| 1:1 |
These are the words which Moses spakespoke untoto all Israel beyondacross the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah overopposite against Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di zahabDizahab. |
| 1:2 |
It is eleven days journey from Horeb by the way of mountMount Seir untoto Kadesh barnea. |
| 1:3 |
And it came toabout pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the eleventh month, that Moses spakespoke untoto the children of Israel, according untoto all that Jehovahthe Lord had givencommanded him into commandmentgive untoto them;, |
| 1:4 |
after he had smittendefeated Sihon the king of the Amorites, who dweltlived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who dweltlived in Ashtaroth, atand Edrei. |
| 1:5 |
BeyondAcross the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses undertook to declareexpound this law, saying, |
| 1:6 |
JehovahThe Lord our God spakespoke untoto us inat Horeb, saying, YeYou have dweltstayed long enough inat this mountain:. |
| 1:7 |
turnTurn you, and takeset your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and untoto all thetheir placesneighbors nigh thereunto, in the Arabah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the South,Negev and by the sea shoreseacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. |
| 1:8 |
BeholdSee, I have setplaced the land before you:; go in and possess the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give unto them and to their seeddescendants after them. |
| 1:9 |
And I spakespoke untoto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear the burden of you myself alone:. |
| 1:10 |
JehovahThe Lord your God hathhas multiplied you, and, behold, yeyou are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude. |
| 1:11 |
JehovahMay the Lord, the God of your fathers, makeincrease you a thousand timesfold asmore manythan asyou ye are, and bless you, just as heHe hathhas promised you! |
| 1:12 |
How can I myself alone bear yourthe cumbrance, load and your burden, of you and your strife? |
| 1:13 |
TakeChoose you wise men, and understanding, discerning and known, experienced accordingmen tofrom your tribes, and I will makeappoint them headsas overyour youheads. |
| 1:14 |
And yeyou answered me, and said, The thing which thouyou hasthave spokensaid to do is good for us to do. |
| 1:15 |
So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and knownexperienced men, and madeappointed them heads over you, captainsleaders of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, accordingfor to your tribes. |
| 1:16 |
AndThen I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causescases between your brethrenfellow countrymen, and judge righteously between a man and his brotherfellow countryman, andor the sojourneralien thatwho is with him. |
| 1:17 |
YeYou shall not respectshow personspartiality in judgment; yeyou shall hear the small and the great alike;. yeYou shall not befear afraid of the face of man;, for the judgment is Gods:. andAnd the causecase that is too hard for you, yeyou shall bring untoto me, and I will hear it. |
| 1:18 |
And I commanded you at that time all the things whichthat yeyou should do. |
| 1:19 |
AndThen we journeyedset out from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which yeyou saw, byon the way to the hill country of the Amorites, just as Jehovahthe Lord our God had commanded us; and we came to Kadesh barnea. |
| 1:20 |
And I said untoto you, YeYou arehave come untoto the hill country of the Amorites, which Jehovahthe Lord our God givethis untoabout to give us. |
| 1:21 |
BeholdSee, Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas setplaced the land before thee:you; go up, take possession, as Jehovahthe Lord, the God of thyyour fathers, hathhas spoken untoto thee;you. fearDo not, neitherfear or be dismayed. |
| 1:22 |
AndThen yeall cameof nearyou untoapproached me every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us, that they may search out the land for us, and bring back to us word again of the way by which we mustshould go up, and the cities unto which we shall comeenter. |
| 1:23 |
And the thing pleased me well; and I took twelve men of youyour men, one man for everyeach tribe:. |
| 1:24 |
andAnd they turned and went up into the hill country, and came untoto the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out. |
| 1:25 |
AndThen they took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down untoto us,; and they brought us wordback again,a report and said, It is a good land which Jehovahthe Lord our God givethis untoabout to give us. |
| 1:26 |
Yet yeyou wouldwere not willing to go up, but rebelled against the commandmentcommand of Jehovahthe Lord your God:; |
| 1:27 |
and yeyou murmuredgrumbled in your tents, and said, Because Jehovahthe hatedLord hates us, heHe hathhas brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. |
| 1:28 |
WhitherWhere arecan we goinggo up? ourOur brethren have made our hearthearts to melt, saying, The people are greaterbigger and taller than we; the cities are greatlarge and fortified up to heaven;. andAnd moreoverbesides, we havesaw seen the sons of the Anakim there. |
| 1:29 |
Then I said untoto you, DreadDo not, neither be afraidshocked, ofnor fear them. |
| 1:30 |
JehovahThe Lord your God who goethgoes before you, he will Himself fight foron youyour behalf, accordingjust toas allHe that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes, |
| 1:31 |
and in the wilderness, where thouyou hastsaw seen how thatthe JehovahLord thyyour God barecarried theeyou, just as a man dothcarries bear his son, in all the way thatwhich yeyou wenthave walked, until yeyou came untoto this place. |
| 1:32 |
YetBut infor all this, thingyou ye did not believetrust Jehovahthe Lord your God, |
| 1:33 |
who wentgoes before you inon theyour way, to seek you out a place tofor pitchyou yourto tents inencamp, in fire by night and cloud by day, to show you bythe what way ye should go, and in thewhich cloudyou byshould daygo. |
| 1:34 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord heard the voicesound of your words, and He was wroth, angry and swaretook an oath, saying, |
| 1:35 |
SurelyNot there shall not one of these men, of this evil generation, shall see the good land, which I swareswore to give unto your fathers, |
| 1:36 |
saveexcept Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it;, and to him willand to his sons I will give the land thaton which he hathhas troddenset uponfoot, and to his children, because he hathhas wholly followed Jehovahthe Lord fully. |
| 1:37 |
AlsoThe JehovahLord was angry with me foralso on your sakesaccount, saying, ThouNot alsoeven shaltyou notshall goenter in thither:there. |
| 1:38 |
Joshua the son of Nun, who standethstands before theeyou, he shall goenter inthere; thither: encourage thou him;, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. |
| 1:39 |
Moreover, your little ones, thatwho yeyou said shouldwould bebecome a prey, and your childrensons, thatwho this day have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall goenter in thitherthere, and untoI them will I give it to them, and they shall possess it. |
| 1:40 |
But as for you, turn you, around and takeset yourout journeyfor into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea. |
| 1:41 |
Then yeyou answered and said untoto me, We have sinned against Jehovah, the Lord; we will indeed go up and fight, accordingjust toas allthe thatLord Jehovah our God commanded us. And yeevery man of you girded on every man his weapons of war, and wereregarded forwardit as easy to go up into the hill country. |
| 1:42 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, Say untoto them, GoDo not go up, neithernor fight;, for I am not among you; lest yeyou be smittendefeated before your enemies. |
| 1:43 |
So I spakespoke untoto you, andbut yeyou hearkenedwould not; butlisten. yeInstead you rebelled against the commandmentcommand of Jehovahthe Lord, and wereacted presumptuous, presumptuously and went up into the hill country. |
| 1:44 |
And the Amorites, thatwho dweltlived in that hill country, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and beatcrushed you downfrom in Seir, evento unto Hormah. |
| 1:45 |
AndThen yeyou returned and wept before Jehovahthe Lord; but Jehovahthe hearkenedLord did not listen to your voice, nor gavegive ear untoto you. |
| 1:46 |
So yeyou aboderemained in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that yeyou abodespent there. |
| 2:1 |
Then we turned, and tookset ourout journeyfor into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea, as Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to me;, and wecircled compassedMount mount Seir for many days. |
| 2:2 |
And Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to me, saying, |
| 2:3 |
YeYou have compassedcircled this mountain long enough:. Now turn you northward.north, |
| 2:4 |
Andand command thou the people, saying, YeYou arewill to pass through the borderterritory of your brethrenbrothers the childrensons of Esau, thatwho dwelllive in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. TakeSo yebe goodvery heed unto yourselves thereforecareful; |
| 2:5 |
contenddo not withprovoke them;, for I will not give you any of their land, no,even notas solittle much as fora thefootstep sole of the foot to tread on; because I have given mountMount Seir untoto Esau foras a possession. |
| 2:6 |
YeYou shall purchasebuy food offrom them forwith money, so that yeyou may eat;, and yeyou shall also buypurchase water offrom them forwith money, so that yeyou may drink. |
| 2:7 |
For Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas blessed theeyou in all thethat workyou ofhave thy handdone; heHe hathhas known thyyour walkingwanderings through this great wilderness:. theseThese forty years Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas been with theeyou; thouyou hasthave not lacked nothinga thing. |
| 2:8 |
So we passed bybeyond from our brethrenbrothers the childrensons of Esau, thatwho dwelllive in Seir, away from the wayArabah ofroad, theaway Arabah from Elath and from Ezion geber. And we turned and passed through by the way of the wilderness of Moab. |
| 2:9 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, VexDo not harass Moab, neithernor contendprovoke with them into battle;war, for I will not give theeyou any of histheir land foras a possession;, because I have given Ar untoto the childrensons of Lot foras a possession. |
| 2:10 |
The Emim dweltlived thereinthere aforetimeformerly, a people as great, and manynumerous, and tall, as the Anakim:. |
| 2:11 |
theseLike alsothe Anakim, they are accountedalso Rephaim, regarded as theRephaim, Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim. |
| 2:12 |
The Horites alsoformerly dweltlived in Seir aforetime, but the childrensons of Esau succeededdispossessed them; and they destroyed them from before them, and dweltsettled in their stead;place, just as Israel did untoto the land of histheir possession, which Jehovahthe Lord gave untoto them. |
| 2:13 |
Now risearise up, and getcross you over the brook Zered yourselves. AndSo we wentcrossed over the brook Zered. |
| 2:14 |
AndNow the daystime inthat whichit wetook camefor us to come from Kadesh barnea, until we werecrossed come over the brook Zered, werewas thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war wereperished consumed from thewithin midst of the camp, as Jehovahthe swareLord untohad sworn to them. |
| 2:15 |
Moreover the hand of Jehovahthe Lord was against them, to destroy them from thewithin midst of the camp, until they wereall consumedperished. |
| 2:16 |
So it came toabout pass, when all the men of war werehad consumedfinally andperished dead from among the people, |
| 2:17 |
that Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to me, saying, |
| 2:18 |
ThouYou artshall thiscross day to pass over Ar, the border of Moab:, today. |
| 2:19 |
andAnd when thouyou comestcome nighopposite over against the childrensons of Ammon, vexdo not harass them not, nor contendprovoke with them;, for I will not give theeyou any of the land of the childrensons of Ammon foras a possession;, because I have given it untoto the childrensons of Lot foras a possession. |
| 2:20 |
ThatIt is also isregarded accountedas athe land of the Rephaim:, for Rephaim dweltformerly thereinlived aforetime;in it, but the Ammonites call them ZamzummimZamzummin, |
| 2:21 |
a people as great, and manynumerous, and tall, as the Anakim;, but Jehovahthe Lord destroyed them before them;. andAnd they succeededdispossessed them, and dweltsettled in their stead;place, |
| 2:22 |
just as heHe did for the childrensons of Esau, thatwho dwelllive in Seir, when heHe destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeededdispossessed them, and dweltsettled in their steadplace even untoto this day. |
| 2:23 |
And the Avvim, thatwho dweltlived in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim, thatwho came forthfrom out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dweltlived in their steadplace. |
| 2:24 |
Rise ye upArise, takeset your journeyout, and pass overthrough the valley of the Arnon:. behold,Look! I have given into thy hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land into your hand; begin to possesstake it,possession and contend with him in battle. |
| 2:25 |
This day I will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of theeyou upon the peoples thateverywhere are under the whole heavenheavens, who, shallwhen they hear the report of theeyou, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of theeyou. |
| 2:26 |
AndSo I sent messengers outfrom of the wilderness of Kedemoth untoto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying, |
| 2:27 |
Let me pass through thyyour land:, I will gotravel alongonly byon the highway,; I will not turn neitheraside untoto the right handor nor to the left. |
| 2:28 |
ThouYou shaltwill sell me food for money, so that I may eat;, and give me water for money, so that I may drink:, only let me pass through on my feet;foot, |
| 2:29 |
just as the childrensons of Esau thatwho dwelllive in Seir, and the Moabites thatwho dwelllive in Ar, did untofor me;, until I shallcross pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovahthe Lord our God givethis giving to us. |
| 2:30 |
But Sihon king of Heshbon wouldwas not letwilling for us to pass bythrough himhis land; for Jehovahthe thyLord your God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, thatin heorder mightto deliver him into thyyour hand, as athe thisis daytoday. |
| 2:31 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, BeholdSee, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land beforeover thee:to beginyou. Begin to possessoccupy, that thouyou mayestmay inheritpossess his land. |
| 2:32 |
Then Sihon camewith outall againsthis us,people hecame andout allto hismeet people,us untoin battle at Jahaz. |
| 2:33 |
And Jehovahthe Lord our God delivered him upover beforeto us; and we smotedefeated him, andwith his sons, and all his people. |
| 2:34 |
AndSo we tookcaptured all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed everythe inhabited citymen, with the women and thechildren littleof ones;every wecity. We left noneno remaining:survivor. |
| 2:35 |
We took only the cattleanimals weas tookour forbooty aand prey unto ourselves, with the spoil of the cities which we had takencaptured. |
| 2:36 |
From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and from the city thatwhich is in the valley, even untoto Gilead, there was notno a city that was too high for us; Jehovahthe Lord our God delivered up all beforeover to us:. |
| 2:37 |
onlyOnly you did not go near to the land of the childrensons of Ammon, thou camest not near; all thealong side of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill country, and wheresoeverwherever Jehovahthe Lord our God forbadehad commanded us. |
| 3:1 |
Then we turned, and went up the wayroad to Bashan:, and Og, the king of Bashan, camewith outall againsthis us,people hecame andout allto hismeet people,us untoin battle at Edrei. |
| 3:2 |
AndBut Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, FearDo not fear him, not; for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into thyyour hand; and thouyou shaltshall do untoto him just as thouyou didstdid untoto Sihon king of the Amorites, who dweltlived at Heshbon. |
| 3:3 |
So Jehovahthe Lord our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, andwith all his people: into our hand, and we smote himthem until noneno survivor was left to him remaining. |
| 3:4 |
And we tookcaptured all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we tookdid not take from them;: threescoresixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. |
| 3:5 |
All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars;, besides the unwalled towns a great many unwalled towns. |
| 3:6 |
And we utterly destroyed them, as we did untoto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying everythe inhabited citymen, with the women and thechildren littleof onesevery city. |
| 3:7 |
But all the cattle, animals and the spoil of the cities, we took foras aour prey unto ourselvesbooty. |
| 3:8 |
AndThus we took the land at that time outfrom of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites thatwho were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon untoto mountMount Hermon |
| 3:9 |
which Hermon the Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir;: |
| 3:10 |
all the cities of the plain, tableland and all Gilead, and all Bashan, untoas far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. |
| 3:11 |
For only Og king of Bashan remainedwas left of the remnant of the Rephaim;. beholdBehold, his bedstead was aan iron bedstead of iron; is it notis in Rabbah of the childrensons of Ammon?. nineIts cubitslength was thenine lengthcubits thereof, and its width four cubits theby breadthordinary of it, after the cubit of a man. |
| 3:12 |
AndSo this land we took in possession of this land at that time:. fromFrom Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and theits cities thereof, I gave Ito unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites:. |
| 3:13 |
andAnd the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave Ito unto the half tribe of Manasseh;, all the region of Argob, evenconcerning all Bashan., Theit same is called the land of Rephaim. |
| 3:14 |
Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, untoas far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called themit, eventhat is, Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth jair, untoas it is to this day. |
| 3:15 |
And to Machir I gave Gilead unto Machir. |
| 3:16 |
And untoto the Reubenites and untoto the Gadites, I gave from Gilead even untoas far as the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, andas thea border thereof, and evenas untofar as the river Jabbok, which is the border of the childrensons of Ammon; |
| 3:17 |
the Arabah also, andwith the Jordan andas thea border thereof, from Chinnereth even untoas far as the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, underat the foot of the slopes of Pisgah eastwardon the east. |
| 3:18 |
AndThen I commanded you at that time, saying, JehovahThe Lord your God hathhas given you this land to possess it:; yeall you valiant men shall passcross over armed before your brethrenbrothers, the childrensons of Israel, all the men of valor. |
| 3:19 |
But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, livestock I know that yeyou have much cattlelivestock, shall abideremain in your cities which I have given you, |
| 3:20 |
until Jehovahthe giveLord gives rest untoto your brethren, fellow countrymen as untoto you, and they also possess the land which Jehovahthe Lord your God givethwill give them beyond the Jordan:. thenThen shallyou yemay return every man untoto his possession, which I have given you. |
| 3:21 |
And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ThineYour eyes have seen all that Jehovahthe Lord your God hathhas done untoto these two kings:; so the Lord shall Jehovah do untoto all the kingdoms whitherinto thouwhich goestyou overare about to cross. |
| 3:22 |
YeDo shall not fear them;, for Jehovahthe Lord your God, heis itthe isone thatfighting fighteth for you. |
| 3:23 |
And I besoughtalso Jehovahpleaded with the Lord at that time, saying, |
| 3:24 |
O Lord JehovahGod, thouThou hast begun to show thyThy servant thyThy greatness, and thyThy strong hand:; for what god is there in heaven or inon earth, thatwho can do accordingsuch to thy works, and accordingmighty toacts thyas mighty actsThine? |
| 3:25 |
Let me go over, I pray thee, cross over and see the goodfair land that is beyond the Jordan, that goodlygood mountain, hill country and Lebanon. |
| 3:26 |
But Jehovahthe Lord was wrothangry with me foron your sakesaccount, and hearkenedwould not untolisten to me; and Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, LetEnough! itSpeak sufficeto thee;Me speak no more unto me of this matter. |
| 3:27 |
GetGo thee up untoto the top of Pisgah, and lift up thineyour eyes westward,to the west and northward, north and southward, south and eastwardeast, and beholdsee it with thineyour eyes:, for thouyou shaltshall not gocross over this Jordan. |
| 3:28 |
But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go overacross beforeat the head of this people, and he shall causegive them toas inheritan inheritance the land which thouyou shaltwill see. |
| 3:29 |
So we aboderemained in the valley overopposite against Beth peor. |
| 4:1 |
And now, O Israel, hearkenlisten untoto the statutes and unto the ordinances, judgments which I teacham teaching you, to doperform, them;in order that yeyou may live, and go in and possesstake possession of the land which Jehovahthe Lord, the God of your fathers, givethis giving you. |
| 4:2 |
YeYou shall not add untoto the word which I commandam commanding you, neithernor shalltake yeaway diminish from it, that yeyou may keep the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord your God which I command you. |
| 4:3 |
Your eyes have seen what Jehovahthe didLord becausehas done in the case of Baal peor;, for all the men thatwho followed Baal peor, Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas destroyed them from theamong midst of theeyou. |
| 4:4 |
But yeyou thatwho didheld cleavefast untoto Jehovahthe Lord your God are alive today, every one of you this day. |
| 4:5 |
BeholdSee, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, judgments evenjust as Jehovahthe Lord my God commanded me, that yeyou should do sothus in the midst of the land whitherwhere yeyou goare inentering to possess it. |
| 4:6 |
KeepSo thereforekeep and do them;, for thisthat is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, thatwho shallwill hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. |
| 4:7 |
For what great nation is there, that hathhas a god so nighnear untoto them,it as Jehovahis the Lord our God iswhenever whensoever we call uponon himHim? |
| 4:8 |
AndOr what great nation is there, that hathhas statutes and ordinancesjudgments soas righteous as all this whole law, which I setam setting before you this daytoday? |
| 4:9 |
Only takegive heed to thyself, yourself and keep thyyour soul diligently, lest thouyou forget the things which thineyour eyes sawhave seen, and lest they depart from thyyour heart all the days of thyyour life; but make them known untoto thyyour childrensons and thyyour childrens children;grandsons. |
| 4:10 |
Remember the day thatyou thoustood stoodest before Jehovahthe thyLord your God inat Horeb, when Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, Assemble me the people to Me, andthat I willmay makelet them hear myMy words, thatso they may learn to fear meMe all the days that they live uponon the earth, and that they may teach their children. |
| 4:11 |
And yeyou came near and stood underat the foot of the mountain;, and the mountain burned with fire untoto the very heart of heaven, the withheavens: darkness, cloud, and thick darknessgloom. |
| 4:12 |
AndThen Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to you outfrom of the midst of the fire:; yeyou heard the voicesound of words, but yeyou saw no form; only ye heard a voice. |
| 4:13 |
AndSo heHe declared untoto you hisHis covenant, which heHe commanded you to perform, eventhat is, the tenTen commandmentsCommandments; and heHe wrote them uponon two tablestablets of stone. |
| 4:14 |
And Jehovahthe Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinancesjudgments, that yeyou might doperform them in the land whitherwhere yeyou goare going over to possess it. |
| 4:15 |
TakeSo yewatch thereforeyourselves goodcarefully, heedsince untoyou yourselves;did fornot yesee sawany no manner of form on the day thatthe JehovahLord spakespoke untoto you inat Horeb outfrom of the midst of the fire;, |
| 4:16 |
lest yeyou corruptact yourselves, corruptly and make you a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, |
| 4:17 |
the likeness of any beastanimal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that fliethflies in the heavenssky, |
| 4:18 |
the likeness of anything that creepethcreeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water underbelow the earth;. |
| 4:19 |
andAnd beware, lest thouyou lift up thineyour eyes untoto heaven, and whensee thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, thouand be drawn away and worship them, and serve them, those which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas allotted untoto all the peoples under the whole heaven. |
| 4:20 |
But Jehovahthe hathLord has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, outfrom of Egypt, to be unto him a people offor inheritanceHis own possession, as at this daytoday. |
| 4:21 |
FurthermoreNow Jehovahthe Lord was angry with me foron your sakesaccount, and swareswore that I should not gocross over the Jordan, and that I should not goenter inthe unto that good land, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethis theegiving foryou as an inheritance:. |
| 4:22 |
butFor I mustshall die in this land, I mustshall not gocross over the Jordan;, but yeyou shall gocross over, and possesstake thatpossession of this good land. |
| 4:23 |
TakeSo heedwatch unto yourselves, lest yeyou forget the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord your God, which heHe made with you, and make youfor yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas forbiddencommanded theeyou. |
| 4:24 |
For Jehovahthe thyLord your God is a devouringconsuming fire, a jealous God. |
| 4:25 |
When thouyou shaltbecome begetthe father of children, and childrens children, and ye shall have beenremained long in the land, and shallact corrupt yourselvescorruptly, and make aan gravenidol image in the form of anything, and shall do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovahthe thyLord your God, so as to provoke himHim to anger;, |
| 4:26 |
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this daytoday, that yeyou shall soonsurely utterly perish quickly from off the land whereuntowhere yeyou goare going over the Jordan to possess it;. yeYou shall not prolonglive yourlong dayson upon it, but shall be utterly be destroyed. |
| 4:27 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and yeyou shall be left few in number among the nations, whitherwhere Jehovahthe Lord shall leaddrive you away. |
| 4:28 |
And there yeyou shallwill serve gods, the work of mensmans hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. |
| 4:29 |
But from thencethere yeyou shallwill seek Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and thouyou shaltwill find him,Him whenif thouyou searchestsearch afterfor himHim with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul. |
| 4:30 |
When thouyou artare in tribulation, distress and all these things arehave come upon theeyou, in the latter days, thouyou shaltwill return to Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and hearkenlisten untoto hisHis voice:. |

| 4:33 |
DidHas everany a people hearheard the voice of God speaking outfrom of the midst of the fire, as thouyou hasthave heard it, and livesurvived? |
| 4:34 |
Or hathhas Goda assayedgod tried to go andto take himfor himself a nation from thewithin midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, accordingas tothe allLord that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? |

UntoTo theeyou it was showed, shown that thouyou mightestmight know that Jehovahthe heLord, He is God; there is noneno elseother besides himHim. |
| 4:36 |
Out of heaventhe heheavens madeHe theelet toyou hear hisHis voice, thatto hediscipline mightyou; instruct thee: and uponon earth heHe madelet theeyou to see hisHis great fire;, and thouyou heardestheard hisHis words outfrom of the midst of the fire. |
| 4:37 |
AndBecause becauseHe he loved thyyour fathers, therefore heHe chose their seeddescendants after them,. andAnd broughtHe theepersonally outbrought withyou hisfrom presence,Egypt withby hisHis great power, out of Egypt; |
| 4:38 |
todriving drive out nations from before theeyou nations greater and mightier than thouyou, to bring theeyou in, and to give theeyou their land for an inheritance, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 4:39 |
Know therefore this daytoday, and laytake it to thyyour heart, that Jehovahthe heLord, He is God in heaven above and uponon the earth beneathbelow; there is noneno elseother. |
| 4:40 |

| 4:47 |
And they took possession of his land in possession, and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyondacross the Jordan towardto the sunrising;east, |
| 4:48 |
from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, even untoas mountfar as Mount Sion thethat same is, Hermon, |
| 4:49 |
andwith all the Arabah beyondacross the Jordan eastwardto the east, even untoas far as the sea of the Arabah, underat the foot of the slopes of Pisgah. |

| 5:23 |
And it came to passabout, when yeyou heard the voice outfrom of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that yeyou came near untoto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;. |
| 5:24 |
andAnd yeyou said, Behold, Jehovahthe Lord our God hathhas showedshown us hisHis glory and hisHis greatness, and we have heard hisHis voice outfrom of the midst of the fire:; we have seen thistoday day that God dothspeaks speak with man, andyet he livethlives. |
| 5:25 |
Now thereforethen why should we die? forFor this great fire will consume us:; if we hear the voice of Jehovahthe Lord our God any morelonger, then we shall die. |
| 5:26 |
For who is there of all flesh, thatwho hathhas heard the voice of the living God speaking outfrom of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived? |
| 5:27 |
Go thou near, and hear all that Jehovahthe Lord our God shallsays; say:then and speak thouto unto us all that Jehovahthe Lord our God shallwill speak untoto thee;you, and we will hear it, and do it. |

Oh that therethey werehad such a heart in them, that they would fear meMe, and keep all myMy commandments always, that it mightmay be well with them, and with their childrensons for everforever! |
| 5:30 |
Go, say to them, Return ye to your tents. |
| 5:31 |
But as for theeyou, stand thou here by meMe, andthat I willmay speak untoto theeyou all the commandment, commandments and the statutes, and the ordinances, judgments which thouyou shaltshall teach them, that they may doobserve them in the land which I give them to possess it. |

| 6:2 |
so that thouyou mightestand your son and your grandson might fear Jehovahthe thyLord your God, to keep all hisHis statutes and hisHis commandments, which I command theeyou, thou, and thy son, and thy sons son, all the days of thyyour life;, and that thyyour days may be prolonged. |
| 6:3 |

| 6:4 |
Hear, O Israel:! JehovahThe Lord is our God, the Lord is one Jehovah:! |
| 6:5 |
andAnd thouyou shaltshall love Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart, and with all thyyour soul, and with all thyyour might. |
| 6:6 |
And these words, which I commandam theecommanding thisyou daytoday, shall be uponon thyyour heart; |
| 6:7 |
and thouyou shaltshall teach them diligently untoto thyyour children, sons and shaltshall talk of them when thouyou sittestsit in thyyour house, and when thouyou walkestwalk by the way, and when thouyou liestlie down, and when thouyou risestrise up. |
| 6:8 |
And thouyou shaltshall bind them foras a sign uponon thyyour hand, and they shall be foras frontletsfrontals betweenon thineyour eyesforehead. |
| 6:9 |
And thouyou shaltshall write them uponon the doordoorposts posts of thyyour house, and uponon thyyour gates. |
| 6:10 |
AndThen it shall be,come about when Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land which heHe swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give theeyou, great and goodlysplendid cities, which thouyou buildestdid not build, |
| 6:11 |
and houses full of all good things, which thouyou filledstdid not fill, and cisterns hewn out, cisterns which thouyou hewedstdid not dig, vineyards and olive trees, which thouyou plantedstdid not plant, and thouyou shaltshall eat and be full;satisfied, |
| 6:12 |
then bewarewatch yourself, lest thouyou forget Jehovah, the Lord who brought theeyou forthfrom out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondageslavery. |
| 6:13 |
ThouYou shaltshall fear Jehovahonly thythe Lord your God; and himyou shaltshall thouworship serveHim, and shalt swear by hisHis name. |
| 6:14 |
YeYou shall not gofollow after other gods, any of the gods of the peoples thatwho aresurround round about you;, |
| 6:15 |
for Jehovahthe thyLord your God in the midst of theeyou is a jealous God; lestotherwise the anger of Jehovahthe thyLord your God will be kindled against theeyou, and heHe destroywill theewipe fromyou off the face of the earth. |
| 6:16 |
YeYou shall not temptput Jehovahthe Lord your God to the test, as yeyou temptedtested himHim inat Massah. |
| 6:17 |
YeYou shallshould diligently keep the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord your God, and hisHis testimonies, and hisHis statutes, which heHe hathhas commanded theeyou. |
| 6:18 |
And thouyou shaltshall do thatwhat which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah;the Lord, that it may be well with thee, you and that thouyou mayestmay go in and possess the good land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore thyto give your fathers, |
| 6:19 |
toby thrustdriving out all thineyour enemies from before theeyou, as Jehovahthe hathLord has spoken. |
| 6:20 |
When thyyour son askethasks theeyou in time to come, saying, What meando the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, judgments mean which Jehovahthe Lord our God hath commanded you? |
| 6:21 |
then thouyou shaltshall say untoto thyyour son, We were Pharaohsslaves bondmento Pharaoh in Egypt:; and Jehovahthe Lord brought us outfrom of Egypt with a mighty hand;. |
| 6:22 |
andMoreover, Jehovahthe Lord showed great and distressing signs and wonders, greatbefore andour sore, eyes uponagainst Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyeshousehold; |
| 6:23 |
and heHe brought us out from thence, there thatin heorder mightto bring us in, to give us the land which heHe swarehad untosworn to our fathers. |
| 6:24 |
AndSo Jehovahthe Lord commanded us to doobserve all these statutes, to fear Jehovahthe Lord our God, for our good always, thatand hefor mightour preserve us alivesurvival, as atit thisis daytoday. |
| 6:25 |
And it shallwill be righteousness untofor us, if we observeare careful to doobserve all this commandment before Jehovahthe Lord our God, just as heHe hath commanded us. |
| 7:1 |
When Jehovahthe thyLord your God shall bring theeyou into the land whitherwhere thouyou goestare entering to possess it, and shall castclear outaway many nations before theeyou, the Hittite,Hittites and the Girgashite,Girgashites and the Amorite,Amorites and the Canaanite,Canaanites and the Perizzite,Perizzites and the Hivite,Hivites and the JebusiteJebusites, seven nations greater and mightierstronger than thou;you, |
| 7:2 |
and when Jehovahthe thyLord your God shall deliver them up before theeyou, and thouyou shaltshall smitedefeat them;, then thouyou shaltshall utterly destroy them:. thouYou shaltshall make no covenant with them, norand show mercyno untofavor to them;. |
| 7:3 |
neitherFurthermore, shaltyou thoushall makenot marriagesintermarry with them; thyyou daughtershall thou shalt not give untoyour hisdaughters sonto their sons, nor hisshall daughteryou shalttake thoutheir takedaughters untofor thyyour sonsons. |
| 7:4 |
For hethey will turn awayyour thysons sonaway from following me,Me thatto they may serve other gods:; sothen will the anger of Jehovahthe Lord will be kindled against you, and heHe will quickly destroy thee quicklyyou. |
| 7:5 |
But thus you shall yedo dealto with them: yeyou shall breaktear down their altars, and dashsmash intheir piecessacred their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire. |
| 7:6 |
For thouyou artare a holy people untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God:; Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas chosen theeyou to be a people for hisHis own possession, aboveout of all the peoples thatwho are uponon the face of the earth. |
| 7:7 |
JehovahThe Lord did not set hisHis love uponon you, nor choose you, because yeyou were more in number than any people;of the peoples, for yeyou were the fewest of all peoples:, |
| 7:8 |
but because Jehovahthe lovethLord loved you, and becausekept he would keep the oath which heHe swareswore untoto your fathersforefathers, haththe JehovahLord brought you out withby a mighty hand, and redeemed you outfrom of the house of bondageslavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. |
| 7:9 |
Know therefore that Jehovahthe thyLord your God, heHe is God, the faithful God, who keepethkeeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with themthose thatwho love himHim and keep hisHis commandments to a thousand generations,; |
| 7:10 |
andbut repayethrepays themthose thatwho hate himHim to their facefaces, to destroy them:; heHe will not bedelay slackwith to him thatwho hatethhates himHim, heHe will repay him to his face. |
| 7:11 |
ThouTherefore, shaltyou thereforeshall keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, judgments which I commandam theecommanding thisyou daytoday, to do them. |
| 7:12 |
AndThen it shall come to passabout, because yeyou hearkenlisten to these ordinances, judgments and keep and do them, that Jehovahthe thyLord your God will keep with theeyou theHis covenant and theHis lovingkindness which heHe swareswore untoto thyyour fathers:forefathers. |
| 7:13 |
andAnd heHe will love thee, you and bless thee, you and multiply theeyou; heHe will also bless the fruit of thyyour bodywomb and the fruit of thyyour ground, thyyour grain and thyyour new wine and thineyour oil, the increase of thyyour cattleherd and the young of thyyour flock, in the land which heHe swareswore untoto thyyour fathersforefathers to give theeyou. |
| 7:14 |
ThouYou shaltshall be blessed above all peoples:; there shall not be no male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. |
| 7:15 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will takeremove away from theeyou all sickness; and noneHe will not put on you any of the evilharmful diseases of Egypt, which thouyou knowest, have will he put upon theeknown, but He will lay them uponon all themwho that hate theeyou. |
| 7:16 |
And thouyou shaltshall consume all the peoples thatwhom Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallwill deliver untoto theeyou; thineyour eye shall not pity them:, neither shaltshall thouyou serve their gods;, for that willwould be a snare untoto theeyou. |
| 7:17 |
If thouyou shaltshould say in thyyour heart, These nations are moregreater than I; how can I dispossess them? |
| 7:18 |
thouyou shaltshall not be afraid of them:; thouyou shaltshall well remember what Jehovahthe thyLord your God did untoto Pharaoh, and untoto all Egypt;: |
| 7:19 |
the great trials which thineyour eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, wherebyby Jehovahwhich thythe Lord your God brought theeyou out:. soSo shall Jehovahthe thyLord your God do untoto all the peoples of whom thouyou artare afraid. |
| 7:20 |
Moreover, Jehovahthe thyLord your God will send the hornet amongagainst them, until theythose thatwho are left, and hide themselves, perish from beforeyou theeperish. |
| 7:21 |
ThouYou shaltshall not bedread affrighted at them;, for Jehovahthe thyLord your God is in theyour midst of thee, a great God and aawesome terribleGod. |
| 7:22 |
And Jehovahthe thyLord your God will castclear outaway thosethese nations before theeyou by little andby little:; thouyou mayestwill not consumebe able to put an end to them at oncequickly, lest the wild beasts ofgrow thetoo fieldnumerous increasefor upon theeyou. |
| 7:23 |
But Jehovahthe thyLord your God willshall deliver them up before theeyou, and will discomfitthrow them withinto a great discomfiture, confusion until they beare destroyed. |
| 7:24 |
And heHe will deliver their kings into thyyour hand, andso thouthat shaltyou shall make their name to perish from under heaven:; there shall no man will be able to stand before thee, you until thouyou have destroyed them. |
| 7:25 |
The graven images of their gods shallyou yeare to burn with fire:; thouyou shaltshall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it untofor theeyourselves, lest thouyou be snared therein;by it, for it is an abomination to Jehovahthe thyLord your God. |
| 7:26 |
And thouyou shaltshall not bring an abomination into thyyour house, and becomelike ait devotedcome thingunder likethe untoban; it:you thoushall shalt utterly detest it, and thouyou shaltshall utterly abhor it;, for it is asomething devoted thingbanned. |
| 8:1 |
All the commandmentcommandments whichthat I commandam theecommanding thisyou daytoday you shall yebe observecareful to do, that yeyou may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to give to your fathersforefathers. |
| 8:2 |
And thouyou shaltshall remember all the way which Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas led theeyou in the wilderness these forty years in the wilderness, that heHe might humble theeyou, totesting prove theeyou, to know what was in thyyour heart, whether thouyou wouldestwould keep hisHis commandments, or not. |
| 8:3 |
And heHe humbled thee, you and sufferedlet theeyou tobe hungerhungry, and fed theeyou with manna, which thouyou knewestdid not know, neithernor did thyyour fathers know;, that heHe might make theeyou knowunderstand that man dothdoes not live by bread onlyalone, but man lives by everything that proceedethproceeds out of the mouth of Jehovahthe doth man liveLord. |
| 8:4 |
ThyYour raimentclothing waxeddid not oldwear uponout theeon you, neithernor did thyyour foot swell, these forty years. |
| 8:5 |
AndThus thouyou shaltare considerto know in thyyour heart, that, asthe aLord manyour chastenethGod hiswas son, disciplining soyou Jehovahjust thyas Goda chastenethman theedisciplines his son. |
| 8:6 |
AndTherefore, thouyou shaltshall keep the commandments of Jehovahthe thyLord your God, to walk in hisHis ways, and to fear himHim. |
| 8:7 |
For Jehovahthe thyLord your God bringethis theebringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; |
| 8:8 |
a land of wheat and barley, andof vines and fig trees and pomegranates;, a land of olive treesoil and honey; |
| 8:9 |
a land whereinwhere thouyou shaltshall eat breadfood without scarcenessscarcity, thouin shaltwhich you shall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thouyou mayestcan dig copper. |
| 8:10 |
AndWhen thouyou shalthave eateaten and beare fullsatisfied, andyou thoushall shalt bless Jehovahthe thyLord your God for the good land which heHe hathhas given theeyou. |
| 8:11 |
Beware lest thouyou forget Jehovahthe thyLord your God, inby not keeping hisHis commandments, and hisHis ordinances, and hisHis statutes, which I commandam theecommanding thisyou day:today; |
| 8:12 |
lest, when thouyou hasthave eaten and artare fullsatisfied, and hasthave built goodlygood houses, and dweltlived therein;in them, |
| 8:13 |
and when thyyour herds and thyyour flocks multiply, and thyyour silver and thy gold is multipliedmultiply, and all that thouyou hasthave is multiplied;multiplies, |
| 8:14 |
then thyyour heart bebecomes lifted upproud, and thouyou forget Jehovahthe thyLord your God, who brought theeyou forth out offrom the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;slavery. |
| 8:15 |
whoHe led theeyou through the great and terrible wilderness, whereinwith wereits fiery serpents and scorpions, and thirsty ground where there was no water; whoHe brought theewater forthfor wateryou out of the rock of flint;. |
| 8:16 |
whoIn fedthe theewilderness inHe thefed wildernessyou with manna, which thyyour fathers knewdid not; know, that heHe might humble thee, you and that heHe might provetest theeyou, to do thee good atfor thyyou latterin the end:. |
| 8:17 |
andOtherwise, lestyou thoumay say in thyyour heart, My power and the mightstrength of my hand hathmade gotten me this wealth. |
| 8:18 |
But thouyou shaltshall remember Jehovahthe thyLord your God, for it is heHe thatwho givethis theegiving you power to getmake wealth;, that heHe may establishconfirm hisHis covenant which heHe swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, as atit is this day. |
| 8:19 |
And it shall be,come about if thouyou shaltever forget Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and walkgo after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you thistoday day that yeyou shall surely perish. |
| 8:20 |
AsLike the nations that Jehovahthe makethLord makes to perish before you, so you shall ye perish; because yeyou would not hearkenlisten untoto the voice of Jehovahthe Lord your God. |
| 9:1 |
Hear, O Israel:! thouYou artare tocrossing pass over the Jordan thistoday day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than thyselfyou, cities great andcities fortified up to heaven, |
| 9:2 |
a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom thouyou knowest, know and of whom thouyou hasthave heard sayit said, Who can stand before the sons of Anak? |
| 9:3 |
Know therefore thistoday day, that Jehovahit thyis Godthe isLord heyour God who goethis crossing over before theeyou as a devouringconsuming fire;. heHe will destroy them, and heHe will bringsubdue them down before thee:you, so shaltthat thouyou may drive them out, and makedestroy them to perish quickly, just as Jehovahthe hathLord has spoken untoto theeyou. |
| 9:4 |
SpeakDo not thousay in thyyour heart, afterwhen thatthe JehovahLord thyyour God hathhas thrustdriven them out from before theeyou, saying,Because Forof my righteousness Jehovahthe hathLord has brought me in to possess this land;, whereasbut forit is because of the wickedness of these nations Jehovahthat doththe driveLord themis outdispossessing fromthem before theeyou. |
| 9:5 |
NotIt is not for thyyour righteousness, or for the uprightness of thyyour heart, dostthat thouyou goare ingoing to possess their land;, but forit is because of the wickedness of these nations Jehovahthat thythe Lord your God dothis drivedriving them out from before theeyou, andin thatorder heto mayconfirm establish the wordoath which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore thyto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. |
| 9:6 |
Know, thereforethen, it is not because of your righteousness that Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethis theegiving notyou this good land to possess, it for thyyou righteousness;are for thou art a stiffneckedstubborn people. |
| 9:7 |
Remember, forgetdo thou not, forget how thouyou provokedstprovoked Jehovahthe thyLord your God to wrath in the wilderness:; from the day that thouyou wentestleft forth out of the land of Egypt, until yeyou camearrived untoat this place, yeyou have been rebellious against Jehovahthe Lord. |
| 9:8 |
AlsoEven inat Horeb yeyou provoked Jehovahthe Lord to wrath, and Jehovahthe Lord was so angry with you tothat destroyHe would have destroyed you. |
| 9:9 |
When I waswent gone up intoto the mountmountain to receive the tablestablets of stone, even the tablestablets of the covenant which Jehovahthe Lord had made with you, then I aboderemained inon the mountmountain forty days and forty nights; I did neither eatate bread nor drinkdrank water. |
| 9:10 |
And Jehovahthe deliveredLord untogave me the two tablestablets of stone written withby the finger of God; and on them waswere written according to all the words, which Jehovahthe spakeLord had spoken with you inat the mountmountain outfrom of the midst of the fire inon the day of the assembly. |
| 9:11 |
And it came toabout pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Jehovahthe Lord gave me the two tablestablets of stone, even the tablestablets of the covenant. |
| 9:12 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, Arise, getgo thee down quickly from hence;here quickly, for thyyour people thatwhom thouyou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corruptedacted themselves;corruptly. theyThey arehave quickly turned aside outfrom of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image for themselves. |
| 9:13 |
FurthermoreThe JehovahLord spakespoke untofurther to me, saying, I have seen this people, and, beholdindeed, it is a stiffneckedstubborn people:. |
| 9:14 |
letLet meMe alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of theeyou a nation mightier and greater than they. |
| 9:15 |
So I turned and came down from the mount, mountain andwhile the mountmountain was burning with fire:, and the two tablestablets of the covenant were in my two hands. |
| 9:16 |
And I looked, saw and, that behold, you ye had indeed sinned against Jehovahthe Lord your God;. yeYou had made youfor yourselves a molten calf:; yeyou had turned aside quickly outfrom of the way which Jehovahthe Lord had commanded you. |
| 9:17 |
And I took hold of the two tables, tablets and castthrew them outfrom of my two hands, and brakesmashed them before your eyes. |
| 9:18 |
And I fell down before Jehovahthe Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights; I did neither eatate bread nor drinkdrank water;, because of all your sin which yeyou sinned, had committed in doing thatwhat which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, the Lord to provoke himHim to anger. |
| 9:19 |
For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewithwith Jehovahwhich the Lord was wrothwrathful against you in order to destroy you., Butbut Jehovahthe hearkenedLord untolistened to me that time also. |
| 9:20 |
And Jehovahthe Lord was very angry enough with Aaron to destroy him:; andso I also prayed for Aaron also at the same time. |
| 9:21 |
And I took your sinsinful thing, the calf which yeyou had made, and burntburned it with fire, and stampedcrushed it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust:; and I castthrew theits dust thereof into the brook that descendedcame outdown offrom the mountmountain. |
| 9:22 |
AndAgain at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth hattaavah, yeyou provoked Jehovahthe Lord to wrath. |
| 9:23 |
And when Jehovahthe Lord sent you from Kadesh barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you;, then yeyou rebelled against the commandmentcommand of Jehovahthe Lord your God,; andyou yeneither believed himHim not, nor hearkenedlistened to hisHis voice. |
| 9:24 |
YeYou have been rebellious against Jehovahthe Lord from the day that I knew you. |
| 9:25 |
So I fell down before Jehovahthe Lord the forty days and forty nights, thatwhich I felldid down, because Jehovahthe Lord had said heHe would destroy you. |
| 9:26 |
And I prayed untoto Jehovahthe Lord, and said, O Lord JehovahGod, destroydo not thydestroy Thy people, andeven thineThine inheritance, thatwhom thouThou hast redeemed through thyThy greatness, thatwhom thouThou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand. |
| 9:27 |
Remember thyThy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; lookdo not untolook at the stubbornness of this people, noror toat their wickedness, noror to their sin,. |
| 9:28 |
lestOtherwise the land whencefrom thouwhich broughtestThou didst bring us outmay say, Because Jehovahthe Lord was not able to bring them into the land which heHe had promised unto them, and because heHe hated them, heHe hathhas brought them out to slay them in the wilderness. |
| 9:29 |
Yet they are thyThy people, andeven thineThine inheritance, whichwhom thouThou broughtesthast brought out by thyThy great power and byThine thine outstretched arm. |
| 10:1 |
At that time Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, HewCut theeout for yourself two tablestablets of stone like unto the firstformer ones, and come up untoto meMe intoon the mountmountain, and make thee an ark of wood for yourself. |
| 10:2 |
And I will write on the tablestablets the words that were on the firstformer tablestablets which thouyou brakestshattered, and thouyou shaltshall put them in the ark. |
| 10:3 |
So I made an ark of acacia wood, and hewedcut out two tablestablets of stone like unto the firstformer ones, and went up intoon the mount, mountain havingwith the two tablestablets in my hand. |
| 10:4 |
And heHe wrote on the tablestablets, accordinglike to the firstformer writing, the tenTen commandments,Commandments which Jehovahthe spakeLord untohad spoken to you inon the mountmountain outfrom of the midst of the fire inon the day of the assembly:; and Jehovahthe Lord gave them untoto me. |
| 10:5 |
AndThen I turned and came down from the mountmountain, and put the tablestablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as Jehovahthe Lord commanded me. |
| 10:6 |
AndNow the childrensons of Israel journeyedset out from Beeroth Bene jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered inas thepriest priests office in his steadplace. |
| 10:7 |
From thencethere they journeyedset untoout to Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water. |
| 10:8 |
At that time Jehovahthe Lord set apart the tribe of Levi, to bearcarry the ark of the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord, to stand before Jehovahthe Lord to ministerserve untoHim him, and to bless in hisHis name, untountil this day. |
| 10:9 |
WhereforeTherefore, Levi hathdoes nonot have a portion noror inheritance with his brethrenbrothers; Jehovahthe Lord is his inheritance, accordingjust as Jehovahthe thyLord your God spakespoke untoto him. |
| 10:10 |
And I, stayed in the mountmoreover, asstayed aton the firstmountain time, forty days and forty nights: like the first time, and Jehovahthe hearkenedLord untolistened to me that time also; Jehovahthe wouldLord was not willing to destroy theeyou. |
| 10:11 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, Arise, takeproceed thyon your journey beforeahead of the people;, andthat they shallmay go in and possess the land, which I swareswore untoto their fathers to give unto them. |
| 10:12 |
And now, Israel, what dothdoes Jehovahthe thyLord your God require offrom theeyou, but to fear Jehovahthe thyLord your God, to walk in all hisHis ways, and to love himHim, and to serve Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart and with all thyyour soul, |
| 10:13 |
and to keep the Lords commandments of Jehovah, and hisHis statutes, which I commandam theecommanding thisyou daytoday for thyyour good? |
| 10:14 |
Behold, untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God belongethbelong heaven and the heavenhighest of heavens, the earth, withand all that is thereinin it. |
| 10:15 |
OnlyYet Jehovahon hadyour afathers delightdid inthe thyLord fathersset His affection to love them, and heHe chose their seeddescendants after them, even you above all peoples, as atit is this day. |
| 10:16 |
Circumcise thereforethen the foreskin of your heart, and bestiffen your neck no more stiffnecked. |
| 10:17 |
For Jehovahthe Lord your God, he is the God of gods, and the Lord of Lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terrible, awesome God who regardethdoes not personsshow partiality, nor takethtake rewarda bribe. |
| 10:18 |
He dothexecutes execute justice for the fatherlessorphan and the widow, and lovethshows His love for the sojourner, alien inby giving him food and raimentclothing. |
| 10:19 |
LoveSo yeshow thereforeyour love for the sojourner;alien, for yeyou were sojournersaliens in the land of Egypt. |
| 10:20 |
ThouYou shaltshall fear Jehovahthe thyLord your God; himyou shaltshall thou serve; Him and cling to himHim, shaltand thouyou cleave, shall andswear by hisHis name shalt thou swear. |
| 10:21 |
He is thyyour praise, and heHe is thyyour God, thatwho hathhas done for thee these great and terribleawesome things, for you which thineyour eyes have seen. |
| 10:22 |
ThyYour fathers went down intoto Egypt withseventy threescorepersons andin tenall, persons; and now Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas made theeyou as numerous as the stars of heaven for multitude. |
| 11:1 |
ThereforeYou thoushall shalttherefore love Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and always keep hisHis charge, andHis his statutes, andHis his ordinances, and hisHis commandments, alway. |
| 11:2 |
And know ye this day: forthat I speakam not speaking with your childrensons thatwho have not known, and thatwho have not seen the chastisementdiscipline of Jehovahthe Lord your God, hisHis greatness, hisHis mighty hand, and hisHis outstretched arm, |
| 11:3 |
and hisHis signs, and hisHis works, which heHe did in the midst of Egypt untoto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and untoto all his land; |
| 11:4 |
and what heHe did untoto theEgypts army of Egypt, untoto theirits horses, and toits their chariots;, howwhen heHe made the water of the Red Sea to overflowengulf them aswhile they pursuedwere afterpursuing you, and howthe JehovahLord hathcompletely destroyed them unto this day; |
| 11:5 |
and what heHe did untoto you in the wilderness, until yeyou came untoto this place; |
| 11:6 |
and what heHe did untoto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben;, howwhen the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, inamong the midst of all Israel: |
| 11:7 |
but your own eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovahthe Lord which heHe did. |
| 11:8 |
ThereforeYou shall yetherefore keep allevery the commandment which I commandam theecommanding thisyou daytoday, so that yeyou may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whitherinto yewhich goyou overare about to cross to possess it; |
| 11:9 |
andso that yeyou may prolong your days inon the land, which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to your fathers to give untoto them and to their seeddescendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. |
| 11:10 |
For the land, whitherinto thouwhich goestyou inare entering to possess it, is not aslike the land of Egypt, from whencewhich yeyou came out, where thouyou sowedstused thyto sow your seed, and wateredstwater it with thyyour foot, aslike a vegetable garden of herbs;. |
| 11:11 |
butBut the land, whitherinto yewhich goyou overare about to cross to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, anddrinks drinketh water offrom the rain of heaven, |
| 11:12 |
a land for which Jehovahthe thyLord your God carethcares; for: the eyes of Jehovahthe thyLord your God are always uponon it, from the beginning of the year even untoto the end of the year. |
| 11:13 |
And it shall come to passabout, if yeyou shalllisten hearkenobediently diligentlyto unto my commandments which I commandam commanding you this daytoday, to love Jehovahthe Lord your God, and to serve himHim with all your heart and with all your soul, |
| 11:14 |
that IHe will give the rain offor your land in its season, the formerearly rain and thelate latter rain, that thouyou mayestmay gather in thyyour grain, and thyyour new wine, and thineyour oil. |
| 11:15 |
And IHe will give grass in thyyour fields for thyyour cattle, and thouyou shaltshall eat and be fullsatisfied. |
| 11:16 |
Take heed to yourselvesBeware, lest your hearthearts be deceived, and yeyou turn aside, away and serve other gods, and worship them;. |
| 11:17 |
andOr the anger of Jehovahthe Lord will be kindled against you, and heHe will shut up the heavens, so that there shallwill be no rain, and the landground shallwill not yield its fruit; and yeyou will perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovahthe givethLord is giving you. |
| 11:18 |
ThereforeYou shall yetherefore layimpress up these my words inof mine on your heart and inon your soul; and yeyou shall bind them foras a sign uponon your hand, and they shall be foras frontletsfrontals betweenon your eyesforehead. |
| 11:19 |
And yeyou shall teach them to your childrensons, talking of them, when thouyou sittestsit in thyyour house, and when thouyou walkestwalk byalong the way, road and when thouyou liestlie down, and when thouyou risestrise up. |
| 11:20 |
And thouyou shaltshall write them uponon the doordoorposts posts of thyyour house, and uponon thyyour gates;, |
| 11:21 |
so that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, sons inmay be multiplied on the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore to your fathers to give them, as thelong daysas of the heavens remain above the earth. |
| 11:22 |
For if yeyou shallare diligentlycareful to keep all this commandment which I commandam commanding you, to do it, to love Jehovahthe Lord your God, to walk in all hisHis ways, and tohold cleavefast untoto himHim; |
| 11:23 |
then the Lord will Jehovah drive out all these nations from before you, and yeyou shallwill dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselvesyou. |
| 11:24 |
Every place whereonon which the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours:; your border shall be from the wilderness, andto Lebanon, and from the river, the river Euphrates, evenas untofar as the hinderwestern sea shall be your border. |
| 11:25 |
There shall no man be able to stand before you:; Jehovahthe Lord your God shall lay the feardread of you and the dreadfear of you uponon all the land thaton yewhich shallyou treadset uponfoot, as heHe hathhas spoken untoto you. |
| 11:26 |
BeholdSee, I setam setting before you thistoday day a blessing and a curse: |
| 11:27 |
the blessing, if yeyou shalllisten hearkento unto the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord your God, which I commandam commanding you this daytoday; |
| 11:28 |
and the curse, if yeyou shalldo not hearkenlisten untoto the commandments of Jehovahthe Lord your God, but turn aside outfrom of the way which I commandam commanding you this daytoday, toby gofollowing after other gods, which yeyou have not known. |
| 11:29 |
And it shall come to passabout, when Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallbrings bringyou thee into the land whitherwhere thouyou goestare entering to possess it, that thouyou shaltshall setplace the blessing uponon mountMount Gerizim, and the curse uponon mountMount Ebal. |
| 11:30 |

| 12:2 |
YeYou shall surelyutterly destroy all the places whereinwhere the nations thatwhom yeyou shall dispossess servedserve their gods, uponon the high mountains, and uponon the hills, and under every green tree:. |

| 12:4 |
YeYou shall not doact solike untothis Jehovahtoward the Lord your God. |
| 12:5 |
But untoyou shall seek the Lord at the place which Jehovahthe Lord your God shall choose outfrom of all your tribes, to putestablish hisHis name there, evenfor untoHis his habitation shall ye seekdwelling, and thitherthere thouyou shaltshall come;. |

| 12:8 |
YeYou shall not do afterat all thewhat thingswe thatare wedoing do here this daytoday, every man whatsoeverdoing whatever is right in his own eyes; |
| 12:9 |
for yeyou arehave not as yet come to the restresting place and to the inheritance, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethis theegiving you. |
| 12:10 |
ButWhen whenyou yecross go over the Jordan, and dwelllive in the land which Jehovahthe Lord your God causethis giving you to inherit, and heHe givethgives you rest from all your enemies roundaround about, you so that yeyou dwelllive in safety;security, |

Only yeyou shall not eat the blood; thouyou shaltare to pour it out uponon the earthground aslike water. |
| 12:17 |
ThouYou mayestare not allowed to eat within thyyour gates the tithe of thyyour grain, or of thy new wine, or of thine oil, or the firstlingsfirstborn of thyyour herd or of thy flock, noror any of thyyour vowsvotive offerings which thouyou vowestvow, noror thyyour freewill offerings, noror the heavecontribution offering of thyyour hand;. |
| 12:18 |
butBut thouyou shaltshall eat them before Jehovahthe thyLord your God in the place which Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallwill choose, thou, you and thyyour son, and thy daughter, and thyyour manmale servant, and thyfemale maid servantservants, and the Levite thatwho is within thyyour gates:; and thouyou shaltshall rejoice before Jehovahthe thyLord your God in all thatyour thou puttest thy hand untoundertakings. |

| 12:30 |
takebeware heed to thyself that thouyou beare not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee;you, and that thouyou inquiredo not inquire after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods?, eventhat soI willalso Imay do likewise.? |
| 12:31 |
ThouYou shaltshall not dobehave sothus untotoward Jehovahthe thyLord your God:, for every abominationabominable toact Jehovah, which hethe hateth,Lord havehates they have done untofor their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods. |

| 13:3 |
thouyou shaltshall not hearkenlisten untoto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams:; for Jehovahthe Lord your God provethis testing you, to knowfind whetherout yeif you love Jehovahthe Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. |

YeYou shall walkfollow afterthe JehovahLord your God, and fear him,Him; and you shall keep hisHis commandments, andlisten obeyto hisHis voice, and ye shall serve himHim, and cleavecling untoto himHim. |
| 13:5 |
AndBut that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he hathhas spokencounseled rebellion against Jehovahthe Lord your God, who brought you outfrom of the land of Egypt, and redeemed theeyou outfrom of the house of bondageslavery, to drawseduce theeyou asidefrom out of the way in which Jehovahthe thyLord your God commanded theeyou to walk in. So shaltyou thoushall putpurge away the evil from theamong midst of theeyou. |
| 13:6 |
If thyyour brother, theyour mothers son of thy mother, or thyyour son, or thy daughter, or the wife ofyou thy bosomcherish, or thyyour friend, thatwho is as thineyour own soul, entice theeyou secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, whichwhom thouneither hastyou notnor known, your thou, fathers norhave thy fathers;known, |

thouyou shaltshall not consentyield untoto him, noror hearkenlisten untoto him; neitherand your eye shall thinenot eye pity him, neithernor shaltshall thouyou spare, neitheror shalt thou conceal him:. |
| 13:9 |
butBut thouyou shaltshall surely kill him; thyyour hand shall be first uponagainst him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. |
| 13:10 |
AndSo thouyou shaltshall stone him to death with stones, because he hathhas sought to drawseduce theeyou away from Jehovahthe thyLord your God, who brought theeyou out offrom the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondageslavery. |
| 13:11 |
AndThen all Israel shallwill hear, and fearbe afraid, and shallwill donever noagain moredo any such wickednessa aswicked thisthing isamong in the midst of theeyou. |
| 13:12 |
If thouyou shalt hear tellin concerning one of thyyour cities, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethis theegiving you to dwelllive therein, anyone saying, that |
| 13:13 |
Certainsome baseworthless fellowsmen arehave gone out from theamong midstyou of thee, and have drawnseduced away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, whichwhom yeyou have not known;, |
| 13:14 |
then shaltyou thoushall inquire, investigate and make search, out and askinquire diligently;thoroughly. and,And behold, if it beis truth, true and the thingmatter certain, established that suchthis abomination ishas wroughtbeen indone theamong midst of theeyou, |
| 13:15 |
thouyou shaltshall surely smitestrike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying it utterly, and all that is thereinin it and theits cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. |
| 13:16 |
AndThen thouyou shaltshall gather all theits spoilbooty of it into the midstmiddle of theits streetopen thereof, square and shalt burn with fire the city, and all theits spoilbooty thereofwith everyfire whit,as untoa Jehovahwhole thyburnt offering to the Lord your God:; and it shall be a heapruin forforever. ever;It it shall notnever be built againrebuilt. |
| 13:17 |
And therenothing shallfrom cleavethat noughtwhich ofis put under the devotedban thingshall cling to thyyour hand;, in order that Jehovahthe Lord may turn from theHis fiercenessburning of his anger, and show theemercy mercyto you, and have compassion uponon thee, you and multiplymake theeyou increase, just as heHe hathhas sworn untoto thyyour fathers;, |
| 13:18 |
whenif thouyou shaltwill hearkenlisten to the voice of Jehovahthe thyLord your God, tokeeping keep all hisHis commandments which I commandam theecommanding thisyou daytoday, toand dodoing thatwhat which is right in the eyessight of Jehovahthe thyLord your God. |
| 14:1 |
YeYou are the childrensons of Jehovahthe Lord your God:; yeyou shall not cut yourselves, nor makeshave anyyour baldnessforehead betweenfor yourthe eyessake forof the dead. |
| 14:2 |
For thouyou artare a holy people untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God,; and Jehovahthe hathLord has chosen theeyou to be a people for hisHis own possession, aboveout of all the peoples thatwho are uponon the face of the earth. |
| 14:3 |
ThouYou shaltshall not eat any abominabledetestable thing. |

For Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas chosen him outand ofhis sons from all thyyour tribes, to stand toand ministerserve in the name of Jehovah, the himLord and his sons for everforever. |
| 18:6 |
AndNow if a Levite comecomes from any of thyyour gatestowns outthroughout of all Israel, where he sojournethresides, and comecomes withwhenever allhe thedesires desireto of his soul unto the place which Jehovahthe shallLord choose;chooses, |

For thesethose nations, thatwhich thouyou shaltshall dispossess, hearkenlisten untoto themthose thatwho practisepractice augury, witchcraft and untoto diviners;, but as for theeyou, Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas not sufferedallowed theeyou so to do so. |
| 18:15 |
JehovahThe thyLord your God will raise up untofor theeyou a prophet fromlike theme midstfrom ofamong theeyou, offrom thyyour brethrencountrymen, likeyou untoshall me;listen untoto him ye shall hearken;. |
| 18:16 |
This is according to all that thouyou desiredstasked of Jehovahthe thyLord your God in Horeb inon the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovahthe Lord my God, neither let me not see this great fire any moreanymore, thatlest I die not. |
| 18:17 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto me, They have spoken well said that which they have spoken. |
| 18:18 |
I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, countrymen like untoyou, thee; and I will put myMy words in his mouth, and he shall speak untoto them all that I shall command him. |
| 18:19 |
And it shall come toabout pass, that whosoeverwhoever will not hearkenlisten untoto myMy words which he shall speak in myMy name, I Myself will require it of him. |
| 18:20 |
But the prophet, thatwho shall speak a word presumptuously in myMy name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or thatwhich he shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die. |
| 18:21 |
And ifyou thoumay say in thyyour heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovahthe hathLord has not spoken? |
| 18:22 |
whenWhen a prophet speakethspeaks in the name of Jehovahthe Lord, if the thing followdoes not, norcome about or come to passtrue, that is the thing which Jehovahthe hathLord has not spoken:. theThe prophet hathhas spoken it presumptuously,; thouyou shaltshall not be afraid of him. |
| 19:1 |
When Jehovahthe thyLord your God shallcuts cut off the nations, whose land Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethgives theeyou, and thouyou succeedestdispossess them, and dwellestsettle in their cities, and in their houses;, |
| 19:2 |
thouyou shaltshall set apartaside three cities for theeyourself in the midst of thyyour land, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethgives theeyou to possess it. |
| 19:3 |
ThouYou shaltshall prepare thee the wayroads for yourself, and divide into three parts the bordersterritory of thyyour land, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God causethwill theegive toyou inherit,as intoa three partspossession, so that everyany manslayer may flee thitherthere. |
| 19:4 |
AndNow this is the case of the manslayer, thatwho shallmay flee thitherthere and live: whosowhen killethhe kills his neighborfriend unawaresunintentionally, andnot hatedhating him not in time past;previously |
| 19:5 |
as when a man goethgoes into the forest with his neighborfriend to hewcut wood, and his hand fetchethswings a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the iron head slippethslips fromoff the helve, handle and lightethstrikes upon his neighbor, friend so that he dieth;dies he shallmay flee untoto one of these cities and live:; |
| 19:6 |
lest the avenger of blood pursue the manslayer, whilein histhe heartheat isof hothis anger, and overtake him, because the way is long, and smitetake himhis mortally;life, whereasthough he was not worthydeserving of death, inasmuchsince as he hatedhad him not inhated timehim pastpreviously. |
| 19:7 |
WhereforeTherefore, I command theeyou, saying, ThouYou shaltshall set apartaside three cities for theeyourself. |
| 19:8 |
And if Jehovahthe thyLord your God enlargeenlarges thyyour borderterritory, just as heHe hathhas sworn untoto thyyour fathers, and givegives theeyou all the land which heHe promised to give untoyour thy fathers; |
| 19:9 |
if thouyou shaltcarefully keepobserve all this commandment to do it, which I command theeyou this daytoday, to love Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and to walk ever in hisHis ways; always then shaltyou thoushall add three more cities more for theeyourself, besides these three:. |
| 19:10 |
thatSo innocent blood bewill not be shed in the midst of thyyour land, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God givethgives theeyou foras an inheritance, and sobloodguiltiness blood be uponon theeyou. |
| 19:11 |
But if anythere is a man hatewho hates his neighbor, and lielies in wait for him, and riserises up against him, and smitestrikes him mortally so that he diethdies, and he fleeflees intoto one of these cities;, |
| 19:12 |
then the elders of his city shall send and fetchtake him thence, from there and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. |
| 19:13 |

These are the words of the covenant which Jehovahthe Lord commanded Moses to make with the childrensons of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which heHe had made with them inat Horeb. |
| 29:2 |
And Moses calledsummoned unto all Israel, and said untoto them, YeYou have seen all that Jehovahthe Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt untoto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; |
| 29:3 |
the great trials which thineyour eyes sawhave seen, thethose great signs, and those great wonders:. |
| 29:4 |
butYet Jehovahto haththis day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, andnor eyes to see, andnor ears to hear, unto this day. |
| 29:5 |
And I have led you forty years in the wilderness:; your clothes arehave not waxedworn oldout uponon you, and thyyour shoesandal ishas not waxedworn oldout uponon thyyour foot. |
| 29:6 |
YeYou have not eaten bread, neithernor have yeyou drunk wine or strong drink;, in order that yeyou maymight know that I am Jehovahthe Lord your God. |
| 29:7 |
AndWhen whenyou yereached came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out againstto meet us untofor battle, andbut we smotedefeated them:; |
| 29:8 |
and we took their land, and gave it foras an inheritance untoto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of the Manassites. |
| 29:9 |
KeepSo thereforekeep the words of this covenant, andto do them, that yeyou may prosper in all that yeyou do. |
| 29:10 |
YeYou stand thistoday, day all of you, before Jehovahthe Lord your God;: your headschiefs, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel, |
| 29:11 |
your little ones, your wives, and thythe sojourneralien thatwho is inwithin theyour midst of thy camps, from the hewerone ofwho thychops your wood untoto the drawerone ofwho thydraws your water;, |
| 29:12 |
that thouyou mayestmay enter into the covenant ofwith Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and into hisHis oath, which Jehovahthe thyLord your God makethis making with theeyou this day;today, |
| 29:13 |
in order that heHe may establish theeyou thistoday dayas untoHis himself for a people, and that heHe may be untoyour thee a God, just as heHe spakespoke untoto thee, you and as heHe swareswore untoto thyyour fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. |
| 29:14 |
NeitherNow not with you onlyalone doam I makemaking this covenant and this oath, |
| 29:15 |
but both with himthose thatwho standethstand here with us thistoday dayin beforethe Jehovahpresence of the Lord our God, and also with himthose thatwho isare not here with us thishere daytoday |
| 29:16 |
for yeyou know how we dweltlived in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the nations through which yeyou passed;. |
| 29:17 |
andMoreover, yeyou have seen their abominations, and their idols, of wood, and stone, silver, and gold, which werethey amonghad with them; |
| 29:18 |
lest there shouldshall be among you a man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turnethturns away thistoday day from Jehovahthe Lord our God, to go toand serve the gods of those nations; lest there shouldshall be among you a root thatbearing bearethpoisonous gallfruit and wormwood;. |
| 29:19 |
andAnd it comeshall tobe pass, when he hearethhears the words of this curse, that he blesswill himself in his heartboast, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, in order to destroy the moistwatered land with the dry. |
| 29:20 |
JehovahThe willLord notshall pardonnever be willing to forgive him, but thenrather the anger of Jehovahthe Lord and hisHis jealousy will smokeburn against that man, and allevery the curse thatwhich is written in this book shallwill lierest uponon him, and Jehovahthe Lord will blot out his name from under heaven. |
| 29:21 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord will setsingle him apartout untofor eviladversity outfrom of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant thatwhich isare written in this book of the law. |
| 29:22 |
AndNow the generation to come, your childrensons thatwho shall rise up after you, and the foreigner thatwho shallcomes come from a fardistant land, shall say, when they see the plagues of thatthe land, and the sicknessesdiseases wherewithwith Jehovahwhich haththe madeLord has afflicted it, sick;will say, |
| 29:23 |
andAll thatits the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning waste, thatunsown itand is not sownunproductive, norand beareth,no norgrass anygrows grassin groweth thereinit, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovahthe Lord overthrew in hisHis anger, and in hisHis wrath:. |
| 29:24 |
evenAnd all the nations shall say, WhereforeWhy hathhas Jehovahthe Lord done thus untoto this land? whatWhy meaneththis thegreat heatoutburst of this great anger? |
| 29:25 |
Then men shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord, the God of their fathers, which heHe made with them when heHe brought them forth out of the land of Egypt,. |
| 29:26 |
andAnd they went and served other gods, and worshippedworshiped them, gods thatwhom they knewhave not, known and thatwhom heHe had not givenallotted untoto them:. |
| 29:27 |
thereforeTherefore, the anger of Jehovahthe wasLord kindledburned against thisthat land, to bring upon it allevery the curse thatwhich is written in this book; |
| 29:28 |
and Jehovahthe rootedLord uprooted them outfrom of their land in anger, and in wrath, fury and in great indignationwrath, and cast them into another land, as atit is this day. |
| 29:29 |
The secret things belong untoto Jehovahthe Lord our God;, but the things that are revealed belong untoto us and to our childrensons for everforever, that we may doobserve all the words of this law. |
| 30:1 |
AndSo it shall comebe to pass, when all of these things arehave come upon theeyou, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before theeyou, and thouyou shalt call them to mind amongin all the nations, whitherwhere Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas drivenbanished theeyou, |
| 30:2 |
and shaltyou return untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God, and shalt obey hisHim voicewith all your heart and soul according to all that I command theeyou this daytoday, thouyou and thyyour childrensons, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul; |
| 30:3 |
that then Jehovahthe thyLord your God will turnrestore thyyou from captivity, and have compassion uponon theeyou, and will returngather andyou gatheragain thee from all the peoples, whitherwhere Jehovahthe thyLord your God hathhas scattered theeyou. |
| 30:4 |
If anyyour of thine outcasts beare inat the uttermostends parts of heaventhe earth, from thencethere willthe JehovahLord thyyour God will gather theeyou, and from thencethere He will hebring fetchyou thee:back. |
| 30:5 |
andAnd Jehovahthe thyLord your God will bring theeyou into the land which thyyour fathers possessed, and thouyou shaltshall possess it; and heHe will doprosper theeyou good, and multiply theeyou abovemore thythan your fathers. |
| 30:6 |
AndMoreover Jehovahthe thyLord your God will circumcise thyyour heart, and the heart of thyyour seeddescendants, to love Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart, and with all thyyour soul, in order that thouyou mayestmay live. |
| 30:7 |
And Jehovahthe thyLord your God will putinflict all these curses uponon thineyour enemies, and on themthose thatwho hate theeyou, thatwho persecuted theeyou. |
| 30:8 |
And thouyou shaltshall returnagain and obey the voice of JehovahLord, and doobserve all hisHis commandments which I command theeyou this daytoday. |
| 30:9 |
AndThen Jehovahthe thyLord your God will makeprosper theeyou plenteousabundantly in all the work of thyyour hand, in the fruitoffspring of thyyour body, and in the fruitoffspring of thyyour cattle, and in the fruitproduce of thyyour ground, for good:the forLord Jehovah will again rejoice over theeyou for good, just as heHe rejoiced over thyyour fathers; |
| 30:10 |
if thouyou shalt obey the voiceLord ofyour Jehovah thy God, to keep hisHis commandments and hisHis statutes which are written in this book of the law;, if thouyou turn untoto Jehovahthe thyLord your God with all thyyour heart, and with all thy soul. |
| 30:11 |
For this commandment which I command theeyou thistoday day, it is not too harddifficult for theeyou, neithernor is it farout offof reach. |
| 30:12 |
It is not in heaven, that thouyou shouldestshould say, Who shallwill go up to heaven for us to heaven, get and bring it untofor us, and make us to hear it, that we may doobserve it? |
| 30:13 |
NeitherNor is it beyond the sea, that thouyou shouldestshould say, Who shallwill gocross over the sea for us, andto bringget it untofor us, and make us to hear it, that we may doobserve it? |
| 30:14 |
But the word is very nighnear unto theeyou, in thyyour mouth, and in thyyour heart, that thouyou mayestmay doobserve it. |
| 30:15 |
See, I have set before theeyou thistoday day life and goodprosperity, and death and eviladversity; |
| 30:16 |
in that I command theeyou thistoday day to love Jehovahthe thyLord your God, to walk in hisHis ways, and to keep hisHis commandments and hisHis statutes and hisHis ordinancesjudgments, that thouyou mayestmay live and multiply, and that Jehovahthe thyLord your God may bless theeyou in the land whitherwhere thouyou goestare inentering to possess it. |
| 30:17 |
But if thyyour heart turnturns away, and thouyou wiltwill not hearobey, but shaltare be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;, |
| 30:18 |
I denouncedeclare untoto you thistoday day, that yeyou shall surely perish;. yeYou shall not prolong your days in the land, whitherwhere thouyou passestare overcrossing the Jordan to goenter inand to possess it. |
| 30:19 |
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this daytoday, that I have set before theeyou life and death, the blessing and the curse:. thereforeSo choose life, in order that thouyou mayestmay live, thouyou and thyyour seed;descendants, |
| 30:20 |
toby loveloving Jehovahthe thyLord your God, toby obeyobeying hisHis voice, and toby cleaveholding untofast himto Him; for hethis is thyyour life, and the length of thyyour days;, that thouyou mayestmay dwelllive in the land which Jehovahthe swareLord untoswore thyto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. |
| 31:1 |
AndSo Moses went and spakespoke these words untoto all Israel. |
| 31:2 |
And he said untoto them, I am a hundred and twenty years old this daytoday; I canam no morelonger goable outto come and comego, in: and Jehovahthe hathLord has said untoto me, ThouYou shaltshall not gocross over this Jordan. |
| 31:3 |
JehovahIt thyis the Lord your God, hewho will gocross overahead beforeof theeyou; heHe will destroy these nations from before theeyou, and thouyou shaltshall dispossess them:. and Joshua, heis shallthe goone overwho beforewill theecross ahead of you, just as Jehovahthe hathLord has spoken. |
| 31:4 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will do untoto them just as heHe did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and untoto their land;, whomwhen heHe destroyed them. |
| 31:5 |
And Jehovahthe Lord will deliver them up before you, and yeyou shall do untoto them according untoto all the commandmentcommandments which I have commanded you. |
| 31:6 |
Be strong and of good couragecourageous, feardo not, nor be affrightedafraid or tremble at them:, for Jehovahthe thyLord your God, heis itthe isone thatwho dothgoes go with thee;you. heHe will not fail thee, you noror forsake theeyou. |
| 31:7 |
AndThen Moses called untoto Joshua, and said untoto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and ofcourageous, good courage: for thouyou shaltshall go with this people into the land which Jehovahthe hathLord has sworn untoto their fathers to give them;, and thouyou shaltshall causegive themit to inheritthem itas an inheritance. |
| 31:8 |
And Jehovah, the heLord it is thatthe dothone gowho beforegoes theeahead of you; heHe will be with thee, you. heHe will not fail thee, you neitheror forsake thee:you. fearDo not fear, neitheror be dismayed. |
| 31:9 |
AndSo Moses wrote this law, and deliveredgave it untoto the priests, the sons of Levi, thatwho barecarried the ark of the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord, and untoto all the elders of Israel. |
| 31:10 |
AndThen Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, inat the set time of the year of releaseremission of debts, inat the feastFeast of tabernaclesBooths, |
| 31:11 |
when all Israel iscomes come to appear before Jehovahthe thyLord your God inat the place which heHe shallwill choose, thouyou shaltshall read this law beforein front of all Israel in their hearing. |
| 31:12 |
Assemble the people, the men and the women and thechildren little ones, and thythe sojourneralien thatwho is withinin thyyour gatestown, in order that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Jehovahthe Lord your God, and observebe careful to doobserve all the words of this law;. |
| 31:13 |
andAnd that their children, who have not known, maywill hear, and learn to fear Jehovahthe Lord your God, as long as yeyou live inon the land whitherwhich yeyou goare overabout to cross the Jordan to possess it. |
| 31:14 |
AndThen Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses, Behold, thythe daystime approachfor thatyou thouto must die: is near; call Joshua, and present yourselves inat the tent of meeting, that I may givecommission him a charge. AndSo Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves inat the tent of meeting. |
| 31:15 |
And Jehovahthe Lord appeared in the Tenttent in a pillar of cloud:, and the pillar of cloud stood overat the doordoorway of the Tenttent. |
| 31:16 |
And Jehovahthe Lord said untoto Moses, Behold, thouyou shaltare sleepabout to lie down with thyyour fathers; and this people will risearise up, and play the harlot afterwith the strange gods of the land, whitherinto theythe gomidst toof bewhich amongthey themare going, and will forsake me,Me and break myMy covenant which I have made with them. |
| 31:17 |
Then myMy anger shallwill be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide myMy face from them, and they shall be devouredconsumed, and many evils and troubles shall come upon them; so that they will say in that day, AreIs it not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us that these evils have come upon us? |
| 31:18 |
AndBut I will surely hide myMy face in that day forbecause of all the evil which they shallwill have wroughtdo, infor that they arewill turnedturn untoto other gods. |
| 31:19 |
Now therefore, write ye this song for youyourselves, and teach thou it to the childrensons of Israel:; put it inon their mouthslips, in order that this song may be a witness for meMe against the childrensons of Israel. |
| 31:20 |
For when I shallbring have brought them into the land whichflowing Iwith swaremilk untoand their fathershoney, flowingwhich withI milkswore andto honeytheir fathers, and they shall have eaten and filledare themselves, satisfied and waxedbecome fat;prosperous, then they will they turn untoto other gods, and serve them, and despisespurn me,Me and break myMy covenant. |
| 31:21 |
AndThen it shall come to passabout, when many evils and troubles arehave come upon them, that this song shallwill testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten outfrom of the mouthslips of their seed:descendants; for I know their imaginationintent which they frameare thisdeveloping daytoday, before I have brought them into the land which I swareswore. |
| 31:22 |
So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the childrensons of Israel. |
| 31:23 |
AndThen heHe gavecommissioned Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and ofcourageous, good courage; for thouyou shaltshall bring the childrensons of Israel into the land which I swareswore untoto them:, and I will be with theeyou. |
| 31:24 |
And it came to passabout, when Moses hadfinished made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finishedcomplete, |
| 31:25 |
that Moses commanded the Levites, thatwho barecarried the ark of the covenant of Jehovahthe Lord, saying, |
| 31:26 |
Take this book of the law, and putplace it bybeside the sideark of the arkcovenant of the covenantLord of Jehovah your God, that it may beremain there foras a witness against theeyou. |
| 31:27 |
For I know thyyour rebellion, and thyyour stiffstubbornness; neck: behold, while I am yetstill alive with you this daytoday, yeyou have been rebellious against Jehovahthe Lord; and how much more, then, after my death? |
| 31:28 |
Assemble untoto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, hearing and call heaventhe heavens and the earth to witness against them. |
| 31:29 |
For I know that after my death yeyou will utterlyact corruptcorruptly yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days;, becausefor yeyou will do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovahthe Lord, toprovoking provokeHim him to anger throughwith the work of your hands. |
| 31:30 |
AndThen Moses spakespoke in the earshearing of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.complete: |
| 32:1 |
Give ear, yeO heavens, and Ilet willme speak; And let the earth hear the words of my mouth. |
| 32:2 |
MyLet doctrinemy shallteaching drop as the rain;, My speech shalldistill distil as the dew, As the smalldroplets rainon upon the tenderfresh grass, And as the showers uponon the herb. |
| 32:3 |
For I will proclaim the name of Jehovah:the Lord; Ascribe ye greatness untoto our God.! |
| 32:4 |
The Rock,! hisHis work is perfect;, For all hisHis ways are justice:just; A God of faithfulness and without iniquityinjustice, JustRighteous and rightupright is heHe. |
| 32:5 |
They have dealtacted corruptly withtoward himHim, theyThey are not hisHis children, itbecause isof their blemishdefect; TheyBut are a perverse and crooked generation. |
| 32:6 |
Do yeyou thus requiterepay Jehovahthe Lord, O foolish people and unwise people? Is not heHe thyyour fatherFather thatwho hathhas bought theeyou? He hathhas made thee, you and established theeyou. |
| 32:7 |
Remember the days of old, Consider the years of manyall generations:. Ask thyyour father, and he will showinform thee;you, ThineYour elders, and they will tell theeyou. |
| 32:8 |
When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, When heHe separated the childrensons of menman, He set the boundsboundaries of the peoples According to the number of the childrensons of Israel. |
| 32:9 |
For Jehovahsthe Lords portion is hisHis people; Jacob is the lotallotment of hisHis inheritance. |
| 32:10 |
He found him in a desert land, And in the howling waste howlingof a wilderness; He compassedencircled him about, heHe cared for him, He keptguarded him as the applepupil of hisHis eye. |
| 32:11 |
AsLike an eagle that stirrethstirs up herits nest, That flutterethhovers over herits young, He spread abroadHis his wings, heand tookcaught them, He barecarried them on hisHis pinions. |
| 32:12 |
JehovahThe Lord alone didguided lead him, And there was no foreign god with him. |
| 32:13 |
He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he didate eat the increaseproduce of the field; And heHe made him to suck honey outfrom of the rock, And oil outfrom of the flinty rock;, |
| 32:14 |
ButterCurds of the herdcows, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs, And rams, of the breed of Bashan, and goats, With the finest of the wheat; And of the blood of thegrapes grapeyou thoudrank drankest wine. |
| 32:15 |
But Jeshurun waxedgrew fat, and kicked: ThouYou artare waxedgrown fat, thou art grown thick, thouand art become sleek; Then he forsook God who made him, And lightlyscorned esteemed the Rock of his salvation. |
| 32:16 |
They movedmade himHim tojealous jealousy with strange gods; With abominations they provoked theyHim him to anger. |
| 32:17 |
They sacrificed untoto demons, whichwho were nonot God, To gods thatwhom they knewhave not known, ToNew new gods thatwho came up of latelately, WhichWhom your fathers dreadeddid not dread. |
| 32:18 |
OfYou neglected the Rock thatwho begatbegot thee thou art unmindfulyou, And hastforgot forgottenthe God thatwho gave theeyou birth. |
| 32:19 |
And Jehovahthe Lord saw itthis, and abhorredspurned them, Because of the provocation of hisHis sons and his daughters. |
| 32:20 |
AndThen heHe said, I will hide myMy face from them, I will see what their end shall be:; For they are a very perverse generation, ChildrenSons in whom is no faithfulness. |
| 32:21 |
They have movedmade meMe tojealous jealousy with thatwhat which is not God; They have provoked meMe to anger with their vanities:idols. AndSo I will movemake them tojealous jealousy with those thatwho are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation., |
| 32:22 |
For a fire is kindled in mineMy anger, And burnethburns untoto the lowest part of Sheol, And devourethconsumes the earth with its increaseyield, And settethsets on fire the foundations of the mountains. |
| 32:23 |
I will heap evilsmisfortunes uponon them; I will spenduse mineMy arrows uponon them:. |
| 32:24 |
They shall be wasted withby hungerfamine, and devouredconsumed withby burningplague heat And bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts I will I send upon them, With the poisonvenom of crawling things of the dust. |
| 32:25 |

| 32:27 |
WereHad itI not that I feared the provocation ofby the enemy, Lest their adversaries should judge amissmisjudge, Lest they should say, Our hand is exaltedtriumphant, And Jehovahthe hathLord has not done all this. |

For they are a nation voidlacking ofin counsel, And there is no understanding in them. |
| 32:29 |
OhWould that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would considerdiscern their latter endfuture! |
| 32:30 |
How shouldcould one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, ExceptUnless their Rock had sold them, And Jehovahthe Lord had deliveredgiven them up? |
| 32:31 |
ForIndeed their rock is not aslike our Rock, Even our enemies themselves beingjudge judgesthis. |
| 32:32 |
For their vine is offrom the vine of Sodom, And offrom the fields of Gomorrah:; Their grapes are grapes of gallpoison, Their clusters, are bitter:. |

Their wine is the poisonvenom of serpents, And the crueldeadly venompoison of aspscobras. |
| 32:34 |
Is it not this laid up in store with meMe, Sealed up amongin myMy treasurestreasuries? |
| 32:35 |
Vengeance is mineMine, and recompenseretribution, AtIn thedue time when their foot shallwill slide:slip; For the day of their calamity is at handnear, And the impending things that are tohastening come upon them shall make haste. |
| 32:36 |
For Jehovahthe Lord will judgevindicate hisHis people, And repentwill himselfhave forcompassion hison His servants; When heHe seethsees that their powerstrength is gone, And there is none remaining, shutbond up or left at largefree. |
| 32:37 |
And heHe will say, Where are their gods, The rock in which they tooksought refuge;? |

| 32:44 |
AndThen Moses came and spakespoke all the words of this song in the earshearing of the people, he, andwith HosheaJoshua the son of Nun. |
| 32:45 |
AndWhen Moses madehad anfinished end of speaking all these words to all Israel;, |
| 32:46 |
and he said untoto them, SetTake to your heart unto all the words with which I testifyam untowarning you this daytoday, which yeyou shall command your childrensons to observe to docarefully, even all the words of this law. |
| 32:47 |
For it is nonot vainan thingidle word for you; becauseindeed it is your life,. andAnd throughby this thingword yeyou shall prolong your days in the land, whitherwhich yeyou goare overabout to cross the Jordan to possess it. |
| 32:48 |
And Jehovahthe spakeLord untospoke to Moses that selfsamevery same day, saying, |

| 32:50 |
andThen die inon the mountmountain whitherwhere thouyou goest upascend, and be gathered untoto thyyour people, as Aaron thyyour brother died inon mountMount Hor, and was gathered untoto his people:, |
| 32:51 |
because yeyou trespassedbroke againstfaith mewith Me in the midst of the childrensons of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadeshkadesh, in the wilderness of Zin;, because yeyou sanctifieddid me not treat Me as holy in the midst of the childrensons of Israel. |
| 32:52 |
For thouyou shaltshall see the land beforeat thee;a distance, but thouyou shaltshall not go thitherthere, into the land which I giveam giving the childrensons of Israel. |
| 33:1 |
AndNow this is the blessing, wherewithwith which Moses the man of God blessed the childrensons of Israel before his death. |
| 33:2 |
And he said, JehovahThe Lord came from Sinai, And rosedawned on them from Seir unto them; He shinedshone forth from mountMount Paran, And heHe came from the midst of ten thousandsthousand of holy ones:; At hisHis right hand there was aflashing fierylightning law for them. |
| 33:3 |
YeaIndeed, heHe lovethloves the people; All hisThy saintsholy ones are in thyThy hand:, And they satfollowed downin atThy thy feetsteps; EveryEveryone onereceives shall receive of thyThy words. |
