Beware lest HezekiahHezeki′ah persuademislead you by saying JehovahThe Lord will deliver us HathHas any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria |
| 36:19 |
Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad whereWhere are the gods of SepharvaimSepharva′im andHave have they delivered SamariaSamar′ia out of my hand |
| 36:20 |
Who are they among all the gods of these countries that have delivered their countrycountries out of my hand that Jehovahthe Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand |

It may be Jehovahthat thythe Lord your God willheard hear the words of Rabshakehthe Rab′shakeh whom his master the king of Assyria hishas master hath sent to defymock the living God and will rebuke the words which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas heard:; whereforetherefore lift up thyyour prayer for the remnant that is left |

Thus shall yeyou speak to HezekiahHezeki′ah king of Judah: sayingDo Let not thylet your God inon whom thouyou trustestrely deceive theeyou sayingby promising that Jerusalem shallwill not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria |
| 37:11 |
Behold thouyou hasthave heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly: andAnd shaltshall thouyou be delivered |
| 37:12 |
Have the gods of the nations delivered them the nations which my fathers have destroyed Gozan and Haran and Rezeph and the childrenpeople of Eden thatwho were in TelassarTel assar |
| 37:13 |
Where is the king of Hamath and the king of Arpad and the king of the city of SepharvaimSepharva′im the king of Hena andor the king of Ivvah |
| 37:14 |
AndHezeki′ah Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and HezekiahHezeki′ah went up untoto the house of Jehovahthe Lord and spread it before Jehovahthe Lord |

| 37:16 |
O JehovahLord of hosts the God of Israel thatwho sittestart enthroned above the cherubim thou art the God even thou alone of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth |
| 37:17 |
Incline thinethy ear O JehovahLord and hear; open thinethy eyes O JehovahLord and see; and hear all the words of SennacheribSennach′erib whowhich hathhe has sent to defymock the living God |
| 37:18 |
Of a truth JehovahO Lord the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the countriesnations and their landlands |
| 37:19 |
and have cast their gods into the fire:; for they were no gods but the work of mens hands wood and stone; therefore they havewere destroyed them |
| 37:20 |
NowSo thereforenow O JehovahLord our God save us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou alone art Jehovahthe even thou onlyLord |
| 37:21 |
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent untoto HezekiahHezeki′ah saying Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord the God of Israel: WhereasBecause thouyou hasthave prayed to me againstconcerning SennacheribSennach′erib king of Assyria |

| 37:23 |
Whom hasthave thouyou defiedmocked and blasphemedreviled andAgainst against whom hasthave thouyou exaltedraised thyyour voice and haughtily lifted upyour thine eyes onAgainst high even against the Holy One of Israel |
| 37:24 |
By thyyour servants hastyou thouhave defiedmocked the Lord and hastyou have said With themy multitudemany of my chariots am I comehave gone up to the heightheights of the mountains to the innermostfar partsrecesses of Lebanon; and I willfelled cutits downtallest the tall cedars thereofits andchoicest the choice fir trees thereofcypresses; and I willcame enterto into its farthestremotest height the forest of its fruitfuldensest field; forest |

Thereforewhile their inhabitants wereshorn of smallstrength powerare they were dismayed and confounded; theyand werehave asbecome thelike grassplants of the field and aslike thetender greengrass herblike as the grass on the housetops andblighted as a field of grain before it is grown up |
| 37:28 |
But I know thyyour sitting down and thyyour going out and thy coming in and thyyour raging against me |
| 37:29 |
Because ofyou thyhave ragingraged against me and becauseyour thinearrogance arrogancyhas is come upto intomy mine ears thereforeI will I put my hook in thyyour nose and my bridlebit in thyyour lipsmouth and I will turn theeyou back byon the way by which thouyou camestcame |
| 37:30 |
And this shall be the sign untofor theeyou: ye shall eat this year thateat whichwhat growethgrows of itself and in the second year thatwhat whichsprings springeth of the same; andthen in the third year sow ye and reap and plant vineyards and eat thetheir fruit thereof |
| 37:31 |
And the surviving remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward; |
| 37:32 |
Forfor out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant and out of mountMount Zion theya thatband shallof escapesurvivors The zeal of Jehovahthe Lord of hosts will performaccomplish this |
| 37:33 |
Therefore thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come untointo this city noror shoot an arrow there neitheror shall he come before it with a shield noror cast up a siege mound against it |
| 37:34 |
By the way that he came by the same he shall he return and he shall not come untointo this city saithsays Jehovahthe Lord |
