| 1:1 |
These are the words whichthat Moses spakespoke untoto all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness in the Arabah over against Suph between Paran and Tophel and Laban andHaze′roth Hazeroth and Di ′zahab |
| 1:2 |
It is eleven days journey from Horeb by the way of mountMount SeirSe′ir untoto KadeshKa′desh barneabar′nea |
| 1:3 |
And it came to pass in the fortieth year in the eleventh month on the first day of the eleventh month that Moses spakespoke untoto the childrenpeople of Israel according untoto all that Jehovahthe Lord had given him in commandment untoto them; |
| 1:4 |
after he had smittendefeated Sihon the king of the Amorites who dweltlived in Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan who dweltlived in AshtarothAsh′taroth atand Edreiin Ed′re i |
| 1:5 |
Beyond the Jordan in the land of Moab began Moses undertook to declareexplain this law saying |
| 1:6 |
JehovahThe Lord our God spakesaid untoto us in Horeb sayingYou Ye have dweltstayed long enough inat this mountain:; |
| 1:7 |
turn you and take your journey and go to the hill country of the Amorites and untoto all thetheir placesneighbors nigh thereunto in the Arabah in the hill country and in the lowland and in the SouthNegeb and by the seaseacoast shore the land of the Canaanites and Lebanon as far as the great river the river EuphratesEuphra′tes |
| 1:8 |
Behold I have set the land before you:; go in and possesstake possession of the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to your fathers to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob to give untoto them and to their seeddescendants after them |
| 1:9 |
AndAt that time I spakesaid untoto you at that time saying I am not able alone to bear you; myself alone: |
| 1:10 |
Jehovahthe Lord your God hathhas multiplied you and behold yeyou are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude |
| 1:11 |
JehovahMay the Lord the God of your fathers make you a thousand times as many as yeyou are and bless you as he hathhas promised you |
| 1:12 |
How can I myselfbear alone bearthe yourweight cumbrance and your burden of you and your strife |
| 1:13 |
TakeChoose you wise menunderstanding and understandingexperienced andmen known according to your tribes and I will makeappoint them headsas overyour youheads |
| 1:14 |
And yeyou answered me and said The thing whichthat thouyou hasthave spoken is good for us to do |
| 1:15 |
So I took the heads of your tribes wise men and knownexperienced men and madeset them as heads over you captainscommanders of thousands andcommanders captains of hundreds andcommanders captains of fifties andcommanders captains of tens and officers accordingthroughout to your tribes |
| 1:16 |
And I charged your judges at that time saying Hear the causescases between your brethren and judge righteously between a man and his brother andor the sojourneralien that is with him |
| 1:17 |
YeYou shall not respectbe personspartial in judgment; yeyou shall hear the small and the great alike; yeyou shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is Gods:; and the causecase that is too hard for you yeyou shall bring untoto me and I will hear it |
| 1:18 |
And I commanded you at that time all the things whichthat yeyou should do |
| 1:19 |
And we journeyedset out from Horeb and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which yeyou saw byon the way to the hill country of the Amorites as Jehovahthe Lord our God commanded us; and we came to KadeshKa′desh barneabar′nea |
| 1:20 |
And I said untoto you YeYou arehave come untoto the hill country of the Amorites which Jehovahthe Lord our God givethgives unto us |
| 1:21 |
Behold Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas set the land before thee:you; go up take possession as Jehovahthe Lord the God of thyyour fathers hathhas spokentold unto theeyou; feardo not neitherfear or be dismayed |
| 1:22 |
AndThen yeall of you came near unto me every one of you and said Let us send men before us that they may searchexplore the land for us and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up and the cities untointo which we shall come |
| 1:23 |
AndThe the thing pleasedseemed good to me well; and I took twelve men of you one man for everyeach tribe:; |
| 1:24 |
and they turned and went up into the hill country and came untoto the valleyValley of Eshcol and spied it out |
| 1:25 |
And they took in their hands some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down untoto us and brought us word again and said It is a good land which Jehovahthe Lord our God givethgives unto us |
| 1:26 |
Yet yeyou would not go up but rebelled against the commandmentcommand of Jehovahthe Lord your God:; |
| 1:27 |
and yeyou murmured in your tents and said Because Jehovahthe Lord hated us he hathhas brought us forth out of the land of Egypt to delivergive us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us |
| 1:28 |
Whither are we going up ourOur brethren have made our hearthearts to melt saying The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there |
| 1:29 |
Then I said untoto you DreadDo not neither be in dread or afraid of them |
| 1:30 |
JehovahThe Lord your God who goethgoes before you he will himself fight for you accordingjust toas all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes |
| 1:31 |
and in the wilderness where thouyou hasthave seen how thatthe JehovahLord thyyour God barebore theeyou as a man dothbears bear his son in all the way that yeyou went until yeyou came untoto this place |
| 1:32 |
Yet in spite of this thingword yeyou did not believe Jehovahthe Lord your God |
| 1:33 |
who went before you in the way to seek you out a place to pitch your tents in in fire by night to show you by what way yeyou should go and in the cloud by day |
| 1:34 |
And Jehovah heard the voiceLord ofheard your words and was wrothangered and swarehe sayingswore |
| 1:35 |
SurelyNot there shall not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land which I swareswore to give untoto your fathers |
| 1:36 |
saveexcept Caleb the son of JephunnehJephun′neh; he shall see it; and to him willand to his children I will give the land thatupon which he hathhas trodden upon and to his children because he hathhas wholly followed Jehovahthe Lord |
| 1:37 |
AlsoThe JehovahLord was angry with me foralso on your sakesaccount sayingand Thousaid You also shaltshall not go in thither:there; |
| 1:38 |
Joshua the son of Nun who standethstands before theeyou he shall goenter; in thither: encourage thou him; for he shall cause Israel to inherit it |
| 1:39 |
Moreover your little ones thatwho yeyou said shouldwould bebecome a prey and your children thatwho this day have no knowledge of good or evil they shall go in thitherthere and untoto them I will I give it and they shall possess it |
| 1:40 |
But as for you turn you and take your journey into the wilderness byin the waydirection toof the Red Sea |
| 1:41 |
Then yeyou answered and said unto me We have sinned against Jehovahthe Lord; we will go up and fight accordingjust toas allthe thatLord Jehovah our God commanded us And yeevery man of you girded on every man his weapons of war and werethought forwardit easy to go up into the hill country |
| 1:42 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me Say untoto them GoDo not go up neitheror fight; for I am not amongin the midst of you; lest yeyou be smittendefeated before your enemies |
| 1:43 |
So I spakespoke untoto you and yeyou hearkenedwould not hearken; but yeyou rebelled against the commandmentcommand of Jehovahthe Lord and were presumptuous and went up into the hill country |
| 1:44 |
AndThen the Amorites thatwho dweltlived in that hill country came out against you and chased you as bees do and beat you down in SeirSe′ir evenas untofar as Hormah |
| 1:45 |
And yeyou returned and wept before Jehovahthe Lord; but Jehovahthe hearkenedLord did not hearken to your voice noror gavegive ear untoto you |
| 1:46 |
So yeyou aboderemained inat Kadesh many days according unto the days that yeyou aboderemained there |
| 2:1 |
Then we turned and tookjourneyed our journey into the wilderness byin the waydirection toof the Red Sea as Jehovahthe spakeLord untotold me; and for many days we compassedwent mountabout SeirMount manySe′ir days |
| 2:2 |
AndThen Jehovahthe spakeLord untosaid to me saying |
| 2:3 |
YeYou have compassedbeen going about this mountain country long enough:; turn you northward |
| 2:4 |
And command thou the people sayingYou Ye are about to pass through the borderterritory of your brethren the childrensons of Esau thatwho dwelllive in SeirSe′ir; and they will be afraid of you TakeSo yetake good heed unto yourselves therefore; |
| 2:5 |
contenddo not contend with them; for I will not give you any of their land no not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on; because I have given mountMount SeirSe′ir untoto Esau foras a possession |
| 2:6 |
YeYou shall purchase food offrom them for money that yeyou may eat; and yeyou shall also buy water of them for money that yeyou may drink |
| 2:7 |
For Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas blessed theeyou in all the work of thyyour handhands; he hathknows knownyour thygoing walking through this great wilderness:; these forty years Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas been with theeyou; thouyou hasthave lacked nothing |
| 2:8 |
So we passedwent byon away from our brethren the childrensons of Esau thatwho dwelllive in SeirSe′ir away from the wayArabah ofroad the Arabah from Elath and fromE′zion Ezionge′ber geber And we turned and passedwent byin the waydirection of the wilderness of Moab |
| 2:9 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me VexDo not harass Moab neitheror contend with them in battle; for I will not give theeyou any of histheir land for a possession; because I have given Ar untoto the childrensons of Lot for a possession |
| 2:10 |
The Emim dweltformerly thereinlived aforetimethere a people great and many and tall as the Anakim:; |
| 2:11 |
theselike alsothe Anakim they are accountedalso Rephaimknown as theReph′aim Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim |
| 2:12 |
The Horites also dweltlived in SeirSe′ir aforetimeformerly but the childrensons of Esau succeededdispossessed them; and they destroyed them from before them and dweltsettled in their stead; as Israel did untoto the land of histheir possession which Jehovahthe Lord gave untoto them |
| 2:13 |
Now rise up and getgo you over the brook Zered AndSo we went over the brook Zered |
| 2:14 |
And the daystime infrom whichour weleaving cameKa′desh frombar′nea Kadesh barnea until we werecrossed come over the brook Zered werewas thirty and eight years; until all the entire generation ofthat is the men of war werehad consumedperished from the midstcamp ofas the campLord ashad Jehovahsworn swareto unto them |
| 2:15 |
MoreoverFor indeed the hand of Jehovahthe Lord was against them to destroy them from the midst of the camp until they werehad consumedperished |
| 2:16 |
So it came to pass when all the men of war werehad consumedperished and were dead from among the people |
| 2:17 |
thatthe JehovahLord spakesaid untoto me saying |
| 2:18 |
ThouThis artday thisyou dayare to pass over Ar the borderboundary of Moab: at Ar; |
| 2:19 |
and when thouyou comestapproach nighthe overfrontier againstof the childrensons of Ammon vexdo not harass them notor nor contend with them; for I will not give theeyou any of the land of the childrensons of Ammon foras a possession; because I have given it untoto the childrensons of Lot for a possession |
| 2:20 |
That also is accountedknown as a land of Rephaim:Reph′aim; RephaimReph′aim dweltformerly thereinlived aforetime;there but the Ammonites call them ZamzummimZamzum′mim |
| 2:21 |
a people great and many and tall as the Anakim; but Jehovahthe Lord destroyed them before them; and they succeededdispossessed them and dweltsettled in their stead; |
| 2:22 |
as he did for the childrensons of Esau thatwho dwelllive in SeirSe′ir when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeededdispossessed them and dweltsettled in their stead even untoto this day |
| 2:23 |
AndAs for the Avvim thatwho dweltlived in villages as far as Gaza the CaphtorimCaph′torim thatwho came forthfrom out of Caphtor destroyed them and dweltsettled in their stead |
| 2:24 |
Rise ye up take your journey and passgo over the valley of the Arnon:; behold I have given into thyyour hand Sihon the Amorite king of Heshbon and his land; begin to possesstake itpossession and contend with him in battle |
| 2:25 |
This day I will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of theeyou upon the peoples that are under the whole heaven who shall hear the report of theeyou and shall tremble and be in anguish because of theeyou |
| 2:26 |
AndSo I sent messengers outfrom of the wilderness of KedemothKed′emoth untoto Sihon the king of Heshbon with words of peace saying |
| 2:27 |
Let me pass through thyyour land:; I will go alongonly by the highwayroad I will turn aside neither untoto the right hand nor to the left |
| 2:28 |
ThouYou shaltshall sell me food for money that I may eat; and give me water for money that I may drink:; only let me pass through on myfoot feet; |
| 2:29 |
as the childrensons of Esau thatwho dwelllive in SeirSe′ir and the Moabites thatwho dwelllive in Ar did untofor me; until I shallgo pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovahthe Lord our God givethgives to us |
| 2:30 |
But Sihon the king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Jehovahthe thyLord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate that he might delivergive him into thyyour hand as at this day |
| 2:31 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me Behold I have begun to delivergive up Sihon and his land beforeover thee:to you; begin to possesstake possession that thouyou mayestmay inheritoccupy his land |
| 2:32 |
Then Sihon came out against us he and all his people untoto battle at Jahaz |
| 2:33 |
And Jehovahthe Lord our God deliveredgave him upover beforeto us; and we smotedefeated him and his sons and all his people |
| 2:34 |
And we tookcaptured all his cities at that time and utterly destroyed every inhabited city withmen the women and the little oneschildren; we left none remaining:; |
| 2:35 |
only the cattle we took foras aspoil preyfor unto ourselves with the spoilbooty of the cities which we hadcaptured taken |
| 2:36 |
From AroerAro′er which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon and from the city that is in the valley evenas untofar as Gilead there was not a city too high for us; Jehovahthe Lord our God deliveredgave up all beforeinto us:our hands |
| 2:37 |
onlyOnly to the land of the childrensons of Ammon thouyou camestdid not draw near; that is to all the sidebanks of the river Jabbok and the cities of the hill country and wheresoeverwherever Jehovahthe Lord our God forbade us |
| 3:1 |
Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan:; and Og the king of Bashan came out against us he and all his people untoto battle at EdreiEd′re i |
| 3:2 |
AndBut Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me FearDo not fear him not; for I have deliveredgiven him and all his people and his land into thyyour hand; and thouyou shaltshall do untoto him as thouyou didstdid untoto Sihon the king of the Amorites who dwelt at Heshbon |
| 3:3 |
So Jehovahthe Lord our God deliveredgave into our hand Og also the king of Bashan and all his people:; and we smote him until noneno survivor was left to him remaining |
| 3:4 |
And we took all his cities at that time; —there was not a city which we tookdid not take from them;—sixty threescore cities all the whole region of Argob the kingdom of Og in Bashan |
| 3:5 |
All these were cities fortified with high walls gates and bars; besides thevery many unwalled townsvillages a great many |
| 3:6 |
And we utterly destroyed them as we did untoto Sihon the king of Heshbon utterly destroying every inhabited city withmen the women and thechildren little ones |
| 3:7 |
But all the cattle and the spoil of the cities we took foras aour preybooty unto ourselves |
| 3:8 |
AndSo we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites thatwho were beyond the Jordan from the valley of the Arnon untoto mountMount Hermon |
| 3:9 |
which Hermon the SidoniansSido′nians call SirionHermon andSi′rion while the Amorites call it Senir; |
| 3:10 |
all the cities of the plaintableland and all Gilead and all Bashan untoas Salecahfar as Sal′ecah and EdreiEd′re i cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan |
| 3:11 |
For only Og the king of Bashan remainedwas left of the remnant of the RephaimReph′aim; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbah of the childrenAmmonites ofNine Ammon nine cubits was theits length thereof and four cubits theits breadth ofaccording itto after the common cubit of a man |
| 3:12 |
AndWhen this land we took in possession of this land at that time: fromI Aroergave to the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory beginning at Aro′er which is byon the edge of the valley of the Arnon and half the hill country of Gilead andwith theits cities; thereof gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites: |
| 3:13 |
and the rest of Gilead and all Bashan the kingdom of Og gavethat Iis untoall the halfregion tribe of Manasseh;Argob allI gave to the regionhalf tribe of ArgobManas′seh evenThe allwhole Bashanof Thethat sameBashan is called the land of RephaimReph′aim |
| 3:14 |
JairJa′ir the sonManas′site of Manasseh took all the region of Argob untothat is Bashan as far as the border of the GeshuritesGesh′urites and the MaacathitesMa ac′athites and called themthe evenvillages Bashan after his own name HavvothHav′voth jairja′ir untoas it is to this day |
| 3:15 |
AndTo Machir I gave Gilead unto Machir |
| 3:16 |
Andand untoto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave the territory from Gilead evenas untofar as the valley of the Arnon with the middle of the valley andas thea borderboundary thereofas evenfar untoover as the river Jabbok which is the borderboundary of the children of AmmonAmmonites; |
| 3:17 |
the Arabah also andwith the Jordan andas the borderboundary thereof from ChinnerethChin′nereth evenas untofar as the sea of the Arabah the Salt Sea under the slopes of Pisgah eastwardon the east |
| 3:18 |
And I commanded you at that time saying JehovahThe Lord your God hathhas given you this land to possess; it:all yeyour men of valor shall pass over armed before your brethren the childrenpeople of Israel all the men of valor |
| 3:19 |
But your wives and your little ones and your cattle I know that yeyou have muchmany cattle shall abideremain in yourthe cities which I have given you |
| 3:20 |
until Jehovahthe giveLord gives rest untoto your brethren as untoto you and they also possessoccupy the land which Jehovahthe Lord your God givethgives them beyond the Jordan:; then you shall ye return every man untoto his possession which I have given you |
| 3:21 |
And I commanded Joshua at that time sayingYour Thine eyes have seen all that Jehovahthe Lord your God hathhas done untoto these two kings:; so shallwill Jehovahthe Lord do untoto all the kingdoms whitherinto thouwhich goestyou are going over |
| 3:22 |
YeYou shall not fear them; for Jehovahit youris Godthe heLord ityour isGod thatwho fightethfights for you |
| 3:23 |
And I besought Jehovahthe Lord at that time saying |
| 3:24 |
O Lord JehovahGod thou hast only begun to show thy servant thy greatness and thy strongmighty hand:; for what god is there in heaven or inon earth thatwho can do accordingsuch to thy works and accordingmighty toacts thyas mightythine acts |
| 3:25 |
Let me go over I pray thee and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan that goodly mountainhill country and Lebanon |
| 3:26 |
But Jehovahthe Lord was wrothangry with me foron your sakesaccount and hearkenedwould not untohearken to me; and Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me Let it suffice theeyou; speak no more untoto me of this matter |
| 3:27 |
GetGo thee up untoto the top of Pisgah and lift up thineyour eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward and behold it with thineyour eyes:; for thouyou shaltshall not go over this Jordan |
| 3:28 |
But charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him; for he shall go over beforeat the head of this people and he shall causeput them toin inheritpossession of the land which thouyou shaltshall see |
| 3:29 |
So we aboderemained in the valley overopposite against Beth peorpe′or |
| 4:1 |
And now O Israel hearkengive untoheed to the statutes and unto the ordinances which I teach you toand do them; that yeyou may live and go in and possesstake possession of the land which Jehovahthe Lord the God of your fathers givethgives you |
| 4:2 |
YeYou shall not add untoto the word which I command you neithernor shalltake ye diminish from it; that yeyou may keep the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord your God which I command you |
| 4:3 |
Your eyes have seen what Jehovahthe Lord did becauseat ofBa′al Baal peorpe′or; for all the menLord thatyour followedGod Baaldestroyed peorfrom Jehovahamong thyyou Godall haththe destroyedmen themwho fromfollowed the midstBa′al of theePe′or; |
| 4:4 |
Butbut yeyou thatwho didheld cleavefast untoto Jehovahthe Lord your God are all alive every one of you this day |
| 4:5 |
Behold I have taught you statutes and ordinances even as Jehovahthe Lord my God commanded me that yeyou should do sothem in the midstland ofwhich theyou landare whitherentering yeto gotake inpossession toof possess it |
| 4:6 |
Keep thereforethem and do them; for thisthat iswill be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples thatwho shallwhen they hear all these statutes andwill say Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people |
| 4:7 |
For what great nation is there that hathhas a god so nighnear untoto themit as Jehovahthe Lord our God is whensoeverto us whenever we call upon him |
| 4:8 |
And what great nation is there that hathhas statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law which I set before you this day |
| 4:9 |
Only take heed to thyself and keep thyyour soul diligently lest thouyou forget the things which thineyour eyes sawhave seen and lest they depart from thyyour heart all the days of thyyour life; but make them known untoto thyyour children and thyyour childrens children;— |
| 4:10 |
how on the day that thouyou stoodeststood before Jehovahthe thyLord your God inat Horeb whenthe JehovahLord said untoto me AssembleGather me the people andto me that I willmay makelet them hear my words so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live upon the earth and that they may teach their children so |
| 4:11 |
And yeyou came near and stood underat the foot of the mountain; andwhile the mountain burned with fire untoto the heart of heaven withwrapped in darkness cloud and thickgloom darkness |
| 4:12 |
AndThen Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to you out of the midst of the fire:; yeyou heard the voicesound of words but ye saw no form; onlythere yewas heardonly a voice |
| 4:13 |
And he declared untoto you his covenant which he commanded you to perform eventhat is the ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone |
| 4:14 |
And Jehovahthe Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances that yeyou might do them in the land whitherwhich yeyou goare going over to possess it |
| 4:15 |
TakeTherefore yetake therefore good heed untoto yourselves; forSince yeyou saw no manner of form on the day that Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to you inat Horeb out of the midst of the fire; |
| 4:16 |
beware lest yeyou corruptact yourselvescorruptly andby makemaking you a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure the likeness of male or female |
| 4:17 |
the likeness of any beast that is on the earth the likeness of any winged bird that fliethflies in the heavensair |
| 4:18 |
the likeness of anything that creepethcreeps on the ground the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth; |
| 4:19 |
andAnd beware lest thouyou lift up thineyour eyes untoto heaven and when thouyou seestsee the sun and the moon and the stars even all the host of heaven thouyou be drawn away and worship them and serve them things which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas allotted untoto all the peoples under the whole heaven |
| 4:20 |
But Jehovahthe hathLord has taken you and brought you forth out of the iron furnace out of Egypt to be unto him a people of inheritancehis own possession as at this day |
| 4:21 |
Furthermore Jehovahthe Lord was angry with me foron your sakesaccount and swarehe swore that I should not gocross over the Jordan and that I should not goenter inthe unto that good land which Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethgives theeyou for an inheritance: |
| 4:22 |
butFor I must die in this land I must not go over the Jordan; but yeyou shall go over and possesstake possession of that good land |
| 4:23 |
Take heed untoto yourselves lest yeyou forget the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord your God which he made with you and make you a graven image in the form of anything which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas forbidden theeyou |
| 4:24 |
For Jehovahthe thyLord your God is a devouring fire a jealous God |
| 4:25 |
When thouyou shalt beget children and childrens children and ye shall have beengrown longold in the land andif shallyou corruptact yourselvescorruptly andby makemaking a graven image in the form of anything and shallby dodoing thatwhat which is evil in the sight of Jehovahthe thyLord your God so as to provoke him to anger; |
| 4:26 |
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day that yeyou shallwill soon utterly perish from off the land whereuntowhich yeyou goare going over the Jordan to possess it; yeyou shallwill not prolonglive yourlong days upon it but shallwill be utterly be destroyed |
| 4:27 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will scatter you among the peoples and yeyou shallwill be left few in number among the nations whitherwhere Jehovahthe shallLord leadwill drive you away |
| 4:28 |
And there yeyou shallwill serve gods of wood and stone the work of mens hands woodthat and stone which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell |
| 4:29 |
But from thencethere yeyou shallwill seek Jehovahthe thyLord your God and thouyou shaltwill find him whenif thouyou searchestsearch after him with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul |
| 4:30 |
When thouyou artare in tribulation and all these things are come upon theeyou in the latter days thouyou shaltwill return to Jehovahthe thyLord your God and hearkenobey unto his voice: |
| 4:31 |
for Jehovahthe thyLord your God is a merciful God; he will not fail theeyou neitheror destroy theeyou noror forget the covenant ofwith thyyour fathers which he swareswore untoto them |
| 4:32 |
For ask now of the days that are past which were before theeyou since the day that God created man upon the earth and ask from the one end of heaven untoto the other whether theresuch hatha beengreat any such thing as this greathas thingever ishappened or hathwas beenever heard likeof it |
| 4:33 |
Did everany a people ever hear the voice of Goda god speaking out of the midst of the fire as thouyou hasthave heard and still live |
| 4:34 |
Or hathhas Godany assayedgod ever attempted to go and take him a nation for himself from the midst of another nation by trials by signs and by wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm and by great terrors according to all that Jehovahthe Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes |
| 4:35 |
UntoTo theeyou it was showedshown that thouyou mightestmight know that Jehovahthe heLord is God; there is noneno elseother besides him |
| 4:36 |
Out of heaven he madelet theeyou to hear his voice that he might instructdiscipline thee:you; and uponon earth he madelet theeyou to see his great fire; and thouyou heardestheard his words out of the midst of the fire |
| 4:37 |
And because he loved thyyour fathers thereforeand he chose their seeddescendants after them and brought theeyou out of Egypt with his own presence withby his great power out of Egypt; |
| 4:38 |
todriving drive out nationsbefore fromyou beforenations thee greater and mightier than thouyourselves to bring theeyou in to give theeyou their land for an inheritance as at this day; |
| 4:39 |

and thouyou shaltshall teach them diligently untoto thyyour children and shaltshall talk of them when thouyou sittestsit in thyyour house and when thouyou walkestwalk by the way and when thouyou liestlie down and when thouyou risestrise up |
| 6:8 |
And thouyou shaltshall bind them foras a sign upon thyyour hand and they shall be foras frontlets between thineyour eyes |
| 6:9 |
And thouyou shaltshall write them uponon the doordoorposts posts of thyyour house and uponon thyyour gates |
| 6:10 |
And itwhen shallthe beLord whenyour Jehovah thy God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land which he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob to give theeyou with great and goodly cities which thouyou buildestdid not build |

ThouYou shaltshall fear Jehovahthe thyLord your God; andyou himshall shaltserve thouhim serve and shalt swear by his name |
| 6:14 |
YeYou shall not go after other gods of the gods of the peoples thatwho are round about you; |
| 6:15 |
for Jehovahthe thyLord your God in the midst of theeyou is a jealous God; lest the anger of Jehovahthe thyLord your God be kindled against theeyou and he destroy theeyou from off the face of the earth |
| 6:16 |
YeYou shall not temptput Jehovahthe Lord your God to the test as yeyou temptedtested him inat Massah |

| 6:18 |
And thouyou shaltshall do thatwhat which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah;the Lord that it may bego well with theeyou and that thouyou mayestmay go in and possesstake possession of the good land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore thyto give to your fathers |

toby thrustthrusting out all thineyour enemies from before theeyou as Jehovahthe hathLord spokenhas promised |
| 6:20 |
When thyyour son askethasks theeyou in time to come saying What meanis the meaning of the testimonies and the statutes and the ordinances which Jehovahthe Lord our God hathhas commanded you |
| 6:21 |
then thouyou shaltshall say untoto thyyour son We were Pharaohs bondmenslaves in Egypt:; and Jehovahthe Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand; |
| 6:22 |
and Jehovahthe Lord showed signs and wonders great and soregrievous uponagainst Egypt uponand against Pharaoh and upon all his househousehold before our eyes; |
| 6:23 |
and he brought us out from thencethere that he might bring us in toand give us the land which he swareswore untoto give to our fathers |
| 6:24 |
And Jehovahthe Lord commanded us to do all these statutes to fear Jehovahthe Lord our God for our good always that he might preserve us alive as at this day |
| 6:25 |
And it shallwill be righteousness untofor us if we observeare careful to do all this commandment before Jehovahthe Lord our God as he hathhas commanded us |
| 7:1 |
When Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land whitherwhich thouyou goestare entering to possesstake possession of it and shallclears castaway out many nations before theeyou the HittiteHittites and the GirgashiteGir′gashites and the AmoriteAmorites and the CanaaniteCanaanites and the PerizzitePer′izzites and the HiviteHivites and the JebusiteJeb′usites seven nations greater and mightier than thou;yourselves |
| 7:2 |
and when Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallgives deliver them upover beforeto theeyou and thouyou shaltdefeat smite them; then thouyou shaltmust utterly destroy them:; thouyou shaltshall make no covenant with them norand show no mercy untoto them; |
| 7:3 |
neitherYou shaltshall thounot make marriages with them; thygiving daughteryour thoudaughters shaltto nottheir givesons untoor histaking sontheir nordaughters hisfor daughteryour shaltsons thou take unto thy son |
| 7:4 |
For hethey willwould turn away thyyour sonsons from following me thatto they may serve other gods:; sothen will the anger of Jehovahthe Lord would be kindled against you and he willwould destroy theeyou quickly |
| 7:5 |
But thus shall yeyou deal with them: yeyou shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their pillars and hew down their AsherimAshe′rim and burn their graven images with fire |
| 7:6 |
For thouyou artare a people holy peopleto untothe JehovahLord thyyour God:; Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas chosen theeyou to be a people for his own possession aboveout of all the peoples that are uponon the face of the earth |
| 7:7 |
JehovahIt didwas not setbecause his love upon you nor choose you because ye were more in number than any other people; that the Lord set his love upon you and chose you for yeyou were the fewest of all peoples:; |
| 7:8 |
but it is because Jehovahthe lovethLord loves you and becauseis hekeeping would keep the oath which he swareswore untoto your fathers haththat Jehovahthe Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you outfrom of the house of bondage from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt |
| 7:9 |

| 7:16 |
And thouyou shaltshall consumedestroy all the peoples that Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallwill delivergive untoover thee;to thineyou your eye shall not pity them:; neither shaltshall thouyou serve their gods; for that willwould be a snare untoto theeyou |
| 7:17 |
If thouyou shalt say in thyyour heart These nations are moregreater than I; how can I dispossess them |
| 7:18 |
thouyou shaltshall not be afraid of them: thoubut shaltyou wellshall remember what Jehovahthe thyLord your God did untoto Pharaoh and untoto all Egypt; |
| 7:19 |
the great trials which thineyour eyes saw and the signs and the wonders and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm wherebyby Jehovahwhich thythe Lord your God brought theeyou out:; so shallwill Jehovahthe thyLord your God do untoto all the peoples of whom thouyou artare afraid |
| 7:20 |
Moreover Jehovahthe thyLord your God will send thehornets hornet among them until theythose thatwho are left and hide themselves perish from beforeyou theeare destroyed |
| 7:21 |
ThouYou shaltshall not be affrightedin atdread of them; for Jehovahthe thyLord your God is in the midst of theeyou a great God and a terrible God |
| 7:22 |
AndThe JehovahLord thyyour God will castclear outaway thosethese nations before theeyou by little andby little:; thouyou mayestmay not consumemake an end of them at once lest the wild beasts ofgrow thetoo fieldnumerous increasefor uponyou thee |
| 7:23 |
But Jehovahthe thyLord your God will delivergive them upover beforeto theeyou and willthrow discomfit them withinto a great discomfitureconfusion until they beare destroyed |
| 7:24 |
And he will delivergive their kings into thyyour hand and thouyou shaltshall make their name to perish from under heaven:; therenot shalla no man shall be able to stand beforeagainst theeyou until thouyou have destroyed them |
| 7:25 |
The graven images of their gods you shall ye burn with fire:; thouyou shaltshall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them noror take it untofor theeyourselves lest thouyou be snaredensnared thereinby it; for it is an abomination to Jehovahthe thyLord your God |
| 7:26 |
And thouyou shaltshall not bring an abominationabominable thing into thyyour house and become aaccursed devoted thing like unto it:; thouyou shaltshall utterly detest it and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is aan devotedaccursed thing |
| 8:1 |
All the commandment which I command theeyou this day you shall yebe observecareful to do that yeyou may live and multiply and go in and possess the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to give to your fathers |
| 8:2 |
And thouyou shaltshall remember all the way which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas led theeyou these forty years in the wilderness that he might humble theeyou totesting proveyou thee to know what was in thyyour heart whether thouyou wouldestwould keep his commandments or not |
| 8:3 |
And he humbled theeyou and sufferedlet theeyou to hunger and fed theeyou with manna which thouyou knewestdid not neitherknow nor did thyyour fathers know; that he might make theeyou know that man dothdoes not live by bread onlyalone but that man lives by everything that proceedethproceeds out of the mouth of Jehovahthe dothLord man live |
| 8:4 |
ThyYour raimentclothing waxeddid not oldwear out upon theeyou neitherand your foot did thynot foot swell these forty years |
| 8:5 |
AndKnow thouthen shalt consider in thyyour heart that as a man chastenethdisciplines his son sothe JehovahLord thyyour God chastenethdisciplines theeyou |
| 8:6 |
AndSo thouyou shaltshall keep the commandments of Jehovahthe thyLord your God toby walkwalking in his ways and toby fearfearing him |
| 8:7 |
For Jehovahthe thyLord your God bringethis theebringing you into a good land a land of brooks of water of fountains and springs flowing forth in valleys and hills; |
| 8:8 |
a land of wheat and barley andof vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey; |
| 8:9 |
a land whereinin thouwhich shaltyou will eat bread without scarcenessscarcity thouin shaltwhich notyou will lack anythingnothing in it; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills thouyou mayestcan dig copper |
| 8:10 |
And thouyou shaltshall eat and be full and thouyou shaltshall bless Jehovahthe thyLord your God for the good land which he hathhas given theeyou |
| 8:11 |
BewareTake heed lest thouyou forget Jehovahthe thyLord your God inby not keeping his commandments and his ordinances and his statutes which I command theeyou this day: |
| 8:12 |
lest when thouyou hasthave eaten and artare full and hasthave built goodly houses and dweltlive therein;in them |
| 8:13 |
and when thyyour herds and thy flocks multiply and thyyour silver and thy gold is multiplied and all that thouyou hasthave is multiplied; |
| 8:14 |
then thyyour heart be lifted up and thouyou forget Jehovahthe thyLord your God who brought theeyou forth out of the land of Egypt out of the house of bondage; |
| 8:15 |
who led theeyou through the great and terrible wilderness whereinwith wereits fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water; who brought theeyou forth water out of the flinty rock of flint; |
| 8:16 |
who fed theeyou in the wilderness with manna which thyyour fathers knewdid not; know that he might humble theeyou and thattest heyou might prove thee to do theeyou good atin thythe latter end: |
| 8:17 |
andBeware lest thouyou say in thyyour heart My power and the might of my hand hathhave gotten me this wealth |
| 8:18 |
ButYou thoushall shalt remember Jehovahthe thyLord your God for it is he thatwho givethgives theeyou power to get wealth; that he may establishconfirm his covenant which he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers as at this day |
| 8:19 |
And it shall be if thouyou shalt forget Jehovahthe thyLord your God and walkgo after other gods and serve them and worship them I testifysolemnly againstwarn you this day that yeyou shall surely perish |
| 8:20 |
AsLike the nations that Jehovahthe makethLord makes to perish before you so shall yeyou perish; because yeyou would not hearkenobey unto the voice of Jehovahthe Lord your God |
| 9:1 |
Hear O Israel:; thouyou artare to pass over the Jordan this day to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than thyselfyourselves cities great and fortified up to heaven |
| 9:2 |
a people great and tall the sons of the Anakim whom thouyou knowestknow and of whom thouyou hasthave heard sayit said Who can stand before the sons of Anak |
| 9:3 |
Know therefore this day that Jehovah thy God is he who goethgoes over before theeyou as a devouring fire is the Lord your God; he will destroy them and hesubdue will bring them down before thee:you; so shaltyou thoushall drive them out and make them to perish quickly as Jehovahthe hathLord spokenhas untopromised thee you |
| 9:4 |
SpeakDo not thousay in thyyour heart after thatthe JehovahLord thyyour God hathhas thrust them out from before theeyou sayingIt Foris because of my righteousness Jehovahthat haththe Lord has brought me in to possess this land; whereas forit is because of the wickedness of these nations Jehovahthat doththe driveLord is driving them out from before theeyou |
| 9:5 |
Not forbecause thyof your righteousness or for the uprightness of thyyour heart dostare thouyou gogoing in to possess their land; but forbecause of the wickedness of these nations Jehovahthe thyLord your God dothis drivedriving them out from before theeyou and that he may establishconfirm the word which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore thyto your fathers to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob |
| 9:6 |
Know therefore that Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethis thee not giving you this good land to possess itbecause forof thyyour righteousness; for thouyou artare a stiffneckedstubborn people |
| 9:7 |
Remember forgetand thoudo not forget how thouyou provokedstprovoked Jehovahthe thyLord your God to wrath in the wilderness:; from the day thatyou thoucame wentest forth out of the land of Egypt until yeyou came untoto this place yeyou have been rebellious against Jehovahthe Lord |
| 9:8 |
AlsoEven inat Horeb yeyou provoked Jehovahthe Lord to wrath and Jehovahthe Lord was so angry with you that he was ready to destroy you |
| 9:9 |
When I waswent gone up into the mountmountain to receive the tables of stone even the tables of the covenant which Jehovahthe Lord made with you then I aboderemained inon the mountmountain forty days and forty nights; I did neither eatate bread nor drinkdrank water |
| 9:10 |
And Jehovahthe deliveredLord untogave me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them waswere written according to all the words which Jehovahthe spakeLord had spoken with you inon the mountmountain out of the midst of the fire inon the day of the assembly |
| 9:11 |
And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights thatthe JehovahLord gave me the two tables of stone even the tables of the covenant |
| 9:12 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me Arise getgo thee down quickly from hencehere; for thyyour people thatwhom thouyou hasthave brought forthfrom out of Egypt have corruptedacted themselvescorruptly; they arehave quickly turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them; they have made themthemselves a molten image |
| 9:13 |
Furthermore Jehovahthe spakeLord untosaid to me saying I have seen this people and behold it is a stiffneckedstubborn people:; |
| 9:14 |
let me alone that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of theeyou a nation mightier and greater than they |
| 9:15 |
So I turned and came down from the mountmountain and the mountmountain was burning with fire:; and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands |
| 9:16 |
And I looked and behold yeyou had sinned against Jehovahthe Lord your God; yeyou had made youyourselves a molten calf:; yeyou had turned aside quickly outfrom of the way which Jehovahthe Lord had commanded you |
| 9:17 |
AndSo I took hold of the two tables and cast them out of my two hands and brakebroke them before your eyes |
| 9:18 |
AndThen I felllay downprostrate before Jehovahthe Lord as atbefore the first forty days and forty nights; I did neither eatate bread nor drinkdrank water; because of all yourthe sin which yeyou sinnedhad committed in doing thatwhat which was evil in the sight of Jehovahthe Lord to provoke him to anger |
| 9:19 |
For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure wherewithwhich Jehovahthe wasLord wrothbore against you so that he was ready to destroy you But Jehovahthe Lord hearkened untoto me that time also |
| 9:20 |
And Jehovahthe Lord was veryso angry with Aaron that he was ready to destroy him:; and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time |
| 9:21 |
AndThen I took yourthe sinsinful thing the calf which yeyou had made and burntburned it with fire and stampedcrushed it grinding it very small until it was as fine as dust:; and I castthrew the dust thereofof it into the brook that descended out of the mountmountain |
| 9:22 |
AndAt atTab′erah Taberahalso and at Massah and at KibrothKib′roth hattaavahhatta′avah yeyou provoked Jehovahthe Lord to wrath |
| 9:23 |
And when Jehovahthe Lord sent you from KadeshKa′desh barneabar′nea saying Go up and possesstake possession of the land which I have given you; then yeyou rebelled against the commandment of Jehovahthe Lord your God and yedid believednot believe him notor norobey hearkened to his voice |
| 9:24 |
YeYou have been rebellious against Jehovahthe Lord from the day that I knew you |
| 9:25 |
So I felllay downprostrate before Jehovah the Lord for these forty days and forty nights thatbecause Ithe fellLord down because Jehovah had said he would destroy you |
| 9:26 |
And I prayed untoto Jehovahthe andLord said O Lord JehovahGod destroy not thy people and thinethy inheritanceheritage thatwhom thou hast redeemed through thy greatness thatwhom thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand |
| 9:27 |
Remember thy servants Abraham Isaac and Jacob; lookdo not untoregard the stubbornness of this people noror to their wickedness noror to their sin |
| 9:28 |
lest the land whencefrom which thou broughtestdidst bring us out say Because Jehovahthe Lord was not able to bring them into the land which he promised unto them and because he hated them he hathhas brought them out to slay them in the wilderness |
| 9:29 |
YetFor they are thy people and thinethy inheritanceheritage whichwhom thou broughtestdidst bring out by thy great power and by thinethy outstretched arm |
| 10:1 |
At that time Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first and come up untoto me intoon the mountmountain and make thee an ark of wood |
| 10:2 |
And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which thouyou brakestbroke and thouyou shaltshall put them in the ark |
| 10:3 |
So I made an ark of acacia wood and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first and went up into the mountmountain havingwith the two tables in my hand |
| 10:4 |
And he wrote on the tables accordingas toat the first writing the ten commandments which Jehovahthe spakeLord untohad spoken to you inon the mountmountain out of the midst of the fire inon the day of the assembly:; and Jehovahthe Lord gave them untoto me |
| 10:5 |
AndThen I turned and came down from the mountmountain and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Jehovahthe Lord commanded me |
| 10:6 |
AndThe thepeople children of Israel journeyed from BeerothBe er′oth Bene jaakanja′akan to MoserahMose′rah There Aaron died and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son Elea′zar ministered inas thepriest priests office in his stead |
| 10:7 |
From thencethere they journeyed untoto Gudgodah;Gud′godah and from GudgodahGud′godah to JotbathahJot′bathah a land ofwith brooks of water |
| 10:8 |
At that time Jehovahthe Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to bearcarry the ark of the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord to stand before Jehovahthe Lord to minister untoto him and to bless in his name untoto this day |
| 10:9 |
WhereforeTherefore Levi hathhas no portion noror inheritance with his brethrenbrothers; Jehovahthe Lord is his inheritance according as Jehovahthe thyLord your God spakesaid untoto him |
| 10:10 |
And I stayed inon the mountmountain as at the first time forty days and forty nights: and Jehovahthe Lord hearkened untoto me that time also; Jehovahthe wouldLord notwas unwilling to destroy theeyou |
| 10:11 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me Arise takego thyon your journey beforeat the head of the people; andthat they shallmay go in and possess the land which I swareswore untoto their fathers to give unto them |
| 10:12 |
And now Israel what dothdoes Jehovahthe thyLord your God require of theeyou but to fear Jehovahthe thyLord your God to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul |
| 10:13 |
and to keep the commandments ofand Jehovahstatutes andof histhe statutesLord which I command theeyou this day for thyyour good |
| 10:14 |
Behold untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God belongethbelong heaven and the heaven of heavens the earth with all that is thereinin it; |
| 10:15 |
Onlyyet Jehovahthe hadLord aset delighthis heart in thylove fathersupon toyour lovefathers them and he chose their seeddescendants after them even you above all peoples as at this day |
| 10:16 |
Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart and be no morelonger stiffneckedstubborn |
| 10:17 |
For Jehovahthe Lord your God he is God of gods and Lord of lords the great God the mighty and the terrible God who regardethis not personspartial norand takethtakes rewardno bribe |
| 10:18 |
He dothexecutes execute justice for the fatherless and the widow and lovethloves the sojourner in giving him food and raimentclothing |
| 10:19 |
Love ye therefore the sojourner therefore; for yeyou were sojourners in the land of Egypt |
| 10:20 |
ThouYou shaltshall fear Jehovahthe thyLord your God; himyou shaltshall thou serve; him and cleave to him shalt thou cleave and by his name shaltyou thoushall swear |
| 10:21 |
He is thyyour praise; and he is thyyour God thatwho hathhas done for theeyou these great and terrible things which thineyour eyes have seen |
| 10:22 |
ThyYour fathers went down intoto Egypt withseventy threescore and ten persons; and now Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas made theeyou as the stars of heaven for multitude |
| 11:1 |
ThereforeYou thoushall shalttherefore love Jehovahthe thyLord your God and keep his charge and his statutes and his ordinances and his commandments alwayalways |
| 11:2 |
And knowconsider ye this day: forsince I speakam not withspeaking to your children thatwho have not known andor thatseen haveit notconsider seen the chastisementdiscipline of Jehovahthe Lord your God his greatness his mighty hand and his outstretched arm |
| 11:3 |
and his signs and his worksdeeds which he did in the midst of Egypt untoto Pharaoh the king of Egypt and untoto all his land; |
| 11:4 |
and what he did untoto the army of Egypt untoto their horses and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you and how Jehovahthe hathLord has destroyed them untoto this day; |
| 11:5 |
and what he did untoto you in the wilderness until yeyou came untoto this place; |
| 11:6 |
and what he did untoto Dathan and AbiramAbi′ram the sons of EliabEli′ab the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up andwith their households and their tents and every living thing that followed them in the midst of all Israel:; |
| 11:7 |
butfor your eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovahthe Lord which he did |
| 11:8 |

and that yeyou may prolonglive yourlong days in the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to your fathers to give untoto them and to their seeddescendants a land flowing with milk and honey |
| 11:10 |
For the land whitherwhich thouyou goestare inentering to possesstake possession of it is not aslike the land of Egypt from whencewhich yeyou camehave outcome where thouyou sowedstsowed thyyour seed and wateredstwatered it with thyyour footfeet aslike a garden of herbsvegetables; |
| 11:11 |
but the land whitherwhich yeyou goare going over to possess it is a land of hills and valleys andwhich drinkethdrinks water ofby the rain offrom heaven |
| 11:12 |
a land which Jehovahthe thyLord your God carethcares for:; the eyes of Jehovahthe thyLord your God are always upon it from the beginning of the year evento unto the end of the year |

| 11:16 |
Take heed to yourselves lest your heart be deceived and yeyou turn aside and serve other gods and worship them; |
| 11:17 |
and the anger of Jehovahthe Lord be kindled against you and he shut up the heavens so that there shall be no rain and the land shall not yield itsno fruit; and yeyou perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovahthe givethLord gives you |
| 11:18 |

And yeyou shall teach them to your children talking of them when thouyou sittestare sitting in thyyour house and when thouyou walkestare walking by the way and when thouyou liestlie down and when thouyou risestrise up |
| 11:20 |
And thouyou shaltshall write them upon the doordoorposts posts of thyyour house and upon thyyour gates; |
| 11:21 |
that your days may be multiplied and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to your fathers to give them as thelong daysas of the heavens are above the earth |

For if yeyou shallwill diligentlybe keepcareful to do all this commandment which I command you to do itloving tothe loveLord Jehovah your God towalking walk in all his ways and cleaving to cleave unto him; |

But if any man hatehates his neighbor and lielies in wait for him and riseattacks up against him and smitewounds him mortally so that he diethdies and hethe fleeman flees into one of these cities; |

| 19:13 |
ThineYour eye shall not pity him but thouyou shaltshall putpurge away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel so that it may gobe well with theeyou |

And when yeyou came untoto this place Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out against us untoto battle andbut we smotedefeated them:; |
| 29:8 |
and we took their land and gave it for an inheritance untoto the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to the half tribe of the ManassitesManas′sites |

that he may establish theeyou this day untoas himselfhis for a people and that he may be untoyour thee a God as he spakepromised untoyou thee and as he swareswore untoto thyyour fathers to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob |
| 29:14 |
NeitherNor is it with you only dothat I make this sworn covenant and this oath |
| 29:15 |
but with him thatwho standethis not here with us this day beforeas Jehovahwell ouras God and also with him thatwho isstands not here with us this day before the Lord our God |
| 29:16 |
forYou ye know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt and how we came through the midst of the nations through which yeyou passed; |

andone itwho come to pass when he hearethhears the words of this cursesworn thatcovenant heblesses bless himself in his heart saying I shall havebe peacesafe though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart This would lead to destroy the sweeping away of moist withand the dry alike |
| 29:20 |
JehovahThe willLord would not pardon him but thenrather the anger of Jehovahthe Lord and his jealousy willwould smoke against that man and all the cursecurses that is written in this book shallwould liesettle upon him and Jehovahthe willLord would blot out his name from under heaven |

| 29:24 |
evenyea all the nations shallwould say WhereforeWhy hathhas Jehovahthe Lord done thus untoto this land whatWhat meanethmeans the heat of this great anger |
| 29:25 |
Then men shallwould say BecauseIt is because they forsook the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord the God of their fathers which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt |
| 29:26 |
and went and served other gods and worshippedworshiped them gods thatwhom they knewhad not known and thatwhom he had not givenallotted untoto them:; |

| 29:28 |
and Jehovahthe rootedLord uprooted them outfrom of their land in anger and infury wrath and in great indignationwrath and cast them into another land as at this day |
| 29:29 |
The secret things belong untoto Jehovahthe Lord our God; but the things that are revealed belong untoto us and to our children for ever that we may do all the words of this law |
| 30:1 |
And it shall come to pass when all these things are come upon theeyou the blessing and the curse which I have set before theeyou and thouyou shalt call them to mind among all the nations whitherwhere Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas driven theeyou |

| 30:4 |
If anyyour of thine outcasts beare in the uttermost parts of heaven from thencethere willthe JehovahLord thyyour God will gather theeyou and from thencethere he will he fetch thee:you; |
| 30:5 |
and Jehovahthe thyLord your God will bring theeyou into the land which thyyour fathers possessed andthat thouyou shaltmay possess it; and he will domake theeyou goodmore prosperous and multiplynumerous theethan aboveyour thy fathers |
| 30:6 |
And Jehovahthe thyLord your God will circumcise thyyour heart and the heart of thyyour seedoffspring toso that you will love Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul that thouyou mayestmay live |
| 30:7 |
And Jehovahthe thyLord your God will put all these curses upon thineyour enemiesfoes and onenemies themwho that hate thee that persecuted theeyou |

| 30:10 |
if thouyou shalt obey the voice of Jehovahthe thyLord your God to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law; if thouyou turn untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul |
| 30:11 |
For this commandment which I command theeyou this day it is not too hard for theeyou neither is it far off |
| 30:12 |
It is not in heaven that thouyou shouldestshould say Who shallwill go up for us to heaven and bring it untoto us andthat makewe usmay to hear it thatand we may do it |
| 30:13 |
Neither is it beyond the sea that thouyou shouldestshould say Who shallwill go over the sea for us and bring it untoto us andthat makewe usmay to hear it thatand we may do it |
| 30:14 |
But the word is very nighnear untoyou; theeit is in thyyour mouth and in thyyour heart so that thouyou mayestcan do it |
| 30:15 |
See I have set before theeyou this day life and good and death and evil; |

| 30:18 |
I denouncedeclare untoto you this day that yeyou shall surely perish; yeyou shall not prolonglive yourlong days in the land whitherwhich thouyou passestare going over the Jordan to goenter inand to possess it |
| 30:19 |
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day that I have set before theeyou life and death the blessing and the curse:; therefore choose life that thouyou mayestand liveyour thoudescendants andmay thylive seed; |
| 30:20 |
toloving lovethe JehovahLord thyyour God toobeying obey his voice and cleaving to cleave unto him; for hethat ismeans thy life to you and the length of thy days; that thouyou mayestmay dwell in the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore thyto your fathers to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob to give them |
| 31:1 |
AndSo Moses wentcontinued andto spakespeak these words untoto all Israel |
| 31:2 |
And he said untoto them I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I canam no morelonger able to go out and come in: andThe JehovahLord hathhas said untoto me ThouYou shaltshall not go over this Jordan |
| 31:3 |
JehovahThe thyLord your God hehimself will go over before theeyou; he will destroy these nations from before theeyou andso thouthat shaltyou shall dispossess them:; and Joshua hewill shall go over beforeat theeyour head as Jehovahthe hathLord has spoken |
| 31:4 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will do untoto them as he did to Sihon and to Og the kings of the Amorites and untoto their land; whomwhen he destroyed them |
| 31:5 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will delivergive them upover beforeto you and yeyou shall do untoto them according untoto all the commandment which I have commanded you |
| 31:6 |
Be strong and of good courage feardo not norfear or be affrightedin atdread of them: for Jehovahit thyis Godthe heLord ityour isGod thatwho dothgoes go with theeyou; he will not fail theeyou noror forsake thee you |
| 31:7 |
AndThen Moses calledsummoned unto Joshua and said untoto him in the sight of all Israel Be strong and of good courage:; for thouyou shaltshall go with this people into the land which Jehovahthe hathLord has sworn untoto their fathers to give them; and thouyou shaltshall causeput them toin inheritpossession of it |
| 31:8 |
AndIt Jehovahis hethe itLord iswho thatgoes doth go before theeyou; he will be with theeyou he will not fail theeyou neitheror forsake thee:you; feardo not neitherfear or be dismayed |
| 31:9 |
And Moses wrote this law and deliveredgave it untoto the priests the sons of Levi thatwho barecarried the ark of the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord and untoto all the elders of Israel |

| 31:11 |
when all Israel iscomes come to appear before Jehovahthe thyLord your God inat the place which he shallwill choose thouyou shaltshall read this law before all Israel in their hearing |
| 31:12 |
Assemble the people the men and the women and the little ones and thythe sojourner that is within thyyour gatestowns that they may hear and that they may learn andto fear Jehovahthe Lord your God and observebe careful to do all the words of this law; |
| 31:13 |
and that their children who have not known it may hear and learn to fear Jehovahthe Lord your God as long as yeyou live in the land whitherwhich yeyou goare going over the Jordan to possess it |

| 31:15 |
And Jehovahthe Lord appeared in the Tenttent in a pillar of cloud:; and the pillar of cloud stood overby the door of the Tent tent |
| 31:16 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses Behold thouyou shaltare about to sleep with thyyour fathers; andthen this people will rise up and play the harlot after the strange gods of the land whitherwhere they go to be among them and they will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them |
| 31:17 |
Then my anger shallwill be kindled against them in that day and I will forsake them and I will hide my face from them and they shallwill be devoured; and many evils and troubles shallwill come upon them; so that they will say in that day AreHave not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us |
| 31:18 |
And I will surely hide my face in that day foron account of all the evil which they shall have wroughtdone inbecause that they arehave turned untoto other gods |
| 31:19 |
Now therefore write ye this song for you and teach thou it to the childrenpeople of Israel:; put it in their mouths that this song may be a witness for me against the childrenpeople of Israel |
| 31:20 |
For when I shall have brought them into the land whichflowing Iwith swaremilk untoand theirhoney fatherswhich flowingI withswore milkto andgive honeyto their fathers and they shall have eaten and filledare themselvesfull and waxedgrown fat; thenthey will they turn untoto other gods and serve them and despise me and break my covenant |
| 31:21 |
And it shall come to pass when many evils and troubles arehave come upon them that this song shall testifyconfront before them as a witness; for it shallwill notlive beunforgotten forgottenin out of the mouths of their seed:descendants; for I know theirthe imaginationpurposes which they frameare thisalready dayforming before I have brought them into the land whichthat I swareswore to give |
| 31:22 |
So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the childrenpeople of Israel |
| 31:23 |
And hethe gaveLord commissioned Joshua the son of Nun a charge and said Be strong and of good courage; for thouyou shaltshall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swareswore untoto give them: and I will be with theeyou |
