untoto Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. |
| 1:3 |
As I exhortedurged theeyou toupon tarrymy atdeparture Ephesusfor Macedonia, whenremain Ion wasat goingEphesus, intoin Macedonia, order that thouyou mightestmay chargeinstruct certain men not to teach astrange different doctrinedoctrines, |
| 1:4 |
neithernor to givepay heedattention to fablesmyths and endless genealogies, which ministergive questionings, rise to mere speculation rather than afurthering dispensationthe administration of God which is inby faith; so do I now. |
| 1:5 |
But the endgoal of theour chargeinstruction is love outfrom of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith unfeigned:. |
| 1:6 |
fromFor whichsome thingsmen, somestraying havingfrom swervedthese things, have turned aside untoto vainfruitless talking;discussion, |

| 1:8 |
But we know that the lawLaw is good, if aone manuses use it lawfully, |
| 1:9 |
asrealizing knowingthe this, fact that law is not made for a righteous man, but for thethose who are lawless and unrulyrebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderersthose ofwho fatherskill andtheir murderersfathers ofor mothers, for manslayers, murderers |

| 1:11 |
according to the glorious gospel of the glory of the blessed God, with which wasI committedhave tobeen my trustentrusted. |
| 1:12 |
I thank himChrist thatJesus enabledour meLord, evenwho Christhas Jesusstrengthened our Lordme, forbecause thatHe heconsidered counted me faithful, appointingputting me tointo his service; |
| 1:13 |
even though I was beforeformerly a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious:a howbeitviolent aggressor. And yet I obtainedwas shown mercy, because I didacted it ignorantly in unbelief; |
| 1:14 |
and the grace of our Lord aboundedwas exceedinglymore than abundant, with the faith and love which isare found in Christ Jesus. |
| 1:15 |
FaithfulIt is thea sayingtrustworthy statement, anddeserving worthyfull of all acceptationacceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;, ofamong whom I am chief:foremost of all. |
| 1:16 |
howbeitAnd yet for this causereason I obtainedfound mercy, in order that in me as chiefthe mightforemost, Jesus Christ showmight forthdemonstrate allHis hisperfect longsufferingpatience, foras an ensampleexample offor themthose thatwho shouldwould thereafter believe onin himHim untofor eternal life. |
| 1:17 |
Now untoto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forforever ever and ever. Amen. |
| 1:18 |
This chargecommand I commitentrust untoto theeyou, Timothy, my child Timothyson, accordingin toaccordance with the prophecies whichpreviously ledmade theconcerning way to theeyou, that by them thouyou mayestmay warfight the good warfare;fight, |
| 1:19 |
holdingkeeping faith and a good conscience;, which some havinghave thrustrejected fromand themsuffered made shipwreck concerningin theregard to their faith:. |
| 1:20 |
ofAmong whomthese isare Hymenaeus and Alexander;, whom I have delivered untoover to Satan, so that they mightmay be taught not to blaspheme. |
| 2:1 |
IFirst exhortof thereforeall, firstthen, ofI all, urge that supplications, entreaties and prayers, intercessions, petitions and thanksgivings, be made foron behalf of all men;, |
| 2:2 |
for kings and all thatwho are in highauthority, place;in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravitydignity. |
| 2:3 |
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;Savior, |
| 2:4 |
who woulddesires have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. |
| 2:5 |
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, himselfthe man, Christ Jesus, |
| 2:6 |
who gave himselfHimself as a ransom for all;, the testimony to be borne inat itsthe ownproper times;time. |
| 2:7 |
whereuntoAnd for this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle I speakam telling the truth, I lieam not, lying as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. |
| 2:8 |
Therefore I desirewant therefore that the men pray in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputingdissension. |
| 2:9 |
InLikewise, likeI manner, want that women to adorn themselves inwith modestproper apparelclothing, withmodestly shamefastness and sobriety;discreetly, not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raimentgarments; |
| 2:10 |
but whichrather becomethby means of good works, as befits women professingmaking godlinessa throughclaim goodto worksgodliness. |
| 2:11 |
Let a woman learnquietly inreceive quietnessinstruction with allentire subjectionsubmissiveness. |
| 2:12 |
But I permitdo not allow a woman to teach, noror toexercise haveauthority dominion over a man, but to beremain in quietnessquiet. |
| 2:13 |
For it was Adam who was first formedcreated, and then Eve;. |
| 2:14 |
andAnd Adamit was not beguiledAdam who was deceived, but the woman being beguiledquite hathdeceived, fallenfell into transgression:. |
| 2:15 |
butBut shewomen shall be savedpreserved through herthe child bearing, of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctificationsanctity with sobrietyself restraint. |
| 3:1 |
FaithfulIt is thea saying, trustworthy Ifstatement: aif any man seekethaspires to the office of a bishopoverseer, heit desirethis a goodfine work he desires to do. |
| 3:2 |
TheAn bishopoverseer, thereforethen, must be withoutabove reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober mindedprudent, orderlyrespectable, given to hospitalityhospitable, aptable to teach;, |
| 3:3 |
nonot brawler, addicted noto striker;wine or pugnacious, but gentle, not contentiousuncontentious, nofree loverfrom the love of money;. |
| 3:4 |
He must be one thatwho rulethmanages well his own househousehold well, havingkeeping his children inunder subjectioncontrol with all gravity;dignity |
| 3:5 |
but if a man knowethdoes not know how to rulemanage his own househousehold, how shallwill he take care of the church of God??; |
| 3:6 |
and not a novicenew convert, lest beinghe puffedbecome upconceited heand fall into the condemnation ofincurred by the devil. |
| 3:7 |
MoreoverAnd he must have a good testimonyreputation fromwith themthose thatoutside arethe without;church, lestso that he may not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. |
| 3:8 |
Deacons inlikewise like manner must be gravemen of dignity, not double tongued, notor givenaddicted to much wine, notor greedyfond of filthysordid lucre;gain, |
| 3:9 |
but holding to the mystery of the faith inwith a pureclear conscience. |
| 3:10 |
And let these also first be provedtested; then let them serve as deacons, if they beare blamelessbeyond reproach. |
| 3:11 |
Women inmust likelikewise manner must be gravedignified, not slanderersmalicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things. |
| 3:12 |
Let deacons be husbands of only one wife, rulingand good managers of their children and their own houses wellhouseholds. |
| 3:13 |
For theythose thatwho have served well as deacons gainobtain tofor themselves a goodhigh standing, and great boldnessconfidence in the faith whichthat is in Christ Jesus. |
| 3:14 |
TheseI thingsam writewriting Ithese untothings theeto you, hoping to come untoto theeyou shortlybefore long; |
| 3:15 |
but ifin case I tarryam longdelayed, I write so that thouyou mayestmay know how menone ought to behaveconduct themselveshimself in the househousehold of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and groundsupport of the truth. |
| 3:16 |
And withoutby controversycommon confession great is the mystery of godliness;: He who was manifestedrevealed in the flesh, JustifiedWas vindicated in the spiritSpirit, SeenBeheld ofby angels, PreachedProclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, ReceivedTaken up in glory. |
| 4:1 |
But the Spirit saithexplicitly expressly, says that in later times some shallwill fall away from the faith, givingpaying heedattention to seducingdeceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, |

| 4:4 |
For everyeverything creaturecreated ofby God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it beis received with thanksgiving:gratitude; |
| 4:5 |
for it is sanctified throughby means of the word of God and prayer. |
| 4:6 |
IfIn thoupointing putout thethese brethrenthings into mindthe of these thingsbrethren, thouyou shaltwill be a good ministerservant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished inon the words of the faith, and of the goodsound doctrine which thouyou hasthave followedbeen until now:following. |

butBut refusehave profanenothing andto olddo wiveswith worldly fables fit only for old women. AndOn exercisethe thyselfother untohand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness:; |
| 4:8 |
for bodily exercisediscipline is profitableonly forof a little; profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, havingsince it holds promise offor the present life which now is, and ofalso thatfor whichthe islife to come. |
| 4:9 |
FaithfulIt is thea saying, trustworthy andstatement worthydeserving offull all acceptationacceptance. |
| 4:10 |

RebukeDo not sharply rebuke an elderolder man, but exhortrather appeal to him as a father;, to the younger men as brethren:brothers, |

the elderolder women as mothers;, and the younger women as sisters, in all purity. |
| 5:3 |
Honor widows thatwho are widows indeed.; |
| 5:4 |
Butbut if any widow hathhas children or grandchildren, let them first learn first to showpractice piety towardsin regard to their own family, and to requitemake some return to their parents:; for this is acceptable in the sight of God. |
| 5:5 |
Now she thatwho is a widow indeed, and desolate, who hathhas been left alone has fixed her hope set on God, and continuethcontinues in supplicationsentreaties and prayers night and day. |

But she thatwho givethgives herself to wanton pleasure is dead even while she livethlives. |
