| 1:3 |
IssacharIs′sachar ZebulunZeb′ulun and Benjamin |
| 1:4 |
Dan and NaphtaliNaph′tali Gad and Asher |
| 1:5 |

| 1:6 |
AndThen Joseph died and all his brethrenbrothers and all that generation |
| 1:7 |
AndBut the childrendescendants of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantlygreatly; andthey multiplied and waxedgrew exceedingexceedingly mightystrong; andso that the land was filled with them |
| 1:8 |
Now there arose a new king over Egypt who knewdid not know Joseph |
| 1:9 |
And he said untoto his people Behold the people of the children of Israel are moretoo many and mightiertoo thanmighty we:for us |
| 1:10 |
comeCome let us deal wiselyshrewdly with them lest they multiply and itif comewar tobefall passus that when there falleth out any war they also join themselves unto our enemies and fight against us and getescape themfrom up out of the land |
| 1:11 |
Therefore they did set taskmasters over them taskmasters to afflict them with theirheavy burdens; Andand they built for Pharaoh store cities Pithom and RaamsesRa am′ses |
| 1:12 |
But the more they afflictedwere themoppressed the more they multiplied and the more they spread abroad And theythe Egyptians were grievedin becausedread of the childrenpeople of Israel |
| 1:13 |
AndSo thethey Egyptians made the childrenpeople of Israel to serve with rigor: |

| 1:21 |
And it came to pass because the midwives feared God that he madegave them householdsfamilies |
| 1:22 |

| 2:11 |
AndOne itday came to pass in those days when Moses washad grown up that he went out untoto his brethrenpeople and looked on their burdens:; and he saw an Egyptian smitingbeating a Hebrew one of his brethrenpeople |
| 2:12 |

| 2:13 |
AndWhen he went out the secondnext day and behold two men of the Hebrews were strivingstruggling together:; and he said to himthe man that did the wrong WhereforeWhy smitestdo thouyou thystrike your fellow |
| 2:14 |
AndHe heanswered said Who made theeyou a prince and a judge over us thinkestDo thouyou mean to kill me as thouyou killedstkilled the Egyptian AndThen Moses fearedwas afraid and saidthought Surely the thing is known |

| 2:17 |
AndThe the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them and watered their flock |
| 2:18 |

| 2:19 |
AndThey they said An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds and moreovereven he drew water for us and watered the flock |
| 2:20 |
AndHe he said untoto his daughters And where is he whyWhy ishave ityou that ye have left the man callCall him that he may eat bread |

| 3:2 |
And the angel of Jehovahthe Lord appeared untoto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush:; and he looked and beholdlo the bush burnedwas withburning fireyet andit the bush was not consumed |
| 3:3 |
And Moses said I will turn aside now and see this great sight why the bush is not burnt |
| 3:4 |
AndWhen whenthe JehovahLord saw that he turned aside to see God called untoto him out of the midst of the bush and said Moses Moses And he said Here am I |
| 3:5 |
AndThen he said DrawDo not nighcome hither:near; put off thyyour shoes from offyour thy feet for the place whereonon thouwhich standestyou are standing is holy ground |
| 3:6 |
MoreoverAnd he said I am the God of thyyour father the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look uponat God |

| 3:14 |

| 3:15 |
And God also said moreoverto unto Moses ThusSay shaltthis thouto say unto the childrenpeople of Israel JehovahThe Lord the God of your fathers the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob hathhas sent me untoto you: this is my name for ever and thisthus isI myam memorialto untobe remembered throughout all generations |

| 3:19 |
And I know that the king of Egypt will not givelet you leave to go nounless notcompelled by a mighty hand |
| 3:20 |
AndSo I will putstretch forthout my hand and smite Egypt with all mythe wonders which I will do in theit; midst thereof: and after that he will let you go |
| 3:21 |
And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians:; and it shall come to pass that when yeyou go yeyou shall not go empty: |
| 3:22 |

| 4:1 |
AndThen Moses answered and said But behold they will not believe me noror hearkenlisten untoto my voice; for they will say JehovahThe hathLord did not appearedappear untoto theeyou |
| 4:2 |
AndThe JehovahLord said untoto him What is that in thyyour hand AndHe he said A rod |
| 4:3 |
And he said Cast it on the ground AndSo he cast it on the ground and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it |
| 4:4 |

| 4:5 |
that they may believe that Jehovahthe Lord the God of their fathers the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob hathhas appeared untoto theeyou |
| 4:6 |
AndAgain Jehovahthe Lord said furthermoreto unto him Put nowyour thy hand into thyyour bosom And he put his hand into his bosom:; and when he took it out behold his hand was leprous as white as snow |
| 4:7 |
AndThen heGod said Put thyyour hand back into thyyour bosom againSo And he put his hand back into his bosom again; and when he took it out of his bosom behold it was turnedrestored againlike asthe rest of his other flesh |
| 4:8 |
AndIf it shall come to pass if they will not believe theeyou neitherGod hearkensaid toor theheed voice of the first sign that they willmay believe the voice of the latter sign |
| 4:9 |
AndIf it shall come to pass if they will not believe even these two signs neitheror hearkenheed untoyour thy voice thatyou thoushall shalt take ofsome the water offrom the riverNile and pour it upon the dry land:ground; and the water which thouyou takestshall outtake offrom the riverNile shallwill become blood upon the dry landground |
| 4:10 |
AndBut Moses said untoto Jehovahthe Lord Oh my Lord I am not eloquent neithereither heretofore noror since thou hast spoken untoto thy servant; forbut I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue |
| 4:11 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto him Who hathhas made mans mouth OrWho whomakes makethhim a man dumb or deaf or seeing or blind isIs it not I Jehovahthe Lord |
| 4:12 |
Now therefore go and I will be with thyyour mouth and teach theeyou what thouyou shaltshall speak |
| 4:13 |
AndBut he said Oh my Lord send I pray theesome byother theperson hand of him whom thou wilt send |
| 4:14 |
AndThen the anger of Jehovahthe Lord was kindled against Moses and he said Is there not Aaron thyyour brother the Levite I know that he can speak well; Andand also behold he comethis forthcoming out to meet thee:you and when he seethsees theeyou he will be glad in his heart |
| 4:15 |
And thouyou shaltshall speak untoto him and put the words in his mouth:; and I will be with thyyour mouth and with his mouth and will teach you what yeyou shall do |
| 4:16 |
AndHe he shall bespeak thyfor spokesmanyou untoto the people; and it shall come to pass that he shall be to thee a mouth for you and thouyou shaltshall be to him as God |

| 4:21 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses When thouyou goestgo back intoto Egypt see that thouyou do before Pharaoh all the wondersmiracles which I have put in thyyour hand:power; but I will harden his heart andso that he will not let the people go |
| 4:22 |
And thouyou shaltshall say untoto Pharaoh Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord Israel is my son my first born: son |
| 4:23 |
and I havesay saidto untoyou thee Let my son go that he may serve me; andif thouyou hastrefuse refused to let him go: behold I will slay thyyour son thy first born son |
| 4:24 |
AndAt ita camelodging toplace pass on the way at the lodgingLord place that Jehovah met him and sought to kill him |

Then ZipporahZippo′rah took a flint and cut off theher sons foreskin ofand hertouched sonMoses andfeet castwith it at his feet; and she said Surely you are a bridegroom of blood art thou to me |

| 5:9 |
Let heavier work be laid upon the men that they may labor therein;at it and letpay themno not regard to lying words |

Thus saithsays Jehovahthe InLord By this thouyou shaltshall know that I am Jehovahthe Lord: behold I will smitestrike with the rodwater that is in mythe handNile uponwith the watersrod whichthat areis in themy riverhand and theyit shall be turned to blood |
| 7:18 |
Andand the fish that are in the riverNile shall die and the riverNile shall become foul; and the Egyptians shallwill loathe to drink water from the riverNile |
| 7:19 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Say untoto Aaron Take thyyour rod and stretch out thyyour hand over the waters of Egypt over their rivers over their streamscanals and over their poolsponds and over all their pondspools of water that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone |
| 7:20 |
And Moses and Aaron did so as Jehovahthe Lord commanded; andin hethe liftedsight upof thePharaoh rod and smotein the waterssight thatof werehis inservants thehe riverlifted inup the sightrod of Pharaoh and instruck the sightwater ofthat hiswas servants;in the Nile and all the waterswater that werewas in the riverNile were turned to blood |
| 7:21 |
And the fish that were in the riverNile died; and the riverNile became foul andso that the Egyptians could not drink water from the riverNile; and thethere was blood was throughout all the land of Egypt |
| 7:22 |
AndBut the magicians of Egypt did inthe likesame mannerby with their enchantments:secret andarts; so Pharaohs heart wasremained hardened and he hearkenedwould not untolisten to them; as Jehovahthe Lord had spokensaid |
| 7:23 |
And Pharaoh turned and went into his house neitherand he did henot lay even this to heart |
| 7:24 |
And all the Egyptians diggeddug round about the riverNile for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river Nile |
| 7:25 |
AndSeven seven days werepassed fulfilled after thatthe JehovahLord had smittenstruck the riverNile |
| 8:1 |
AndThen Jehovahthe spakeLord untosaid to Moses Go in untoto Pharaoh and say untoto him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord Let my people go that they may serve me |
| 8:2 |
AndBut if thouyou refuse to let them go behold I will smiteplague all thyyour borderscountry with frogs:; |
| 8:3 |
and the riverNile shall swarm with frogs which shall gocome up and come into thyyour house and into thyyour bedchamber and uponon thyyour bed and into the househouses of thyyour servants and uponof thyyour people and into thineyour ovens and intoyour thy kneading troughs:bowls; |
| 8:4 |
and the frogs shall come up bothon uponyou thee and uponon thyyour people and uponon all thyyour servants |
| 8:5 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Say untoto Aaron Stretch forthout thyyour hand with thyyour rod over the rivers over the streamscanals and over the pools and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt |
| 8:6 |
AndSo Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt |
| 8:7 |
AndBut the magicians did inthe likesame mannerby with their enchantmentssecret arts and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt |
| 8:8 |
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said Entreat Jehovahthe thatLord heto take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go thatto theysacrifice mayto sacrificethe untoLord Jehovah |
| 8:9 |
And Moses said untoto Pharaoh HaveBe thoupleased thisto glorycommand over me: againstwhen whatI timeam shallto I entreat for theeyou and for thyyour servants and for thyyour people that the frogs be destroyed from theeyou and thyyour houses and remainbe left only in the riverNile only |
| 8:10 |
And he said AgainstTomorrow toMoses morrow And he said Be it accordingas toyou thysay word; that thouyou mayestmay know that there is noneno one like untothe JehovahLord our God |
| 8:11 |
AndThe the frogs shall depart from theeyou and fromyour thy houses and fromyour thy servants and fromyour thy people; they shall remainbe left only in the riverNile only |
| 8:12 |
AndSo Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh:; and Moses cried untoto Jehovahthe Lord concerning the frogs whichas he had broughtagreed uponwith Pharaoh |
| 8:13 |
And Jehovahthe Lord did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses outand ofcourtyards the courts and out of the fields |
| 8:14 |
And they gathered them together in heaps; and the land stank |
| 8:15 |
But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite he hardened his heart and hearkenedwould not untolisten to them; as Jehovahthe Lord had spokensaid |
| 8:16 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Say untoto Aaron Stretch out thyyour rod and smitestrike the dust of the earth that it may become licegnats throughout all the land of Egypt |
| 8:17 |
And they did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and smotestruck the dust of the earth and there werecame licegnats uponon man and upon beast; all the dust of the earth became licegnats throughout all the land of Egypt |
| 8:18 |
AndThe the magicians didtried soby with their enchantmentssecret arts to bring forth licegnats but they could not: andSo there were licegnats uponon man and upon beast |
| 8:19 |
ThenAnd the magicians said untoto Pharaoh This is the finger of God: andBut Pharaohs heart was hardened and he hearkenedwould not untolisten to them; as Jehovahthe Lord had spokensaid |
| 8:20 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Rise up early in the morning and standwait beforefor Pharaoh; loas he comethgoes forthout to the water; and say untoto him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord Let my people go that they may serve me |
| 8:21 |
Else if thouyou wiltwill not let my people go behold I will send swarms of flies uponon theeyou and uponyour thy servants and uponyour thy people and into thyyour houses:; and the houses of the Egyptians shall be fullfilled ofwith swarms of flies and also the ground whereonon which they arestand |
| 8:22 |
AndBut on that day I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen inwhere which my people dwell so that no swarms of flies shall be there; tothat theyou endmay thou mayest know that I am Jehovahthe Lord in the midst of the earth |
| 8:23 |
AndThus I will put a division between my people and thyyour people: byBy totomorrow morrow shall this sign be |
| 8:24 |
And Jehovahthe Lord did so; and there came grievousgreat swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants houses: and in all the land of Egypt the land was corruptedruined by reason of the swarms of flies |
| 8:25 |
AndThen Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron and said Go ye sacrifice to your God inwithin the land |
| 8:26 |
AndBut Moses said It iswould not meetbe soright to do so; for we shall sacrifice to the abominationLord ofour theGod Egyptiansofferings abominable to Jehovahthe ourEgyptians God:If lo shall we sacrifice theofferings abominationabominable ofto the Egyptians before their eyes and will they not stone us |
| 8:27 |
We willmust go three days journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to Jehovahthe Lord our God as he shallwill command us |
| 8:28 |
AndSo Pharaoh said I will let you go thatto ye may sacrifice to Jehovahthe Lord your God in the wilderness; only yeyou shall not go very far away: entreatMake entreaty for me |
| 8:29 |
AndThen Moses said Behold I goam going out from theeyou and I will entreatpray Jehovahto the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh from his servants and from his people totomorrow; morrow: only let not Pharaoh deal deceitfullyfalsely anyagain moreby in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Jehovahthe Lord |
| 8:30 |
AndSo Moses went out from Pharaoh and entreatedprayed Jehovahto the Lord |
| 8:31 |
And Jehovahthe Lord did accordingas toMoses theasked word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh from his servants and from his people; there remained not one remained |
| 8:32 |
AndBut Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also and he did not let the people go |
| 9:1 |
Then Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Go in untoto Pharaoh and tellsay to him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord the God of the Hebrews Let my people go that they may serve me |
| 9:2 |
For if thouyou refuse to let them go and wiltstill hold them still |
| 9:3 |
behold the hand of Jehovahthe isLord will fall with a very severe plague upon thyyour cattle which are in the field upon the horses upon the asses upon the camels upon the herds and upon the flocks: there shall be a very grievous murrain |
| 9:4 |
AndBut Jehovahthe shallLord will make a distinction between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; andso therethat nothing shall nothing die of all that belongethbelongs to the childrenpeople of Israel |
| 9:5 |
And Jehovahthe appointedLord set a set time saying ToTomorrow morrowthe JehovahLord shallwill do this thing in the land |
| 9:6 |
And Jehovahon didthe thatmorrow thingthe onLord thedid morrowthis thing; and all the cattle of Egyptthe Egyptians died; but of the cattle of the childrenpeople of Israel died not one died |
| 9:7 |
And Pharaoh sent and behold there was not so much as one of the cattle of the Israelites was dead But the heart of Pharaoh was stubbornhardened and he did not let the people go |
| 9:8 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses and unto Aaron Take to you handfuls of ashes offrom the furnacekiln and let Moses sprinklethrow itthem toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh |
| 9:9 |
And it shall become smallfine dust over all the land of Egypt and shallbecome beboils a boil breaking forthout within blainssores uponon man and upon beast throughout all the land of Egypt |
| 9:10 |
AndSo they took ashes offrom the furnacekiln and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkledthrew itthem up toward heaven; and it became aboils boil breaking forthout within blainssores uponon man and upon beast |
| 9:11 |
And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians |
| 9:12 |
AndBut Jehovahthe Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh and he hearkeneddid not untolisten to them; as Jehovahthe Lord had spoken untoto Moses |
| 9:13 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say untoto him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord the God of the Hebrews Let my people go that they may serve me |
| 9:14 |
For this time I will this time send all my plagues upon thyyour heart and upon thyyour servants and uponyour thy people; that thouyou mayestmay know that there is none like me in all the earth |
| 9:15 |
For by now I hadcould have put forth my hand and smittenstruck theeyou and thyyour people with pestilence and thouyou hadstwould have been cut off from the earth:; |
| 9:16 |
but in very deed for this causepurpose have I madelet theeyou tolive stand to show theeyou my power andso that my name may be declared throughout all the earth |
| 9:17 |
AsYou yetare exalteststill thouexalting thyselfyourself against my people thatand thouwill wilt not let them go |
| 9:18 |
Behold totomorrow morrow about this time I will cause itvery toheavy rainhail ato veryfall grievous hail such as hathnever nothas been in Egypt sincefrom the day it was founded even until now |
| 9:19 |
Now therefore send hastenget inyour thy cattle and all that thouyou hasthave in the field into safe shelter; for the hail shall come down upon every man and beast that shallis be found in the field and shallis not be brought home the hail shall come down upon them and they shall die |
| 9:20 |
HeThen thathe who feared the word of Jehovahthe Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servantsslaves and his cattle flee into the houses:; |
| 9:21 |
andbut he thatwho regardeddid not regard the word of Jehovahthe Lord left his servantsslaves and his cattle in the field |
| 9:22 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Stretch forth thyyour hand toward heaven that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt upon man and upon beast and upon every herbplant of the field throughout the land of Egypt |
| 9:23 |
AndThen Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven:; and Jehovahthe Lord sent thunder and hail and fire ran down untoto the earth; andAnd Jehovahthe Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt; |
| 9:24 |
So there was hail and fire mingledflashing withcontinually in the midst of the hail very grievousheavy hail such as had notnever been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation |
| 9:25 |
AndThe hail struck down everything that was in the hailfield smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field both man and beast; and the hail smotestruck down every herbplant of the field and brakeshattered every tree of the field |
| 9:26 |
Only in the land of Goshen where the childrenpeople of Israel were there was there no hail |
| 9:27 |
AndThen Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron and said untoto them I have sinned this time:; Jehovahthe Lord is righteousin the right and I and my people are wickedin the wrong |
| 9:28 |
Entreat Jehovahthe Lord; for there hathhas been enough of thesethis mightythunder thunderings and hail; and I will let you go and yeyou shall stay no longer |
| 9:29 |
And Moses said untoto him As soon as I amhave gone out of the city I will spreadstretch abroadout my hands untoto Jehovahthe Lord; the thundersthunder shallwill cease neitherand shall there will be anyno more hail; that thouyou mayestmay know that the earth is Jehovahsthe Lords |
| 9:30 |
But as for theeyou and thyyour servants I know that yeyou willdo not yet fear Jehovahthe Lord God |
| 9:31 |
AndThe the flax and the barley were smitten:ruined for the barley was in the ear and the flax was in bloombud |
| 9:32 |
But the wheat and the spelt were not smitten:ruined for they wereare notlate grownin coming up |
| 9:33 |
AndSo Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and spreadstretched abroadout his hands untoto Jehovah:the Lord; and the thundersthunder and the hail ceased and the rain wasno notlonger poured upon the earth |
| 9:34 |
AndBut when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thundersthunder werehad ceased he sinned yet moreagain and hardened his heart he and his servants |
| 9:35 |
AndSo the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he did not let the childrenpeople of Israel go; as Jehovahthe Lord had spoken bythrough Moses |
| 10:1 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Go in untoto Pharaoh:; for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants that I may show these my signs inof themine midstamong of them |
| 10:2 |
and that thouyou mayestmay tell in the earshearing of thyyour son and of thyyour sons son whathow things I have wroughtmade uponsport Egyptof the Egyptians and mywhat signs which I have done among them; that yeyou may know that I am Jehovahthe Lord |
| 10:3 |
AndSo Moses and Aaron went in untoto Pharaoh and said untoto him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord the God of the Hebrews How long wiltwill thouyou refuse to humble thyselfyourself before me letLet my people go that they may serve me |
| 10:4 |
ElseFor if thouyou refuse to let my people go behold totomorrow morrowI will I bring locusts into thyyour border:country |
| 10:5 |
and they shall cover the face of the earthland so that no one shallcan not be able to see the earth:land; and they shall eat thewhat residue of that which is escapedleft whichto remaineth unto you fromafter the hail and they shall eat every tree whichof growethyours forwhich yougrows outin of the field: |
| 10:6 |
and thythey houses shall befill filledyour houses and the houses of all thyyour servants and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither thyyour fathers nor thyyour fathersgrandfathers fathers have seen sincefrom the day that they werecame uponon the earth untoto this day AndThen he turned and went out from Pharaoh |
| 10:7 |
And Pharaohs servants said untoto him How long shall this man be a snare untoto us letLet the men go that they may serve Jehovahthe Lord their God:; knowestdo thouyou not yet understand that Egypt is destroyedruined |
| 10:8 |
AndSo Moses and Aaron were brought againback untoto Pharaoh:; and he said untoto them Go serve Jehovahthe Lord your God; but who are theyto that shall go |
| 10:9 |
And Moses said We will go with our young and with our old; we will go with our sons and withdaughters ourand daughters with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast untoto Jehovahthe Lord |
| 10:10 |
And he said untoto them SoThe Lord be Jehovah with you asif ever I will let you go and your little ones: lookgo toLook it;you forhave some evil ispurpose beforein youmind |
| 10:11 |
NotNo so:Go gothe nowmen yeamong thatyou are men and serve Jehovah;the Lord for that is what yeyou desire And they were driven out from Pharaohs presence |
| 10:12 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Stretch out thyyour hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat every herbplant ofin the land even all that the hail hathhas left |
| 10:13 |
AndSo Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt and Jehovahthe Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all thethat night; and when it was morning the east wind had brought the locusts |
| 10:14 |
And the locusts wentcame up over all the land of Egypt and restedsettled inon all the borderswhole country of Egypt; verysuch grievousa weredense they;swarm beforeof themlocusts thereas werehad nonever suchbeen locustsbefore asnor theyever neither after them shall be suchagain |
| 10:15 |
For they covered the face of the whole earthland so that the land was darkened; and they didate eatall everythe herbplants ofin the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left:; and there remained not anya green thing eitherremained neither tree ornor herbplant of the field through all the land of Egypt |
| 10:16 |
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said I have sinned against Jehovahthe Lord your God and against you |
| 10:17 |
Now therefore forgive my sin I pray theeyou my sin only this once and entreat Jehovahthe Lord your God thatonly heto mayremove takethis awaydeath from me this death only |
| 10:18 |
AndSo he went out from Pharaoh and entreated Jehovahthe Lord |
| 10:19 |
And Jehovahthe Lord turned ana exceedingvery strong west wind which tooklifted up the locusts and drove them into the Red Sea; therenot remaineda notsingle one locust was left in all the bordercountry of Egypt |
| 10:20 |
But Jehovahthe Lord hardened Pharaohs heart and he did not let the children of Israel go |
| 10:21 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Stretch out thyyour hand toward heaven that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt evena darkness whichto may be felt |
| 10:22 |
AndSo Moses stretched forthout his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days; |
| 10:23 |
they sawdid not see one another neithernor rosedid any onerise from his place for three days:; but all the childrenpeople of Israel had light inwhere theirthey dwellingsdwelt |
| 10:24 |
AndThen Pharaoh called unto Moses and said Go ye serve Jehovahthe Lord; onlyyour letchildren youralso flocksmay andgo yourwith herdsyou; beonly stayed: let your littleflocks onesand alsoyour goherds withremain youbehind |
| 10:25 |
AndBut Moses said ThouYou must also givelet intous ourhave hand sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice untoto Jehovahthe Lord our God |
| 10:26 |
Our cattle also shallmust go with us; there shall not a hoof shall be left behind; for thereofwe must we take of them to serve Jehovahthe Lord our God; and we knowdo not know with what we must serve Jehovahthe Lord until we comearrive thitherthere |
| 10:27 |
But Jehovahthe Lord hardened Pharaohs heart and he would not let them go |
| 10:28 |
AndThen Pharaoh said untoto him Get theeaway from me; take heed to thyselfyourself; never see my face no moreagain; for in the day thouyou seestsee my face thouyou shaltshall die |
| 10:29 |
And Moses said ThouAs hastyou spokensay well; I will not see thyyour face again no more |
| 11:1 |
AndThe JehovahLord said untoto Moses Yet one plague more I will I bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence:; when he shalllets let you go he shallwill surelydrive thrust you outaway hencecompletely altogether |
| 11:2 |
Speak now in the earshearing of the people andthat letthey them ask every man of his neighbor and every woman of her neighbor jewelsjewelry of silver and jewels of gold |
| 11:3 |
And Jehovahthe Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt in the sight of Pharaohs servants and in the sight of the people |
| 11:4 |
And Moses said Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord: About midnight I will I go outforth intoin the midst of Egypt:; |
| 11:5 |
and all the first born in the land of Egypt shall die from the first born of Pharaoh thatwho sittethsits upon his throne even untoto the first born of the maidmaidservant servantwho that is behind the mill; and all the first born of the cattle |
| 11:6 |
And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt such as there hathhas notnever been nor ever shall be anyagain more |
| 11:7 |
But against any of the childrenpeople of Israel shalleither man or beast not a dog moveshall hisgrowl; tongue against man or beast: that yeyou may know how that Jehovahthe dothLord makemakes a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel |
| 11:8 |
And all these thyyour servants shall come down untoto me and bow down themselvesto unto me saying Get theeyou out and all the people thatwho follow thee:you andAnd after that I will go out And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger |
| 11:9 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Pharaoh will not hearkenlisten untoto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt |
| 11:10 |
And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh:; and Jehovahthe Lord hardened Pharaohs heart and he did not let the childrenpeople of Israel go out of his land |
| 12:1 |

| 12:35 |
AndThe thepeople children of Israel didhad accordingalso todone theas wordMoses oftold Moses;them andfor they had asked of the Egyptians jewelsjewelry of silver and jewels of gold and raiment:clothing; |
| 12:36 |
and Jehovahthe gaveLord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians so that they let them have what they asked AndThus they despoiled the Egyptians |

AndWhen it came to pass when Pharaoh had let the people go that God leddid not lead them not by the way of the land of the Philistines although that was near; for God said Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war and they return to Egypt: |
| 13:18 |
butBut God led the people aboutround by the way of the wilderness bytoward the Red Sea: andAnd the childrenpeople of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle |

And Jehovahthe Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light; that they might gotravel by day and by night:; |
| 13:22 |
the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night departeddid not depart from before the people |
| 14:1 |
AndThen Jehovahthe spakeLord untosaid to Moses saying |

| 14:3 |
AndFor Pharaoh will say of the childrenpeople of Israel They are entangled in the land; the wilderness hathhas shut them in |
| 14:4 |
And I will harden Pharaohs heart and he shallwill followpursue after them; and I will get meglory honorover upon Pharaoh and upon all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovahthe Lord And they did so |
| 14:5 |
AndWhen it was told the king of Egypt was told that the people werehad fled: and the heartmind of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed towardstoward the people and they said What is this we have done that we have let Israel go from serving us |
| 14:6 |
AndSo he made ready his chariot and took his peoplearmy with him: |
| 14:7 |
and he took six hundred chosenpicked chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt andwith captainsofficers over all of them |
| 14:8 |
And Jehovahthe Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt and he pursued after the childrenpeople of Israel: foras thethey children of Israel went outforth withdefiantly a high hand |

| 14:11 |
Andand they said untoto Moses BecauseIs it because there wereare no graves in Egypt hastthat thouyou have taken us away to die in the wilderness whereforeWhat hasthave thouyou dealtdone thusto with us toin bringbringing us forth out of Egypt |
| 14:12 |
Is not this thewhat word that we spakesaid untoto theeyou in Egypt saying Let us alone thatand welet mayus serve the Egyptians For it werewould have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than thatto we should die in the wilderness |
| 14:13 |
And Moses said untoto the people Fear ye not stand stillfirm and see the salvation of Jehovahthe Lord which he will work for you totoday; day: for the Egyptians whom yeyou havesee seentoday toyou dayshall yenever shall see them again no more for ever |
| 14:14 |
JehovahThe Lord will fight for you and yeyou shallhave holdonly yourto peacebe still |
| 14:15 |
AndThe JehovahLord said untoto Moses WhereforeWhy criestdo thouyou untocry to me speakTell unto the childrenpeople of Israel thatto they go forward |
| 14:16 |
AndLift lift thou up thyyour rod and stretch out thyyour hand over the sea and divide it: andthat the childrenpeople of Israel shallmay go intoon thedry midstground ofthrough the sea on dry ground |
| 14:17 |
And I behold I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians andso that they shall go in after them: and I will get meglory honorover upon Pharaoh and upon all his host upon his chariots and upon his horsemen |
| 14:18 |
And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovahthe Lord when I have gotten meglory honorover upon Pharaoh upon his chariots and upon his horsemen |
| 14:19 |
AndThen the angel of God who went before the camphost of Israel removedmoved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud removedmoved from before them and stood behind them: |
| 14:20 |
andcoming it came between the camphost of Egypt and the camphost of Israel; andAnd there was the cloud and the darkness; yetand gavethe it light by night: andpassed thewithout one camecoming not near the other all the night |
| 14:21 |
AndThen Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovahthe causedLord drove the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night and made the sea dry land and the waters were divided |
| 14:22 |
And the childrenpeople of Israel went into the midst of the sea uponon the dry ground: and the waters werebeing a wall untoto them on their right hand and on their left |
| 14:23 |
AndThe the Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea all Pharaohs horses his chariots and his horsemen |
| 14:24 |
And itin camethe tomorning passwatch the Lord in the morningpillar watchof thatfire Jehovahand of cloud looked forthdown upon the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud and discomfited the host of the Egyptians |
| 14:25 |
Andclogging he took off their chariot wheels andso that they drove them heavily; soand that the Egyptians said Let us flee from thebefore face of Israel; for Jehovahthe fightethLord fights for them against the Egyptians |
| 14:26 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Stretch out thyyour hand over the sea that the waterswater may come againback upon the Egyptians upon their chariots and upon their horsemen |

AndThe the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen evenand all the host of Pharaoh that wenthad infollowed after them into the sea; there remained not so much as one of them remained |
| 14:29 |
But the childrenpeople of Israel walked uponon dry landground inthrough the midst of the sea; and the waters werebeing a wall untoto them on their right hand and on their left |
| 14:30 |
Thus Jehovahthe Lord saved Israel that day outfrom of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seaseashore shore |
| 14:31 |
And Israel saw the great work which Jehovahthe Lord did uponagainst the Egyptians and the people feared Jehovah:the Lord; and they believed in Jehovahthe Lord and in his servant Moses |

| 15:20 |
AndThen Miriam the prophetess the sister of Aaron took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and withdancing dances |
| 15:21 |
And Miriam answeredsang to them: Sing ye to Jehovahthe Lord for he hathhas triumphed gloriously; Thethe horse and his rider hath he has thrown into the sea |

AnAnd he cried untoto Jehovahthe Lord; and Jehovahthe Lord showed him a tree and he castthrew it into the waterswater and the waterswater werebecame made sweet There hethe Lord made for them a statute and an ordinance and there he proved them; |
| 15:26 |
andsaying he said If thouyou wiltwill diligently hearken to the voice of Jehovahthe thyLord your God and wilt do that which is right in his eyes and wilt give earheed to his commandments and keep all his statutes I will put none of the diseases upon theeyou which I have put upon the Egyptians:; for I am Jehovahthe thatLord healethyour thee healer |
| 15:27 |
AndThen they came to Elim where there were twelve springs of water and threescoreseventy and ten palm trees:; and they encamped there by the waterswater |
| 16:1 |
AndThey theyset tookout their journey from Elim and all the congregation of the childrenpeople of Israel came untoto the wilderness of Sin which is between Elim and Sinai on the fifteenth day of the second month after theirthey departinghad outdeparted offrom the land of Egypt |
| 16:2 |
And the whole congregation of the childrenpeople of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness: |
| 16:3 |
and the children of Israel said untoto them Would that we had died by the hand of Jehovahthe Lord in the land of Egypt when we sat by the fleshfleshpots potsand whenate we did eat bread to the full; for yeyou have brought us forthout into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger |
| 16:4 |
Then the Lord said Jehovahto unto Moses Behold I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a days portion every day that I may prove them whether they will walk in my law or not |
| 16:5 |
AndOn it shall come to pass on the sixth day thatwhen they shall prepare thatwhat which they bring in and it shallwill be twice as much as they gather daily |
| 16:6 |
AndSo Moses and Aaron said untoto all the childrenpeople of Israel At evenevening thenyou ye shall know that Jehovahit hathwas the Lord who brought you out fromof the land of Egypt; |
| 16:7 |
and in the morning thenyou ye shall see the glory of Jehovah;the forLord thatbecause he hearethhas heard your murmurings against Jehovah:the andLord For what are we that yeyou murmur against us |
| 16:8 |
And Moses said ThisWhen shallthe beLord whengives Jehovah shall give you in the evening flesh to eat and in the morning bread to the full; forbecause thatthe JehovahLord hearethhas heard your murmurings which yeyou murmur against him: and —what are we yourYour murmurings are not against us but against Jehovahthe Lord |
| 16:9 |
And Moses said untoto Aaron Say untoto all the whole congregation of the childrenpeople of Israel Come near before Jehovah;the Lord for he hathhas heard your murmurings |
| 16:10 |
And it came to pass as Aaron spakespoke untoto the whole congregation of the childrenpeople of Israel that they looked toward the wilderness and behold the glory of Jehovahthe Lord appeared in the cloud |
| 16:11 |
And Jehovahthe spakeLord untosaid to Moses saying |
| 16:12 |
I have heard the murmurings of the childrenpeople of Israel:; speaksay untoto them saying At eventwilight yeyou shall eat flesh and in the morning yeyou shall be filled with bread:; andthen yeyou shall know that I am Jehovahthe Lord your God |
| 16:13 |
AndIn itthe cameevening to pass at even that the quails came up and covered the camp:; and in the morning the dew lay round about the camp |
| 16:14 |
And when the dew thathad lay was gone up beholdthere uponwas on the face of the wilderness a smallfine roundflake like thing smallfine as thehoarfrost hoar frost on the ground |
| 16:15 |
AndWhen when the childrenpeople of Israel saw it they said to one to another What is it forFor they knewdid not know what it was And Moses said untoto them It is the bread which Jehovahthe hathLord has given you to eat |
| 16:16 |
This is what the thingLord whichhas Jehovah hath commanded: Gather ye of it every man accordingof toyou hisas eatingmuch as he can eat; you shall take an omer aapiece head according to the number of yourthe persons shallwhom yeeach takeof ityou everyhas man for them that are in his tent |
| 16:17 |
And the childrenpeople of Israel did so; andthey gathered some more some less |
| 16:18 |
AndBut when they measured it with an omer he that gathered much had nothing over and he that gathered little had no lack; theyeach gathered every man according to hiswhat eatinghe could eat |
| 16:19 |
And Moses said untoto them Let no man leave any of it till the morning |
| 16:20 |
NotwithstandingBut they hearkeneddid not untolisten to Moses; but some ofleft thempart left of it untiltill the morning and it bred worms and became foul:; and Moses was wrothangry with them |
| 16:21 |
AndMorning by morning they gathered it morningeach byas morningmuch everyas manhe accordingcould toeat; hisbut eating: and when the sun waxedgrew hot it melted |
| 16:22 |
AndOn it came to pass that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread two omers forapiece; eachand one:when and all the rulersleaders of the congregation came and told Moses |
| 16:23 |
And he said untoto them This is thatwhat whichthe JehovahLord hathhas spokencommanded: ToTomorrow morrow is a day of solemn rest a holy sabbath untoto Jehovah:the Lord; bake thatwhat whichyou ye will bake and boil thatwhat whichyou ye will boil; and all that remainethis left over lay upby for you to be kept untiltill the morning |
| 16:24 |
AndSo they laid it upby till the morning as Moses bade: them; and it did not become foul neitherand was there anywere wormno thereinworms in it |
| 16:25 |
And Moses said Eat thatit totoday day; for totoday day is a sabbath untoto Jehovah:the toLord; daytoday yeyou shallwill not find it in the field |
| 16:26 |
Six days yeyou shall gather it; but on the seventh day which is thea sabbath in it there shallwill be none |
| 16:27 |
AndOn it came to pass on the seventh day that there went out some of the people went out to gather and they found none |
| 16:28 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses How long do you refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws |
| 16:29 |
See forThe thatLord Jehovahhas hath given you the sabbath therefore he giveth you on the sixth day thehe gives you bread offor two days; abideremain ye every man of you in his place let no man go out of his place on the seventh day |
| 16:31 |
AndNow the house of Israel called theits name thereofmanna; Manna: and it was like coriander seed white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey |
| 16:32 |
And Moses said This is what the thingLord whichhas Jehovah hath commanded: Let an omerfulomer of it be kept throughout your generations that they may see the bread wherewithwith which I fed you in the wilderness when I brought you forthout fromof the land of Egypt |
| 16:33 |
And Moses said untoto Aaron Take a potjar and put an omerfulomer of manna thereinin it and layplace it up before Jehovahthe Lord to be kept throughout your generations |
| 16:34 |
As Jehovahthe Lord commanded Moses so Aaron laidplaced it up before the Testimonytestimony to be kept |
| 16:35 |
And the childrenpeople of Israel didate eat the manna forty years untiltill they came to a habitable land inhabited; they didate eat the manna untiltill they came untoto the bordersborder of the land of Canaan |
| 16:36 |
NowAn an omer is the tenth part of an ephah |
| 17:1 |
AndAll all the congregation of the childrenpeople of Israel journeyedmoved on from the wilderness of Sin by theirstages journeys according to the commandment of Jehovahthe Lord and encampedcamped inat Rephidim:Reph′idim; andbut there was no water for the people to drink |
| 17:2 |
WhereforeTherefore the people strovefound fault with Moses and said Give us water thatto we may drink And Moses said untoto them Why strivedo yeyou find fault with me WhereforeWhy do yeyou temptput Jehovahthe Lord to the proof |
| 17:3 |
AndBut the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses and said WhereforeWhy hastdid thouyou broughtbring us up out of Egypt to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst |
| 17:4 |
AndSo Moses cried untoto Jehovahthe sayingLord What shall I do untowith this people theyThey are almost ready to stone me |
| 17:5 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Pass on before the people andtaking take with theeyou some of the elders of Israel; and thytake rodin wherewithyour thouhand smotest the riverrod takewith inwhich thyyou handstruck the Nile and go |
| 17:6 |
Behold I will stand before theeyou there uponon the rock inat Horeb; and thouyou shaltshall smitestrike the rock and therewater shall come water out of it that the people may drink And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel |
| 17:7 |
And he called the name of the place Massah and MeribahMer′ibah because of the strivingfaultfinding of the children of Israel and because they temptedput Jehovahthe Lord to the proof by saying Is Jehovahthe Lord among us or not |
| 17:8 |
Then came AmalekAm′alek and fought with Israel inat RephidimReph′idim |
| 17:9 |
And Moses said untoto Joshua Choose for us out men and go out fight with Amalek:Am′alek; totomorrow morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand |
| 17:10 |
So Joshua did as Moses hadtold said to him and fought with Amalek:Am′alek; and Moses Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill |
| 17:11 |
AndWhenever it came to pass when Moses held up his hand that Israel prevailed; and whenwhenever he letlowered down his hand AmalekAm′alek prevailed |
| 17:12 |
But Moses hands weregrew heavyweary; andso they took a stone and put it under him and he sat thereon;upon it and Aaron and Hur stayedheld up his hands the one on the one side and the other on the other side; andso his hands were steady until the going down of the sun |
| 17:13 |
And Joshua discomfitedmowed Amalekdown Am′alek and his people with the edge of the sword |
| 17:14 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Write this foras a memorial in a book and rehearserecite it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of AmalekAm′alek from under heaven |
| 17:15 |
And Moses built an altar and called the name of it JehovahThe nissi;Lord is my banner |
| 17:16 |
andsaying heA saidhand Jehovahupon haththe sworn:banner Jehovahof the Lord The Lord will have war with AmalekAm′alek from generation to generation |
| 18:1 |
Now Jethro the priest of MidianMid′ian Moses father in law heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people how thatthe JehovahLord had brought Israel out of Egypt |
| 18:2 |
AndNow Jethro Moses father in law tookhad Zipporahtaken Zippo′rah Moses wife after he had sent her away |
| 18:3 |
and her two sons; of whom the name of the one was Gershom; for he said I have been a sojourner in a foreign land: |
| 18:4 |
and the name of the other wasElie′zer Eliezer; for he said The God of my father was my help and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh |
| 18:5 |
And Jethro Moses father in law came with his sons and his wife untoto Moses intoin the wilderness where he was encamped at the mountmountain of God: |
| 18:6 |
andAnd hewhen saidone untotold Moses ILo thyyour father in law Jethro amis comecoming untoto theeyou andwith thyyour wife and her two sons with her |
| 18:7 |
And Moses went out to meet his father in law and did obeisance and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and theywent came into the tent |
| 18:8 |
AndThen Moses told his father in law all that Jehovahthe Lord had done untoto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israels sake all the travailhardship that had come upon them byin the way and how Jehovahthe Lord had delivered them |
| 18:9 |
And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodnessgood which Jehovahthe Lord had done to Israel in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians |
| 18:10 |
And Jethro said Blessed be Jehovahthe Lord who hathhas delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh; who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians |
| 18:11 |
Now I know that Jehovahthe Lord is greater than all gods; yeabecause inhe delivered the thingpeople whereinfrom under the hand of the Egyptians when they dealt proudlyarrogantly againstwith them |
| 18:12 |
And Jethro Moses father in law tookoffered a burnt offering and sacrifices forto God:; and Aaron came andwith all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses father in law before God |
| 18:13 |
AndOn it came to pass on the morrow that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood about Moses from the morning untotill the evening |
| 18:14 |
AndWhen when Moses father in law saw all that he didwas todoing for the people he said What is this thing that thouyou doestare todoing for the people whyWhy sittestdo thouyou thyselfsit alone and all the people stand about theeyou from morning untotill evenevening |
| 18:15 |
And Moses said untoto his father in law Because the people come untoto me to inquire of God:; |
| 18:16 |
when they have a matterdispute they come untoto me; and I judgedecide between a man and his neighbor and I make them know the statutes of God and his lawsdecisions |
| 18:17 |
And Moses father in law said untoto him TheWhat thingyou thatare thoudoing doest is not good |
| 18:18 |
ThouYou wiltand surelythe wearpeople awaywith bothyou thouwill andwear thisyourselves peopleout that is with thee: for the thing is too heavy for theeyou; thouyou artare not able to perform it thyself alone |
| 18:19 |
HearkenListen now untoto my voice; I will give theeyou counsel and God be with thee:you beYou thoushall forrepresent the people tobefore God ward and bring thoutheir thecases causesto unto God:; |
| 18:20 |
and thouyou shaltshall teach them the statutes and the lawsdecisions and shaltmake show them know the way whereinin which they must walk and thewhat work that they must do |
| 18:21 |
Moreover thouchoose shaltable providemen outfrom of all the people able men such as fear God men ofwho truthare hatingtrustworthy unjustand gainwho hate a bribe; and place such men over themthe topeople beas rulers of thousands rulers of hundreds rulers of fifties and rulers of tens: |
| 18:22 |
andAnd let them judge the people at all seasons:times; and it shall be that every great matter they shall bring untoto theeyou but everyany small matter they shall judgedecide themselves:; so shall it will be easier for thyselfyou and they shallwill bear the burden with theeyou |
| 18:23 |
If thouyou shalt do this thing and God commandso theecommands soyou then thouyou shaltwill be able to endure and all this people also shallwill go to their place in peace |
| 18:24 |
So Moses hearkenedgave heed to the voice of his father in law and did all that he had said |
| 18:25 |
And Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people rulers of thousands rulers of hundreds rulers of fifties and rulers of tens |
| 18:26 |
And they judged the people at all seasons:times; the hard causescases they brought untoto Moses but everyany small matter they judgeddecided themselves |
| 18:27 |
AndThen Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way intoto his own landcountry |
| 19:1 |
InOn the third monthnew moon after the childrenpeople of Israel werehad gone forth out of the land of Egypt theon samethat day they came they into the wilderness of Sinai |
| 19:2 |
And when they wereset departedout from RephidimReph′idim and werecame comeinto to the wilderness of Sinai they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountmountain |
| 19:3 |
And Moses went up untoto God and Jehovahthe Lord called untoto him out of the mountain saying Thus shaltyou thoushall say to the house of Jacob and tell the childrenpeople of Israel: |
| 19:4 |
YeYou have seen what I did untoto the Egyptians and how I barebore you on eagles wings and brought you untoto myself |
| 19:5 |
Now therefore if yeyou will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant thenyou ye shall be minemy own possession from among all peoples:; for all the earth is mine: |
| 19:6 |
and yeyou shall be untoto me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation These are the words which thouyou shaltshall speak untoto the children of Israel |
| 19:7 |
AndSo Moses came and called for the elders of the people and set before them all these words which Jehovahthe Lord had commanded him |
| 19:8 |
And all the people answered together and said All that Jehovahthe hathLord has spoken we will do And Moses reported the words of the people untoto Jehovahthe Lord |
| 19:9 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Lo I comeam untocoming theeto you in a thick cloud that the people may hear when I speak with theeyou and may also believe theeyou for ever AndThen Moses told the words of the people untoto Jehovahthe Lord |
| 19:10 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Go untoto the people and sanctifyconsecrate them totoday day and totomorrow morrow and let them wash their garments |
| 19:11 |
and be ready againstby the third day; for on the third day Jehovahthe Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai |
| 19:12 |
And thouyou shaltshall set bounds untofor the people round about saying Take heed tothat yourselvesyou thatdo yenot go not up into the mountmountain or touch the border of it:; whosoeverwhoever touchethtouches the mountmountain shall be surely put to death:; |
| 19:13 |
no hand shall touch him but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it be beast or man he shall not live: whenWhen the trumpet soundethsounds a long blast they shall come up to the mountmountain |
| 19:14 |
AndSo Moses went down from the mountmountain untoto the people and sanctifiedconsecrated the people; and they washed their garments |
| 19:15 |
And he said untoto the people Be ready againstby the third day:; comedo not go near a woman |
| 19:16 |
AndOn itthe camemorning toof pass on the third day when it was morning that there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud upon the mountmountain and thea voicevery ofloud a trumpet exceedingblast loud;so andthat all the people thatwho were in the camp trembled |
| 19:17 |
AndThen Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stoodtook their stand at the netherfoot part of the mountmountain |
| 19:18 |
And mountMount Sinai thewas wholewrapped ofin itsmoke smoked because Jehovahthe Lord descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereofof ascendedit aswent up like the smoke of a furnacekiln and the whole mountmountain quaked greatly |
| 19:19 |
And whenas the voicesound of the trumpet waxedgrew louder and louder Moses spakespoke and God answered him byin athunder voice |
| 19:20 |
And Jehovahthe Lord came down upon mountMount Sinai to the top of the mount:mountain; and Jehovahthe Lord called Moses to the top of the mount;mountain and Moses went up |
| 19:21 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Go down chargeand warn the people lest they break through untoto Jehovahthe Lord to gaze and many of them perish |
| 19:22 |
And also let the priests alsowho that come near to Jehovahthe sanctifyLord consecrate themselves lest Jehovahthe Lord break forthout upon them |
| 19:23 |
And Moses said untoto Jehovahthe Lord The people cannot come up to mountMount Sinai:; for thou thyself didst charge us saying Set bounds about the mountmountain and sanctifyconsecrate it |
| 19:24 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto him Go get thee down; and thou shalt come up thoubringing and Aaron with thee:you; but letdo not let the priests and the people break through to come up untoto Jehovahthe Lord lest he break forthout uponagainst them |
| 19:25 |

And he gave untoto Moses when he had made an end of communingspeaking with him upon mountMount Sinai the two tables of the testimony tables of stone written with the finger of God |
| 32:1 |
AndWhen when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountmountain the people gathered themselves together untoto Aaron and said untoto him Up make us gods whichwho shall go before us; for as for this Moses the man thatwho brought us up out of the land of Egypt we knowdo not know what ishas become of him |
| 32:2 |
And Aaron said untoto them BreakTake off the golden rings of gold which are in the ears of your wives of your sons and of your daughters and bring them untoto me |
| 32:3 |
AndSo all the people braketook off the golden rings of gold which were in their ears and brought them untoto Aaron |
| 32:4 |
And he received itthe gold at their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made it a molten calf:; and they said These are thyyour gods O Israel whichwho brought theeyou up out of the land of Egypt |
| 32:5 |
AndWhen when Aaron saw this he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation and said ToTomorrow morrow shall be a feast to Jehovahthe Lord |
| 32:6 |
And they rose up early on the morrow and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink and rose up to play |
| 32:7 |
And Jehovahthe spakeLord untosaid to Moses Go get thee down; for thyyour people thatwhom thouyou broughtestbrought up out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves:; |
| 32:8 |
they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them:; they have made themfor themselves a molten calf and have worshippedworshiped it and have sacrificed untoto it and said These are thyyour gods O Israel whichwho brought theeyou up out of the land of Egypt |
| 32:9 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses I have seen this people and behold it is a stiffneckedstiff necked people:; |
| 32:10 |
now therefore let me alone that my wrath may waxburn hot against them and that I may consume them:; andbut of you I will make of thee a great nation |
| 32:11 |
AndBut Moses besought Jehovahthe Lord his God and said JehovahO Lord why dothdoes thy wrath waxburn hot against thy people thatwhom thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand |
| 32:12 |
WhereforeWhy should the Egyptians speaksay sayingWith For evil intent did he bring them forth to slay them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth Turn from thy fierce wrath and repent of this evil against thy people |
| 32:13 |
Remember Abraham Isaac and Israel thy servants to whom thou swarestdidst swear by thine own self and saidstdidst untosay to them I will multiply your seeddescendants as the stars of heaven and all this land that I have spokenpromised ofI will I give untoto your seeddescendants and they shall inherit it for ever |
| 32:14 |
And Jehovahthe Lord repented of the evil which he saidthought heto would do untoto his people |
| 32:15 |
And Moses turned and went down from the mountmountain with the two tables of the testimony in his hand;hands tables that were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written |
| 32:17 |
AndWhen when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted he said untoto Moses There is a noise of war in the camp |
| 32:18 |
AndBut he said It is not the voicesound of themshouting that shout for masteryvictory neitheror is it the voicesound of themthe that cry forof beingdefeat overcome; but the noisesound of themsinging that sing do I hear |
| 32:19 |
And it came to pass as soon as he came nighnear unto the camp thatand he saw the calf and the dancing: and Moses anger waxedburned hot and he castthrew the tables out of his hands and brakebroke them beneathat the mountfoot of the mountain |
| 32:20 |
And he took the calf which they had made and burnt it with fire and ground it to powder and strewedscattered it upon the water and made the childrenpeople of Israel drink of it |
| 32:21 |
And Moses said untoto Aaron What did this people untodo theeto you that thouyou hasthave brought a great sin upon them |
| 32:22 |
And Aaron said Let not the anger of my lord waxburn hot:; thouyou knowestknow the people that they are set on evil |
| 32:23 |
For they said untoto me Make us gods whichwho shall go before us; for as for this Moses the man thatwho brought us up out of the land of Egypt we knowdo not know what ishas become of him |
| 32:24 |
And I said untoto them WhosoeverLet hath any goldwho lethave themgold breaktake it off:; so they gave it to me; and I castthrew it into the fire and there came out this calf |
| 32:25 |
And when Moses saw that the people werehad broken loose for Aaron had let them break loose forto atheir derisionshame among their enemies |
| 32:26 |
then Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said WhosoWho is on Jehovahsthe Lords side letCome himto come unto me And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together untoto him |
| 32:27 |
And he said untoto them Thus saithsays Jehovah the Lord God of Israel Put ye every man his sword uponon his thighside and go to and fro from gate to gate throughout the camp and slay every man his brother and every man his companion and every man his neighbor |
| 32:28 |
And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses:; and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men |
| 32:29 |
And Moses said ConsecrateToday you have ordained yourselves tofor daythe toservice Jehovahof yeathe everyLord maneach againstone at the cost of his son and againstof his brother; that he may bestow a blessing upon you a blessing this day |
| 32:30 |
AndOn it came to pass on the morrow that Moses said untoto the people YeYou have sinned a great sin: andAnd now I will go up untoto Jehovahthe Lord; peradventureperhaps I shallcan make atonement for your sin |
| 32:31 |
AndSo Moses returned untoto Jehovahthe Lord and said OhAlas this people have sinned a great sin; andthey have made themfor themselves gods of gold |
| 32:32 |
YetBut now if thou wilt forgive their sin—; —and if not blot me I pray thee out of thy book which thou hast written |
| 32:33 |
AndBut Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses WhosoeverWhoever hathhas sinned against me him will I blot out of my book |
| 32:34 |
AndBut now go lead the people untoto the place of which I have spoken untoto thee:you; behold minemy angel shall go before thee;you neverthelessNevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them |
| 32:35 |
And Jehovahthe smoteLord sent a plague upon the people because they made the calf which Aaron made |
| 33:1 |
AndThe JehovahLord spakesaid untoto Moses Depart go up hence thouyou and the people thatwhom thouyou hasthave brought up out of the land of Egypt untoto the land of which I swareswore untoto Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob saying UntoTo thyyour seeddescendants I will I give it: |
| 33:2 |
andAnd I will send an angel before thee;you and I will drive out the CanaaniteCanaanites the AmoriteAmorites and the HittiteHittites and the PerizzitePer′izzites the HiviteHivites and the Jebusite:Jeb′usites |
| 33:3 |
untoGo up to a land flowing with milk and honey:; forbut I will not go up inamong theyou midstlest ofI thee;consume foryou thouin artthe away stiffneckedfor people;you lestare Ia consumestiff theenecked in the way people |
| 33:4 |
AndWhen when the people heard these evil tidings they mourned:; and no man did put on him his ornaments |
| 33:5 |
AndFor Jehovahthe Lord had said untoto Moses Say untoto the childrenpeople of Israel YeYou are a stiffneckedstiff necked people; if Ifor goa upsingle intomoment theI midstshould ofgo theeup foramong oneyou moment I shallwould consume thee:you thereforeSo now put off thyyour ornaments from theeyou that I may know what to do untowith theeyou |
| 33:6 |
AndTherefore the childrenpeople of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments from mountMount Horeb onward |
| 33:7 |
Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it withoutoutside the camp afarfar off from the camp; and he called it Thethe tent of meeting And it came to pass that every one thatwho sought Jehovahthe wentLord would go out untoto the tent of meeting which was withoutoutside the camp |
| 33:8 |
AndWhenever it came to pass when Moses went out untoto the Tenttent that all the people rose up and stood every man stood at his tent door and looked after Moses until he washad gone into the Tenttent |
| 33:9 |
AndWhen it came to pass when Moses entered into the Tenttent the pillar of cloud descendedwould descend and stoodstand at the door of the Tent:tent and Jehovahthe spakeLord would speak with Moses |
| 33:10 |
And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standstanding at the door of the Tent:tent and all the people rosewould rise up and worshippedworship every man at his tent door |
| 33:11 |
AndThus Jehovahthe spakeLord untoused to speak to Moses face to face as a man speakethspeaks untoto his friend AndWhen heMoses turned again into the camp: but his ministerservant Joshua the son of Nun a young man departeddid not outdepart offrom the Tenttent |
| 33:12 |
And Moses said untoto Jehovahthe Lord See thou sayest untoto me Bring up this people:; andbut thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me Yet thou hast said I know theeyou by name and thouyou hasthave also found favor in my sight |
| 33:13 |
Now therefore I pray thee if I have found favor in thy sight show me now thy ways that I may know thee toand the end that I may find favor in thy sight: andConsider considertoo that this nation is thy people |
| 33:14 |
And he said My presence shallwill go with theeyou and I will give theeyou rest |
| 33:15 |
And he said untoto him If thy presence gowill not go with me do not carry us not up hencefrom here |
| 33:16 |
For whereinhow now shall it be known that I have found favor in thy sight I and thy people isIs it not in thatthy thougoing goest with us so that we are separateddistinct I and thy people from all theother people that are upon the face of the earth |
| 33:17 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses IThis willvery dothing thisthat thingyou alsohave thatspoken thouI hastwill spokendo; for thouyou hasthave found favor in my sight and I know theeyou by name |
| 33:18 |
AndMoses he said Show me I pray thee show me thy glory |
| 33:19 |
And he said I will make all my goodness pass before theeyou and will proclaim thebefore nameyou ofmy Jehovahname beforeThe theeLord; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy |
| 33:20 |
AndBut he said Thouyou canstcannot not see my face; for man shall not see me and live |
| 33:21 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said Behold there is a place by me andwhere thouyou shaltshall stand upon the rock:; |
| 33:22 |
and it shall come to pass while my glory passethpasses by that I will put theeyou in a cleft of the rock and I will cover theeyou with my hand until I have passed by:; |
| 33:23 |
andthen I will take away my hand and thouyou shaltshall see my back; but my face shall not be seen |
| 34:1 |
AndThe JehovahLord said untoto Moses HewCut thee two tables of stone like unto the first:; and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables which thouyou brakestbroke |
| 34:2 |
AndBe be ready byin the morning and come up in the morning untoto mountMount Sinai and present thyselfyourself there to me on the top of the mountmountain |
| 34:3 |
AndNo no man shall come up with thee;you neitherand let anyno man be seen throughout all the mountmountain; neither let theno flocks noror herds feed before that mountmountain |

AndSo heMoses hewedcut two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moseshe rose up early in the morning and went up untoon mountMount Sinai as Jehovahthe Lord had commanded him and took in his hand two tables of stone |
| 34:5 |
And Jehovahthe Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed the name of Jehovahthe Lord |

| 34:8 |
