19:9 AndBut they said Stand back And they said This one fellow came in to sojourn and he willwould needsplay bethe a judge: nowNow we will we deal worse with theeyou than with them AndThen they pressed sorehard uponagainst the man even Lot and drew near to break the door
19:10 But the men put forth their handhands and brought Lot into the house to them and shut to the door
19:11 And they smotestruck with blindness the men thatwho were at the door of the house with blindness both small and great so that they wearied themselves togroping findfor the door

19:23 The sun washad risen uponon the earth when Lot came untoto Zoar Zo′ar
19:24 Then Jehovahthe Lord rained uponon Sodom and uponGomor′rah Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovahthe Lord out of heaven;
19:25 and he overthrew those cities and all the Plainvalley and all the inhabitants of the cities and thatwhat which grew uponon the ground

20:1 AndFrom there Abraham journeyed from thence toward the landterritory of the SouthNegeb and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar
20:2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife She is my sister: andAnd AbimelechAbim′elech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah
20:3 But God came to AbimelechAbim′elech in a dream ofby the night and said to him Behold thouyou artare but a dead man because of the woman whom thouyou hasthave taken; for she is a mans wife
20:4 Now AbimelechAbim′elech had not comeapproached near her:; andso he said Lord wilt thou slay evenan ainnocent righteouspeople nation
20:5 SaidDid he not himself untosay to me She is my sister andAnd she even she herself said He is my brother: inIn the integrity of my heart and the innocencyinnocence of my hands I have I done this
20:6 AndThen God said untoto him in the dream YeaYes I know that you have done this in the integrity of thyyour heart thouand hasit donewas this and I alsowho withheldkept theeyou from sinning against me:; therefore suffered I theedid not tolet you touch her
20:7 Now thereforethen restore the mans wife; for he is a prophet and he shallwill pray for theeyou and thouyou shaltshall live: andBut if thouyou do not restore her not know thou that thouyou shaltshall surely die thouyou and all that are thineyours
20:8 AndSo AbimelechAbim′elech rose early in the morning and called all his servants and told them all these things; in their ears: and the men were sorevery much afraid
20:9 Then AbimelechAbim′elech called Abraham and said untoto him What hasthave thouyou done untoto us andAnd whereinhow have I sinned against theeyou that thouyou hasthave brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin thouYou hasthave done deedsto unto me things that ought not to be done
20:10 And AbimelechAbim′elech said untoto Abraham What sawestwere thouyou thinking of that thouyou hastdid done this thing
20:11 And Abraham said BecauseI did it because I thought SurelyThere theis no fear of God isat notall in this place; and they will slaykill me forbecause of my wifeswife sake
20:12 AndBesides moreover she is indeed my sister the daughter of my father but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife:
20:13 andAnd it came to pass when God caused me to wander from my fathers house that I said untoto her This is thythe kindness whichyou thoumust shaltdo show unto me: at every place whitherto which we shall come say of me He is my brother
20:14 AndThen AbimelechAbim′elech took sheep and oxen and menmale servants and womenfemale servantsslaves and gave them untoto Abraham and restored him Sarah his wife to him
20:15 And AbimelechAbim′elech said Behold my land is before thee:you; dwell where it pleasethpleases theeyou
20:16 AndTo unto Sarah he said Behold I have given thyyour brother a thousand pieces of silver:; behold it is foryour theevindication ain covering of the eyes toof all thatwho are with theeyou; and inbefore respectevery ofone allyou thouare art righted
20:17 AndThen Abraham prayed untoto God:; and God healed AbimelechAbim′elech and also healed his wife and hisfemale maidslaves servants;so andthat they barebore children
20:18 For Jehovahthe Lord had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of AbimelechAbim′elech because of Sarah Abrahams wife
21:1 AndThe JehovahLord visited Sarah as he had said and Jehovahthe Lord did untoto Sarah as he had spokenpromised
21:2 And Sarah conceived and barebore Abraham a son in his old age at the set time of which God had spoken to him
21:3 And Abraham called the name of his son thatwho was born untoto him whom Sarah barebore to him Isaac
21:5 And Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born untoto him
21:6 And Sarah said God hathhas made melaughter tofor laughme; every one thatwho hearethhears will laugh withover me
21:7 And she said Who would have said untoto Abraham that Sarah shouldwould givesuckle children suckYet for I have borne him a son in his old age
21:8 And the child grew and was weaned:; and Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned
21:9 AndBut Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian whom she had borne untoto Abraham mockingplaying with her son Isaac
21:10 WhereforeSo she said untoto Abraham Cast out this handmaidslave andwoman with her son:; for the son of this handmaidslave woman shall not be heir with my son even with Isaac
21:11 And the thing was very grievousdispleasing into AbrahamsAbraham sight on account of his son
21:12 AndBut God said untoto Abraham LetBe it not bedispleased grievous in thy sight because of the lad and because of thyyour handmaidslave woman; inwhatever allSarah thatsays Sarahto saithyou untodo theeas hearkenshe untotells heryou voice; for inthrough Isaac shall thyyour seeddescendants be callednamed
21:13 And alsoI will make a nation of the son of the handmaidslave willwoman Ialso make a nation because he is thyyour seedoffspring
21:14 AndSo Abraham rose up early in the morning and took bread and a bottleskin of water and gave it untoto Hagar putting it on her shoulder andalong gavewith her the child and sent her away: andAnd she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beer sheba
21:15 AndWhen the water in the bottleskin was spentgone and she cast the child under one of the shrubsbushes
21:16 AndThen she went and sat her down over against him a good way off asabout itthe weredistance of a bowshot:; for she said Let me not look upon the death of the child And as she sat over against him andthe child lifted up herhis voice and wept
21:17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar outfrom of heaven and said untoto her What ailethtroubles theeyou Hagar fearFear not; for God hathhas heard the voice of the lad where he is
21:18 Arise lift up the lad and hold him infast thywith your hand; for I will make him a great nation
21:19 AndThen God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the bottleskin with water and gave the lad a drink
21:20 And God was with the lad and he grew up; and he dweltlived in the wilderness and became asan heexpert grewwith upthe anbow archer
21:21 AndHe helived dwelt in the wilderness of Paran:; and his mother took him a wife outfor ofhim from the land of Egypt
21:22 AndAt it came to pass at that time thatAbim′elech Abimelech and Phicol the captaincommander of his hostarmy spakesaid untoto Abraham saying God is with theeyou in all that thouyou doest:do;
21:23 now therefore swear untoto me here by God that thouyou wiltwill not deal falsely with me noror with my sonoffspring noror with my sonsposterity son: but accordingas to the kindness that I have donedealt untoloyally theewith thouyou shaltyou dowill untodeal with me and towith the land whereinwhere thouyou hasthave sojourned
21:25 AndWhen Abraham reprovedcomplained Abimelechto becauseAbim′elech ofabout thea well of water which AbimelechsAbim′elechs servants had violentlyseized taken away
21:26 AndAbim′elech Abimelech said I knowdo not know who hathhas done this thing:; neitheryou didstdid thounot tell me neitherand yetI have not heard I of it butuntil totoday day
21:27 AndSo Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them untoto Abimelech;Abim′elech and theythe two men made a covenant
21:28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock byapart themselves
21:29 And AbimelechAbim′elech said untoto Abraham What meanis the meaning of these seven ewe lambs which thouyou hasthave set byapart themselves
21:30 AndHe he said These seven ewe lambs shaltyou thouwill take offrom my hand that ityou may be a witness untofor me that I havedug digged this well
21:31 WhereforeTherefore he called that place was called Beer sheba; because there they sware both of them swore an oath
21:32 So they made a covenant at Beer sheba: andThen AbimelechAbim′elech rose up and Phicol the captaincommander of his hostarmy rose up and they returned intoto the land of the Philistines
21:33 And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer sheba and called there on the name of Jehovahthe Lord the Everlasting God
21:34 And Abraham sojourned many days in the land of the Philistines many days
22:1 AndAfter it came to pass after these things that God didtested prove Abraham and said untoto him Abraham; andAnd he said Here am I
22:2 AndHe he said Take nowyour thy son thineyour only son Isaac whom thouyou lovestlove even Isaac and getgo theeto into the land of Moriah;Mori′ah and offer him there foras a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I willshall tell theeyou of
22:3 AndSo Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his ass and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son Isaac; and he clavecut the wood for the burnt offering and rosearose up and went untoto the place of which God had told him
22:5 AndThen Abraham said untoto his young men AbideStay ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder; and we will worship and come again to you

22:10 AndThen Abraham stretchedput forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son
22:11 AndBut the angel of Jehovahthe Lord called untoto him outfrom of heaven and said Abraham Abraham: andAnd he said Here am I
22:12 AndHe he said LayDo not thylay your hand uponon the lad neitheror do thou anything untoto him; for now I know that thouyou fearestfear God seeing thouyou hasthave not withheld thyyour son thineyour only son from me
22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behold behind him was a ram caught in thea thicket by his horns:; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered himit up foras a burnt offering ininstead the stead of his son
22:14 AndSo Abraham called the name of that place JehovahThe jireh:Lord will provide; as it is said to this day InOn the mount of Jehovahthe Lord it shall be provided
22:15 And the angel of Jehovahthe Lord called untoto Abraham a second time outfrom of heaven
22:16 and said By myself I have I sworn saithsays Jehovahthe Lord because thouyou hasthave done this thing and hasthave not withheld thyyour son thineyour only son
22:17 that in blessing I will indeed bless theeyou and in multiplying I will multiply thyyour seeddescendants as the stars of theheaven heavens and as the sand which is uponon the seaseashore shore;And andyour thydescendants seed shall possess the gate of histheir enemies;
22:18 and inby thyyour seeddescendants shall all the nations of the earth bebless blessed;themselves because thouyou hasthave obeyed my voice
22:19 So Abraham returned untoto his young men and they rosearose up and went together to Beer sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer sheba
22:20 AndNow it came to pass after these things that it was told Abraham saying Behold Milcah she also hathhas borne children untoto thyyour brother Nahor:

25:27 AndWhen the boys grew: andup Esau was a skilful hunter a man of the field; andwhile Jacob was a quiet man dwelling in tents
25:28 Now Isaac loved Esau because he didate eat of his venison:game; andbut Rebekah loved Jacob

26:2 And Jehovahthe Lord appeared untoto him and said GoDo not go down intoto Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell theeyou of:

26:10 AndAbim′elech Abimelech said What is this thouyou hasthave done untoto us oneOne of the people might easily have lain with thyyour wife and thouyou wouldestwould have brought guiltinessguilt upon us
26:11 AndSo AbimelechAbim′elech chargedwarned all the people saying HeWhoever thattouches toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death
26:12 And Isaac sowed in that land and foundreaped in the same year a hundredfold: andThe JehovahLord blessed him

26:16 And AbimelechAbim′elech said untoto Isaac Go away from us; for thouyou artare much mightier than we
26:17 AndSo Isaac departed thencefrom there and encamped in the valley of Gerar and dwelt there
26:18 And Isaac diggeddug again the wells of water which they had diggedbeen dug in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham:; and he calledgave theirthem names after the names by which his father had calledgiven them
26:19 AndBut when Isaacs servants diggeddug in the valley and found there a well of springing water
26:20 And the herdsmen of Gerar strovequarreled with Isaacs herdsmen saying The water is ours: andSo he called the name of the well Esek because they contended with him
26:21 AndThen they diggeddug another well and they strovequarreled forover that also:; andso he called theits name of it Sitnah
26:22 And he removedmoved from thencethere and diggeddug another well; and forover that they strovedid not: andquarrel; so he called theits name ofReho′both itsaying Rehoboth; and he said For now Jehovahthe hathLord has made room for us and we shall be fruitful in the land
26:23 AndFrom there he went up from thence to Beer sheba
26:24 And Jehovahthe Lord appeared untoto him the same night and said I am the God of Abraham thyyour father:; fear not for I am with theeyou and will bless theeyou and multiply thyyour seeddescendants for my servant Abrahams sake
26:25 AndSo he buildedbuilt an altar there and called upon the name of Jehovahthe Lord and pitched his tent there: andAnd there Isaacs servants diggeddug a well
26:26 Then AbimelechAbim′elech went to him from Gerar andwith AhuzzathAhuz′zath his friendadviser and Phicol the captaincommander of his hostarmy
26:27 And Isaac said untoto them WhereforeWhy arehave yeyou come untoto me seeing yethat you hate me and have sent me away from you
26:28 AndThey they said We sawsee plainly that Jehovahthe wasLord is with thee:you; andso we saidsay Letlet there now be an oath betwixtbetween usyou evenand betwixt us and thee and let us make a covenant with theeyou
26:29 that thouyou wiltwill do us no hurtharm just as we have not touched theeyou and as we have done untoto theeyou nothing but good and have sent theeyou away in peace: thouYou artare now the blessed of Jehovahthe Lord
26:30 AndSo he made them a feast and they didate eat and drinkdrank
26:31 AndIn the morning they rose upearly betimesand intook theoath morningwith and sware one to another:; and Isaac sentset them awayon their way and they departed from him in peace
26:32 AndThat it came to pass the same day that Isaacs servants came and told him concerningabout the well which they had diggeddug and said untoto him We have found water
26:33 AndHe he called it Shibah:; therefore the name of the city is Beer sheba untoto this day
26:34 AndWhen when Esau was forty years old he took to wife Judith the daughter of BeeriBe e′ri the Hittite and BasemathBas′emath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:;
26:35 and they weremade alife griefbitter offor mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah
27:1 AndWhen it came to pass that when Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see he called Esau his elderolder son and said untoto him My son:; and he saidanswered untoHere himI Here am I
27:2 AndHe he said Behold now I am old; I knowdo not know the day of my death
27:3 Now thereforethen take Iyour pray thee thy weapons thyyour quiver and thyyour bow and go out to the field and takehunt game for me venison;
27:4 and makeprepare for me savory food such as I love and bring it to me that I may eat; that myI soul may bless theeyou before I die
27:5 AndNow Rebekah heardwas listening when Isaac spakespoke to Esau his son AndEsau So when Esau went to the field to hunt for venisongame and to bring it
27:6 And Rebekah spakesaid untoto Jacob her son sayingJacob Behold I heard thyyour father speak untoto Esauyour thy brother sayingEsau
27:7 Bring me venisongame and makeprepare for me savory food that I may eat it and bless theeyou before Jehovahthe Lord before myI deathdie
27:8 Now therefore my son obey my voiceword accordingas to that which I command theeyou
27:9 Go now to the flock and fetch me from thence two good kids ofthat theI goats;may andprepare Ifrom will make them savory food for thyyour father such as he loveth:loves;
27:10 and thouyou shaltshall bring it to thyyour father thatto he may eat so that he may bless theeyou before hishe deathdies
27:11 AndBut Jacob said to Rebekah his mother Behold Esau my brother Esau is a hairy man and I am a smooth man
27:12 MyPerhaps my father peradventure will feel me and I shall seem to himbe asmocking ahim deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon memyself and not a blessing
27:13 AndHis his mother said untoto him Upon me be thyyour curse my son; only obey my voiceword and go fetch them to me them
27:14 AndSo he went and fetchedtook them and brought them to his mother:; and his mother madeprepared savory food such as his father loved
27:15 AndThen Rebekah took the goodlybest garments of Esau her elderolder son which were with her in the house and put them uponon Jacob her younger son;
27:16 and she put the skins of the kids ofshe theput goats upon his hands and upon the smooth part of his neck:;
27:18 AndSo he camewent untoin to his father and said My father:; and he said Here I am I; who artare thouyou my son
27:19 And Jacob said untoto his father I am Esau thyyour first born; I have done according as thouyou badesttold me:; arisenow Isit prayup thee sit and eat of my venisongame that thyyou soul may bless me
27:20 AndBut Isaac said untoto his son How is it that thouyou hasthave found it so quickly my son AndHe heanswered said Because Jehovahthe thyLord your God sentgranted me goodsuccess speed
27:21 AndThen Isaac said untoto Jacob Come near I pray thee that I may feel theeyou my son to know whether thouyou beare really my very son Esau or not
27:22 AndSo Jacob went near untoto Isaac his father; andwho he felt him and said The voice is Jacobs voice but the hands are the hands of Esau
27:23 And he discerneddid not recognize him not because his hands were hairy aslike his brother Esaus hands:; so he blessed him
27:24 AndHe he said ArtAre thouyou really my very son Esau AndHe heanswered said I am
27:25 AndThen he said Bring it near to me andthat I willmay eat of my sons venisongame thatand my soul may bless theeyou AndSo he brought it near to him and he didate; eat: and he brought him wine and he drank
27:26 AndThen his father Isaac said untoto him Come near now and kiss me my son
27:27 AndSo he came near and kissed him:; and he smelled the smell of his raimentgarments and blessed him and said See the smell of my son Isis as the smell of a field which Jehovahthe hathLord has blessed:
27:28 AndMay God give theeyou of the dew of heaven Andand of the fatness of the earth Andand plenty of grain and new wine:
27:29 Let peoples serve theeyou Andand nations bow down to thee:you Be lord over thyyour brethrenbrothers Andand letmay thyyour mothers sons bow down to thee:you Cursed be every one thatwho cursethcurses theeyou Andand blessed be every one thatwho blessethblesses theeyou
27:30 AndAs it came to pass as soon as Isaac had madefinished an end of blessing Jacob andwhen Jacob washad yetscarcely scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father that Esau his brother came in from his hunting
27:31 AndHe he also madeprepared savory food and brought it untoto his father; andAnd he said untoto his father Let my father arise and eat of his sons venisongame that thyyou soul may bless me
27:32 AndHis father Isaac his father said untoto him Who artare thouyou AndHe heanswered said I am thyyour son thyyour first born Esau
27:33 AndThen Isaac trembled veryviolently exceedingly and said Who thenwas isit hethen that hathhunted takengame venison and brought it to me and I haveate eatenit of all before thouyou camestcame and I have blessed him—yes yea and he shall be blessed
27:34 When Esau heard the words of his father he cried out with an exceedingexceedingly great and bitter cry and said untoto his father Bless me even me also O my father
27:35 AndBut he said ThyYour brother came with guile and hathhe has taken away thyyour blessing
27:36 AndEsau he said Is he not he rightly named Jacob forFor he hathhas supplanted me these two times: heHe took away my birthright; and behold now he hathhas taken away my blessing AndThen he said HastHave thouyou not reserved a blessing for me
27:37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau Behold I have made him thyyour lord and all his brethrenbrothers I have I given to him for servants; and with grain and new wine I have I sustained him: andWhat what then shallcan I do for theeyou my son
27:38 And Esau said untoto his father HastHave thouyou but one blessing my father blessBless me even me also O my father And Esau lifted up his voice and wept
27:39 AndThen Isaac his father answered and said unto him: Behold ofaway from the fatness of the earth shall your dwelling be thyand dwellingaway Andfrom of the dew of heaven fromon above;high
27:40 AndBy byyour thy sword shaltyou thoushall live and thouyou shaltshall serve thyyour brother; Andbut it shall come to pass when thouyou shalt break loose Thatyou thoushall shaltbreak shake his yoke from offyour thy neck
27:41 AndNow Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewithwith which his father had blessed him: and Esau said into hishimself heart The days of mourning for my father are at handapproaching; then I will Ikill slay my brother Jacob
27:42 AndBut the words of Esau her elderolder son were told to Rebekah; andso she sent and called Jacob her younger son and said untoto him Behold thyyour brother Esau ascomforts touchinghimself theeby dothplanning comfort himself purposing to kill theeyou
27:43 Now therefore my son obey my voice; and arise flee thou to Laban my brother toin Haran;

31:30 And now thoughyou thouhave wouldestgone needsaway be gone because thouyou sorelonged longedstgreatly afterfor thyyour fathers house yetbut whereforewhy hastdid thouyou stolensteal my gods
31:31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban Because I was afraid: for I saidthought Lestthat thouyou shouldestwould take thyyour daughters from me by force
31:32 WithAny whomsoeverone thouwith findestwhom thyyou find your gods he shall not live: beforeIn the presence of our brethrenkinsmen discernpoint thouout what isI thinehave withthat meis yours and take it toNow thee For Jacob knewdid not know that Rachel had stolen them

39:9 he is not greater in this house than I am; neithernor hathhas he kept back anything from me butexcept theeyourself because thouyou artare his wife:; how then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God

40:1 AndSome ittime came to pass after thesethis things that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker offended their lord the king of Egypt
40:2 And Pharaoh was wrothangry againstwith his two officers against the chief ofbutler the butlers and against the chief ofbaker the bakers
40:3 Andand he put them in wardcustody in the house of the captain of the guard intoin the prison the place where Joseph was boundconfined
40:4 AndThe the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them and he ministeredwaited untoon them:; and they continued afor seasonsome time in wardcustody
40:5 And they dreamed a dream both of them each man his dream in one night eachthey manboth according to dreamed—the interpretation of his dream the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt who were boundconfined in the prison—each his own dream and each dream with its own meaning
40:6 AndWhen Joseph came into unto them in the morning and saw them and behold they were sadtroubled
40:7 AndSo he asked Pharaohs officers thatwho were with him in wardcustody in his masters house sayingWhy Whereforeare lookyour yefaces sodowncast sadtoday to day
40:8 AndThey they said untoto him We have dreamedhad adreams dream and there is noneno thatone canto interpret itthem And Joseph said untoto them Do not interpretations belong to God tellTell itthem to me I pray you
40:9 AndSo the chief butler told his dream to Joseph and said to him In my dream beholdthere was a vine was before me;
40:10 and inon the vine there were three branches:; andas itsoon was as though it budded and its blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereofripened broughtinto forth ripe grapes:
40:11 and Pharaohs cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaohs cup and Iplaced gave the cup intoin Pharaohs hand
40:12 AndThen Joseph said untoto him This is theits interpretation of it: the three branches are three days;
40:13 within yet three days shall Pharaoh will lift up thyyour head and restore theeyou untoto thineyour office:; and thouyou shaltshall giveplace Pharaohs cup intoin his hand afteras theformerly former manner when thouyou wastwere his butler
40:14 But haveremember me in thy remembrance when it shallis be well with theeyou and showdo me the kindness I pray theeyou untoto me and make mention of me untoto Pharaoh and bringso get me out of this house:
40:15 forFor indeed I was indeed stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews:; and here also I have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon
40:16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was goodfavorable he said untoto Joseph I also washad ina my dream: andthere beholdwere three cake baskets of white bread were on my head:
40:17 and in the uppermost basket there waswere of all mannersorts of baked food for Pharaoh; andbut the birds didwere eateating themit out of the basket uponon my head
40:18 And Joseph answered and said This is theits interpretation thereof: the three baskets are three days;
40:19 within yet three days shall Pharaoh will lift up thyyour head —from off thee you—and shall hang theeyou on a tree; and the birds shallwill eat thythe flesh from off thee you
40:20 AndOn it came to pass the third day which was Pharaohs birthday that he made a feast untofor all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and the head of the chief baker among his servants
40:21 AndHe he restored the chief butler untoto his butlership again; and he gaveplaced the cup intoin Pharaohs hand:;
40:22 but he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them
40:23 Yet did not the chief butler did not remember Joseph but forgatforgot him
41:1 AndAfter it came to pass at the end of two fullwhole years that Pharaoh dreamed: andthat behold he stoodwas standing by the riverNile
41:2 Andand behold there came up out of the riverNile seven kinecows wellsleek favored and fat fleshed; and they fed in the reed grass
41:3 And behold seven other kinecows gaunt and thin came up after them out of the riverNile illafter favoredthem and lean fleshed and stood by the other kinecows uponon the brinkbank of the riverNile
41:4 And the illgaunt favored and leanthin fleshedcows kineate did eat up the seven wellsleek favored and fat kinecows SoAnd Pharaoh awoke
41:5 And he sleptfell asleep and dreamed a second time:; and behold seven ears of grain cameplump upand upongood onewere stalkgrowing rankon andone goodstalk
41:6 And behold after them sprouted seven ears thin and blastedblighted withby the east wind sprung up after them
41:7 And the thin ears swallowed up the seven rankplump and full ears And Pharaoh awoke and behold it was a dream
41:8 AndSo it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt and all theits wise men; thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none thatwho could interpret themit untoto Pharaoh
41:9 Then spake the chief butler untosaid to Pharaoh saying I do remember my faults thistoday day:
41:10 When Pharaoh was wrothangry with his servants and put me and the chief baker in wardcustody in the house of the captain of the guard me and the chief baker:
41:11 and we dreamed aon dreamthe insame one night Ihe and he;I we dreamed each manhaving accordinga todream thewith interpretationits ofown hismeaning dream
41:12 AndA thereyoung Hebrew was there with us there a young man a Hebrew servant toof the captain of the guard; and when we told him and he interpreted our dreams to us ourgiving dreams;an interpretation to each man according to his dream he did interpret
41:13 And it came to pass as he interpreted to us so it wascame to pass; meI hewas restored untoto minemy office and himthe hebaker was hanged
41:14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon:; and when he had shaved himself and changed his raimentclothes andhe came in untobefore Pharaoh
41:15 And Pharaoh said untoto Joseph I have dreamedhad a dream and there is noneno thatone who can interpret it:; and I have heard sayit said of theeyou that when thouyou hearesthear a dream thouyou canstcan interpret it
41:16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh saying It is not in me:; God will give Pharaoh ana favorable answer of peace
41:17 AndThen Pharaoh spakesaid untoto Joseph InBehold in my dream behold I stoodwas uponstanding on the brinkbanks of the river:Nile;
41:18 and beholdseven therecows fat and sleek came up out of the riverNile seven kine fat fleshed and well favored; and they fed in the reed grass:;
41:19 and behold seven other kinecows came up after them poor and very illgaunt favored and leanthin fleshed such as I had never sawseen in all the land of Egypt for badness:
41:20 andAnd the leanthin and illgaunt favoredcows kineate did eat up the first seven fat kine:cows
41:21 andbut when they had eaten them upno itone couldwould nothave be known that they had eaten them; butfor they were still illas favoredgaunt as at the beginning SoThen I awoke
41:22 And I also saw in my dream and behold seven ears camegrowing upon upon one stalk full and good:;
41:23 and behold seven ears withered thin and blastedblighted withby the east wind sprungsprouted up after them:
41:24 and the thin ears swallowed up the seven good ears: andAnd I told it untoto the magicians; but there was noneno thatone who could declareexplain it to me
41:25 AndThen Joseph said untoto Pharaoh The dream of Pharaoh is one:; what God ishas aboutrevealed to doPharaoh what he hathis declaredabout untoto Pharaohdo
41:26 The seven good kinecows are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years:; the dream is one
41:27 AndThe the seven lean and illgaunt favoredcows kine that came up after them are seven years and also the seven empty ears blastedblighted withby the east wind; theyare shallalso be seven years of famine
41:28 ThatIt is theas thingI whichtold IPharaoh spakeGod untohas shown to Pharaoh: what Godhe is about to do he hath showed unto Pharaoh
41:29 BeholdThere therewill come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
41:30 andbut after them there shallwill arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shallwill be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shallwill consume the land;
41:31 and the plenty shallwill not be knownunknown in the land by reason of that famine which followeth;will follow for it shallwill be very grievous
41:32 And for that the dreamdoubling wasof doubledPharaohs untodream Pharaohmeans itthat is because the thing is establishedfixed by God and God will shortly bring it to pass
41:33 Now therefore let Pharaoh lookselect out a man discreet and wise and set him over the land of Egypt
41:34 Let Pharaoh doproceed thisto and let him appoint overseers over the land and take up the fifth part of the produce of the land of Egypt induring the seven plenteous years
41:35 And let them gather all the food of these good years that comeare coming and lay up grain under the handauthority of Pharaoh for food in the cities and let them keep it
41:36 AndThat the food shall be for a storereserve tofor the land against the seven years of famine which shallare beto inbefall the land of Egypt; so that the land perishmay not perish through the famine
41:37 AndThis theproposal thingseemed was good into the eyes of Pharaoh and into the eyes of all his servants
41:38 And Pharaoh said untoto his servants Can we find such a oneman as this a man in whom is the spiritSpirit of God is
41:39 AndSo Pharaoh said untoto Joseph ForasmuchSince as God hathhas showedshown theeyou all this there is none so discreet and wise as thou:you are;
41:40 thouyou shaltshall be over my house and accordingall untomy thypeople word shall allorder mythemselves peopleas beyou ruled:command; only inas regards the throne will I be greater than thouyou
41:41 And Pharaoh said untoto Joseph SeeBehold I have set theeyou over all the land of Egypt
41:42 AndThen Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it uponon Josephs hand and arrayed him in vesturesgarments of fine linen and put a gold chain about his neck;
41:43 and he made him to ride in thehis second chariot which he had; and they cried before him Bow the knee: andThus he set him over all the land of Egypt
41:44 AndMoreover Pharaoh said untoto Joseph I am Pharaoh and without theeyour shallconsent no man shall lift up his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt
41:45 And Pharaoh called Josephs name ZaphenathZaph′enath paneahpane′ah; and he gave him toin wifemarriage AsenathAs′enath the daughter of Poti ′phera priest of On AndSo Joseph went out over the land of Egypt
41:46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stoodentered beforethe service of Pharaoh king of Egypt And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went throughoutthrough all the land of Egypt
41:47 AndDuring in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth byabundantly handfuls
41:48 Andand he gathered up all the food of the seven years whichwhen werethere was plenty in the land of Egypt and laidstored up the food in the cities:; thehe foodstored ofup thein field which was round about every city laidthe hefood upfrom in the samefields around it
41:49 And Joseph laidstored up grain asin great abundance like the sand of the sea very much until he leftceased offto numbering;measure it for it wascould withoutnot numberbe measured
41:50 AndBefore unto Joseph were born two sons before the year of famine came Joseph had two sons whom AsenathAs′enath the daughter of PotipheraPoti′phera priest of On barebore untoto him
41:51 And Joseph called the name of the first born Manasseh:Manas′seh For he said he God hathhas made me forget all my toilhardship and all my fathers house
41:52 AndThe the name of the second he called heE′phraim Ephraim: For God hathhas made me fruitful in the land of my affliction
41:53 AndThe the seven years of plenty that wasprevailed in the land of Egypt came to an end;
41:54 Andand the seven years of famine began to come according as Joseph had said: andThere there was famine in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread
41:55 AndWhen when all the land of Egypt was famished the people cried to Pharaoh for bread:; and Pharaoh said untoto all the Egyptians Go untoto Joseph; what he saithsays to you do
41:56 AndSo when the famine washad spread over all the faceland of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storestorehouses houses and sold untoto the Egyptians; andfor the famine was soresevere in the land of Egypt
41:57 AndMoreover all countriesthe earth came intoto Egypt to Joseph to buy grain because the famine was soresevere inover all the earth
42:1 NowWhen Jacob sawlearned that there was grain in Egypt andhe Jacob said untoto his sons Why do yeyou look at one upon another
42:2 And he said Behold I have heard that there is grain in Egypt:; getgo you down thither and buy grain for us fromthere thence; that we may live and not die
42:3 AndSo ten of Josephs tenbrothers brethren went down to buy grain fromin Egypt
42:4 But Jacob did not send Benjamin Josephs brother Jacob sent not with his brethren;brothers for he saidfeared Lestthat peradventure harm might befall him
42:5 AndThus the sons of Israel came to buy among thosethe thatothers who came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan
42:6 AndNow Joseph was the governor over the land; he it was thatwho sold to all the people of the land And Josephs brethrenbrothers came and bowed down themselves tobefore him with their faces to the earthground
42:7 And Joseph saw his brethrenbrothers and he knew them but madehe himselftreated strangethem untolike themstrangers and spakespoke roughly withto them; andWhere hedo saidyou untocome themfrom Whencehe comesaid yeThey And they said From the land of Canaan to buy food
42:8 AndThus Joseph knew his brethrenbrothers but they knewdid not know him
42:9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed of them; and he said untoto them YeYou are spies; you have come to see the nakednessweakness of the land ye are come
42:10 AndThey they said untoto him NayNo my lord but to buy food arehave thyyour servants come
42:11 We are all sons of one mansman sons; we are truehonest men thyyour servants are nonot spies
42:12 AndHe he said untoto them NayNo butit tois see the nakednessweakness of the land yethat areyou have come to see
42:13 And they said We thyyour servants are twelve brethrenbrothers the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and behold the youngest is this day with our father and one is notno more
42:14 AndBut Joseph said untoto them ThatIt is itas that I spakesaid untoto you sayingyou Ye are spies:
42:15 herebyBy yethis you shall be provedtested: by the life of Pharaoh yeyou shall not go forthfrom hencethis exceptplace unless your youngest brother comecomes hitherhere
42:16 Send one of you and let him fetchbring your brother andwhile yeyou shallremain bein boundprison that your words may be provedtested whether there beis truth in you:; or else by the life of Pharaoh surely yeyou are spies
42:17 And he put them all together intoin wardprison for three days
42:18 AndOn the third day Joseph said untoto them theDo thirdthis dayand Thisyou dowill and live; for I fear God:
42:19 if yeyou beare truehonest men let one of your brethrenbrothers beremain boundconfined in your prison house;and butlet the rest go yeand carry grain for the famine of your houses:households
42:20 and bring your youngest brother untoto me; so shall your words will be verified and yeyou shall not die And they did so
42:21 AndThen they said to one to another WeIn truth we are verily guilty concerning our brother in that we saw the distress of his soul when he besought us and we would not hearlisten; therefore is this distress come upon us
42:22 And Reuben answered them sayingDid Spake I not untotell you sayingnot Doto not sin against the child;lad andBut yeyou would not hearlisten thereforeSo alsonow beholdthere comes a reckoning for his blood is required
42:23 AndThey theydid knew not know that Joseph understood them; for there was an interpreter between them
42:24 AndThen he turned himselfaway about from them and wept; and he returned to them and spakespoke to them andAnd he took Simeon from among them and bound him before their eyes
42:25 ThenAnd Joseph commandedgave orders to fill their vesselsbags with grain and to restorereplace every mans money intoin his sack and to give them provisionprovisions for the way:journey andThis thus was it done untofor them
42:26 AndThen they ladedloaded their asses with their grain and departed thence
42:27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender inat the lodging place he espiedsaw his money; and behold it was in the mouth of his sack;
42:28 Andand he said untoto his brethrenbrothers My money ishas restoredbeen put back; andhere lo it is even in the mouth of my sack: andAt this their hearthearts failed them and they turned trembling to one to another saying What is this that God hathhas done untoto us
42:29 AndWhen they came untoto Jacob their father untoin the land of Canaan andthey told him all that had befallen them saying
42:30 The man the lord of the land spakespoke roughly withto us and took us forto be spies of the countryland
42:31 AndBut we said untoto him We are truehonest men; we are nonot spies:;
42:32 we are twelve brethrenbrothers sons of our father; one is notno more and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan
42:33 AndThen the man the lord of the land said untoto us HerebyBy shallthis I shall know that yeyou are truehonest men: leave one of your brethrenbrothers with me and take grain for the famine of your houseshouseholds and go your way;
42:34 andBring bring your youngest brother untoto me:; then I shall I know that yeyou are nonot spies but thathonest yemen areand trueI men: so will I deliver to you your brother and yeyou shall traffictrade in the land
42:35 AndAs it came to pass as they emptied their sacks that behold every mans bundle of money was in his sack:; and when they and their father saw their bundles of money they were afraiddismayed
42:36 And Jacob their father said untoto them MeYou have ye bereaved me of my children: Joseph is notno more and Simeon is notno more and yenow willyou would take Benjamin; away: all thesethis thingshas arecome againstupon me
42:37 AndThen Reuben spakesaid untoto his father saying Slay my two sons if I do not bring him notback to thee:you; deliverput him intoin my handhands and I will bring him back to theeyou again
42:38 AndBut he said My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead and he only is left: ifIf harm should befall him byon the wayjourney inthat whichyou yeare goto thenmake willyou yewould bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol
43:1 AndNow the famine was soresevere in the land
43:2 And it came to pass when they had eaten up the grain which they had brought outfrom of Egypt their father said untoto them Go again buy us a little food
43:3 AndBut Judah spakesaid untoto him saying The man did solemnly protestwarned unto us saying YeYou shall not see my face exceptunless your brother beis with you
43:4 If thouyou wiltwill send our brother with us we will go down and buy theeyou food:;
43:5 but if thouyou wiltwill not send him we will not go down; for the man said untoto us YeYou shall not see my face exceptunless your brother beis with you
43:6 And Israel said WhereforeWhy dealtdid yeyou treat me so ill with me as to tell the man whetherthat yeyou had yetanother a brother
43:7 AndThey theyreplied said The man askedquestioned straitlyus concerningcarefully about ourselves and concerning our kindred saying Is your father yetstill alive haveHave yeyou another brother andWhat we told him accordingwas toin theanswer tenorto of these words:questions; could we in any wiseway know that he would say Bring your brother down
43:8 And Judah said untoto Israel his father Send the lad with me and we will arise and go; that we may live and not die both we and thouyou and also our little ones
43:9 I will be surety for him; of my hand shaltyou thoushall require him: ifIf I do not bring him notback untoto theeyou and set him before theeyou then let me bear the blame for ever:;
43:10 for exceptif we had lingerednot surelydelayed we hadwould now have returned a second time twice
43:11 AndThen their father Israel said untoto them If it must be so nowthen do this: take some of the choice fruits of the land in your vesselsbags and carry down to the man a present a little balm and a little honey spicerygum and myrrh pistachio nuts and almonds;
43:12 andTake take double the money inwith your handyou; andcarry back with you the money that was returned in the mouth of your sacks carry again in your hand; peradventureperhaps it was an oversight:
43:13 takeTake also your brother and arise go again untoto the man:;
43:14 andmay God Almighty givegrant you mercy before the man that he may releasesend untoback you your other brother and Benjamin AndIf if I beam bereaved of my children I am bereaved
43:15 AndSo the men took thatthe present and they took double the money inwith theirthem hand and Benjamin; and rosethey uparose and went down to Egypt and stood before Joseph
43:16 AndWhen when Joseph saw Benjamin with them he said to the steward of his house Bring the men into the house and slayslaughter an animal and make ready; for the men shallare to dine with me at noon
43:17 AndThe the man did as Joseph bade; him and the man brought the men to Josephs house
43:18 And the men were afraid because they were brought to Josephs house; and they said BecauseIt is because of the money thatwhich was returnedreplaced in our sacks at the first time arethat we are brought in; so that he may seek occasion against us and fall upon us andto takemake usslaves forof bondmenus and seize our asses
43:19 AndSo they camewent nearup to the steward of Josephs house and theyspoke spakewith unto him at the door of the house
43:20 and said Oh my lord we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:;
43:21 and it came to pass when we came to the lodging place that we opened our sacks and beholdthere was every mans money was in the mouth of his sack our money in full weight:; andso we have brought it again inwith ourus hand
43:22 Andand otherwe money have we brought other money down in our hand to buy food: weWe knowdo not know who put our money in our sacks
43:23 AndHe hereplied saidRest Peaceassured bedo tonot yoube fearafraid; not: your God and the God of your father hathmust givenhave youput treasure in your sacks: for you; I hadreceived your money AndThen he brought Simeon out untoto them
43:24 And when the man had brought the men into Josephs house and gavegiven them water and they had washed their feet; and when he gavehad given their asses provender

43:26 AndWhen when Joseph came home they brought into the house to him the present which wasthey inhad theirwith handthem into the house and bowed down themselves to him to the earthground
43:27 And he askedinquired themabout of their welfare and said Is your father well the old man of whom yeyou spakespoke Is he yetstill alive

43:31 AndThen he washed his face and came out; and hecontrolling refrained himself andhe said SetLet onfood breadbe served
43:32 AndThey theyserved set on for him by himself and for them by themselves and for the Egyptians thatwho didate eat with him by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination untoto the Egyptians
43:33 And they sat before him the first born according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth:; and the men marvelledlooked at one with another in amazement
43:34 AndPortions hewere tooktaken andto sent messes unto them from beforeJosephs him:table but Benjamins messportion was five times soas much as any of theirs AndSo they drank and were merry with him
44:1 AndThen he commanded the steward of his house saying Fill the mens sacks with food as much as they can carry and put everyeach mans money in the mouth of his sackssack mouth
44:2 Andand put my cup the silver cup in the sacks mouth of the sack of the youngest andwith his money for the grain money And he did accordingas to the word that Joseph hadtold spokenhim
44:3 As soon as the morning was light the men were sent away theywith and their asses
44:4 AndWhen when they werehad gone outbut ofa theshort citydistance andfrom werethe notcity yet far off Joseph said untoto his steward Up follow after the men; and when thouyou dost overtake them say untoto them WhereforeWhy have yeyou rewardedreturned evil for good Why have you stolen my silver cup
44:5 Is it not from this that in which my lord drinkethdrinks and wherebyby this that he indeeddivines divinethYou ye have done evilwrong in so doing
44:6 AndWhen he overtook them and he spakespoke untoto them these words
44:7 AndThey they said untoto him WhereforeWhy speakethdoes my lord speak such words as these Far be it from thyyour servants that they should do such a thing
44:8 Behold the money which we found in the mouth of our sacks mouths we brought againback untoto theeyou outfrom of the land of Canaan:; how then should we steal outsilver ofor thygold from your lords house silver or gold
44:9 With whomsoeverwhomever of thyyour servants it be found let him die and we also will be my lords bondmenslaves
44:10 AndHe he said NowLet also let it be accordingas untoyou your wordssay: he with whom it is found shall be my bondman;slave and yethe rest of you shall be blameless
44:11 Then theyevery hastedman andquickly tooklowered down every man his sack to the ground and opened every man opened his sack
44:12 And he searched andbeginning beganwith at the eldest and leftending offwith at the youngest:; and the cup was found in Benjamins sack
44:13 Then they rent their clothes and laded every man loaded his ass and they returned to the city
44:14 AndWhen Judah and his brethrenbrothers came to Josephs house; and he was yetstill there:; and they fell before him onto the ground
44:15 And Joseph said untoto them What deed is this that yeyou have done knowDo yeyou not know that such a man as I can indeed divine
44:16 And Judah said What shall we say untoto my lord whatWhat shall we speak orOr how shallcan we clear ourselves God hathhas found out the iniquityguilt of thyyour servants:; behold we are my lords bondmenslaves both we and he also in whose hand the cup ishas been found
44:17 AndBut he said Far be it from me that I should do so: Only the man in whose hand the cup iswas found he shall be my bondmanslave; but as for you getgo you up in peace untoto your father
44:18 Then Judah camewent nearup untoto him and said OhO my lord let thyyour servant I pray theeyou speak a word in my lords ears and let not thineyour anger burn against thyyour servant; for thouyou artare evenlike as Pharaoh himself
44:19 My lord asked his servants saying Have yeyou a father or a brother
44:20 And we said untoto my lord We have a father an old man and a young brother the child of his old age a little one; and his brother is dead and he alone is left of his mothermothers children; and his father lovethloves him
44:21 AndThen thouyou saidstsaid untoto thyyour servants Bring him down untoto me that I may set minemy eyes upon him
44:22 AndWe we said untoto my lord The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father his father would die
44:23 AndThen thouyou saidstsaid untoto thyyour servants ExceptUnless your youngest brother comecomes down with you yeyou shall see my face no more
44:24 AndWhen it came to pass when we camewent upback untoto thyyour servant my father we told him the words of my lord
44:25 And when our father said Go again buy us a little food

44:27 AndThen thyyour servant my father said untoto us YeYou know that my wife barebore me two sons:;
44:28 and the one wentleft out from me and I said Surely he ishas been torn into pieces; and I have notnever seen him since:
44:29 andIf ifyou ye take this one also from me and harm befallbefalls him yeyou will bring down my gray hairs within sorrow to Sheol
44:30 Now therefore when I come to thyyour servant my father and the lad is not with us; seeingthen thatas his life is bound up in the lads life;
44:31 it will come to pass when he seethsees that the lad is not with us that he will die:; and thyyour servants will bring down the gray hairs of thyyour servant our father with sorrow to Sheol
44:32 For thyyour servant became surety for the lad untoto my father saying If I do not bring him notback untoto theeyou then I shall I bear the blame toin the sight of my father forall evermy life
44:33 Now therefore let thyyour servant I pray theeyou abideremain instead of the lad as a bondmanslave to my lord; and let the lad go upback with his brethrenbrothers
44:34 For how shallcan I go upback to my father if the lad beis not with me lest I fear to see the evil that shallwould come onupon my father

45:9 HasteMake yehaste and go up to my father and say untoto him Thus saithsays thyyour son Joseph God hathhas made me lord of all Egypt:; come down untoto me tarrydo not tarry;

45:11 and there I will Iprovide nourishfor thee;you for there are yet five years of famine; lestto thou come; tolest povertyyou thou and thyyour household and all that thouyou hasthave come to poverty
45:12 And beholdnow your eyes see and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see that it is my mouth that speakethspeaks untoto you
45:13 AndYou yemust shall tell my father of all my glorysplendor in Egypt and of all that yeyou have seen: andMake ye shall haste and bring down my father hitherdown here

45:27 AndBut when they told him all the words of Joseph which he had said untoto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him the spirit of Jacob their father Jacob revived:;
45:28 and Israel said It is enough; Joseph my son is yetstill alive:; I will go and see him before I die

46:2 And God spakespoke untoto Israel in the visions of the night and said Jacob Jacob And he said Here am I
46:3 AndThen he said I am God the God of thyyour father:; feardo not be afraid to go down intoto Egypt; for I will there make of theeyou a great nation:
46:4 I will go down with theeyou intoto Egypt; and I will also surely bring theeyou up again:; and JosephJosephs hand shall putclose hisyour hand upon thine eyes

46:33 AndWhen it shall come to pass when Pharaoh shallcalls call you and shallsays say What is your occupation
46:34 thatyou ye shall say ThyYour servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now both we and our fathers: in order that yeyou may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination untoto the Egyptians
47:1 ThenSo Joseph went in and told Pharaoh and said My father and my brethrenbrothers andwith their flocks and their herds and all that they possess have are come outfrom of the land of Canaan; and behold they are now in the land of Goshen

47:4 AndThey they said untoto Pharaoh ToWe have come to sojourn in the land are we come; for there is no pasture for thyyour servants flocks; for the famine is soresevere in the land of Canaan:; and now therefore we pray theeyou let thyyour servants dwell in the land of Goshen
47:5 AndThen Pharaoh spakesaid untoto Joseph sayingYour Thy father and thyyour brethrenbrothers arehave come untoto thee:you
47:6 theThe land of Egypt is before theeyou; settle your father and your brothers in the best of the land; makelet thythem father and thy brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen; let them dwell: and if thouyou knowestknow any able men among them thenput make them rulersin overcharge of my cattle

47:20 So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for all the Egyptians sold everytheir manfields his field because the famine was soresevere upon them: andThe the land became Pharaohs;
47:21 Andand as for the people he removedmade themslaves toof thethem cities from one end of the border of Egypt even to the other end thereof
47:22 Only the land of the priests bought he did not: buy; for the priests had a portionfixed allowance from Pharaoh and didlived eaton theirthe portionallowance which Pharaoh gave them; whereforetherefore they solddid not sell their land

47:25 And they said ThouYou hasthave saved our lives:; letmay usit findplease favor in the sight of my lord and we will be Pharaohsslaves servantsto Pharaoh

47:30 but whenlet Ime sleeplie with my fathers; thou shalt carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burying place AndHe heanswered said I will do as thouyou hasthave said
47:31 And he said Swear untoto me:; and he swareswore untoto him AndThen Israel bowed himself upon the bedshead headof his bed
48:1 AndAfter itthis cameJoseph towas passtold after these things that one said to Joseph Behold thyyour father is sick:ill; andso he took with him his two sons ManassehManas′seh and EphraimE′phraim
48:2 And oneit was told to Jacob andYour said Behold thy son Joseph comethhas untocome thee:to andyou; then Israel strengthenedsummoned himselfhis strength and sat uponup thein bed
48:3 And Jacob said untoto Joseph God Almighty appeared untoto me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me
48:4 and said untoto me Behold I will make theeyou fruitful and multiply theeyou and I will make of theeyou a company of peoples and will give this land to thyyour seeddescendants after theeyou for an everlasting possession

48:9 And Joseph said untoto his father They are my sons whom God hathhas given me here And he said Bring them to me I pray theeyou untothat me and I willmay bless them
48:10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim forwith age so that he could not see AndSo heJoseph brought them near unto him; and he kissed them and embraced them

48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it upon Ephraimsthe head of E′phraim who was the younger and his left hand upon Manassehsthe head guidingof Manas′seh crossing his hands wittingly; for ManassehManas′seh was the first born
48:15 And he blessed Joseph and said The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac didwalked walk the God who hathhas fedled me all my life long untoto this day
48:16 the angel who hathhas redeemed me from all evil bless the lads; and in them let my name be namedperpetuated on them and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth
48:17 AndWhen when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of EphraimE′phraim it displeased him:; and he heldtook up his fathers hand to remove it from EphraimsE′phraims head untoto ManassehsManas′sehs head
48:18 And Joseph said untoto his father Not so my father; for this one is the first born; put thyyour right hand upon his head
48:19 AndBut his father refused and said I know it my son I know it; he also shall become a people and he also shall be great:; howbeitnevertheless his younger brother shall be greater than he and his seeddescendants shall become a multitude of nations
48:20 AndSo he blessed them that day saying InBy theeyou Israel will Israelpronounce blessblessings saying God make theeyou as EphraimE′phraim and as Manasseh:Manas′seh; and thus he setput EphraimE′phraim before ManassehManas′seh
