| 4:25 |
But of a truth I say untoto you in truth, Therethere were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heavensky was shut up for three years and six months, when there came a great famine came over all the land; |
| 4:26 |
and untoyet Elijah was sent to none of them was Elijah sent, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, untoto a woman thatwho was a widow. |
| 4:28 |
And theyall in the synagogue were all filled with wrathrage in the synagogue, as they heard these things; |
| 4:29 |
and they rose up, and cast himHim forth out of the city, and led himHim untoto the brow of the hill whereonon which their city washad been built, thatin theyorder mightto throw himHim down headlongthe cliff. |
| 4:30 |
But he passing through thetheir midst, ofHe them went hisHis way. |
| 4:31 |
And heHe came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And heHe was teaching them on the sabbath day:Sabbath; |
| 4:32 |
and they were astonishedamazed at hisHis teaching;, for hisHis wordmessage was with authority. |
| 4:33 |
And in the synagogue there was a man, thatin hadthe asynagogue possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon;, and he cried out with a loud voice, |
| 4:34 |
AhHa! whatWhat havedo we have to do with theeYou, Jesus thouof NazareneNazareth? artHave thouYou come to destroy us? I know thee who thouYou art,are the Holy One of God.! |
| 4:35 |
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, HoldBe thyquiet peace, and come out of him.! And when the demon had thrown him down in thetheir midst, he came out of him, havingwithout donedoing him noany hurtharm. |
| 4:36 |
And amazement came upon them all, and they spakebegan together, discussing with one with another, saying, What is this wordmessage? forFor with authority and power heHe commandethcommands the unclean spirits, and they come out. |
| 4:37 |
And therethe wentreport forthabout aHim rumorwas concerninggetting himout into every placelocality ofin the regionsurrounding round aboutdistrict. |
| 4:38 |
And heHe rosearose upand fromleft the synagogue, and entered intoSimons the house of Simonhome. AndNow Simons wifes mother in law was holdensuffering withfrom a greathigh fever; and they besoughtmade himrequest forof Him on her behalf. |
| 4:39 |
And hestanding stood over her, andHe rebuked the fever;, and it left her:; and immediately she roseimmediately uparose and ministeredwaited untoon them. |
| 4:40 |
And whenwhile the sun was setting, all theywho that had any sick with diversvarious diseases brought them untoto himHim; and helaying laidHis his hands on every one of them, andHe healedwas healing them. |
| 4:41 |
And demons also camewere coming out fromof many, crying out, and saying, ThouYou artare the Son of God.! And rebuking them, heHe sufferedwould not allow them not to speak, because they knew thatHim heto wasbe the Christ. |
| 4:42 |
And when itday was daycame, heHe camedeparted out and went intoto a desertlonely place:; and the multitudes soughtwere aftersearching himfor Him, and came untoto himHim, and wouldtried haveto stayedkeep him,Him thatfrom hegoing shouldaway not go from them. |
| 4:43 |
But heHe said untoto them, I must preach the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also:, for thereforeI was Isent sentfor this purpose. |
| 4:44 |
And heHe waskept on preaching in the synagogues of GalileeJudea. |
| 5:1 |
Now it came toabout pass, that while the multitude pressedwere uponpressing himaround Him and heardlistening to the word of God, thatHe he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret; |
| 5:2 |
and heHe saw two boats standinglying byat the edge of the lake:; but the fishermen had gonegotten out of them, and were washing their nets. |
| 5:3 |
And heHe enteredgot into one of the boats, which was Simons, and asked him to put out a little way from the land. And heHe sat down and taughtbegan teaching the multitudes outfrom of the boat. |
| 5:4 |
And when heHe had leftfinished speaking, heHe said untoto Simon, Put out into the deep, water and let down your nets for a draughtcatch. |
| 5:5 |
And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiledworked hard all night, and tookcaught nothing:, but at thyYour wordbidding I will let down the nets. |
| 5:6 |
And when they had done this, they inclosedenclosed a great multitudequantity of fishesfish; and their nets werebegan breakingto break; |
| 5:7 |
and they beckonedsignaled untoto their partners in the other boat, thatfor theythem shouldto come and help them. And they came, and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink. |
| 5:8 |
But when Simon Peter, when he saw itthat, he fell down at Jesus kneesfeet, saying, Depart from me;, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.! |
| 5:9 |
For heamazement washad amazed, seized him and all thathis werecompanions withbecause him,of at the draughtcatch of thefish fishes which they had taken; |
| 5:10 |
and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said untoto Simon, FearDo not; fear, from henceforthnow thouon shaltyou catchwill be catching men. |
| 5:11 |
And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, everything and followed himHim. |
| 5:12 |
And it came toabout pass, that while heHe was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy:; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and besoughtimplored himHim, saying, Lord, if thouYou wiltare willing, thouYou canstcan make me clean. |
| 5:13 |
And heHe stretched forthout hisHis hand, and touched him, saying, I willam willing; be thou made cleancleansed. And straightwayimmediately the leprosy departedleft from him. |
| 5:14 |
And heHe chargedordered him to tell no man:one, butBut go thy way, and show thyselfyourself to the priest, and offermake an offering for thyyour cleansing, accordingjust as Moses commanded, for a testimony untoto them. |
| 5:15 |
But so much the morenews wentabout abroadHim thewas reportspreading concerningeven him:farther, and great multitudes camewere togethergathering to hear, Him and to be healed of their infirmitiessicknesses. |
| 5:16 |
But heHe withdrewHimself himselfwould inoften slip away to the deserts, wilderness and prayedpray. |
| 5:17 |
And it came toabout pass on one ofday those days, that heHe was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and doctorsteachers of the law sitting bythere, who werehad come outfrom of every village of Galilee and JudaeaJudea and from Jerusalem:; and the power of the Lord was withpresent himfor Him to healperform healing. |
| 5:18 |
And behold, some men bringwere carrying on a bed a man thatwho was palsied:paralyzed; and they soughtwere trying to bring him in, and to layset him beforedown himin front of Him. |
| 5:19 |
And not finding byany what way theyto might bring him in because of the multitudecrowd, they went up toon the housetop, roof and let him down through the tiles with his couchstretcher, intoright in the midstcenter, beforein front of Jesus. |
| 5:20 |
And seeing their faith, heHe said, ManFriend, thyyour sins are forgiven theeyou. |
| 5:21 |
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this thatman speakethwho speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? |
| 5:22 |
But Jesus, perceivingaware of their reasonings, answered and said untoto them, Why reasonare yeyou reasoning in your hearts? |
| 5:23 |
Which is easier, to say, ThyYour sins arehave been forgiven thee;you, or to say, AriseRise and walk ? |
| 5:24 |
But in order that yeyou may know that the Son of manMan hathhas authority on earth to forgive sins, heHe said untoto himthe thatparalytic was palsied, I say untoto theeyou, Ariserise, and take up thyyour couch, stretcher and go unto thy househome. |
| 5:25 |
And immediatelyat once he rose up before them, and took up thatwhat whereon he layhad been lying on, and departedwent to his househome, glorifying God. |
| 5:26 |
And amazementthey tookwere holdall onseized all, with astonishment and theybegan glorifiedglorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strangeremarkable things to daytoday. |
| 5:27 |
And after thesethat thingsHe he went forthout, and beheldnoticed a publican, tax gatherer named Levi, sitting atin the placetax of tolloffice, and He said untoto him, Follow meMe. |
| 5:28 |
And he forsookleft alleverything behind, and rose up and followedbegan himto follow Him. |
| 5:29 |
And Levi madegave him a greatbig feastreception for Him in his house:; and there was a great multitudecrowd of publicanstax gatherers and ofother otherspeople thatwho were sittingreclining at meatthe table with them. |
| 5:30 |
And the Pharisees and their scribes murmuredbegan againstgrumbling hisat His disciples, saying, Why do yeyou eat and drink with the publicanstax gatherers and sinners? |
| 5:31 |
And Jesus answeringanswered and said untoto them, TheyIt thatis arenot inthose healthwho haveare nowell who need of a physician;, but theythose thatwho are sick. |
| 5:32 |
I amhave not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. |
| 5:33 |
And they said untoto himHim, The disciples of John often fast often, and makeoffer supplicationsprayers; likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees also do the same; but thineYours eat and drink. |
| 5:34 |
And Jesus said untoto them, CanYou yecannot make the sonsattendants of the bridebridegroom chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them, can you? |
| 5:35 |
But the days will come; and when the bridegroom shallis be taken away from them, then they will they fast in those days. |
| 5:36 |
And heHe spakewas also telling them a parable unto them: No manone rendethtears a piece from a new garment and puttethputs it uponon an old garment; elseotherwise he will rendboth tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not agreematch with the old. |
| 5:37 |
And no manone puttethputs new wine into old wine skinswineskins; elseotherwise the new wine will burst the skins, and itselfit will be spilled out, and the skins will perishbe ruined. |
| 5:38 |
But new wine must be put into fresh wine skinswineskins. |
| 5:39 |
And no manone, havingafter drunkdrinking old wine desirethwishes for new; for he saithsays, The old is good enough. |
| 6:1 |
Now it came toabout passthat on a sabbath, certain thatSabbath heHe was goingpassing through thesome grainfields; and hisHis disciples pluckedwere picking and eating the ears, heads andof did eatgrain, rubbing them in their hands. |
| 6:2 |
But certainsome of the Pharisees said, Why do yeyou thatdo whichwhat it is not lawful to do on the sabbath daySabbath? |
| 6:3 |
And Jesus answering them said, Have yeyou not read even this, read what David did, when he was hungry, he, and theythose thatwho were with him;, |
| 6:4 |
how he entered into the house of God, and took and ate the showbread, consecrated andbread gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful for any to eat saveexcept for the priests alone, and gave it to his companions? |
| 6:5 |
And heHe saidwas untosaying to them, The Son of manMan is Lord of the sabbathSabbath. |
| 6:6 |
And it came toabout pass on another sabbathSabbath, that heHe entered into the synagogue and taught:was teaching; and there was a man there, andwhose his right hand was withered. |
| 6:7 |
And the scribes and the Pharisees watchedwere himwatching Him closely, whetherto hesee wouldif healHe healed on the sabbath;Sabbath, in order that they might find howreason to accuse himHim. |
| 6:8 |
But heHe knew theirwhat thoughts;they were thinking, and heHe said to the man thatwith hadthe hiswithered hand withered, Rise up, and standcome forthforward! in the midst. And he aroserose and stoodcame forthforward. |
| 6:9 |
And Jesus said untoto them, I ask you, Isis it lawful on the sabbathSabbath to do good, or to do harm?, to save a life, or to destroy it? |
| 6:10 |
And heafter lookedlooking roundaround aboutat on them all, andHe said untoto him, Stretch forthout thyyour hand.! And he did so:; and his hand was restored. |
| 6:11 |
But they themselves were filled with madness;rage, and communeddiscussed onetogether with another what they might do to Jesus. |
| 6:12 |
And it camewas toat passthis intime these days, that heHe went outoff intoto the mountain to pray;, and heHe continuedspent allthe whole night in prayer to God. |
| 6:13 |
And when itday was daycame, heHe called hisHis disciples to Him; and he chose fromtwelve of them twelve, whom He also he named as apostles: |
| 6:14 |
Simon, whom heHe also named Peter, and Andrew his brother,; and James and John,; and Philip and Bartholomew,; |
| 6:15 |
and Matthew and Thomas,; and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,; |
| 6:16 |
and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor;. |
| 6:17 |
andAnd heHe camedescended down with them, and stood on a level place,; and there was a great multitude of hisHis disciples, and a great numberthrong of the people from all JudaeaJudea and Jerusalem, and the seacoastal coastregion of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; |
| 6:18 |
who had come to hear Him, and theyto thatbe healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were healedbeing cured. |
| 6:19 |
And all the multitude soughtwere trying to touch him;Him, for power camewas forthcoming from him,Him and healedhealing them all. |
| 6:20 |
And heturning liftedHis upgaze his eyes on hisHis disciples, andHe saidbegan to say, Blessed are yeyou who are poor:, for yours is the kingdom of God. |
| 6:21 |
Blessed are yeyou thatwho hunger now:, for yeyou shall be filledsatisfied. Blessed are yeyou thatwho weep now:, for yeyou shall laugh. |
| 6:22 |
Blessed are ye,you when men shall hate you, and whenostracize they shall separate you, fromand theircast company, insults andat reproach you, and castspurn out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of mans sakeMan. |
| 6:23 |
RejoiceBe glad in that day, and leap for joy:, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for in the same mannerway did their fathers untoused to treat the prophets. |
| 6:24 |
But woe untoto you thatwho are rich!, for yeyou haveare receivedreceiving your consolationcomfort in full. |
| 6:25 |
Woe untoto you, yewho that are fullwell fed now!, for yeyou shall hungerbe hungry. Woe untoto you, yewho that laugh now!, for yeyou shall mourn and weep. |
| 6:26 |
Woe untoto you, when all men shall speak well of you!, for in the same mannerway did their fathers used to treat the false prophets. |
| 6:27 |
But I say untoto you thatwho hear, Lovelove your enemies, do good to themthose thatwho hate you, |
| 6:28 |
bless themthose thatwho curse you, pray for themthose thatwho despitefullymistreat use you. |
| 6:29 |
ToWhoever himhits thatyou smiteth thee on the one cheek, offer alsohim the other also; and fromwhoever himtakes thataway takethyour awaycoat, thydo cloaknot withhold notyour thyshirt coatfrom alsohim either. |
| 6:30 |
Give to everyeveryone onewho thatasks askethof thee;you, and ofwhoever himtakes that taketh away thywhat goodsis askyours, themdo not againdemand it back. |
| 6:31 |
And just as yeyou wouldwant thatpeople mento shouldtreat do to you, dotreat yethem alsoin tothe themsame likewiseway. |
| 6:32 |
And if yeyou love themthose thatwho love you, what thankcredit haveis yethat to you? forFor even sinners love those thatwho love them. |
| 6:33 |
And if yeyou do good to themthose thatwho do good to you, what thankcredit haveis yethat to you? forFor even sinners do the same. |
| 6:34 |
And if yeyou lend to themthose offrom whom yeyou hopeexpect to receive, what thankcredit haveis yethat to you? evenEven sinners lend to sinners, in order to receive againback asthe muchsame amount. |
| 6:35 |
But love your enemies, and do them good, and lend, neverexpecting despairingnothing in return; and your reward shallwill be great, and yeyou shallwill be sons of the Most High:; for heHe Himself is kind towardto theungrateful unthankful and evil men. |
| 6:36 |
Be ye merciful, evenjust as your Father is merciful. |
| 6:37 |
And judgedo not, judge and yeyou shallwill not be judged:; and condemndo not condemn, and yeyou shallwill not be condemned:; releasepardon, and yeyou shallwill be released:pardoned. |
| 6:38 |

| 6:39 |
And heHe spake also spoke a parable untoto them,: CanA the blind man cannot guide thea blind man, can he? shallWill they not both fall into a pit? |
| 6:40 |
TheA disciplepupil is not above his teacher:; but everyeveryone, oneafter when he ishas perfectedbeen shallfully trained, will be aslike his teacher. |
| 6:41 |
And why beholdestdo thouyou look at the motespeck that is in thyyour brothers eye, but considerestdo not notice the beamlog that is in thineyour own eye? |
| 6:42 |
Or how canstcan thouyou say to thyyour brother, Brother, let me casttake out the motespeck that is in thineyour eye, when thouyou thyselfyourself beholdestdo not see the beamlog that is in thineyour own eye? ThouYou hypocrite, castfirst outtake first the beamlog out of thineyour own eye, and then shaltyou thouwill see clearly to casttake out the motespeck that is in thyyour brothers eye. |
| 6:43 |
For there is no good tree thatwhich bringethproduces forthbad corrupt fruit; nor, againon the other hand, a corruptbad tree thatwhich bringethproduces forth good fruit. |
| 6:44 |
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs from thorns, nor ofdo athey bramblepick bushgrapes gatherfrom theya grapesbriar bush. |
| 6:45 |
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringethbrings forth thatwhat which is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure bringethbrings forth thatwhat which is evil:; for outhis ofmouth thespeaks abundancefrom ofthat thewhich heartfills his mouth speakethheart. |
| 6:46 |
And why do you call ye meMe, Lord, Lord, and do not thedo thingswhat which I say? |
| 6:47 |
EveryEveryone onewho thatcomes comethto unto meMe, and hearethhears myMy words, and doethacts upon them, I will show you to whom he is like: |
| 6:48 |
he is like a man building a house, who diggeddug and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock:; and when a flood aroserose, the streamtorrent brakeburst against that house, and could not shake it:, because it had been well buildedbuilt. |
| 6:49 |
But hethe thatone hearethwho has heard, and doethhas not acted accordingly, is like a man thatwho built a house upon the earthground without aany foundation; againstand which the streamtorrent brake, burst against it and straightwayimmediately it fellcollapsed, in; and the ruin of that house was great. |
| 7:1 |
AfterWhen heHe had endedcompleted all hisHis sayingsdiscourse in the earshearing of the people, heHe enteredwent intoto Capernaum. |
| 7:2 |
And a certain centurions servantslave, who was dearhighly untoregarded by him, was sick and atabout theto point of deathdie. |
| 7:3 |
And when he heard concerningabout Jesus, he sent untosome himJewish elders of the Jews, asking himHim thatto he would come and save the life of his servantslave. |
| 7:4 |
And they, when they camehad come to Jesus, besoughtthey himearnestly earnestlyentreated Him, saying, He is worthy thatfor thouYou shouldestto dogrant this forto him; |
| 7:5 |
for he lovethloves our nation, and himselfit was he who built us our synagogue. |
| 7:6 |
AndNow Jesus wentstarted on His way with them.; Andand when heHe was nowalready not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying untoto himHim, Lord, troubledo not thyself;trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy thatfor thouYou shouldestto come under my roof:; |
| 7:7 |
whereforefor neitherthis thoughtreason I did not even consider myself worthy to come untoto thee:You, but just say the word, and my servant shallwill be healed. |
| 7:8 |
For I, alsotoo, am a man set under authority, havingwith soldiers under myselfme; soldiers: and I say to this one, Go,! and he goethgoes; and to another, Come,! and he comethcomes; and to my servantslave, Do this,! and he doethdoes it. |
| 7:9 |
AndNow when Jesus heard these thingsthis, heHe marvelledmarveled at him, and turned and said untoto the multitude that followedwas himfollowing Him, I say untoto you, Inot even in Israel have notI found sosuch great faith, no, not in Israel. |
| 7:10 |
And theywhen thatthose werewho had been sent, returningreturned to the house, they found the servantslave wholein good health. |
| 7:11 |
And it came toabout pass soon afterwards, that heHe went to a city called Nain; and hisHis disciples wentwere going along with himHim, andaccompanied by a greatlarge multitude. |
| 7:12 |
Now whenas heHe drewapproached near to the gate of the city, behold, therea dead man was being carried out one that was dead, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow:; and mucha peoplesizeable ofcrowd from the city was with her. |
| 7:13 |
And when the Lord saw her, heHe hadfelt compassion onfor her, and said untoto her, WeepDo not weep. |
| 7:14 |
And heHe came nighup and touched the bier:coffin; and the bearers stoodcame stillto a halt. And heHe said, Young man, I say untoto theeyou, Arise.arise! |
| 7:15 |
And hethe thatdead wasman dead sat up, and began to speak. And heJesus gave him back to his mother. |
| 7:16 |
And fear tookgripped holdthem on all:, and they glorifiedbegan glorifying God, saying, A great prophet ishas arisen among us:! and, God hathhas visited hisHis people.! |
| 7:17 |
And this report went forth concerning himHim inwent theout wholeall ofover JudaeaJudea, and in all the regionsurrounding round aboutdistrict. |
| 7:18 |
And the disciples of John toldreported to him ofabout all these things. |
| 7:19 |
And Johnsummoning calling unto him two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, ArtAre thouYou hethe thatExpected comethOne, or lookdo we look for anothersomeone else? |
| 7:20 |
And when the men werehad come untoto himHim, they said, John the Baptist hathhas sent us untoto theeYou, saying, ArtAre thouYou hethe thatExpected comethOne, or lookdo we look for anothersomeone else? |
| 7:21 |
InAt that hourvery hetime He cured many people of diseases and plaguesafflictions and evil spirits; and onHe granted sight to many thatwho were blind he bestowed sight. |
| 7:22 |
And heHe answered and said untoto them, Go and tellreport to John thewhat thingsyou which ye have seen and heard;: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have goodthe tidingsgospel preached to them. |
| 7:23 |
And blessed is he, whosoeverwho shallkeeps findfrom no occasion of stumbling inover meMe. |
| 7:24 |
And when the messengers of John werehad departedleft, heHe began to sayspeak untoto the multitudes concerningabout John, What wentdid yeyou go out into the wilderness to beholdlook at? aA reed shaken withby the wind? |
| 7:25 |
But what wentdid yeyou go out to see? aA man clotheddressed in soft raimentclothing? Behold, theythose thatwho are gorgeouslysplendidly apparelled, clothed and live delicately,in luxury are found in kingsroyal courtspalaces. |
| 7:26 |
But what wentdid yeyou go out to see? aA prophet? YeaYes, I say untoto you, and muchone who is more than a prophet. |
| 7:27 |
This is hethe ofone about whom it is written, Behold, I send myMy messenger before thyYour face, Who shallwill prepare thyYour way before theeYou. |
| 7:28 |
I say untoto you, Amongamong themthose that are born of women, there is noneno one greater than John:; yet he thatwho is butleast little in the kingdom of God is greater than he. |
| 7:29 |
And when all the people whenand theythe tax gatherers heard this, andthey theacknowledged publicansGods justice, justifiedhaving God,been being baptized with the baptism of John. |
| 7:30 |
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected Gods purpose for themselves, thenot counselhaving ofbeen God, being not baptized ofby himJohn. |
| 7:31 |
WhereuntoTo what then shall I likencompare the men of this generation, and to what are they like? |
| 7:32 |
They are like unto children thatwho sit in the marketplace, market place and call to one to another; whoand they say, We pipedplayed untothe flute for you, and yeyou did not dance; we wailedsang a dirge, and yeyou did not weep. |
| 7:33 |
For John the Baptist ishas come eating no bread norand drinking no wine; and yeyou say, He hathhas a demon.! |
| 7:34 |
The Son of manMan ishas come eating and drinking; and yeyou say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a winebibberdrunkard, a friend of publicanstax gatherers and sinners! |
| 7:35 |
AndYet wisdom is justifiedvindicated ofby all her children. |
| 7:36 |
AndNow one of the Pharisees desiredwas himrequesting thatHim heto woulddine eat with him. And heHe entered into the Pharisees house, and satreclined downat tothe meattable. |
| 7:37 |
And behold, there was a woman who was in the city, who was a sinner; and when she knewlearned that heHe was sittingreclining at meatthe table in the Pharisees house, she brought an alabaster crusevial of ointmentperfume, |
| 7:38 |
and standing behind Him at hisHis feet, weeping, she began to wet hisHis feet with her tears, and wipedkept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissedkissing hisHis feet, and anointedanointing them with the ointmentperfume. |
| 7:39 |
Now when the Pharisee thatwho had biddeninvited himHim saw itthis, he spakesaid withinto himself, saying,If Thisthis man, if he were a prophet, He would haveknow perceived who and what mannersort of womanperson this woman is thatwho touchethis himtouching Him, that she is a sinner. |
| 7:40 |
And Jesus answeringanswered and said untoto him, Simon, I have somewhatsomething to say untoto theeyou. And he saithreplied, TeacherSay it, say onTeacher. |
| 7:41 |
A certain lendermoneylender had two debtors: the one owed five hundred shillingsdenarii, and the other fifty. |
| 7:42 |
When they hadwere notunable wherewith to payrepay, he graciously forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him mostmore? |
| 7:43 |
Simon answered and said, He, I suppose, tothe one whom he forgave the mostmore. And heHe said untoto him, ThouYou hasthave rightlyjudged judgedcorrectly. |
| 7:44 |
And turning totoward the woman, heHe said untoto Simon, SeestDo thouyou see this woman? I entered intoyour thy house,; thouyou gavestgave meMe no water for myMy feet:, but she hathhas wettedwet myMy feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair. |
| 7:45 |
ThouYou gavestgave meMe no kiss:; but she, since the time I came in, hathhas not ceased to kiss myMy feet. |
| 7:46 |
You did not anoint My head with oil, thou didst not anoint: but she hath anointed myMy feet with ointmentperfume. |
| 7:47 |
WhereforeFor this reason I say untoto theeyou, Herher sins, which are many, arehave been forgiven;, for she loved much:; but tohe whomwho little is forgiven little, theloves same loveth little. |
| 7:48 |
And heHe said untoto her, ThyYour sins arehave been forgiven. |
| 7:49 |
And theythose thatwho satwere reclining at meatthe table with himHim began to say withinto themselves, Who is this thatman who even forgivethforgives sins? |
| 7:50 |
And heHe said untoto the woman, ThyYour faith hathhas saved theeyou; go in peace. |
| 8:1 |
And it came toabout pass soon afterwards, that heHe wentbegan going about throughfrom citiesone city and villagesvillage to another, preachingproclaiming and bringingpreaching the good tidings of the kingdom of God,; and withthe himtwelve thewere twelvewith Him, |
| 8:2 |
and certainalso some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmitiessicknesses: Mary thatwho was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, |
| 8:3 |
and Joanna the wife of ChuzasChuza, Herods steward, and Susanna, and many others, who ministeredwere untocontributing themto their support out of their substanceprivate means. |
| 8:4 |
And when a great multitude camewere coming together, and theythose offrom everythe cityvarious resortedcities untowere himjourneying to Him, heHe spakespoke by way of a parable: |
| 8:5 |
The sower went forthout to sow his seed:; and as he sowed, some fell bybeside the way sideroad; and it was troddentrampled under foot, and the birds of the heavenair devouredate it up. |
| 8:6 |
And other seed fell on therocky rock;soil, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. |
| 8:7 |
And other seed fell amidstamong the thorns; and the thorns grew up with it, and choked it out. |
| 8:8 |
And other seed fell into the good groundsoil, and grew up, and broughtproduced fortha fruitcrop a hundredfoldhundred times as great. As heHe said these things, heHe criedwould call out, He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear. |
| 8:9 |
And hisHis disciples askedbegan himquestioning Him as to what this parable might be. |
| 8:10 |
And heHe said, UntoTo you it ishas givenbeen granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God:, but to the rest it is in parables;, in order that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. |
| 8:11 |
Now the parable is this: Thethe seed is the word of God. |
| 8:12 |
And those bybeside the wayroad side are theythose thatwho have heard; then cometh the devil, comes and takethtakes away the word from their heart, so that they may not believe and be saved. |
| 8:13 |
And those on the rockrocky soil are theythose who, when they have heardhear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root,; whothey believe for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. |
| 8:14 |
And thatthe seed which fell among the thorns, these are theythe thatones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with caresworries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfectionmaturity. |
| 8:15 |
And thatthe seed in the good groundsoil, these are suchthe asones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, havingand heard the word, hold it fast, and bringbear forth fruit with patienceperseverance. |
| 8:16 |
AndNow no man,one whenafter helighting hath lighted a lamp, coverethcovers it over with a vesselcontainer, or puttethputs it under a bed; but puttethhe puts it on a standlampstand, thatin theyorder that enterthose who come in may see the light. |
| 8:17 |
For nothing is hid, hidden that shall not bebecome madeevident, manifest; nor anything secret, that shall not be known and come to light. |
| 8:18 |
TakeTherefore heedtake thereforecare how yeyou hear:listen; for whosoeverwhoever hathhas, to him shall more be given; and whosoeverwhoever hathdoes not have, fromeven himwhat he thinks he has shall be taken away evenfrom that which he thinketh he hathhim. |
| 8:19 |
And thereHis camemother toand himbrothers hiscame motherto and brethrenHim, and they couldwere notunable cometo atget himto forHim because of the crowd. |
| 8:20 |
And it was toldreported himto Him, ThyYour mother and thyYour brethrenbrothers standare withoutstanding outside, desiringwishing to see theeYou. |
| 8:21 |
But heHe answered and said untoto them, My mother and myMy brethrenbrothers are these thatwho hear the word of God, and do it. |
| 8:22 |
Now it came toabout pass on one of those days, that heHe enteredand His disciples got into a boat, himself and hisHe disciples; and he said untoto them, Let us go over untoto the other side of the lake:. andAnd they launched forthout. |
| 8:23 |
But as they sailedwere hesailing along He fell asleep:; and therea camefierce downgale a storm of wind ondescended upon the lake;, and they werebegan fillingto withbe water, swamped and wereto be in jeopardydanger. |
| 8:24 |
And they came to him,Him and awokewoke himHim up, saying, Master, masterMaster, we perish.are perishing! And hebeing awokearoused, andHe rebuked the wind and the ragingsurging ofwaves, the water: and they ceasedstopped, and thereit wasbecame a calm. |
| 8:25 |
And heHe said untoto them, Where is your faith? And beingthey afraidwere theyfearful marvelledand amazed, saying to one to another, Who then is this, that heHe commandethcommands even the winds and the water, and they obey himHim? |
| 8:26 |
And they arrivedsailed atto the country of the Gerasenes, which is overopposite against Galilee. |
| 8:27 |
And when heHe washad come forthout upononto the land, thereHe was met himby a certain man outfrom of the city, who hadwas possessed with demons; and forwho ahad longnot timeput heon hadany wornclothing nofor clothesa long time, and abodewas not living in anya house, but in the tombs. |
| 8:28 |
And whenseeing he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before himHim, and withsaid in a loud voice said, What havedo I have to do with theeYou, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I beseechbeg theeYou, do not torment me not. |
| 8:29 |
For heHe washad been commanding the unclean spirit to come out fromof the man. For oftentimes it had seized him: many times; and he was keptbound underwith guard, chains and boundshackles withand chainskept andunder fettersguard; and breakingyet thehe bandswould asunder, burst hehis wasfetters and be driven ofby the demon into the desertsdesert. |
| 8:30 |
And Jesus asked him, What is thyyour name? And he said, Legion; for many demons werehad entered into him. |
| 8:31 |
And they entreatedwere himentreating thatHim henot wouldto not command them to depart into the abyss. |
| 8:32 |
Now there was there a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain:; and theythe demons entreated himHim thatto hepermit would give them leave to enter intothe themswine. And heHe gave them leavepermission. |
| 8:33 |
And the demons came out from the man, and entered into the swine:; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned. |
| 8:34 |
And when theythe thatherdsmen fed them saw what had come to passhappened, they fled, ran away and toldreported it in the city and out in the country. |
| 8:35 |
And theythe people went out to see what had come to passhappened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man, from whom the demons werehad gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind,; at the feet of Jesus: and they werebecame afraidfrightened. |
| 8:36 |
And theythose thatwho sawhad seen it toldreported to them how hethe thatman who was demon possessed withhad demonsbeen was made wholewell. |
| 8:37 |
And all the people of the country of the Gerasenes roundand aboutthe surrounding district asked himHim to depart from them; for they were holdengripped with great fear:; and heHe enteredgot into a boat, and returned. |
| 8:38 |
But the man from whom the demons werehad gone out prayedwas himbegging Him that he might beaccompany withHim; him: but heHe sent him away, saying, |
| 8:39 |
Return to thyyour house, and declaredescribe howwhat great things God hathhas done for theeyou. And he went his wayaway, publishingproclaiming throughout the whole city howwhat great things Jesus had done for him. |
| 8:40 |
And as Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him;Him, for they werehad all been waiting for himHim. |
| 8:41 |
And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was aan rulerofficial of the synagogue:; and he fell down at Jesus feet, and besoughtbegan himto entreat Him to come intoto his house; |
| 8:42 |
for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of ageold, and she was dying. But as heHe went, the multitudes throngedwere himpressing against Him. |
| 8:43 |
And a woman havingwho anhad issuea ofhemorrhage bloodfor twelve years, who had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be healed ofby anyanyone, |
| 8:44 |
came up behind himHim, and touched the borderfringe of hisHis garment:cloak; and immediately the issue of her bloodhemorrhage stanchedstopped. |
| 8:45 |
And Jesus said, Who is itthe thatone who touched meMe? And whenwhile they were all denieddenying it, Peter said, and they that were with him, Master, the multitudes pressare theecrowding and crushpressing theeupon You. |
| 8:46 |
But Jesus said, SomeSomeone one did touch me;Me, for I perceivedwas aware that power had gone forthout fromof meMe. |
| 8:47 |
And when the woman saw that she washad not hidescaped notice, she came trembling, and fallingfell down before himHim, and declared in the presence of all the people forthe whatreason causewhy she had touched himHim, and how she washad healedbeen immediately healed. |
| 8:48 |
And heHe said untoto her, Daughter, thyyour faith hathhas made theeyou wholewell; go in peace. |
| 8:49 |
While heHe yetwas spakestill speaking, theresomeone comethcame one from the rulerhouse of the synagoguessynagogue houseofficial, saying, ThyYour daughter ishas deaddied; troubledo not trouble the Teacher anymore. |
| 8:50 |
But when Jesus hearingheard itthis, He answered him, FearDo not: be afraid any longer; only believe, and she shall be made wholewell. |
| 8:51 |
And when heHe camehad come to the house, heHe suffereddid not anyallow mananyone to enter in with himHim, saveexcept Peter, and John, and James, and the girls father of the maiden and her mother. |
| 8:52 |
AndNow allthey were all weeping, and bewailinglamenting for her:; but heHe said, WeepStop not;weeping, for she ishas not deaddied, but sleepethis asleep. |
| 8:53 |
And they laughedbegan himlaughing toat scornHim, knowing that she washad deaddied. |
| 8:54 |
ButHe, hehowever, takingtook her by the hand, and called, saying, MaidenChild, arise.! |
| 8:55 |
And her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately:; and heHe commandedgave thatorders for something to be given her to eat. |
| 8:56 |
And her parents were amazed:; but heHe chargedinstructed them to tell no manone what had been donehappened. |
| 9:1 |
And heHe called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to cureheal diseases. |
| 9:2 |
And heHe sent them forthout to preachproclaim the kingdom of God, and to healperform the sickhealing. |
| 9:3 |
And heHe said untoto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor walleta bag, nor bread, nor money; neitherand do not even have two coatstunics apiece. |
| 9:4 |
And intowhatever whatsoever house yeyou enter, stay there abide, and thencetake departyour leave from there. |
| 9:5 |
And as manyfor asthose who do not receive you not, whenas yeyou departgo out from that city, shake off the dust from your feet foras a testimony against them. |
| 9:6 |
And departing, they departed, began andgoing wentabout throughoutamong the villages, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere. |
| 9:7 |
Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done:happening; and he was muchgreatly perplexed, because that it was said by some, that John washad risen from the dead;, |
| 9:8 |
and by some, that Elijah had appeared;, and by others, that one of the prophets of old prophetshad was risen again. |
| 9:9 |
And Herod said, I myself had John I beheaded:; but who is this, man about whom I hear such things? And he soughtkept trying to see himHim. |
| 9:10 |
And when the apostles returned, when they weregave returned,an declaredaccount untoto himHim whatof thingsall that they had done. And hetaking tookthem themwith Him, andHe withdrew apartby Himself to a city called Bethsaida. |
| 9:11 |
But the multitudes perceivingwere itaware of this and followed him:Him; and hewelcoming welcomed them, andHe spakebegan speaking to them ofabout the kingdom of God, and themcuring thatthose who had need of healing he cured. |
| 9:12 |
And the day began to weardecline, away; and the twelve came, and said untoto himHim, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countrycountryside roundand about, find andlodging lodge, and get provisions:something to eat; for here we are here in a desertdesolate place. |
| 9:13 |
But heHe said untoto them, GiveYou yegive them something to eat.! And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes;fish, exceptunless perhaps we should go and buy food for all thisthese people. |
| 9:14 |
For theythere were about five thousand men. And heHe said untoto hisHis disciples, MakeHave them sitrecline downto eat in companies, groups of about fifty each. |
| 9:15 |
And they did so, and madehad them all sit downrecline. |
| 9:16 |
And heHe took the five loaves and the two fishesfish, and looking up to heaven, heHe blessed them, and brake;broke them, and gavekept giving them to the disciples to set before the multitude. |
| 9:17 |
And they all ate, and were allsatisfied; filled: and therethe wasbroken takenpieces upwhich thatthey whichhad remainedleft over towere thempicked of broken piecesup, twelve baskets full. |
| 9:18 |
And it came toabout pass, that aswhile heHe was praying apartalone, the disciples were with him:Him, and heHe askedquestioned them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am? |
| 9:19 |
And they answeringanswered and said, John the Baptist;, butand others say, Elijah; andbut others, that one of the prophets of old prophetshas is risen again. |
| 9:20 |
And heHe said untoto them, But who do you say ye that I am? And Peter answeringanswered and said, The Christ of God. |
| 9:21 |
But heHe chargedwarned them, and commandedinstructed them not to tell this to no man;anyone, |
| 9:22 |
saying, The Son of manMan must suffer many things, and be rejected ofby the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day be raised up. |
| 9:23 |
And heHe saidwas untosaying to them all, If anyanyone manwishes wouldto come after meMe, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow meMe. |
| 9:24 |
For whosoeverwhoever wouldwishes to save his life shall lose it;, but whosoeverwhoever shallloses lose his life for myMy sake, he is the sameone shallwho will save it. |
| 9:25 |
For what is a man profited, if he gaingains the whole world, and loseloses or forfeitforfeits his own selfhimself? |
| 9:26 |
For whosoeverwhoever shallis be ashamed of meMe and ofMy my words, of him shallwill the Son of manMan be ashamed, when heHe comethcomes in hisHis own glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels. |
| 9:27 |
But I tellsay to you of a truthtruthfully, Therethere are some of themthose thatstanding stand here, who shall innot no wise taste of death, tilluntil they see the kingdom of God. |
| 9:28 |
And itsome came to pass about eight days after these sayings, it came about that heHe took withalong him Peter and John and James, and went up intoto the mountain to pray. |
| 9:29 |
And aswhile heHe was praying, the fashionappearance of hisHis countenanceface wasbecame altereddifferent, and hisHis raimentclothing became white and dazzlinggleaming. |
| 9:30 |
And behold, theretwo talkedmen were talking with himHim; twoand men, they who were Moses and Elijah;, |
| 9:31 |
who, appearedappearing in glory, andwere spakespeaking of hisHis deceasedeparture which heHe was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. |
| 9:32 |
Now Peter and theyhis thatcompanions werehad withbeen himovercome were heavy with sleep:; but when they were fully awake, they saw hisHis glory, and the two men thatstanding stood with himHim. |
| 9:33 |
And it came to passabout, as theythese were parting from himHim, Peter said untoto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here:; and let us make three tabernacles;: one for theeYou, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowingrealizing what he saidwas saying. |
| 9:34 |
And while he saidwas thesesaying thingsthis, there came a cloud, formed and overshadowedbegan to overshadow them:; and they fearedwere afraid as they entered into the cloud. |
| 9:35 |
And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is myMy Son, myMy chosen:Chosen hearOne; yelisten him.to Him! |
| 9:36 |
And when the voice camehad spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they heldkept their peacesilent, and toldreported to no manone in those days any of the things which they had seen. |
| 9:37 |
And it came toabout pass, on the next day, that when they werehad come down from the mountain, a great multitude met himHim. |
| 9:38 |
And behold, a man from the multitude criedshouted out, saying, Teacher, I beseechbeg theeYou to look uponat my son;, for he is minemy only child:boy, |
| 9:39 |
and behold, a spirit takethseizes him, and he suddenly criethscreams, out; and it teareththrows him thatinto hea foamethconvulsion with foaming at the mouth, and as it hardlymauls departeth from him, bruisingit scarcely leaves him sorely. |
| 9:40 |
And I besoughtbegged thyYour disciples to cast it out;, and they could not. |
| 9:41 |
And Jesus answered and said, O faithlessunbelieving and perverseperverted generation, how long shall I be with you, and bearput up with you? bringBring hitheryour thyson sonhere. |
| 9:42 |
And aswhile he was yetstill a comingapproaching, the demon dashed him downto the ground, and tarethrew him grievouslyinto a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. |
| 9:43 |
And they were all astonishedamazed at the majestygreatness of God. But while alleveryone werewas marvellingmarveling at all thethat thingsHe whichwas he diddoing, heHe said untoto hisHis disciples, |
| 9:44 |
Let these words sink into your ears:; for the Son of manMan shallis going to be delivered up into the hands of men. |
| 9:45 |
But they understooddid not understand this sayingstatement, and it was concealed from them, so that they shouldmight not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask himHim about this sayingstatement. |
| 9:46 |
And therean argument arose a reasoning among them, as to which of them wasmight be the greatest. |
| 9:47 |
But when Jesus, sawknowing thewhat reasoningthey ofwere thinking in their heart, he took a little child, and setstood him by hisHis side, |
| 9:48 |
and said untoto them, WhosoeverWhoever shallreceives receive this little child in myMy name receivethreceives me:Me; and whosoeverwhoever shallreceives receiveMe mereceives receivethHim himwho that sent me:Me; for he thatwho is least among you all, this is the sameone who is great. |
| 9:49 |
And John answered and said, Master, we saw onesomeone casting out demons in thyYour name; and we forbadetried to hinder him, because he followethdoes not follow along with us. |
| 9:50 |
But Jesus said untoto him, ForbidDo not hinder him; not: for he thatwho is not against you is for you. |
| 9:51 |
And it came to passabout, when the days were wellapproaching nighfor comeHis ascension, that heHe shouldresolutely be received up, he stedfastly set hisHis face to go to Jerusalem,; |
| 9:52 |
and He sent messengers beforeon hisahead face:of andHim. And they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make readyarrangements for himHim. |
| 9:53 |
And they did not receive himHim, because hisHe face was asjourneying thoughwith heHis wereface goingtoward to Jerusalem. |
| 9:54 |
And when hisHis disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wiltdo thouYou thatwant weus bidto command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them? |
| 9:55 |
But heHe turned, and rebuked them., and said, You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; |
| 9:56 |
for the Son of Man did not come to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went on to another village. |
| 9:57 |
And as they wentwere ongoing along the wayroad, asomeone certain man said untoto himHim, I will follow theeYou whithersoeverwherever thouYou goestgo. |
| 9:58 |
And Jesus said untoto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heavenair have nests;, but the Son of manMan hathhas notnowhere where to lay hisHis head. |
| 9:59 |
And heHe said untoto another, Follow meMe. But he said, Lord,Permit suffer me first to go and bury my father. |
| 9:60 |
But heHe said untoto him, LeaveAllow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go thou and publishproclaim abroadeverywhere the kingdom of God. |
| 9:61 |
And another also said, I will follow theeYou, Lord; but first sufferpermit me to bidsay farewellgood bye to themthose that are at my househome. |
| 9:62 |
But Jesus said untoto him, No manone, havingafter putputting his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. |
| 10:1 |
Now after thesethis things the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two and two beforeahead hisof faceHim intoto every city and place, whitherwhere heHe himselfHimself was aboutgoing to come. |
| 10:2 |
And heHe saidwas untosaying to them, The harvest indeed is plenteousplentiful, but the laborers are few:; praytherefore yebeseech therefore the Lord of the harvest, thatto he send forthout laborers into hisHis harvest. |
| 10:3 |
Go your ways; behold, I send you forthout as lambs in the midst of wolves. |
| 10:4 |
Carry no purse, no walletbag, no shoes; and salutegreet no manone on the way. |
| 10:5 |
And intowhatever whatsoever house yeyou shall enter, first say, Peace be to this house. |
| 10:6 |
And if a sonman of peace beis there, your peace shallwill rest upon him:; but if not, it shallwill turnreturn to you again. |
| 10:7 |
And stay in that same house remain, eating and drinking suchwhat things as they give: you; for the laborer is worthy of his hirewages. GoDo not keep moving from house to house. |
| 10:8 |
And intowhatever whatsoever city yeyou enter, and they receive you, eat suchwhat thingsis as are set before you:; |
| 10:9 |
and heal thethose sickin thatit who are thereinsick, and say untoto them, The kingdom of God ishas come nighnear untoto you. |
| 10:10 |
But intowhatever whatsoever city yeyou shall enter, and they do not receive you not, go out into theits streets thereof and say, |
| 10:11 |
Even the dust fromof your city, thatwhich cleavethclings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you:; neverthelessyet knowbe sure of this, that the kingdom of God ishas come nighnear. |
| 10:12 |
I say untoto you, Itit shallwill be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. |
| 10:13 |
Woe untoto theeyou, Chorazin! woeWoe untoto theeyou, Bethsaida! forFor if the mightymiracles works had been doneperformed in Tyre and Sidon, which wereoccurred done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. |
| 10:14 |
But it shallwill be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you. |
| 10:15 |
And thouyou, Capernaum, shaltwill thounot be exalted untoto heaven, will you? thouYou shaltwill be brought down untoto Hades.! |
| 10:16 |
HeThe thatone hearethwho listens to you hearethlistens me;to Me, and hethe thatone rejectethwho rejects you rejectethrejects meMe; and he thatwho rejectethrejects meMe rejectethrejects himthe thatOne who sent meMe. |
| 10:17 |
And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject untoto us in thyYour name. |
| 10:18 |
And heHe said untoto them, I beheldwas watching Satan fallenfall asfrom lightningheaven fromlike heavenlightning. |
| 10:19 |
Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:, and nothing shall ininjure any wise hurt you. |
| 10:20 |
Nevertheless indo thisnot rejoice notin this, that the spirits are subject untoto you;, but rejoice that your names are writtenrecorded in heaven. |
| 10:21 |
InAt that samevery hourtime heHe rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thankpraise theeThee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thouThou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, intelligent and didst reveal them untoto babes:. yeaYes, Father;, for sothus it was well pleasing in thyThy sight. |
| 10:22 |
All things have been deliveredhanded untoover meto ofMe myby My Father:, and no one knowethknows who the Son is, saveexcept the Father;, and who the Father is, saveexcept the Son, and heanyone to whomsoeverwhom the Son willethwills to reveal himHim. |
| 10:23 |
And turning to the disciples, heHe said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things thatyou ye see:, |
| 10:24 |
for I say untoto you, that many prophets and kings desiredwished to see the things which yeyou see, and sawdid not see them, not; and to hear the things which yeyou hear, and hearddid not hear them not. |
| 10:25 |
And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and madeput trialHim ofto himthe test, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? |
| 10:26 |
And heHe said untoto him, What is written in the lawLaw? howHow readestdoes thouit read to you? |
| 10:27 |
And he answeringanswered and said, ThouYou shaltshall love the Lord thyyour God with all thyyour heart, and with all thyyour soul, and with all thyyour strength, and with all thyyour mind; and thyyour neighbor as thyselfyourself. |
| 10:28 |
And heHe said untoto him, ThouYou hasthave answered right:correctly; do this do, and thouyou shaltwill live. |
| 10:29 |
But he,wishing desiring to justify himself, he said untoto Jesus, And who is my neighbor? |
| 10:30 |
Jesus madereplied answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, whoand boththey stripped him and beat him, and departed, went off leaving him half dead. |
| 10:31 |
And by chance a certain priest was going down on that way:road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. |
| 10:32 |
And inlikewise like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. |
| 10:33 |
But a certain Samaritan, aswho hewas journeyedon a journey, came whereupon hehim; was: and when he saw him, he wasfelt moved with compassion, |
| 10:34 |
and came to him, and boundbandaged up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine on them; and he setput him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. |
| 10:35 |
And on the morrownext day he took out two shillings, denarii and gave them to the host, innkeeper and said, Take care of him; and whatsoeverwhatever thoumore spendestyou morespend, I, when I comereturn, backI again, will repay theeyou. |
| 10:36 |
Which of these three, thinkestdo thou, you think proved to be a neighbor untoto himthe thatman who fell amonginto the robbers hands? |
| 10:37 |
And he said, HeThe thatone who showed mercy ontoward him. And Jesus said untoto him, Go, and do thouthe likewisesame. |
| 10:38 |
Now as they wentwere ontraveling their wayalong, heHe entered into a certain village:; and a certain woman named Martha receivedwelcomed himHim into her househome. |
| 10:39 |
And she had a sister called Mary, who alsomoreover satwas atlistening to the Lords feetword, andseated heardat hisHis wordfeet. |
| 10:40 |
But Martha was cumbereddistracted aboutwith muchall servingher preparations; and she came up to himHim, and said, Lord, dostdo thouYou not care that my sister didhas leaveleft me to servedo all the serving alone? bidThen tell her thereforeto that she help me. |
| 10:41 |
But the Lord answered and said untoto her, Martha, Martha, thouyou artare anxiousworried and troubledbothered about so many things:; |
| 10:42 |
but oneonly thinga isfew needful:things are necessary, really only one, for Mary hathhas chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. |
| 11:1 |
And it came toabout pass, that aswhile heHe was praying in a certain place, thatafter whenHe hehad ceasedfinished, one of hisHis disciples said untoto himHim, Lord, teach us to pray, evenjust as John also taught his disciples. |
| 11:2 |
And heHe said untoto them, When yeyou pray, say,: Father, Hallowedhallowed be thyThy name. Thy kingdom come. |
| 11:3 |
Give us dayeach by day our daily bread. |
| 11:4 |
And forgive us our sins;, forFor we ourselves also forgive everyeveryone onewho that is indebted to us. And bringlead us not into temptation. |
| 11:5 |
And heHe said untoto them, WhichSuppose one of you shall have a friend, and shall go untoto him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves; |
| 11:6 |
for a friend of mine ishas come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him; |
| 11:7 |
and he from withininside he shall answer and say, TroubleDo not bother me; not: the door ishas nowalready been shut, and my children areand withI meare in bed; I cannot riseget up and give thee?you anything. |
| 11:8 |
I saytell unto you, Thougheven though he will not riseget up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his importunitypersistence he will ariseget up and give him as manymuch as he needethneeds. |
| 11:9 |
And I say untoto you, Askask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and yeyou shall find; knock, and it shall be opened untoto you. |
| 11:10 |
For everyeveryone onewho thatasks, asketh receivethreceives; and he thatwho seekethseeks, findethfinds; and to him thatwho knockethknocks, it shall be opened. |
| 11:11 |
AndNow ofsuppose whichone of you thatfathers is aasked fatherby shall his son askfor a loaf, fish; and he will not give him a stone?snake orinstead of a fish, andwill he for a fish give him a serpent? |
| 11:12 |
Or if he shallis askasked for an egg, he will henot give him a scorpion, will he? |
| 11:13 |
If yeyou then, being evil, know how to give good gifts untoto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to themthose thatwho ask himHim? |
| 11:14 |
And heHe was casting out a demon, thatand it was dumb.; Andand it came toabout pass, that when the demon washad gone out, the dumb man spakespoke; and the multitudes marvelledmarveled. |
| 11:15 |
But some of them said, ByHe Beelzebubcasts theout princedemons ofby Beelzebul, the demonsruler castethof hethe out demons. |
| 11:16 |
And others, tryingto himtest Him, soughtwere demanding of himHim a sign from heaven. |
| 11:17 |
But he,He knowingknew their thoughts, and said untoto them, EveryAny kingdom divided against itself is broughtlaid to desolationwaste; and a house divided against aitself house fallethfalls. |
| 11:18 |
And if Satan also is divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? becauseFor yeyou say that I cast out demons by BeelzebubBeelzebul. |
| 11:19 |
And if I by BeelzebubBeelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? thereforeConsequently they shall they be your judges. |
| 11:20 |
But if I cast out demons by the finger of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God has come upon you. |
| 11:21 |
When thea strong man, fully armed, guardethguards his own courthomestead, his goodspossessions are in peace:undisturbed; |
| 11:22 |
but when asomeone stronger than he shallattacks come upon him, and overcomeoverpowers him, he takethtakes away from him all his whole armor whereinon which he trustedhad relied, and dividethdistributes his spoilsplunder. |
| 11:23 |
He thatwho is not with meMe is against meMe; and he thatwho gatherethdoes not gather with meMe, scatterethscatters. |
| 11:24 |
TheWhen the unclean spirit whengoes he is gone out of thea man, passethit passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and not finding noneany, heit saithsays, I will turnreturn backto unto my house whencefrom which I came out. |
| 11:25 |
And when heit is comecomes, heit findethfinds it swept and garnishedput in order. |
| 11:26 |
Then goethit he,goes and takethtakes toalong him seven other spirits more evil than himself;itself, and they entergo in and dwelllive there:; and the last state of that man becomethbecomes worse than the first. |
| 11:27 |
And it came toabout pass, while asHe he said these things, aone certainof womanthe outwomen ofin the multitudecrowd liftedraised up her voice, and said untoto himHim, Blessed is the womb that barebore theeYou, and the breasts at which thouYou didst sucknursed. |
| 11:28 |
But heHe said, YeaOn ratherthe contrary, blessed are theythose thatwho hear the word of God, and keepobserve it. |
| 11:29 |
And whenas the multitudescrowds were gathering together unto himincreasing, heHe began to say, This generation is ana evilwicked generation:; it seekethseeks afterfor a sign;, and thereyet shall no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah. |
| 11:30 |
For evenjust as Jonah became a sign untoto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of manMan be to this generation. |
| 11:31 |
The queenQueen of the southSouth shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, at the judgment and shall condemn them:, forbecause she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, asomething greater than Solomon is here. |
| 11:32 |
The men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, at the judgment and shall condemn it:, forbecause they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, asomething greater than Jonah is here. |
| 11:33 |
No manone, whenafter helighting hath lighted a lamp, puttethputs it away in a cellar, neithernor under thea bushelpeck measure, but on the standlampstand, in order that theythose whichwho enter in may see the light. |
| 11:34 |
The lamp of thyyour body is thineyour eye:; when thineyour eye is singleclear, thyyour whole body also is full of light; but when it is evilbad, thyyour body also is full of darkness. |
| 11:35 |
LookThen thereforewatch whetherout that the light thatin isyou inmay theenot be not darkness. |
| 11:36 |
If therefore thyyour whole body beis full of light, havingwith no dark part darkin it, it shall be wholly full of lightillumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its bright shining doth give thee lightrays. |
| 11:37 |
Now aswhen heHe spakehad spoken, a Pharisee askethasked himHim to dinehave lunch with him:; and heHe went in, and satreclined downat tothe meattable. |
| 11:38 |
And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelledwas surprised that heHe had not first bathedceremonially himselfwashed before dinnerthe meal. |
| 11:39 |
AndBut the Lord said untoto him, Now yeyou the Pharisees cleanseclean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but yourinside inwardof partyou, isyou are full of extortionrobbery and wickedness. |
| 11:40 |
YeYou foolish ones, did not heHe thatwho made the outside make the inside also? |
| 11:41 |
But give forthat alms those things which areis within; andas beholdcharity, and then all things are clean untofor you. |
| 11:42 |
But woe untoto you Pharisees! forFor yeyou pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and passyet overdisregard justice and the love of God:; but these oughtare yethe tothings you should have done, andwithout notneglecting to leave the other undoneothers. |
| 11:43 |
Woe untoto you Pharisees! forFor yeyou love the chieffront seats in the synagogues, and the salutationsrespectful greetings in the marketplacesmarket places. |
| 11:44 |
Woe untoto you! forFor yeyou are aslike theconcealed tombs which appear not, and the menpeople thatwho walk over them knoware unaware of it not. |
| 11:45 |
And one of the lawyers answeringsaid saithto untoHim himin reply, Teacher, inwhen sayingYou say this, thouYou reproachestinsult us alsotoo. |
| 11:46 |
AndBut heHe said, Woe untoto you lawyers alsoas well! forFor yeyou loadweigh men down with burdens grievoushard to be bornebear, andwhile yeyou yourselves touchwill not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers. |
| 11:47 |
Woe untoto you! forFor yeyou build the tombs of the prophets, and it was your fathers who killed them. |
| 11:48 |
SoConsequently, yeyou are witnesses and consentapprove unto the worksdeeds of your fathers:; forbecause it was they who killed them, and yeyou build their tombs. |
| 11:49 |
ThereforeFor this reason also said the wisdom of God said, I will send untoto them prophets and apostles;, and some of them they shallwill kill and some they will persecute;, |
| 11:50 |
in order that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed fromsince the foundation of the world, may be requiredcharged ofagainst this generation;, |
| 11:51 |
from the blood of Abel untoto the blood of ZachariahZechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary:house yeaof God; yes, I saytell unto you, it shall be requiredcharged ofagainst this generation. |
| 11:52 |
Woe untoto you lawyers! forFor yeyou tookhave taken away the key of knowledge:; yeyou entereddid not enter in yourselves, and themthose thatwho were entering in yeyou hindered. |
| 11:53 |
And when heHe wasleft come out from thencethere, the scribes and the Pharisees began to pressbe uponvery himhostile vehemently, and to provokequestion himHim toclosely speakon of many things;subjects, |
| 11:54 |
layingplotting waitagainst for himHim, to catch Him in something outHe ofmight his mouthsay. |
| 12:1 |
InUnder thethese mean timecircumstances, whenafter theso many thousands of the multitude werehad gathered together, insomuch that they trodwere stepping on one upon another, heHe began saying to sayHis unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. |
| 12:2 |
But there is nothing covered up, that shallwill not be revealed;, and hid, hidden that shallwill not be known. |
| 12:3 |
WhereforeAccordingly, whatsoeverwhatever yeyou have said in the darknessdark shall be heard in the light;, and what yeyou have spokenwhispered in the ear in the inner chambersrooms shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. |
| 12:4 |
And I say untoto you, myMy friends, Bedo not be afraid of themthose thatwho kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. |
| 12:5 |
But I will warn you whom yeto shall fear: Fearfear him,the One who after heHe hathhas killed hathhas powerauthority to cast into hell; yeayes, I saytell unto you, Fearfear him.Him! |
| 12:6 |
Are not five sparrows sold for two pencecents? andAnd yet not one of them is forgotten inbefore the sight of God. |
| 12:7 |
ButIndeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. FearDo not: yefear; you are of more value than many sparrows. |
| 12:8 |
And I say untoto you, Everyeveryone one who shallconfesses confessMe me before men, him shall the Son of manMan alsoshall confess him also before the angels of God:; |
| 12:9 |
but he thatwho deniethdenies meMe inbefore the presence of men shall be denied inbefore the presence of the angels of God. |
| 12:10 |
And everyeveryone one who shallwill speak a word against the Son of manMan, it shall be forgiven him:; but untohe himwho thatblasphemes blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him. |
| 12:11 |
And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, bedo not become anxious about how or what yeyou shallshould answerspeak in your defense, or what yeyou shallshould say:; |
| 12:12 |
for the Holy Spirit shallwill teach you in that very hour what yeyou ought to say. |
| 12:13 |
And onesomeone outin of the multitudecrowd said untoto himHim, Teacher, bidtell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me. |
| 12:14 |
But heHe said untoto him, Man, who madeappointed meMe a judge or aarbiter divider over you? |
| 12:15 |
And heHe said untoto them, Take heedBeware, and keepbe yourselveson fromyour allguard covetousness:against forevery aform mansof lifegreed; consistethfor not ineven thewhen one has an abundance ofdoes thehis thingslife whichconsist heof possessethhis possessions. |
| 12:16 |
And heHe spaketold them a parable unto them, saying, The groundland of a certain rich man broughtwas forthvery plentifully:productive. |
| 12:17 |
andAnd he reasonedbegan withinreasoning to himself, saying, What shall I do, becausesince I have notno whereplace to bestowstore my fruitscrops? |
| 12:18 |
And he said, This willis what I will do: I will pulltear down my barns, and build greater;larger ones, and there I will Istore bestow all my grain and my goods. |
| 12:19 |
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thouyou hasthave muchmany goods laid up for many years to come; take thineyour ease, eat, drink, and be merry. |
| 12:20 |
But God said untoto him, ThouYou foolishfool! one,This thisvery night isyour thy soul is required of theeyou; and thenow thingswho whichwill thouown hastwhat prepared, you whosehave shall they beprepared? |
| 12:21 |
So is hethe thatman layethwho lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. |
| 12:22 |
And heHe said untoto hisHis disciples, ThereforeFor this reason I say untoto you, Bedo not be anxious for your life, as to what yeyou shall eat; nor yet for your body, as to what yeyou shall put on. |
| 12:23 |
For the life is more than the food, and the body than the raimentclothing. |
| 12:24 |
Consider the ravens, thatfor they neither sow not,nor neither reap; whichand they have no storestoreroom chamber nor barn; and yet God feedethfeeds them:; of how much more valuevaluable you are ye than the birds! |
| 12:25 |
And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit untoto thehis measurelifes of his lifespan? |
| 12:26 |
If then yeyou arecannot not able to do even thata whichvery islittle leastthing, why are yeyou anxious concerningabout theother restmatters? |
| 12:27 |
Consider the lilies, how they grow:; they toil not, neither dotoil theynor spin; yetbut I saytell unto you, Eveneven Solomon in all his glory wasdid not arrayedclothe himself like one of these. |
| 12:28 |
But if God doth so clothearrays the grass in the field, which tois dayalive is,today and totomorrow morrow is castthrown into the oven;furnace, how much more shallwill heHe clothe you, O yemen of little faith?! |
| 12:29 |
And seekdo not yeseek what yeyou shall eat, and what yeyou shall drink, neitherand bedo yenot ofkeep doubtful mindworrying. |
| 12:30 |
For all these things do the nations of the world eagerly seek; after: but your Father knowethknows that yeyou have need of these things. |
| 12:31 |
YetBut seek yefor hisHis kingdom, and these things shall be added untoto you. |
| 12:32 |
FearDo not be afraid, little flock;, for ityour isFather yourhas Fatherschosen goodgladly pleasure to give you the kingdom. |
| 12:33 |
Sell thatyour whichpossessions ye have, and give almsto charity; make for yourselves purses which waxdo not oldwear out, aan unfailing treasure in the heavens that faileth notheaven, where no thief drawethcomes near, neithernor moth destroyethdestroys. |
| 12:35 |
LetBe yourdressed loinsin be girded aboutreadiness, and keep your lamps burning;alight. |
| 12:36 |
andAnd be yelike yourselvesmen likewho untoare menwaiting looking for their Lord, master when he shallreturns return from the marriagewedding feast;, so that, whenthey hemay comethimmediately andopen knocketh, the theydoor mayto straightwayhim openwhen untohe himcomes and knocks. |
| 12:37 |
Blessed are those servants, slaves whom the Lordmaster whenshall hefind comethon shallthe findalert watching:when verilyhe comes; truly I say untoto you, that he shallwill gird himself to serve, and makehave them sitrecline downat tothe meattable, and shallwill come up and servewait on them. |
| 12:38 |
AndWhether if he shallcomes come in the second watch, andor ifeven in the third, and findfinds them so, blessed are those servantsslaves. |
| 12:39 |
ButAnd knowbe sure of this, that if the masterhead of the house had known inat what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have leftallowed his house to be broken throughinto. |
| 12:40 |
BeYou yetoo, alsobe ready:; for inthe Son of Man is coming at an hour that yeyou thinkdo not the Son of man comethexpect. |
| 12:41 |
And Peter said, Lord, speakestare thouYou addressing this parable untoto us, or evento untoeveryone allelse as well? |
| 12:42 |
And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wisesensible steward, whom his Lordmaster shallwill setput overin charge of his householdservants, to give them their portionrations ofat foodthe inproper due seasontime? |
| 12:43 |
Blessed is that servant, slave whom his Lordmaster whenfinds heso comethdoing shallwhen findhe so doingcomes. |
| 12:44 |
OfTruly a truth I say untoto you, that he will setput him overin charge of all thathis he hathpossessions. |
| 12:45 |
But if that servantslave shallsays say in his heart, My Lordmaster delayethwill hisbe a long time in coming;, and shallbegins begin to beat the menservantsslaves, both men and the maidservantswomen, and to eat and drink, and toget be drunkendrunk; |
| 12:46 |
the Lordmaster of that servantslave shallwill come inon a day when he expectethdoes not expect him, and inat an hour when he knowethdoes not know, and shallwill cut him asunderin pieces, and appointassign hishim portiona place with the unfaithfulunbelievers. |
| 12:47 |
And that servant, slave who knew his Lordsmasters will, and madedid not get ready, noror didact accordingin toaccord with his will, shall bereceive beaten with many stripes;lashes, |
| 12:48 |
but hethe thatone knewwho did not know it, and didcommitted thingsdeeds worthy of stripesa flogging, shallwill bereceive beatenbut with few stripes. And tofrom whomsoevereveryone muchwho ishas been given, ofmuch him shall much be required:; and to whom they commitentrusted much, of him they will they ask all the more. |
| 12:49 |
I camehave come to cast fire upon the earth; and whathow do I desire, wish if it iswere already kindled?! |
| 12:50 |
But I have a baptism to beundergo, baptized with; and how amdistressed I straitenedam tilluntil it beis accomplished! |
| 12:51 |
ThinkDo yeyou suppose that I amcame come to givegrant peace inon the earth? I tell you, Nay;no, but rather division:; |
| 12:52 |
for therefrom shallnow beon fromfive henceforthmembers five in one househousehold will be divided, three against two, and two against three. |
| 12:53 |
They shallwill be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law. |
| 12:54 |
And heHe saidwas also saying to the multitudes also, When yeyou see a cloud rising in the west, straightwayimmediately yeyou say, ThereA comethshower ais shower;coming, and so it comethturns to passout. |
| 12:55 |
And when yeyou see a south wind blowing, yeyou say, ThereIt will be a scorchinghot heat;day, and it comethturns toout passthat way. |
| 12:56 |
YeYou hypocrites,! yeYou know how to interpretanalyze the faceappearance of the earth and the heaven;sky, but howwhy isdo ityou that ye know not howanalyze tothis interpretpresent this time? |
| 12:57 |
And why do you not even ofon yourselvesyour judgeown yeinitiative notjudge what is right? |
| 12:58 |
For aswhile thouyou artare going with thineyour adversaryopponent to appear before the magistrate, on theyour way givethere diligencemake an effort to besettle quitwith of him;, lestin haplyorder that he may not drag theeyou untobefore the judge, and the judge shallturn deliveryou theeover to the officerconstable, and the officerconstable shallthrow castyou thee into prison. |
| 12:59 |
I say untoto theeyou, Thouyou shaltshall bynot noget meansout comeof outthere thence, until tillyou thou have paid the very last mitecent. |
| 13:1 |
Now on the same occasion there were some present atwho thatreported veryto seasonHim whoabout told him of the GalilaeansGalileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. |
| 13:2 |
And heHe answered and said untoto them, ThinkDo yeyou suppose that these GalilaeansGalileans were greater sinners abovethan all theother GalilaeansGalileans, because they have suffered thesethis thingsfate? |
| 13:3 |
I tell you, Nay:no, but, exceptunless yeyou repent, yeyou shallwill all inlikewise like manner perish. |
| 13:4 |
Or do you suppose that those eighteen, uponon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, thinkwere yeworse thatculprits theythan were offenders above all the men thatwho dwelllive in Jerusalem? |
| 13:5 |
I tell you, Nay:no, but, exceptunless yeyou repent, yeyou shallwill all likewise perish. |
| 13:6 |
And heHe spakebegan telling this parable;: A certain man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came seekinglooking for fruit thereonon it, and founddid nonenot find any. |
| 13:7 |
And he said untoto the vinedresservineyard keeper, Behold, thesefor three years I have come seekinglooking for fruit on this fig tree, andwithout findfinding none:any. cutCut it down;! whyWhy dothdoes it alsoeven cumberuse up the ground? |
| 13:8 |
And he answeringanswered saithand untosaid to him, Lord,Let let it alone, sir, for this year alsotoo, tilluntil I shall dig aboutaround it, and dungput it:in fertilizer; |
| 13:9 |
and if it bearbears fruit thenceforthnext year, wellfine; but if not, thou shalt cut it down. |
| 13:10 |
And heHe was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath daySabbath. |
| 13:11 |
And behold, there was a woman thatwho for eighteen years had had a spiritsickness ofcaused infirmityby eighteena yearsspirit; and she was bowedbent togetherdouble, and could innot nostraighten wiseup liftat herself upall. |
| 13:12 |
And when Jesus saw her, heHe called her, over and said to her, Woman, thouyou artare loosedfreed from thineyour infirmitysickness. |
| 13:13 |
And heHe laid hisHis hands upon her:; and immediately she was made straighterect again, and glorifiedbegan glorifying God. |
| 13:14 |
And the rulersynagogue of the synagogueofficial, beingindignant moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbathSabbath, answeredbegan andsaying said to the multitude in response, There are six days in which menwork oughtshould tobe work:done; in them therefore come during them and beget healed, and not on the Sabbath day of the sabbath. |
| 13:15 |
But the Lord answered him, and said, YeYou hypocrites, dothdoes not each one of you on the sabbathSabbath looseuntie his ox or his assdonkey from the stall, and lead him away to wateringwater him? |
| 13:16 |
And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan hadhas bound, lo,for these eighteen long years, toshould she not have been loosedreleased from this bond on the Sabbath day of the sabbath? |
| 13:17 |
And as heHe said these thingsthis, all hisHis adversariesopponents were putbeing tohumiliated; shame: and all the entire multitude rejoicedwas forrejoicing over all the glorious things thatbeing were done by himHim. |
| 13:18 |
Therefore He saidwas thereforesaying, UntoWhat what is the kingdom of God like?, and whereuntoto what shall I likencompare it? |
| 13:19 |
It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and castthrew into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heavenair lodgednested in theits branches thereof. |
| 13:20 |
And again heHe said, WhereuntoTo what shall I likencompare the kingdom of God? |
| 13:21 |
It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measurespecks of meal, tilluntil it was all leavened. |
| 13:22 |
And heHe wentwas onpassing histhrough wayfrom throughone citiescity and villagesvillage to another, teaching, and journeyingproceeding on untoHis way to Jerusalem. |
| 13:23 |
And onesomeone said untoto himHim, Lord, are theythere just a few thatwho are being saved? And heHe said untoto them, |
| 13:24 |
Strive to enter in by the narrow door:; for many, I saytell unto you, shallwill seek to enter in, and shallwill not be able. |
| 13:25 |
WhenOnce once the masterhead of the house isgets risen up, and hathshuts shut to the door, and yeyou begin to stand without, outside and to knock aton the door, saying, Lord, open up to us;! andthen heHe shallwill answer and say to you, I knowdo you not whenceknow yewhere you are; from. |
| 13:26 |
thenThen shallyou yewill begin to say, We didate eat and drinkdrank in thyYour presence, and thouYou didsttaught teach in our streets; |
| 13:27 |
and heHe shallwill say, I tell you, I knowdo not whenceknow yewhere you are from; depart from meMe, all yeyou workers of iniquityevildoers. |
| 13:28 |
There shallwill be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth, there when yeyou shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, andbut yourselves being cast forth withoutout. |
| 13:29 |
And they shallwill come from the east and west, and from the north and south, and shallwill sitrecline downat the table in the kingdom of God. |
| 13:30 |
And behold, theresome are last who shallwill be first, and theresome are first who shallwill be last. |
| 13:31 |
InJust at that verytime hoursome therePharisees came certain Phariseesup, saying to himHim, GetGo theeaway out, and godepart hence:from here, for Herod wouldwants fainto kill theeYou. |
| 13:32 |
And heHe said untoto them, Go and saytell to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures totoday day and to morrowtomorrow, and the third day I amreach perfectedMy goal. |
| 13:33 |
Nevertheless I must gojourney on mytoday way to day and totomorrow morrow and the next day; following: for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outoutside of Jerusalem. |
| 13:34 |
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that killethkills the prophets, and stonethstones themthose that are sent untoto her! howHow often would I havewanted gatheredto thygather your children together, evenjust as a hen gatherethgathers her own brood under her wings, and yeyou would not have it! |
| 13:35 |
Behold, your house is left untoto you desolate:; and I say untoto you, Yeyou shall not see me,Me until yethe shalltime comes when you say, Blessed is heHe thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord.! |
| 14:1 |
And it came toabout pass, when heHe went into the house of one of the rulersleaders of the Pharisees on athe sabbathSabbath to eat bread, that they were watching himHim closely. |
| 14:2 |
And beholdthere, therein wasfront beforeof himHim was a certain man thatsuffering hadfrom the dropsy. |
| 14:3 |
And Jesus answeringanswered spakeand untospoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbathSabbath, or not? |
| 14:4 |
But they heldkept their peacesilent. And heHe took hold of him, and healed him, and letsent him goaway. |
| 14:5 |
And heHe said untoto them, Which one of you shall have ana assson or an ox fallenfall into a well, and will not straightwayimmediately drawpull him upout on a sabbathSabbath day? |
| 14:6 |
And they could notmake answerno againreply untoto these thingsthis. |
| 14:7 |
And heHe spakebegan speaking a parable untoto thosethe thatinvited wereguests bidden, when heHe markednoticed how they chosehad been picking out the chiefplaces seatsof honor at the table; saying untoto them, |
| 14:8 |
When thouyou artare biddeninvited ofby anysomeone man to a marriagewedding feast, sitdo not downtake in the chiefplace seat;of honor, lest haplysomeone a more honorabledistinguished man than thouyou bemay biddenhave ofbeen invited by him, |
| 14:9 |
and he thatwho badeinvited theeyou andboth him shall come and say to theeyou, Give place to this man, place; and then thouin shaltdisgrace beginyou withproceed shame to takeoccupy the lowestlast place. |
| 14:10 |
But when thouyou artare biddeninvited, go and sitrecline downat in the lowestlast place;, so that when hethe thatone hathwho biddenhas theeinvited comethyou comes, he may say to theeyou, Friend, gomove up higher:; then shaltyou thouwill have gloryhonor in the presencesight of all thatwho sitare at meatthe table with theeyou. |
| 14:11 |
For everyeveryone onewho thatexalts exalteth himself shall be humbled;, and he thatwho humblethhumbles himself shall be exalted. |
| 14:12 |
And heHe saidalso went on to himsay alsoto thatthe one who had biddeninvited himHim, When thouyou makestgive a dinnerluncheon or a supperdinner, calldo not thyinvite your friends, noror thyyour brethren, brothers noror thyyour kinsmen, relatives noror rich neighbors;, lest haply they also bidinvite theeyou againin return, and arepayment recompensecome beto made theeyou. |
| 14:13 |
But when thouyou makestgive a feastreception, bidinvite the poor, the maimedcrippled, the lame, the blind:, |
| 14:14 |
and thouyou shaltwill be blessed;, becausesince they havedo not wherewithhave the means to recompenserepay thee:you; for thouyou shaltwill be recompensedrepaid inat the resurrection of the justrighteous. |
| 14:15 |
And when one of themthose thatwho satwere reclining at meatthe table with himHim heard these thingsthis, he said untoto himHim, Blessed is heeveryone thatwho shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.! |
| 14:16 |
But heHe said untoto him, A certain man madewas giving a greatbig supper;dinner, and he badeinvited many:; |
| 14:17 |
and heat sentthe forthdinner hishour servanthe atsent supperhis timeslave to say to themthose thatwho werehad biddenbeen invited, Come; for alleverything thingsis areready now ready. |
| 14:18 |
AndBut they all withalike one consent began to make excuseexcuses. The first one said untoto him, I have bought a field, piece of land and I mustneed needsto go out and seelook at it; Iplease prayconsider thee have me excused. |
| 14:19 |
And another one said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I goam going to provetry them out; Iplease prayconsider thee have me excused. |
| 14:20 |
And another one said, I have married a wife, and thereforefor that reason I cannot come. |
| 14:21 |
And the servantslave came, back and toldreported histhis Lordto thesehis thingsmaster. Then the masterhead of the househousehold beingbecame angry and said to his servantslave, Go out quicklyat once into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hitherhere the poor and maimedcrippled and blind and lame. |
| 14:22 |
And the servantslave said, LordMaster, what thouyou didstcommanded commandhas isbeen done, and yetstill there is room. |
| 14:23 |
And the Lordmaster said untoto the servantslave, Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and constraincompel them to come in, that my house may be filled. |
| 14:24 |
For I saytell unto you, that none of those men thatwho were biddeninvited shall taste of my supperdinner. |
| 14:25 |
Now theregreat wentmultitudes withwere himgoing greatalong multitudes:with Him; and heHe turned, and said untoto them, |
| 14:26 |
If anyanyone mancomes comethto unto meMe, and hatethdoes not hate his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, brothers and sisters, yeayes, and even his own life also, he cannot be myMy disciple. |
| 14:27 |
WhosoeverWhoever dothdoes not bearcarry his own cross, and come after me,Me cannot be myMy disciple. |
| 14:28 |
For which one of you, desiringwhen he wants to build a tower, dothdoes not first sit down and countcalculate the cost, whetherto see if he havehas wherewithenough to complete it? |
| 14:29 |
Lest haplyOtherwise, when he hathhas laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all thatwho beholdobserve it begin to mockridicule him, |
| 14:30 |
saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. |
| 14:31 |
Or what king, aswhen he goethsets out to encountermeet another king in warbattle, will not first sit down first and take counsel whether he is ablestrong enough with ten thousand men to meetencounter himthe thatone comethcoming against him with twenty thousand? |
| 14:32 |
Or else, while the other is yetstill afar great way offaway, he sendethsends ana ambassage, delegation and askethasks conditionsterms of peace. |
| 14:33 |
So therefore, whosoeverno heone be of you thatcan renouncethbe notMy alldisciple thatwho hedoes hath, not hegive cannotup beall myhis discipleown possessions. |
| 14:34 |
SaltTherefore, thereforesalt is good:; but if even the salt havehas lostbecome its savortasteless, wherewithwith shallwhat will it be seasoned? |
| 14:35 |
It is fituseless neithereither for the landsoil noror for the dunghill:manure menpile; cast it is thrown out. He thatwho hathhas ears to hear, let him hear. |
| 15:1 |
Now all the publicanstax gatherers and the sinners were drawingcoming near untoHim himto listen to hear himHim. |
| 15:2 |
And both the Pharisees and the scribes murmuredbegan to grumble, saying, This man receivethreceives sinners, and eatetheats with them. |
| 15:3 |
And heHe spaketold unto them this parable, saying, |
| 15:4 |
What man ofamong you, havingif he has a hundred sheep, and havinghas lost one of them, dothdoes not leave the ninety and nine in the wildernessopen pasture, and go after thatthe one which is lost, until he findfinds it? |
| 15:5 |
And when he hathhas found it, he layethlays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. |
| 15:6 |
And when he comethcomes home, he callethcalls together his friends and his neighbors, saying untoto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.! |
| 15:7 |
I saytell unto you, that evenin sothe same way, there shallwill be more joy in heaven over one sinner thatwho repentethrepents, more than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance. |
| 15:8 |
Or what woman, havingif tenshe pieceshas often silver, ifcoins sheand loseloses one piececoin, dothdoes not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seeksearch diligentlycarefully until she findfinds it? |
| 15:9 |
And when she hathhas found it, she callethcalls together her friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the piececoin which I had lost.! |
| 15:10 |
EvenIn sothe same way, I saytell unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner thatwho repentethrepents. |
| 15:11 |
And heHe said, A certain man had two sons:; |
| 15:12 |
and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portionshare of thythe substanceestate that fallethfalls to me. And he divided untohis themwealth hisbetween livingthem. |
| 15:13 |
And not many days afterlater, the younger son gathered alleverything together and tookwent hison a journey into a fardistant country;, and there he wastedsquandered his substanceestate with riotousloose living. |
| 15:14 |
AndNow when he had spent alleverything, there arose a mightysevere famine occurred in that country;, and he began to be in wantneed. |
| 15:15 |
And he went and joinedattached himself to one of the citizens of that country;, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. |
| 15:16 |
And he wouldwas fainlonging haveto filledfill his bellystomach with the huskspods that the swine didwere eat:eating, and no manone gavewas untogiving anything to him. |
| 15:17 |
But when he came to himselfhis senses, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers hired men have breadmore than enough and to sparebread, andbut I perisham dying here with hunger! |
| 15:18 |
I will ariseget up and go to my father, and will say untoto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thyyour sight:; |
| 15:19 |
I am no morelonger worthy to be called thyyour son:; make me as one of thyyour hired servantsmen. |
| 15:20 |
And he arose, got up and came to his father. But while he was yetstill afara long way off, his father saw him, and wasfelt movedcompassion withfor compassionhim, and ran, and fellembraced on his neckhim, and kissed him. |
| 15:21 |
And the son said untoto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thyyour sight:; I am no morelonger worthy to be called thyyour son. |
| 15:22 |
But the father said to his servantsslaves, BringQuickly forthbring quicklyout the best robe, and put it on him;, and put a ring on his hand, and shoessandals on his feet:; |
| 15:23 |
and bring the fattedfattened calf, and kill it, and let us eat, and makebe merry:; |
| 15:24 |
for this my son of mine was dead, and ishas alivecome to life again; he was lost, and ishas been found. And they began to be merry. |
| 15:25 |
Now his elderolder son was in the field:, and aswhen he came and drewapproached nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. |
| 15:26 |
And he calledsummoned to him one of the servants, and inquiredbegan inquiring what these things might be. |
| 15:27 |
And he said untoto him, ThyYour brother ishas come;, and thyyour father hathhas killed the fattedfattened calf, because he hathhas received him back safe and sound. |
| 15:28 |
But he wasbecame angry, and wouldwas not willing to go in:; and his father came out, and entreatedbegan entreating him. |
| 15:29 |
But he answered and said to his father, Lo,Look! theseFor so many years do I servehave theebeen serving you, and I have never transgressedneglected a commandmentcommand of thineyours; and yet thouyou have never gavestgiven me a kid, that I might makebe merry with my friends:; |
| 15:30 |
but when this thy son of yours came, who hathhas devoured thyyour livingwealth with harlots, thouyou killedstkilled forthe himfattened thecalf fattedfor calfhim. |
| 15:31 |
And he said untoto him, SonMy child, thouyou arthave everalways been with me, and all that is mine is thineyours. |
| 15:32 |
But itwe washad meet to makebe merry and berejoice, glad: for this thy brother of yours was dead, and ishas alivebegun again;to live, and was lost, and ishas been found. |
| 16:1 |
AndNow heHe saidwas also untosaying to the disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward;, and thethis samesteward was accusedreported untoto him thatas hesquandering was wasting his goodspossessions. |
| 16:2 |
And he called him, and said untoto him, What is this that I hear ofabout theeyou? renderGive thean account of thyyour stewardship;, for thouyou canstcan be no longer be steward. |
| 16:3 |
And the steward said withinto himself, What shall I do, seeingsince that my Lordmaster takethis awaytaking the stewardship away from me? I haveam not strengthstrong enough to dig; to beg I am ashamed to beg. |
| 16:4 |
I amknow resolved what toI shall do, so that, when I am putremoved outfrom of the stewardship, they maywill receive me into their houseshomes. |
| 16:5 |
And callinghe tosummoned him each one of his Lordsmasters debtors, and he saidbegan saying to the first, How much owestdo thouyou untoowe my Lordmaster? |
| 16:6 |
And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said untoto him, Take thyyour bondbill, and sit down quickly and write fifty. |
| 16:7 |
Then he said he to another, And how much owestdo thouyou owe? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. He saithsaid untoto him, Take thyyour bondbill, and write fourscoreeighty. |
| 16:8 |
And his Lordmaster commendedpraised the unrighteous steward because he had doneacted wisely:shrewdly; for the sons of this worldage are formore shrewd in relation to their own generationkind wiser than the sons of the light. |
| 16:9 |
And I say untoto you, Makemake tofriends for yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall failfails, they may receive you into the eternal tabernaclesdwellings. |
| 16:10 |
He thatwho is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much:; and he thatwho is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. |
| 16:11 |
If therefore yeyou have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous mammon, who will commitentrust to your trust the true riches to you? |
| 16:12 |
And if yeyou have not been faithful in the use of that which is anothers, who will give you that which is your own? |
| 16:13 |
No servant can serve two masters:; for either he will hate the one, and love the other;, or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. YeYou cannot serve God and mammon. |
| 16:14 |
AndNow the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heardwere listening to all these things;, and they scoffedwere scoffing at himHim. |
| 16:15 |
And heHe said untoto them, YeYou are theythose thatwho justify yourselves in the sight of men;, but God knowethknows your hearts:; for that which is exaltedhighly esteemed among men is andetestable abomination in the sight of God. |
| 16:16 |
The lawLaw and the prophetsProphets were proclaimed until John:; fromsince thatthen time the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyeveryone manis enterethforcing violentlyhis way into it. |
| 16:17 |
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tittlestroke of a letter of the lawLaw to fallfail. |
| 16:18 |
EveryEveryone onewho thatdivorces putteth away his wife, and marriethmarries another, committethcommits adultery:; and he thatwho marriethmarries one thatwho is putdivorced away from a husband committethcommits adultery. |
| 16:19 |
Now there was a certain rich man, and he washabitually clotheddressed in purple and fine linen, faringgaily sumptuouslyliving in splendor every day:. |
| 16:20 |
andAnd a certain beggarpoor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, fullcovered ofwith sores, |
| 16:21 |
and desiringlonging to be fed with the crumbs thatwhich fellwere falling from the rich mans table; yeabesides, even the dogs camewere coming and lickedlicking his sores. |
| 16:22 |
AndNow it came toabout pass, that the beggarpoor man died, and that he was carried away by the angels intoto Abrahams bosom:; and the rich man also died, and was buried. |
| 16:23 |
And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in tormentstorment, and seethsaw Abraham afarfar offaway, and Lazarus in his bosom. |
| 16:24 |
And he cried out and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool off my tongue; for I am in anguishagony in this flame. |
| 16:25 |
But Abraham said, SonChild, remember that thouduring inyour thylife lifetimeyou receivedstreceived thyyour good things, and likewise Lazarus inbad like manner evil things:; but now here he is being comforted here, and thouyou artare in anguishagony. |
| 16:26 |
And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulfchasm fixed, thatin theyorder that wouldthose passwho wish to come over from hencehere to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from thencethere to us. |
| 16:27 |
And he said, Then I praybeg thee thereforeyou, fatherFather, that thouyou wouldest send him to my fathers house; |
| 16:28 |
for I have five brethren;brothers that he may testifywarn unto them, lest they also come intoto this place of torment. |
| 16:29 |
But Abraham saithsaid, They have Moses and the prophetsProphets; let them hear them. |
| 16:30 |
AndBut he said, NayNo, fatherFather Abraham:, but if onesomeone gogoes to them from the dead, they will repent.! |
| 16:31 |
AndBut he said untoto him, If they heardo not listen to Moses and the prophetsProphets, neither will they be persuaded, if onesomeone riserises from the dead. |
| 17:1 |
And heHe said untoto hisHis disciples, It is impossibleinevitable but that occasionsstumbling ofblocks stumbling should come;, but woe untoto him, through whom they come! |
| 17:2 |
It werewould wellbe better for him if a millstone were hangedhung aboutaround his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. |
| 17:3 |
TakeBe heedon toyour yourselves:guard! ifIf thyyour brother sinsins, rebuke him; and if he repentrepents, forgive him. |
| 17:4 |
And if he sinsins against theeyou seven times ina the day, and sevenreturns timesto turnyou againseven to theetimes, saying, I repent;, thou shalt forgive him. |
| 17:5 |
And the apostles said untoto the Lord, Increase our faith.! |
| 17:6 |
And the Lord said, If yeyou had faith aslike a grain of mustard seed, yeyou would say untoto this sycaminemulberry tree, Be thouuprooted rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you. |
| 17:7 |
But whowhich is there of you, having a servantslave plowing or keepingtending sheep, that will say untoto him, when he ishas come in from the field, Come straightwayimmediately and sit down to meat;eat? |
| 17:8 |
andBut will he not rather say untoto him, MakePrepare readysomething wherewithfor Ime mayto supeat, and girdproperly thyself, clothe yourself and serve me, tilluntil I have eaten and drunkendrunk; and afterward thouyou shaltwill eat and drink ? |
| 17:9 |
DothHe hedoes not thank the servantslave because he did the things thatwhich were commanded, does he? |
| 17:10 |
EvenSo soyou ye alsotoo, when yeyou shalldo have done all the things thatwhich are commanded you, say, We are unprofitableunworthy servantsslaves; we have done only that which itwe wasought ourto dutyhave to dodone. |
| 17:11 |
And it came toabout pass, while asHe theywas were on the way to Jerusalem, that heHe was passing alongbetween the borders of Samaria and Galilee. |
| 17:12 |
And as heHe entered into a certain village, thereten metleprous him ten men thatwho werestood lepers,at whoa stooddistance afarmet off:Him; |
| 17:13 |
and they liftedraised up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.! |
| 17:14 |
And when heHe saw them, heHe said untoto them, Go and show yourselves untoto the priests. And it came toabout pass, that as they wentwere going, they were cleansed. |
| 17:15 |
AndNow one of them, when he saw that he washad been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice glorifying God;, |
| 17:16 |
and he fell uponon his face at hisHis feet, giving him thanks: andto Him. And he was a Samaritan. |
| 17:17 |
And Jesus answeringanswered and said, Were there not the ten cleansed? butBut the nine where are the ninethey? |
| 17:18 |
WereWas thereno noneone found thatwho returnedturned back to give glory to God, saveexcept this strangerforeigner? |
| 17:19 |
And heHe said untoto him, AriseRise, and go thyyour way:; thyyour faith hathhas made theeyou wholewell. |
| 17:20 |
AndNow beinghaving askedbeen questioned by the Pharisees, as to when the kingdom of God comethwas coming, heHe answered them and said, The kingdom of God comethis not coming with observation:signs to be observed; |
| 17:21 |
neithernor shallwill they say, LoLook, here it is! or, There it is! forFor lobehold, the kingdom of God is withinin youyour midst. |
| 17:22 |
And heHe said untoto the disciples, The days willshall come, when yeyou shallwill desirelong to see one of the days of the Son of manMan, and yeyou shallwill not see it. |
| 17:23 |
And they shallwill say to you, Lo,Look there! Lo,Look here! goDo not go away, norand followdo not run after them:. |
| 17:24 |
forFor just as the lightning, when it lightenethflashes out of the one part underof the heavensky, shinethshines untoto the other part underof heaven;the sky, so shallwill the Son of manMan be in hisHis day. |
| 17:25 |
But first He must he suffer many things and be rejected ofby this generation. |
| 17:26 |
And just as it camehappened to pass in the days of Noah, even so it shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.Man: |
| 17:27 |
Theythey atewere eating, they drankwere drinking, they marriedwere marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. |
| 17:28 |
LikewiseIt evenwas asthe itsame cameas tohappened pass in the days of Lot;: they atewere eating, they drankwere drinking, they boughtwere buying, they soldwere selling, they plantedwere planting, they buildedwere building; |
| 17:29 |
but inon the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all:. |
| 17:30 |
afterIt thewill samebe mannerjust shallthe itsame beon in the day that the Son of manMan is revealed. |
| 17:31 |
InOn that day, helet thatnot shallthe beone who is on the housetop, and hiswhose goods are in the house, let him not go down to take them away:; and likewise let himnot thatthe one who is in the field likewiseturn not return back. |
| 17:33 |
WhosoeverWhoever shallseeks seek to gainkeep his life shall lose it:, butand whosoeverwhoever shallloses lose his life shall preserve it. |
| 17:34 |
I saytell unto you, Inon that night there shallwill be two men onin one bed; the one shallwill be taken, and the other shallwill be left. |
| 17:35 |
There shallwill be two women grinding together;at the same place; one shallwill be taken, and the other shallwill be left. |
| 17:37 |
And answering they answeringsaid sayto unto himHim, Where, Lord? And heHe said untoto them, Where the body is, thitherthere also will the eaglesvultures also be gathered together. |
| 18:1 |
AndNow heHe spakewas telling them a parable untoto themshow tothat theat endall thattimes they ought always to pray, and not to faint;lose heart, |
| 18:2 |
saying, There was in a certain city a judge, who feareddid not fear God, and regardeddid not respect man:. |
| 18:3 |
andAnd there was a widow in that city;, and she camekept oftcoming untoto him, saying, AvengeGive me oflegal mineprotection adversaryfrom my opponent. |
| 18:4 |
And he would not for a while: he was unwilling; but afterward he said withinto himself, ThoughEven though I feardo not fear God, nor regardrespect man;, |
| 18:5 |
yet because this widow troublethbothers me, I will avengegive her legal protection, lest by continually coming she wear me out by her continual coming. |
| 18:6 |
And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith.said; |
| 18:7 |
Andnow shall not God avengebring hisabout justice for His elect, thatwho cry to himHim day and night, and yetwill heHe isdelay longsufferinglong over them? |
| 18:8 |
I saytell unto you, that heHe will avengebring about justice for them speedily. NeverthelessHowever, when the Son of manMan comethcomes, shallwill heHe find faith on the earth? |
| 18:9 |
And heHe spake also told this parable untoto certain ones who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and setviewed all others atwith noughtcontempt: |
| 18:10 |
Two men went up into the temple to pray;, the one a Pharisee, and the other a publicantax gatherer. |
| 18:11 |
The Pharisee stood and prayedwas praying thus withto himself, God, I thank thee,Thee that I am not aslike theother restpeople: of menswindlers, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even aslike this publicantax gatherer. |
| 18:12 |
I fast twice ina the week; I givepay tithes of all that I get. |
| 18:13 |
But the publicantax gatherer, standing afarsome offdistance away, wouldwas noteven unwilling to lift up so much as his eyes untoto heaven, but smotewas beating his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me, athe sinner.! |
| 18:14 |
I saytell unto you, Thisthis man went down to his house justified rather than the other:; for everyeveryone onewho thatexalts exalteth himself shall be humbled;, but he thatwho humblethhumbles himself shall be exalted. |
| 18:15 |
And they were bringing untoeven himtheir alsobabies theirto babes,Him so that heHe shouldmight touch them:, but when the disciples saw it, they rebukedbegan rebuking them. |
| 18:16 |
But Jesus called for them unto him, saying, SufferPermit the little children to come untoto meMe, and forbiddo them not: forhinder tothem, suchfor belongeth the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. |
| 18:17 |
VerilyTruly I say untoto you, Whosoeverwhoever shalldoes not receive the kingdom of God aslike a little child, he shall innot noenter wiseit enterat thereinall. |
| 18:18 |
And a certain ruler askedquestioned himHim, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? |
| 18:19 |
And Jesus said untoto him, Why callestdo thouyou mecall Me good? noneNo one is good, saveexcept one,God even Godalone. |
| 18:20 |
ThouYou knowestknow the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not killmurder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thyyour father and mother. |
| 18:21 |
And he said, All these things I have Ikept observed from my youth up. |
| 18:22 |
And when Jesus heard itthis, heHe said untoto him, One thing thouyou lackeststill yet:lack; sell all that thouyou hastpossess, and distribute untoit to the poor, and thouyou shaltshall have treasure in heaven:; and come, follow meMe. |
| 18:23 |
But when he had heard these things, he became exceedingvery sorrowfulsad; for he was veryextremely rich. |
| 18:24 |
And Jesus seeinglooked at him and said, How hardlyhard shallit theyis thatfor havethose richeswho are wealthy to enter into the kingdom of God! |
| 18:25 |
For it is easier for a camel to entergo in through the eye of a needles eyeneedle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. |
| 18:26 |
And they thatwho heard it said, Then who can be saved? |
| 18:27 |
But heHe said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. |
| 18:28 |
And Peter said, LoBehold, we have left our own homes, and followed theeYou. |
| 18:29 |
And heHe said untoto them, VerilyTruly I say untoto you, Therethere is no manone thatwho hathhas left house, or wife, or brethren, brothers or parents, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of Gods sakeGod, |
| 18:30 |
who shall not receive manifoldmany moretimes inas much at this time, and in the worldage to come, eternal life. |
| 18:31 |
And heHe took unto him the twelve, aside and said untoto them, Behold, we goare going up to Jerusalem, and all the things thatwhich are written through the prophets shallabout be accomplished unto the Son of manMan will be accomplished. |
| 18:32 |
For heHe shallwill be delivered upto unto the Gentiles, and shallwill be mocked, and shamefullymistreated treated, and spit upon:, |
| 18:33 |
and after they shallhave scourgescourged andHim, they will kill him:Him; and the third day heHe shallwill rise again. |
| 18:34 |
And they understood none of these things;, and this saying was hidhidden from them, and they perceiveddid not comprehend the things that were said. |
| 18:35 |
And it came toabout pass, that as heHe drewwas nighapproaching unto Jericho, a certain blind man satwas sitting by the wayroad, side begging:. |
| 18:36 |
andNow hearing a multitude going by, he inquiredbegan to inquire what this meantmight be. |
| 18:37 |
And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passethwas passing by. |
| 18:38 |
And he criedcalled out, saying, Jesus, thouSon son of David, have mercy on me.! |

And Jesus said untoto him, Receive thyyour sight:; thyyour faith hathhas made theeyou wholewell. |
| 18:43 |
And immediately he receivedregained his sight, and followedbegan himfollowing Him, glorifying God:; and when all the people, when they saw it, they gave praise untoto God. |
| 19:1 |
And heHe entered and was passing through Jericho. |
| 19:2 |
And behold, there was a man called by the name Zacchaeusof Zaccheus; and he was a chief publicantax gatherer, and he was rich. |
| 19:3 |
And he soughtwas trying to see who Jesus whowas, and he was; andunable couldbecause notof for the crowd, becausefor he was littlesmall ofin stature. |
| 19:4 |
And he ran on before, ahead and climbed up into a sycomoresycamore tree in order to see him:Him, for heHe was about to pass through that way. |
| 19:5 |
And when Jesus came to the place, heHe looked up, and said untoto him, ZacchaeusZaccheus, makehurry haste, and come down;, for totoday day I must abidestay at thyyour house. |
| 19:6 |
And he madehurried haste, and came down, and received himHim joyfullygladly. |
| 19:7 |
And when they saw it, they all murmuredbegan to grumble, saying, He ishas gone in to lodgebe withthe guest of a man thatwho is a sinner. |
| 19:8 |
And ZacchaeusZaccheus stood, stopped and said untoto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goodspossessions I will give to the poor;, and if I have wrongfullydefrauded exactedanyone aught of any mananything, I restorewill fourfoldgive back four times as much. |
| 19:9 |
And Jesus said untoto him, ToToday daysalvation ishas salvation come to this house, forasmuchbecause as he, alsotoo, is a son of Abraham. |
| 19:10 |
For the Son of manMan camehas come to seek and to save that which was lost. |
| 19:11 |
And aswhile they heardwere listening to these things, heHe addedwent andon spaketo tell a parable, because heHe was nighnear to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was immediatelygoing to appear immediately. |
| 19:12 |
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went intoto a fardistant country, to receive a kingdom for himself a kingdom, and tothen return. |
| 19:13 |
And he called ten servants of his slaves, and gave them ten poundsminas, and said untoto them, TradeDo yebusiness herewithwith tillthis until I come back. |
| 19:14 |
But his citizens hated him, and sent ana ambassagedelegation after him, saying, We willdo not thatwant this man to reign over us. |
| 19:15 |
And it came toabout pass, that when he was come back againreturned, havingafter receivedreceiving the kingdom, that he commandedordered that these servantsslaves, untoto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, in order that he might know what business they had gained by tradingdone. |
| 19:16 |
And the first came before himappeared, saying, LordMaster, thyyour poundmina hathhas made ten poundsminas more. |
| 19:17 |
And he said untoto him, Well done, thou good servant:slave, because thouyou wasthave foundbeen faithful in a very little thing, havebe thouin authority over ten cities. |
| 19:18 |
And the second came, saying, ThyYour poundmina, Lordmaster, hathhas made five poundsminas. |
| 19:19 |
And he said untoto him also, BeAnd thouyou alsoare to be over five cities. |
| 19:20 |
And another came, saying, LordMaster, behold, hereyour is thy poundmina, which I kept laidput upaway in a napkin:handkerchief; |
| 19:21 |
for I fearedwas theeafraid of you, because thouyou artare an austereexacting man:; thouyou takesttake up thatwhat whichyou thoudid layedst not lay down, and reapestreap thatwhat whichyou thoudid didst not sow. |
| 19:22 |
He saithsaid untoto him, OutBy ofyour thine own mouthwords I will I judge theeyou, thouyou wickedworthless servantslave. ThouDid knewestyou know that I am an austereexacting man, taking up thatwhat which I laiddid not lay down, and reaping thatwhat which I did not sow;? |
| 19:23 |
thenThen whereforewhy gavestdid thouyou not myput the money intoin the bank, and Ihaving atcome, myI comingwould should have requiredcollected it with interest? |
| 19:24 |
And he said untoto themthe that stood bybystanders, Take the mina away from him the pound, and give it untoto himthe thatone hathwho has the ten poundsminas. |
| 19:25 |
And they said untoto him, LordMaster, he hathhas ten poundsminas already. |
| 19:26 |
I saytell unto you, that untoto everyeveryone onewho thathas hath shall more be given;, but from himthe thatone hathwho does not have, even thatwhat which he hathdoes have shall be taken away from him. |
| 19:27 |
But these enemies of mine enemies, thatwho woulddid not thatwant Ime shouldto reign over them, bring hither, them here and slay them beforein memy presence. |
| 19:28 |
And whenafter heHe had thussaid spokenthese things, heHe wentwas going on beforeahead, goingascending up to Jerusalem. |
| 19:29 |
And it came toabout pass, that when heHe drewapproached nigh unto Bethphage and Bethany, atnear the mount that is called Olivet, heHe sent two of the disciples, |
| 19:30 |
saying, Go your way into the village overopposite against you;, in which as yeyou enter yeyou shallwill find a colt tied, whereonon which no manone yet has ever yet sat:; looseuntie himit, and bring himit here. |
| 19:31 |
And if anyanyone oneasks ask you, Why doare yeyou looseuntying himit? thus shall yeyou sayspeak, The Lord hathhas need of himit. |
| 19:32 |
And theythose thatwho were sent went away, and found evenit just as heHe had saidtold unto them. |
| 19:33 |
And as they were loosinguntying the colt, theits owners thereof said untoto them, Why looseare yeyou untying the colt? |
| 19:34 |
And they said, The Lord hathhas need of himit. |
| 19:35 |
And they brought himit to Jesus:, and they threw their garments uponon the colt, and setput Jesus thereonon it. |
| 19:36 |
And as heHe wentwas going, they spreadwere spreading their garments in the wayroad. |
| 19:37 |
And as heHe was now drawing nighapproaching, evennear at the descent of the mountMount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the mightymiracles works which they had seen;, |
| 19:38 |
saying, Blessed is the King thatwho comethcomes in the name of the Lord:; peacePeace in heaven, and glory in the highest.! |
| 19:39 |
And some of the Pharisees fromin the multitude said untoto himHim, Teacher, rebuke thyYour disciples. |
| 19:40 |
And heHe answered and said, I tell you that, if these shallbecome hold their peacesilent, the stones will cry out.! |
| 19:41 |
And when heHe drew nighapproached, heHe saw the city and wept over it, |
| 19:42 |
saying, If thouyou hadsthad known in this day, even thouyou, the things which belongmake untofor peace! butBut now they arehave hidbeen hidden from thineyour eyes. |
| 19:43 |
For the days shall come upon thee, you when thineyour enemies shallwill castthrow up a bank aboutbefore theeyou, and compasssurround thee roundyou, and keephem theeyou in on every side, |
| 19:44 |
and shallwill dashlevel theeyou to the ground, and thyyour children within thee;you, and they shallwill not leave in theeyou one stone upon another;, because thouyou knewestdid not recognize the time of thyyour visitation. |
| 19:45 |
And heHe entered into the temple, and began to cast out themthose thatwho soldwere selling, |
| 19:46 |
saying untoto them, It is written, And myMy house shall be a house of prayer:, but yeyou have made it a robbers den of robbers. |
| 19:47 |
And heHe was teaching daily in the temple.; Butbut the chief priests and the scribes and the principalleading men ofamong the people soughtwere trying to destroy him:Him, |
| 19:48 |
and they could not find whatanything that they might do;, for all the people allwere hunghanging upon him,His listeningwords. |
| 20:1 |
And it came toabout pass, on one of the days, aswhile heHe was teaching the people in the temple, and preaching the gospel, therethat came upon him the chief priests and the scribes with the elders; confronted Him, |
| 20:2 |
and they spakespoke, saying untoto himHim, Tell us: Byby what authority doestYou thouare doing these things?, or who is hethe thatone who gave theeYou this authority? |
| 20:3 |
And heHe answered and said untoto them, I shall also will ask you a question;, and you tell meMe: |
| 20:4 |
TheWas the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? |
| 20:5 |
And they reasoned withamong themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven;, heHe will say, Why did yeyou not believe him? |
| 20:6 |
But if we shall say, From men;, all the people will stone us: to death, for they are persuadedconvinced that John was a prophet. |
| 20:7 |
And they answered, that they knewdid not whenceknow where it wascame from. |
| 20:8 |
And Jesus said untoto them, Neither tellwill I tell you by what authority I do these things. |
| 20:9 |
And heHe began to speaktell unto the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, and letrented it out to husbandmenvinegrowers, and went intoon anothera countryjourney for a long time. |
| 20:10 |
And at the seasonharvest time he sent untoa slave to the husbandmenvine a servantgrowers, in order that they shouldmight give him some of the fruitproduce of the vineyard:; but the husbandmenvine growers beat him, and sent him away empty handed. |
| 20:11 |
And he sentproceeded yetto send another servant:slave; and they beat him also they beat, and handledtreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty handed. |
| 20:12 |
And he sentproceeded yetto send a third:; and himthis one also they wounded, and cast him forthout. |
| 20:13 |
And the Lordowner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; itperhaps may be they will reverencerespect him. |
| 20:14 |
But when the husbandmenvine growers saw him, they reasoned with one with another, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. |
| 20:15 |
And they castthrew him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him. What, therefore, will the Lordowner of the vineyard do untoto them? |
| 20:16 |
He will come and destroy these husbandmen, vine growers and will give the vineyard untoto others. And when they heard it, they said, GodMay forbid.it never be! |
| 20:17 |
But heHe looked uponat them, and said, What then is this that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, TheThis samebecame was made the headchief ofcorner the cornerstone? |
| 20:18 |
EveryEveryone onewho thatfalls falleth on that stone shallwill be broken to pieces; but on whomsoeverwhomever it shall fallfalls, it will scatter him aslike dust. |
| 20:19 |
And the scribes and the chief priests soughttried to lay hands on himHim in that very hour;, and they feared the people:; for they perceivedunderstood that heHe spakespoke this parable against them. |
| 20:20 |
And they watched himHim, and sent forth spies, who feignedpretended themselves to be righteous, in order that they might takecatch holdHim ofin hissome speechstatement, so as to deliver himHim up to the rule and to the authority of the governor. |
| 20:21 |
And they askedquestioned himHim, saying, Teacher, we know that thouYou sayestspeak and teachestteach rightlycorrectly, and acceptestYou are not thepartial personto of any, but ofteach a truth teachest the way of God: in truth. |
| 20:22 |
Is it lawful for us to givepay tributetaxes untoto Caesar, or not? |
| 20:23 |
But heHe perceiveddetected their craftiness, trickery and said untoto them, |
| 20:24 |
Show meMe a denarius. Whose imagelikeness and superscriptioninscription hathdoes it have? And they said, Caesars. |
| 20:25 |
And heHe said untoto them, Then render untoto Caesar the things that are Caesars, and untoto God the things that are Gods. |
| 20:26 |
And they were notunable able to takecatch holdHim ofin thea saying beforein the presence of the people:; and theymarveling marvelled at hisHis answer, andthey heldbecame their peacesilent. |
| 20:27 |
AndNow there came to himHim certainsome of the Sadducees, theywho that say that there is no resurrection;, |
| 20:28 |
and they askedquestioned himHim, saying, Teacher, Moses wrote untofor us, that if a mans brother diedies, having a wife, and he beis childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up seedoffspring untoto his brother. |
| 20:29 |
ThereNow there were therefore seven brethren:brothers; and the first took a wife, and died childless; |
| 20:30 |
and the second: |
| 20:31 |
and the third took her; and likewisein the same way all seven alsodied, leftleaving no children, and died. |
| 20:32 |
AfterwardFinally the woman died also died. |
| 20:33 |
In the resurrection therefore, whosewhich ones wife ofwill them shall she be? forFor theall seven had her toas wife. |
| 20:34 |
And Jesus said untoto them, The sons of this worldage marry, and are given in marriage:, |
| 20:35 |
but theythose thatwho are accountedconsidered worthy to attain to that world, age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:; |
| 20:36 |
for neither can they die anyanymore, more: for they are equallike unto the angels;, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. |
| 20:37 |
But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the placepassage concerningabout the Bushburning bush, whenwhere he callethcalls the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. |
| 20:38 |
Now heHe is not the God of the dead, but of the living:; for all live untoto himHim. |
| 20:39 |
And certainsome of the scribes answeringanswered and said, Teacher, thouYou hasthave spoken well said. |
| 20:40 |
For they durstdid not anyhave morecourage askto himquestion Him any questionlonger about anything. |
| 20:41 |
And heHe said untoto them, How sayis theyit that they say the Christ is Davids son? |
| 20:42 |
For David himself saithsays in the book of Psalms, The Lord said untoto my Lord, Sit thouat onMy my right hand, |
| 20:43 |
TillUntil I make thineThine enemies thea footstool offor thyThy feet. |
| 20:44 |
David therefore callethcalls himHim Lord, and how is heHe his son? |
| 20:45 |
And inwhile the hearing of all the people hewere listening, He said untoto histhe disciples, |
| 20:46 |
Beware of the scribes, who desirelike to walk around in long robes, and love salutationsrespectful greetings in the marketplacesmarket places, and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places of honor at feasts;banquets, |
| 20:47 |
who devour widows houses, and for aappearances pretencesake makeoffer long prayers:; these shallwill receive greater condemnation. |
| 21:1 |
And heHe looked up, and saw the rich menputting that were casting their gifts into the treasury. |
| 21:2 |
And heHe saw a certain poor widow castingputting in thither two mitessmall copper coins. |
| 21:3 |
And heHe said, OfTruly a truth I say untoto you, Thisthis poor widow castput in more than theyall all:of them; |
| 21:4 |
for they all theseout did of their superfluitysurplus castput ininto unto the giftsoffering; but she out of her wantpoverty didput cast in all the living that she had to live on. |
| 21:5 |
And aswhile some spakewere oftalking about the temple, howthat it was adorned with goodlybeautiful stones and offeringsvotive gifts, heHe said, |
| 21:6 |
As for these things which yeyou beholdare looking at, the days will come, in which there shallwill not be left here one stone upon another, thatwhich shallwill not be throwntorn down. |
| 21:7 |
And they askedquestioned himHim, saying, Teacher, when therefore shallwill these things be? andAnd what shallwill be the sign when these things are about to cometake to passplace? |
| 21:8 |
And heHe said, TakeSee heedto it that yeyou be not ledmisled; astray: for many shallwill come in myMy name, saying, I am he;He, and, The time is at hand:; godo ye not go after them. |
| 21:9 |
And when yeyou shall hear of wars and tumultsdisturbances, bedo not be terrified:; for these things must needstake comeplace to pass first;, but the end isdoes not follow immediately. |
| 21:10 |
Then saidHe hecontinued untoby saying to them, Nation shallwill rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;, |
| 21:11 |
and there shallwill be great earthquakes, and in diversvarious places faminesplagues and pestilencesfamines; and there shallwill be terrors and great signs from heaven. |
| 21:12 |
But before all these things, they shallwill lay their hands on you, and shallwill persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for myMy names sake. |
| 21:13 |
It shallwill turnlead outto untoan youopportunity for ayour testimony. |
| 21:14 |
SettleSo itmake thereforeup in your hearts, minds not to meditateprepare beforehand how to answer:defend yourselves; |
| 21:15 |
for I will give you autterance mouth and wisdom, which allnone of your adversariesopponents shallwill not be able to withstandresist or to gainsayrefute. |
| 21:16 |
But yeyou shallwill be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, brothers and kinsfolk, relatives and friends;, and they will put some of you shall they cause to be put to death., |
| 21:17 |
Andand yeyou shallwill be hated ofby all menon foraccount myof namesMy sakename. |
| 21:18 |
AndYet not a hair of your head shallwill perish. |
| 21:19 |
InBy your patienceendurance yeyou shallwill wingain your soulslives. |
| 21:20 |
But when yeyou see Jerusalem compassedsurrounded withby armies, then knowrecognize that her desolation is at hand. |
| 21:21 |
Then let themthose thatwho are in JudaeaJudea flee untoto the mountains;, and let themthose thatwho are in the midst of herthe city depart, out; and let not themthose thatwho are in the country enter therein.the city; |
| 21:22 |
Forbecause these are days of vengeance, in order that all things which are written may be fulfilled. |
| 21:23 |
Woe untoto themthose thatwho are with child and to themthose thatwho givenurse suckbabes in those days!; for there shallwill be great distress upon the land, and wrath untoto this people., |
| 21:24 |
Andand they shallwill fall by the edge of the sword, and shallwill be led captive into all the nations:; and Jerusalem shallwill be troddentrampled downunder offoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. |
| 21:25 |
And there shallwill be signs in sun and moon and stars;, and upon the earth distressdismay ofamong nations, in perplexity forat the roaring of the sea and the billows;waves, |
| 21:26 |
men fainting forfrom fear, and forthe expectation of the things which are coming onupon the world:; for the powers of the heavens shallwill be shaken. |
| 21:27 |
And then shall they will see the Son of manMan coming in a cloud with power and great glory. |
| 21:28 |
But when these things begin to cometake to passplace, lookstraighten up, and lift up your heads;, because your redemption drawethis nighdrawing near. |
| 21:29 |
And heHe spaketold to them a parable: Behold the fig tree, and all the trees:; |
| 21:30 |
whenas soon as they nowput shootforth forthleaves, yeyou see it and know offor youryourselves own selves that the summer is now nighnear. |
| 21:31 |
Even so yeyou, alsotoo, when yeyou see these things coming to passhappening, knowrecognize ye that the kingdom of God is nighnear. |
| 21:32 |
VerilyTruly I say untoto you, Thisthis generation shallwill not pass away, tilluntil all things betake accomplishedplace. |
| 21:33 |
Heaven and earth shallwill pass away:, but myMy words shallwill not pass away. |
| 21:34 |
ButBe takeon heed to yourselvesguard, lestthat haply your hearts may not be overchargedweighted down with surfeiting, dissipation and drunkenness, and caresthe worries of this life, and that day come on you suddenly aslike a snare:trap; |
| 21:35 |
for soit shallwill it come upon all themthose thatwho dwell on the face of all the earth. |
| 21:36 |
But watchkeep yeon the alert at everyall seasontimes, makingpraying supplication,in order that yeyou may prevailhave strength to escape all these things that shallare comeabout to passtake place, and to stand before the Son of manMan. |
| 21:37 |
AndNow everyduring the day heHe was teaching in the temple;, andbut everyat nightevening heHe wentwould go out, and lodgedspend inthe night on the mount that is called Olivet. |
| 21:38 |
And all the people camewould get up early in the morning to himcome to Him in the temple, to hearlisten himto Him. |
| 22:1 |
Now the feastFeast of unleavenedUnleavened bread drew nighBread, which is called the Passover, was approaching. |
| 22:2 |
And the chief priests and the scribes soughtwere seeking how they might put himHim to death; for they fearedwere afraid of the people. |
| 22:3 |
And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, beingbelonging ofto the number of the twelve. |
| 22:4 |
And he went away, and communeddiscussed with the chief priests and captains, officers how he might deliverbetray himHim untoto them. |
| 22:5 |
And they were glad, and covenantedagreed to give him money. |
| 22:6 |
And he consented, and soughtbegan seeking a good opportunity to deliverbetray himHim untoto them inapart thefrom absence of the multitude. |
| 22:7 |
AndThen came the first day of unleavenedUnleavened breadBread came, on which the passoverPassover mustlamb had to be sacrificed. |
| 22:8 |
And heHe sent Peter and John, saying, Go and makeprepare readythe Passover for us the passover, that we may eat it. |
| 22:9 |
And they said untoto himHim, Where wiltdo thouYou thatwant weus maketo readyprepare it? |
| 22:10 |
And heHe said untoto them, Behold, when yeyou arehave entered into the city, therea shallman will meet you acarrying man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereintothat he goethenters. |
| 22:11 |
And yeyou shall say untoto the masterowner of the house, The Teacher saithsays untoto theeyou, Where is the guest chamber, room wherein which I shallmay eat the passoverPassover with myMy disciples? |
| 22:12 |
And he will show you a large, furnished, upper room; furnished:prepare it there make ready. |
| 22:13 |
And they went, departed and found everything just as heHe had saidtold unto them:; and they madeprepared ready the passoverPassover. |
| 22:14 |
And when the hour washad come, heHe satreclined downat the table, and the apostles with himHim. |
| 22:15 |
And heHe said untoto them, With desire I have earnestly desired to eat this passoverPassover with you before I suffer:; |
| 22:16 |
for I say untoto you, I shall notnever again eat it, until it beis fulfilled in the kingdom of God. |
| 22:17 |
And hewhen receivedHe had taken a cup, and when he had given thanks, heHe said, Take this, and divideshare it among yourselves:; |
| 22:18 |
for I say untoto you, I shallwill not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, from now on until the kingdom of God shall comecomes. |
| 22:19 |
And hewhen tookHe bread, had andtaken whensome hebread hadand given thanks, heHe brakebroke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is myMy body which is given for you:; do this do in remembrance of meMe. |
| 22:20 |
And in the cupsame inway likeHe mannertook the cup after supperthey had eaten, saying, This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in myMy blood, even that which is poured out for you. |
| 22:21 |
But behold, the hand of himthe thatone betrayethbetraying meMe is with meMe on the table. |
| 22:22 |
For indeed, the Son of manMan indeedis goeth, going as it hathhas been determined:; but woe untoto that man throughby whom heHe is betrayed! |
| 22:23 |
And they began to questiondiscuss among themselves, which one of them it might be who was thatgoing shouldto do this thing. |
| 22:24 |
And there arose also a contentiondispute among them, as to which one of them was accountedregarded to be greatest. |
| 22:25 |
And heHe said untoto them, The kings of the Gentiles haveLord Lordshipit over them; and theythose thatwho have authority over them are called Benefactors. |
| 22:26 |
But yenot shallso notwith beyou, so: but helet thathim who is the greatergreatest among you, let him become as the younger;youngest, and hethe thatleader is chief, as hethe that doth serveservant. |
| 22:27 |
For whichwho is greater, hethe thatone sittethwho reclines at meatthe table, or hethe thatone servethwho serves? isIs it not hethe thatone sittethwho reclines at meatthe table? butBut I am inamong the midst of you as hethe thatone servethwho serves. |
| 22:28 |
ButAnd yeyou are theythose thatwho have continuedstood withby meMe in myMy temptationstrials; |

but I madehave supplicationprayed for theeyou, that thyyour faith failmay not fail; and do thouyou, when once thouyou hasthave turned again, establishstrengthen thyyour brethrenbrothers. |
| 22:33 |
And he said untoto himHim, Lord, with theeYou I am ready to go both to prison and to death.! |
| 22:34 |
And heHe said, I tellsay theeto you, Peter, the cock shallwill not crow thistoday day, until thouyou shalthave thricedenied denythree times that thouyou knowestknow meMe. |
| 22:35 |
And heHe said untoto them, When I sent you forthout without purse, and wallet, bag and shoessandals, lackedyou yedid not lack anything, did you? And they said, NothingNo, nothing. |
| 22:36 |
And heHe said untoto them, But now, helet thathim hathwho has a purse, let him take it along, and likewise also a wallet;bag, and helet thathim hathwho none, has letno himsword sell his cloak, robe and buy a swordone. |
| 22:37 |
For I saytell unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in meMe, And heHe was reckonednumbered with transgressors:; for that which concernethrefers meto hathMe fulfilmenthas its fulfillment. |
| 22:38 |
And they said, Lord, beholdlook, here are two swords. And heHe said untoto them, It is enough. |
| 22:39 |

| 23:30 |
Then shall they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us;, and to the hills, Cover us. |

And theretwo wereothers also, twowho others, were malefactorscriminals, were being led withaway him to be put to death with Him. |

| 23:36 |
And the soldiers also mocked himHim, coming up to himHim, offering himHim vinegarsour wine, |

| 23:40 |
But the other answered, and rebuking him said, DostDo thouyou not even fear God, seeingsince thouyou artare inunder the same sentence of condemnation? |

And we indeed justly;, for we receiveare thereceiving duewhat rewardwe ofdeserve for our deeds:; but this man hathhas done nothing amisswrong. |
| 23:42 |
And he saidwas saying, Jesus, remember me when thouYou comestcome in thyYour kingdom.! |
| 23:43 |
And heHe said untoto him, VerilyTruly I say untoto theeyou, Totoday dayyou shaltshall thou be with meMe in Paradise. |
| 23:44 |
And it was now about the sixth hour, and a darkness camefell over the whole land until the ninth hour, |
| 23:45 |
the sunssun lightbeing failing:obscured; and the veil of the temple was renttorn in the midsttwo. |
| 23:46 |
And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into thyThy hands I commendcommit myMy spirit:. andAnd having said this, heHe gavebreathed upHis the ghostlast. |
| 23:47 |
AndNow when the centurion saw what washad donehappened, he glorifiedbegan praising God, saying, Certainly this man was a righteous maninnocent. |
| 23:48 |
And all the multitudes thatwho came together tofor this sightspectacle, when they beheldobserved thewhat thingshad thathappened, werebegan doneto return, returnedbeating smiting their breasts. |
| 23:49 |
And all hisHis acquaintance, acquaintances and the women thatwho followedaccompanied withHim him from Galilee, stoodwere afarstanding offat a distance, seeing these things. |
| 23:50 |
And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a councillormember of the Council, a good and righteous man |
| 23:51 |
he had not consented to their counselplan and deedaction, a man offrom ArimathaeaArimathea, a city of the Jews, who was lookingwaiting for the kingdom of God:; |
| 23:52 |
this man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. |
| 23:53 |
And he took it down, and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid himHim in a tomb thatcut wasinto hewnthe in stonerock, where neverno manone had yetever lain. |
| 23:54 |
And it was the preparation day, ofand the Preparation,Sabbath andwas theabout sabbathto drew onbegin. |
| 23:55 |
AndNow the women, who had come with himHim out of Galilee, followed after, and beheldsaw the tomb, and how hisHis body was laid. |
| 23:56 |
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointmentsperfumes. And on the sabbathSabbath they rested according to the commandment. |
| 24:1 |
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came untoto the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. |
| 24:2 |
And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb., |
| 24:3 |
Andbut when they entered in, andthey founddid not find the body of the Lord Jesus. |
| 24:4 |
And it camehappened tothat pass, while they were perplexed thereaboutabout this, behold, two men suddenly stood bynear them in dazzling apparel:; |
| 24:5 |
and as theythe women were affrightedterrified and bowed down their faces to the earthground, theythe men said untoto them, Why do you seek ye the living One among the dead? |
| 24:6 |
He is not here, but isHe has risen:. rememberRemember how heHe spakespoke untoto you whenwhile heHe was yetstill in Galilee, |
| 24:7 |
saying that the Son of manMan must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. |
| 24:8 |
And they remembered hisHis words, |
| 24:9 |
and returned from the tomb, and toldreported all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. |
| 24:10 |
Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James:; andalso the other women with them toldwere telling these things untoto the apostles. |
| 24:11 |
And these words appeared into theirthem sight as idlenonsense, talk; and they disbelievedwould not believe them. |
| 24:12 |
But Peter arose, and ran untoto the tomb; and stooping and looking in, he seethsaw the linen clothswrappings by themselvesonly; and he departedwent away to his home, wonderingmarveling at that which washad come to passhappened. |
| 24:13 |
And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was threescoreabout furlongsseven miles from Jerusalem. |
| 24:14 |
And they communedwere conversing with each other ofabout all these things which had happenedtaken place. |
| 24:15 |
And it came toabout pass, that while they communedwere conversing and questioned togetherdiscussing, that Jesus himselfHimself drew nearapproached, and wentbegan traveling with them. |
| 24:16 |
But their eyes were holdenprevented thatfrom theyrecognizing should not know himHim. |
| 24:17 |
And heHe said untoto them, What communications are these words that yeyou haveare oneexchanging with one another, as yeyou walkare walking? And they stood still, looking sad. |
| 24:18 |
And one of them, named Cleopas, answeringanswered and said untoto himHim, DostAre thouYou alonethe sojournonly inone visiting Jerusalem and notunaware knowof the things which arehave comehappened tohere pass there in these days? |
| 24:19 |
And heHe said untoto them, What things? And they said untoto himHim, The things concerningabout Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word beforein the sight of God and all the people:, |
| 24:20 |
and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered himHim up to bethe condemnedsentence toof death, and crucified himHim. |
| 24:21 |
But we hopedwere hoping that it was heHe who shouldwas going to redeem Israel. YeaIndeed, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things came to passhappened. |
| 24:22 |
MoreoverBut certainalso some women ofamong ourus company amazed us,. havingWhen beenthey earlywere at the tomb; early in the morning, |
| 24:23 |
and whendid theynot foundfind notHis his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that heHe was alive. |
| 24:24 |
And certainsome of themthose thatwho were with us went to the tomb, and found it evenjust soexactly as the women also had said:; but himHim they sawdid not see. |
| 24:25 |
And heHe said untoto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! |
| 24:26 |
BehoovedWas it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into hisHis glory? |
| 24:27 |
And beginning fromwith Moses and fromwith all the prophets, heHe interpretedexplained to them inthe allthings theconcerning scripturesHimself thein thingsall concerningthe himselfScriptures. |
| 24:28 |
And they drewapproached nigh unto the village, whitherwhere they were going:, and heHe madeacted as though heHe would go furtherfarther. |
| 24:29 |
And they constrainedurged himHim, saying, AbideStay with us;, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now farnearly spentover. And heHe went in to abidestay with them. |
| 24:30 |
And it came toabout pass, that when heHe had satreclined downat the table with them to meat, heHe took the bread and blessed; it, and breaking it, heHe gavebegan giving it to them. |
| 24:31 |
And their eyes were opened, and they knewrecognized himHim; and heHe vanished outfrom of their sight. |
| 24:32 |
And they said to one to another, WasWere not our hearthearts burning within us, while heHe spakewas speaking to us inon the wayroad, while heHe openedwas explaining the Scriptures to us the scriptures? |
| 24:33 |
And they rosearose up that very hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven gathered together, and themthose thatwho were with them, |
| 24:34 |
saying, The Lord ishas really risen indeed, and hathhas appeared to Simon. |
| 24:35 |
And they rehearsedbegan theto thingsrelate thattheir happenedexperiences inon the way, road and how heHe was knownrecognized ofby them in the breaking of the bread. |
| 24:36 |
And aswhile they spakewere telling these things, heHe himselfHimself stood in thetheir midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. |
| 24:37 |
But they were terrifiedstartled and affrighted, frightened and supposedthought that they beheldwere seeing a spirit. |
| 24:38 |
And heHe said untoto them, Why are yeyou troubled?, and whereforewhy do questioningsdoubts arise in your hearthearts? |
| 24:39 |
See myMy hands and myMy feet, that it is I myself:Myself; handletouch me,Me and see;, for a spirit hathdoes not have flesh and bones, as yeyou beholdsee methat havingI have. |
| 24:40 |
And when heHe had said this, heHe showed them hisHis hands and hisHis feet. |
| 24:41 |
And while they still disbelievedcould not believe it for joy, and wonderedwere marveling, heHe said untoto them, Have yeyou anything here anything to eat? |
| 24:42 |
And they gave himHim a piece of a broiled fish.; |
| 24:43 |
Andand heHe took it, and ate it before them. |
| 24:44 |
AndNow heHe said untoto them, These are myMy words which I spakespoke untoto you, while I was yetstill with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written about Me in the lawLaw of Moses, and the prophets,Prophets and the psalms,Psalms concerningmust mebe fulfilled. |
| 24:45 |
Then He opened he their mind, minds thatto they might understand the scriptures;Scriptures, |
| 24:46 |
and heHe said untoto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day; |
| 24:47 |
and that repentance andfor remissionforgiveness of sins should be preachedproclaimed in hisHis name untoto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. |
| 24:48 |
YeYou are witnesses of these things. |
| 24:49 |
And behold, I sendam sending forth the promise of myMy Father upon you:; but tarryyou yeare to stay in the city, until yeyou beare clothed with power from on high. |
| 24:50 |
And heHe led them out untilas theyfar wereas over against Bethany:, and heHe lifted up hisHis hands, and blessed them. |
| 24:51 |
And it came toabout pass, that while heHe blessedwas blessing them, heHe parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. |
| 24:52 |
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:, |
| 24:53 |
and were continually in the temple, blessingpraising God. |
