| 1:13 |
And I think it right as long as I am in this tabernaclebody to stirarouse you up by puttingway youof inreminder remembrance; |
| 1:14 |

| 1:15 |
YeaAnd I will givesee diligenceto it that atafter everymy timedeparture yeyou may be able afterat myany deceasetime to callrecall these things to remembrance |
| 1:16 |
For we did not follow cunninglycleverly devised fablesmyths when we made known untoto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty |
| 1:17 |
For when he received honor and glory from God the Father honor and glorythe whenvoice there was borne such a voice to him by the Majestic Glory This is my beloved Son inwith whom I am well pleased: |
| 1:18 |
andwe heard this voice we ourselves heard borne outfrom of heaven whenfor we were with him inon the holy mountmountain |
| 1:19 |
And we have the prophetic word of prophecy made more sure; whereuntoYou yewill do well thatto yepay takeattention heedto this as untoto a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawndawns and the daymorning star ariserises in your hearts: |
| 1:20 |
knowingFirst of all you must understand this first that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of privateones own interpretation |
| 1:21 |
Forbecause no prophecy ever came by the willimpulse of man: but men spake from God being moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God |
| 2:1 |
But there arose false prophets also arose among the people just as among you also there shallwill be false teachers among you who shallwill privilysecretly bring in destructive heresies even denying even the Master thatwho bought them bringing upon themselves swift destruction |
| 2:2 |
And many shallwill follow their lasciviouslicentiousness doings;and bybecause reason of whomthem the way of the truth shallwill be evilreviled spoken of |
| 2:3 |
And in covetousnesstheir shallgreed they withwill feignedexploit words make merchandise of you: whosewith sentencefalse nowwords; from of old lingereththeir condemnation has not been idle and their destruction slumberethhas not been asleep |
| 2:4 |
For if God spareddid not spare the angels when they sinned but cast them downinto to hell and committed them to pits of darknessnether gloom to be reservedkept untountil the judgment; |
| 2:5 |
andif sparedhe did not spare the ancient world but preserved Noah with seven others a preacherherald of righteousness with seven other persons when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; |
| 2:6 |
andif by turning the cities of Sodom and GomorrahGomor′rah intoto ashes he condemned them withto anextinction overthrowand having made them an example untoto those thatwho shouldwere liveto be ungodly; |
| 2:7 |
and deliveredif he rescued righteous Lot soregreatly distressed by the lasciviouslicentiousness life of the wicked |
| 2:8 |
for by what that righteous man dwellingsaw and heard as he lived among them inhe seeingwas andvexed hearingin vexed his righteous soul from day toafter day with their lawless deeds: |
| 2:9 |
then the Lord knowethknows how to deliverrescue the godly outfrom oftrial temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment untountil the day of judgment; |
| 2:10 |
butand chieflyespecially themthose thatwho walkindulge after the flesh in the lust of defilementdefiling passion and despise dominionauthority DaringBold selfand willedwilful they trembleare not afraid to railrevile atthe dignities:glorious ones |
| 2:11 |
whereas angels though greater in might and power bringdo not pronounce a railingreviling judgment againstupon them before the Lord |
| 2:12 |
But these aslike irrational animals creatures withoutof reasoninstinct born mere animals to be takencaught and destroyedkilled railingreviling in matters whereofof which they are ignorant shallwill be destroyed in theirthe destroyingsame surelydestruction bewith destroyedthem |
| 2:13 |

| 2:16 |
but he was rebuked for his own transgression:; a dumb ass spakespoke with manshuman voice and stayedrestrained the prophets madness of the prophet |
| 2:17 |
These are waterless springs without water and mists driven by a storm; for whomthem the blacknessnether gloom of darkness hathhas been reserved |
| 2:18 |
For uttering greatloud swellingboasts words of vanityfolly they entice inwith thelicentious lustspassions of the flesh bymen lasciviousness those who arehave justbarely escapingescaped from themthose thatwho live in error; |
| 2:19 |
promisingThey promise them libertyfreedom whilebut they themselves are bondservantsslaves of corruption; for ofwhatever whomovercomes a man isto overcomethat ofhe the same is heenslaved also brought into bondage |
| 2:20 |
For if after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of theour Lord and SaviourSavior Jesus Christ they are again entangled thereinin them and overcomeoverpowered the last state ishas become worse withfor them than the first |
| 2:21 |
For it werewould have been better for them notnever to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered untoto them |
| 2:22 |
It has happened untoto them according to the true proverb The dog turningturns back to his own vomit again and the sow thatis had washed only to wallowingwallow in the mire |
| 3:1 |
This is now beloved the second epistleletter that I writehave untowritten to you; beloved and in both of them I stirhave uparoused your sincere mind by puttingway youof in remembrancereminder; |
| 3:2 |
that yeyou should remember the wordspredictions whichof were spoken before by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and SaviourSavior through your apostles: |
| 3:3 |
knowingFirst of all you must understand this first that scoffers will come in the last days mockers shall come with mockeryscoffing walkingfollowing after their own lustspassions |
| 3:4 |
and saying Where is the promise of his coming forFor fromever thesince day that the fathers fell asleep all things continuehave continued as they were from the beginning of the creation |
| 3:5 |
ForThey thisdeliberately theyignore wilfullythis forgetfact that thereby werethe word of God heavens fromexisted oflong oldago and an earth compactedformed out of water and amidst water by themeans word of God;water |
| 3:6 |
bythrough which means the world that then existed was beingdeluged overflowed with water and perished: |
| 3:7 |
butBut by the heavenssame thatword nowthe areheavens and the earth bythat thenow sameexist word have been stored up for fire being reservedkept againstuntil the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men |
| 3:8 |
But forgetdo not ignore this one thingfact beloved that with the Lord one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day |
| 3:9 |
The Lord is not slackslow concerningabout his promise as some count slackness;slowness but is longsufferingforbearing totoward you ward not wishing that any should perish but that all should comereach to repentance |
| 3:10 |
But the day of the Lord will come aslike a thief; inand thethen which the heavens shallwill pass away with a greatloud noise and the elements shallwill be dissolved with ferventfire heat and the earth and the works that are thereinupon shallit will be burned up |
| 3:11 |
SeeingSince thatall these things are thus all to be dissolved what mannersort of persons ought yeyou to be in alllives holyof livingholiness and godliness |
| 3:12 |
lookingwaiting for and earnestlyhastening desiring the coming of the day of God bybecause reason of which the heavens beingwill onbe firekindled shalland be dissolved and the elements shallwill melt with ferventfire heat |
| 3:13 |
But according to his promise we lookwait for new heavens and a new earth whereinin dwellethwhich righteousness dwells |
| 3:14 |
WhereforeTherefore beloved seeingsince thatyou yewait look for these thingsbe givezealous diligenceto that ye may be found inby peacehim without spot andor blamelessblemish inand hisat sightpeace |
| 3:15 |
And accountcount that the longsufferingforbearance of our Lord isas salvation; evenSo asalso our beloved brother Paul alsowrote to you according to the wisdom given to him wrote unto you; |
| 3:16 |
asspeaking alsoof inthis allas hishe epistlesdoes speaking in themall ofhis theseletters things; There wherein are some things in them hard to beunderstand understood which the ignorant and unstedfastunstable wresttwist to their own destruction as they do also the other scriptures unto their own destruction |
| 3:17 |
YeYou therefore beloved knowing thesethis things beforehand beware lest beingyou be carried away with the error of thelawless wickedmen yeand falllose from your own stedfastnessstability |
| 3:18 |
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and SaviourSavior Jesus Christ To him be the glory both now and forto everthe day of eternity Amen |
