6:11 And the heartmind of the king of Syria was soregreatly troubled forbecause of this thing; and he called his servants and said untoto them Will yeyou not show me whichwho of us is for the king of Israel
6:12 And one of his servants said NayNone my lord O king; but ElishaEli′sha the prophet thatwho is in Israel tellethtells the king of Israel the words that thouyou speakestspeak in thyyour bedchamber
6:13 And he said Go and see where he is that I may send and fetchseize him AndIt it was told him saying Behold he is in Dothan
6:14 ThereforeSo he sent hethere thither horses and chariots and a great host:army; and they came by night and compassedsurrounded the city about
6:15 AndWhen when the servant of the man of God wasrose risen early in the morning and gonewent forthout behold aan hostarmy with horses and chariots was round about the city And histhe servant said unto him Alas my master howWhat shall we do
6:16 AndHe hesaid answered Fear not; for theythose thatwho are with us are more than theythose thatwho are with them
6:17 AndThen ElishaEli′sha prayed and said JehovahO Lord I pray thee open his eyes that he may see AndSo Jehovahthe Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw:; and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about ElishaEli′sha
6:18 And when theythe Syrians came down toagainst him ElishaEli′sha prayed untoto Jehovahthe Lord and said SmiteStrike this people I pray thee with blindness AndSo he smotestruck them with blindness accordingin toaccordance with the wordprayer of ElishaEli′sha
6:19 And ElishaEli′sha said untoto them This is not the way neitherand this is thisnot the city:; follow me and I will bring you to the man whom yeyou seek And he led them to SamariaSamar′ia
6:20 AndAs itsoon cameas to pass when they wereentered comeSamar′ia intoEli′sha Samariasaid thatO ElishaLord said Jehovah open the eyes of these men that they may see AndSo Jehovahthe Lord opened their eyes and they saw; and beholdlo they were in the midst of SamariaSamar′ia
6:21 AndWhen the king of Israel saidsaw untothem Elishahe whensaid heto sawEli′sha them My father shall I smiteslay them shallShall I smiteslay them
6:22 AndHe he answered ThouYou shaltshall not smiteslay them: wouldestWould thouyou smiteslay those whom thouyou hasthave taken captive with thyyour sword and with thyyour bow setSet bread and water before them that they may eat and drink and go to their master
6:23 AndSo he prepared greatfor provisionthem fora themgreat feast; and when they had eaten and drunk he sent them away and they went to their master And the bandsSyrians of Syria came no more on raids into the land of Israel
6:24 AndAfterward it came to pass after this that Ben hadadha′dad king of Syria gatheredmustered all his hostentire army and went up and besieged SamariaSamar′ia
6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria:Samar′ia andas behold they besieged it until an asss head was sold for fourscoreeighty piecesshekels of silver and the fourth part of a kab of doves dung for five piecesshekels of silver
6:26 AndNow as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall therea woman cried aout womanto unto him saying Help my lord O king
6:27 And he said If Jehovahthe doLord will not help theeyou whence shall I help theeyou outFrom of the threshing floor or outfrom of the winepresswine press
6:28 And the king saidasked unto her What ailethis theeyour Andtrouble sheShe answered This woman said untoto me Give thyyour son that we may eat him totoday day and we will eat my son totomorrow morrow
6:29 So we boiled my son and didate eat him: andAnd I said unto her on the next day I said to her Give thyyour son that we may eat him; andbut she hathhas hidhidden her son
6:30 AndWhen it came to pass when the king heard the words of the woman that he rent his clothes —now he was passing by upon the wall; —and the people looked and behold he had sackcloth withinbeneath upon his fleshbody—
6:31 Thenand he said May God do so to me and more also if the head of ElishaEli′sha the son of Shaphat shallremains stand on himhis thisshoulders daytoday
6:32 ButEli′sha Elisha was sitting in his house and the elders were sitting with him; andNow the king senthad dispatched a man from beforehis him:presence; but erebefore the messenger camearrived toEli′sha him he said to the elders SeeDo yeyou see how this son of a murderer hathhas sent to take awayoff my head lookLook when the messenger comethcomes shut the door and hold the door fast against him: isIs not the sound of his masters feet behind him
6:33 And while he was yetstill talkingspeaking with them behold the messengerking came down untoto him: and he said BeholdThis thistrouble evil is offrom Jehovah;the whyLord Why should I wait for Jehovahthe Lord any longer
7:1 AndBut ElishaEli′sha said Hear ye the word of Jehovahthe Lord: thus saithsays Jehovahthe ToLord morrowTomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flourmeal shall be sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel inat the gate of SamariaSamar′ia
7:2 Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answeredsaid to the man of God andIf saidthe BeholdLord ifhimself Jehovah should make windows in heaven mightcould this thing be AndBut he said BeholdYou thoushall shalt see it with thineyour own eyes but shaltyou shall not eat thereofof it
7:3 Now there were four leprous men who were lepers at the entrance ofto the gate:; and they said to one to another Why sitdo we sit here untiltill we die
7:4 If we say WeLet willus enter into the city then the famine is in the city and we shall die there; and if we sit still here we die also NowSo thereforenow come and let us fallgo untoover to the hostcamp of the Syrians:; if they savespare usour alivelives we shall live; and if they kill us we shall but die
7:5 AndSo they rosearose upat in the twilight to go untoto the camp of the Syrians; andbut when they werecame come to the outermostedge part of the camp of the Syrians behold there was no manone there
7:6 For the Lord had made the hostarmy of the Syrians to hear athe noisesound of chariots and a noise of horses even the noisesound of a great host:army andso that they said to one to another LoBehold the king of Israel hathhas hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of theEgypt Egyptians to come upon us
7:7 WhereforeSo they arosefled andaway fled in the twilight and leftforsook their tents and their horses and their asses evenleaving the camp as it was and fled for their lifelives
7:8 And when these lepers came to the outermostedge part of the camp they went into onea tent and didate eat and drinkdrank and they carried thenceoff silver and gold and raimentclothing and went and hid itthem; andthen they came back and entered into another tent and carried thenceoff alsothings from it and went and hid itthem
7:9 Then they said to one to another We doare not well;doing thisright This day is a day of good tidingsnews; andif we holdare oursilent peace:and ifwait weuntil tarry till the morning light punishment will overtake us; now therefore come let us go and tell the kings household
7:10 So they came and called untoto the portergatekeepers of the city; and they told them saying We came to the camp of the Syrians and behold there was no manone thereto neitherbe voiceseen ofor manheard there nothing but the horses tied and the asses tied and the tents as they were
7:11 AndThen hethe gatekeepers called theout porters; and theyit was told itwithin to the kings household within
7:12 And the king aroserose in the night and said untoto his servants I will nowtell show you what the Syrians have doneprepared toagainst us They know that we are hungry; therefore are they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the fieldopen sayingcountry thinking When they come out of the city we shall take them alive and get into the city
7:13 And one of his servants answered and said Let some men take I pray thee five of the remaining horses seeing that remainthose whichwho are left inhere thewill cityfare beholdlike theythe arewhole as all the multitude of Israel that arehave leftalready in itperished; behold they are as all the multitude of Israel that are consumed; and let us send and see
7:14 TheySo they took therefore two chariotsmounted withmen horses; and the king sent them after the hostarmy of the Syrians saying Go and see
7:15 AndSo they went after them untoas far as the Jordan:; and lo all the way was fulllittered ofwith garments and vesselsequipment which the Syrians had castthrown away in their haste And the messengers returned and told the king
7:16 AndThen the people went out and plundered the camp of the Syrians So a measure of fine flourmeal was sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel according to the word of Jehovahthe Lord
7:17 AndNow the king had appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate:; and the people trod upon him in the gate andso that he died as the man of God had said who spake when the king came down to him
7:18 AndFor itwhen came to pass as the man of God had spokensaid to the king saying Two measures of barley shall be sold for a shekel and a measure of fine flourmeal for a shekel shall be to morrow about this time tomorrow in the gate of Samaria;Samar′ia
7:19 andthe that captain had answered the man of God andIf saidthe NowLord beholdhimself if Jehovah should make windows in heaven mightcould such a thing be andAnd he had said BeholdYou thoushall shalt see it with thineyour own eyes but shaltyou shall not eat thereof:of it
7:20 And so it camehappened to pass even so unto him; for the people trod upon him in the gate and he died
8:1 Now ElishaEli′sha had spokensaid untoto the woman whose son he had restored to life saying Arise and godepart thouwith andyour thy household and sojourn wheresoeverwherever thouyou canstcan; sojourn: for Jehovahthe hathLord has called for a famine; and it shallwill also come upon the land for seven years
8:2 AndSo the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God; and she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years
8:3 And itat camethe toend passof at the seven years endwhen that the woman returned outfrom of the land of the Philistines: and she went forth to cryappeal untoto the king for her house and for her land
8:4 Now the king was talking with GehaziGeha′zi the servant of the man of God saying Tell me I pray thee all the great things that ElishaEli′sha hathhas done
8:5 And itwhile came to pass as he was telling the king how heEli′sha had restored the dead to life him that was dead that behold the woman whose son he had restored to life criedappealed to the king for her house and for her land And GehaziGeha′zi said My lord O king thishere is the woman and thishere is her son whom ElishaEli′sha restored to life
8:6 And when the king asked the woman she told him So the king appointed untoan herofficial afor certainher officer saying Restore all that was hers andtogether with all the fruitsproduce of the fieldfields sincefrom the day that she left the land even until now
8:7 AndNow ElishaEli′sha came to Damascus; and Ben hadadha′dad the king of Syria was sick; and when it was told him saying The man of God ishas come hitherhere
8:8 And the king said untoto HazaelHaz′ael Take a present inwith thyyou hand and go to meet the man of God and inquire of Jehovahthe byLord through him saying Shall I recover offrom this sickness
8:9 So HazaelHaz′ael went to meet him and took a present with him evenall kinds of everygoods good thing of Damascus forty camelscamel burdenloads andWhen he came and stood before him andhe said ThyYour son Ben hadadha′dad king of Syria hathhas sent me to theeyou saying Shall I recover offrom this sickness
8:10 And ElishaEli′sha said untoto him Go say untoto him ThouYou shaltshall surelycertainly recover; howbeitbut Jehovahthe hathLord showedhas shown me that he shall surelycertainly die
8:11 And he settledfixed his countenancegaze stedfastlyand uponstared at him until he was ashamed: andAnd the man of God wept
8:12 And HazaelHaz′ael said Why weepethdoes my lord Andweep heHe answered Because I know the evil that thouyou wiltwill do untoto the childrenpeople of Israel:; theiryou strongholdswill wilt thou set on fire their fortresses and you will slay their young men wilt thou slay with the sword and wilt dash in pieces their little ones and rip up their women with child
8:13 And HazaelHaz′ael said ButWhat what is thyyour servant who is but a dog that he should do this great thing AndEli′sha Elisha answered JehovahThe hathLord showedhas shown me that thouyou shaltare to be king over Syria
8:14 Then he departed from ElishaEli′sha and came to his master; who said to him What saiddid ElishaEli′sha say to theeyou And he answered He told me that thouyou wouldestwould surelycertainly recover
8:15 AndBut it came to pass on the morrow that he took the coverlet and dipped it in water and spread it onover his face sotill that he died: andAnd HazaelHaz′ael reignedbecame king in his stead
8:16 AndIn in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel JehoshaphatJeho′ram being then king of Judah Jehoram the son of JehoshaphatJehosh′aphat king of Judah began to reign
8:17 ThirtyHe andwas thirty two years old was he when he beganbecame toking reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem
8:18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel as did the house of Ahab: forhad hedone hadfor the daughter of Ahab towas his wife; andAnd he did thatwhat which was evil in the sight of Jehovahthe Lord
8:19 HowbeitYet Jehovahthe Lord would not destroy Judah for the sake of David his servantsservant sakesince as he promised him to give untoa lamp to him aand lampto for his childrensons alwayfor ever
8:20 In his days Edom revolted from under the handrule of Judah and madeset up a king overof themselvestheir own
8:21 Then Joram passed over to ZairZa′ir andwith all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night and smotehe theand Edomiteshis thatchariot compassedcommanders himsmote aboutthe andE′domites thewho captainshad ofsurrounded the chariotshim; andbut thehis peoplearmy fled tohome their tents
8:22 So Edom revolted from under the handrule of Judah untoto this day Then did Libnah revoltrevolted at the same time
8:23 AndNow the rest of the acts of Joram and all that he did are they not written in the bookBook of the chroniclesChronicles of the kingsKings of Judah
8:24 AndSo Joram slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and AhaziahAhazi′ah his son reigned in his stead
8:25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel didAhazi′ah Ahaziah the son of JehoramJeho′ram king of Judah beginbegan to reign
8:26 TwoAhazi′ah andwas twenty two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem AndHis his mothers name was AthaliahAthali′ah; theshe daughterwas a granddaughter of Omri king of Israel
8:27 AndHe healso walked in the way of the house of Ahab and did thatwhat which was evil in the sight of Jehovahthe Lord as did the house of Ahab; had done for he was the son in law ofto the house of Ahab
8:28 AndHe he went with Joram the son of Ahab to make war against HazaelHaz′ael king of Syria at Ramoth gilead: andwhere the Syrians wounded Joram
8:29 And kingKing Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah when he fought against HazaelHaz′ael king of Syria And AhaziahAhazi′ah the son of JehoramJeho′ram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel because he was sick
9:1 AndThen ElishaEli′sha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said untoto him Gird up thyyour loins and take this vialflask of oil in thyyour hand and go to Ramoth gilead
9:2 And when thouyou comestarrive thither look out there for Jehu the son of JehoshaphatJehosh′aphat the son of Nimshi; and go in and makebid him ariserise up from among his brethrenfellows and carrylead him to an inner chamber
9:3 Then take the vialflask of oil and pour it on his head and say Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord I haveanoint anointedyou thee king over Israel Then open the door and flee; anddo tarry not tarry
9:4 So the young man even the young man the prophet went to Ramoth gilead
9:5 And when he came behold the captainscommanders of the hostarmy were sittingin council; and he said I have an errand to theeyou O captaincommander And Jehu said UntoTo which of us all And he said To theeyou O captaincommander
9:6 AndSo he arose and went into the house; and hethe young man poured the oil on his head andsaying saidto unto him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord the God of Israel I haveanoint anointedyou thee king over the people of Jehovahthe evenLord over Israel
9:7 And thouyou shaltshall smitestrike down the house of Ahab thyyour master that I may avenge on Jez′ebel the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah at the handLord of Jezebel
9:8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish; and I will cut off from Ahab every manmale childbond andor himfree that is shut up and him that is left at large in Israel
9:9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of JeroboamJerobo′am the son of Nebat and like the house of BaashaBa′asha the son of AhijahAhi′jah
9:10 And the dogs shall eat JezebelJez′ebel in the portionterritory of Jezreel and therenone shall be none to bury her AndThen he opened the door and fled
9:11 ThenWhen Jehu came forthout to the servants of his lord:master andthey one said untoto him Is all well whereforeWhy camedid this mad fellow come to theeyou And he said untoto them YeYou know the manfellow and what his talk was
9:12 And they said ItThat is falsenot true; tell us now And he said Thus and thusso spake he spoke to me saying Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord I haveanoint anointedyou thee king over Israel
9:13 Then theyin hastedhaste and took every man of them took his garment and put it under him on the topbare ofsteps theand stairsthey and blew the trumpet sayingand proclaimed Jehu is king
9:14 SoThus Jehu the son of JehoshaphatJehosh′aphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram Now Joram waswith keepingall RamothIsrael gileadhad hebeen andon allguard Israelat becauseRamoth ofgilead Hazaelagainst Haz′ael king of Syria;
9:15 but kingKing Joram washad returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him when he fought with HazaelHaz′ael king of Syria AndSo Jehu said If this beis your mind then let noneno escapeone andslip go forth out of the city to go toand tell itthe news in Jezreel
9:16 SoThen Jehu rodemounted inhis a chariot and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there And AhaziahAhazi′ah king of Judah washad come down to seevisit Joram
9:18 So therea wentman one on horseback went to meet him and said Thus saithsays the king Is it peace And Jehu said What hasthave thouyou to do with peace turnTurn theeround and ride behind me And the watchman toldreported saying The messenger camereached to them but he comethis not coming back
9:19 Then he sent out a second onhorseman horseback who came to them and said Thus saith the king has said Is it peace And Jehu answered What hasthave thouyou to do with peace turnTurn theeround and ride behind me
9:20 AndAgain the watchman toldreported saying He camereached eventhem untobut themhe andis cometh not coming back: andAnd the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drivethdrives furiously
9:21 And Joram said Make ready And they made ready his chariot AndThen Joram king of Israel and AhaziahAhazi′ah king of Judah wentset out each in his chariot and they went out to meet Jehu and foundmet him inat the portionproperty of Naboth the Jezreelite
9:22 And it came to pass when Joram saw Jehu that he said Is it peace Jehu AndHe he answered What peace can there be so long as the whoredomsharlotries ofand thythe mothersorceries Jezebelof andyour hermother witchcraftsJez′ebel are so many
9:23 AndThen Joram turnedreined hisabout hands and fled andsaying said to AhaziahAhazi′ah ThereTreachery is treachery O AhaziahAhazi′ah
9:24 And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength and smoteshot Joram between histhe arms;shoulders andso that the arrow wentpierced out at his heart and he sunksank down in his chariot
9:25 ThenJehu said Jehu to Bidkar his captainaide Take him up and cast him inon the portionplot of theground fieldbelonging ofto Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how that when Iyou and thouI rode togetherside afterby side behind Ahab his father Jehovahhow laidthe Lord uttered this burdenoracle uponagainst him:
9:26 SurelyAs surely as I havesaw seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons—says saiththe Jehovah; and Lord—I will requite theeyou inon this platplot saithof Jehovahground Now therefore take him up and cast him intoon the platplot of ground accordingin toaccordance with the word of Jehovahthe Lord
9:27 ButWhen whenAhazi′ah Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this he fled byin the waydirection of theBeth gardenhaggan house And Jehu followedpursued after him and said SmiteShoot him also; in the chariot: and they smoteshot him in the chariot at the ascent of Gur which is by Ibleam And he fled to MegiddoMegid′do and died there
9:28 AndHis his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his sepulchretomb with his fathers in the city of David
9:29 AndIn in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab Ahazi′ah began Ahaziah to reign over Judah
9:30 AndWhen when Jehu wascame come to Jezreel JezebelJez′ebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes and attiredadorned her head and looked out atof the window
9:31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate she said Is it peace thouyou Zimri thymurderer mastersof murdereryour master
9:32 And he lifted up his face to the window and said Who is on my side whoWho AndTwo thereor three eunuchs looked out toat him two or three eunuchs
9:33 AndHe he said Throw her down So they threw her down; and some of her blood wasspattered sprinkled on the wall and on the horses: and hethey trodtrampled on her under foot
9:34 AndThen when he waswent come in heand didate eat and drinkdrank; and he said See now to this cursed woman and bury her; for she is a kings daughter
9:35 AndBut when they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands
9:36 WhereforeWhen they came back and told him And he said This is the word of Jehovahthe Lord which he spakespoke by his servant ElijahEli′jah the Tishbite saying In the portionterritory of Jezreel shall the dogs shall eat the flesh of JezebelJez′ebel;
9:37 and the bodycorpse of JezebelJez′ebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portionterritory of Jezreel so that theyno shallone notcan say This is JezebelJez′ebel
10:1 Now Ahab had seventy sons in SamariaSamar′ia AndSo Jehu wrote letters and sent them to SamariaSamar′ia untoto the rulers of Jezreelthe evencity to the elders and untoto themthe thatguardians broughtof up the sons of Ahab saying
10:2 AndNow nowthen as soon as this letter comethcomes to you seeing your masters sons are with you and there are with you chariots and horses a fortified citycities also and armor;weapons
10:3 lookselect ye out the best and meetestfittest of your masters sons and set him on his fathers throne and fight for your masters house
10:4 But they were exceedingly afraid and said Behold the two kings stoodcould not stand before him:; how then shallcan we stand
10:5 AndSo he thatwho was over the householdpalace and he thatwho was over the city together with the elders also and they that brought up the childrenguardians sent to Jehu saying We are thyyour servants and we will do all that thouyou shalt bid us; weWe will not make any manone king:; do thouwhatever that which is good in thineyour eyes
10:6 Then he wrote ato letterthem thea second timeletter to them saying If yeyou beare on my side and if yeyou willare hearkenready untoto myobey voiceme take ye the heads of the men your masters sons and come to me toat Jezreel bytomorrow toat morrow this time Now the kings sons being seventy persons were with the great men of the city who broughtwere bringing them up
10:7 And it came to pass when the letter came to them that they took the kings sons and slew them even seventy persons and put their heads in baskets and sent them untoto him toat Jezreel
10:8 AndWhen therethe messenger came a messenger and told him saying They have brought the heads of the kings sons And he said Lay ye them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning
10:9 AndThen it came to pass in the morning thatwhen he went out andhe stood and said to all the people YeYou are righteous:innocent beholdIt was I who conspired against my master and slew him; but who smotestruck down all these
10:10 Know nowthen that there shall fall untoto the earth nothing of the word of Jehovahthe Lord which Jehovahthe spakeLord spoke concerning the house of Ahab:; for Jehovahthe hathLord has done thatwhat which he spakesaid by his servant ElijahEli′jah
10:11 So Jehu smoteslew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel and all his great men and his familiar friends and his priests until he left him none remaining
10:12 AndThen he aroseset andout departed and went to SamariaSamar′ia AndOn asthe way when he was at theBeth shearingeked house of the shepherdsShepherds in the way
10:13 Jehu met with the brethrenkinsmen of AhaziahAhazi′ah king of Judah and he said Who are yeyou And they answered We are the brethrenkinsmen of Ahaziah:Ahazi′ah and we gocame down to salutevisit the childrenroyal ofprinces the king and the childrensons of the queen mother
10:14 AndHe he said Take them alive And they took them alive and slew them at the pit of theBeth shearingeked houseforty even two persons and fortyhe men;spared neithernone left he any of them
10:15 And when he was departed thencefrom there he lightedmet onJehon′adab Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he salutedgreeted him and said to him Is thyyour heart righttrue asto my heart as mine is withto thyyours heart And JehonadabJehon′adab answered It is Jehu said If it beis give me thyyour hand AndSo he gave him his hand; andAnd heJehu took him up towith him into the chariot
10:16 And he said Come with me and see my zeal for Jehovahthe Lord So theyhe madehad him ride in his chariot
10:17 And when he came to SamariaSamar′ia he smoteslew all that remained untoto Ahab in SamariaSamar′ia till he had destroyedwiped himthem out according to the word of Jehovahthe Lord which he spakespoke to ElijahEli′jah
10:18 AndThen Jehu gatheredassembled all the people together and said untoto them Ahab served BaalBa′al a little; but Jehu will serve him much
10:19 Now therefore call untoto me all the prophets of BaalBa′al all his worshippersworshipers and all his priests; let none be wanting:missing for I have a great sacrifice to dooffer to BaalBa′al; whosoeverwhoever shallis bemissing wanting he shall not live But Jehu did it with cunning in subtletyorder to the intent that he might destroy the worshippersworshipers of BaalBa′al
10:20 And Jehu saidordered Sanctify a solemn assembly for BaalBa′al AndSo they proclaimed it
10:21 And Jehu sent throughthroughout all Israel:; and all the worshippersworshipers of BaalBa′al came so that there was not a man left thatwho camedid not come And they cameentered into the house of Baal;Ba′al and the house of BaalBa′al was filled from one end to anotherthe other
10:22 AndHe he said untoto him thatwho was overin charge of the vestrywardrobe Bring forthout the vestments for all the worshippersworshipers of BaalBa′al AndSo he brought themout forththe vestments for them
10:23 AndThen Jehu went andinto Jehonadab the sonhouse of RechabBa′al intowith Jehon′adab the houseson of BaalRechab; and he said untoto the worshippersworshipers of BaalBa′al Search and looksee that there beis hereno withservant you none of the servantsLord ofhere Jehovahamong you but only the worshippersworshipers of BaalBa′al only
10:24 AndThen theyhe went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings Now Jehu had appointedstationed himeighty fourscore men withoutoutside and said IfThe man who allows any of thethose men whom I bringgive into your hands to escape heshall thatforfeit letteth him go his life shall be for the life of him
10:25 AndSo it came to pass as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering that Jehu said to the guard and to the captainsofficers Go in and slay them; let nonenot comea forthman Andescape So when they smoteput them withto the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captainsofficers cast them out and went tointo the cityinner room of the house of BaalBa′al
10:26 Andand they brought forthout the pillarspillar that werewas in the house of BaalBa′al and burned themit
10:27 And they brakedemolished down the pillar of BaalBa′al and brakedemolished down the house of BaalBa′al and made it a draughtlatrine houseto unto this day
10:28 Thus Jehu destroyedwiped Baal out ofBa′al from Israel
10:29 HowbeitBut Jehu did not turn aside from the sins of JeroboamJerobo′am the son of Nebat wherewithwhich he made Israel to sin Jehu departed not from after them to wit the golden calves that were in BethBethel el and that were in Dan
10:30 And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Jehu Because thouyou hasthave done well in executingcarrying thatout whichwhat is right in minemy eyes and hasthave done untoto the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart thyyour sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel
10:31 But Jehu tookwas nonot heedcareful to walk in the law of Jehovahthe Lord the God of Israel with all his heart:; he departeddid not turn from the sins of JeroboamJerobo′am wherewithwhich he made Israel to sin
10:32 In those days Jehovahthe Lord began to cut off fromparts of Israel: andHaz′ael Hazaeldefeated smote them inthroughout all the bordersterritory of Israel;:

16:11 And UrijahUri′ah the priest built anthe altar:; accordingin toaccordance with all that kingKing Ahaz had sent from Damascus so didUri′ah Urijah the priest makemade it againstbefore theKing comingAhaz ofarrived king Ahaz from Damascus
16:12 And when the king wascame come from Damascus the king sawviewed the altar: andThen the king drew near untoto the altar and offeredwent thereonup on it
16:13 Andand heburned burnt his burnt offering and his mealcereal offering and poured his drink offering and sprinkledthrew the blood of his peace offerings upon the altar
16:14 And the brazenbronze altar which was before Jehovahthe Lord he broughtremoved from the forefrontfront of the house from the place between his altar and the house of Jehovahthe Lord and put it on the north side of his altar
16:15 And kingKing Ahaz commanded UrijahUri′ah the priest saying Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening mealcereal offering and the kings burnt offering and his mealcereal offering with the burnt offering of all the people of the land and their mealcereal offering and their drink offeringsoffering; and sprinklethrow upon it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice:; but the brazenbronze altar shall be for me to inquire by
16:16 ThusUri′ah did Urijah the priest accordingdid to all thatthis kingas King Ahaz commanded
16:17 And kingKing Ahaz cut off the panelsframes of the basesstands and removed the laver from off them and he took down the sea from off the brazenbronze oxen that were under it and put it upon a pavementpediment of stone
16:18 And the covered way for the sabbath thatwhich they had been built ininside the housepalace and the kingsouter entryentrance withoutfor turnedthe king he untoremoved from the house of Jehovahthe Lord because of the king of Assyria
16:19 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did are they not written in the bookBook of the chroniclesChronicles of the kingsKings of Judah
16:20 And Ahaz slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David:; and HezekiahHezeki′ah his son reigned in his stead
17:1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah beganHoshe′a Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign in SamariaSamar′ia over Israel and he reigned nine years
17:2 And he did thatwhat which was evil in the sight of Jehovahthe Lord yet not as the kings of Israel thatwho were before him
17:3 Against him came up ShalmaneserShalmane′ser king of Assyria; and HosheaHoshe′a became his servantvassal and broughtpaid him tribute
17:4 AndBut the king of Assyria found conspiracytreachery in HosheaHoshe′a; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria as he had done year by year:; therefore the king of Assyria shut him up and bound him in prison
17:5 Then the king of Assyria cameinvaded up throughout all the land and wentcame up to SamariaSamar′ia and besiegedfor it three years he besieged it
17:6 In the ninth year of HosheaHoshe′a the king of Assyria tookcaptured SamariaSamar′ia and he carried Israelthe Israelites away untoto Assyria and placed them in Halah and on the Habor the river of Gozan and in the cities of the Medes
17:7 And itthis was so because the childrenpeople of Israel had sinned against Jehovahthe Lord their God who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt and had feared other gods
17:8 and walked in the statutescustoms of the nations whom Jehovahthe castLord drove out from before the childrenpeople of Israel and ofin the customs which the kings of Israel whichhad theyintroduced made
17:9 And the childrenpeople of Israel did secretly against the Lord their God things that were not right againstThey Jehovahbuilt theirfor God:themselves and they built them high places inat all their citiestowns from thewatchtower tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;
17:10 and they set them up for themselves pillars and AsherimAshe′rim uponon every high hill and under every green tree;
17:11 and there they burntburned incense inon all the high places as did the nations did whom Jehovahthe Lord carried away before them; andAnd they wroughtdid wicked things toprovoking provokethe JehovahLord to anger;
17:12 and they served idols whereofof Jehovahwhich the Lord had said untoto them YeYou shall not do this thing
17:13 Yet Jehovahthe testifiedLord untowarned Israel and unto Judah by every prophet and every seer saying Turn ye from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes accordingin toaccordance with all the law which I commanded your fathers and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets
17:14 NotwithstandingBut they would not hearlisten but hardenedwere theirstubborn neckas liketheir tofathers thehad neckbeen of their fathers who believeddid not believe in Jehovahthe Lord their God
17:15 AndThey theydespised rejected his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and histhe testimonieswarnings which he testifiedgave unto them; andThey theywent followedafter vanityfalse idols and became vainfalse and wentthey afterfollowed the nations that were round about them concerning whom Jehovahthe Lord had chargedcommanded them that they should not do like them
17:16 And they forsook all the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord their God and made themfor themselves molten images evenof two calves; and they made an AsherahAshe′rah and worshippedworshiped all the host of heaven and served BaalBa′al
17:17 And they causedburned their sons and their daughters toas passofferings through the fire and used divination and enchantmentssorcery and sold themselves to do that which was evil in the sight of Jehovahthe toLord provokeprovoking him to anger
17:18 Therefore Jehovahthe Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight:; therenone was none left but the tribe of Judah only
17:19 Also Judah keptalso did not keep the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord their God but walked in the statutescustoms ofwhich Israel whichhad theyintroduced made
17:20 And Jehovahthe Lord rejected all the seeddescendants of Israel and afflicted them and deliveredgave them into the hand of spoilers until he had cast them out of his sight
17:21 ForWhen he renthad torn Israel from the house of David; and they made JeroboamJerobo′am the son of Nebat king: andAnd JeroboamJerobo′am drove Israel from following Jehovahthe Lord and made them sincommit a great sin
17:22 AndThe thepeople children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which heJerobo′am did; they departeddid not depart from them;
17:23 until Jehovahthe Lord removed Israel out of his sight as he spakehad spoken by all his servants the prophets So Israel was carriedexiled awayfrom out of their own land to Assyria untountil this day
17:24 And the king of Assyria brought menpeople from Babylon and from Cuthah and from Avva and from Hamath and SepharvaimSepharva′im and placed them in the cities of SamariaSamar′ia instead of the childrenpeople of Israel; and they possessedtook Samariapossession of Samar′ia and dwelt in theits cities thereof
17:25 And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there that they feareddid not Jehovah:fear the Lord; therefore Jehovahthe Lord sent lions among them which killed some of them
17:26 WhereforeSo they spake to the king of Assyria sayingwas told The nations which thouyou hasthave carried away and placed in the cities of SamariaSamar′ia knowdo not know the law of the god of the land:; therefore he hathhas sent lions among them and behold they slayare killing them because they knowdo not know the law of the god of the land
17:27 Then the king of Assyria commanded sayingSend Carrythere thither one of the priests whom yeyou broughtcarried fromaway thence; and let themhim go and dwell there and let him teach them the law of the god of the land
17:28 So one of the priests whom they had carried away from SamariaSamar′ia came and dwelt in BethBethel el and taught them how they should fear Jehovahthe Lord
17:29 HowbeitBut every nation still made gods of theirits own and put them in the housesshrines of the high places which the Samaritans had made every nation in theirthe cities whereinin which they dwelt;
17:30 And the men of Babylon made SuccothSuc′coth benothbe′noth and the men of Cuth made Nergal and the men of Hamath made AshimaAshi′ma
17:31 and the AvvitesAv′vites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the SepharvitesSephar′vites burntburned their children in the fire to AdrammelechAdram′melech and AnammelechAnam′melech the gods of SepharvaimSepharva′im
17:32 SoThey theyalso feared Jehovahthe Lord and madeappointed unto them from among themselves all sorts of people as priests of the high places who sacrificed for them in the housesshrines of the high places
17:33 TheySo they feared Jehovahthe andLord but also served their own gods after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away
17:34 UntoTo this day they do afteraccording to the former manner: theyThey feardo not Jehovahfear neitherthe doLord and they afterdo theirnot follow the statutes or afterthe their ordinances or after the law or after the commandment which Jehovahthe Lord commanded the children of Jacob whom he named Israel;
17:35 withThe whomLord Jehovah had made a covenant with them and chargedcommanded them sayingYou Ye shall not fear other gods noror bow yourselves to them noror serve them noror sacrifice to them:;
17:36 but Jehovahyou shall fear the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm; himyou shall yebow fearyourselves andto unto him shall ye bow yourselves and to him you shall ye sacrifice:
17:37 andAnd the statutes and the ordinances and the law and the commandment which he wrote for you yeyou shall observealways be careful to do forYou evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods:
17:38 and you shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you yeYou shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods:
17:39 but Jehovahyou yourshall Godfear shallthe yeLord fear;your God and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies
17:40 HowbeitHowever they didwould not hearkenlisten but they did afteraccording to their former manner
17:41 So these nations feared Jehovahthe Lord and also served their graven images; their children likewise and their childrens children —as did their fathers did so they do theyto unto this day
18:1 NowIn it came to pass in the third year of HosheaHoshe′a son of Elah king of Israel thatHezeki′ah Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign
18:2 TwentyHe andwas twenty five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem: andHis his mothers name was Abi the daughter of ZechariahZechari′ah
18:3 And he did thatwhat which was right in the eyes of Jehovahthe Lord according to all that David his father had done
18:4 He removed the high places and brakebroke the pillars and cut down the Asherah:Ashe′rah andAnd he brakebroke in pieces the brazenbronze serpent that Moses had made; for untountil those days the childrenpeople of Israel didhad burnburned incense to it; andit hewas called itNehush′tan Nehushtan
18:5 He trusted in Jehovahthe Lord the God of Israel; so that afterthere him was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him nor among themthose thatwho were before him
18:6 For he claveheld fast to Jehovahthe Lord; he departeddid not depart from following him but kept histhe commandments which Jehovahthe Lord commanded Moses
18:7 And Jehovahthe Lord was with him; whithersoeverwherever he went forth he prospered: andHe he rebelled against the king of Assyria and servedwould not serve him not
18:8 He smote the Philistines untoas far as Gaza and theits bordersterritory thereof from thewatchtower tower of the watchmen to the fortified city
18:9 AndIn it came to pass in the fourth year of kingKing HezekiahHezeki′ah which was the seventh year of HosheaHoshe′a son of Elah king of Israel thatShalmane′ser Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against SamariaSamar′ia and besieged it
18:10 Andand at the end of three years theyhe took it: inIn the sixth year of HezekiahHezeki′ah which was the ninth year of HosheaHoshe′a king of Israel SamariaSamar′ia was taken
18:11 AndThe the king of Assyria carried Israelthe Israelites away untoto Assyria and put them in Halah and on the Habor the river of Gozan and in the cities of the Medes
18:12 because they obeyeddid not obey the voice of Jehovahthe Lord their God but transgressed his covenant even all that Moses the servant of Jehovahthe Lord commanded; andthey wouldneither notlistened hear it nor do itobeyed
18:13 NowIn in the fourteenth year of kingKing HezekiahHezeki′ah didSennach′erib Sennacherib king of Assyria comecame up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them
18:14 And HezekiahHezeki′ah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria toat Lachish saying I have offendeddone wrong; returnwithdraw from me:; thatwhatever whichyou thouimpose puttest on me I will I bear And the king of Assyria appointedrequired untoof HezekiahHezeki′ah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold
18:15 And HezekiahHezeki′ah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of Jehovahthe Lord and in the treasurestreasuries of the kings house
18:16 At that time didHezeki′ah Hezekiahstripped cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of Jehovahthe Lord and from the pillarsdoorposts which HezekiahHezeki′ah king of Judah had overlaid and gave it to the king of Assyria
18:17 And the king of Assyria sent the Tartan andthe Rab ′saris and Rabshakehthe fromRab′shakeh Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great army untofrom Lachish to King Hezeki′ah at Jerusalem And they went up and came to Jerusalem AndWhen when they werearrived come up they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool which is inon the highway ofto the fullersFullers fieldField
18:18 And when they had called tofor the king there came out to them EliakimEli′akim the son of HilkiahHilki′ah who was over the household and Shebnah the scribesecretary and JoahJo′ah the son of Asaph the recorder
18:19 And Rabshakehthe Rab′shakeh said untoto them Say ye now to HezekiahHezeki′ah Thus saithsays the great king the king of Assyria: WhatOn confidencewhat isdo you rest this whereinconfidence thouof trustestyours
18:20 ThouDo sayestyou butthink theythat aremere but vain words Thereare isstrategy counsel and strengthpower for the war NowOn on whom dostdo thouyou trustnow rely that thouyou hasthave rebelled against me
18:21 NowBehold beholdyou thouare trustestrelying uponnow theon staffEgypt ofthat thisbroken bruised reed evenof upona Egypt;staff whereonwhich ifwill apierce manthe leanhand itof willany goman intowho hisleans handon and pierce it: soSuch is Pharaoh king of Egypt untoto all thatwho trustrely on him
18:22 But if yeyou say untoto me We trustrely inon Jehovahthe Lord our God; is it not that he whose high places and whose altars HezekiahHezeki′ah hathhas takenremoved awaysaying and hath said to Judah and to Jerusalem YeYou shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem
18:23 NowCome thereforenow Imake praya theewager givewith pledges to my master the king of Assyria: and I will give theeyou two thousand horses if thouyou beare able on thyyour part to set riders upon them
18:24 How then canstcan thouyou turnrepulse awaya thesingle face of one captain ofamong the least of my masters servants andwhen putyou thyrely trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen
18:25 AmMoreover is it without the Lord that I nowhave come up without Jehovah against this place to destroy it JehovahThe Lord said untoto me Go up against this land and destroy it
18:26 Then saidEli′akim Eliakim the son of HilkiahHilki′ah and Shebnah and JoahJo′ah untosaid Rabshakehto Speakthe IRab′shakeh prayPray theespeak to thyyour servants in the SyrianAramaic language; for we understand it:; anddo not speak notto with us in the Jews language inof Judah within the earshearing of the people thatwho are on the wall
18:27 But Rabshakehthe Rab′shakeh said untoto them HathHas my master sent me to thyspeak masterthese andwords to theeyour tomaster speakand theseto wordsyou hathand he not sent me to the men thatsitting sit on the wall who are doomed with you to eat their own dung and to drink their own water with you urine
18:28 Then Rabshakehthe Rab′shakeh stood and criedcalled without in a loud voice in the Jews language andof spakeJudah: saying Hear ye the word of the great king the king of Assyria
18:29 Thus saithsays the king: LetDo not Hezekiahlet Hezeki′ah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you out of hismy hand:
18:30 neitherDo not let HezekiahHezeki′ah make you trustto inrely Jehovahon the Lord by saying JehovahThe Lord will surely deliver us and this city shallwill not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria
18:31 HearkenDo not listen to Hezekiah:Hezeki′ah; for thus saithsays the king of Assyria: Make your peace with me and come out to me; andthen eat ye every one of you will eat of his own vine and every one of his own fig tree and drink ye every one of you will drink the waterswater of his own cistern;
18:32 until I come and take you away to a land like your own land a land of grain and new wine a land of bread and vineyards a land of olive trees and of honey that yeyou may live and not die: andAnd hearkendo not untolisten Hezekiahto Hezeki′ah when he persuadethmisleads you by saying JehovahThe Lord will deliver us
18:33 HathHas any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria
18:34 Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad whereWhere are the gods of SepharvaimSepharva′im of Hena and Ivvah haveHave they delivered SamariaSamar′ia out of my hand
18:35 Who are they among all the gods of the countries that have delivered their countrycountries out of my hand that Jehovahthe Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand
18:36 But the people heldwere theirsilent peace and answered him not a word; for the kings commandmentcommand was sayingDo Answernot answer him not
18:37 Then cameEli′akim Eliakim the son of HilkiahHilki′ah who was over the household and Shebna the scribesecretary and JoahJo′ah the son of Asaph the recorder came to HezekiahHezeki′ah with their clothes rent and told him the words of Rabshakehthe Rab′shakeh
19:1 AndWhen itKing cameHezeki′ah to pass when king Hezekiah heard it that he rent his clothes and covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of Jehovahthe Lord
19:2 And he sent EliakimEli′akim who was over the household and Shebna the scribesecretary and the elderssenior of the priests covered with sackcloth untoto Isaiah the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz
19:3 AndThey they said untoto him Thus saithsays HezekiahHezeki′ah This day is a day of troubledistress and of rebuke and of contumelydisgrace; for the children arehave come to the birth and there is notno strength to bring them forth
19:4 It may be Jehovahthat thythe Lord your God willheard hear all the words of Rabshakehthe Rab′shakeh whom his master the king of Assyria hishas master hath sent to defymock the living God and will rebuke the words which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas heard:; whereforetherefore lift up thyyour prayer for the remnant that is left
19:5 SoWhen the servants of kingKing HezekiahHezeki′ah came to Isaiah
19:6 And Isaiah said untoto them ThusSay shall ye say to your master Thus saithsays Jehovahthe BeLord: Do not be afraid because of the words that thouyou hasthave heard wherewithwith which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemedreviled me
19:7 Behold I will put a spirit in him andso that he shall hear tidingsa rumor and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land
19:8 SoThe RabshakehRab′shakeh returned and found the king of Assyria warringfighting against Libnah; for he had heard that hethe wasking departedhad fromleft Lachish
19:9 And when hethe king heard sayconcerning ofTirha′kah Tirhakah king of Ethiopia Behold he ishas comeset out to fight against theeyou he sent messengers again untoto HezekiahHezeki′ah saying
19:10 Thus shall yeyou speak to HezekiahHezeki′ah king of Judah: sayingDo Let not thylet your God inon whom thouyou trustestrely deceive theeyou sayingby promising that Jerusalem shallwill not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria
19:11 Behold thouyou hasthave heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly: andAnd shaltshall thouyou be delivered
19:12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them the nations which my fathers have destroyed Gozan and Haran and Rezeph and the childrenpeople of Eden thatwho were in TelassarTel assar
19:13 Where is the king of Hamath and the king of Arpad and the king of the city of SepharvaimSepharva′im the king of Hena andor the king of Ivvah
19:14 AndHezeki′ah Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and HezekiahHezeki′ah went up untoto the house of Jehovahthe Lord and spread it before Jehovahthe Lord
19:15 And HezekiahHezeki′ah prayed before Jehovahthe Lord and said: O JehovahLord the God of Israel thatwho sittestart enthroned above the cherubim thou art the God even thou alone of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth
19:16 Incline thinethy ear O JehovahLord and hear; open thinethy eyes O JehovahLord and see; and hear the words of SennacheribSennach′erib wherewithwhich he hathhas sent him to defymock the living God
19:17 Of a truth JehovahO Lord the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands
19:18 and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods but the work of mens hands wood and stone; therefore they havewere destroyed them
19:19 NowSo thereforenow O JehovahLord our God save thou us I beseech thee outfrom of his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou JehovahO Lord art God alone

19:21 This is the word that Jehovahthe hathLord has spoken concerning him: TheShe despises you she scorns you— the virgin daughter of Zion; hathshe despisedwags theeher andhead laughedbehind theeyou— to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee
19:22 Whom hasthave thouyou defiedmocked and blasphemedreviled andAgainst against whom hasthave thouyou exaltedraised thyyour voice and haughtily lifted upyour thine eyes onAgainst high even against the Holy One of Israel
19:23 By thyyour messengers thouyou hasthave defiedmocked the Lord and hastyou have said With themy multitudemany of my chariots am I comehave gone up to the heightheights of the mountains to the innermostfar partsrecesses of Lebanon; and I willfelled cutits downtallest the tall cedars thereofits andchoicest the choice fir trees thereofcypresses; and I willentered enterits into his farthest lodgingretreat placeits thedensest forest of his fruitful field
19:24 I havedug diggedwells and drunkdrank strangeforeign waters and I dried up with the sole of my feetfoot will I dry up all the riversstreams of Egypt
19:25 HastHave thouyou not heard howthat I havedetermined done it long ago andI formedplanned itfrom days of ancientold timeswhat now have I broughtbring it to pass that ityou should beturn thine to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps of ruins
19:26 Thereforewhile their inhabitants wereshorn of smallstrength powerare they were dismayed and confounded; theyand werehave asbecome thelike grassplants of the field and aslike thetender greengrass herblike as the grass on the housetops; andblighted as grain blasted before it is grown up
19:27 But I know thyyour sitting down and thyyour going out and thy coming in and thyyour raging against me
19:28 Because ofyou thyhave ragingraged against me and becauseyour thinearrogance arrogancyhas is come up into minemy ears thereforeI will I put my hook in thyyour nose and my bridlebit in thyyour lipsmouth and I will turn theeyou back byon the way by which thouyou camestcame
19:29 And this shall be the sign untofor theeyou: yethis year you shall eat thiswhat yeargrows that which groweth of itself and in the second year thatwhat whichsprings springeth of the same; andthen in the third year sow ye and reap and plant vineyards and eat thetheir fruit thereof
19:30 And the surviving remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward;
19:31 Forfor out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant and out of mountMount Zion theya thatband shallof escape:survivors theThe zeal of Jehovahthe shallLord performwill do this
19:32 Therefore thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord concerning the king of Assyria He shall not come untointo this city noror shoot an arrow there neitheror shall he come before it with a shield noror cast up a siege mound against it
19:33 By the way that he came by the same he shall he return and he shall not come untointo this city saithsays Jehovahthe Lord
19:34 For I will defend this city to save it for minemy own sake and for the sake of my servant Davids sakeDavid

20:1 In those days wasHezeki′ah Hezekiahbecame sick untoand was at the point of death And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said untoto him Thus saithsays Jehovahthe Lord Set thyyour house in order; for thouyou shaltshall die andyou shall not liverecover

20:6 And I will add untofifteen thyyears daysto fifteenyour years;life and I will deliver theeyou and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for minemy own sake and for my servant Davids sake
20:7 And Isaiah said TakeBring a cake of figs And theylet tookthem take and laidlay it on the boil andthat he recoveredmay recover
20:8 And HezekiahHezeki′ah said untoto Isaiah What shall be the sign that Jehovahthe Lord will heal me and that I shall go up untoto the house of Jehovahthe Lord on the third day
20:9 And Isaiah said This shallis be the sign untoto theeyou from Jehovahthe Lord that Jehovahthe Lord will do the thing that he hathhas spokenpromised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps or go back ten steps
20:10 And HezekiahHezeki′ah answered It is aan lighteasy thing for the shadow to declinelengthen ten steps:; nayrather but let the shadow returngo backwardback ten steps
20:11 And Isaiah the prophet cried untoto Jehovahthe Lord; and he brought the shadow back ten steps backward by which itthe sun had gonedeclined down on the dial of Ahaz

20:16 AndThen Isaiah said untoto HezekiahHezeki′ah Hear the word of Jehovahthe Lord:
20:17 Behold the days comeare thatcoming when all that is in thyyour house and that which thyyour fathers have laidstored up intill store unto this day shall be carried to Babylon:; nothing shall be left saithsays Jehovahthe Lord
20:18 And some of thyyour own sons thatwho shallare issueborn fromto theeyou whom thou shalt beget shall theybe taketaken away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon
20:19 Then said HezekiahHezeki′ah untoto Isaiah GoodThe is the word of Jehovahthe Lord which thouyou hasthave spoken Heis saidgood moreoverFor Ishe itthought Why not so if there will be peace and truthsecurity shall be in my days
