| 1:1 |
In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon untocame to Jerusalem, and besieged it. |
| 1:2 |
And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with partsome of the vessels of the house of God; and he carriedbrought them intoto the land of Shinar, to the house of his god:, and he brought the vessels into the treasuretreasury house of his god. |
| 1:3 |
AndThen the king spakeordered unto Ashpenaz, the masterchief of his eunuchsofficials, thatto he should bring in certainsome of the childrensons of Israel, evenincluding some of the seed royal family and of the nobles;, |
| 1:4 |
youths in whom was no blemishdefect, butwho wellwere favoredgood looking, andshowing skilfulintelligence in allevery branch of wisdom, andendowed endued with knowledgeunderstanding, and understandingdiscerning scienceknowledge, and suchwho as had ability tofor standserving in the kings palacecourt; and that he shouldordered him to teach them the learningliterature and thelanguage tongue of the Chaldeans. |
| 1:5 |
And the king appointed for them a daily portionration offrom the kings dainties, choice food and offrom the wine which he drank, and appointed that they should be nourishededucated three years;, that at the end thereofof which they shouldwere standto beforeenter the kingkings personal service. |
| 1:6 |
Now among thesethem were, from of the childrensons of Judah, were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. |
| 1:7 |
AndThen the princecommander of the eunuchsofficials gaveassigned new names untoto them:; untoand to Daniel he gaveassigned the name of Belteshazzar;, and to Hananiah, of Shadrach;, and to Mishael, of Meshach;, and to Azariah, of Abed nego. |
| 1:8 |
But Daniel purposedmade inup his heartmind that he would not defile himself with the kings dainties, choice norfood or with the wine which he drank:; thereforeso he requestedsought ofpermission from the princecommander of the eunuchsofficials that he might not defile himself. |
| 1:9 |
Now God madegranted Daniel tofavor find kindness and compassion in the sight of the princecommander of the eunuchs.officials, |
| 1:10 |
Andand the princecommander of the eunuchsofficials said untoto Daniel, I fearam afraid of my Lord the king, who hathhas appointed your food and your drink:; for why should he see your faces worse looking more haggard than the youths thatwho are of your own age? soThen you would yemake endangerme forfeit my head withto the king. |
| 1:11 |
ThenBut Daniel said Daniel to the stewardoverseer whom the princecommander of the eunuchsofficials had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:, |
| 1:12 |
ProvePlease thytest your servants, Ifor beseech thee, ten days;, and let themus givebe usgiven pulsesome vegetables to eat, and water to drink. |
| 1:13 |
Then let our countenancesappearance be lookedobserved uponin beforeyour theepresence, and the countenanceappearance of the youths thatwho eatare ofeating the kings daintieschoice food; and asdeal thouwith seest, your dealservants withaccording thyto servantswhat you see. |
| 1:14 |
So he hearkenedlistened untoto them in this matter, and provedtested them for ten days. |
| 1:15 |
And at the end of ten days their countenancesappearance appearedseemed fairer, better and they were fatter in flesh, than all the youths thatwho didhad eatbeen ofeating the kings daintieschoice food. |
| 1:16 |
So the stewardoverseer tookcontinued awayto withhold their dainties, choice food and the wine that they shouldwere to drink, and gavekept giving them pulsevegetables. |
| 1:17 |
NowAnd as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skillintelligence in allevery learningbranch of literature and wisdom:; and Daniel hadeven understandingunderstood in all kinds of visions and dreams. |
| 1:18 |
AndThen at the end of the days which the king had appointedspecified for bringingpresenting them in, the princecommander of the eunuchsofficials broughtpresented them in before Nebuchadnezzar. |
| 1:19 |
And the king communedtalked with them;, and amongout of them all not one was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:; thereforeso stood they beforeentered the kingkings personal service. |
| 1:20 |
And inas for every matter of wisdom and understanding, concerningabout which the king inquiredconsulted of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchantersconjurers thatwho were in all his realm. |
| 1:21 |
And Daniel continued evenuntil unto the first year of Cyrus the king Cyrus. |
| 2:1 |
AndNow in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamedhad dreams; and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep wentleft from him. |
| 2:2 |
Then the king commandedgave orders to call in the magicians, and the enchantersconjurers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king. |
| 2:3 |
And the king said untoto them, I havehad dreamed a dream, and my spirit is troubledanxious to knowunderstand the dream. |
| 2:4 |
Then spake the Chaldeans spoke to the king in theAramaic: Syrian language, O king, live forforever! ever:Tell tellthe thydream servantsto theyour dreamservants, and we will showdeclare the interpretation. |
| 2:5 |
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thingcommand isfrom goneme fromis mefirm: if yeyou makedo not make known untoto me the dream and theits interpretation thereof, yeyou shallwill be cuttorn inlimb piecesfrom limb, and your houses shallwill be made a dunghillrubbish heap. |
| 2:6 |
But if yeyou showdeclare the dream and theits interpretation thereof, yeyou shallwill receive offrom me gifts and rewardsa reward and great honor:; therefore showdeclare to me the dream and theits interpretation thereof. |
| 2:7 |
They answered thea second time and said, Let the king tell the dream to his servants the dream, and we will showdeclare the interpretation. |
| 2:8 |
The king answered and said, I know offor acertain certainty that yeyou wouldare gainbargaining for time, becauseinasmuch yeas seeyou thehave thingseen isthat gonethe command from me. is firm, |
| 2:9 |
Butthat if yeyou makedo not make the dream known untoto me the dream, there is butonly one lawdecree for you;. forFor yeyou have preparedagreed together to speak lying and corrupt words to speak before me, tilluntil the timesituation beis changed:; therefore tell me the dream, andthat I shallmay know that yeyou can showdeclare to me theits interpretation thereof. |
| 2:10 |
The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man uponon the earth thatwho cancould showdeclare the kingsmatter matterfor the king, forasmuchinasmuch as no great king, Lord, or ruler, hathhas ever asked suchanything alike thingthis of any magician, orconjurer enchanter, or Chaldean. |
| 2:11 |
AndMoreover, itthe is a rare thing thatwhich the king requirethdemands is difficult, and there is no otherone thatelse canwho showcould declare it beforeto the king, except the gods, whose dwelling place is not with mortal flesh. |
| 2:12 |
ForBecause of this cause the king wasbecame angryindignant and very furious, and commandedgave orders to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. |
| 2:13 |
So the decree went forth, andthat the wise men wereshould to be slain; and they soughtlooked for Daniel and his companionsfriends to bekill slainthem. |
| 2:14 |
Then Daniel returnedreplied answer with counseldiscretion and prudencediscernment to Arioch, the captain of the kings guardbodyguard, who washad gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon; |
| 2:15 |
he answered and said to Arioch, the kings captaincommander, WhereforeFor what reason is the decree so urgent from the king so urgent? Then Arioch madeinformed theDaniel thingabout knownthe to Danielmatter. |
| 2:16 |
AndSo Daniel went in, and desiredrequested of the king that he would appointgive him a time, andin order that he wouldmight showdeclare the kinginterpretation to the interpretationking. |
| 2:17 |
Then Daniel went to his house, and madeinformed thehis thingfriends, known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, hisabout companions:the matter, |
| 2:18 |
in order that they wouldmight desirerequest merciescompassion offrom the God of heaven concerning this secret;mystery, so that Daniel and his companionsfriends shouldmight not perishbe destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. |
| 2:19 |
Then was the secretmystery was revealed untoto Daniel in a night vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.; |
| 2:20 |
Daniel answered and said, BlessedLet be the name of God forbe everblessed forever and ever;, forFor wisdom and mightpower arebelong histo Him. |
| 2:21 |
And heit changethis He who changes the times and the seasonsepochs; heHe removethremoves kings, and settethestablishes up kings; heHe givethgives wisdom untoto thewise wisemen, andAnd knowledge to themmen thatof have understanding;. |
| 2:22 |
heIt revealethis He who reveals the deepprofound and secrethidden things; heHe knowethknows what is in the darkness, andAnd the light dwellethdwells with himHim. |
| 2:23 |
ITo thank theeThee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, whoI give thanks and praise, For Thou hast given me wisdom and might, power; andEven now Thou hast now made known untoto me what we desiredrequested of thee;Thee, forFor thouThou hast made known untoto us the kings matter. |
| 2:24 |
Therefore, Daniel went in untoto Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he went and saidspoke thusto untohim himas follows: DestroyDo not destroy the wise men of Babylon;! bringTake me ininto before the kingkings presence, and I will showdeclare unto the kinginterpretation to the interpretationking. |
| 2:25 |
Then Arioch hurriedly brought in Daniel beforeinto the kingkings inpresence haste, and saidspoke thusto unto him, as follows: I have found a man ofamong the childrenexiles offrom theJudah captivitywho ofcan Judah, make thatthe willinterpretation make known untoto the king the interpretation.! |
| 2:26 |
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, ArtAre thouyou able to make known untoto me the dream which I have seen, and theits interpretation thereof? |
| 2:27 |
Daniel answered before the king, and said, TheAs secretfor the mystery about which the king hathhas demandedinquired, can neither wise men, enchantersconjurers, magicians, nor soothsayers, diviners showare untoable to declare it to the king;. |
| 2:28 |
butHowever, there is a God in heaven thatwho revealethreveals secretsmysteries, and heHe hathhas made known to theKing king Nebuchadnezzar what shallwill betake place in the latter days. ThyThis was your dream, and the visions ofin thyyour headmind uponwhile thyon your bed, are these:. |
| 2:29 |
asAs for theeyou, O king, thywhile thoughtson cameyour intobed thyyour mindthoughts uponturned thyto bed, what shouldwould cometake toplace passin hereafterthe future; and heHe thatwho revealethreveals secretsmysteries hathhas made known to theeyou what shallwill cometake to passplace. |
| 2:30 |
But as for me, this secretmystery ishas not been revealed to me for any wisdom thatresiding Iin haveme more than in any other living man, but tofor the intentpurpose thatof making the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that thouyou mayestmay knowunderstand the thoughts of thyyour heartmind. |
| 2:31 |
ThouYou, O king, sawest, were looking and, behold, there was a single great image.statue; Thisthat imagestatue, which was mighty, large and whoseof brightnessextraordinary splendor, was excellent, standing stoodin beforefront thee;of you, and theits aspectappearance thereof was terribleawesome. |
| 2:32 |
AsThe forhead thisof image, that itsstatue head was made of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brassbronze, |
| 2:33 |
its legs of iron, its feet partpartly of iron, and partpartly of clay. |
| 2:34 |
ThouYou sawestcontinued tilllooking thatuntil a stone was cut out without hands, whichand smoteit struck the imagestatue uponon its feet that were of iron and clay, and brakecrushed them in pieces. |
| 2:35 |
Then was the iron, the clay, the brassbronze, the silver, and the gold, brokenwere incrushed piecesall togetherat the same time, and became like the chaff offrom the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that nonot placea trace of them was found. forBut them: and the stone that smotestruck the imagestatue became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. |
| 2:36 |
This iswas the dream; andnow we willshall tell theits interpretation thereof before the king. |
| 2:37 |
ThouYou, O king, artare the king of kings, untoto whom the God of heaven hathhas given the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory; |
| 2:38 |
and wheresoeverwherever the childrensons of men dwell, or the beasts of the field, andor the birds of the heavenssky, hathHe hehas given them into thyyour hand, and hathhas madecaused theeyou to rule over them all:. thouYou artare the head of gold. |
| 2:39 |
And after theeyou shallthere will arise another kingdom inferior to thee;you, andthen another third kingdom of brassbronze, which shallwill bear rule over all the earth. |
| 2:40 |
AndThen thethere will be a fourth kingdom shallas be strong as iron,; forasmuchinasmuch as iron breakethcrushes in pieces and subduethshatters all things;, andso, aslike iron that crushethbreaks allin thesepieces, shall it will crush and break all these in pieces and crush. |
| 2:41 |
And whereasin thouthat sawestyou saw the feet and toes, partpartly of potters clay, and partpartly of iron, it shallwill be a divided kingdom; but thereit shallwill behave in it of the strengthtoughness of the iron, forasmuchinasmuch as thouyou sawestsaw the iron mixed with mirycommon clay. |
| 2:42 |
And as the toes of the feet were partpartly of iron, and partpartly of claypottery, so some of the kingdom shallwill be partly strong, and partlypart brokenof it will be brittle. |
| 2:43 |
And whereasin thouthat sawestyou saw the iron mixed with mirycommon clay, they shallwill minglecombine themselves with one another in the seed of men; but they shallwill not cleaveadhere to one to another, even as iron dothdoes not minglecombine with claypottery. |
| 2:44 |
And in the days of those kings shall the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shallwill never be destroyed, norand shallthat thekingdom sovereigntywill thereofnot be left tofor another people; but it shallwill breakcrush inand piecesput andan consumeend to all these kingdoms, andbut it shallwill standitself forendure everforever. |
| 2:45 |
ForasmuchInasmuch as thouyou sawestsaw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brakecrushed in pieces the iron, the brassbronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold;, the great God hathhas made known to the king what shallwill cometake toplace passin hereafter:the andfuture; so the dream is certaintrue, and theits interpretation thereofis suretrustworthy. |
| 2:46 |
Then theKing king Nebuchadnezzar fell uponon his face, and worshippeddid homage to Daniel, and commandedgave thatorders theyto shouldpresent offerto him an oblationoffering and sweetfragrant odors unto himincense. |
| 2:47 |
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, OfSurely a truth your God is thea God of gods, and thea Lord of kings, and a revealer of secretsmysteries, seeingsince thouyou hasthave been able to reveal this secretmystery. |
| 2:48 |
Then the king madepromoted Daniel great, and gave him many great gifts, and he made him toruler rule over the whole province of Babylon, and to be chief governorprefect over all the wise men of Babylon. |
| 2:49 |
And Daniel requestedmade request of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, over the affairsadministration of the province of Babylon:, butwhile Daniel was inat the gatekings of the kingcourt. |
| 3:1 |
Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whosethe height of which was threescoresixty cubits, and theits breadthwidth thereof six cubits:; he set it up inon the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. |
| 3:2 |
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent word to gatherassemble together the satraps, the deputies, prefects and the governors, the judgescounselors, the treasurers, the counsellorsjudges, the sheriffs, magistrates and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image whichthat Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. |
| 3:3 |
Then the satraps, the deputies, prefects and the governors, the judgescounselors, the treasurers, the counsellorsjudges, the sheriffs, magistrates and all the rulers of the provinces, were gatheredassembled togetherfor unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. |
| 3:4 |
Then the herald criedloudly aloud, proclaimed: To you itthe command is commandedgiven, O peoples, nations, and languagesmen of every language, |
| 3:5 |
that at whatthe timemoment yeyou hear the sound of the cornethorn, flute, harplyre, sackbuttrigon, psaltery, dulcimerbagpipe, and all kinds of music, yeyou are to fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hathhas set up;. |
| 3:6 |
andBut whosowhoever fallethdoes not fall down and worshippethworship shall theimmediately same hour be cast into the midst of a burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire. |
| 3:7 |
Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the cornethorn, flute, harplyre, sackbuttrigon, psaltery, bagpipe, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and themen languages,of every language fell down and worshippedworshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. |
| 3:8 |
WhereforeFor this reason at that time certain Chaldeans came near, forward and brought accusationcharges against the Jews. |
| 3:9 |
They answeredresponded and said to Nebuchadnezzar the king,: O king, live for ever.forever! |
| 3:10 |
ThouYou yourself, O king, hasthave made a decree, that every man thatwho shallhears hear the sound of the cornethorn, flute, harplyre, sackbuttrigon, psaltery, and dulcimerbagpipe, and all kinds of music, shallis to fall down and worship the golden image;. |
| 3:11 |
andBut whosowhoever fallethdoes not fall down and worshippeth, worship shall be cast into the midst of a burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire. |
| 3:12 |
There are certain Jews whom thouyou hasthave appointed over the affairsadministration of the province of Babylon:, namely Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego;. theseThese men, O king, have notdisregarded regardedyou; thee: they servedo not thyserve your gods, noror worship the golden image which thouyou hasthave set up. |
| 3:13 |
Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and furyanger commandedgave orders to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego.; Thenthen they brought these men were brought before the king. |
| 3:14 |
Nebuchadnezzar answeredresponded and said untoto them, Is it of purposetrue, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, that yeyou servedo not serve my god, gods noror worship the golden image whichthat I have set up? |
| 3:15 |
Now if yeyou beare ready, that at whatthe timemoment yeyou hear the sound of the cornethorn, flute, harplyre, sackbuttrigon, psaltery, and dulcimerbagpipe, and all kinds of music, yeto fall down and worship the image whichthat I have made, very well:. butBut if yeyou worshipwill not worship, yeyou shallwill immediately be cast the same hour into the midst of a burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire; and whowhat god is thatthere godwho thatcan shall deliver you out of my hands? |
| 3:16 |
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we havedo nonot need to give you an answer theeconcerning in this matter. |
| 3:17 |
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire; and heHe will deliver us out of thyyour hand, O king. |
| 3:18 |
But even if He does not, belet it be known untoto theeyou, O king, that we willare not going to serve thyyour gods, noror worship the golden image whichthat thouyou hasthave set up. |
| 3:19 |
Then Nebuchadnezzar was Nebuchadnezzarfilled fullwith of furywrath, and thehis formfacial ofexpression his visage was changedaltered againsttoward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego:. thereforeHe heanswered spake,by andgiving commandedorders thatto they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was wontusually to be heated. |
| 3:20 |
And he commanded certain mightyvaliant menwarriors thatwho were in his army to bindtie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, andin order to cast them into the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire. |
| 3:21 |
Then these men were boundtied up in their hosentrousers, their tunicscoats, and their mantles, caps and their other garmentsclothes, and were cast into the midst of the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire. |
| 3:22 |
ThereforeFor this reason, because the kings commandmentcommand was urgent, and the furnace exceedinghad been made extremely hot, the flame of the fire slew those men thatwho tookcarried up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego. |
| 3:23 |
AndBut these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burningfurnace fieryof furnaceblazing fire still tied up. |
| 3:24 |
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, astounded and rosestood up in haste:; he spakeresponded and said untoto his counsellorshigh officials, DidWas it not three men we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said untoto the king, TrueCertainly, O king. |
| 3:25 |
He answered and said, Lo,Look! I see four men loose, loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire, andwithout theyharm, have no hurt; and the aspectappearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.! |
| 3:26 |
Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouthdoor of the burningfurnace fieryof furnace:blazing fire; he spakeresponded and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, yecome out, you servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come hither.here! Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego came forth out of the midst of the fire. |
| 3:27 |
And the satraps, the deputiesprefects, and the governors, and the kings counsellors, high beingofficials gathered together, around and saw in regard to these men, that the fire had no powereffect uponon theirthe bodies, of these men nor was the hair of their head singed, neithernor were their hosentrousers changeddamaged, nor had the smell of fire passedeven oncome upon them. |
| 3:28 |
Nebuchadnezzar spakeresponded and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, who hathhas sent hisHis angel, and delivered hisHis servants thatwho trustedput their trust in himHim, andviolating have changed the kings wordcommand, and have yielded up their bodies, thatso theyas might not to serve noror worship any god, except their own God. |
| 3:29 |
Therefore, I make a decree, that everyany people, nation, andor language, tongue whichthat speakspeaks anything amissoffensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego, shall be cuttorn inlimb pieces, from limb and their houses shallreduced beto made a dunghill;rubbish becauseheap, inasmuch as there is no other god thatwho is able to deliver afterin this sortway. |
| 3:30 |
Then the king promotedcaused Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed nego to prosper in the province of Babylon. |
| 4:1 |
Nebuchadnezzar the king, untoto all the peoples, nations, and languages, men of every language that dwelllive in all the earth: PeaceMay beyour multipliedpeace unto you.abound! |
| 4:2 |
It hathhas seemed good untoto me to showdeclare the signs and wonders thatwhich the Most High God hathhas wroughtdone towardfor me. |
| 4:3 |
How great are hisHis signs!, andAnd how mighty are hisHis wonders! hisHis kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, andAnd hisHis dominion is from generation to generation. |
| 4:4 |
I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at restease in my house, and flourishing in my palace. |
| 4:5 |
I saw a dream whichand it made me afraidfearful; and thethese thoughtsfantasies uponas I lay on my bed and the visions ofin my headmind troubledkept alarming me. |
| 4:6 |
ThereforeSo made I agave decreeorders to bring ininto my presence all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known untoto me the interpretation of the dream. |
| 4:7 |
Then came in the magicians, the enchantersconjurers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers;diviners came in, and I toldrelated the dream beforeto them; but they didcould not make its interpretation known untoto me the interpretation thereof. |
| 4:8 |
But atfinally the last Daniel came in before me, whose name wasis Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is thea spirit of the holy gods:; and I toldrelated the dream beforeto him, saying, |
| 4:9 |
O Belteshazzar, masterchief of the magicians, becausesince I know that thea spirit of the holy gods is in thee, you and no secretmystery troublethbaffles theeyou, tell me the visions of my dream thatwhich I have seen, andalong thewith its interpretation thereof. |
| 4:10 |
ThusNow these were the visions ofin my headmind uponas I lay on my bed: I sawwas looking, and, behold, there was a tree in the midst of the earth;, and theits height thereof was great. |
| 4:11 |
The tree grew, large and wasbecame strong, andAnd theits height thereof reached untoto heaventhe sky, andAnd theit sightwas thereofvisible to the end of all the whole earth. |
| 4:12 |
TheIts leavesfoliage thereofwas werebeautiful fair, and theits fruit thereof muchabundant, andAnd in it was food for all:. theThe beasts of the field hadfound shadowshade under it, andAnd the birds of the heavenssky dwelt in theits branches thereof, andAnd all fleshliving wascreatures fed themselves from it. |
| 4:13 |
I sawwas looking in the visions ofin my headmind uponas I lay on my bed, and, behold, aan angelic watcher, and a holy one, camedescended down from heaven. |
| 4:14 |
He criedshouted aloud, out and saidspoke thus,as Hewfollows: Chop down the tree, and cut off its branches, shakeStrip off its leaves, foliage and scatter its fruit:; letLet the beasts getflee away from under it, andAnd the fowlsbirds from its branches. |
| 4:15 |
NeverthelessYet leave the stump ofwith its roots in the earthground, evenBut with a band of iron and brass, bronze inaround it In the tendernew grass of the field; andAnd let ithim be wetdrenched with the dew of heaven:, andAnd let hishim portionshare be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:. |
| 4:16 |
letLet his heartmind be changed from mansthat of a man, andAnd let a beasts heartmind be given untoto him;, andAnd let seven timesperiods of time pass over him. |
| 4:17 |
TheThis sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers, andAnd the demanddecision byis thea wordcommand of the holy ones;, toIn theorder intent that the living may know thatThat the Most High rulethis inruler over the kingdomrealm of menmankind, andAnd givethbestows it toon whomsoeverwhom heHe willwishes, andAnd settethsets up over it the lowestlowliest of men. |
| 4:18 |
This is the dream which I, kingKing Nebuchadnezzar, have seen;. andNow thouyou, O Belteshazzar, declaretell theme its interpretation, forasmuchinasmuch as allnone of the wise men of my kingdom areis not able to make known untoto me the interpretation; but thouyou artare able;, for thea spirit of the holy gods is in theeyou. |
| 4:19 |
Then Daniel, whose name wasis Belteshazzar, was strickenappalled dumb for a while, andas his thoughts troubledalarmed him. The king answeredresponded and said, Belteshazzar, letdo not let the dream, or theits interpretation, troublealarm theeyou. Belteshazzar answered and said, My Lord, if only the dream beapplied to themthose thatwho hate theeyou, and theits interpretation thereof to thineyour adversaries.! |
| 4:20 |
The tree that thouyou sawestsaw, which grew, became large and wasgrew strong, whose height reached untoto heaven, the sky and thewas sightvisible thereof to all the earth;, |
| 4:21 |
and whose leavesfoliage werewas fair, beautiful and theits fruit thereof muchabundant, and in itwhich was food for all;, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and uponin whose branches the birds of the heavenssky had their habitation:lodged |
| 4:22 |
it is thouyou, O king,; thatfor artyou grownhave become great and becomegrown strong;, forand thyyour greatnessmajesty ishas grown, become great and reachethreached untoto heaven, the sky and thyyour dominion to the end of the earth. |
| 4:23 |
And whereasin that the king saw aan angelic watcher, and a holy one, comingdescending down from heaven, and saying, HewChop down the tree, and destroy it; neverthelessyet leave the stump ofwith theits roots thereof in the earthground, evenbut with a band of iron and brass, bronze around it in the tendernew grass of the field, and let ithim be wetdrenched with the dew of heaven:, and let hishim portionshare be with the beasts of the field, tilluntil seven timesperiods of time pass over him; |
| 4:24 |
this is the interpretation, O king, and itthis is the decree of the Most High, which ishas come upon my Lord the king: |
| 4:25 |

| 4:26 |
And whereasin theythat it was commanded to leave the stump ofwith the roots of the tree;, thyyour kingdom shallwill be sureassured untoto thee, you after you recognize that thouit shaltis haveHeaven known that the heavens do rulerules. |
| 4:27 |
WhereforeTherefore, O king, letmay my counseladvice be acceptablepleasing untoto thee, you: and break offaway thynow from your sins by doing righteousness, and thinefrom your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor;, ifin case there may be a lengtheningprolonging of thyyour tranquillityprosperity. |
| 4:28 |
All this camehappened uponto Nebuchadnezzar the king Nebuchadnezzar. |
| 4:29 |
AtTwelve themonths endlater of twelve months he was walking inon the roof of the royal palace of Babylon. |
| 4:30 |
The king spakereflected and said, Is this not thisBabylon the great Babylon, which I myself have built foras thea royal dwellingresidence place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty? |
| 4:31 |
While the word was in the kings mouth, there fell a voice came from heaven, saying, OKing king Nebuchadnezzar, to theeyou it is spokendeclared: Thesovereignty kingdomhas isbeen departedremoved from thee:you, |
| 4:32 |
and thouyou shaltwill be driven away from men;mankind, and thyyour dwelling shallplace will be with the beasts of the field;. thouYou shaltwill be madegiven grass to eat grasslike ascattle, oxen; and seven timesperiods shallof time will pass over thee;you, until thouyou knowrecognize that the Most High rulethis inruler over the kingdomrealm of menmankind, and givethbestows it toon whomsoeverwhomever heHe willwishes. |
| 4:33 |
TheImmediately samethe hourword wasconcerning theNebuchadnezzar thingwas fulfilled; upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven away from men, mankind and didbegan eateating grass aslike oxencattle, and his body was wetdrenched with the dew of heaven, tilluntil his hair washad grown like eagles feathers, and his nails like birds claws. |
| 4:34 |
AndBut at the end of thethat daysperiod I, Nebuchadnezzar, liftedraised upmy mine eyes untotoward heaven, and minemy understandingreason returned untoto me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored himHim thatwho livethlives for everforever; forFor hisHis dominion is an everlasting dominion, andAnd hisHis kingdom endures from generation to generation;. |
| 4:35 |
andAnd all the inhabitants of the earth are reputedaccounted as nothing;, andBut heHe doethdoes according to hisHis will in the armyhost of heaven, andAnd among the inhabitants of the earth; andAnd noneno one can stayward hisoff His hand, orOr say untoto himHim, What doesthast thouThou done? |
| 4:36 |
At thethat same time minemy understandingreason returned untoto me;. And my majesty and splendor were restored to me for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellorscounselors and my Lordsnobles soughtbegan untoseeking me out; andso I was establishedreestablished in my kingdomsovereignty, and excellentsurpassing greatness was added untoto me. |
| 4:37 |
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, andexalt, extol and honor the King of heaven;, for all hisHis works are truth, true and hisHis ways justice;just, and thoseHe thatis walkable into pridehumble hethose iswho ablewalk toin abasepride. |
| 5:1 |
Belshazzar the king madeheld a great feast tofor a thousand of his Lordsnobles, and drankhe was drinking wine beforein the presence of the thousand. |
| 5:2 |
When Belshazzar, while he tasted the wine, commandedhe gave orders to bring the goldengold and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem;, in order that the king and his Lordsnobles, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therefromfrom them. |
| 5:3 |
Then they brought the goldengold vessels that werehad been taken out of the temple, of the house of God which was atin Jerusalem; and the king and his Lordsnobles, his wives, and his concubines, drank from them. |
| 5:4 |
They drank the wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brassbronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone. |
| 5:5 |
InSuddenly the same hour came forth the fingers of a mans hand, emerged and wrotebegan overwriting againstopposite the candlesticklampstand uponon the plaster of the wall of the kings palace:, and the king saw the partback of the hand that wrotedid the writing. |
| 5:6 |
Then the kings countenanceface wasgrew changed in himpale, and his thoughts troubledalarmed him; and thehis hip joints ofwent his loins were loosedslack, and his knees smotebegan oneknocking against anothertogether. |
| 5:7 |
The king criedcalled aloud to bring in the enchantersconjurers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayersdiviners. The king spakespoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, WhosoeverAny shallman who can read this writing, inscription and showexplain meits the interpretation thereof,to shallme will be clothed with purple, and have a chainnecklace of gold aboutaround his neck, and shallhave beauthority theas third ruler in the kingdom. |
| 5:8 |
Then came in all the kings wise men; came in, but they could not read the writing, inscription noror make known its interpretation to the king the interpretation. |
| 5:9 |
Then wasKing king Belshazzar was greatly troubledalarmed, and his countenanceface wasgrew changedeven in himpaler, and his Lordsnobles were perplexed. |
| 5:10 |
NowThe queen entered the queenbanquet byhall reasonbecause of the words of the king and his Lordsnobles; came into the banquet house: the queen spakespoke and said, O king, live forforever! ever;Do not let notyour thy thoughts troublealarm thee, you noror letyour thyface countenance be changedpale. |
| 5:11 |
There is a man in thyyour kingdom, in whom is thea spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thyyour father, lightillumination, andinsight, understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him;. andAnd theKing king Nebuchadnezzar, thyyour father, your father the king, Iappointed say, thy father, made him masterchief of the magicians, enchantersconjurers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;diviners. |
| 5:12 |
forasmuchThis aswas because an excellentextraordinary spirit, and knowledge, and understandinginsight, interpretinginterpretation of dreams, andexplanation showing of dark sentencesenigmas, and dissolvingsolving of doubts, difficult problems were found in thethis same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. NowLet let Daniel now be calledsummoned, and he will showdeclare the interpretation. |
| 5:13 |
Then Daniel was Daniel brought in before the king. The king spakespoke and said untoto Daniel, ArtAre thouyou that Daniel, who artis ofone the children of the captivityexiles offrom Judah, whom my father the king my father brought outfrom of Judah? |
| 5:14 |
Now I have heard ofabout thee, you that thea spirit of the gods is in theeyou, and that lightillumination, andinsight, understanding and excellentextraordinary wisdom arehave been found in theeyou. |
| 5:15 |
AndJust now the wise men, and the enchanters, conjurers havewere been brought in before me, that they shouldmight read this writing, inscription and make its interpretation known untoto me, the interpretation thereof; but they could not showdeclare the interpretation of the thingmessage. |
| 5:16 |
But I personally have heard ofabout theeyou, that thouyou canstare able to give interpretations, and dissolvesolve doubts:difficult nowproblems. Now if thouyou canstare able to read the writing, inscription and make its interpretation known to me the interpretation thereof, thouyou shaltwill be clothed with purple, and havewear a chainnecklace of gold aboutaround thyyour neck, and shaltyou bewill have authority as the third ruler in the kingdom. |
| 5:17 |
Then Daniel answered and said before the king, LetKeep thyyour gifts befor to thyselfyourself, andor give thyyour rewards to anothersomeone else; neverthelesshowever, I will read the writinginscription untoto the king, and make the interpretation known to him the interpretation. |
| 5:18 |
O thou king, the Most High God gavegranted Nebuchadnezzarsovereignty, thygrandeur, father the kingdomglory, and greatness, majesty andto glory,Nebuchadnezzar andyour majesty:father. |
| 5:19 |
andAnd because of the greatnessgrandeur thatwhich heHe gavebestowed on him, all the peoples, nations, and languagesmen trembledof andevery language feared and trembled before him:; whomwhomever he wouldwished he slewkilled, and whomwhomever he wouldwished he keptspared alive; and whomwhomever he wouldwished he raised upelevated, and whomwhomever he wouldwished he put downhumbled. |
| 5:20 |
But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit wasbecame hardened so proud that he dealtbehaved proudlyarrogantly, he was deposed from his kinglyroyal throne, and they took his glory was taken away from him:. |
| 5:21 |
andHe he was also driven away from the sons of menmankind, and his heart was made like thethat of beasts, and his dwelling place was with the wild asses;donkeys. heHe was fedgiven with grass to eat like oxencattle, and his body was wetdrenched with the dew of heaven;, until he knewrecognized that the Most High God rulethis inruler over the kingdomrealm of menmankind, and that heHe settethsets up over it whomsoeverwhomever heHe willwishes. |
| 5:22 |
AndYet thouyou, his son, O Belshazzar, hasthave not humbled thyyour heart, even though thouyou knewestknew all this, |
| 5:23 |
but hastyou liftedhave upexalted thyselfyourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of hisHis house before theeyou, and thouyou and thyyour Lordsnobles, thyyour wives and thyyour concubines, have drunkbeen drinking wine from them; and thouyou hasthave praised the gods of silver and gold, of brassbronze, iron, wood, and stone, which seedo not see, nor hear, noror know;understand. andBut the God in whose hand thyare your life breath is, and whoseyour are all thy ways, hastyou thouhave not glorified. |
| 5:24 |
Then was the parthand ofwas the hand sent from before himHim, and this writinginscription was inscribedwritten out. |
| 5:25 |
AndNow this is the writinginscription that was inscribedwritten out: meneMENE, meneMENE, tekelTEKEL, upharsinUPHARSIN. |
| 5:26 |
This is the interpretation of the thingmessage: mene;MENE God hathhas numbered thyyour kingdom, and broughtput itan end to an endit. |
| 5:27 |
tekel;TEKEL thouyou arthave been weighed inon the balances, scales and art found wantingdeficient. |
| 5:28 |
peres;PERES thyyour kingdom ishas been divided, and given over to the Medes and Persians. |
| 5:29 |
Then commandedBelshazzar Belshazzargave orders, and they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chainnecklace of gold aboutaround his neck, and madeissued a proclamation concerning him, that he shouldnow behad authority as the third ruler in the kingdom. |
| 5:30 |
InThat thatsame night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was slain. |
| 5:31 |
AndSo Darius the Mede received the kingdom, beingat about threescorethe andage twoof yearssixty oldtwo. |
| 6:1 |
It pleasedseemed good to Darius to setappoint 120 satraps over the kingdom, athat hundredthey andshould twentybe satraps,in whocharge shouldof be throughout the whole kingdom;, |
| 6:2 |
and over them three presidents, commissioners of whom Daniel was one;, that these satraps might givebe accountaccountable untoto them, and that the king shouldmight havenot nosuffer damageloss. |
| 6:3 |
Then this Daniel wasbegan distinguisheddistinguishing abovehimself among the presidentscommissioners and the satraps, because he possessed an excellentextraordinary spirit, was in him; and the king thoughtplanned to setappoint him over the wholeentire realmkingdom. |
| 6:4 |
Then the presidentscommissioners and the satraps soughtbegan trying to find occasiona ground of accusation against Daniel asin touchingregard theto kingdomgovernment affairs; but they could find no occasionground norof faultaccusation or evidence of corruption, forasmuchinasmuch as he was faithful, neitherand wasno therenegligence anyor errorcorruption orwas faultto be found in him. |
| 6:5 |
Then said these men said, We shall not find any occasionground of accusation against this Daniel, exceptunless we find it against him concerningwith regard to the law of his God. |
| 6:6 |
Then these presidentscommissioners and satraps assembledcame togetherby agreement to the king, and saidspoke thusto unto him, as follows: King Darius, live for ever.forever! |
| 6:7 |
All the presidentscommissioners of the kingdom, the deputiesprefects and the satraps, the counsellorshigh officials and the governors, have consulted together tothat the king should establish a royal statute, and toenforce makean ainjunction strong interdict, that whosoeveranyone shallwho askmakes a petition ofto any god or man forbesides thirty daysyou, saveO of theeking, Ofor kingthirty days, he shall be cast into the lions den of lions. |
| 6:8 |
Now, O king, establish the interdict, injunction and sign the writing, document so that it bemay not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which alterethmay not be revoked. |
| 6:9 |
WhereforeTherefore kingKing Darius signed the writingdocument, andthat is, the interdictinjunction. |
| 6:10 |
AndNow when Daniel knew that the writingdocument was signed, he wententered into his house now in his windowsroof werechamber openhe inhad hiswindows chamberopen toward Jerusalem; and he kneeledcontinued uponkneeling on his knees three times a day, andpraying prayed, and gavegiving thanks before his God, as he didhad aforetimebeen doing previously. |
| 6:11 |
Then these men assembledcame together,by agreement and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God. |
| 6:12 |
Then they cameapproached near, and spakespoke before the king concerningabout the kings interdict:injunction, HastDid thouyou not signedsign an interdict, injunction that everyany man thatwho shallmakes makea petition untoto any god or man withinbesides thirtyyou, daysO king, savefor untothirty theedays, Ois king,to shall be cast into the lions den of lions? The king answered and said, The thingstatement is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which alterethmay not be revoked. |
| 6:13 |
Then they answered they and saidspoke before the king, That Daniel, who is ofone the children of the captivityexiles offrom Judah, regardethpays notno theeattention to you, O king, noror to the interdictinjunction thatwhich thouyou hast signed, but makethkeeps making his petition three times a day. |
| 6:14 |
Then, as soon as the king, when he heard thesethis wordsstatement, he was soredeeply displeased, distressed and set his heartmind on delivering Daniel to deliver him; and heeven laboreduntil tillsunset thehe goingkept downexerting ofhimself the sun to rescue him. |
| 6:15 |
Then these men assembledcame togetherby untoagreement to the king, and said untoto the king, KnowRecognize, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no interdictinjunction noror statute which the king establishethestablishes may be changed. |
| 6:16 |
Then the king commandedgave orders, and theyDaniel was brought Daniel,in and cast him into the lions den of lions. NowThe the king spakespoke and said untoto Daniel, ThyYour God whom thouyou servestconstantly continually, serve he will Himself deliver theeyou. |
| 6:17 |
And a stone was brought, and laid uponover the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, ring and with the signet rings of his Lords;nobles, so that nothing might be changed concerningin regard to Daniel. |
| 6:18 |
Then the king went off to his palace, and passedspent the night fasting;, neitherand wereno instrumentsentertainment ofwas music brought before him:; and his sleep fled from him. |
| 6:19 |
Then the king arose verywith earlythe indawn, at the morningbreak of day, and went in haste untoto the lions den of lions. |
| 6:20 |
And when he camehad come near unto the den to Daniel, he cried out with a lamentabletroubled voice;. theThe king spakespoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, ishas thyyour God, whom thouyou servestconstantly continuallyserve, been able to deliver theeyou from the lions? |
| 6:21 |
Then said Daniel untospoke to the king, O king, live for ever.forever! |
| 6:22 |
My God hath sent hisHis angel, and hath shut the lions mouths, and they have not hurtharmed me;, forasmuchinasmuch as beforeI him innocency was found ininnocent mebefore Him; and also beforetoward theeyou, O king, I have Icommitted done no hurtcrime. |
| 6:23 |
Then was the king exceedingwas glad, very pleased and commandedgave thatorders theyfor shouldDaniel taketo Danielbe taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no mannerinjury ofwhatever hurt was found uponon him, because he had trusted in his God. |
| 6:24 |
AndThe the king commandedthen gave orders, and they brought those men thatwho had maliciously accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; andinto the lions hadden; theand masterythey ofhad them, not andreached brakethe allbottom theirof bonesthe inden pieces, before theythe camelions tooverpowered thethem bottomand ofcrushed theall dentheir bones. |
| 6:25 |
Then Darius the king Darius wrote untoto all the peoples, nations, and languages, men thatof dwellevery language who were living in all the earthland: PeaceMay beyour multipliedpeace unto you.abound! |
| 6:26 |
I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men trembleare andto fear and tremble before the God of Daniel; forFor heHe is the living God, and stedfastenduring for everforever, And hisHis kingdom thatis one which shallwill not be destroyed;, andAnd hisHis dominion shallwill be even unto the endforever. |
| 6:27 |
He deliverethdelivers and rescueth, rescues and heperforms worketh signs and wonders inIn heaven and inon earth, whoWho hathhas also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. |
| 6:28 |
So this Daniel prosperedenjoyed success in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian. |
| 7:1 |
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel hadsaw a dream and visions ofin his headmind uponas he lay on his bed:; then he wrote the dream down and toldrelated the sumfollowing summary of the mattersit. |
| 7:2 |
Daniel spake and said, I sawwas looking in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of heaven brakewere forthstirring uponup the great sea. |
| 7:3 |
And four great beasts camewere coming up from the sea, diversedifferent from one from another. |
| 7:4 |
The first was like a lion, and had eaglesthe wings: of an eagle. I beheldkept tilllooking theuntil its wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, ground and made to stand uponon two feet aslike a man; and a manshuman heartmind also was given to it. |
| 7:5 |
And, behold, another beast, a second one, likeresembling to a bear;. andAnd it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth:; and thus they said thusto unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.meat! |
| 7:6 |
After this I beheldkept looking, and, lobehold, another one, like a leopard, which had uponon its back four wings of a bird; the beast also had also four heads;, and dominion was given to it. |
| 7:7 |
After this I sawkept looking in the night visions, and, behold, a fourth beast, terribledreadful and powerful, terrifying and extremely strong exceedingly; and it had greatlarge iron teeth;. itIt devoured and brake in piecescrushed, and stampedtrampled down the residueremainder with its feet:; and it was diversedifferent from all the beasts that were before it;, and it had ten horns. |
| 7:8 |
While I consideredwas contemplating the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, beforecame whichup among them, and three of the first horns were pluckedpulled upout by the roots: before it; and, behold, in this horn werepossessed eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speakinguttering great thingsboasts. |
| 7:9 |
I beheldkept tilllooking Until thrones were placedset up, andAnd onethe thatAncient wasof ancientDays oftook daysHis didseat; sit:His hisvesture raiment was like white as snow, andAnd the hair of hisHis head like pure wool;. hisHis throne was fieryablaze with flames, andIts the wheels thereofwere a burning fire. |
| 7:10 |
A fieryriver streamof issuedfire andwas cameflowing forthAnd coming out from before him:Him; thousandsThousands ofupon thousands ministeredwere untoattending himHim, andAnd tenmyriads thousandupon timesmyriads tenwere thousandstanding stood before him:Him; theThe judgmentcourt was setsat, andAnd the books were opened. |
| 7:11 |
Then I beheldkept atlooking that time because of the voicesound of the greatboastful words which the horn spakewas speaking; I beheldkept evenlooking tilluntil the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed, and it was given to bethe burnedburning with fire. |
| 7:12 |
AndAs as for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away:, yetbut theiran livesextension wereof prolongedlife was granted to them for aan seasonappointed andperiod aof time. |
| 7:13 |
I sawkept looking in the night visions, and,And behold, there came with the clouds of heaven oneOne like unto a sonSon of manMan was coming, andAnd heHe came evenup to the ancientAncient of days,Days andAnd theywas broughtpresented him near before himHim. |
| 7:14 |
And thereto Him was given him dominion, andGlory glory, and a kingdom, thatThat all the peoples, nations, and languagesmen shouldof every language Might serve him:Him. hisHis dominion is an everlasting dominion, whichWhich shallwill not pass away,; andAnd hisHis kingdom thatis whichone shallWhich will not be destroyed. |
| 7:15 |
As for me, Daniel, my spirit was grieveddistressed inwithin the midst of my bodyme, and the visions ofin my headmind troubledkept alarming me. |
| 7:16 |
I cameapproached near unto one of themthose thatwho stoodwere standing by, and askedbegan asking him the truthexact concerningmeaning of all this. So he told me, and made known to me know the interpretation of thethese things.: |
| 7:17 |
These great beasts, which are four in number, are four kings, thatwho shallwill arise outfrom of the earth. |
| 7:18 |
But the saints of the MostHighest HighOne shallwill receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for everforever, even for everall andages everto come. |
| 7:19 |
Then I desired to know the truthexact concerningmeaning of the fourth beast, which was diversedifferent from all ofthe themothers, exceedingexceedingly terribledreadful, whosewith its teeth were of iron, and its nailsclaws of brass;bronze, and which devoured, brake in piecescrushed, and stampedtrampled down the residueremainder with its feet;, |
| 7:20 |
and concerningthe meaning of the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, and before which three of them fell, evennamely, that horn thatwhich had eyes, and a mouth thatuttering spake great thingsboasts, whoseand lookwhich was morelarger stoutin appearance than its fellowsassociates. |
| 7:21 |
I beheldkept looking, and thethat same horn madewas waging war with the saints, and prevailedoverpowering against them; |
| 7:22 |
until the ancientAncient of daysDays came, and judgment was givenpassed toin favor of the saints of the MostHighest HighOne, and the time camearrived thatwhen the saints possessedtook possession of the kingdom. |
| 7:23 |
Thus he said,: The fourth beast shallwill be a fourth kingdom uponon the earth, which shallwill be diversedifferent from all the other kingdoms, and shallit will devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and breakcrush it in pieces. |
| 7:24 |
AndAs as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom shall ten kings will arise:; and another shallwill arise after them;, and he shallwill be diversedifferent from the former, previous ones and hewill shallsubdue put down three kings. |
| 7:25 |
And he shallwill speak wordsout against the Most High, and shall wear outdown the saints of the MostHighest High; One, and he shallwill thinkintend to changemake thealterations in times and thein law; and they shallwill be given into his hand untilfor a time, and times, and half a time. |
| 7:26 |
But the judgmentcourt shallwill besit setfor judgment, and theyhis shalldominion takewill awaybe histaken dominionaway, toannihilated consume and todestroyed destroy it unto the endforever. |
| 7:27 |
AndThen the kingdomsovereignty, and the dominion, and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shallwill be given to the people of the saints of the MostHighest High:One; hisHis kingdom iswill be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions shallwill serve and obey himHim. |
| 7:28 |
HereAt isthis point the endrevelation of the matterended. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts muchwere troubledgreatly alarming me, and my countenanceface wasgrew changedpale, in me: but I kept the matter into my heartmyself. |
| 8:1 |
In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king Belshazzar a vision appeared untoto me, evenDaniel, untosubsequent me,to Daniel, the afterone that which appeared untoto me at the firstpreviously. |
| 8:2 |
And I sawlooked in the vision;, nowand it wascame so,about thatwhile when I sawwas looking, that I was in Shushan the palacecitadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam; and I sawlooked in the vision, and I myself was bybeside the riverUlai UlaiCanal. |
| 8:3 |
Then I lifted upmy minegaze eyes, and sawlooked, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: andwas standing in front of the canal. Now the two horns were high;long, but one was higherlonger than the other, andwith the higherlonger cameone coming up last. |
| 8:4 |
I saw the ram pushingbutting westward, and northward, and southward;, and no other beasts could stand before him, neithernor was there anyanyone thatto couldrescue deliverfrom out of his handpower; but he did accordingas tohe hispleased will, and magnified himself. |
| 8:5 |
AndWhile as I was consideringobserving, behold, a hemale goat camewas coming from the west over the facesurface of the whole earth, andwithout touchedtouching not the ground:; and the goat had a notableconspicuous horn between his eyes. |
| 8:6 |
And he came up to the ram that had the two horns, which I sawhad seen standing beforein front of the rivercanal, and ranrushed uponat him in thehis furymighty of his powerwrath. |
| 8:7 |
And I saw him come closebeside unto the ram, and he was movedenraged withat anger against him,; and smotehe struck the ram, and brakeshattered his two horns;, and therethe wasram had no powerstrength in the ram to standwithstand before him;. butSo he casthurled him down to the ground, and trampled uponon him;, and there was none thatto couldrescue deliver the ram outfrom of his handpower. |
| 8:8 |
AndThen the hemale goat magnified himself exceedingly:. andBut whenas soon as he was strongmighty, the greatlarge horn was broken; and insteadin ofits itplace there came up four notableconspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven. |
| 8:9 |
And out of one of them came forth a littlerather small horn, which waxedgrew exceedingexceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the gloriousBeautiful landLand. |
| 8:10 |
And it waxedgrew great,up even to the host of heaven; and caused some of the host and some of the stars itto castfall down to the groundearth, and it trampled uponthem themdown. |
| 8:11 |
Yea,It iteven magnified itself, even to be equal with the princeCommander of the host; and it tookremoved awaythe fromregular himsacrifice thefrom continual burnt offeringHim, and the place of hisHis sanctuary was castthrown down. |
| 8:12 |
And on account of transgression the host waswill be given over to itthe togetherhorn along with the continualregular burnt offering through transgressionsacrifice; and it castwill downfling truth to the ground, and itperform did its pleasurewill and prosperedprosper. |
| 8:13 |
Then I heard a holy one speaking;, and another holy one said untoto that certainparticular one who spakewas speaking, How long shallwill be the vision concerningabout the continualregular burntsacrifice offeringapply, andwhile the transgression thatcauses maketh desolatehorror, so as to giveallow both the sanctuaryholy place and the host to be trodden under foottrampled? |
| 8:14 |
And he said untoto me, UntoFor two2,300 thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings; then shall the sanctuaryholy place will be cleansedproperly restored. |
| 8:15 |
And it came toabout pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and, behold, therestanding stood before me aswas theone appearancewho oflooked like a man. |
| 8:16 |
And I heard the voice of a mansman voice between the banks of the Ulai, whichand he called, out and said, Gabriel, makegive this man toan understandunderstanding of the vision. |
| 8:17 |
So he came near to where I stood;was standing, and when he came, I was affrighted, frightened and fell uponon my face:; but he said untoto me, Understand,Son O son of man;, forunderstand that the vision belongethpertains to the time of the end. |
| 8:18 |
Now aswhile he was speakingtalking with me, I fellsank into a deep sleep with my face towardto the ground; but he touched me, and setmade me stand upright. |
| 8:19 |
And he said, Behold, I willam makegoing theeto let you know what shallwill beoccur inat the latterfinal timeperiod of the indignation;, for it belongethpertains to the appointed time of the end. |
| 8:20 |
The ram which thouyou sawest, saw thatwith had the two horns, theyrepresents are the kings of Media and Persia. |
| 8:21 |
And the roughshaggy he goat isrepresents the kingkingdom of Greece:, and the greatlarge horn that is between his eyes is the first king. |
| 8:22 |

And the vision of the evenings and mornings whichWhich hathhas been told is true:; butBut shutkeep thou up the vision; forsecret, For it belongethpertains to many days toin comethe future. |
| 8:27 |
AndThen I, Daniel, fainted, was exhausted and was sick certainfor days;. thenThen I rosegot up, again and didcarried on the kings business:; andbut I wonderedwas astounded at the vision, butand there was none understoodto explain it. |
| 9:1 |
In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of theMedian seed of the Medesdescent, who was made king over the realmkingdom of the Chaldeans, |
| 9:2 |
in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understoodobserved byin the books the number of the years whereofwhich was revealed as the word of Jehovahthe cameLord to Jeremiah the prophet, for the accomplishingcompletion of the desolations of Jerusalem, evennamely, seventy years. |
| 9:3 |
AndSo I setgave my faceattention untoto the Lord God, to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes. |
| 9:4 |
And I prayed untoto Jehovahthe Lord my God, and madeconfessed confession, and said, OhAlas, O Lord, the great and dreadfulawesome God, who keepethkeeps His covenant and lovingkindness withfor themthose thatwho love himHim and keep hisHis commandments, |
| 9:5 |
we have sinned, andcommitted have dealt perverselyiniquity, andacted have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from thyThy preceptscommandments and from thine ordinances;. |
| 9:6 |
neitherMoreover, we have wenot hearkenedlistened untoto thyThy servants the prophets, thatwho spakespoke in thyThy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. |
| 9:7 |
ORighteousness Lord, belongs righteousnessto belongethThee, untoO theeLord, but untoto us confusionopen of faceshame, as atit is this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, thatthose who are near, nearby and thatthose who are far off, away throughin all the countries whitherto thouwhich Thou hast driven them, because of their trespassunfaithful thatdeeds which they have trespassedcommitted against theeThee. |
| 9:8 |
OOpen Lord, shame belongs to us, belongethO confusion of faceLord, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against theeThee. |
| 9:9 |
To the Lord our God belong merciescompassion and forgiveness;, for we have rebelled against himHim; |
| 9:10 |
neithernor have we obeyed the voice of Jehovahthe Lord our God, to walk in hisHis laws, teachings which heHe set before us bythrough hisHis servants the prophets. |
| 9:11 |
Yea,Indeed all Israel havehas transgressed thyThy law, evenand turningturned aside, that they should not obeyobeying thyThy voice:; thereforeso hath the curse has been poured out uponon us, andalong with the oath thatwhich is written in the law of Moses the servant of God;, for we have sinned against himHim. |
| 9:12 |
AndThus heHe hathhas confirmed hisHis words, which heHe spakehad spoken against us, and against our judgesrulers thatwho judgedruled us, byto bringingbring uponon us a great evilcalamity; for under the whole heaven haththere has not been done asanything hathlike beenwhat was done uponto Jerusalem. |
| 9:13 |
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evilcalamity ishas come uponon us:; yet we have we not entreatedsought the favor of Jehovahthe Lord our God, thatby weturning should turn from our iniquities, iniquity and havegiving discernmentattention into thyThy truth. |
| 9:14 |
Therefore, haththe JehovahLord watchedhas overkept the evil, calamity in store and brought it uponon us; for Jehovahthe Lord our God is righteous inwith respect to all hisHis worksdeeds which heHe doethhas done, andbut we have not obeyed hisHis voice. |
| 9:15 |
And now, O Lord our God, thatwho hast brought thyThy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gottenmade theea renownname for Thyself, as atit is this day; we have sinned, we have donebeen wickedlywicked. |
| 9:16 |
O Lord, accordingin toaccordance with all thyThy righteousnessrighteous acts, let thinenow Thine anger and thyThy wrath, Iturn pray thee, be turned away from thyThy city Jerusalem, thyThy holy mountain; for because forof our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thyThy people arehave become a reproach to all thatthose arearound round about us. |
| 9:17 |
NowSo thereforenow, O our God, hearkenlisten untoto the prayer of thyThy servant, and to his supplications, and causefor thyThy facesake, toO shineLord, uponlet thyThy sanctuaryface thatshine ison Thy desolate, for the Lords sakesanctuary. |
| 9:18 |
O my God, incline thineThine ear, and hear;! openOpen thineThine eyes, and beholdsee our desolations, and the city which is called by thyThy name:; for we doare not presentpresenting our supplications before theeThee foron account of any merits of our righteousnessesown, but foron thyaccount of Thy great mercies sakecompassion. |
| 9:19 |
O Lord, hear;! O Lord, forgive;! O Lord, hearkenlisten and do;take deferaction! not,For forThine thine own sake, O my God, do not delay, because thyThy city and thyThy people are called by thyThy name. |
| 9:20 |
AndNow while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before Jehovahthe Lord my God forin behalf of the holy mountain of my God;, |
| 9:21 |
yea, while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginningpreviously, beingcame caused to flyme swiftly,in touchedmy meextreme weariness about the time of the evening oblationoffering. |
| 9:22 |
And he instructedgave me, instruction and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I amhave now come forth to give theeyou wisdominsight andwith understanding. |
| 9:23 |
At the beginning of thyyour supplications the commandmentcommand wentwas forthissued, and I amhave come to tell thee;you, for thouyou artare greatlyhighly beloved:esteemed; thereforeso considergive heed to the matter, message and understandgain understanding of the vision. |
| 9:24 |
Seventy weeks arehave been decreed uponfor thyyour people and uponyour thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sinssin, and to make reconciliationatonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place. |
| 9:25 |

| 9:27 |
And he shallwill make a firm covenant with the many for one week:, andbut in the midstmiddle of the week he shallwill causeput thea stop to sacrifice and thegrain oblation to ceaseoffering; and uponon the wing of abominations shallwill come one thatwho makethmakes desolate;, and even untountil thea fullcomplete enddestruction, andone that determinedis decreed, shallis wrath be poured out uponon the one who makes desolate. |
| 10:1 |
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thingmessage was revealed untoto Daniel, whosewho name was callednamed Belteshazzar; and the thingmessage was true, evenand aone of great warfare:conflict, andbut he understood the thing, message and had an understanding of the vision. |
| 10:2 |
In those days I, Daniel, washad been mourning for three wholeentire weeks. |
| 10:3 |
I atedid nonot pleasanteat breadany tasty food, neithernor camedid fleshmeat noror wine intoenter my mouth, neithernor did I anointuse myselfany ointment at all, tilluntil the entire three whole weeks were fulfilledcompleted. |
| 10:4 |
And inon the fourtwenty andfourth twentieth day of the first month, aswhile I was by the sidebank of the great river, whichthat is, Hiddekelthe Tigris, |
| 10:5 |
I lifted upmy mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there was a certain man clotheddressed in linen, whose loinswaist werewas girded with a belt of pure gold of Uphaz:. |
| 10:6 |
hisHis body also was like the beryl, and his face ashad the appearance of lightning, and his eyes aswere like flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like untothe burnishedgleam brassof polished bronze, and the voicesound of his words like the voicesound of a multitudetumult. |
| 10:7 |
AndNow I, Daniel, alone saw the vision;, forwhile the men thatwho were with me sawdid not see the vision; butnevertheless, a great quakingdread fell uponon them, and they fledran away to hide themselves. |
| 10:8 |
So I was left alone, and saw this great vision,; andyet there remained no strength was left in me;, for my comelinessnatural wascolor turned into mea intodeathly corruptionpallor, and I retained no strength. |
| 10:9 |
YetBut I heard I the voicesound of his words; and whenas soon as I heard the voicesound of his words, then was I fallenfell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face towardto the ground. |
| 10:10 |
And,Then behold, a hand touched me, whichand set me upontrembling on my kneeshands and upon the palms of my handsknees. |
| 10:11 |
And he said untoto me, O Daniel, thou man greatlyof belovedhigh esteem, understand the words that I speakam untoabout thee,to tell you and stand upright;, for untoI theehave amnow Ibeen nowsent sentto you. And when he had spoken this word untoto me, I stood up trembling. |
| 10:12 |
Then he said heto unto me, FearDo not be afraid, Daniel;, for from the first day that thouyou didst set thyyour heart toon understand, understanding this and toon humblehumbling thyselfyourself before thyyour God, thyyour words were heard:, and I amhave come forin thyresponse to your words sake. |
| 10:13 |
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstoodwas withstanding me onefor and twenty one days; but, then lobehold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me:, andfor I remainedhad been left there with the kings of Persia. |
| 10:14 |
Now I amhave come to makegive theeyou understandan understanding of what shallwill befallhappen thyto your people in the latter days;, for the vision ispertains yetto forthe manydays daysyet future. |
| 10:15 |
And when he had spoken untoto me according to these words, I setturned my face toward the ground, and wasbecame dumbspeechless. |
| 10:16 |
And, behold, one inwho theresembled likenessa ofhuman thebeing sonswas oftouching men touched my lips:; then I opened my mouth, and spakespoke, and said untoto him thatwho stoodwas standing before me, O my Lord, byas reasona result of the vision myanguish sorrowshas arecome turned upon me, and I retainhave retained no strength. |
| 10:17 |
For how can thesuch a servant of this my Lord talk with thissuch as my Lord? forAs as for me, straightway there remainedremains just now no strength in me, neithernor washas thereany breath been left in me. |
| 10:18 |
Then therethis touched me again one likewith thehuman appearance oftouched ame man, again and he strengthened me. |
| 10:19 |
And he said, O man greatlyof belovedhigh esteem, feardo not: peace be untoafraid. thee,Peace be strong, with yea, you; take courage and be strong.courageous! AndNow whenas soon as he spakespoke untoto me, I wasreceived strengthened, strength and said, LetMay my Lord speak;, for thouyou hasthave strengthened me. |
| 10:20 |
Then he said he, KnowestDo thouyou whereforeunderstand why I amcame cometo unto theeyou? andBut nowI willshall Inow return to fight withagainst the prince of Persia:; andso when I goam going forth, loand behold, the prince of Greece shallis about to come. |
| 10:21 |
ButHowever, I will tell theeyou thatwhat which is inscribed in the writing of truth:. andYet there is noneno thatone holdethwho stands firmly with me against these, butforces except Michael your prince. |
| 11:1 |

| 12:6 |
And one said to the man clotheddressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shallwill it be tountil the end of these wonders? |
| 12:7 |
And I heard the man clotheddressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, whenas he heldraised up his right hand and his left handtoward unto heaven, and swareswore by himHim thatwho livethlives forforever ever that it shallwould be for a time, times, and half a halftime; and whenas theysoon haveas madethey anfinish endshattering of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these thingsevents shallwill be finishedcompleted. |

And he said, Go thyyour way, Daniel;, for thethese words are shutconcealed up and sealed tillup theuntil time of the end time. |
| 12:10 |
Many shallwill purifybe themselvespurged, andpurified make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shallwill doact wickedly;, and none of the wicked shallwill understand;, but theythose thatwho arehave wiseinsight shallwill understand. |
| 12:11 |
And from the time that the continualregular burntsacrifice offeringis shall be taken awayabolished, and the abomination thatof makethdesolation desolateis set up, there shallwill be a1,290 thousand two hundred and ninety days. |
