepestare thouyou weeping She saithsaid untoto them Because they have taken away my Lord and I knowdo not know where they have laid him
20:14 WhenSaying shethis had thus said she turned herselfround back and beholdethsaw Jesus standing andbut knewshe did not know that it was Jesus
20:15 Jesus saithsaid untoto her Woman why weepestare thouyou whomweeping seekestWhom thoudo Sheyou supposingseek Supposing him to be the gardener saithshe untosaid to him Sir if thouyou hasthave bornecarried him henceaway tell me where thouyou hasthave laid him and I will take him away
20:16 Jesus saithsaid untoto her Mary She turnethturned herself and saithsaid untoto him in Hebrew Rabboni;Rab bo′ni which ismeans to say Teacher
20:17 Jesus saithsaid to her TouchDo not hold me not; for I amhave not yet ascended untoto the Father:; but go untoto my brethren and say to them I ascendam untoascending to my Father and your Father andto my God and your God
20:18 Mary MagdaleneMag′dalene comethwent and tellethsaid to the disciples I have seen the Lord; and she told them that he had said these things untoto her
20:19 WhenOn thereforethe it was evening onof that day the first day of the week and when the doors werebeing shut where the disciples were for fear of the Jews Jesus came and stood inamong thethem midst and saithsaid untoto them Peace be untowith you
20:20 AndWhen when he had said this he showed unto them his hands and his side TheThen the disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord
20:21 Jesus therefore said to them again Peace be untowith you: asAs the Father hathhas sent me even so I send I you
20:22 And when he had said this he breathed on them and saithsaid untoto them Receive ye the Holy Spirit:
20:23 whoseIf soeveryou forgive the sins yeof forgiveany they are forgiven; untoif them;you whoseretain soeverthe sins yeof retainany they are retained
20:24 ButNow Thomas one of the twelve called Didymusthe Twin was not with them when Jesus came
20:25 TheSo the other disciples thereforetold said unto him We have seen the Lord But he said untoto them ExceptUnless I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and putplace my finger intoin the printmark of the nails and putplace my hand intoin his side I will not believe
20:26 AndEight after eight days againlater his disciples were withinagain in the house and Thomas was with them JesusThe cometh the doors beingwere shut but Jesus came and stood inamong thethem midst and said Peace be untowith you
20:27 Then saith he said to Thomas ReachPut hitheryour thy finger here and see my hands; and reachput hitherout thyyour hand and putplace it intoin my side:; anddo not be not faithless but believing
20:28 Thomas answered and said unto him My Lord and my God
20:29 Jesus saithsaid untoto him BecauseHave thouyou hastbelieved seenbecause meyou thouhave hastseen believed:me blessedBlessed are theythose thatwho have not seen and yet have believedbelieve
20:30 ManyNow otherJesus signsdid thereforemany didother Jesussigns in the presence of the disciples which are not written in this book:;
20:31 but these are written that yeyou may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God; and that believing yeyou may have life in his name
21:1 After thesethis things Jesus manifestedrevealed himself again to the disciples atby the seaSea of TiberiasTibe′ri as; and he manifestedrevealed himself onin this wiseway
21:2 There were together Simon Peter and Thomas called Didymusthe andTwin NathanaelNathan′a el of Cana in Galilee and the sons of ZebedeeZeb′edee and two otherothers of his disciples were together
21:3 Simon Peter saithsaid untoto them I goam agoing fishing They saysaid untoto him We alsowill comego with theeyou They went forthout and enteredgot into the boat; andbut that night they tookcaught nothing
21:4 ButJust whenas day was now breaking Jesus stood on the beach:; yet the disciples knewdid not know that it was Jesus
21:5 Jesus thereforesaid saithto unto them Children have yeyou aughtany tofish eat They answered him No
21:6 AndHe he said untoto them Cast the net on the right side of the boat and yeyou shallwill find Theysome So they cast thereforeit and now they were not able to drawhaul it in for the multitudequantity of fishesfish
21:7 That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved saithsaid untoto Peter It is the Lord SoWhen when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord he girtput on his coatclothes about him for he was nakedstripped for work and castsprang himself into the sea
21:8 But the other disciples came in the little boat dragging the net full of fish for they were not far from the land but about twoa hundred cubitsyards off dragging the net full of fishes
21:9 SoWhen when they got out uponon the land they seesaw a charcoal fire of coals there andwith fish laidlying thereonon it and bread
21:10 Jesus saithsaid untoto them Bring some of the fish whichthat yeyou have nowjust takencaught
21:11 So Simon Peter therefore went upaboard and drewhauled the net toashore land full of greatlarge fishesfish a hundred and fifty and three: of them; and foralthough all there were so many the net was not renttorn
21:12 Jesus saithsaid untoto them Come and breakhave yourbreakfast fastNow And none of the disciples durstdared inquireask of him Who artare thouyou knowingThey thatknew it was the Lord
21:13 Jesus comethcame and takethtook the bread and givethgave it to them and so with the fish likewise
21:14 This iswas now the third time that Jesus was manifestedrevealed to the disciples after that he was risenraised from the dead
21:15 SoWhen when they had brokenfinished theirbreakfast fast Jesus saithsaid to Simon Peter Simon son of John lovestdo thouyou love me more than these He saithsaid untoto him YeaYes Lord; thouyou knowestknow that I love theeyou He saithsaid untoto him Feed my lambs
21:16 HeA saithsecond totime himhe againsaid ato secondhim time Simon son of John lovestdo thouyou love me He saithsaid untoto him YeaYes Lord; thouyou knowestknow that I love theeyou He saithsaid untoto him Tend my sheep
21:17 He saithsaid untoto him the third time Simon son of John lovestdo thouyou love me Peter was grieved because he said untoto him the third time LovestDo thouyou love me And he said untoto him Lord thouyou knowestknow all thingseverything; thouyou knowestknow that I love theeyou Jesus saithsaid untoto him Feed my sheep
