| 1:1 |
In many and various ways God havingspoke of old timeto spokenour unto the fathers inby the prophets; by divers portions and in divers manners |
| 1:2 |
hathbut atin thethese endlast ofdays thesehe dayshas spoken untoto us inby hisa Son whom he appointed the heir of all things through whom also he madecreated the worlds;world |
| 1:3 |
whoHe beingreflects the effulgenceglory of hisGod glory and bears the very imagestamp of his substancenature and upholding allthe thingsuniverse by thehis word of his power whenWhen he had made purification offor sins he sat down onat the right hand of the Majesty on high; |
| 1:4 |
having become byas so much bettersuperior thanto the angels as the name he hathhas inheritedobtained ais more excellent name than they theirs |
| 1:5 |
For untoto whichwhat ofangel thedid angelsGod saidever hesay at any time Thou art my Son Thistoday dayI have I begotten thee andOr again I will be to him a Fatherfather Andand he shall be to me a Sonson |
| 1:6 |
And again when he againbrings bringeththe infirst theborn firstborn into the world he saithsays AndLet let all theGods angels of God worship him |
| 1:7 |
AndOf of the angels he saithsays Who makethmakes his angels winds Andand his ministersservants aflames flame of fire: |
| 1:8 |
butBut of the Son he saithsays Thy throne O God is for ever and ever; And the sceptrerighteous ofscepter uprightness is the sceptrescepter of thy kingdom |
| 1:9 |
Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquitylawlessness; Thereforetherefore God thy God hathhas anointed thee Withwith the oil of gladness abovebeyond thy fellowscomrades |
| 1:10 |
And Thou Lord in the beginning didst layfound the foundationearth ofin the earthbeginning Andand the heavens are the workswork of thy hands:; |
| 1:11 |
Theythey shallwill perish; but thou continuest:remainest; And they will all shallgrow wax old aslike doth a garment; |
| 1:12 |
Andlike as a mantle shalt thou wilt roll them up As a garment and they shallwill be changed: But thou art the same Andand thy years shallwill notnever failend |
| 1:13 |
But ofto whichwhat ofangel thehas angelshe hathever he said at any time Sit thouat on my right hand Tilltill I make thinethy enemies thea footstoolstool offor thy feet |
| 1:14 |
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to doserve service for the sake of themthose thatwho shallare inheritto obtain salvation |
| 2:1 |
Therefore we oughtmust topay give the morecloser earnestattention heed to thewhat thingswe thathave were heard lest haply we drift away from themit |
| 2:2 |
For if the wordmessage spokendeclared throughby angels provedwas stedfastvalid and every transgression andor disobedience received a just recompenseretribution of reward; |
| 2:3 |
how shall we escape if we neglect sosuch a great a salvation whichIt havingwas declared at the first beenby spoken through the Lord and it was confirmedattested untoto us by themthose thatwho heard; him |
| 2:4 |
while God also bearingbore witness with them both by signs and wonders and byvarious manifoldmiracles powers and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his own will |
| 2:5 |
For it was not untoto angels didthat heGod subjectsubjected the world to come whereofof which we speakare speaking |
| 2:6 |
ButIt onehas hathbeen somewhere testified sayingsomewhere What is man that thou art mindful of him Oror the son of man that thou visitestcarest for him |
| 2:7 |
Thou madestdidst make him for a little while lower than the angels; Thouthou crownedsthast crowned him with glory and honor And didst set him over the works of thy hands: |
| 2:8 |
Thouputting didsteverything put all things in subjection under his feet ForNow in thatputting heeverything subjectedin allsubjection thingsto unto him he left nothing thatoutside ishis notcontrol subjectAs toit himis But now we seedo not yet allsee thingseverything subjectedin subjection to him |
| 2:9 |
But we beholdsee himJesus who hathfor been made a little while was made lower than the angels evencrowned Jesuswith glory and honor because of the suffering of death crownedso with glory and honor that by the grace of God he shouldmight taste of death for every man one |
| 2:10 |
For it becamewas himfitting that he for whom are all things and throughby whom are all things exist in bringing many sons untoto glory toshould make the authorpioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferingssuffering |
| 2:11 |
For both he thatwho sanctifiethsanctifies and theythose thatwho are sanctified arehave all of one: fororigin whichThat causeis why he is not ashamed to call them brethren |
| 2:12 |
saying I will declareproclaim thy name untoto my brethren Inin the midst of the congregation will I singwill thypraise praisethee |
| 2:13 |
And again I will put my trust in him And again BeholdHere am I and the children whom God hathhas given me |
| 2:14 |
Since thentherefore the children areshare sharers in flesh and blood he also himself inlikewise like manner partook of the same; nature that through death he might bringdestroy to nought him thatwho hadhas the power of death that is the devil; |
| 2:15 |
and might deliver all themthose who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to lifelong bondage |
| 2:16 |
For verilysurely it is not towith angels doththat he giveis helpconcerned but hewith giveth help to the seeddescendants of Abraham |
| 2:17 |
WhereforeTherefore ithe behoovedhad him in all things to be made like unto his brethren in every respect so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in thingsthe pertainingservice toof God to make propitiationexpiation for the sins of the people |
| 2:18 |
For inbecause that he himself hathhas suffered beingand been tempted he is able to succorhelp themthose thatwho are tempted |
| 3:1 |
WhereforeTherefore holy brethren partakerswho ofshare in a heavenly callingcall consider Jesus the Apostleapostle and Highhigh Priestpriest of our confession even Jesus; |
| 3:2 |
whoHe was faithful to him thatwho appointed him just as Moses also was Mosesfaithful in allGods his house |
| 3:3 |
ForYet heJesus hathhas been counted worthy of as much more glory than Moses by so much as hethe thatbuilder builtof thea house hathhas more honor than the house |
| 3:4 |
For every house is buildedbuilt by some one; but hethe thatbuilder builtof all things is God |
| 3:5 |
AndNow Moses indeed was faithful in all hisGods house as a servant forto atestify testimonyto ofthe those things whichthat were afterward to be spoken; later |
| 3:6 |
but Christ was faithful over Gods house as a son overAnd hiswe house;are whosehis house are we if we hold fast our boldnessconfidence and thepride gloryingin of our hope firm unto the end |
| 3:7 |
WhereforeTherefore even as the Holy Spirit saithsays ToToday daywhen ifyou ye shall hear his voice |
| 3:8 |
Hardendo not harden your hearts as in the provocationrebellion Likeon as in the day of thetesting trial in the wilderness |
| 3:9 |
Wherewhere your fathers triedput me byto provingthe metest Andand saw my works for forty years |
| 3:10 |
WhereforeTherefore I was displeasedprovoked with thisthat generation Andand said They do always errgo astray in their heart:hearts; But they didhave not knowknown my ways; |
| 3:11 |
As I swareswore in my wrath They shall notnever enter into my rest |
| 3:12 |
Take heedcare brethren lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil unbelieving heart ofleading unbeliefyou into fallingfall away from the living God: |
| 3:13 |
butBut exhort one another dayevery by day soas long as it is called Totoday day;that lestnone any one of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin: |
| 3:14 |
forFor we areshare becomein partakers of Christ if only we hold fastour thefirst beginning of our confidence firm untoto the end: |
| 3:15 |
while it is said ToToday daywhen ifyou ye shall hear his voice Hardendo not harden your hearts as in the provocationrebellion |
| 3:16 |
ForWho whowere when they that heard didand provokeyet naywere didrebellious Was it not all theythose thatwho cameleft outEgypt ofunder Egyptthe byleadership of Moses |
| 3:17 |
And with whom was he displeasedprovoked forty years wasWas it not with themthose thatwho sinned whose bodies fell in the wilderness |
| 3:18 |
And to whom swaredid he swear that they should notnever enter into his rest but to themthose thatwho were disobedient |
| 3:19 |
AndSo we see that they were notunable able to enter in because of unbelief |
| 4:1 |
LetTherefore uswhile fearthe thereforepromise lestof haplyentering ahis promiserest beingremains leftlet ofus enteringfear intolest his rest any one of you shouldbe seemjudged to have comefailed shortto ofreach it |
| 4:2 |
For indeed we have had good tidingsnews preachedcame untoto us evenjust as alsoto they:them; but the wordmessage ofwhich hearingthey heard did not profitbenefit them because it wasdid not unitedmeet bywith faith within themthe thathearers heard |
| 4:3 |
For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hathhas said As I swareswore in my wrath They shall notnever enter into my rest: although thehis works were finished from the foundation of the world |
| 4:4 |
For he hathhas said somewhere spoken of the seventh day onin this wiseway And God rested on the seventh day from all his works; |
| 4:5 |
andAnd again in this place againhe said They shall notnever enter into my rest |
| 4:6 |
SeeingSince therefore it remainethremains thatfor some shouldto enter thereintoit and theythose towho whomformerly received the good tidingsnews were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience |
| 4:7 |
again he againsets defineth a certain day ToToday day saying inthrough David so long a time afterward evenin asthe hathwords beenalready saidquoted beforeToday Towhen dayyou if ye shall hear his voice Hardendo not harden your hearts |
| 4:8 |
For if Joshua had given them rest heGod would not havespeak spokenlater afterward of another day |
| 4:9 |
ThereSo remaineththen thereforethere remains a sabbath rest for the people of God; |
| 4:10 |
Forfor hewhoever thatenters isGods entered into his rest hath himself also restedceases from his workslabors as God did from his |
| 4:11 |
Let us therefore givestrive diligence to enter into that rest that no manone fall afterby the same examplesort of disobedience |
| 4:12 |
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword and piercing even to the dividingdivision of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow and quickdiscerning to discern the thoughts and intentsintentions of the heart |
| 4:13 |
And therebefore ishim no creature that is nothidden manifest in his sight: but all things are nakedopen and laid openbare beforeto the eyes of him with whom we have to do |
| 4:14 |
HavingSince then we have a great high priest who hathhas passed through the heavens Jesus the Son of God let us hold fast our confession |
| 4:15 |
For we have not a high priest thatwho cannotis beunable touchedto sympathize with the feeling of our infirmities;weaknesses but one thatwho hathin beenevery inrespect allhas pointsbeen tempted like as we are yet without sin |
| 4:16 |
Let us thereforethen with confidence draw near withto boldness unto the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help us in time of need |
| 5:1 |
For every high priest beingchosen taken from among men is appointed forto act on behalf of men in thingsrelation pertaining to God thatto he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: |
| 5:2 |
whoHe can beardeal gently with the ignorant and erringwayward forsince that he himself also is compassedbeset with infirmity;weakness |
| 5:3 |
andBecause byof reasonthis thereofhe is bound asto offer sacrifice for thehis peopleown sosins alsoas well as for himselfthose toof offerthe forpeople sins |
| 5:4 |
And noone mandoes takethnot take the honor untoupon himself but when he is called ofby God evenjust as was Aaron was |
| 5:5 |
So also Christ alsodid glorified not exalt himself to be made a high priest but hewas thatappointed spakeby untohim who said to him Thou art my Son Thistoday dayI have I begotten thee:; |
| 5:6 |
as he saithsays also in another place Thou art a priest for ever Afterafter the order of MelchizedekMelchiz′edek |
| 5:7 |
WhoIn in the days of his flesh havingJesus offered up prayers and supplications with strongloud cryingcries and tears untoto him thatwho was able to save him from death and havinghe beenwas heard for his godly fear |
| 5:8 |
thoughAlthough he was a Son yethe learned obedience bythrough thewhat things which he suffered; |
| 5:9 |
and havingbeing been made perfect he became untothe allsource themof thateternal obeysalvation himto theall authorwho ofobey eternalhim salvation; |
| 5:10 |
namedbeing ofdesignated by God a high priest after the order of MelchizedekMelchiz′edek |
| 5:11 |
OfAbout whomthis we have manymuch things to say andwhich is hard ofto interpretationexplain seeingsince yeyou arehave become dull of hearing |
| 5:12 |
For whenthough by reasonthis of the time yeyou ought to be teachers yeyou have need again that some one to teach you theagain rudiments of the first principles of theGods oraclesword ofYou God; and are become such as have need of milk and not of solid food; |
| 5:13 |
Forfor every one thatwho partakethlives ofon milk is withoutunskilled experiencein of the word of righteousness; for he is a babechild |
| 5:14 |
But solid food is for fullgrownthe menmature evenfor those who byhave reasontheir offaculties usetrained haveby theirpractice senses exercised to discerndistinguish good andfrom evil |
| 6:1 |
WhereforeTherefore leavinglet theus doctrineleave of the firstelementary principlesdoctrine of Christ letand usgo press on untoto perfection;maturity not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God |
| 6:2 |
ofwith theinstruction teachingabout ofablutions baptismsthe and of laying on of hands andthe of resurrection of the dead and of eternal judgment |
| 6:3 |
And this we will we do if God permitpermits |
| 6:4 |
For asit touchingis impossible to restore again to repentance those who werehave once been enlightened andwho have tasted of the heavenly gift and werehave madebecome partakers of the Holy Spirit |
| 6:5 |
and have tasted the goodgoodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come |
| 6:6 |
andif they then fellcommit awayapostasy itsince is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afreshon their own account and puthold him up to ancontempt open shame |
| 6:7 |
For the land which hathhas drunk the rain that comethoften oftfalls upon it and bringethbrings forth herbsvegetation meetuseful forto themthose for whose sake it is alsocultivated tilledreceives receivetha blessing from God: |
| 6:8 |
butBut if it bearethbears thorns and thistles it is rejectedworthless and nighnear untoto abeing cursecursed; whoseits end is to be burned |
| 6:9 |
ButThough beloved we arespeak persuadedthus betteryet thingsin ofyour youcase andbeloved thingswe thatfeel accompanysure salvationof thoughbetter wethings thusthat speak:belong to salvation |
| 6:10 |
forFor God is not unrighteousso unjust as to forgetoverlook your work and the love which yeyou showed towardfor his namesake in thatserving ye ministered unto the saints andas you still do minister |
| 6:11 |
And we desire that each one of you mayto show the same diligenceearnestness untoin realizing the fulnessfull assurance of hope evenuntil to the end: |
| 6:12 |
so that yeyou bemay not be sluggish but imitators of themthose who through faith and patience inherit the promises |
| 6:13 |
For when God made a promise to Abraham since he couldhad swearno one greater by nonewhom greaterto swear he swareswore by himself |
| 6:14 |
saying Surely blessing I will bless theeyou and multiplying I will multiply theeyou |
| 6:15 |
And thus Abraham having patiently endured he obtained the promise |
| 6:16 |
ForMen menindeed swear by thea greater: than themselves and in everyall disputetheir ofdisputes theirsan the oath is final for confirmation |
| 6:17 |
WhereinSo when God beingdesired minded to show more abundantlyconvincingly untoto the heirs of the promise the immutabilityunchangeable character of his counselpurpose he interposed with an oath; |
| 6:18 |
so that bythrough two immutableunchangeable things in which it is impossible forthat God toshould lieprove false we maywho have afled strongfor encouragementrefuge whomight have fledstrong forencouragement refuge to layseize hold of the hope set before us: |
| 6:19 |
whichWe we have this as ana sure and steadfast anchor of the soul a hope boththat sureenters and stedfast and entering into thatthe whichinner isshrine withinbehind the veil;curtain |
| 6:20 |
whitherwhere Jesus has gone as a forerunner Jesuson enteredour forbehalf us having become a high priest for ever after the order of MelchizedekMelchiz′edek |
| 7:1 |
For this MelchizedekMelchiz′edek king of Salem priest of Godthe Most High whoGod met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him; |
| 7:2 |
and to whomhim also Abraham dividedapportioned a tenth part of alleverything beingHe is first by interpretationtranslation Kingof his name king of righteousness and then he is also Kingking of Salem whichthat is Kingking of peace; |
| 7:3 |
He is without father withoutor mother withoutor genealogy havingand has neither beginning of days nor end of life but maderesembling like unto the Son of God abidethhe continues a priest continuallyfor ever |
| 7:4 |
NowSee consider how great thishe manis was unto whom Abraham the patriarch gave him a tenthtithe out of the chief spoils |
| 7:5 |
And theythose indeeddescendants of the sons of Levi thatwho receive the priestspriestly office have a commandment in the law to take tithes offrom the people according to the law that is offrom their brethren though these havealso comeare outdescended offrom the loins of Abraham: |
| 7:6 |
butBut hethis whoseman genealogywho ishas not countedtheir fromgenealogy themreceived hath taken tithes offrom Abraham and hath blessed him thatwho hathhad the promises |
| 7:7 |
ButIt withoutis anybeyond dispute that the lessinferior is blessed ofby the bettersuperior |
| 7:8 |
AndHere heretithes menare thatreceived dieby receivemortal tithesmen; but there by one of whom it is witnessedtestified that he livethlives |
| 7:9 |
AndOne somight toeven say throughthat AbrahamLevi evenhimself Levi who receivethreceives tithes hath paid tithes; through Abraham |
| 7:10 |
for he was yetstill in the loins of his fatherancestor when MelchizedekMelchiz′edek met him |
| 7:11 |
Now if thereperfection washad perfectionbeen attainable through the LeviticalLevit′ical priesthood for under it hath the people received the law what further need waswould there thathave been for another priest shouldto arise after the order of MelchizedekMelchiz′edek andrather notthan beone reckonednamed after the order of Aaron |
| 7:12 |
For when there is a change in the priesthood being changed there is madenecessarily of necessity a change alsoin of the law as well |
| 7:13 |
For hethe one of whom these things are saidspoken belongethbelonged to another tribe from which no manone hathhas givenever attendanceserved at the altar |
| 7:14 |
For it is evident that our Lord hathwas sprungdescended outfrom of Judah; asand toin whichconnection with that tribe Moses spakesaid nothing concerningabout priests |
| 7:15 |
AndThis whatbecomes weeven saymore isevident yetwhen moreanother abundantlypriest evidentarises ifin after the likeness of MelchizedekMelchiz′edek there ariseth another priest |
| 7:16 |
who hathhas beenbecome madea priest not afteraccording theto lawa oflegal arequirement carnalconcerning commandmentbodily descent but afterby the power of an endlessindestructible life: |
| 7:17 |
forFor it is witnessed of him Thou art a priest for ever Afterafter the order of MelchizedekMelchiz′edek |
| 7:18 |
ForOn therethe isone hand a disannullingformer ofcommandment ais foregoingset commandmentaside because of its weakness and unprofitablenessuselessness |
| 7:19 |
for the law made nothing perfect; andon athe bringingother inhand thereupon of a better hope is introduced through which we draw nighnear untoto God |
| 7:20 |
And inasmuch as it iswas not without the taking of an oath |
| 7:21 |
forThose theywho indeedformerly havebecame beenpriests madetook prieststheir office without an oath; but hethis one was addressed with an oath by him that saith of him The Lord swarehas sworn and will not repentchange himselfhis mind Thou art a priest for ever; |
| 7:22 |
byThis somakes much also hath Jesus become the surety of a better covenant |
| 7:23 |
AndThe theyformer indeedpriests havewere been made priests many in number because thatthey were prevented by death theyfrom arecontinuing hinderedin fromoffice; continuing: |
| 7:24 |
but he holds his priesthood permanently because he abidethcontinues for ever hath his priesthood unchangeable |
| 7:25 |
WhereforeConsequently also he is able tofor saveall time to thesave uttermostthose themwho that draw near untoto God through him seeingsince he everalways livethlives to make intercession for them |
| 7:26 |
For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest became us holy guilelessblameless undefiledunstained separated from sinners andexalted madeabove higher than the heavens; |
| 7:27 |
whoHe needethhas notno dailyneed like those high priests to offer up sacrifices daily first for his own sins and then for thethose sins of the people:; for this he did this once for all when he offered up himself |
| 7:28 |
ForIndeed the law appointethappoints men in their weakness as high priests having infirmity; but the word of the oath which wascame afterlater than the law appointethappoints a Son perfectedwho has been made perfect for evermoreever |
| 8:1 |
Now in the thingspoint whichin what we are saying the chief point is this: Wewe have such a high priest one who satis downseated onat the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in theheaven heavens |
| 8:2 |
a minister ofin the sanctuary and of the true tabernacletent which theis Lordset pitchedup not by man but by the Lord |
| 8:3 |
For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices:; whereforehence it is necessary thatfor this high priest also to have somewhatsomething to offer |
| 8:4 |
Now if he were on earth he would not be a priest at all seeingsince there are thosepriests who offer the gifts according to the law; |
| 8:5 |
whoThey serve that which is a copy and shadow of the heavenly thingssanctuary; evenfor aswhen Moses iswas warnedabout ofto Goderect whenthe tent he iswas aboutinstructed toby makeGod thesaying tabernacle: for See saith he that thouyou make alleverything things according to the pattern thatwhich was showedshown theeyou inon the mountmountain |
| 8:6 |
But nowas hathit heis Christ has obtained a ministry thewhich is as much more excellent bythan sothe muchold as hethe iscovenant alsohe themediates mediatoris of a better covenantsince whichit hathis been enacted uponon better promises |
| 8:7 |
For if that first covenant had been faultless thenthere would no place have been soughtno occasion for a second |
| 8:8 |
For findinghe finds fault with them when he saithsays: BeholdThe the days will come saithsays the Lord Thatwhen I will makeestablish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; |
| 8:9 |
Notnot accordinglike to the covenant that I made with their fathers Inon the day thatwhen I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; Forfor they continueddid not continue in my covenant Andand so I regardedpaid no heed to them notsays saith the Lord |
| 8:10 |
ForThis this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel Afterafter those days saithsays the Lord;: I will put my laws into their mindminds Andand write them on their hearthearts alsoand will I write them: And I will be totheir them a God Andand they shall be tomy me a people: |
| 8:11 |
And they shall not teach every manone his fellow citizenor And every manone his brother saying Know the Lord: Forfor all shall know me Fromfrom the least of them to the greatest of them |
| 8:12 |
For I will be merciful totoward their iniquities Andand theirI sins will I remember their sins no more |
| 8:13 |
In thatspeaking heof saitha A new covenant he hathtreats made the first oldas Butobsolete thatAnd whichwhat is becoming oldobsolete and waxethgrowing agedold is nighready untoto vanishingvanish away |
| 9:1 |
Now even the first covenant had ordinancesregulations offor divineworship service and itsan sanctuaryearthly a sanctuary of this world |
| 9:2 |
For therea tent was a tabernacle prepared the firstouter whereinone in which were the candlesticklampstand and the table and the showbreadbread of the Presence; whichit is called the Holy placePlace |
| 9:3 |
AndBehind after the second veilcurtain thestood tabernaclea whichtent is called the Holy of holies;Holies |
| 9:4 |
having athe golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant overlaidcovered roundon aboutall sides with gold whereinwhich wascontained a golden poturn holding the manna and Aarons rod that budded and the tables of the covenant; |
| 9:5 |
and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat; ofOf whichthese things we cannot now speak severallyin detail |
| 9:6 |
NowThese thesepreparations things having thus been thusmade prepared the priests go in continually into the firstouter tabernacletent accomplishingperforming thetheir servicesritual duties; |
| 9:7 |
but into the second only the high priest alonegoes and he but once ina the year and not without taking blood which he offerethoffers for himself and for the errors of the people: |
| 9:8 |
By this the Holy Spirit thisindicates signifying that the way into the holysanctuary placeis hath not yet beenopened madeas manifestlong whileas the firstouter tabernacletent is yetstill standing; |
| 9:9 |
which is asymbolic figure for the time present; accordingage According to whichthis arearrangement offered both gifts and sacrifices thatare offered which cannot asperfect touching the conscience makeof the worshipperworshiper perfect |
| 9:10 |
beingbut deal only with meatsfood and drinksdrink and diversvarious washingsablutions carnalregulations ordinancesfor the body imposed until athe time of reformation |
| 9:11 |
But when Christ havingappeared comeas a high priest of the good things tothat have come then through the greater and more perfect tabernacletent not made with hands that is to say not of this creation |
| 9:12 |
norhe yetentered throughonce for all into the Holy Place taking not the blood of goats and calves but through his own blood enteredthus insecuring oncean for all into the holy place having obtained eternal redemption |
| 9:13 |
For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a heifer sprinklingsanctifies themfor that have been defiled sanctify unto the cleannesspurification of the flesh: |
| 9:14 |
how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish untoto God cleansepurify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God |
| 9:15 |
AndTherefore for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant so that athose deathwho havingare takencalled placemay forreceive the redemptionpromised ofeternal theinheritance transgressionssince thata weredeath underhas theoccurred firstwhich covenantredeems theythem thatfrom have been called may receive the promisetransgressions ofunder the eternalfirst inheritancecovenant |
| 9:16 |
For where a testamentwill is thereinvolved must of necessity be the death of himthe thatone who made it must be established |
| 9:17 |
For a testamentwill istakes ofeffect forceonly whereat theredeath hathsince beenit death:is fornot itin dothforce neveras availlong whileas hethe thatone who made it livethis alive |
| 9:18 |
WhereforeHence even the first covenant hathwas not beenratified dedicated without blood |
| 9:19 |
For when every commandment of the law had been spokendeclared by Moses untoto all the people according to the law he took the blood of the calves and the goats with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people |
| 9:20 |
saying This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to you ward |
| 9:21 |
MoreoverAnd in the tabernaclesame andway allhe sprinkled with the vesselsblood ofboth the ministrytent heand sprinkledall inthe likevessels mannerused within theworship blood |
| 9:22 |
AndIndeed accordingunder to the law I may almost sayeverything allis thingspurified are cleansed with blood and apartwithout fromthe shedding of blood there is no remissionforgiveness of sins |
| 9:23 |
ItThus it was necessary thereforefor that the copies of the heavenly things into the heavens should be cleansedpurified with these; rites but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these |
| 9:24 |
For Christ has entered not into a holysanctuary place made with hands likea incopy patternof to the true; one but into heaven itself now to appear beforein the facepresence of God foron us:our behalf |
| 9:25 |
norNor yetwas thatit heto should offer himself oftenrepeatedly as the high priest enterethenters into the holyHoly placePlace yearyearly by year with blood not his own; |
| 9:26 |
elsefor mustthen he oftenwould have sufferedhad to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world: butBut nowas it is he has appeared once for all at the end of the agesage hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself |
| 9:27 |
And inasmuchjust as it is appointed untofor men once to die once and after thisthat comethcomes judgment; |
| 9:28 |
so Christ also having been offered once offered to bear the sins of many shallwill appear a second time apartnot fromto deal with sin but to themsave thatthose waitwho are eagerly waiting for him unto salvation |
| 10:1 |
For since the law havinghas but a shadow of the good things to come notinstead of the verytrue imageform of thethese thingsrealities it can never withby the same sacrifices yearwhich byare yearcontinually whichoffered theyyear offerafter continuallyyear make perfect themthose thatwho draw nighnear |
| 10:2 |
ElseOtherwise would they not have ceased to be offered becauseIf the worshippersworshipers havinghad once been once cleansed they would haveno hadlonger nohave moreany consciousness of sinssin |
| 10:3 |
But in thosethese sacrifices there is a remembrancereminder made of sinssin year byafter year |
| 10:5 |
WhereforeConsequently when heChrist comethcame into the world he saithsaid SacrificeSacrifices and offeringofferings thou wouldesthast not Butdesired but a body didsthast thou prepareprepared for me; |
| 10:6 |
Inin whole burnt offerings and sacrificessin forofferings sin thou hadsthast taken no pleasure: |
| 10:7 |
Then I said I Lo I amhave come Into thedo rollthy ofwill theO bookGod as it is written of me Toin dothe thyroll willof Othe Godbook |
| 10:8 |
SayingWhen he said above SacrificesThou andhast offeringsneither anddesired wholenor burnttaken offeringspleasure andin sacrifices forand sinofferings thouand wouldestburnt notofferings neitherand hadstsin pleasureofferings thereinthese the which are offered according to the law |
| 10:9 |
then hath he saidadded Lo I amhave come to do thy will He takethabolishes away the first thatin heorder mayto establish the second |
| 10:10 |
ByAnd whichby that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all |
| 10:11 |
And every priest indeedstands standethdaily dayat byhis dayservice ministering and offering oftentimesrepeatedly the same sacrifices the which can never take away sins: |
| 10:12 |
butBut he when heChrist had offered onefor all time a single sacrifice for sins forhe ever sat down onat the right hand of God; |
| 10:13 |
henceforththen expectingto tillwait until his enemies should be made thea footstoolstool offor his feet |
| 10:14 |
For by onea single offering he hathhas perfected for everall themtime thatthose who are sanctified |
| 10:15 |
And the Holy Spirit also bearethbears witness to us; for after he hath saidsaying |
| 10:16 |
This is the covenant that I will make with them Afterafter those days saithsays the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearthearts Andand upon their mind also will I write them; thenon saiththeir heminds |
| 10:17 |
Andthen he adds I will remember their sins and their iniquitiesmisdeeds will I remember no more |
| 10:18 |
NowWhere wherethere remissionis forgiveness of these is there is no morelonger any offering for sin |
| 10:19 |
HavingTherefore therefore brethren boldnesssince we have confidence to enter into the holysanctuary place by the blood of Jesus |
| 10:20 |
by the new and living way which he dedicatedopened for us a new and living way through the veilcurtain that is tothrough say his flesh; |
| 10:21 |
and havingsince we have a great priest over the house of God; |
| 10:22 |
let us draw near with a true heart in fulnessfull assurance of faith havingwith our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience: and having our bodybodies washed with pure water |
| 10:23 |
letLet us hold fast the confession of our hope thatwithout itwavering waver not; for he who promised is faithful; that promised: |
| 10:24 |
and let us consider how to stir up one another to provoke unto love and good works; |
| 10:25 |
not forsakingneglecting ourto ownmeet assembling together as is the customhabit of some is but exhortingencouraging one another; and soall much the more as yeyou see the dayDay drawing nighnear |
| 10:26 |
For if we sin wilfullydeliberately after thatreceiving we have received the knowledge of the truth there remaineth no morelonger remains a sacrifice for sins |
| 10:27 |
but a certain fearful expectationprospect of judgment and a fiercenessfury of fire which shallwill devourconsume the adversaries |
| 10:28 |

| 10:30 |
For we know him thatwho said Vengeance belongethis untomine me I will recompenserepay And again The Lord shallwill judge his people |
| 10:32 |
But callrecall to remembrance the former days inwhen which after yeyou were enlightened yeyou endured a greathard conflictstruggle ofwith sufferings; |
| 10:33 |
partlysometimes being madepublicly aexposed gazingstockto bothabuse by reproaches and afflictions;affliction and partlysometimes becomingbeing partakerspartners with themthose that were so usedtreated |

For yeyou both had compassion on themthe thatprisoners were in bonds and tookyou joyfully accepted the spoilingplundering of your possessionsproperty knowingsince thatyou yeknew havethat foryou yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one |
| 10:35 |
CastTherefore do not throw away therefore your boldnessconfidence which hathhas a great recompense of reward |
| 10:36 |
For yeyou have need of patienceendurance so that havingyou donemay do the will of God yeand may receive thewhat promiseis promised |
| 10:37 |
For yet a very little while Heand thatthe comethcoming one shall come and shall not tarry; |
| 10:38 |
Butbut my righteous one shall live by faith: Andand if he shrinkshrinks back my soul hathhas no pleasure in him |
| 10:39 |
But we are not of themthose thatwho shrink back untoand perdition;are destroyed but of themthose thatwho have faith untoand thekeep savingtheir of the soulsouls |
| 11:1 |
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for athe conviction of things not seen |
| 11:2 |
For thereinby it the eldersmen hadof witnessold bornereceived todivine themapproval |

| 11:13 |
These all died in faith not having received thewhat promiseswas promised but having seen themit and greeted themit from afar and having confessedacknowledged that they were strangers and pilgrimsexiles on the earth |
| 11:14 |
For theypeople thatwho sayspeak suchthus things make it manifestclear that they are seeking after a countryhomeland of their own |
| 11:15 |
AndIf if indeed they had been mindfulthinking of that countryland from which they wenthad gone out they would have had opportunity to return |
| 11:16 |
But nowas it is they desire a better country that is a heavenly: whereforeone Therefore God is not ashamed of them to be called their God; for he hathhas prepared for them a city |
| 11:17 |
By faith Abraham beingwhen triedhe was tested offered up Isaac: yeaand he thatwho had gladly received the promises was offeringready to offer up his only begotten son; |

It is for chasteningdiscipline that yeyou have to endure; God dealethis withtreating you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father chastenethdoes not discipline |

ButIf ifyou ye are left without chasteningdiscipline whereofin which all have beenparticipated madethen partakersyou then are yeillegitimate bastardschildren and not sons |
