| 1:1 |
Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved brother and fellow worker, |
| 1:2 |
and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in thyyour house: |
| 1:4 |
I thank my God always, making mention of theeyou in my prayers, |
| 1:5 |
hearingbecause I hear of thyyour love, and of the faith which thouyou hasthave toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints; |
| 1:6 |
and I pray that the fellowship of thyyour faith may become effectual, effective inthrough the knowledge of every good thing which is in you, untofor ChristChrists sake. |
| 1:7 |
For I hadhave come to have much joy and comfort in thyyour love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through theeyou, brother. |
| 1:8 |
WhereforeTherefore, though I have allenough boldnessconfidence in Christ to enjoinorder theeyou to do that which is befittingproper, |
| 1:9 |
yet for loves sake I rather beseech, appeal beingto you since I am such a oneperson as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner also of Christ Jesus: |
| 1:10 |
I beseechappeal theeto you for my child, whom I have begotten in my bondsimprisonment, Onesimus, |
| 1:11 |
who onceformerly was unprofitableuseless to theeyou, but now is profitableuseful both to theeyou and to me:. |
| 1:12 |
whomAnd I have sent him back to theeyou in his own person, that is, sending my very heart:, |
| 1:13 |
whom I wouldwished fainto havekeep kept with me, that in thyyour behalf he might minister untoto me in themy bondsimprisonment offor the gospel:; |
| 1:14 |
but without thyyour mindconsent I woulddid not want to do nothing;anything, that thyyour goodness should not be as ofit necessitywere by compulsion, but of your own free will. |
| 1:15 |
For perhaps he was thereforefor this reason parted from theeyou for a seasonwhile, that thouyou shouldestshould have him forback ever;forever, |
| 1:16 |
no longer as a servantslave, but more than a servantslave, a beloved brother beloved, speciallyespecially to me, but how much rathermore to theeyou, both in the flesh and in the Lord. |
| 1:17 |
If then thouyou countestregard me a partner, receiveaccept him as myselfyou would me. |
| 1:18 |
But if he hathhas wronged theeyou atin allany way, or owethowes theeyou aughtanything, putcharge that to minemy account; |
| 1:19 |
I, Paul, writeam itwriting this with minemy own hand, I will repay it: thatlest I sayshould notmention untoto theeyou that thouyou owestowe to me even thineyour own self besidesas well. |
| 1:20 |
YeaYes, brother, let me havebenefit joyfrom ofyou thee in the Lord:; refresh my heart in Christ. |
| 1:21 |
Having confidence in thineyour obedience, I write untoto theeyou, knowingsince I know that thouyou wiltwill do even beyondmore than what I say. |
| 1:22 |
ButAnd withalat the same time also prepare me also a lodging:; for I hope that through your prayers I shall be grantedgiven untoto you. |
| 1:23 |
Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, salutethgreets thee;you, |
| 1:24 |
andas so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow workers. |
| 1:25 |
The grace of ourthe Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. |
