1:14 I have seen all the works thatwhich arehave been done under the sun;, and, behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind.
1:15 ThatWhat which is crooked cannot be madestraightened, straight; and thatwhat which is wantinglacking cannot be numberedcounted.
1:16 I communedsaid withto mine own heartmyself, sayingBehold, Lo, I have gottenmagnified meand greatincreased wisdom abovemore than all thatwho were over Jerusalem before me in Jerusalem; yea,and my heartmind hathhas hadobserved greata experiencewealth of wisdom and knowledge.
1:17 And I appliedset my heartmind to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly:; I perceivedrealized that this also wasis a striving after wind.
1:18 ForBecause in much wisdom there is much grief;, and heincreasing thatknowledge increasethresults knowledgein increasethincreasing sorrowpain.
2:1 I said into my heartmyself, Come now, I will provetest theeyou with mirth;pleasure. thereforeSo enjoy pleasure:yourself. and,And behold, thisit alsotoo was vanityfutility.
2:2 I said of laughter, It is mad;madness, and of mirthpleasure, What doethdoes it accomplish?
2:3 I searchedexplored inwith my heartmind how to cheerstimulate my fleshbody with wine, while my heartmind yetwas guiding me with wisdomwisely, and how to laytake hold onof folly, tilluntil I mightcould see what itgood wasthere goodis for the sons of men thatto they should do under heaven all the daysfew years of their lifelives.
2:4 I madeenlarged memy great works;: I buildedbuilt me houses; for myself, I planted mevineyards vineyardsfor myself;
2:5 I made me gardens and parks for myself, and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit trees;
2:6 I made meponds pools of water, for myself from which to waterirrigate therefroma the forest whereof growing trees were reared;.
2:7 I bought menmale servants and maidfemale servantsslaves, and I had servantshomeborn bornslaves. inAlso my house; also I hadpossessed greatflocks possessionsand of herds andlarger flocks, than above all thatwho werepreceded before me in Jerusalem;.
2:8 Also, I gatheredcollected mefor alsomyself silver and gold, and the treasure of kings and of the provinces;. I gatprovided mefor menmyself singersmale and womenfemale singers, and the delightspleasures of the sons of men, musicalmany instruments, and that of all sortsconcubines.
2:9 SoThen I wasbecame great, and increased more than all thatwho werepreceded before me in Jerusalem:. alsoMy my wisdom remainedalso withstood by me.
2:10 And whatsoeverall minethat my eyes desired I keptdid not fromrefuse them;. I withhelddid not withhold my heart from any joy;pleasure, for my heart rejoicedwas pleased because of all my labor; and this was my portionreward fromfor all my labor.
2:11 ThenThus I lookedconsidered on all themy worksactivities thatwhich my hands had wrought, done and on the labor thatwhich I had laboredexerted, to do; and, behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.
2:12 AndSo I turned myself to beholdconsider wisdom, and madness, and folly:, for what canwill the man do thatwho comethwill come after the king? evenexcept thatwhat whichhas hathalready been done long ago.?
2:13 ThenAnd I saw that wisdom excellethexcels folly, as far as light excellethexcels darkness.
2:14 The wise mans eyes are in his head, andbut the fool walkethwalks in darkness:. andAnd yet I perceivedknow that one eventfate happenethbefalls to them allboth.
2:15 Then said I insaid myto heartmyself, As itis happeneththe tofate of the fool, soit will italso happenbefall even to me;. andWhy whythen washave I thenbeen moreextremely wise? ThenSo said I insaid myto heartmyself, thatThis thistoo also is vanity.
2:16 For there is no lasting remembrance of the wise man, even as ofwith the fool, thereinasmuch isas no remembrance for ever; seeing that in the coming days to come all will havebe been long forgotten. And how doth the wise man dieand eventhe asfool thealike fooldie!
2:17 So I hated life, becausefor the work thatwhich ishad wroughtbeen done under the sun was grievous untoto me; forbecause alleverything is vanityfutility and a striving after wind.
2:18 AndThus I hated all the fruit of my labor whereinfor which I had labored under the sun, seeingfor that I must leave it untoto the man thatwho shallwill become after me.
2:19 And who knowethknows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? yetYet he will he have rulecontrol over all the fruit of my labor whereinfor which I have labored, andby whereinacting Iwisely have showed myself wise under the sun. This alsotoo is vanity.

2:21 ForWhen there is a man whosewho laborhas islabored with wisdom, knowledge and with knowledgeskill, andthen withhe skilfulness;gives yethis legacy to aone manwho thathas hath not labored thereinwith shall he leave it for his portionthem. This alsotoo is vanity and a great evil.
2:22 For what hathdoes a man ofget in all his labor, and ofin thehis striving ofwith hiswhich heart, wherein he laborethlabors under the sun?
2:23 ForBecause all his days arehis buttask sorrows,is painful and his travail is griefgrievous; yea, even inat the night his heartmind takethdoes nonot rest. This alsotoo is vanity.
2:24 There is nothing better for a man than thatto he should eat and drink, and maketell himself that his soullabor enjoyis good in his labor. This also I sawhave seen, that it is from the hand of God.
2:25 For who can eat, orand who can have enjoyment, morewithout than IHim?
2:26 For to thea manperson thatwho pleasethis himgood Godin givethHis sight He has given wisdom, and knowledge, and joy;, butwhile to the sinner heHe givethhas travail, given tothe gathertask of gathering and tocollecting heapso up, that he may give to himone thatwho pleasethis Godgood in Gods sight. This alsotoo is vanity and a striving after wind.

3:14 I know that, whatsoevereverything God doeth, does itwill shallremain beforever; forthere ever:is nothing canto beadd put to it, norand anythingthere takenis nothing to take from it;, andfor God hathhas doneso it,worked that men should fear before himHim.
3:15 That which is hathhas been longalready, ago; and that which iswill to be hathhas longalready ago been:, andfor God seekethseeks againwhat thathas which is passed awayby.
3:16 AndFurthermore, moreover I sawhave seen under the sun, that in the place of justice, thatthere is wickedness, was there; and in the place of righteousness, thatthere is wickedness was there.
3:17 I said into my heartmyself, God will judge both the righteous man and the wicked; man, for there is a time there for every purposematter and for every workdeed is there.
3:18 I said into mymyself heart, concerning It is because of the sons of men, that God mayhas provesurely tested them, andin thatorder theyfor maythem to see that they themselves are but as beasts.
3:19 For thatthe whichfate befallethof the sons of men befallethand beasts;the evenfate oneof thingbeasts befallethis them:the assame. theAs one dieth, dies so diethdies the other; yeaindeed, they all have allthe onesame breath; and manthere hathis no preeminenceadvantage abovefor theman beasts:over beast, for all is vanity.
3:20 All go untoto onethe same place;. allAll arecame offrom the dust, and all turnreturn to the dust again.
3:21 Who knowethknows that the spiritbreath of man, whetherascends it goeth upward, and the spiritbreath of the beast, whetherdescends it goeth downward to the earth?

4:4 ThenAnd I sawhave allseen that every labor and every skilfulskill work, which thatis fordone thisis the result of rivalry between a man isand envied of his neighbor. This alsotoo is vanity and a striving after wind.

4:8 There iswas onea thatcertain isman alone, without and he hath not a second; yeadependent, hehaving hath neither a son nor a brother;, yet is there was no end ofto all his labor. Indeed, neither are his eyes were not satisfied with riches. Forand whomhe thennever asked, saithAnd he,for dowhom am I labor, laboring and deprivedepriving mymyself soul of goodpleasure? This alsotoo is vanity, yea,and it is a soregrievous travailtask.
4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good rewardreturn for their labor.

4:11 AgainFurthermore, if two lie down together, then they havekeep warmth;warm, but how can one be warm alone?
4:12 And if aone mancan prevailoverpower against him thatwho is alone, two shallcan withstandresist him;. andA acord threefoldof cordthree strands is not quickly brokentorn apart.
4:13 BetterA is a poor, andyet wise youthlad is better than an old and foolish king, who knowethno notlonger knows how to receive admonition any moreinstruction.
4:14 For he has come out of prison he came forth to bebecome king; yea, even inthough his kingdom he was born poor in his kingdom.
4:15 I sawhave seen all the living that walk under the sun, thatthrong theyto werethe withside theof youth, the second, thatlad stoodwho upreplaces in his steadhim.
4:16 There wasis no end ofto all the people, evento of all who were before them, overand whomeven hethe was:ones yetwho theywill that come afterlater shallwill not rejoicebe inhappy with him., Surelyfor this alsotoo is vanity and a striving after wind.
5:1 KeepGuard thyyour footsteps whenas thouyou goestgo to the house of God;, forand to draw nighnear to hearlisten israther better than to giveoffer the sacrifice of fools:; for they knowdo not thatknow they doare doing evil.
5:2 BeDo not rashbe withhasty thyin mouth, word andor letimpulsive notin thythought heartto bebring hastyup toa uttermatter anythingin beforethe presence of God;. forFor God is in heaven, and thouyou uponare on the earth:; therefore let thyyour words be few.
5:3 For athe dream comethcomes withthrough amuch multitude of businesseffort, and athe fools voice withof a multitudefool ofthrough many words.
5:4 When thouyou vowestmake a vow untoto God, deferdo not tobe paylate in paying it;, for heHe hathtakes no pleasuredelight in fools:. payPay thatwhat whichyou thou vowest.vow!
5:5 BetterIt is itbetter that thouyou shouldestshould not vow, than that thouyou shouldestshould vow and not pay.
5:6 SufferDo not thylet mouthyour tospeech cause thyyou flesh to sin; neitherand do not say thouin beforethe presence of the angel, messenger of God that it was ana error:mistake. whereforeWhy should God be angry aton thyaccount of your voice, and destroy the work of thyyour hands?
5:7 For in themany multitude of dreams there are vanities, and in many words: butthere is emptiness. Rather, fear thou God.
5:8 If thouyou seestsee the oppression of the poor, and thedenial violent taking away of justice and righteousness in athe province, marveldo not be shocked at the matter:sight, for one higherofficial thanwatches theover highanother regardeth;official, and there are higher thanofficials theyover them.
5:9 MoreoverAfter theall, profita ofking thewho earthcultivates is for all: the kingfield himself is servedan byadvantage to the fieldland.
5:10 He thatwho lovethloves silvermoney shallwill not be satisfied with silver;money, nor he thatwho lovethloves abundance, with increase:its thisincome. alsoThis too is vanity.
5:11 When goodsgood things increase, theythose arewho increasedconsume thatthem eatincrease. them;So and what advantage is there to the owneradvantage thereof,to savetheir theowners beholdingexcept ofto themlook with his eyeson?
5:12 The sleep of athe laboringworking man is sweetpleasant, whether he eateats little or much;. butBut the fulnessfull stomach of the rich willman does not sufferallow him to sleep.
5:13 There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun,: namely, riches keptbeing hoarded by thetheir owner thereof to his hurt:.
5:14 andWhen those riches perishwere bylost evilthrough adventure;a bad investment and if he hathhad begottenfathered a son, then there iswas nothing into hissupport handhim.
5:15 As he camehad forthcome naked from his mothers womb, nakedso shallwill he goreturn again as he came,. andHe shallwill take nothing forfrom the fruit of his labor, whichthat he maycan carry away in his hand.
5:16 And this also is a grievous evil, thatexactly inas alla pointsman asis he cameborn, sothus shallwill he go:die. andSo, what profitis haththe headvantage thatto hehim laborethwho toils for the wind?
5:17 AllThroughout his dayslife he also heeats eateth in darkness, andwith hegreat is sore vexedvexation, and hath sickness and wrathanger.
5:18 Behold,Here thatis whichwhat I have seen to be good and tofitting: be comely is for one to eat, and to drink, and to enjoy goodoneself in all hisones labor, whereinin which he laborethtoils under the sun, allduring the daysfew years of his life which God hathhas given him:; for this is his portionreward.
5:19 EveryFurthermore, as for every man also to whom God hathhas given riches and wealth, andHe hathhas givenalso empowered him power to eat thereof, from them and to takereceive his portion, reward and to rejoice in his labor—; this is the gift of God.
5:20 For he shallwill not muchoften rememberconsider the daysyears of his life;, because God answerethkeeps him inoccupied with the joygladness of his heart.
6:1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is heavyprevalent uponamong men:
6:2 a man to whom God givethhas given riches, and wealth, and honor, so that hehis lackethsoul lacks nothing for his soul of all that he desirethdesires, yetbut God givethhas him not powerempowered him to eat thereoffrom them, butfor ana alienforeigner eatethenjoys it;them. thisThis is vanity, and ita issevere an evil diseaseaffliction.
6:3 If a man begetfathers a hundred children, and livelives many years, sohowever thatmany thethey days of his years are manybe, but his soul beis not filledsatisfied with good things, and moreover he does not even have noa proper burial;, then I say, thatBetter anthe untimelymiscarriage birth is better than he:,
6:4 for it comethcomes in vanity, futility and departethgoes ininto darkness, obscurity; and theits name thereof is covered within darkness;obscurity.
6:5 moreoverIt itnever hathsees not seen the sun norand knownit itnever knows anything; thisit hathis restbetter ratheroff than the other:he.
6:6 yea,Even thoughif hethe liveother man lives a thousand years twice told, and yetdoes not enjoy no good, things do not all go to one place?
6:7 All thea mans labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filledsatisfied.
6:8 For what advantage hathdoes the wise moreman thanhave over the fool? orWhat whatadvantage hathdoes the poor man have, thatknowing knoweth how to walk before the living?
6:9 BetterWhat is the sighteyes ofsee theis eyesbetter than what the wanderingsoul ofdesires. theThis desire:too this also is vanityfutility and a striving after wind.
6:10 WhatsoeverWhatever hathexists been, has thealready namebeen thereofnamed, was given long ago; and it is known what man is; neitherfor can he contendcannot dispute with him thatwho is mightierstronger than he is.
6:11 SeeingFor there are many thingswords thatwhich increase vanity, futility. whatWhat then is man the betteradvantage to a man?
6:12 For who knowethknows what is good for a man induring his lifelifetime, allduring the daysfew years of his vainfutile life? whichHe hewill spendethspend asthem like a shadow?. forFor who can tell a man what shallwill be after him under the sun?
7:1 A good name is better than preciousa oil;good andointment, And the day of ones death, is better than the day of ones birth.
7:2 It is better to go to thea house of mourning thanThan to go to thea house of feasting:, forBecause that is the end of allevery men;man, andAnd the living willtakes lay it to his heart.
7:3 Sorrow is better than laughter;, forFor bywhen thea sadnessface ofis thesad countenancea the heart ismay madebe gladhappy.
7:4 The heartmind of the wise is in the house of mourning;, butWhile the heartmind of fools is in the house of mirthpleasure.
7:5 It is better to hearlisten to the rebuke of thea wise, thanman Than for aone manto listen to hear the song of fools.
7:6 For as the crackling of thornsthorn bushes under a pot, soSo is the laughter of the fool:, And this alsotoo is vanityfutility.
7:7 SurelyFor extortionoppression makethmakes thea wise man foolish;mad, andAnd a bribe destroyethcorrupts the understandingheart.
7:8 BetterThe is the end of a thingmatter is better than theits beginning thereof; andPatience theof patient in spirit is better than thehaughtiness proudof in spirit.
7:9 BeDo not hastybe eager in thyyour spiritheart to be angry;, forFor anger restethresides in the bosom of fools.
7:10 SayDo not thousay, WhatWhy is theit cause that the former days were better than these? forFor thouit dostis not inquirefrom wiselywisdom concerningthat you ask about this.
7:11 Wisdom isalong aswith good as an inheritance; yea,is moregood excellentAnd isan itadvantage forto themthose thatwho see the sun.
7:12 For wisdom is aprotection defence, just even as money is aprotection. defence; But but the excellencyadvantage of knowledge is, that wisdom preservethpreserves the lifelives of himits that hath itpossessors.
7:13 Consider the work of God:, forFor who canis makeable thatto straight, straighten whichwhat heHe hathhas made crookedbent?
7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyfulhappy, andBut in the day of adversity consider; yea, God hathhas made the one sideas bywell sideas with the other, toSo the end that man shouldmay not finddiscover out anything that shallwill be after him.
7:15 AllI this have I seen ineverything during my dayslifetime of vanity:futility; there is a righteous man thatwho perishethperishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man thatwho prolongethprolongs his life in his evil doingwickedness.
7:16 BeDo not be excessively righteous, overmuch;and neitherdo makenot thyselfbe overwise:overly whywise. shouldestWhy thoushould destroyyou thyselfruin yourself?
7:17 BeDo not overmuchbe excessively wicked, neitherand do not be thoua foolish:fool. whyWhy shouldestshould thouyou die before thyyour time?
7:18 It is good that thouyou shouldestgrasp takeone holdthing, ofand this; yea, also fromnot thatlet withdrawgo notof thythe hand:other; for hethe thatone fearethwho fears God shallcomes come forth fromwith both of them all.
7:19 Wisdom isstrengthens a strength to the wise man more than ten rulers thatwho are in a city.
7:20 SurelyIndeed, there is not a righteous man uponon earth, thatwho doethcontinually does good, and sinnethwho notnever sins.
7:21 Also, takedo not heedtake untoseriously all words thatwhich are spoken, lest thouyou hear thyyour servant cursecursing thee;you.
7:22 forFor oftentimesyou also thinehave ownrealized heartthat knowethyou thatlikewise thouhave thyselfmany likewisetimes hast cursed others.
7:23 AllI thistested haveall Ithis provedwith in wisdom:, and I said, I will be wise;, but it was far from me.
7:24 ThatWhat whichhas is,been is farremote off and exceedingexceedingly deep;mysterious. whoWho can finddiscover it out?
7:25 I turneddirected about, and my heartmind was set to know, and to search outinvestigate, and to seek wisdom and thean reason of thingsexplanation, and to know thatthe wickednessevil isof folly, and thatthe foolishness isof madness.
7:26 And I finddiscovered more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are bands:chains. whosoOne pleasethwho is pleasing to God shallwill escape from her;, but the sinner shallwill be takencaptured by her.
7:27 Behold, thisI have Idiscovered foundthis, saithsays the Preacher, layingadding one thing to another, to find outan the account;explanation,
7:28 which myI soulam still seeketh, seeking but I have not found:. I have found one man among a thousand, havebut I have not found; but a woman among all those have I not foundthese.
7:29 Behold, thisI only have I found: only this, that God made manmen upright;, but they have sought out many inventionsdevices.
8:1 Who is aslike the wise man? and who knowethknows the interpretation of a thingmatter? A mans wisdom makethillumines hishim face to shine, and thecauses hardnesshis ofstern his face isto changedbeam.
8:2 I counsel theesay, Keep the kings command, andof thatthe inking regardbecause of the oath ofbefore God.
8:3 BeDo not hastybe toin goa outhurry ofto hisleave presence;him. persistDo not join in an evil thing:matter, for he doethwill whatsoeverdo pleasethwhatever himhe pleases.
8:4 ForSince the kings word hathof power;the andking is authoritative, who maywill say untoto him, What doestare thouyou doing?
8:5 WhosoHe keepethwho thekeeps commandmenta shallroyal knowcommand experiences no eviltrouble, thing;for and a wise mans heart discernethknows the proper time and judgment:procedure.
8:6 forFor to every purpose there is a proper time and judgment;procedure becausefor theevery miserydelight, ofwhen mana mans trouble is greatheavy upon him:.
8:7 forIf heno knowethone notknows thatwhat whichwill shallhappen, be; for who can tell him howwhen it shallwill behappen?
8:8 ThereNo is no man thathas hathauthority powerto overrestrain the spiritwind towith retain the spirit;wind, neitheror hathauthority he power over the day of death; and there is no discharge in the time of war:, neitherand shallevil wickednesswill not deliver himthose thatwho ispractice given to it.
8:9 All this I have I seen, and applied my heartmind untoto every workdeed that ishas been done under the sun: therewherein is a timeman whereinhas oneexercised manauthority hath power over another man to his hurt.
8:10 So then, I sawhave seen the wicked buried, andthose theywho cameused to thego grave;in and theyout that had done right went away from the holy place, and werethey are soon forgotten in the city: thiswhere alsothey did thus. This too is vanityfutility.
8:11 Because the sentence against an evil workdeed is not executed speedilyquickly, therefore the hearthearts of the sons of men isamong fullythem setare ingiven themfully to do evil.
8:12 ThoughAlthough a sinner dodoes evil a hundred times, and prolongmay lengthen his dayslife, yetstill surely I know that it shallwill be well withfor themthose thatwho fear God, thatwho fear beforeHim him:openly.
8:13 butBut it shallwill not be well withfor the wicked, evil neitherman shalland he prolongwill not lengthen his days, whichlike are as a shadow;, because he fearethdoes not beforefear God.
8:14 There is afutility vanity which is done uponon the earth, that is, there are righteous men untoto whom it happenethhappens according to the workdeeds of the wicked;. againOn the other hand, there are wickedevil men to whom it happenethhappens according to the workdeeds of the righteous:. I saidsay that this alsotoo is vanityfutility.
8:15 ThenSo I commended mirthpleasure, becausefor athere manis hathnothing nogood betterfor thinga man under the sun, thanexcept to eat, and to drink, and to be joyful:merry, forand thatthis shallwill abidestand withby him in his labortoils allthroughout the days of his life which God hathhas given him under the sun.
8:16 When I appliedgave my heart to know wisdom, and to see the businesstask thatwhich ishas been done uponon the earth foreven alsothough thereone isshould thatnever neithersleep day noror night seeth sleep with his eyes,
8:17 thenand I beheldsaw allevery the work of God, I concluded that man cannot finddiscover out the work thatwhich ishas been done under the sun:. becauseEven howeverthough much a man laborshould to seek it outlaboriously, yet he shallwill not find itdiscover; yeaand moreover, though athe wise man thinkshould tosay, I know it, yet shall he notcannot be able to find itdiscover.
9:1 For I have taken all this I laid to my heart, evenand toexplain exploreit all this: that therighteous righteousmen, andwise the wisemen, and their works, deeds are in the hand of God;. Man does not know whether it will be love or hatred, man knoweth it not; allanything isawaits before themhim.
9:2 AllIt thingsis comethe alikesame tofor all:. thereThere is one eventfate tofor the righteous and tofor the wicked; tofor the good, andfor to the clean, and tofor the unclean; tofor himthe thatman sacrificethwho offers a sacrifice and tofor himthe thatone sacrificethwho does not; assacrifice. isAs the good man is, so is the sinner; andas hethe thatswearer swearethis, asso heis thatthe fearethone anwho oathis afraid to swear.
9:3 This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one eventfate untofor all: yeamen. alsoFurthermore, the hearthearts of the sons of men isare full of evil, and madnessinsanity is in their hearthearts whilethroughout theytheir live, lives. andAfterwards after that they go to the dead.
9:4 For towhoever him that is joined with all the living, there is hope; forsurely a livinglive dog is better than a dead lion.
9:5 For the living know that they shallwill die:; but the dead knowdo not know anything, neithernor have they any morelonger a reward;, for thetheir memory of them is forgotten.
9:6 AsIndeed well their love, as their hatredhate, and their envy, zeal ishave already perished, longand ago;they neitherwill haveno theylonger anyhave more a portionshare for ever in anythingall that is done under the sun.
9:7 Go thy waythen, eat thyyour bread within joyhappiness, and drink thyyour wine with a merrycheerful heart; for God hathhas already acceptedapproved thyyour works.
9:8 Let thyyour garmentsclothes be always white; all the time, and let not thyoil headbe lacklacking oilon your head.
9:9 LiveEnjoy joyfullylife with the wifewoman whom thouyou lovestlove all the days of thyyour fleeting life of vanity, which heHe hathhas given theeto you under the sun,; all thy days of vanity: for thatthis is thyyour portionreward in life, and in thyyour labortoil whereinin thouwhich laborestyou have labored under the sun.
9:10 WhatsoeverWhatever thyyour hand findethfinds to do, verily, do it with thyall your might; for there is no work, activity noror device, planning noror knowledge, noror wisdom, in Sheol, whitherwhere thouyou goestare going.
9:11 I returned, again and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, norand the battle is not to the strongwarriors, and neither yetis bread to the wise, nor yetwealth riches to menthe of understandingdiscerning, nor yet favor to men of skillability; butfor time and chance happenethovertake to them all.
9:12 ForMoreover, man alsodoes knoweth not know his time: aslike thefish fishescaught that are taken in ana eviltreacherous net, and as the birds thattrapped are caught in thea snare, even so are the sons of men snaredare inensnared at an evil time, when it falleth suddenly uponfalls on them.
9:13 Also this I havecame alsoto seensee as wisdom under the sun on this wise, and it seemedimpressed great unto me:.
9:14 There was a littlesmall city, andwith few men withinin it; and there came a great king againstcame to it, andsurrounded besieged it, and builtconstructed greatlarge bulwarkssiegeworks against it.
9:15 NowBut there was found in it a poor wise man, and he delivered the city by his wisdom. deliveredYet the city; yet no manone remembered that same poor man.
9:16 ThenSo I said I, Wisdom is better than strength:. neverthelessBut the wisdom of the poor mansman wisdom is despised, and his words are not heardheeded.
9:17 The words of the wise heard in quietquietness are better than the cryshouting of hima thatruler ruleth among fools.
9:18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war;, but one sinner destroyethdestroys much good.
10:1 Dead flies causemake thea perfumers oil ofstink, the perfumer to send forth an evil odor; so doth a little follyfoolishness outweighis weightier than wisdom and honor.
10:2 A wise mans heart isdirects athim histoward the right, hand; but athe foolsfoolish mans heart atdirects hishim toward the left.
10:3 YeaEven also, when the fool walkethwalks byalong the way, road his understandingsense failethis himlacking, and he saithdemonstrates to everyeveryone one that he is a fool.
10:4 If the spiritrulers oftemper therises ruler rise up against theeyou, leavedo not thyabandon place;your forposition, gentlenessbecause allayethcomposure allays great offencesoffenses.
10:5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, aslike it were an error which proceedethgoes forth from the ruler:
10:6 folly is set in greatmany dignity, exalted andplaces thewhile rich men sit in ahumble low placeplaces.
10:7 I have seen servantsslaves uponriding on horses, and princes walking like servantsslaves uponon the earthland.
10:8 He thatwho diggethdigs a pit shallmay fall into it;, and whosoa breakethserpent throughmay abite wall, him awho serpentbreaks shallthrough bitea himwall.
10:9 WhosoHe hewethwho outquarries stones shallmay be hurt therewith;by them, and he thatwho cleavethsplits woodlogs ismay be endangered therebyby them.
10:10 If the ironaxe beis blunt, dull and onehe dodoes not whetsharpen theits edge, then must he putmust toexert more strength:. butWisdom wisdomhas isthe profitableadvantage toof directgiving success.
10:11 If the serpent bitebites before itbeing is charmed, thenthere is there no advantageprofit infor the charmer.
10:12 TheWords wordsfrom the mouth of a wise mansman mouth are gracious;, butwhile the lips of a fool willconsume swallow up himself.him;
10:13 Thethe beginning of the words of his mouthtalking is foolishness;folly, and the end of hisit talk is mischievouswicked madness.
10:14 AYet the fool alsomultiplies multiplieth words:. yetNo man knowethknows not what shallwill be;happen, and thatwho whichcan shalltell behim afterwhat him, will whocome canafter tell him?
10:15 The labortoil of foolsa weariethfool everyso onewearies ofhim them;that for he knowethdoes not even know how to go to thea city.
10:16 Woe to theeyou, O land, whenwhose thy king is a child, lad and thywhose princes eatfeast in the morning!.
10:17 HappyBlessed artare thouyou, O land, whenwhose thy king is the son of nobles, nobility and thywhose princes eat inat duethe season, appropriate time for strength, and not for drunkenness!.
10:18 ByThrough slothfulnessindolence the roofrafters sinkethsag, in; and through idlenessslackness of the hands the house leakethleaks.
10:19 AMen feastprepare isa mademeal for laughterenjoyment, and wine makethmakes gladlife themerry, life; and money answerethis allthe thingsanswer to everything.
10:20 RevileFurthermore, in your bedchamber do not thecurse a king, no,and not in thyyour thought;sleeping androoms reviledo not thecurse a rich inman, thy bedchamber: for a bird of the heavens shallwill carry the voicesound, and thatthe whichwinged hathcreature wingswill shallmake tell the matter known.
11:1 Cast thyyour bread uponon the surface of the waters;, for thouyou shaltwill find it after many days.
11:2 GiveDivide ayour portion to seven, yea,or even untoto eight;, for thouyou knowestdo not know what evilmisfortune shallmay beoccur uponon the earth.
11:3 If the clouds beare full of rain, they emptypour themselvesout rain upon the earth; and ifwhether a tree fallfalls toward the south, or toward the north, inwherever the place where the tree fallethfalls, there shall it belies.
11:4 He thatwho observethwatches the wind shallwill not sow; and he thatwho regardethlooks at the clouds shallwill not reap.
11:5 AsJust thouas knowestyou do not whatknow is the waypath of the wind, norand how the bones doare growformed in the womb of herthe thatpregnant iswoman, with child; even so thouyou knowestdo not know the workactivity of God who doethmakes all things.
11:6 InSow theyour morningseed sowin thythe seedmorning, and indo thenot eveningbe withholdidle notin thythe hand;evening, for thouyou knowestdo not whichknow shall prosper, whether thismorning or thatevening sowing will succeed, or whether they both shallof bethem alike will be good.
11:7 TrulyThe the light is sweetpleasant, and a pleasant thing it is good for the eyes to beholdsee the sun.
11:8 YeaIndeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all;, butand let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. AllEverything that cometh is vanityto come will be futility.
11:9 Rejoice, O young man, induring thyyour youthchildhood, and let thyyour heart cheerbe theepleasant induring the days of thyyoung youth, manhood. andAnd walkfollow in the waysimpulses of thyyour heart, and in the sightdesires of thineyour eyes;. butYet know thou, that forGod allwill thesebring thingsyou Godto willjudgment bringfor theeall intothese judgmentthings.
11:10 ThereforeSo, remove sorrowvexation from thyyour heart, and put away evilpain from thyyour flesh;body, forbecause youthchildhood and the dawnprime of life are vanityfleeting.
12:1 Remember also thyyour Creator in the days of thyyour youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh,near when thouyou shaltwill say, I have no pleasuredelight in them;
12:2 before the sun, and the light, and the moon, and the stars, are darkened, and the clouds return after the rain;
12:3 in the day whenthat the keeperswatchmen of the house shall tremble, and themighty strong men shallstoop, bowthe themselves,grinding andones thestand grindersidle cease because they are few, and those thatwho look outthrough of the windows shallgrow be darkened,dim;
12:4 and the doors shallon bethe shutstreet inare theshut street;as when the sound of the grinding mill is low, and one shallwill risearise up at the voicesound of athe bird, and all the daughters of musicsong shallwill besing brought low;softly.
12:5 yeaFurthermore, theymen shallare be afraid of thata whichhigh isplace high, and of terrors shallon be in the wayroad; and the almond tree shall blossomblossoms, and the grasshopper shalldrags behimself a burdenalong, and desirethe shallcaperberry fail;is becauseineffective. For man goethgoes to his everlastingeternal home, andwhile the mourners go about in the streets:street.
12:6 Remember Him before the silver cord is loosed,broken orand the golden bowl is brokencrushed, or the pitcher isby brokenthe atwell theis fountain,shattered orand the wheel broken at the cistern, is crushed;
12:7 andthen the dust returnethwill return to the earth as it was, and the spirit returnethwill untoreturn to God who gave it.
12:8 Vanity of vanities, saithsays the Preacher;, all is vanity.!
12:9 AndIn further, addition becauseto thebeing Preachera waswise wiseman, hethe stillPreacher also taught the people knowledge; yea,and he pondered, andsearched sought out, and setarranged in order many proverbs.
12:10 The Preacher sought to find outdelightful acceptable words, and thatto whichwrite was written uprightly, even words of truth correctly.
12:11 The words of the wise men are aslike goads;, and asmasters nailsof wellthese fastenedcollections are thelike wordswell ofdriven thenails; mastersthey of assemblies, which are given fromby one shepherdShepherd.
12:12 AndBut furthermorebeyond this, my son, be admonishedwarned: the writing of making many books there is noendless, end; and muchexcessive studydevotion to books is awearying wearinessto of the fleshbody.
12:13 ThisThe isconclusion, thewhen end of the matter; all hathhas been heard, is: Fearfear God, and keep hisHis commandments;, forbecause this isapplies theto wholeevery duty of manperson.
12:14 For God will bring every workact intoto judgment, witheverything everywhich is hidden thing, whether it beis good, or whether it be evil.
