When Jehovahthe spakeLord atfirst thespoke firstthrough by Hosea, Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Hosea, Go, take untoto theeyourself a wife of whoredomharlotry, and have children of whoredomharlotry; for the land dothcommits commitflagrant great whoredomharlotry, departingforsaking fromthe JehovahLord. |
| 1:3 |
So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim;, and she conceived, and barebore him a son. |
| 1:4 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto him, CallName hishim name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avengepunish the bloodhouse of JezreelJehu uponfor the housebloodshed of JehuJezreel, and I will causeput an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease. |
| 1:5 |
And it shallwill come toabout passon at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel. |
| 1:6 |
AndThen she conceived again, and baregave birth to a daughter. And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto him, CallName her nameLoruhamah, Lo ruhamah; for I will no morelonger have mercycompassion uponon the house of Israel, that I should inever anyforgive wise pardon them. |
| 1:7 |
But I will have mercycompassion uponon the house of Judah, and willdeliver save them by Jehovahthe Lord their God, and will not savedeliver them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, noror by horsemen. |
| 1:8 |
NowWhen when she had weaned Lo ruhamah, she conceived, and baregave birth to a son. |
| 1:9 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said, CallName hishim name Lo ammi;, for yeyou are not myMy people, and I willam not be your God. |
| 1:10 |
Yet the number of the childrensons of Israel shallWill be aslike the sand of the sea, whichWhich cannot be measured noror numbered; andAnd it shallwill come toabout pass that, in the place whereWhere it wasis said untoto them, YeYou are not myMy people, itIt shallwill be said untoto them, YeYou are the sons of the living God. |
| 1:11 |
And the childrensons of Judah and the childrensons of Israel shallwill be gathered together, andAnd they shallwill appoint for themselves one headleader, andAnd shallthey will go up from the land;, forFor great shallwill be the day of Jezreel. |
| 2:1 |
Say yeto unto your brethrenbrothers, Ammi;, and to your sisters, Ruhamah. |
| 2:2 |
Contend with your mother, contend;, forFor she is not my wife, neitherand I am Inot her husband; andAnd let her put away her whoredomsharlotry from her face, andAnd her adulteriesadultery from between her breasts;, |
| 2:3 |
lestLest I strip her naked, andAnd setexpose her as inon the day thatwhen she was born,. andI will also make her aslike a wilderness, andMake set her like adesert dry land, andAnd slay her with thirst. |
| 2:4 |
YeaAlso, uponI her children will I have no mercy;compassion foron her children, Because they are children of whoredom;harlotry. |
| 2:5 |
forFor their mother hathhas played the harlot; sheShe thatwho conceived them hathhas doneacted shamefully;. forFor she said, I will go after my lovers, thatWho give me my bread and my water, myMy wool and my flax, minemy oil and my drink. |
| 2:6 |
Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thyher way with thorns, andAnd I will build a wall against her, so that she shallcannot not find her paths. |
| 2:7 |
And she shallwill followpursue after her lovers, but she shallwill not overtake them; andAnd she shallwill seek them, but shallwill not find them:. thenThen shall she will say, I will go andback return to my first husband;, forFor thenit was it better withfor me then than now.! |
| 2:8 |
For she diddoes not know that it was I who gave her the grain, and the new wine, and the oil, andAnd multipliedlavished untoon her silver and gold, whichWhich they used for Baal. |
| 2:9 |
Therefore, I will I take back myMy grain inat theharvest time thereof,And andMy my new wine in theits season. thereof,I and will pluckalso take away myMy wool and myMy flax whichGiven shouldto havecover covered her nakedness. |
| 2:10 |

| 2:11 |
I will also causeput allan herend mirth to cease, all her gaiety, Her feasts, her new moons, and her sabbaths, andAnd all her solemnfestal assemblies. |
| 2:12 |
And I will laydestroy waste her vines and her fig trees, whereofOf which she hath said, These are my hirewages thatWhich my lovers have given me;. andAnd I will make them a forest, andAnd the beasts of the field shallwill eatdevour them. |
| 2:13 |
And I will visitpunish upon her for the days of the Baalim,Baals untoWhen which she burnedused incense,to whenoffer shesacrifices deckedto them And adorn herself with her earearrings rings and her jewelsjewelry, andAnd wentfollow after her lovers, andso forgatthat meshe forgot Me, saithdeclares Jehovahthe Lord. |
| 2:14 |
Therefore, behold, I will allure her, andBring bring her into the wilderness, andAnd speak comfortablykindly untoto her. |
| 2:15 |
AndThen I will give her her vineyards from thencethere, andAnd the valley of Achor foras a door of hope;. andAnd she shallwill makesing answer there, as in the days of her youth, andAs as in the day when she came up outfrom of the land of Egypt. |
| 2:16 |
And it shallwill become atabout in that day, saithdeclares Jehovahthe Lord, thatThat thouyou shaltwill call meMe Ishi, andAnd shaltwill callno melonger nocall moreMe Baali. |

For I will takeremove away the names of the BaalimBaals outfrom of her mouth, andSo that they shallwill no more be mentioned by their namenames no more. |
| 2:18 |
AndIn in that day I will Ialso make a covenant for them withWith the beasts of the field, andThe with the birds of the heavenssky, andAnd with the creeping things of the ground:. andAnd I will breakabolish the bow, and the sword, and thewar battlefrom out of the land, andAnd will make them to lie down safelyin safety. |
| 2:19 |
And I will betroth theeyou untoto meMe for everforever; yeaYes, I will betroth theeyou untoto meMe in righteousness, and in justice, andIn in lovingkindness, and in mercies.compassion, |
| 2:20 |
And I will even betroth theeyou untoto meMe in faithfulness;. andThen thouyou shaltwill know Jehovahthe Lord. |
| 2:21 |
And it shallwill come toabout pass in that day, that I will answerrespond, saithdeclares Jehovah, the Lord. I will answerrespond to the heavens, and they shallwill answerrespond to the earth;, |
| 2:22 |
andAnd the earth shallwill answerrespond to the grain, andto the new wine, and to the oil;, andAnd they shallwill answerrespond to Jezreel. |
| 2:23 |
And I will sow her untofor meMyself in the earth;land. and I will also have mercycompassion uponon her thatwho had not obtained mercy;compassion, andAnd I will say to themthose thatwho were not myMy people, ThouYou artare myMy people;! andAnd they shallwill say, Thou art my God.! |
| 3:1 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, Go again, love a woman belovedwho ofis loved by her friendhusband, andyet an adulteress, even as Jehovahthe lovethLord loves the childrensons of Israel, though they turn untoto other gods, and love raisin cakes of raisins. |
| 3:2 |
So I bought her tofor memyself for fifteen piecesshekels of silver, and a homer of barley, and a half homer of barley;. |
| 3:3 |
andThen I said untoto her, ThouYou shaltshall abidestay forwith me for many days;. thouYou shaltshall not play the harlot, andnor thoushall shaltyou nothave bea anyman; mansso wife:I so will I also be toward theeyou. |
| 3:4 |
For the childrensons of Israel shallwill abideremain for many days without king, andor without prince, and without sacrifice, andor withoutsacred pillar, and without ephod or teraphim:household idols. |
| 3:5 |
afterwardAfterward shall the childrensons of Israel will return, and seek Jehovahthe Lord their God, and David their king,; and shallthey will come withtrembling fearto untothe JehovahLord and to hisHis goodness in the latterlast days. |
| 4:1 |
HearListen to the word of Jehovahthe Lord, yeO childrensons of Israel;, forFor Jehovahthe hathLord has a controversycase withagainst the inhabitants of the land, becauseBecause there is no truth, faithfulness noror goodness, kindness norOr knowledge of God in the land. |
| 4:2 |
There is nought but swearing, and breaking faithdeception, and killingmurder, and stealing, and committing adultery;. theyThey breakemploy outviolence, andso bloodthat touchethbloodshed bloodfollows bloodshed. |
| 4:3 |
Therefore shall the land mournmourns, andAnd everyeveryone onewho thatlives dwellethin thereinit shalllanguishes languish,Along with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavenssky; yea,And also the fishesfish of the sea also shall be taken awaydisappear. |
| 4:4 |
Yet let no manone strivefind fault, neitherand let anynone manoffer reprovereproof; forFor thyyour people are aslike theythose thatwho strivecontend with the priest. |
| 4:5 |
AndSo thouyou shaltwill stumble inby the day, andAnd the prophet also shallwill stumble with theeyou inby the night; andAnd I will destroy thyyour mother. |
| 4:6 |
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:. becauseBecause thouyou hasthave rejected knowledge, I also will also reject thee, you thatfrom thoubeing shaltMy be no priest. toSince me:you seeinghave thou hast forgotten the law of thyyour God, I also will forget thyyour children. |
| 4:7 |
AsThe more they were multiplied, sothe more they sinned against me:Me; I will change their glory into shame. |
| 4:8 |
They feed on the sin of myMy people, andAnd setdirect their heartdesire ontoward their iniquity. |
| 4:9 |
And it shallwill be, like people, like priest; andSo I will punish them for their ways, andAnd willrepay requite them for their doingsdeeds. |
| 4:10 |
And they shallwill eat, andbut not have enough; theyThey shallwill play the harlot, andbut shall not increase;, becauseBecause they have leftstopped offgiving taking heed to Jehovahthe Lord. |
| 4:11 |
WhoredomHarlotry, and wine, and new wine take away the understanding. |
| 4:12 |
My people askconsult counseltheir atwooden their stockidol, and their staffdiviners declarethwand untoinforms them; forFor thea spirit of whoredomharlotry hathhas causedled them to errastray, andAnd they have played the harlot, departing from under their God. |
| 4:13 |
They sacrificeoffer uponsacrifices on the tops of the mountains, andAnd burn incense uponon the hills, underUnder oaksoak, andpoplar, poplars and terebinthsterebinth, becauseBecause thetheir shadowshade thereof is good:pleasant. thereforeTherefore your daughters play the harlot, andAnd your brides commit adultery. |
| 4:14 |
I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, norOr your brides when they commit adultery;, forFor the men themselves go apart with harlots, andAnd theyoffer sacrificesacrifices with thetemple prostitutes; andSo the people thatwithout dothunderstanding notare understand shall be overthrownruined. |
| 4:15 |
Though thouyou, Israel, play the harlot, yetDo not let not Judah offendbecome guilty; andAlso comedo not yego untoto Gilgal, neitherOr go ye up to Beth aven, norAnd swear, take the oath: As Jehovahthe liveth.Lord lives! |
| 4:16 |
ForSince Israel hathis behavedstubborn himselfLike stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer:, nowCan willthe JehovahLord feednow pasture them asLike a lamb in a large place.field? |
| 4:17 |
Ephraim is joined to idols; letLet him alone. |
| 4:18 |
Their drinkliquor isgone, becomeThey sour; they play the harlot continually; herTheir rulers dearly love shame. |
| 4:19 |
The wind hathwraps wrappedthem her up in its wings;, andAnd they shallwill be putashamed to shame because of their sacrifices. |
| 5:1 |
Hear this, O ye priests,! andGive hearkenheed, O house of Israel,! and give earListen, O house of the king;! forFor untothe youjudgment pertainethapplies theto judgment;you, forFor yeyou have been a snare at Mizpah, andAnd a net spread uponout on Tabor. |
| 5:2 |
And the revolters arehave gone deep in makingdepravity, slaughter; But but I amwill achastise rebukerall of them all. |
| 5:3 |
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidhidden from meMe; forFor now, O Ephraim, thouyou hasthave played the harlot, Israel ishas defiled itself. |
| 5:4 |
Their doingsdeeds will not sufferallow them toTo turnreturn untoto their God;. forFor thea spirit of whoredomharlotry is within them, andAnd they knowdo not Jehovahknow the Lord. |
| 5:5 |
AndMoreover, the pride of Israel dothtestifies testifyagainst tohim, hisAnd face: therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity; Judah also shallhas stumblestumbled with them. |
| 5:6 |
They shallwill go with their flocks and with their herds toTo seek Jehovah;the Lord, but they shallwill not find him:Him; heHe hathhas withdrawn himself from them. |
| 5:7 |
They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah;the forLord, For they have borne strangeillegitimate children:. nowNow shall the new moon will devour them with their fieldsland. |
| 5:8 |
Blow ye the cornethorn in Gibeah, andThe the trumpet in Ramah:. soundSound an alarm at Beth aven;: behindBehind theeyou, O Benjamin.! |
| 5:9 |
Ephraim shallwill become a desolation in the day of rebuke:; amongAmong the tribes of Israel have I madedeclare knownwhat thatis which shall surely besure. |
| 5:10 |
The princes of Judah arehave become like themthose thatwho removemove thea landmark:boundary; On them I will pour out myMy wrath upon them like water. |
| 5:11 |
Ephraim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgment;, becauseBecause he was contentdetermined to walkfollow after mans command. |
| 5:12 |
Therefore am I untoam Ephraimlike as a moth to Ephraim, andAnd like rottenness to the house of Judah as rottenness. |
| 5:13 |
When Ephraim saw his sickness, andAnd Judah saw his wound, thenThen Ephraim went Ephraim to Assyria, andAnd sent to kingKing Jareb:. butBut he is notunable able to heal you, neitherOr willto he cure you of your wound. |
| 5:14 |
For I will be untolike Ephraima aslion ato lionEphraim, andAnd aslike a young lion to the house of Judah:. I, even I, will tear to pieces and go away;, I will carry offaway, and there shallwill be none to deliver. |
| 5:15 |
I will go away and return to myMy place, tillUntil they acknowledge their offence, guilt and seek myMy face:; inIn their affliction they will earnestly seek me earnestlyMe. |
| 6:1 |
Come, and let us return untoto Jehovah;the forLord. heFor hathHe has torn us, andbut heHe will heal us; heHe hathhas smittenwounded us, andbut heHe will bindbandage us up. |
| 6:2 |
AfterHe two days will he revive us: onafter thetwo thirddays; dayHe he will raise us up, andon the third day That we shallmay live before himHim. |
| 6:3 |
AndSo let us know, let us followpress on to know Jehovah:the hisLord. His going forth is sureas certain as the morningdawn; andAnd heHe will come untoto us aslike the rain, asLike the latterspring rain thatwatering watereth the earth. |
| 6:4 |
OWhat Ephraim, what shall I do untowith thee?you, O Judah,Ephraim? whatWhat shall I do untowith theeyou, O Judah? forFor your goodnessloyalty is aslike a morning cloud, andAnd aslike the dew thatwhich goethgoes away early away. |
| 6:5 |
Therefore I have Ihewn hewed them in pieces by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of myMy mouth:; andAnd thythe judgments on you are aslike the light that goethgoes forth. |
| 6:6 |
For I desiredelight goodness,in andloyalty notrather than sacrifice;, andAnd in the knowledge of God morerather than burnt offerings. |
| 6:7 |
But they like Adam they have transgressed the covenant:; thereThere they have they dealt treacherously against meMe. |
| 6:8 |
Gilead is a city of themwrongdoers, thatTracked workwith iniquity;bloody it is stained with bloodfootprints. |
| 6:9 |
And as troopsraiders of robbers wait for a man, soSo thea companyband of priests murder inon the way towardto Shechem; yea,Surely they have committed lewdnesscrime. |
| 6:10 |
In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing:; thereEphraims whoredomharlotry is found in Ephraimthere, Israel ishas defiled itself. |
| 6:11 |
Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for theeyou, whenWhen I bringrestore back the captivityfortunes of myMy people. |
| 7:1 |
When I would heal Israel, thenThe is the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, andAnd the wickednessevil deeds of Samaria;, forFor they commitdeal falsehood, falsely; andThe the thief enterethenters in, andBandits theraid troop of robbers ravageth without.outside, |
| 7:2 |
And they considerdo not consider in their hearts thatThat I remember all their wickedness:. nowNow have their owndeeds doingsare besetall around them about; theyThey are before myMy face. |
| 7:3 |
TheyWith their wickedness they make the king glad with their wickedness, andAnd the princes with their lies. |
| 7:4 |
They are all adulterers; theyLike are as an oven heated by the baker;, heWho ceasethceases to stir up the fire, fromFrom the kneading of the dough, until it beis leavened. |
| 7:5 |
On the day of our king, the princes madebecame themselves sick with the heat of wine; heHe stretched out his hand with scoffers., |
| 7:6 |
For theytheir havehearts madeare ready their heart like an oven, whileAs they lieapproach intheir wait:plotting; theirTheir bakeranger sleepethsmolders all the night;, inIn the morning it burnethburns aslike a flaming fire. |
| 7:7 |
TheyAll of them are all hot aslike an oven, andAnd devourthey consume their judgesrulers; allAll their kings arehave fallen:. thereNone isof none among them thatcalls callethon unto meMe. |
| 7:8 |
Ephraim, hemixes mixeth himself amongwith the peoplesnations; Ephraim ishas become a cake not turned. |
| 7:9 |
Strangers havedevour devoured his strength, andYet he knowethdoes it not: yea, know grayit; Gray hairs also are heresprinkled andon there upon him, andYet he knowethdoes not know it not. |
| 7:10 |
AndThough the pride of Israel dothtestifies testifyagainst tohim, hisYet face: yet they have notneither returned untoto Jehovahthe Lord their God, norNor have they sought himHim, for all this. |
| 7:11 |
AndSo Ephraim ishas become like a silly dove, without understanding:sense; theyThey call untoto Egypt, they go to Assyria. |
| 7:12 |
When they shall go, I will spread myMy net uponover them; I will bring them down aslike the birds of the heavens;sky. I will chastise them, asin theiraccordance congregationwith haththe heardproclamation to their assembly. |
| 7:13 |
Woe untoto them!, for they have wanderedstrayed from me;Me! destructionDestruction untois them!theirs, for they have trespassedrebelled against me:Me! though I would redeem them, yetbut they havespeak spoken lies against meMe. |
| 7:14 |
And they havedo not criedcry untoto meMe withfrom their heart, butWhen they howlwail uponon their beds:; theyFor assemblethe themselvessake forof grain and new wine; they rebelassemble againstthemselves, meThey turn away from Me. |
| 7:15 |
ThoughAlthough I havetrained taught and strengthened their arms, yetYet do they devise mischiefevil against meMe. |
| 7:16 |
They returnturn, but not toupward, himThey that is on high; they are like a deceitful bow; theirTheir princes shallwill fall by the sword forBecause of the rageinsolence of their tongue:. thisThis shallwill be their derision in the land of Egypt. |
| 8:1 |
SetPut the trumpet to thyyour mouth.lips! AsLike an eagle hethe comethenemy comes against the house of Jehovahthe Lord, becauseBecause they have transgressed myMy covenant, andAnd trespassedrebelled against myMy law. |
| 8:2 |
They shall cry untoout meto Me, My God, we of Israel know thee.Thee! |
| 8:3 |
Israel hathhas castrejected offthe that which is good:; theThe enemy shallwill pursue him. |
| 8:4 |
They have set up kings, but not by meMe; theyThey have madeappointed princes, andbut I knewdid not know it. not:With of their silver and their gold they have they made themidols idolsfor themselves, thatThat they maymight be cut off. |
| 8:5 |
He hathhas castrejected offyour thy calf, O Samaria;, minesaying, My anger isburns kindled against them:! howHow long will itthey be ereincapable theyof attain to innocencyinnocence? |
| 8:6 |
For from Israel is even this;! theA workmancraftsman made it, andso it is nonot God; yea,Surely the calf of Samaria shallwill be broken into pieces. |
| 8:7 |
For they sow the wind, andAnd they shall reap the whirlwind:. heThe hath no standing grain; thehas bladeno shallheads; yieldIt yields no meal;grain. ifShould so be it yield, strangers shallwould swallow it up. |
| 8:8 |
Israel is swallowed up:; nowThey are theynow among the nations asLike a vessel whereinin nonewhich delightethno one delights. |
| 8:9 |
For they arehave gone up to Assyria, likeLike a wild assdonkey all alone; by himself: Ephraim hathhas hired lovers. |
| 8:10 |
Yea,Even though they hire allies among the nations, nowNow I will I gather them up; andAnd they will begin to bediminish diminishedBecause by reason of the burden of the king of princes. |
| 8:11 |
BecauseSince Ephraim hathhas multiplied altars for sinningsin, altarsThey have beenbecome untoaltars himof sinning for sinninghim. |
| 8:12 |
Though I wrote for him the ten thousand thingsprecepts of myMy law;, butThey they are countedregarded as a strange thing. |
| 8:13 |
As for theMy sacrificessacrificial of mine offeringsgifts, theyThey sacrifice the flesh and eat it;, butBut Jehovahthe acceptethLord has taken no delight in them. not:Now nowHe will he remember their iniquity, andAnd visitpunish them for their sins; theyThey shallwill return to Egypt. |
| 8:14 |
For Israel hathhas forgotten his Maker, and buildedbuilt palaces; andAnd Judah hathhas multiplied fortified cities:, butBut I will send a fire uponon hisits cities, andthat it shallmay devourconsume theits castlespalatial thereofdwellings. |
| 9:1 |
RejoiceDo not rejoice, O Israel, forwith joy, exultation like the peoples;nations! forFor thouyou hasthave played the harlot, departingforsaking fromyour thy God;. thouYou hasthave loved hireharlots uponearnings on every grainthreshing floor. |
| 9:2 |
TheThreshing threshing floor and thewine winepresspress shallwill not feed them, andAnd the new wine shallwill fail herthem. |
| 9:3 |
They shallwill not dwellremain in Jehovahsthe Lords land;, butBut Ephraim shallwill return to Egypt, andAnd in Assyria they shallwill eat unclean food in Assyria. |
| 9:4 |
They shallwill not pour out libations of wine offerings to Jehovahthe Lord, neitherTheir shallsacrifices theywill benot pleasingplease untoHim. him:Their theirbread sacrificeswill shall be untolike themmourners as the bread of mourners; allAll thatwho eat thereofof shallit will be polluted;defiled, forFor their bread shallwill be for theirthemselves appetitealone; itIt shallwill not comeenter into the house of Jehovahthe Lord. |
| 9:5 |
What will yeyou do inon the day of solemnthe assembly, appointed andfestival inAnd on the day of the feast of Jehovahthe Lord? |
| 9:6 |
For, lobehold, they arewill gonego awaybecause fromof destruction; yet Egypt shallwill gather them up, Memphis shallwill bury them;. theirWeeds pleasantwill thingstake ofover silver, their nettlestreasures shallof possess themsilver; thornsThorns shallwill be in their tents. |
| 9:7 |
The days of visitationpunishment arehave come, theThe days of recompenseretribution arehave come; Let Israel shall know it:this! theThe prophet is a fool, theThe inspired man that hath the spirit is maddemented, forBecause of the abundancegrossness of thineyour iniquity, andAnd because theyour enmityhostility is so great. |
| 9:8 |
Ephraim was a watchman with my God:, asa forprophet; Yet the prophet, snare of a fowlersbird snarecatcher is in all his ways, andAnd enmitythere is only hostility in the house of his God. |
| 9:9 |
They have deeplygone corrupteddeep themselves,in asdepravity As in the days of Gibeah:; heHe will remember their iniquity, heHe will visitpunish their sins. |
| 9:10 |
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathersforefathers as the firstearliest ripefruit inon the fig tree atin its first season:. butBut they came to Baal peor, and consecrateddevoted themselves untoto theshame, shamefulAnd thing, they and became abominableas likedetestable as that which they loved. |
| 9:11 |
As for Ephraim, their glory shallwill fly away like a bird: thereNo shall be no birth, andno none with childpregnancy, and no conception.! |
| 9:12 |
Though they bring up their children, yetYet I will I bereave them, sountil that not a man shallis be left:. yeaYes, woe also to them indeed when I depart from them! |
| 9:13 |
Ephraim, like as I have seen Tyre, isIs planted in a pleasant place:meadow butlike Tyre; But Ephraim shallwill bring out his children tofor the slayerslaughter. |
| 9:14 |
Give them, O Jehovah—Lord what wilt thouThou give? giveGive them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. |
| 9:15 |
All their wickednessevil is inat Gilgal; forIndeed, there I hatedcame to hate them: becausethere! Because of the wickedness of their doingsdeeds I will drive them out of myMy house;! I will love them no more; allAll their princes are revoltersrebels. |
| 9:16 |
Ephraim is smittenstricken, their root is dried up, theyThey shallwill bear no fruit:. yea,Even though they bringbear forthchildren, yetI will I slay the belovedprecious fruitones of their womb. |
| 9:17 |
My God will cast them away, becauseBecause they didhave not hearkenlistened untoto himHim; andAnd they shallwill be wanderers among the nations. |
| 10:1 |
Israel is a luxuriant vine,; thatHe puttethproduces forth his fruit: accordingfor tohimself. theThe abundancemore of his fruit, heThe hathmore multipliedaltars hishe altarsmade; accordingThe toricher thehis goodnessland, ofThe theirbetter landhe theymade havethe madesacred goodly pillars. |
| 10:2 |
Their heart is dividedfaithless; nowNow shall they bemust foundbear guilty:their heguilt. The Lord will smitebreak down their altars, heAnd will destroy their sacred pillars. |
| 10:3 |
Surely now shall they will say, We have no king;, forFor we feardo not Jehovah;revere andthe Lord. As for the king, what can he do for us? |
| 10:4 |
They speak vainmere words, swearingWith falselyworthless inoaths makingthey make covenants:; thereforeAnd judgment springethsprouts uplike aspoisonous hemlockweeds in the furrows of the field. |
| 10:5 |
The inhabitants of Samaria shallwill befear inFor terror for the calvescalf of Beth aven;. forIndeed, theits people thereofwill shall mourn overfor it, andAnd theits idolatrous priests thereofwill thatcry rejoicedout over it, forOver theits glory thereof, becausesince it ishas departed from it. |
| 10:6 |
ItThe alsothing shallitself will be carried untoto Assyria forAs atribute present to kingKing Jareb:; Ephraim shallwill receivebe seized with shame, andAnd Israel shallwill be ashamed of hisits own counsel. |
| 10:7 |
AsSamaria forwill Samaria,be cut off with her king, isLike cuta off, stick ason foamthe uponsurface of the water. |
| 10:8 |
TheAlso the high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shallwill be destroyed:; theThorn thorn and the thistle shallwill comegrow up on their altars;, andThen they shallwill say to the mountains, Cover us;! andAnd to the hills, Fall on us.! |
| 10:9 |
OFrom Israel, the thoudays hastof sinnedGibeah fromyou thehave dayssinned, ofO Gibeah:Israel; thereThere they stood;stand! Will not the battle against the childrensons of iniquity doth not overtake them in Gibeah.? |
| 10:10 |
When it is myMy desire, I will chastise them; andAnd the peoples shallwill be gathered against them, whenWhen they are bound tofor their twodouble transgressionsguilt. |
